Mianshan, also known as Jieshan, is a steep mountain with many cliffs, precipices, pines and cypresses. It has beautiful natural scenery and many cultural attractions.
The main scenic spots include Longtou Temple, Daluo Palace, Yidou Spring, Zhujiaao, Yunfeng Temple, Zhengguo Temple, Qixian Valley and Shuitaogou.
There are three unique features on the mountain. The first is the bone-wrapped Buddha statue enshrined in Zhengguo Temple, the second is the bell hanging on Baofu Rock for fulfilling vows, and the third is a 70-meter-high cliff above Baofu Rock.
The cypress trees in Mianshan are also worth seeing. There is a cypress tree that is about 16 meters high, which can be called the crown of cypress trees in China. There is also a cypress tree that looks like a dragon and grows on a cliff.

I think this attraction has special meaning to me, and the whole experience was pretty good, so I'll give it a five-star rating.
First of all, if I were to choose a scenic spot as the starting point for my love of travel, I would choose Mianshan. I did not choose Mianshan because it is so stunning, but because it happened to appear on my travel route at such a good time.
I remember that the day of the trip was my birthday. The night before the trip, I was still struggling and hesitating because I was on a business trip and was traveling with a senior. Later, I mustered up the courage, followed my heart, told my senior about my ideas, and successfully got him on board. That night, I bought a train ticket to go to Mianshan. The next day, I got up at three or four o'clock to catch the train and visit Mianshan. I was able to walk in one day and travel in depth, covering routes that normal people would take two or three days to complete.
In short, perhaps many years later, I will slowly forget the specific scenery of Mianshan and even cannot remember the name of Mianshan clearly, but no matter what, I will never forget the feeling and joy I had when I visited Mianshan.
Generally speaking, the humanities are more important than the natural scenery. The Zhengguo Temple, the temple in Baofu Rock, and even the rebuilt Daluo Palace are all good. Mianshan is made of limestone and sandstone, so it is not as stunning as those granite mountains, such as Huangshan, Sanqingshan, Huashan, etc.
Mianshan Scenic Area is very large, so you must take a sightseeing bus. The route of the sightseeing bus is the Visitor Center - Longtou Temple - Daluo Palace - Douquan - Zhujiaao - Yunfeng Temple - Zhengguo Temple - Qixian Valley - Shuitaogou. You can get on and off at various transfer points. One day is not enough to visit these attractions along the route. If you want to visit all of them, you can stay in the scenic area.
Don't come here. When you get off the high-speed train with great expectations, a taxi will first call you and tell you to use the meter. There are problems with all the taxi meters. You can't call Didi because the government here is very backward and doesn't allow Didi to run. You can call Didi after a while. When you just arrive in a city and get cheated, do you still have the mood to play? Because the government said that Didi has affected the business of taxis. If I were the mayor, I would even cancel WeChat and Alipay because it affected the business of banks. There is a bus at the parking lot where you get off the bus. It costs three yuan per person and takes ten minutes to get to the city. As a senior travel enthusiast, I remind everyone not to come here. The backward transportation will affect your mood for the entire trip. Besides, if you take the bus to the terminal, you can go directly to Wangjiayuan for five yuan per person. If you are cheated, you call the police, and you will probably be disappointed again. The police here will not respond. So don't come here. There is nothing worth seeing in the man-made landscape. There are temples all over the mountain, and the back mountain is also man-made. If someone gives me a thousand yuan, I will definitely not go. It's a waste of time. I just want to remind you all not to be cheated. The fact that the mayor here doesn't allow Didi to run only proves that the mayor has a narrow mind and has no hope of promotion because he is short-sighted. We are consumers and tourists, but we are not a charity.
Mianshan is located in the southeast of Jiexiu and is a branch of Huoshan. The mountains here are steep, with green pines and cypresses and beautiful scenery. In addition to the beautiful scenery, there are many temples in the mountain, including the Taoist Daluo Palace, the Buddhist Tiewa Temple, Baofu Temple, and Yunfeng Temple. It is not far from Wang's Courtyard, so you can go there together.
It was built along the cliff. In the morning, I saw fog entering the ditch and people were buried in the fog in a moment.
