Jinci Museum

Jin Temple, located at the foot of Xuanweng Mountain and the source of Jinshui River, 25 kilometers southwest of Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province, is a precious historical and cultural heritage integrating ancient Chinese temple architecture, gardens, sculptures, murals, and stele art. It is also a very magnificent and brilliant chapter in the world's architecture, gardens, and sculpture art from the 7th to the 12th century. Jin Temple is a temple dedicated to Ji Yu, the first lord of Jin State in the early Western Zhou Dynasty. Jin Temple has extremely rich cultural relics, including more than 100 buildings of various types such as palaces, halls, towers, pavilions, terraces, bridges, and pavilions from the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties, more than 100 sculptures since the Song and Yuan Dynasties, more than 30 cast artworks, more than 400 stele inscriptions from past dynasties, more than 200 poems and plaques, and 96 ancient trees, including 30 thousand-year-old trees. It is rare to preserve so many fine cultural relics in a cultural heritage. In 1961, it was announced by the State Council as the first batch of national key cultural relics protection units; in 2001, it was rated as the first batch of national AAAA-level tourist attractions by the National Tourism Administration.
The historical, artistic, scientific and aesthetic value of Jin Temple makes it the longest-standing and most representative example of the combination of ancient ancestral temple and garden art. It is a precious heritage in the treasure house of ancient Chinese culture and human architectural art.

I went there with my baby. It was May Day and there were too many people. The park is big enough because I turned back before I walked there. There were so many people that the mobile signal was not good. It was very tiring for an old mother to take a 26-month-old baby... The park should be built later. I encountered a peony flower exhibition. The peonies of various colors were very beautiful. Next time I have a chance, I will go there on holidays.

Located in Jinci Town, Jinyuan District, Taiyuan City, it was built to commemorate Tang Shuyu (later posthumously named King of Jin), the founding prince of the State of Jin, and his mother, Queen Yi Jiang. It is the earliest existing royal garden in China and the ancestral temple of the State of Jin. There are dozens of ancient buildings in the temple, which have the characteristics of traditional Chinese culture. Among them, the Nan Lao Spring, the Maid Statue, and the Virgin Mary Statue are known as the "Three Wonders of Jinci". We live near Taiyuan Railway Station and can take bus 856 directly to Jinci. The journey takes about 2 hours and the ticket price is 2.5 yuan. It is a short walk after getting off the bus. Don't pay attention to the local drivers who solicit customers. They say that the scenic spot is still far away and they are all liars. We went there on April 23. We first passed a garden full of peonies, and then the Jinci.

By China-TravelNote users |

Get on the bus from the train station, and it costs 2.5 yuan to the entrance of the scenic area. The beef sandwich at the entrance is delicious (8 yuan each). The scenic area is actually just a park. At first, I thought it was free during the Spring Festival, but later I found out that it was a roundabout in the garden. There are not many ancient buildings, most of which were built later. I feel that the ticket price is high! After playing, take the bus out of the scenic area to the Taiyuan Museum. It is worth a visit! Regarding the somewhat famous Liuxiang, I can only say "the advertisement is well done"

Jinci is the source of Shanxi. It is a must-see attraction when traveling to Shanxi, otherwise people will suspect that you have gone to a fake Shanxi. Jinci commemorates Tang Shuyu, the younger brother of King Cheng of Zhou. At that time, the area of Shanxi was not called Jin, but Tang. Because the fief of King Cheng's younger brother Shuyu was here, he was called Tang Shuyu. After his death, his son changed Tang to Jin, so this is the source of Shanxi. The scenic area is relatively large, so make a plan in advance, or pay for a tour guide, otherwise you will be confused and unable to understand. The scenic area is very beautiful.

The Jin Temple Scenic Area was built to commemorate King Wu of Zhou's second son, Shu Yu. There are dozens of ancient buildings in the temple, which is famous for its majestic buildings and superb sculpture art. It is the only and precious historical and cultural heritage that integrates ancient Chinese sacrificial architecture, gardens, sculptures, murals, and stele art. The Nan Lao Spring, the Maid Statue, and the Virgin Mary Statue are known as the "Three Wonders of Jin Temple". In addition, there is also the "Jin Temple Inscription" stele written and handwritten by Emperor Taizong of Tang, Li Shimin, in Jin Temple, which is very precious. In spring, summer and autumn, you can see the landscape and cultural landscape of Jin Temple. In winter, there are few people in Jin Temple, which looks a little desolate, but the sense of history is the strongest at this time.

