It was still early when we returned to Chengdu from Danba, so we planned to cross Jiajin Mountain from Xiaojin County to Baoxing, Ya'an, and then return to Chengdu. Instead, we unexpectedly encountered the most beautiful scenery. We even saw a sea of clouds! It was truly stunning! From the lake at the foot of the mountain to the meadows and then to the sea of clouds on the mountain, it felt like four seasons had passed.

"Crossing the snow-capped Jiajin Mountain"—when I hear the name Jiajin Mountain, I think of this line from my elementary school textbook. Jiajin Mountain was the first snow-capped mountain traversed by the Red Army during the Long March, and wild giant pandas have occasionally been spotted there. Of course, times have changed, and now you can drive unimpeded. Heading north along Jiajin Mountain, you'll reach Siguniang Mountain in Xiaojin County!

Strictly speaking, Jiajin Mountain isn't a specific scenic spot, but rather an area. Driving north from Baoxing toward Xiaojin County, the entire area is part of the Jiajin Mountain Scenic Area, allowing visitors to wander freely along the way. There's no entrance fee. The main peak, at 4,930 meters above sea level, is the source of the Qingyi River. Going upstream, you'll find dense primeval forests, steep cliffs on both sides, deep valleys, clear lakes, splashing waterfalls, and wildlife aplenty.

Passing by Jiajin Mountain and walking on the snow-capped mountains, it was so beautiful and shocking!

By Lemon |

The road to Jiajin Mountain was rugged, and debris from landslides could be seen along the way. The Tibetan driver played melodious Tibetan songs in the car, and we joined in the singing. At that moment, our worries drifted away with the music. Perhaps this is the meaning of travel. I envied the yaks in the mountains, grazing carefree every day in this natural environment. The driver stopped the car, and we thought about chasing the yaks as we ran across the hills covered with wildflowers. The altitude was now over 4,000 meters.

At the top of Jiajin Mountain, the sunlight shines through the clouds like an oil painting, and everything is frozen in my mind.

By Time Thief |

In July and August, the top of the mountain is covered with a large amount of water vapor, as if it is from the sky. It is recommended to bring a camera to take pictures. The winding mountain road is very long and it takes about an hour and a half to cross the mountain. Drivers are advised to be prepared.

It's a place worth visiting. There was still snow on the top of the mountain during the May Day holiday. Standing on the top of the mountain, you can see the snow-capped peaks.

By pineapple |

Except for some landslides on the road, which made the road uneven, the scenery along the way was still more beautiful.

By Dali Xiaoxi |

Jiajin Mountain is a very nice place, but because of its location, few people go there just for the sake of it. But after all, beautiful scenery is beautiful scenery. If you go there, you will find that Jiajin Mountain is definitely worth the trip.

This time I saw the beautiful scenery of Jiajin Mountain. I feel that I haven't learned Chinese well. I am at a loss for words and don't know how to describe its beauty! I can only post nine photos at a time, so I have to post a group to share with everyone~

I didn't expect to see so much snow in April or May. The scenery along the way is nice and worth a visit. It was the first snow mountain that the Red Army crossed during the Long March. I admire it! ! !

It is best to bring anti-skid chains and go when the weather is good.

One of the important scenic spots of Sichuan Red Tourism, with beautiful mountains and clear waters and pleasant scenery

I went there on New Year's Day in 2018. Overall it was okay. If you haven't been there, you can give it a try.

Jiajin Mountain, a mountain with red significance, now has many main roads and roads that are damaged. There is no accommodation on the top of the mountain, so you need to bring your own tent. If the weather is good, you can see the starry sky and the sea of clouds!

By see the way |

The scenery on both sides of Jiajin Mountain is very beautiful, and the colorful forests in autumn are very nice.

By Qingfengber |

If you are lucky, you will see snow and sea of clouds, but you need some driving skills.

By Seuysiro |

The Red Army Plains Primitive Forest and Jinhaizi along the way are free, so you can bring a picnic blanket and prepare your lunch box to spend the day.

