Went to Chengdu Museum, and it turned out to be worthwhile. Chengdu Museum can be booked on the official account 7 days in advance. It seems that it is okay to not make an appointment during normal times, but I was afraid that there would be a lot of people during the Spring Festival, so I made an appointment in advance. I arrived at around 9 o'clock that day, and there was no one queuing at all. It was very smooth to enter, so the appointment was not used, but when we came out, we found that the line was already very long, and those who made an appointment could enter easily. You need to check the case when entering the door, and water is not allowed to be brought in. If you bring something that is not allowed in, you can go to the opposite side to store it, which is very convenient. Because I did my homework before coming here, I was more interested in the shadow puppet hall and the folk custom hall, so I chose to play in order from top to bottom.
First, we took the elevator to the shadow play hall on the 5th floor. There were not only some tours, but also shadow play performances in the middle hall. Youyou had the first intimate contact with shadow play. The red man in the last photo was operated by Youyou and me. Today, I specially put on an ancient style dress for Youyou. I bought it before going to Yangzhou, but I didn't wear it because of the weather. Today, I finally had the opportunity to wear it. Because we arrived early and chose an unconventional tour order, we felt like we had booked the whole place, which is rare during the Spring Festival.
We stayed in the shadow puppet hall for nearly two hours, and then went down to the fourth floor to enter the folk custom hall. The simulation scene was very artistic. The children were not interested in other exhibition halls, so we just took a quick look. There are small shops selling cultural and creative products on each floor. Some of the things in them can be bought outside, and some are unique to the museum, and the prices are also reasonable. Youyou bought the lantern that was lost the night before here, and also received refrigerator magnets, medals, stickers, etc.
Admission is free. You can enter with your ID card. If you don't bring your ID card, there is a special window to get your ticket. You can also make an appointment online. Security is very strict and no food can be brought in. The interpreter is an audio-visual device with a screen similar to an iPad. It can be rented with a deposit of 100 yuan. But it is not necessarily very useful. You can directly follow the Chengdu Museum WeChat official account, and there will be ancient cat audio interpretations. Most of them are free, and a few can be purchased for 10 yuan. At that time, I met the on-site interpreter on the second floor of the museum. He was really good, so I followed him all the way. After listening, I felt admiration.
From the ancient Shu Kingdom to modern times, the content is rich and I gained a lot. I highly recommend everyone to watch and listen.
A very modern exhibition hall with rich exhibits, some of which talk about the history of Sichuan and Chongqing, and some about local customs. Some of the paper-cut works are very suitable for taking photos. The internal facilities are very advanced and the exhibition hall is spacious and bright. It takes most of the day to visit it. It is located in the southwest corner of Tianfu Square, with convenient transportation, and it is also suitable for bringing children. You need to bring your ID card to enter the museum, and no reservation is required.
The first floor of Chengdu Museum is the lobby, the second and third floors are the exhibition halls of the ancient section of Chengdu's historical and cultural display, the fourth floor is the modern section and folk custom section, and the fifth floor is the exhibition of Chinese shadow puppets. I visited the second floor "Nine Heavens Opened a Chengdu - Chengdu in the Pre-Qin Period", "Western Shu Called the Heaven of Abundance - Chengdu from the Qin and Han Dynasties to the Southern and Northern Dynasties"; the third floor "Noisy Famous Metropolis - Chengdu in the Sui, Tang, Five Dynasties, Song and Yuan Dynasties", "Red Towers Glow in the Evening - Chengdu in the Ming and Qing Dynasties". I did not visit the modern section and folk custom section on the fourth floor because I did not have enough time. To be honest, I like shadow puppetry very much, and thought I would not have the chance to see the "Chinese Shadow Puppet Exhibition" on the fifth floor. I did not expect to have 2 hours of free time on the afternoon of the 17th, so I hurried to appreciate the "Chinese Shadow Puppet Exhibition" and was very happy.
The best thing about Chengdu Museum is that it opens at 20:00 in the evening. It is unimaginable that museums in Shanghai are basically open until 17:00. At that time, I thought I only had more than 2 hours to visit, so I could only take a quick look at some exhibits, select a few treasures of the town or favorite cultural relics to take pictures, but I ended up visiting for 4 hours and didn't leave until 19:00. Chengdu Museum opening hours: 1. May 1st-October 31st, 9:000-20:30 (stop collecting tickets at 19:30) 2. November 1st-April 30th, 9:000-20:00 (stop collecting tickets at 19:00)
The Chengdu Museum located in Tianfu Square was definitely an unexpected surprise on this trip. The queue was beyond my imagination. It just happened to be the Qin and Shu Bronze Civilization Special Exhibition. The strictness of the security check was also the most stringent among all the museums I have visited. Scan the WeChat of Chengdu Museum to listen to the explanation for free. When I saw people of different ages listening carefully to the explanation, when I saw the white-haired old man pointing at each word with his finger, when I saw a mother answering the child's questions tirelessly, when I saw the children carefully browsing each exhibit, I felt indescribable at that time. It was great. Our history will never be forgotten.