One day is not enough to complete the trip. If you want to have fun, you need at least 3 days. Qixian Valley is too exciting. In the empty valley, there are no ancients in front and no newcomers behind. It requires courage, hahahaha
The ticket to Mianshan is 110 yuan, the bus ticket is 50 yuan, the insurance is 5 yuan, and the deposit of the magnetic card is 10 yuan, which can be refunded upon return. The map is 5 yuan. In fact, for those who travel for a day, the magnetic card is simply unnecessary. There are many scenic buses in the peak season, and every half an hour in the off-season. Summer vacation is of course the peak season. It takes 15 minutes from the tourist center to the first attraction, Longtou Temple.
It takes 2 days to visit all the spots in Mianshan. There is only one road into the mountain so you won't get lost. Only tourists who live in the mountain are not allowed to drive. Accommodation in the mountain is booked at the tourist center. Mianshan is divided by Yunfeng Temple. The front part is mainly temple cultural landscape, and the back part is mainly natural landscape. I only have one day to visit a few distinctive places. The order of the tour is Shuitaogou, Qixian Valley, Yunfeng Temple (Baofu Rock), Tianqiao, Xiaguan Daluo Palace and Longtou Temple.
The beauty of Shuitaogou lies in the Water Curtain Cave at the end, the beauty of Qixian Valley lies in the danger of using both hands and feet, the beauty of Yunfeng Temple lies in the three wonders of Mianshan, and the beauty of Tianqiao lies in its momentum spanning the sky.
There are two cable cars in Mianshan. There are four elevators. One cable car is next to Shuitaogou and is for going up to Jiexiu Mountain to see the tomb of Jiezi Tui; one cable car is used to go up the mountain at Longtou Temple. There is one elevator in Daluo Palace, one in Tianqiao (not open recently), one in Zhengguo Temple, and one in Yunfeng Hotel where you can sneak in and take a ride.
Finally, I have one more thing to say. Since time is tight for the one-day self-guided tour in Mianshan, it is recommended to bring your own dry food for lunch. You must eat hot food. You can have a bowl of knife-cut noodles at the Shuitaogou parking lot.
Private cars living in the scenic area can drive in, but the transportation fee is not exempted. There are sightseeing buses in the scenic area, from 7:30 am to 7:00 pm, and the interval is basically related to the number of tourists. There are more buses from 9:00 to 16:00, about every 15 minutes, and sometimes more than half an hour apart at other times. If you want to see the Water Curtain Cave, it is really a bit far to walk from the entrance of Shuitaogou to the innermost part of the ditch. I really walked inside, I think: it is not as beautiful as the scenery along the way. Therefore, whether to go to the Water Curtain Cave or not, don't force yourself, do it according to your ability. The rocks here are very beautiful, and every pattern seems to tell a story.
I went to Mianshan on the weekend in early August. 1. Internal transportation: Taiyuan South to Jiexiu East. After getting off the bus at 7:30, I saw a bus that went directly to the scenic spot at the bus station. The ticket seller said that there is only this one trip every day, 10 yuan per person, leaving at 8 o'clock, and returning from Mianshan to Jiexiu East around 5 pm. It seems that you can only take a taxi from the East Station at other times. 2. Tickets. It is recommended to buy tickets online in advance, because there are many people at the ticket office of Mianshan, and some windows cannot pay by mobile phone. It is also very annoying to queue for half an hour and finally tell you that you can only accept cash. It is recommended to ask the window in advance and then queue up. 3. Tour route: The general strategy is to go to the back mountain and Taogou in the morning, and then go to the temple in the afternoon. Personally, I think it should be the other way around. In the morning, when the sun is not completely shining on the front mountain, Daluo Palace and Yunfeng Temple are very cool. In the afternoon, these places are very sunny. You can walk more in the shade first, but these places are all very high steps. In order to save energy, you must climb selectively and selectively. In the afternoon when the sun is at its hottest, it is best to go to Shuitaogou to cool off. There are lush trees, strong water flow, and the temperature is at least 4 or 5 degrees lower than outside the ditch. You can go down the mountain directly from Shuitaogou to the first stop of the transfer station.
Mianshan Scenic Area is very large. If time permits, it is recommended to stay in the scenic area and take your time to see all the attractions. There are mountains, water and history here, which are worth savoring slowly. Some scenic spots are relatively high, and it will be more difficult for the elderly with poor legs and feet, and too young children will also be more tired of adults.