Jiajin Mountain is located in Baoxing County, Ya'an City, Sichuan Province. It is a provincial scenic spot and a national forest park. It is the first snow-capped mountain crossed by the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army during the 25,000-mile Long March. It is also the only way from Ya'an to Xiaojin Siguniang Mountain.

Jiajin Mountain, also known as the Great Snow Mountain, is renowned for its snowy scenery. Dense primeval forests and captivating natural scenery abound, with glittering snow-capped peaks. The main peak, at 4,930 meters above sea level, is the source of the Qingyi River. Journey upstream, and you'll find steep cliffs on both sides, deep valleys, crystal-clear lakes, splashing waterfalls, and abundant wildlife, creating a breathtaking natural landscape.

Jiajin Mountain is unique for its alpine lakes, Red Army relics and ethnic customs. The Great Snow Mountain and the Giant Panda Semi-Wild Reserve cleverly combine the natural ecology to form a dynamic natural landscape painting. It is a high-quality Giant Panda ecotourism line introduced to the world.

Looking at the pictures on the Internet, I originally thought it was a place like Jiuzhaigou with river beaches and woods, so we set off lightly, wearing cloth shoes and short sleeves to climb the snow-capped mountains. The mountain is really beautiful, with thick snow. Every few meters there are small stalls set up by locals, selling water, barbecued meat skewers and potatoes, and providing simple toilets. The road to the top of the mountain is more troublesome because of the snow. When we went there, there was an avalanche at one point, and locals used tools to help clear the way. Every car that drove by would give a little labor fee. I originally thought that the top of the mountain was the only destination, but in fact, after entering the mountain. There are beautiful scenery everywhere, but it is difficult to park, otherwise I think we can play all the way up and down the mountain.

The scenery of Jiajin Mountain is very beautiful, with blue sky, white clouds and snow-capped mountains. Driving on the winding mountain road and seeing such beautiful scenery will make you linger.

By Buddhist Little Master |

There is no snow on the Min Mountains, which soar up to the sky.

By I'm going to fly |

The scenery is very beautiful, Jiajin River, Hongjunping, and there are not many people. However, there are rockfalls on the mountain road, so you must be careful when driving. The climate change in Jiajin Mountain is also very large. It may be sunny in the morning, but it may be cloudy in the afternoon. If you like hiking, you can try to follow the route of the Red Army in the past, cross Jiajin Mountain, and walk the Red Army Road.

Jiajin Mountain, where the Red Army climbed the snow-capped mountains and crossed the grasslands, has a special meaning for people of our age.

By Pan D |

The park is free of charge and has everything from forests to grasslands to the snow-capped mountains. Along the way, there are many Jiarong Tibetan villages. The scenery is really pleasing to the eye.

By Longing for Jasmine |

The scenery of Jiajin Mountain is quite beautiful. I walked here once on my way back from Kangding. I went there in autumn and I really like this winding mountain road. It is very beautiful for taking pictures. There was a lot of fog on the mountain, but with luck, the fog dispersed and it was very beautiful. There were local people selling barbecue and beef jerky on the mountain.

As we approached Ya'an at the foot of the mountain, there was a lake along the way. It was quite beautiful and the water was particularly blue, just like the one in the photo in the system. The color I saw with my eyes was the same as in the picture.

By June Rainforest |

I remember the day before, having been tricked by locals into waiting for over three hours to see the sea of clouds at Balang Mountain, I was in vain. All I saw was a brilliant blue sky, not a single cloud in sight. I drove back to my hotel, looking disconsolate. Unexpectedly, the next day, on my way back to Chengdu via Jiajin Mountain, I was greeted by a breathtaking sea of clouds, stretching as far as the eye could see. It's true that some things are hard to come by; they really depend on luck!

The first snow-capped mountain crossed by the Red Army during the Long March is very suitable for self-driving and cycling. A few years ago, grilled lamb skewers were sold on the top of the mountain. It was very comfortable.

By Xiaoxiao VC |

By Merlin the Wizard |

At first I thought the scenery was very shocking, but later when I went to Siguniang Mountain I felt it was just a small mountain.