I still remember the slight disappointment after visiting the Sichuan Provincial Museum that day, which was made up for on this day. From the "Harmonious but Different Sichuan Woodcarving Portrait Exhibition" on the underground first floor to the special exhibition on the first floor, to the exhibition on the second, third and fourth floors about the historical and cultural changes of Chengdu and the customs and culture exhibition, to the "Shadow Puppet Exhibition" on the fifth floor. Whether it is the perspective of the topic selection or the design of the exhibition hall, whether it is the innovation or fun of the exhibition hall, whether it is the importance or uniqueness of the exhibits, after comparing so many museums or museums, the Chengdu Museum has surpassed many provincial museums to a large extent. When modern technology and cultural relics are successfully integrated, when traditional customs are vividly displayed in front of us, when cultural creation is attached to the museum, what style of picture will it be?
When we walked into the shadow play exhibition hall, we were attracted by a clear and moving voice. It turned out that it was a little tour guide, a little girl who was less than nine years old. I was a little surprised when I saw her. Her aura and voice did not match her age and body shape. From the beginning when she was explaining to more than a dozen people to the end when more and more people joined, she was so calm and explained to us vividly and humorously. Her talent was known from a young age, and such a state made us feel ashamed. When the little girl finished her explanation, another little boy came to explain the puppet show to us, and at the end he wrote affirmation and suggestions in his message book. I heard that they were selected from 1,000 people to become one of the forty, and only after passing the assessment did they have the opportunity to explain to us. In fact, the happiest thing is to see a lot of children in the museum, which makes me always believe that more and more people will like history through the platform of the museum.
Chengdu Museum is located on the west side of Tianfu Square. The three-story city history display is the essence. The museum's pride and joy in Chengdu's cultural heritage are vividly reflected in the exhibition text and exhibition design. The collection is rich and colorful. A group of dancer figurines unearthed from the tomb of Zhao Tingyin, the Grand Tutor of the Later Shu Dynasty, are in different postures and are very exquisite and outstanding. The museum's promotional video features the cartoon Zhang Daqian as the protagonist, jumping between the exhibits, humorous and free and easy. The second floor of the museum store is magnificent, with bookmarks, refrigerator magnets, and stationery each with its own characteristics, which shows the museum's intentions.
There are explanations on the official account. I feel that Chengdu has done a good job in this regard. Most of the scenic spots have free explanations on their official accounts. It is quite interesting to listen to the explanations while looking at the exhibits. It is also free but not free tickets. Tickets can be obtained through WeChat, the official website, and on-site ticket collection. There are free hot drinks at the door - red and white tea, which tastes quite special.
The new museum is very well designed, the exhibits are arranged reasonably, the lighting is scientific, and no cultural relic will be missed according to the timeline and the explanation of the official account. The second and third floors are the history of Chengdu from the pre-Qin Dynasty to the Ming and Qing Dynasties. I was deeply impressed by several character sculptures. The Chengdu History [Folklore] on the fourth floor is very good. It introduces Chengdu from all aspects of food, clothing, housing, transportation and entertainment, and combines some technological means to make people feel immersive. The fifth floor is a shadow puppet and puppet exhibition. Because I am not very interested and it is almost closed, I browsed it hastily. The new Chengdu Museum is good in everything, but there is no formal place to eat at noon. Now only the sixth floor has coffee, drinks, cakes and bread, etc., and it is a bit hard for people like me who stay in it for a day because they are not allowed to bring food in.
When you come to Tianfu Square, the best place to understand a city is to visit the museum.
You can go in directly with your ID card. There are 5 floors in total. It is one of the better museums I have visited. The cute stone rhinoceros weighs 8.5 tons and is said to be the treasure of the museum. I still remember the folklore exhibition. Because it introduces Sichuan cuisine, I learned more along the way, but I only remember one thing, that Sichuan cuisine is famous for chili peppers and peppercorns. The fifth floor is a shadow puppet exhibition, which is vividly portrayed.
Chengdu Museum is located in the west of Tianfu Square in the center of Chengdu. The museum has four floors. The first floor is for cultural creation and temporary exhibition halls, and the second, third and fourth floors are basic exhibition halls.