I drove 680 kilometers from Beijing to here. When I arrived at the Mianshan parking lot, the toll collector Yuan said that it was 20 yuan per minute and 20 yuan per day. It's not that I can't afford it, but I feel uncomfortable. Isn't it better to pay an hourly fee? I parked for 10 minutes, consulted at the tourist center, and left. I paid 20 yuan and considered it a contribution to the local area! I will never come here again! The people who come here are tourists. Tourists come to consult, and it is natural for their cars to park in the parking lot. It is really unreasonable for you to charge so much!
Arriving at Mianshan Scenic Area, I bought tickets at the visitor center. The ticket price was 175 yuan, including 110 yuan for the scenic area ticket, 50 yuan for the scenic area bus, 5 yuan for insurance, and 10 yuan for the ticket card deposit (refundable). I was quite resistant to compulsory insurance, so I didn't buy insurance. I used the 5 yuan to buy a scenic area guide map at the ticket window. I swiped the ticket card at the entrance symbolically and got on the scenic area bus. The whole journey stopped at eight stations: Longtou Temple, Daluo Palace, Tianqiao, Yidouquan, Zhujiaao, Yunfeng Temple, Qixian Valley, and Shuitaogou. In order to avoid crowding with other tourists, I decided to go to the last station, Shuitaogou, and play from the back to the front.
Take the scenic area bus to enter the scenic area. Along the way, you will see two mountains facing each other, with rugged rocks and beautiful scenery.
Mianshan has both Taoist and Buddhist cultures, as well as beautiful waterfalls, and is home to beautiful mountains and rivers, cultural relics, Buddhist temples, and revolutionary sites.
We took the scenic bus up Mianshan. The scenic area is very large, and it may not be enough to visit it all in one day. We played from the back to the front, that is, we took the bus to Shuitaogou first, and then returned to the first scenic spot, Daluo Palace. We selected a few attractions but not all of them.
There is no road in Mianshan that is not dangerous, no peak that is not strange, no water that is not beautiful, no cave that is not secluded, and no temple that is not ancient.
It was almost noon when we arrived at the Mianshan Scenic Area in Jiexiu. Finding a room took a little time. It was past 14:00 when we entered the scenic spot. We had no choice but to visit the most scenic spots in the shortest time. We planned to go to Shuitaogou first, then Qixian Valley, and then Yunfeng Temple and Daluo Palace. Shuitaogou is a ten-kilometer walk, and few people can complete the whole journey. We can only walk a little. Qixian Valley is a winding narrow valley, and you have to pull the iron chain to climb up. This is not a place for us old people to experience.
When visiting Mianshan, in addition to enjoying the beautiful natural scenery, the historical and cultural attractions in the mountain will not disappoint you.
Enter through the ticket gate and get on the bus directly. It will take about 30 minutes to reach the scenic spot in the mountain.
The bus will stop at each scenic spot and return to the waiting area after you finish your tour to wait for the bus to go to the next scenic spot. It is super convenient.
Mianshan is very big. It takes two and a half hours to drive up from the foot of the mountain. There is a cliff next to it, which is very steep. There are many scenic spots along the way. I only remember visiting Daluo Palace, a temple, and Shuitaogou. Mianshan is also a very historical place, very beautiful, and has a unique beauty compared to other mountains.
I did visit the Mianshan Scenic Area, but the wind was too strong, so I only visited Yunfeng Temple, Zhengguo Temple, Daluo Palace and Longtou Temple. When I got to the Yuewang Temple in Longtou Temple, the wind had blown the incense ash all over the yard, so I had to go down the mountain.
It can be seen that the scenic area service and facility maintenance are extremely good.
It is a large scenic area consisting of many scenic spots. An in-depth tour requires 3-4 days, and one day is just a quick tour.
Great! I want to go again. It's a great place!
I came here during the Spring Festival in 2012. I heard it is a man-made landscape👍Awesome
Mianshan is definitely worth a visit; there are many different landscapes from other places
Mianshan has a beauty that is rare among northern mountains, and transportation to the scenic area is very convenient.
Mianshan is a place with stories. Chinese culture has a long history, and Mianshan is a stream upstream. Cold Food Festival, a Chinese festival, originated from this, and Jie Zitui, the city of Jiexiu, was named after him. How did the heaven and earth and all things come into being? The answer is in the Hunyuan Hall. At the beginning of the chaos of the universe, all things were invisible and nameless. At this time, three celestial masters came out. The Invisible Celestial Master, the Nameless Celestial Master, and the Supreme Yuan Lord. They gave all things their actions and gave all things their names. The Supreme Yuan Lord is the mother of the Supreme Lord Lao. As a result, all things are alive and flourishing.