Jinci Temple is the oldest existing classical ancestral temple garden complex in China. The Nanlao Spring inside is the source of the Jinshui River. The colorful clay sculptures in the Holy Mother Hall are amazing. The earliest existing dragon-carved columns in China are also here. As I said before, it is very appropriate to choose Taiyuan as the first stop of the trip to Shanxi, and it is even better to choose Jinci Temple as the first stop of Taiyuan's tour!

I originally thought that the architecture in Shanxi was typical of the rough style in the north, but I didn't expect to find the feeling of Jiangnan in Jin Temple. It is winter now, and the trees are a little depressed. I think if I come here in spring and summer, I will definitely have the illusion of being in Jiangnan.

Tickets: 70 yuan

Recommended attractions: Notre Dame Hall, wooden dragon sculpture, Uonuma Flying Bridge

It is a cluster of ancient ancestral halls and temples.

Jin Temple is no longer a single ancestral hall for worship, but now it is a cluster of ancient ancestral halls and temples, incorporating all the surrounding ancient relics.

Jin Temple not only has a rich historical and cultural heritage, but also has first-class architectural layout. The builders made full use of framing, fake scenery, and borrowed scenery techniques to give people a feeling of being in a paradise.

As the sun sets, the Jin Temple appears even more solemn and mysterious under the sunlight.

By Traveling photographer |

Only after walking through the Jin Temple scenic area can you reach the real Jin Temple. There is no imposing gate as imagined, but once you step in, you can feel the vicissitudes of Jin Temple. It may be because of winter, it looks rather desolate, there are not many tourists, and the sense of history is strengthened.

Jin Temple is a place with a strong cultural and historical atmosphere. The bridges, trees, pavilions and towers here are full of traces of life. Under the guidance of the tour guide, we saw the mysterious charm of the three national treasures of Jin Temple. While listening to the explanation and looking at these thousand-year-old buildings, we felt a strong sense of awe.

If you come to Taiyuan, you can really go to Jin Temple to experience it!

By One |

Entering from the gate of Jin Temple, there are two solemn and majestic lions next to them. I have seen many stone lions, but this is the first time I have seen male and female lions. The one with its mouth wide open is a male lion, and the one with its mouth closed is a female lion. I really think the ancients were very particular! Every detail has a story and reason, everyone must come and savor it carefully!

The Yunuma Feiliang in Jin Temple is particularly famous. I don’t know much about architecture, but I heard it is really amazing. But when you go in and see it, it is indeed quite unique. This is what they call the layman sees the excitement while the expert sees the details!

The trees here are also a unique landscape, and most of them are thousand-year-old trees. I'm so envious, I wish I were a tree, and could live so long. I also found a good place to take pictures of people and scenery.

Jinci is a large park, the earliest existing classical ancestral temple garden complex in China. It was first built in the Western Zhou Dynasty and has been improved through successive dynasties to its current size. There are many buildings inside. The ticket is 80 yuan, and it takes a long time to see them all. Because Jinci is the most famous scenic spot in Taiyuan, its landmark significance is far greater than its actual significance. However, due to the large number of tourists and serious commercialization, the feeling described in the text can no longer be found.

By Rain cc |

If you can only go to one place in Taiyuan

That must be Jinci.

Liang Sicheng once made a very apt comment:

The layout of Jinci

Like the solemnity of a temple

Like the freedom of a garden

This is the most brilliant architectural philosophy of the Chinese

Walk through the large free green park outside Jinci

You will come to the core of Jinci, which is Jinci Museum.

The car was booked in advance, and we picked up the car directly after exiting the high-speed rail station and headed to Jin Temple. Jin Temple is the most famous tourist attraction in Taiyuan. Taking advantage of the good weather, we spent Saturday outdoors. As long as there is a blue sky, the photos taken will be beautiful. The first time I came to Jin Temple was in 1999. During the National Day in 1950, I went to Shanxi with my parents, but I can't remember what was there. I remember that there was a famous spring. It was 25 years later that I came back to visit Jin Temple with my children.

