The Hongyuan grassland is very large and beautiful. The grassland here is not as flat and wide as the one in Inner Mongolia, but is composed of rolling mountains, which has a very three-dimensional feel.

Hongyuan Prairie is located in Sichuan Province, on the eastern edge of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, on the snow-capped grasslands of northwestern Sichuan, and in the central part of Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture. Hongyuan Prairie has a vast territory, unique natural landscape, and rich resources, and is known as the "Golden and Silver Beach" of the plateau.

The mountains became flatter and flatter, the meadows became more and more obvious, and in the distance, more and more black herds of yaks appeared in our field of vision.

After crossing Chazhenliangzi, we officially entered the heart of the grassland. The rain gradually became less frequent, and the blue sky had peeked through the dark clouds. There were fewer and fewer people along the road, but more and more yaks.

After driving for a while, there is a horse farm organized by Tibetans, which is equivalent to a viewing platform. You can ride horses and stay overnight. A horse ride costs ￥30 per round. At the beginning, it was very novel. I always had to stop to take pictures and ride horses. I couldn't suppress my inner excitement. The accommodation conditions were too simple, especially in terms of personal hygiene. It was very inconvenient. I was a little tempted at the beginning, but after seeing two hotels, I completely gave up.

The Hongyuan grassland is flat and boundless. The vast grassland is a world of meadows, swamps, yaks, prayer flags and flowers.

It's quite good. The area is large. There are not many cars on the road. It feels great to drive on the prairie.

Hongyuan is still a niche area, so you can spend half a day there if you pass by.

I have been there many times and the scenery and feelings are different every time. The beautiful western Sichuan plateau.

After touring the first bend of the Yellow River, we headed straight to Hongyuan County, passing the beautiful Hongyuan grassland.

I was lucky enough to experience primitive life here for a few days. It was very primitive and magnificently beautiful.

The Red Army crossed the grassland, which was an endless prairie and swamp. The temperature in Hongyuan was below zero at the end of September. In the absence of oxygen on the plateau, the old Red Army not only walked out of the grassland, but also climbed the snow-capped mountains. It was amazing!

I have to say that the environment of Hongyuan Prairie is very well protected. There are garbage-free demonstration areas along the way, and there will be cleaners picking up garbage. I urge everyone not to litter if you travel there.

Classic grassland, the provincial road runs along the Yellow River, the scenery is amazing.

In reality, there is only a small piece, and it is far less magnificent than the fake photos on the Internet.

We did not choose to visit the scenic area, because the scenery on the road is the most beautiful in the real plateau grassland, and there are wild flowers everywhere near Hongyuan, so there is no need to spend money to go to the scenic area to squeeze with people.

Because the number of tourists has increased in recent years, the herders have started some small businesses, including farm stays and horseback riding. However, you still need to confirm before entering to avoid unnecessary misunderstandings.

We got off the car to take pictures at a place with a lot of flowers. This should be where the herdsmen usually graze. Two herdsmen charged 3 yuan per person at the fence. It was a reasonable price~~

The local Tibetans probably also like to go out into the wild and play. Along the way, we saw many families having picnics and chatting on the grass. Life should be so comfortable.

The road conditions on the grassland highway are very good all the way, with blue sky and white clouds, the mood is not too good~~

On August 6, I caught the annual Yak Music Festival in Hongyuan. Tickets were 100 yuan per person, and children over 1.2 meters tall had to pay full price. Stars that day included Pu Shu and Power Train. It felt great to listen to cool music on the grassland and integrate with everyone here. I am very grateful to the organizers and security who are in place.

I suggest you go in July or August. I went there on May Day and the grass was all yellow, but I remember there was a road with snow-capped mountains in the distance. We were the only car on the road and it was very beautiful.

There are rivers and passes on the Hongyuan grassland, and yaks are walking on the grass under the blue sky and white clouds.

From Tangke to Aba County, you will pass through Hongyuan County. The most famous thing about Hongyuan County is the Hongyuan Grassland, which is as famous as the Ruoergai Grassland.