The service in Mianshan is also better than expected. There are traffic police at the corners of Mianshan Road. There are many tourists during the short holiday. The scenic area bus quickly takes tourists to various scenic spots and delivers them to the entrance in time in the afternoon. It's awesome.
The scenery is great. There are hanging temples everywhere. The developed hotels are not hidden and affect the ancient buildings.
I arrived at Jiexiu City the night before. In the morning, there was a bus in the square in front of the train station that could take me to the entrance of Mianshan Scenic Area. I bought a ticket and took a sightseeing bus to these attractions one after another. There was a bus back to Jiexiu Railway Station at noon. I could see all the main attractions in Mianshan in three hours.
Strictly speaking, Mianshan should be regarded as a newly built ancient scenic spot. Because it is well integrated with the terrain, we tourists do not feel that it is unacceptable. In addition, the scenic area service is very good, so it is still possible to play there for 2 or 3 days. Of course, not everything is good, such as Shuitaogou and the stone carvings along the road.
The suburban bus to the scenic area is No. 15, not No. 12. It is just in front of the train station, 500 meters west of Xinjian Road to get on the bus. There are photos to prove it!
We went on a day trip. We went up the mountain at 9 o'clock in the morning and took an eco-friendly car from the transfer center directly to Shuitaogou. We went from the top to the bottom because we went during the Qingming Festival. The mountain was relatively cold, there were no green plants, and there was little water. The scenery in the valley was all man-made and very ordinary. It took an hour and a half to go back and forth.
Then come back and take the eco-friendly car to Yunfeng Temple, and walk along the road to the Tianqiao scenic area from here. You must walk for a while. There are beautiful scenery along the road. The steep cliffs are very exciting. You must walk on the Tianqiao once. This is one of the most classic things to save.
After visiting Daluo Palace, we took a bus down the mountain, 16:00
Highly recommended!!! I go there almost every year.
Mianshan is really close, but I have never been there. I heard from friends who have been there that some said it is not worth going at all, and some said it is more beautiful after the rain. We found a break time to set off. The sky was a little gray, but it did not affect our mood for the trip. Later, the sky was very blue, as you can see in the pictures. The natural scenery is still very beautiful.
Mianshan Scenic Area is a national 5A-level tourist attraction and the birthplace of China's Qingming Festival (Cold Food Festival). The highest altitude is 2,560 meters. Mianshan originated from the Spring and Autumn Period when Jie Zitui of the State of Jin took his mother to live in seclusion and was burned on the mountain, so Mianshan is also known as Jieshan. Mianshan had temple buildings as early as the Northern Wei Dynasty, and it had a considerable scale of Buddhist Zen temples in the early Tang Dynasty. [1] The ancient architectural complex in Mianshan Scenic Area has various styles. From an architectural perspective, Mianshan's ancient architecture not only takes the advantages of previous buildings, but also adds the modern creativity of designers and builders, and integrates the essence of ancient and modern China, forming a unique style of modern antique buildings.
It is best to go to places with mountains and water in summer. If you can't see all the sights in one day, it is best to go for two or three days and stay overnight in the scenic area.
Good, good, really good, I like this place~~
A mountain with a story, an AAAAA scenic spot, rich cultural landscape, and can be visited in one day. The downside is that it randomly associates celebrities with it and creates irrelevant legends, which ruins the rare natural scenery.
Mianshan is not very famous, but after visiting it, I found that Mianshan is really a good place. The scenery is very unique and the culture is very mellow. It is definitely worth a visit!
I went to Mianshan today and was very shocked and had a lot of fun. What I want to help you with most here is, listen carefully, there are many scenic spots in Mianshan, search Mianshan scenic spots on Baidu in advance, and then there will be pictures and historical information of each scenic spot, and then you will have a preliminary judgment to know where you want to go, so you will not be surprised why you didn’t see that scenic spot after seeing some pictures, so if you only have one day, do your homework, if you have 2 to 3 days, then you can live in the mountains and experience them one by one.