Jin Temple is the oldest existing royal sacrificial garden in China, the ancestral temple of the State of Jin, and a museum of ancient Chinese architectural art. It has 98 ancient buildings from the Northern Song Dynasty onwards, and its attached colored sculptures, murals, and steles are all national treasures; it also has 30 ancient trees over a thousand years old. Jin Temple is a comprehensive carrier of the historical context of the Three Shanxi Provinces, so people often say "If you don't visit Jin Temple, you've been to Taiyuan in vain." When visiting Jin Temple, the three must-sees are the three wonders, three treasures, and three plaques. The three wonders are Zhou cypress, Song Dynasty colored sculptures, and Nanlao Spring; the three treasures are the Holy Mother Hall, the Fish Pond Flying Beam, and the Offering Hall; the three plaques are the Water Mirror Terrace, the Duiyue, and Nanlao.

By Meimei |

The ancient and majestic hall, exquisite colored sculptures, and vigorous pine and cypress trees of Jin Temple convey the long history of Chinese culture in a silent way. Although many years have passed, the image of Jin Temple is still lingering in my mind.

Although Jin Temple is a ancestral temple, it also integrates the beauty of mountains and waters, and perfectly integrates the garden scenery and cultural relics. The park has long streams and lush vegetation, which set off the scattered pavilions and towers. Surrounded by clear water, it looks dazzling under the reflection of the sun, and shaded by pine forests, it has a unique twists and turns and deep elegance. Jin Temple currently has architectural masterpieces from the Northern Song Dynasty, Jin, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, among which the Fish Pond Flying Beam, the Holy Mother Hall and the Offering Hall are collectively known as the "Three Treasures", and the Nanlao Spring, Zhoubai and the Maid Statue are the "Three Wonders", which have superb artistic value.

Jin Temple, a national AAAA-level tourist attraction. Jin Temple was originally named Tang Shuyu Temple. It was built before the Northern Wei Dynasty in the fifth century AD and has a history of more than 1,500 years. The historian Sima Qian told the story of "cutting the tung tree to enfeoff the younger brother" in "Records of the Grand Historian: The Family of Jin", and recorded in detail the fact that Zhou Chengwang's brother Shuyu was enfeoffed as a vassal of the Tang State. Zhou Chengwang made a joke in his childhood and enfeoffed Shuyu as a vassal of the Tang State. Shuyu later built water conservancy projects, and the people of the Tang State lived and worked in peace and contentment, becoming increasingly powerful. After his son succeeded to the throne, he changed the Tang State to the Jin State. In order to commemorate Shuyu's achievements, a temple was built to worship him, which was called Jin Temple.

By King Bang Bang |

Jin Temple is undoubtedly the most famous attraction in Taiyuan. As the saying goes, "If you don't visit Jin Temple, you have come to Taiyuan in vain." Among the Three Jins, Jinyang is the most beautiful, and Jinyang's beauty lies in Jin Temple. The wonderful thing about Jin Temple is that it has no fixed construction date; instead, it has been expanded and renovated over the dynasties based on the original building for worshiping the ancestors of the Jin State. The main hall, the Holy Mother Hall, originated in the Northern Song Dynasty, and was subsequently renovated on a large scale in the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties. Jin Temple can be regarded as the culmination of Chinese architectural history since the Song Dynasty, and it is also worthy of the name Jin Temple Branch of Shanxi Ancient Architecture Museum.

By Shared Dreams |

It is said that if you visit Beijing for a thousand years, Shaanxi for three thousand years, and Shanxi for five thousand years, there is no reason not to visit Jinci Temple when you come to Shanxi. Jinci Temple is a microcosm of Shanxi. To exaggerate, every tree here has a story. Thousand-year-old monuments are not uncommon here. It is recommended to find more documents before coming to make the tour more cultural.

The Jin Temple Scenic Area consists of two parts. The Jin Temple Park is free, while the Jin Temple Museum is charged. The Jin Temple, formerly known as the Jin Wang Temple and Tang Shuyu Temple, was built to commemorate Tang Shuyu (later posthumously named Jin Wang), the founding prince of the Jin State, and his mother, Queen Yi Jiang. It is the earliest existing royal garden in China and a precious historical and cultural heritage that integrates ancient Chinese sacrificial architecture, gardens, sculptures, murals, and stele art. It is now the Jin Temple Museum.

It is said that “Among the Three Jins, Jinyang is the best. And the beauty of Jinyang lies in Jin Temple.” When visiting Taiyuan, you must visit Jin Temple.