We passed by a grassland full of wild flowers. Opposite to us was a post station. We asked the staff at the post station if we could go there to take pictures. They replied that it was 5 yuan per person and we could take as many pictures as we wanted. We were very surprised. It was really not expensive. The staff kept explaining that it was really not expensive here. The park in front cost more than 50 yuan for tickets, which was not even half as much as here.

There are so many flowers! They are beautiful no matter how you take pictures! And the sky was especially great that day, with a very blue sky and very white clouds!

After taking photos for more than 10 minutes, I took photos of my companions in various flying poses and then retreated! After driving a few kilometers, I went up a hillside and saw the whole grassland!

I mainly like the endless grasslands. I recommend going in June, July, and August. You can ride horses on the grasslands and feel the tranquility and vastness that you don’t have in big cities. In the city, everyone works hard to make a living.

Here you can yell and let yourself go

Hongyuan-Zuoergai Grassland is located in Hongyuan County and Zoige County in the northeast of Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture. It is the largest grassland in Sichuan Province, covering an area of ​​nearly 30,000 square kilometers, consisting of meadow grassland and swamp. The grassland is flat, boundless and sparsely populated. The Red Army passed through here many times during the 25,000-mile Long March, leaving behind many moving stories and revolutionary sites, making the grassland famous both at home and abroad.



In the southern part of the prairie, the Partridge Mountain stands tall and majestic, with the snow on the top of the mountain magnificent; the virgin forest, snow-capped mountain grassland and river valley agriculture complement each other. It is one of the three major wetlands in my country, and within its territory is the beautiful and moving "First Bend of the Nine-Bend Yellow River".



Famous grasslands include Reerba Grassland, Songpan Grassland and Hongyuan Grassland, which gather a large number of migratory birds and wild animals such as white swans and sika deer. Scenic spots include deer farms, Sun Lake, Baiwa Temple, Dagze Temple, etc. The river is winding and swaying, and Niu'e Lake is dotted with stars, forming a unique bay scenery. The grassland is one of the three major grassland pastoral areas in the country and a shining pearl on the scenery of the northwest Sichuan grassland.



Hongyuan-Ruoergai Prairie is where Tibetan nomads live. The customs of Hongyuan Tibetans are to respect the elders and the young, to respect the gods in everything, and to present Hada to elders and friends. The scenery and customs here are unique, and the golden Buddhist temples are nestled in the mountains and by the water. From June to September, the prairie is clear and refreshing, with sunrise, tents, smoke, green grass, colorful flowers, cattle and sheep everywhere, pastoral songs, birds flying and fish jumping, and the sunset glow when the herdsmen return. The scenery is intoxicating. Summer is the golden season of the prairie, where the sky is clear and the visibility is very high. Between heaven and earth, there are green grass, colorful flowers, faint fragrance, and endless. There are countless small lakes dotted in the grassland, the lake water is blue, and the small rivers are like vines connecting large and small lakes. The river water is clear and you can see the bottom, and you can count the fish swimming.

Hongyuan Grassland and Ruoergai Grassland are two characteristic grasslands in Sichuan Province. In fact, they are all in one piece and cannot be separated. If you have time and interest, you can drive slowly to visit them. When you are tired, just find a place to get off and walk around. There are grasslands all around. It is also a good place to escape the heat in summer!

It's really, really beautiful here! Although it was early winter when I came here, I can still feel the unique beauty of its plateau meadows. This feeling is different from Hulunbuir. It is better protected and purer here. I will come here again in different seasons! Love it!

Unlike the long grass in Inner Mongolia, where the wind blows the grass low and you can see the cattle and sheep, the grass here is shorter and smaller, and belongs to the type where "horse hooves can only be hidden in shallow grass". The endless grassland, the road stretches all the way to the horizon. The road condition of S301 is good, and there are not many cars along the way, so you can enjoy the pleasure of galloping on the grassland road. It is difficult to distinguish the boundaries of the grassland. The driver said that this place belongs to the Hongyuan Grassland. Maybe it is because of the high altitude, or maybe it is because there are no high-rise buildings and other contrasting objects, the clouds seem to be very low, and there is a feeling of a large army approaching, and the shape of the clouds is also very strange, as if they were cut flat by a knife.