Chengdu is one of the famous cultural cities with a long history in China. The name of Chengdu comes from the historical allusion "King Tai of Zhou moved from Liangshan to Qishan, built a city in one year, and Chengdu in three years, hence the name Chengdu". Around the middle of the 5th century BC, the ninth emperor of the Kaiming Dynasty of the ancient Shu Kingdom moved the capital from Guangdu Fanxiang in Shuangliu County to Chengdu, and began to build the city, which also opened the history of the city of Chengdu.
In 316 BC, the Qin army entered Shu and Shu was destroyed. Qin began to establish Shu County in Shu. General Sima Cuo rebuilt Chengdu City as the capital of Shu County. In the Han Dynasty, Chengdu's brocade industry gradually prospered and became an important source of tax revenue for the court at that time. Therefore, a brocade official was set up in Chengdu to manage it, and "Jinguan City" was built in the southwest of the city. Therefore, later generations also used Jinguan City as another name for Chengdu, abbreviated as "Jincheng".
The museum is next to Tianfu Square and just opened in June 2016. There is a free storage point next to it. It is recommended to store all bags in advance. Liquids are not allowed to be brought in.
It just happened to be the Qianlong special exhibition, which exhibited many treasures transported from the Forbidden City. When the people of Chengdu heard the news, they came to watch and lined up in long queues. The cultural accomplishment of the people of Chengdu is still very high, which can be seen from the orderly queues outside the museum and the well-informed discussions inside the museum.
Of course, you can only watch the excitement here. If you really want to see the exciting things, you still have to go to the Forbidden City in Beijing.
Not long ago, there was a tweet about the "China Museum Hot Search List" on the official WeChat public account of the Chengdu Museum. In the comprehensive index ranking, the National Museum of China was actually ranked second behind the Shanghai Museum. Previously, I had subjectively believed that the National Museum represents the "country" and should be ranked first. Fortunately, in the top 100 list, the Chengdu Museum ranked ninth and the Sichuan Museum ranked twelfth, which are still among the best.
Just across the road from the library (on the south side of Renmin West Road, Shudu Avenue) is the Chengdu Museum (note, not the Sichuan Museum), which mainly spreads Chengdu's history and culture to the public through the collection, protection, research and display of cultural relics, and strives to provide diversified public cultural services for the city. The museum has more than 10,000 cultural relics from the Old/New Stone Age to the Modern/Modern Age, and hundreds of precious cultural relics. The most famous ones are ancient stone carvings and Han Dynasty portrait bricks, which show the magnificent history of Chengdu, a historical and cultural city, from the Neolithic Age to the Opium War from different angles.
When we went there that day, the long queue had extended to the road of Xiyu Street. It seems that tourists from other places also have great interest in Chengdu, a thousand-year-old ancient city. In order not to affect the subsequent sightseeing and check-in process, we could only look at the crowd and bid farewell reluctantly (the heart is there but the time is not enough).
Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday 9:00-20:30 (closed on Monday)
#Today's Watch🐍Bulgari Chengdu Snake Legend [love]
You can make an appointment on the Chengdu Museum's official account. Bring your ID card with you when you go to the site. In fact, there is no inspection.
Those who have made an appointment can queue up first, and those who have made an appointment will have to wait in line under the hot sun... We ignored that it is summer vacation now... There are really many children🧒
There are only three exhibition halls inside; each of them has paintings and exhibits in glass cabinets. I didn’t take so many photos because I was obsessed with taking photos of myself and my friends [smile][smile][smile]
After all, there are so many people; it is still not easy to find a checkpoint that is only for you. You have to occupy a good seat [snicker][snicker]
Reservations can be made through the WeChat official account. Permanent exhibitions include "Flowers in the Brocade City - Exhibition of Chengdu History and Culture" and "Shadow Dances and Puppet Shows - Chinese Shadow Play and Puppet Exhibition".
Permanent exhibitions include "Flowers in the Brocade City - Exhibition of Chengdu History and Culture" and "Shadow Dances and Puppet Shows - Chinese Shadow Play and Puppet Exhibition".
It is high-end, classy and the cultural relics in the collection are very interesting.
It is a very large museum with many cultural and creative products. Each floor has its own cultural and creative store, each with its own focus.
If you want to understand the culture of Chengdu, you must visit the museum.
A great museum with rich content, covering Sichuan and Chongqing history and folk customs. The exhibition hall on the first floor changes its theme regularly. You can take the fast track if you make an appointment in advance.
The Chengdu Museum is a must-visit, with convenient transportation and suitable air conditioning temperature
Bulgari X Chengdu Museum
A cultural feast about snakes
You must check in at the museum. My friend was not very interested and was physically exhausted. He only visited for 4 hours and did not finish it.