Mianshan Scenic Area is famous for Jie Zitui, a wise minister of the State of Jin during the Spring and Autumn Period. Jie Zitui followed Prince Chong'er and drifted to a foreign country. There was no food on the way, so Jie Zitui cut the meat from his legs and made soup for Prince Chong'er. After Chong'er restored his country and became the monarch "Duke Wen of Jin", he rewarded his meritorious ministers. Jie Zitui was unwilling to accept the reward and lived in seclusion in Mianshan with his mother on his back. "Duke Wen of Jin" couldn't find him, so he set fire to the mountain to force him out so that he could reward him. But he didn't come out of the mountain and was burned to death hugging a big tree. Duke Wen of Jin built a tomb for him on the top of Mianshan Mountain and buried Jie Zitui there. The Chinese Qingming Cold Food Festival was because on the day Jie Zitui was burned, people didn't light fires to cook and ate cold food. The Cold Food Festival originated here. Mianshan is a place where the three religions of Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism coexist. In its heyday, it was as famous as Mount Wutai. It is a national 5A scenic spot.
Mianshan Scenic Area was the most unexpected surprise of our trip. It is also a scenic area that I would like to strongly recommend and introduce to you. I am most satisfied with it in terms of human stories, natural scenery, scenic area management, environment, and cost performance.
But I am most dissatisfied with Jiayuan Hotel near Mianshan Scenic Area. Why are the rooms of the same specifications so different? Does Jiayuan Hotel have a standard price for guest rooms? Do they set the room prices on a whim? They look at the people, the weather, the number of visitors, and then set the price accordingly. I would like to remind friends who are going to Mianshan to ask about the room price when staying at this hotel to avoid being ripped off.
The scenery of Mianshan is very beautiful, the Qixian Valley is safe and secure, and the sky bridge is spectacular.
There was a legend about the origin of Qingming Festival in Mianshan. The scenery is beautiful, but the canyon is steep and the mountain road is rugged and difficult to walk, and there are no tourists. Just 30 years ago, Mr. Yan from Shanxi invested more than 2 billion yuan to build the Mianshan landscape. On one side, various buildings were built against the cut wall, and on the other side, there was a waterscape wonder. It is not easy to build a waterscape in Shanxi, which is short of water. Water must be pumped up for recycling. In particular, the road up the mountain was built very well. On one side of the cliff, not only stone banks and cement piles were built, but also trees were planted (so that tourists would not worry about the danger). There are also 7 hotels in the Mianshan scenic area, which is very thoughtful and has brought benefits to the local people.
At 8:30, the driver took us to Mianshan Scenic Area and asked us to take a photo here. It was drizzling.
There is a story about Jie Zitui, a great loyal minister in Mianshan. We have heard about it in Chinese studies class. This time we can see the real Mianshan. The driver also introduced Yan Jiying, a famous coal boss in Jiexiu, Shanxi. It was he who developed the Mianshan Scenic Area in Jiexiu. The ticket cost more than 100 yuan, but unfortunately we didn't have time to go in.
Mianshan is also called Jieshan because Jie Zitui, a famous minister of Duke Wen of Jin, one of the Five Hegemons of the Spring and Autumn Period, was burned to death while living in seclusion with his mother. It is located 20km south of Jiexiu City and is a 5A-level scenic spot (ticket price 110 yuan/person). The entire scenic spot is built on a cliff along a ditch, and mainly includes Longtou Temple, Daluo Palace, Yidouquan (Sky Bridge), Zhujiaao, Yunfeng Temple (Zhengguo Temple), Qixian Valley and Shuitaogou. Since most scenic spots need to return to the sightseeing station by the original route, one day of normal physical strength is definitely not enough. If you only have one day, it is recommended to focus on visiting Longtou Temple (Longji Ridge), Yunfeng Temple (Suspended Plank Road), Qixian Valley, and Shuitaogou (about 3.5km long and at least 2.5 hours). External transportation: There is a direct bus to the scenic spot from the bus station on the southwest side of the Jiexiu Old Railway Station (5 yuan/person); there is a tourist special bus in the scenic area that goes directly to the old railway station and the high-speed railway station (ticket price 10 yuan/person). Internal transportation: The scenic area opens at 8:00 and sightseeing buses (50 yuan/person) arrive in order: the scenic area gate (5.8km), Longtou Temple (0.8km), Daluo Palace (0.8km), Yidouquan (0.5km), Zhujiaao (1.2km), Yunfeng Temple (0.5km), Zhengguo Temple (0.5km), Qixian Valley (0.7km), Shuitaogou. You can get on and off at will in any direction within the scenic area transfer point.
Mianshan in Shanxi is a very unique place where people live on the cliff and eat beside the cliff ditch.