Jin Temple is located in the suburbs of Taiyuan, far from the city. From the railway station, you can take bus No. 308, 804, 856 to get there directly, and the fare is 2.5 yuan.

Jinci Museum is located in Jinci Park. Tickets are 80 yuan in peak season and free for people over 60 years old. There are three highlights:

① Three wonders: Maid Statue, Nan Lao Spring, and Millennium Zhou Cypress;

② Three treasures: the Offering Hall, the Holy Mother Hall, and the Fish Pond Flying Bridge;

③ Three plaques: Water Mirror Platform, Dui Yue and Nan Lao.

Jin Temple is the ancestral temple of the State of Jin. The scenic area is very large, with a park on the outermost side and the old Jin Temple at the innermost side.

There are many private tour guides, so you can negotiate the price yourself. Remember to ask the tour guide whether the package includes the interpretation of the Old Jin Temple.

The most famous are the three treasures: the Holy Mother Hall, the Offering Hall and the Fish Pond Flying Bridge. There are many ancient trees, including the Ming Dynasty ginkgo tree in front of the Wang Qiong Temple, one male and one female, which is more than 500 years old.

Jinci Museum is almost the top scenic spot of ancient sites around Taiyuan. It is worth a closer look. It is best to reserve 4 hours for taking photos and taking a tour guide. It was built before the Northern Wei Dynasty and has been renovated and expanded in successive dynasties. It is the only and precious historical and cultural heritage that integrates ancient Chinese sacrificial architecture, gardens, sculptures, murals, and stele art. You must set aside a day to visit here when you go to Taiyuan.

The main part of Jin Temple is not big, but it takes a long way from the parking lot to reach the real gate of Jin Temple. The previous section is the later-built Jin Temple Park, which is full of later-built antique buildings. I don’t like this very much. I always think it has a sense of stealing the show. Jin Temple has three major plaques, three major ancient buildings and three unique features. However, tourists were not allowed to enter the inner hall of the Holy Mother Hall a long time ago. The so-called beautiful maid statue cannot be seen at all because you stand on the side.

By wujianswi |

The "flowing water of Jin Temple is like jasper, and the hundred-foot clear pool depicts the beautiful lady" in the middle school textbook has long been a dream for me. I had half a day off and came here because of its reputation. Jin Temple, facing east, is backed by green mountains and faces the winding pond. There are statues in the main hall from the Song Dynasty, cypress trees from the Western Zhou Dynasty, flying bridges in the fishing pond, and clear springs. When I first arrived, it was cloudy and green, and when I left, the setting sun sprinkled gold. I was very satisfied and lucky!

By Free and Easy Rainy Jiangnan |

I went to Taiyuan this summer and this was the only attraction recommended by my friend. It has a long history and exquisite architecture and is worth a visit.

By The road is too long |

There are tour guides at the entrance who give explanations for 50 yuan each. There are tour guides everywhere on the road. Many people have hired tour guides to give explanations. I met several tour guides in one place. I just listened to them. Jin Temple has a long history and is well protected. Many scenic spots and historical sites have a layer of vicissitudes of history. You can't understand how those people made the carved dragons and iron men in the past~

By Fly |

A road is being built around Jinci Park, so business opportunities for local people have emerged.

When we arrived at the terminal, as soon as the door opened, a group of people rushed to block the door and asked if you wanted a ride to Jin Temple. There were many buses to Jin Temple. When we arrived at the gate of Jin Temple, a crowd of people surrounded us and asked if we wanted a tour guide. It was really annoying. We couldn't get rid of them. We said no, but these people really didn't leave us. All the buildings on the Internet have detailed and correct explanations, which are definitely more reliable than listening to your nonsense. Jin Temple has three unique features: Nanlao Spring, the Hall of the Holy Mother, and the Zhou Cypress and Tang Sophora. The entire Jin Temple is not large, and it takes 2-3 hours to walk around slowly.

By fiona-wing |

I just went to Jinci. It's not as bad as everyone says. You can share a black car for 5 yuan per person when you get out of the bus station. You don't have to walk a long way to the entrance. You can also share a car from the exit to the bus station. Jinci is really worth going. It's a pity not to go there when you go to Taiyuan.