Chengdu's newly built museum, designed by a foreign firm, is worth a visit~
The new Chengdu Museum is really good. It has a large space, detailed history, novel displays, many interactive displays, and a good sense of immersion. The pottery figurines are so cute, with smiling expressions. I feel that the pottery figurines look like brothers and sisters, and they look like Liang Tian when they smile~ヾ(●´∇`●)ノ~
I highly recommend the Chengdu Exhibition Hall, where you can learn about the development history of Chengdu. I was originally going to People's Square, but I saw the Chengdu Exhibition Hall when I got out of Tianfu Square. I went to the right place.
The security check at the Chengdu Exhibition Hall is quite strict. Even if there was a bag of Oreos in my bag, they wouldn’t let me in, so I stored my bag.
The Chengdu Museum, which was built in June 2016, is the largest comprehensive museum in Chengdu. It is a modern building located on the west side of Tianfu Square. Here you can not only see the exhibition of Chengdu's historical monuments, but also the modern folk culture exhibition and the Chinese shadow puppet exhibition. You can visit after making an appointment on the museum's official website by swiping your ID card.
Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday 09:00 - 20:30, closes half an hour earlier in winter, closed on Mondays
The newly built museum is opposite Tianfu Square. The venues are arranged in chronological order and the collections are rich. It is worth a visit.
I also looked around the periphery. It is close to Muslim Street and is located in a corner of Tianfu Square.
It is on the west side of Tianfu Square. It was not open when I went there, but it seems that even if it opens, there will be no time to visit.
Located on the west side of Chengdu Tianfu Square, here you can learn about the history of Chengdu from ancient times to the present, see Chengdu’s folk customs, and even watch shadow puppetry performances.
My favorite object in the Chengdu Museum is this group of "rap figurines" unique to the Chengdu area.
This group of pottery figurines is a reproduction of the folk artists of the Han Dynasty in Chengdu. The most exciting one is the artist with his upper chest exposed, his baggy pants have fallen down to his belly, he holds a drum in his left hand and a hammer in his right hand, rapping and dancing, trying his best to attract the audience's attention. You can see that he seems to be talking about the wonderful part, his eyebrows are flying with joy, the wrinkles on his forehead, his squinting eyes, and his proud look, as if we have already felt the happy atmosphere of the storytelling scene thousands of years ago. This may be the earliest rap performance in the world.
This group of humorous and artistically appealing works are a departure from the serious and dull appearance of unearthed cultural relics from other regions. They all have smiling faces and are happy heartily, indicating that the material life in Chengdu at that time had been greatly guaranteed. This is a true reflection of the mental state of the people of that era.
You don't need to buy tickets to visit the Chengdu Museum. You just need to bring your ID card and swipe it to enter. However, the security check is very strict. If you have water, lighters and other items in your bag, you can leave them in the baggage storage before entering the museum. You can just bring your ID card to visit. It is very convenient.
The museum has a total of five floors to visit, mainly telling about the history and culture of Chengdu as well as the Chinese shadow puppet culture. The first floor is the lobby, screening room, and temporary exhibition hall No. 1. The underground floor is temporary exhibition halls No. 2 and No. 3. The second and third floors above ground display the ancient part of Chengdu’s history and culture, the fourth floor is the modern and folk customs section, and the fifth floor is the Chinese shadow puppet exhibition, but we did not see the shadow puppet exhibition because it was temporarily closed.
Compared with the deserted Sichuan Museum, the Chengdu Museum is much better. The appearance of the Chengdu Museum is low-key, luxurious and highly technological. It is located in Tianfu Square in the center of Chengdu, with convenient transportation. There are also the Sichuan Provincial Library, Sichuan Art Museum and Sichuan Science and Technology Museum next to it. If you have plenty of time, you can spend a day to visit them all.
The exterior is like this, and the interior should be like this. I was not disappointed. I went in and found out that Chengdu Museum is the largest comprehensive museum in Chengdu. If I had known this, I would not have gone to Sichuan Provincial Museum. The exhibits in the museum are even more dazzling and priceless. The 5 major topics tell the past and present of Chengdu, with unique cultural charm.
The new Chengdu Museum displays the 4,000-year history of the Chengdu Plain. Here, you can fully appreciate the thousand-year splendor of Chengdu. This largest city museum in the southwest region has more than 200,000 pieces of bronze, gold and silver wares, brick portraits, stone carvings, ceramics, calligraphy and painting, Taoist temple paintings, wood carvings and other cultural relics, which silently tell the vivid history of Chengdu.
The treasure of the town hall:
Stone rhinoceros, lacquered human figures with meridian acupoints, and Han Dynasty stone tablets.
The lighting is great, the exhibition layout is also good. The location is amazing, in Tianfu Square.
A small but beautiful museum, each floor represents a period, telling you the history of Chengdu! The WeChat audio guide is great!