The scenic area is very large, the scenery is very nice, climbing the mountain is very tiring and there is almost no cableway
The scenery is nice, with various historical stories. It is worth a visit. Standing on the top of the mountain and looking at the whole earth, you will feel relaxed.
I went there at the end of June. Mianshan is a provincial tourist attraction. It has a large area, sufficient water resources, and is comfortable and cool. You can climb mountains and burn incense. There are the famous Mianshan Sky Bridge and Taoist temples. It is one of the most famous scenic spots in Shanxi and is worth a visit.
It would be a pity if you come to Shanxi and don't come to Mianshan.
The transportation is average, most people go there by illegal taxi, and few by public bus, but the scenery is very good, it is worth a visit~
It was very foggy when we went there! We couldn't see anything, even when we went up to the Daluo Palace! So we must avoid going on rainy days! The scenery was still very good when the fog dissipated a little!
This is the first mountain I climbed. Although you have to take a tourist bus to the scenic spots on the top, and there are tourist buses at each scenic spot, there are no buses at the last scenic spot. But you can still continue to climb the mountain. It is super cool and the spring water is super clear. For someone who has never climbed a mountain, my legs are broken after a day.
Mianshan can be visited together with Pingyao, or Pingyao can be visited alone. Now that the high-speed rail has been opened, it is very convenient. Friends living in North China can come here on a weekend. If you take the bus to Jiexiu Station or the bus station, you can ask the staff for the minibus to the scenic area. The price is affordable. No one paid 15 yuan more for the black car we took at that time. The scenic area opens at 7 o'clock in summer. If you arrive early, you can buy tickets now. The large group of tour groups will arrive after about 7:30. It is very convenient to take a shuttle bus in the scenic area. There is a bus every few minutes. Sometimes the station will be skipped. If you get on the bus halfway, you have to tell the driver which station to get off. It is recommended to play Shuitaogou, Jiegongling and Qixia Valley in one day. It is still very tiring to walk all the way. If you have time, go to Yunfeng Temple again, or wait until the next day, and go to Longtou Temple, Daluo Palace, Tianqiao and Yidouquan on the other day.
Mianshan is very big and is a Taoist holy place. Many people come here to burn incense. However, our main purpose this time is to enjoy the natural scenery, so we chose to visit Shuitaogou in Mianshan Scenic Area. We just took the scenic shuttle bus to the end. The scenery is nice, but the road is a bit long. I didn’t walk to the end because I wanted to return the same way.

Therefore, Mianshan is also known as Jieshan. As early as the Northern Wei Dynasty, there were temples in Mianshan. In the early Tang Dynasty, there was already a large-scale Buddhist Zen temple. [1] The ancient buildings in the Mianshan Scenic Area have various styles. From an architectural perspective, the ancient buildings in Mianshan not only take the advantages of previous buildings, but also add the modern creativity of designers and builders, and integrate the essence of ancient and modern China, forming a unique style of modern ancient buildings.
The location of Jie Zitui's cenotaph, which is the origin of the so-called "Cold Food Festival".
The 5A-level scenic spot that was booked by a coal boss has buses to all the scenic spots. It's very convenient and suitable for lazy travelers like me.
Mianshan Scenic Area is located in Jiexiu City, Shanxi Province. You need to enter the mountain with a ticket price of about 110. The most common attractions in Mianshan Scenic Area are the cultural landscapes and the houses attached to the walls. I like this very much. The scenery from the bottom to the top is very ordinary and has no special features. Because there are many people, there will be garbage around from time to time. But when you get to the highest place, everything changes. Looking down from a high place, the scenery is really good. This is a place worth visiting. Finally, I would like to remind you that it is cold inside the mountain and you should wear more clothes.
The most eye-catching thing in Mianshan is the numerous bird holes and the copper bells hanging on the top wall of Baofu Rock Cave. The bell hanging on Baofu Rock is a unique feature of Mianshan. During temple fairs, devout men and women hire people to hang the bell-hanger from the top of the rock with ropes in the air in order to make wishes come true. Then, they use the force of the swing to slide the person into the cave, hook the top wall with an iron hook, wedge and tie the bell. After the operation is completed, the bell-hanger is lowered to the bottom of the rock with a rope. The scene is thrilling and breathtaking.
Mianshan, also known as Jieshan, is 20 kilometers southeast of Jiexiu City. It has steep mountains, many cliffs, lush pines and cypresses, and beautiful natural scenery.