By Wandering Potatoes |

The current gate of Jin Temple is not the original gate. There is also a lot of construction going on inside Jin Temple, and many buildings are still under construction. It takes about 20 minutes to walk to the ticket office of Jin Temple.

There are ancient monuments, ancient buildings, ancient trees and ancient monuments everywhere. The main thing to see when visiting Jin Temple is the "three threes".

The first three are three plaques, which are inscribed with "Shuijingtai", "Duiyue" and "Nanlao" respectively (written by Zhenshan, Fushan is also known as Zhenshan).

The second three are the three wonders, which are the Nan Lao Spring, the Maid Statue, and the Zhoubai and Tanghuai (two thousand-year-old trees).

The third three is the three treasures, which are three buildings. One is the Uonuma Feiliang.

(Song Dynasty architecture, wooden cross-shaped bridge, the only existing ancient Chinese bridge)

The first is the Hall of Our Lady (a Song Dynasty building, the earliest example of existing ancient architecture, especially the eight wooden dragons on the columns, which is the only example of existing red ancient architecture in China), and the third is the Hall of Offerings (a Jin Dynasty building, resembling a hall and a pavilion).

It's a very messy scenic spot. We took a taxi to the park and walked for half an hour to the ticket office. My friend didn't come in and was waiting at the entrance. As a result, we could only enter but not exit, and had to take a long way to get to the exit. The Didi driver didn't know how to get to the entrance, and the navigation was also messy. We wasted 20 minutes and almost missed the train. I had to let my friend call a taxi back to Taiyuan Railway Station.

It has a long history but the current management and environment are too poor. It is dusty everywhere. The road from the highway to the scenic spot is very narrow. The number of tour guides is more than the number of tourists. Such a good scenic spot, looking at the environment is really speechless. What's wrong with the people of Shanxi???

By JE |

There are many cultural relics, which are worth seeing, but the parking lot is in a very dilapidated state, and some buildings are under construction, which is quite messy, and the parking lot ground is also bumpy.

The outer wall is red, and the red door is a palace-style building with a width of three rooms and three red archways. The north gate on the right is now the ticket entrance, and the other two gates are usually closed. After entering the gate, the central axis mainly has the Three Jin Famous Springs, Jinren Terrace, Yunuma Feiliang, and the Holy Mother Hall. On the south side, there are Nanlao Spring, and on the left side, there are Wenchang and Guan Temple. We first toured along the central axis. There were lush plants everywhere in the courtyard, especially some ancient trees at intervals. They were vigorous and gnarled, with green branches, but the texture and thickness of the branches showed that the trees were very old, more than a thousand years old. We continued to move forward and saw a palace building with a platform at the bottom, arched round windows, double-eaved roof, and a relatively wide space between the two eaves. There was a plaque of the Three Jin Famous Springs hanging on it, and many bright columns. The overall look was elegant and exquisite.

Turning to the back, we can see an ancient stage. The plaque reads: Water Mirror Stage. On both sides, generals and ministers appear and enter. The stage is also quite wide. The front and back parts are an integral building, integrating towers, stages, halls and pavilions. The structure is complex, with carved beams and painted rafters, and exquisite details. Continue forward along the central axis, after crossing the Zhibo Canal through Huixian Bridge, and you will see the Golden Man Stage. The Golden Man is an ancient name for the Iron Man. The statues all wear crowns and armor, have sturdy bodies, hold their heads high, have bulging eyes, and have heroic and majestic expressions. Behind the Golden Man Stage is the Yuefang.

The three-door double-eaved archway is a wooden glazed roof with a strong sense of simplicity and vicissitudes. There are bell towers and drum towers on the left and right of the archway, which are pavilion-style, with flying eaves and brackets. They are square buildings with complicated glazed decorations. A few steps back from the archway is the offering hall, which has a simple roof and stretched eaves. There are no walls around it, only pillars supporting the roof, like a large pavilion, which is ventilated and cool.