I entered the museum from the side door, and only realized how big it was when I came out. I don't know the true face of Mount Lu, because I am in this mountain. Chengdu Museum is still very user-friendly. There is no charge, but you need to make an appointment. Even if you don't have an appointment, you can show your ID card on site. If you don't have an ID card, you can queue up at the window to get the admission ticket. It's really good to do this in a place of cultural heritage. In addition, a warm reminder to everyone: you can't bring water and food to the museum, and selfie sticks are also prohibited, but there is a place to store bags, so you can rest assured. After you put away your things, you can wander in the ocean of cultural relics. The cultural relics in the history books when I was a child are finally in front of me, and another small wish has been fulfilled.
The new Chengdu Museum is located in Tianfu Square in the city center. It has a superior geographical location and a total of six floors. The first to fifth floors of the basement are exhibition halls, and the sixth floor is a restaurant. If you are tired of sightseeing, you can go to the sixth floor to eat something and take a rest. They are all simple meals and not too expensive. It is recommended that you book tickets online in advance and enter by swiping your ID card. The queue is very long, and it is much easier to make an appointment.
There are shops on each floor, selling decorations, jewelry, jade, and various cultural and creative peripherals. I bought refrigerator magnets, erasers, notebooks, etc., and the quality is good.
The air conditioning in the whole museum is very strong. I had a bowl of hot seafood pasta to warm myself up. The milk tea was not even hot, so I didn't care. Friends who come to visit should remember to bring a coat, especially children, who are prone to catching colds if they fall asleep after a long walk.
There is a mysterious Sanxingdui head in the museum. Not being able to find time to go to the Sanxingdui Museum has always been a regret of my trip. I have longed for this mysterious museum for a long time. There is only one head on display in Chengdu Museum. However, from this head alone, we can already see the fine craftsmanship at that time. Chengdu Museum has a series of music figurines, various musical instruments, and various postures, but this one should be the most famous. I have seen it in many books and on TV. And I feel that this is also the most festive. I am happy to see it~~~~ The stone cow in the museum is actually used as a water level mark in Dujiangyan. It looks silly and cute. There are also small objects with this image in the museum, which are even cuter when they are reduced.
Experience: I spent two hours and forty minutes visiting the history, shadow puppetry, modern history and folk culture halls on three floors. My waist almost broke. The museum must be the fastest place to understand the history and customs of a city. The scattered historical nodes and scattered cultural relics are all organized. There are also various explanation methods to assist. It is really better to travel thousands of miles than to read thousands of books.
After visiting the exhibition, I sorted out the history of Chengdu, learned about the characteristics of shadow puppets in Shaanxi, Sichuan and other provinces, and explored the folk customs of Sichuan up close. This reporter's writing skills are not solid, so the specific content is left for everyone to learn and experience.
The exhibition hall distribution map is arranged in a timeline, from the first floor Qin and Shu bronzes, pre-Qin to the Northern and Southern Dynasties, Sui and Tang to Ming and Qing, modern Sichuan folk culture introduction, etc. Overall, this hall is very good to visit.
I think museums are magical places where you can have a dialogue with history through cultural relics. It is worthwhile for everyone to visit them and discover the beauty of cultural relics.
The Chengdu Museum has a total collection of nearly 200,000 pieces, forming a relatively complete collection sequence from the Neolithic Age to the Republic of China period. The types include bronzes, gold and silver wares, picture bricks, stone carvings, ceramics, calligraphy and painting, furniture, shadow puppets, puppets, Taoist paintings, masks, wood carvings, etc., which have formed a scale and system in both quantity and quality.
The Chengdu Museum has a total of six floors. If you have time, you must visit all of them, because it covers the Qin-Shu Road Bronze Civilization - Pre-Qin to Northern and Southern Dynasties - Sui and Tang to Ming and Qing Dynasties - Chengdu's modern history - Chengdu folk customs - Shadow Play and Puppet Exhibition. It is best to visit them all.
Shadow play and puppet show on the sixth floor.

Chengdu Museum is definitely the biggest unexpected highlight of this short trip. There are very few people in the museum, and you can quietly listen to the WeChat explanation while visiting, which is very pleasant. There is also an observation deck and a coffee shop on the roof, which is a great feeling. This is definitely a hidden attraction worth seeing.
Museums are always the best place to learn about a city's past and present. So museums in every city are a must-visit for me, especially those in cities with a deep historical heritage.
The ancient Shu culture of Sichuan Shu is strange and mysterious to me. I gained a lot from walking around the museum quietly. Now the museum has audio guides, which is very convenient.
Go inside and scan the WeChat account for the explanation. It takes about two hours to listen to the whole thing. I died after listening to one floor.