By There is no end in sight |

The terrain here is steep and rugged, with mountains rising one after another, precipitous cliffs and sheer cliffs. The air is thin, and the weather is unpredictable. Halfway up the mountain, we encountered fog. By the time we reached the summit, the fog was thick and the chill was oppressive. According to vendors at the summit stalls, this thick fog occurs 300 days a year. As we trekked, visibility was a maximum of 5 meters, and we had to use our fog lights and hazard lights.

By Pinellia is slightly cool |

The scenery along the way in Jiajin Mountain is really beautiful. It will be even more beautiful in October, with red leaves all along the way.

By soy sauce |

I recommend the Jiajinshan Lake near Jiajinshan Village and the Jiajinshan National Forest Park on the other side of the mountain. The mountain is covered with vast forests, forming a natural oxygen bar, suitable for self-driving and cycling.

The roads on both sides of Jiajin Mountain, marked with red, are currently in poor condition, especially from the Yakou to Baoxing section. However, once the roads are renovated, I believe more people will be willing to visit. Jiajin Mountain has better forest cover than Balang Mountain, and the air is more moist and fresh, making it worth a leisurely visit.

By Qiao Ying |

Jiajin Mountain is particularly beautiful and quiet in winter. The snow is very thick, so you need to wear anti-skid chains when driving.

By 37 degrees |

At that time, I was teaching in Ya'an area. I really missed it when I was halfway up the mountain, watching the scenery and experiencing the local people's scenery.

By Tianfu Passerby |

If you have crossed Jiajin Mountain, you will have to admire the strength and integrity of the martyrs.

The road up the mountain is in good condition, but there are many bends.

The autumn scenery is picturesque. There are many meadows along the way, nestled against the mountains and beside the water. Many self-driving tourists stop to have picnics and barbecues. We are so envious.

By Cen Ying |

It was around 6 p.m. when we started to cross Jiajin Mountain. As the altitude increased, the fog became heavier and visibility was almost zero. We were on the top of a high mountain with a deep abyss outside the railing. There was no village in front and no shop behind, and there were only a few passing vehicles. The fear was like being in Silent Hill.

By Jason |

The Red Army crossed Jiajin Mountain, the first snow-capped mountain they climbed during the Long March, through clouds and mist. Flowers bloomed at the foot of the mountain like spring, while the top of the mountain was covered with snow like winter. On one side of the mountain, the autumn scenery was picturesque and the sun was scorching. The four seasons changed in one mountain, and it could be sunny or rainy in one day.

By Wind Stream |

The altitude of Jiajin Mountain is 4114 meters. The cold wind is so fierce that it makes you shiver. After crossing Jiajin Mountain, you will be pleasantly surprised by the bright sunshine and colorful forests all over the mountain.

By Stick Weapons |

The Jiajin Mountain winding road runs from an altitude of over 3,000 meters to the summit, approximately 5,000 meters above sea level. The uphill scenery on both sides reveals a vertical mountain climate: alpine lakes below, towering fir trees above, and a plateau near the summit. Free-range yaks, mules, horses, and sheep can be seen along the way. The scenery is most beautiful at the summit, where the exceptional clarity of the air allows for easy viewing of scenery thousands of meters away. The towering mountains, shrouded in clouds and mist, create a fairyland-like scene under the intense sunlight.

Jiajin Mountain, located between Baoxing and Xiaojin counties, is where the Red Army once crossed the snow-capped mountains, reaching Dawei where the First and Fourth Front Armies of the Red Army met. The scenery here is picturesque, with beautiful snowscapes, and the winding mountain road is also a scenic spot.

By Yang Zi |

The scenery is very nice and the natural environment is well protected.

Jiajin Mountain, at an altitude of over 4,000 meters, is shrouded in mist. There is a pass with a stone on it that says "Jiajin Mountain is lucky." There are large areas of flowers on the mountainside that are beautiful for taking photos.

Nature is the most beautiful thing, and Jiajin Mountain has basically maintained its original appearance. So I hope it will continue to be so.

Suddenly, the altitude rose from the flat ground, and many people experienced altitude sickness, including chest tightness, difficulty breathing, rapid heartbeat, and headache.