After the Offering Hall, at the west end of the central axis is the Holy Mother Hall. The building itself and the statues inside the hall are extremely precious. The building itself also has a double-eaved palace-style roof, and the intervals are quite tall. It is seven rooms wide and six rooms deep, and is basically arranged in a square. Unlike other places, the coiled dragons here are not painted in relief, but are made independently of rattan and fixed on the exposed pillars. They often appear to be flying in the air, with a strong sense of dynamic and three-dimensionality. On the south side of the Holy Mother Hall is the famous Nanlao Spring. The spring water has now dried up, and the visible spring water is artificial. On the south and west sides of the Nanlao Spring, there are a series of buildings, including the Gongshuzi Temple, the Jellyfish Tower, the Liaoqiao Temple, the Jinxi Academy, etc. On the north side are the Shanli Spring, the Tang Shu Temple, the Guandi Temple, the Wenchang Palace, etc., and there are many allusions and a long history, all of which are worth seeing.

Jinci Park is quiet and pleasant, full of historical and cultural atmosphere. It is highly recommended to ask a local tour guide to explain the historical and cultural background here, so that you can know the three wonders, three famous plaques and three national treasure buildings of Jinci. Otherwise, you will find it bland and extremely boring. You must choose small scenes to take pictures to make them extremely beautiful. The tour time is about 2.5 hours.

The inside of the scenic spot is OK, but the parking lot outside is extremely chaotic, there are many wild tour guides, and the management is not standardized

By Fat Apricot |

The management is rather chaotic, especially during holidays. There is no need to find a tour guide, as all he tells are legends and jokes, with no real content. It is enough to just read the text and listen to the voice introduction.

The temple is very small, but it has many historical relics dating back hundreds or thousands of years, which are intactly placed in the original place. It is worth going to see it in person. However, the road is being repaired recently, so it is not easy to enter. If you want to go there in the next two days, I suggest you do the same as me. First navigate to Jinci Town, and then navigate from Jinci Town to Laoye Pavilion. The last 2 kilometers are the dirt road in the village, but the road is smooth, and you can go directly to the parking lot of the scenic spot. You can choose to park on the side of the road for free, or you can pay 10 yuan in the parking lot. When you go back, take the main road, so you don’t have to spend a lot of time on the road. Finally, attach a few photos of the traffic jam at the scenic spot that I took when I went back😏😏😏

I feel like going to Jin Temple on National Day is asking for trouble. I can't really have fun dragging a big suitcase. The road is still under construction on the anniversary. It's terrible overall.

By Orangutan Amusement Park |

I went to Jinci Temple on September 30th. It was almost 3:30 when I came out of Shanxi Museum. I almost canceled the trip. It took me nearly 50 minutes to drive all the way from the museum.

The navigation searched for the Jinci Museum parking lot. The last section of the road was under construction and was very muddy and slippery. The parking lot seemed to be under renovation, with potholes and no one to direct it.

Jin Temple is worth a visit, but the ticket price of 80/person is too high. The scenic area is full of unofficial tour guides, who have loud voices and poor explanations. The real tour guides are pushed aside and no one cares.

Well, let me tell you what I know about Jin Temple. Jin Temple is located in the southwest of Taiyuan City, backed by Xuanweng Mountain. It has a long history that can be traced back to the Zhou Dynasty. The main deity enshrined in the temple is Tang Shuyu, the third son of King Wu of Zhou. Later, the Holy Mother Hall, which was used to worship the water god (that is, Tang Shuyu's mother Yi Jiang), gradually expanded. The halls, halls, towers, pavilions, terraces, bridges, and squares are scattered, becoming the largest building complex in Jin Temple. The garden is crisscrossed with waterways and towering ancient trees, which is very suitable for the environment of gathering energy with water.

In terms of ancient architecture, Jin Temple has three treasures: the Offering Hall, the Fish Pond Flying Bridge, and the Holy Mother Hall.

In terms of scenic spots, there are also three treasures: Nanlao Spring, Zhou cypress and Tang locust trees, and Song Dynasty sculpture of a maid.

In total, I played for more than 2 hours before I left reluctantly.

Oh, by the way, speaking of leaving. The exit of Jinci Temple is such a bummer! You have to take a long detour, walk through a commercial area, and then go back to the entrance to drive. It's so disgusting!