If it is between Sichuan Museum and Chengdu Museum, I would choose Chengdu Museum, which mainly introduces the development of Chengdu from primitive society to modern society, including Sanxingdui culture and modern revolution. However, my favorite is the Shadow Play Museum, which introduces the shadow play styles from all over the country. It is great.
It is a place worth visiting, arranged in timeline, integrating history, culture and folk customs.
The most advanced and complete museum in Chengdu, where you can fully understand the history and culture of Chengdu
It's quite big, has many layers, and feels pretty good.
Just like any other museum in the city.
After seeing the cultural relics emoticons shown below, which were previously very popular on the Internet, in the museum, I felt that Chengdu people’s talent for comedy is indeed in their genes.
If you want to learn more about the history of Chengdu, the land of abundance, the Chengdu Museum is a must-visit place. The museum has a history of more than 50 years, and the exhibits inside are all examples of Bashu culture.
It is right next to Tianfu Square. You can get in for free by swiping your ID card. It is really nice inside. The underground floor is an art exhibition, and the second, third and fourth floors are exhibitions of ancient relics from various dynasties.
It is a very large museum. It is recommended to enter after 4 pm. There are still many people in the morning and afternoon, but fewer people in the evening. Entry is based on ID card.
The half-length giant panda dolls in the Chengbo gift shop are so cute. I really think they look like the giant panda Qifu, Shunguo and Laimei’s mom~~~
Because the closing time of Chengdu Museum during the peak season was extended to 8:30 p.m., we deliberately chose to avoid the peak travel time. We set out from the hotel at 3:30 p.m., took the subway to Tianfu Square Station, and arrived at Chengdu Museum for a visit at 4 o'clock.
There are two official lectures at Chengdu Museum every morning at 10:30 and afternoon at 2:30, and volunteers give lectures at irregular intervals on each floor in the afternoon. When we went there, we happened to encounter the last volunteer lecture on the second floor. It was a very professional and knowledgeable lady, who spoke clearly, spoke well, and made some jokes from time to time. I learned a lot of historical knowledge by following her lectures. According to the lady, there is also a super powerful god-level figure among the volunteers. He can speak vividly and interestingly, citing classics for three to four hours in the exhibition hall on the second floor alone. However, the god's appearance time is uncertain, so we can't wait, and we can only rely on fate.
Tips for visiting Chengdu Museum:
1. Chengdu Museum is free to visit, no tickets are required, and you can enter with your ID card;
2. The opening hours of Chengdu Museum from May to October are from 9:00 am to 8:30 pm, and it is closed every Monday;
3. There will be one official lecture every day at 10:30 am and 2:30 pm;
4. If you miss the official tour, you can follow the official WeChat public account, which has a very professional audio guide;
5. You can take photos in the museum, but please turn off the flash, don't make loud noises, and visit in a civilized manner;
6. The shadow puppet show on the fifth floor is worth seeing, the folk exhibition hall on the fourth floor is particularly interesting, and the collections on the second and third floors are very shocking. If you want to see them all carefully, a whole day is not enough;
7. You need to go through security check before entering the museum. You are not allowed to bring food. It is recommended not to bring water because drinking water is not allowed in the exhibition hall. You can only drink water in the corridors and visitor rest areas.
It is recommended to start from the 2nd floor, read the history of Chengdu in order of dynasties, then go to the 5th floor to watch the shadow play, and the 1st floor to see the temporary exhibition.
As a history illiterate, I listened to the official account, read the introduction in the museum, and searched Baidu, but I really learned a lot of historical knowledge, as if I had experienced it from the pre-Qin Dynasty to the modern times. I rarely went to museums before, and I just looked around when I went there. This time, I felt great while listening to the explanation.
There is a folk museum on the 4th floor. After listening to the heavy history, come and see the folk customs to relax. There are introductions to Sichuan cuisine, tea culture, drama, etc. The simulated scenes are really interesting! I visited the ancient shopping malls and restaurants and had a good time.
The shadow play exhibition hall on the 5th floor shocked me as soon as I entered. The shadow play with the lights was really beautiful. There was also a puppet show later. It was late at around 6 o'clock, and I was the only one in the exhibition hall. The puppets were a bit scary.
Chengdu Museum is definitely a place you must visit to fully understand the history and folk customs of Chengdu.
Follow the official account, and you will find that many cultural relics have audio introductions, which play an important role in helping you understand the cultural relics.
Although only a part of the Sanxingdui cultural relics are on display here, it is enough to give you goosebumps. This mysterious culture that we have only read about in books has always been of great interest to us.
Personally, I am more accustomed to the Chengdu Museum. You can skip the Sichuan Museum, but you must come to the Chengdu Museum.
The Chengdu Museum is more prestigious than the Sichuan Museum, and the local culture you can learn about is richer and more down-to-earth.