The vast grassland is full of beautiful flowers of various colors. Unfortunately, the area near the road is surrounded by wire.

Hongyuan Grassland is so different from Ruoergai Grassland. It is a pity that we did not stop at Ruoergai Grassland but went directly to Hongyuan Grassland. The grass quality, scenery and facilities are not as good as Ruoergai Grassland. The most annoying thing is that we rode horses in Hongyuan on August 2. The horses for tourists to ride here are completely untamed. They lost control even when someone was leading them, causing me to fall off the horse. I ended the trip in a hurry and suffered internal bleeding. I was hospitalized for 20 days. I was extremely disappointed.

Most people go directly to the Hongyuan Prairie on Provincial Highway 209. In fact, Provincial Highway 301 is more beautiful. From Galitai, you can keep going along the mountain beside the prairie. The scenery of Riganqiao is also very good. Finally, Provincial Highway 301 intersects with Provincial Highway 209 at Wache. Provincial Highway 209 goes north to the Jiuqu Yellow River First Bay Scenic Area and Ruoergai County, passes through Hongyuan County to the south, and then passes through the Moon Bay Scenic Area. Then the provincial road on the right can go to Aba County, and then reach Chazhen Liangzi at an altitude of about 3,800 meters. After Liangzi, you will pass through the Emutang Flower Sea. There is Provincial Highway 302 on the left to go to Heishui and Maoxian. Finally, it passes through the Shuajing Temple and intersects with National Highway 317 to reach Maerkang City, the capital of Aba.

Besides the grassland, there are yaks. If you like blue sky and white clouds, you can go for a walk and see the sea of ​​flowers in Emotang. It is a world of difference compared to Nianbao Yuze. It is enough to stop by and take a few photos.

Hongyuan Prairie is located in Hongyuan County, Sichuan Province. It is a vast grassland covered with green grass. When we went there in June, we first went to Ruoergai Prairie and then to Hongyuan Prairie. The difference between the two grasslands is that Ruoergai Prairie has many small yellow flowers, but Hongyuan Prairie has none. Maybe the flowers in Hongyuan bloom later. The weather was very good. Under the blue sky and white clouds, there were herds of cattle and sheep on the grassland. There were not many tourists on the huge grassland. We cheered to our heart's content on the grassland.

The Hongyuan grassland 31 years ago was simple and natural. I miss it~

When the weather is good, the grassland is like a painting everywhere. I drank butter tea in the Zang family tent on the roadside and bought yogurt.

Bring a tent to look for flowers during the Hongyuan Flower❀❀ period. It's good, but the toilets🚽 are annoying. Sing folk songs or local people build their own sheds. You know, sunscreen must be prepared. There are many local people who use wire fences. It's a small scenic spot. No tents, only parking. The price is 20. Tents are set up. You have to pay more when you go out. You have to ride a horse. It's not comfortable to ride without running. There are many yogurts. It's not bad to add some sugar.

Hongyuan Grassland does not seem as beautiful as Ruoergai Grassland, but there are more wetlands and rivers here.

Hongyuan Prairie is beautiful and vast, with beautiful flower sea scenic spots, majestic snow-capped mountains and forests, and profound Red Army Long March culture. People here also sing and love to dance. They are full of special feelings for horses, cattle and sheep. In summer, there are horse racing festivals and mountain circumambulation meetings everywhere. Everywhere is a sea of ​​herdsmen singing and dancing. The grassland is their home, and the grassland gives them a broad mind!

If you go to Hongyuan in June or July every year, you will see a sea of ​​flowers. It is also nice to go there in late October.

From Jiuzhaigou to Maerkang, we passed Hongyuan Grassland. It is a very large grassland. We drove for several hours and it was all Hongyuan. You can often see self-driving parks and self-driving camps. I heard there is also a horse racing here. I hope I can have the opportunity to experience it in the future.

This is the Hongyuan Prairie. Moon Bay is on the prairie not far away. It belongs to the upper reaches of the Yellow River. Since it is the dry season now, there is almost no water, so I didn’t go there and could only take a look at it from a distance.