The relatively ancient architectural ruins have nothing to do with the Three Families Dividing Jin. They were built by the emperor of the Zhou Dynasty. The opening hours of the scenic spot have changed. I was in a hurry on the day I went there and didn't take a serious look. The management of the scenic spot is quite chaotic. There are many wild tour guides. Although they don't cheat money, the explanations are not formal. The formal explanations on holidays are not enough. There is no one to manage the wild tour guides. It feels that the scenic spot and the wild tour guides have a "tacit understanding". Other things are not bad, the scenery is very good, the history is very long, and the transportation is quite convenient, but sometimes the bus is crowded

I think Jin Temple is the most worthwhile place to visit in Taiyuan. I haven't even been to the urban area of Taiyuan. If you come to Pingyao or pass by Taiyuan on your way north from Pingyao, then you must come to Jin Temple. It depends on whether you have enough time to visit the Mengshan Giant Buddha. Jin Temple is really worth a visit. I also strongly recommend hiring a tour guide to visit it at a slow pace.

By leo2006 |

What I want to complain about is that the traffic around Jin Temple is under repair, the traffic is chaotic, and the road signs are unclear, so I give a bad review.

At that time, the road near Jin Temple was under construction. If you drive, you can only take a long detour. If you don't want to waste too much energy, you can still take a black car, but when I came out of the scenic area, I saw that there were regular taxis. In Jin Temple, no matter where you go, you will meet a tour guide giving explanations, which made me not know who to listen to.

The most famous scenic spot in Taiyuan. It takes at least an hour to get there by car from the city, and you have to go through the heavy siege of illegal taxi drivers and tour guides. Netizens are right. It is not boring at all to walk to the gate of Jinci. The previous park was very unique, the sculptures were also great, and the distance was not far. It was also difficult for those who solicited customers. Because the buildings, sculptures, plants, etc. inside have a long history, it is called Jinci Museum.

By Bieyuan Xiaozhu |

Because the road in front of the gate is completely closed for renovation, to get to the gate of Jin Temple from the bus stop, you need to take a detour through the three surrounding villages and go around in circles before you can find the entrance. For most tourists, distance is not the first thing to consider when walking to the scenic spot. The key is that you are unfamiliar with the place and can't find the small paths to get around. The villagers nearby have started to do short-distance shuttle business. As soon as the bus arrived at the terminal, the drivers gathered around and sent the bus to the gate of the scenic spot for 5 yuan... Although I had made sufficient preparations before coming and planned the walking route in advance, when I took the bus to the scenic spot for more than an hour, I couldn't wait to get on the short-distance bus.

He said that if you are traveling by car, you will be stopped and charged parking fees when you arrive at the village. There are many people collecting fees, so there may be repeated charges. What's more tragic is that some self-driving friends paid the money but still couldn't get to the scenic spot because the route was wrong. Some villages can't reach the gate of Jin Temple...

The ticket office didn't check the student ID at all, which was quite relaxed. There seemed to be scalpers at the door. You don't need to buy tickets to take pictures. She can take you in directly. As a newcomer, I was more polite and politely declined her and went to the ticket window to buy two tickets. When I traveled, I used to buy tickets for attractions on several travel websites. Gradually, I found that since the PLUS membership policy was launched online, the discount for ordinary members to buy tickets for attractions is much smaller than before, and the itinerary of travel often changes according to actual conditions, so I haven't bought tickets for various attractions online for a long time.

Once you enter the gate of Jin Temple, there is no more dust outside. Under the lush green hills and in the dense shade of trees, a place that has existed for thousands of years is quietly and elegantly presented before your eyes. I can't help but sigh, as ancient as the Zhou cypress and as long as the Nanlao Spring, time passes, and only I am left. Everything is gone, and I am back in my dream again!

I love this place!

It would be a pity not to hire a tour guide for such a place steeped in the vicissitudes of history. The price of the official tour guide is 80 yuan, but there are many tour guides given by locals that seem to be cheaper. I just don't know what the quality of the tour guides is. If you want to understand this period of history, it is crucial to find an experienced tour guide, so that you can understand those dusty past events more comprehensively and intuitively.

The wood-carved coiled dragon, Zhoubai, and Yunuma Feiliang are all worth seeing. In addition to the ancient building part, there is also a 60-acre Jinci Park on the periphery. Because the road was under construction, we took a big detour and exited from the South Gate. It was so hard to walk. It was also a long way to return to the East Gate from the original route. It is best to get on the train at the starting station of the railway station when going to the city, otherwise there will be no seats.

The Jinci Scenic Area is divided into the Jinci Park and the Jinci Museum. Don't go to the wrong place.

It is recommended to hire a tour guide! (40 for two people) or rent a guide (20 yuan). Of course, you can also hire a tour guide, otherwise it will be like a park if you wander around by yourself.