Chengdu Museum is located on the west side of Tianfu Square in Qingyang District, Chengdu. The collections are a microcosm of Chengdu's thousand-year history, ranging from the Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors to the Anti-Japanese War, all of which reflect the characteristics of the ancient Shu civilization and the Sichuan people. In addition, there are many folk customs and stories waiting for everyone to uncover. The opening hours are from Tuesday to Sunday 9:00-20:30 (closed on Monday). Generally, there are fewer people in the morning, and you can enter with your ID card.
Chengdu Museum (right next to Tianfu Square), there are many types of shared bicycles at the entrance, it is very convenient to park or pick up the bicycles... The museum has an exhibition of ancient Afghan treasures, and there was a long queue. We had limited time, so we didn’t go...
Chengdu Museum is located next to Tianfu Square, with convenient transportation. Since its opening, it has held many temporary exhibitions, which have attracted widespread attention online. Of course, the permanent exhibition is also good. It not only displays the historical relics of Chengdu, but also borrows relics from many museums in Sichuan Province. It has the potential to replace the Sichuan Provincial Museum. You can make an appointment online in advance before going. The appointment channel is relatively less crowded, which reduces the waiting time in line.
It's free, you can enter by swiping your ID card, and the queue is actually very fast.
This is my second time to Chengdu Museum, and I have a different feeling.
Chengdu Museum is the largest comprehensive museum in Chengdu, with a history of more than 50 years. In 1958, the Preparatory Committee of Chengdu Geographical Museum was established; in 1974, Chengdu Cultural Relics Management Office was established; in 1982, Chengdu integrated relevant cultural relics management agencies to form Chengdu Museum, located in Daci Temple, Dongfeng Road, Chengdu, and officially opened to the public in 1984; in 2009, the foundation stone of the new Chengdu Museum was laid; in June 2016, the new Chengdu Museum was completed and opened.
2018.4.7 When I went to Chengdu Museum in the morning, there were a lot of people queuing up. My friend told me that it would not close until 8pm, so I decided to go to Tianfu Square and Chunxi Road first and then watch a movie. When I went to the museum at 4pm, there were indeed not many people! Pay attention!!! The museum closes at 8pm in summer. Students who don’t like the hustle and bustle can choose to go around 4pm.
Besides, the exhibits on the first floor are the Echoes of Civilization, Afghan Cultural Relics Special Exhibition, Figures 1-10. Forgive my poor skills, I can only feel them. You have to see them with your own eyes to appreciate the brilliance of those details. The special exhibition ends on May 9th
From 2-5 floors conventional exhibition
The second floor of the Pre-Qin to Northern and Southern Dynasties History Exhibition has the famous Laoguanshan Han Tomb meridian lacquer figure and a large number of bamboo slips medical books and replicas of textile wheels. Although they are replicas, we have to admire the wisdom of the ancients. If you are interested in the Laoguanshan Han Tomb, you can search for a documentary on Station B that explains it in great detail.
The 3rd floor is from the Sui and Tang Dynasties to the Qing Dynasty, with a large number of porcelains and gold and silver wares that are very exquisite.
4th floor modern history (the folk exhibition hall is very interesting)
5-layer shadow play
If you only want to see the special exhibition, you can finish it in an hour and a half. If you want to see all of them, it may take a whole day because it is a bit rushed to start in the afternoon.
You can make an appointment online one day in advance or enter by swiping your ID card on the day. There are really a lot of people!
In terms of cultural and creative products, emmmmm, if it were uglier, it might really be ugly and cute, but it's a pity that it only stays at the ugly level. You can bring a notebook or postcard to the cultural and creative store on the third or fourth floor. There is a postage stamp in the shape of the day that can be stamped.
It is best to do your homework in advance and learn a little about the stories behind the cultural relics. This will be very interesting.
It is not recommended to bring children under five years old. I saw two very young children. One of them cried and shouted to go out, saying it was boring, but was forced by his father to watch it. He said he didn't want to watch it, but he had to watch it. Another one was probably too tired and was dragged and slid on the floor... Parents can't watch the children properly, so they suffer too.
If you have time when you arrive at Tianfu Square, don't miss the Chengdu Museum, where you can see, learn and rest. You can see Tianfu Square from the rest corridor upstairs.
When we arrived at the Chengdu Museum by bike, there was already a long queue at the entrance. There were quite a few people who came to learn about the history of this city. We waited in line for nearly an hour and had a lot of twists and turns in the security check. No food allowed in, put it back in the bag! Selfie sticks are not allowed in, put them back in the bag again! Remember, these are not allowed in, everyone should store them next time you come.