Arrived at Mianshan Scenic Area during the Qingming Festival, which is also the birthplace of the Cold Food Festival, but the sky was not good, that is, there was too much fog.
The operation mode of Mianshan is very similar to Jiuzhaigou. There are special buses in the scenic area, and there are bus stops outside each scenic spot. They are divided into up and down lines, and the interval between buses is very short. It is super convenient for everyone to take the bus to any scenic spot.
Mianshan is really big, and you may not be able to finish exploring it in two days.
We stayed in the hotel in Mianshan for two nights, but the tour was only for one day. According to the itinerary, we were going to visit Yunfeng Temple, Qixian Valley and Shuitaogou on the second day. However, because of my colleagues and I's diligence, we also visited several other major attractions in Mianshan. Basically, we visited all the highlights of Mianshan, which was a very proud experience for us and other colleagues.
In 2011, the ticket price for the Mianshan scenic area seemed to be 60 yuan per person, which was quite reasonable.
It is convenient to drive to the scenic spot by car. The first thing to do after entering the scenic spot is to find a room. Didn’t Ctrip say that there is no room in the whole Jiexiu?
We were successful on our first try at finding accommodation and found the "Yunfeng Villa Garden" which looked very impressive online.
Now that we had found a place to stay, we felt much more at ease. We set out lightly, carrying our cameras, to tour the Mianshan Scenic Area.
Next to the "Yunfeng Villa" hotel is a large group of temples, which should be the "Yunfeng Temple" temple group. After going down to the hotel parking lot, go up the high steps to the plaque and start the tour.
I am not interested in temples and I don't understand them, but the location of the "Yunfeng Temple" in Mianshan is amazing. It is embedded in the mountain wall. It is amazing! Looking up at the vertical bell hanging high above, it is probably used for praying and fulfilling wishes. How is it hung there? ! Awesome! ! I am interested.
There are two levels of tour passages to visit the cultural landscape of the front mountain of Mianshan (mainly the ancient temple complex). I have been to so many 5A scenic spots, and this is rare:
Just like we climbed up the steep steps from the parking lot and walked up to the top of the mountain from the "Yunfeng Temple" side on the "sky bridge". In fact, there is a long plank road along the top of the mountain that connects all the temples in the front mountain. We chose to go down the mountain and visit along the road below the mountain, passing by these scenic spots one by one.
As you can see, you need to climb up the steep steps on the main road at the foot of the mountain to visit these sub-attractions. After the visit, you can come down the same way or follow the plank road in the mountains to the next attraction.
It is worth mentioning that each of these sub-attractions has a building component similar to a giant monument standing next to the tall and long steps. I initially thought it was a religious archway or a large stone tablet, but later I found that there were windows in the middle of these building components, which means that the inside was empty. After asking, I found out that it was an elevator! !
The elevator ticket is not expensive, only 5 yuan per person, which saves the energy of climbing stairs.
This is simply amazing!
What’s even more amazing is that the road we walk on is also empty underneath! You can’t see it from the surface, but if you look from the side outside the road’s retaining wall, you can see rows of glass windows embedded under the road surface and above the cliffs.
We wondered who lived here: road workers? Monks' dormitory?
The next day, because we were staying in the scenic area, we got up and went to the back mountain for sightseeing. It was around 8 o'clock in the morning, and there were no other tourists at all. It was very quiet.
Just imagine how much fun it would be to climb and maneuver safely on the suspended platform beside the mountain stream without the constant flow of tourists! This was during the May Day holiday.
We had a lot of fun taking group photos, competing in PK races, etc.
Mianshan Scenic Area is located in Jiexiu, Shanxi Province, and is an international 5A-level scenic area. According to legend, Jie Zitui, a famous minister in the Spring and Autumn Period, was indifferent to fame and fortune, and lived in seclusion in Mianshan to serve his mother. He was eventually burned here with his old mother, so it is also called Jieshan. In order to commemorate Jie Zitui, Duke Wen of Jin banned open fire and cold food on his death anniversary, so Mianshan is the birthplace of China's Cold Food Festival. Mianshan Scenic Area is very large, with scenic spots such as Daluo Palace, Zhujiaao, Baofu Rock, and Shuitaogou. There are free buses in the scenic area, which is quite convenient. It is best to stay overnight when visiting Mianshan. There are several hotels in the scenic area. It takes about 1 and a half days to visit slowly. Daluo Palace and Baofu Rock are recommended.