There is a QR code on the ticket. If you don't want to be explained, you can scan the QR code and follow the official account to watch the text version of the introduction.

The inside of Jin Temple is quite good, but we need to hire a better tour guide. The surrounding supporting environment is really too poor. It is currently being upgraded and renovated, and we look forward to some improvements.

By Ermaoge |

The so-called Jiangnan gardens are actually completely different from the scenery of Jin Temple. Jin Temple has a very long history, and many of them are ancient artifacts that are thousands of years old. I personally think it is still worth seeing. Finally, I have to complain that the transportation to Jin Temple is really inconvenient. If you don’t drive there, you’d better take a black car.

Shanxi’s tourism management department is seriously inactive!

Taiyuan Tourism Management Department is seriously inactive!

I took a Didi and the local driver couldn't find the entrance to the scenic spot because of the road construction. After chatting with the villagers, I learned that the road construction in front of Jin Temple will be from April to next month, the entire tourist peak season!!!

There is no sign at the door!!!

There is no signage!!!

Local villagers are everywhere asking for money to show you the way, there is no management at all!! The roads leading to the scenic area according to Baidu navigation are all blocked by villagers, and there are people guarding every intersection. When you ask for directions from the villagers on the way, no one will tell you, they are united and wait for you to pay for directions!!

I even called the Jin Temple scenic area for advice, but the staff couldn't explain it and just told me to follow the villagers!!

The inaction of the Shanxi government has really refreshed people's three views, and it will never happen again.

You have to take a villager’s car to get there!

The historical buildings of Jin Temple are well preserved. Although they look a little old over the years, they are still very charming.

[Important reminder] If you need a tour guide, you must go to the right hand side of the entrance of the scenic area and ask for a tour guide on duty. Do not ask for a "fake tour guide" who will approach you on his own. We suffered a loss today. We hired a tour guide who approached us on his own. He spoke very quickly and had no patience. We did not take us to many important attractions, such as the Tang Dynasty stele. Later, when we wandered around by ourselves, we found that the tour guide would be more professional and responsible.

We invited a guide to explain the history in a few words. It is a large ancestral hall with towering ancient trees and a long history, which makes people feel cool and peaceful.

Jin Temple is still a little far from the city, but if you don't go there, you really can't go to Taiyuan. Every blade of grass, every brick and every tile contains a heavy history. You can appreciate it carefully and gain a lot of feelings.

It's worth a visit, but the impression won't be very deep. I was only impressed by the vinegar in Shanxi!

Jin Temple has long been known to the public, so I drove here from a long distance. However, I had too high expectations and was too disappointed. I was disgusted by the local tourism management. I followed the Amap navigation and walked to a small road that was blocked. Passersby said that the road at the entrance of Jin Temple was blocked due to construction. I went back to the main road and there were no signs along the way. I saw a sign at the entrance of a village pointing to Jin Temple. Several grandmothers asked for 10 yuan and said that they could park freely after entering. I gave them 10 yuan in exchange for a pass. I walked less than 500 meters and a strong man wanted to take back the pass before letting me pass. I finally got to the parking lot on the west side, which was a messy piece of land. I had to pay another 10 yuan without any objection. This is probably the so-called formal parking lot. I complained to the parking fee collector that the entrance was too messy, but he responded: If you think it's too messy, don't come! The tour guide only took us halfway for 50 yuan, and he recited the book like a rush, and left in 20 minutes. We walked around for another two hours and saw a lot! To be honest, the three wonders and three treasures of Jin Temple are pretty good, but with such low-level management and the bandit-like customs and habits here, I strongly recommend that you don't come to Jin Temple in recent years. Just read the travel notes on China-TravelNote.

The Jin Temple is quite beautiful, forming a sharp contrast with the parking lot and other facilities at the entrance.

When I walked to the door, I really suspected that I had walked into the wrong place.

There is also the filming location of the old version of Journey to the West, where Sun Wukong fights Erlang Shen.

In addition to this spot, there is also an episode of Nine-Headed Insect, where Sha Seng feeds the white dragon horse next to a bronze man. It was also filmed here. Unfortunately, I asked two people and they pointed me in different directions, so I didn't know where to go. Unfortunately, I didn't take a photo. Because I had to catch the train home tonight, I was in a hurry to walk around. It didn't take long before I came out.