Although it is not as vast as the Inner Mongolia prairie, the unique climate of the plateau brings a special desolate feeling to the prairie in autumn, with a particularly blue sky and white clouds. I will come again in summer (June-July), when the prairie is the most beautiful with green grass and unknown flowers blooming everywhere under the blue sky.

Although you can't see green grass and wild flowers everywhere in Hongyuan in late autumn, this season presents a different scenery, with golden grasslands in the sun, set against the sea and white clouds.

The Tibetan driver told us that traveling to Hongyuan without friends is not fun, and that there are scams everywhere, such as dried beef and so on. In fact, I knew it a long time ago, so I never buy souvenirs or gifts when traveling. And through chatting, I learned that the driver's family has more than 200 yaks. It turns out that he is a rich man. Who knows that he also said that his family has less yaks, and there are more than 700 or 800 yaks. More than an hour later, we arrived near Hongyuan. The Tibetan driver changed a small car and continued to take us to the county town. He wished us to be safe along the way. Thank you. There is still no shuttle bus in Hongyuan

The sun shines on the river, and the rising water vapor makes the Niyang River full of fantasy. If Moon Bay is also under the sun at this time, its beauty should be the same as that of the Niyang River.

If you want to go to the grassland, you really have to choose the right time, either to see the flowers blooming or to see the yellow grassland in autumn. When we went there, the flowering period was almost over, and we basically didn't see the sea of ​​flowers on the grassland, but it was still very beautiful. The grassland grass was very lush, and large groups of yaks were cruising on the grassland. Occasionally, when we crossed the road, we had to wait for these behemoths, followed by herders who rode on horseback. When the weather was good, the prayer flags were very beautiful in the sun. If you go there, you must ride a horse, and you must try the yak yogurt. Fresh yak yogurt with sugar is delicious. The weather on the plateau grassland is changeable, so you must pay attention to sun protection and cold protection.

This clear stream that will eventually flow into the Yellow River meanders on the green grassland, wide or narrow, as smooth as a mirror, reflecting white clouds, distant mountains, and fluttering colorful prayer flags. Hongyuan is named after the Red Army that walked through this grassland and stationed here. Like Ruoergai, the Hongyuan grassland under the clear sky does not show the terrifying sight of man-eating, but has endless grassland scenery.

We stopped so many times that I can’t remember how many times we stopped along the way. In the words of Master Wang, it was a tabletop, how could we not get off and take a look? !

Crossing the Hongyuan prairie, the sky after the rain was washed a transparent blue, and even the road surface was glowing blue. Following the sunset, colorful clouds appeared, imprinting on the prairie.

As beautiful as Ruoergai Prairie, but Hongyuan Prairie is wider and has more wetlands on the flat land!!!

It is connected to the Ruoergai Grassland. In fact, it is a bit unclear to distinguish the dividing line. July and August are the most beautiful months of the year. It is humid in the morning and evening. You can fly directly from Chengdu to Hongyuan, which saves time, but you can only charter a car except for the airport.

The average annual sunshine is 2417 hours, the longest in 1970, reaching 2644 hours, and the shortest in 1961, reaching 2095 hours. The average annual precipitation is 753 mm, 80% of which is concentrated in May to October. The average annual snow cover period is 76 days, up to 3 months, and the shortest is about 2 months.



We arrived at Moon Bay at 8:20, took some photos and then left for Dagu Glacier. There is no entrance fee to Moon Bay, only 10 yuan for parking.

When we passed Hongyuan on the way, guess what we saw, snow! Yes, you read that right, it was hailing in Tangke and snowing in Hongyuan, which made us very happy, because snow is rare in the south. Although the snow is not heavy, it is amazing to see snow in this season. We quickly asked the driver to stop the car and we got off to take pictures.

It was a sad day. We started from Tangke, passed through Wache and came to Hongyuan, and then ran from Hongyuan to Heishui. But the sky was full of clouds all day, the blue sky and white clouds seemed like a different world! The scenery also seemed bleak... I stayed in Heishui at night, and I was very disappointed with the Moon Bay in Hongyuan. The sky was always dark and there was no color. It was autumn, and everything was desolate.