This is the most beautiful scenic spot with the most artificial traces I have seen. I like it.
The tickets are expensive and it feels a bit of a rip-off. It's not that fun. So that's it.
Enter the scenic area and transfer to the scenic area tourist bus, you can visit at any time at 12 boarding and alighting stations. We first arrived at the terminal station Shuitaogou Scenic Area, and then returned all the way to visit.
The next morning, after breakfast, we visited Mianshan Scenic Area. We had originally booked tickets, but it was very troublesome to pick up the tickets. It was not at the same window, so we bought the tickets directly (120 tickets + 50 yuan bus tickets). Mianshan Scenic Area is very large. The online guide says that it takes 2 days to play. We chose to find several representative attractions: Daluo Palace (bold and majestic), Sky Bridge (you can stroll along the plank road and go directly down from Yidouquan), Yunfeng Temple (you can not go up the zigzag plank road but you must see it), Qixian Valley (personally I feel it is the most fun, but it is not suitable for the elderly and children, the road is not easy to walk), Shuitaogou (the water is very good, but the artificial landscaping is too obvious). I didn't visit other attractions, but the road tour was average, not as special as the ones we went to. There were 4 of us. We played all the above attractions and came out at about 3 o'clock in the afternoon. We carried our own lunch. We had beer, liquor and drinks on the mountain opposite Shuitaogou. The scenic area is built on the mountain. You can play along the cliff all the way. The end of the tour is the Shuitaogou scenic spot.
There is a Dicos on the right side of the Jiexiu Railway Station Square. Below the big screen on the wall of Dicos is the bus that goes directly to Mianshan. However, it is said that there are no buses after 8 am, so students who want to go have to get up early. In the evening, we will leave from the Mianshan ticket office to the railway station at 17:30. After getting on the bus, the ticket seller will directly sell tickets to the Mianshan Scenic Area. You also need to pay an additional 50 yuan for the bus fee in the Mianshan Scenic Area. Every scenic spot in Mianshan can be reached by taking the bus in the scenic area. The next time is at the entrance of each scenic spot, which is very convenient.
Mianshan is divided into two major scenic areas, the front and back of the mountain. There are basically various temples in front of the mountain, and an endless group of waterfalls behind the mountain. However, there are obvious traces of human intervention, as well as various stone carvings along the way. Because of this, it does not feel very tiring to walk there.
After leaving Wangjia Courtyard, our next stop was Mianshan. That night we arrived at Mianshan and stayed in a hotel built on the edge of a cliff... The temperature difference here is huge. It's all winding mountain roads. Private cars are not allowed to enter. You can only take the scenic area's special car. The driver of the scenic area's special car is really skilled. He can drive on the winding mountain road at night with ease. It feels a bit like the Badachu in Beijing. Haha, we visited from the top of the mountain to the bottom of the mountain. We played some relatively famous attractions. In fact, we just climbed the mountain and felt the nature...
I also booked the ticket online, and the price seemed to be about the same as the regular price. The advantage is that you don't have to queue up, you can just go to the online ticket point and enter. Then add 50 yuan for transportation, and you can get on and off as you like in the scenic area, because each scenic spot is far apart.
I originally thought it might just be a mountain, but it turns out there are a lot of things built inside, and there are so many people. Everyone takes the bus around it, gets off at a certain place to visit, and then gets on the bus to the next spot. Many people go to the last spot and play from the back to the front.
Although each scenic spot in Mianshan has its own characteristics, the most beautiful one is Qixian Valley. Qixian Valley is a winding canyon with nine bends and a narrow sky. There are rugged rocks on both sides and few plants. You have to climb more than ten ladders to pass through. People walk on the suspension bridge and fly under the waterfall. The scenery is very unique, which made us who were originally planning to take the elevator down decide to walk down instead.
Overall, this scenic spot is really good. Ignoring those superfluous artificial flaws, you will be amazed at the magical power that challenges nature. . .
As for Mianshan, I feel it is pretty good. I am not so fond of the cultural landscape, but overall it is okay.
I went there on May 2nd. I took a taxi for 20 from Jiexiu Railway Station to the Visitor Center (make sure to tell the driver where you are going). I arrived at 7:30 in the morning, and there weren't many people there. I took a bus to Shuitaogou and played there. There is an elevator in Qixi Valley. You can walk up, come back and take the elevator, and then go forward one stop at a time. It ended at around 5 o'clock.