Chengdu Museum is located on the west side of Tianfu Square in Chengdu, adjacent to Sichuan Provincial Library, Sichuan Art Museum, and Sichuan Science and Technology Museum. It is the largest city museum in the southwest region. Placing such a museum in the center of the city can be said to reflect the connotation, vision and foresight of a city. The five major topics in the museum tell the past and present of Chengdu, the "Jinguan City" in Du Fu's poems. Follow the official account to listen to the audio explanation, from the ancient Stone Age to the Republic of China period. It is full of dry goods and knowledge. It took nearly four hours to visit the whole process, which was a test of leg strength.
The museum is in Tianfu Square. If you want to go, please follow the official account in advance. Please note that it is closed on Mondays and cannot be visited.
This is a place worth spending half a day or even more time to slowly visit. The museum is usually closed on Mondays. You can follow the WeChat public account to make an appointment in advance. At that time, you can go through the appointment channel to reduce waiting time. Remember to bring your ID card.
Chengdu Museum has a total of six floors. The stone rhinoceros at the entrance on the first floor is huge yet cute, and the introductory video next to it is also very humorous and interesting.
What impressed me most was the queen's dress, which was elegant and magnificent, and the Shu brocade was so beautiful. Time was short, so I just took a quick look around, and I will go to see it next time.

Mainly to understand the cultural history of Chengdu. There are not many things. The most amazing thing is the stone cow. Must see

2018.1.21 Liangzi and I visited the Chengdu Museum near Tianfu Square. The collection is quite good and rich. It is worth a visit.
When traveling, I like to go to museums. This is the fastest way to understand the culture and development of a city! Personally, I think the best part is the "shadow puppet" floor!
My bestie came from Hubei. When we were discussing where to go, she unexpectedly found out that we were both following "National Treasure", so we chose to go to the museum without a doubt. After arriving in the afternoon, we swiped our ID cards to enter. We started the tour from the second floor, which talked about the history of Chengdu from the Pre-Qin Dynasty to the Northern and Southern Dynasties. We followed the voice navigation, which was very exciting and detailed. The third floor is the history of Chengdu from the Sui and Tang Dynasties to the Ming and Qing Dynasties. We happened to meet the volunteer who was explaining. I personally feel that entering the museum by yourself is definitely different from the feeling of being guided by someone. The guide will make us feel that this relic has a smell, proving that the history of Chengdu is fragrant; it will make us see that this relic has color, proving that the history of Chengdu is golden!
The fourth floor is about Chengdu's modern history and folk customs.
The fifth floor is for shadow play and puppetry
It is worth a visit. This museum mainly introduces the history of Chengdu, from the pre-Qin Dynasty to modern Chengdu. There are free guides starting at 2:30 pm, and they will talk about it layer by layer. There is also a Shu Brocade Cultural Exhibition this afternoon. Unfortunately, I didn't finish it because of time constraints. It's a pity! There is a storage place at the entrance of the museum. Food and water cannot be brought in. The public services inside are very good, with wifi. Follow the official account to get app broadcasts.
Chengdu Museum is the largest comprehensive museum in Chengdu. It is located on the west side of Tianfu Square, very close to the library, art gallery and science and technology museum. If you want to take an academic tour, this area is enough for you to visit for two days. The museum has a very detailed display of Chengdu's history and culture. The exhibits span from the ancient Stone Age to the Republic of China period, and the space mainly involves the administrative divisions of the current 9 districts, 6 counties and 4 cities in Chengdu.
People who don't know the history of ancient Chengdu always think that it is located in the southwest and must be a barbarian land. In fact, it is not like that. As early as the Shang and Zhou dynasties, it had deep contact with the mainland. In the Warring States period, the Qin State completed the feat of unification because it owned the Sichuan Basin.
The most treasured item in the museum is this cute stone rhinoceros. It is said to be made before the Western Jin Dynasty. It is the earliest and largest round stone sculpture unearthed in Chengdu, and has a very high archaeological and artistic value. This stone rhinoceros has also been designated as the mascot of the Chengdu Museum, and it is really hard to put down.
This complete human body lacquer statue with meridian points unearthed from the Han Tomb of "Laoguanshan" is about 14 cm tall, with accurate facial features and limbs. The meridian lines and acupoints painted in white or red on the body are clearly visible, and small characters such as "heart", "lung", "kidney" and "pelvis" are engraved on different parts. It is the earliest and most complete human body medical model of meridian points found in my country so far. Compared with the meridian medical books unearthed from the tomb, it is of great significance to reveal the origin and development of the meridian acupuncture theory of Chinese medicine.
After visiting the ancient and modern exhibition halls, continue walking up to the exhibitions of Chengdu folk customs and local shadow puppetry, which are also worth seeing.