When you climb to the top of Jiajin Mountain, the mountain wind blows in, making your clothes flutter and your sleeves fill with flying clouds, as if you are in a fairyland.

By 5DS sleep |

Jiajin Mountain, also known as "Jiajin Mountain," is called "Jiaji" in Tibetan. Jiajin is a transliteration of "Jiajin," meaning very high and steep. Jiajin Mountain was also the first major snow-capped mountain traversed by the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army during the Long March. As the altitude climbed, our companions in the car began to experience symptoms: chest tightness, dizziness, and nausea. Nannan was particularly ill, suffering from both motion sickness and altitude sickness. She vomited profusely throughout the journey, but persevered. Due to the thick fog and cold weather, we didn't dare to stay long at the Jiajin Mountain pass. We disembarked, took a photo, and then got back on the car.

By Selena |

The mountain road is steep, surrounded by clouds and fog, and visibility is less than 20 meters.

The highest point is 4,100 meters above sea level, and both sides of the road are covered with snow, with no grass or trees growing!

By ^*^ Purple Leaf^*^ |

It is a mountain over 4,000 meters high, and the climate is changeable along the way up the mountain.

It was sunny at the foot of the mountain, then it started to rain on the way up. When we reached the middle of the mountain, we encountered hail (not really hail, just some ice pellets~), and when we reached the top, it was snowing!

By sea breeze |

From Siguniang Mountain to Jiajin Mountain, the road condition is slightly worse only at the Jiajin Mountain Pass, which is close to the highest point. The rest of the road conditions are good, but you should be careful of falling rocks. The scenery along the way in Jiajin Mountain is really beautiful. The tour leader said that it will be more beautiful in October, with red leaves all along the way. In addition, you need to register your license plate number to enter Jiajin Mountain.

The Jiajin Mountain Scenic Area is very beautiful, with cattle and sheep dotted across the alpine meadows. It makes you forget all the fatigue from the journey!

By hiddencat |

Passing by Jiajin Mountain, I saw the blue sky and white clouds, the alpine meadows, and the clear and bright sky at 4,000 meters. I only thought of one sentence in my heart: let us bathe in the ultraviolet rays.

By ♂About Us♀ |

The scenery on the top of the mountain is the most beautiful. Look, is that the sea of clouds? Hey, yes, it is the sea of clouds.

By Kelsang Meiduo |

Jiajin Mountain was the first snow-capped mountain the Red Army crossed during the Long March. The path was narrow, winding, and deep, with ravines so deep I almost didn't dare look down. I couldn't imagine how arduous the Long March was. But just as I was about to reach the top, I fell asleep, and when I woke up, I was almost at the bottom of the ravine.

By Zhou Xiaojin |

Along the way, I kept staring at the altitude counter on the car, watching the numbers keep soaring, 2000, 3000, 4000. It was the first day on the plateau, and I felt a little uncomfortable, a little dizzy, and no strength in my whole body. For us who are used to living on the plains, this is normal.

Soon we reached the pass of Jiajin Mountain (4114 meters above sea level). Visibility was estimated to be less than 10 meters. It was a truly bizarre experience: clear skies below, thick fog with scattered snowflakes above. Since it was our first day at high altitude, we were nauseated and dizzy when we got off the car. Our legs weren't very agile, but that didn't last long. Once we turned the corner, we were all as lively as monkeys.

By Dolma Lhamo |

May to September is a good season with good weather and beautiful scenery. The mountains are full of horses and yaks. Animals are easily frightened, so don't get too close to them.

By iloveavril |

I'd heard long ago that the journey to Tibet was long and arduous, requiring traversal of numerous mountains, including that inhumane Jiajin Mountain. You don't know Jiajin Mountain? You know that inhuman snow-capped mountain the Red Army traversed during the Long March, right? Actually, I only had my epiphany when I was trapped there, starving and freezing, facing armed police checking my car! Pretty inhumane, right? But that's another story.

Following the seemingly pre-planned, melodramatic plot, we encountered traffic control while crossing Jiajin Mountain. A multitude of off-road vehicles, mud trucks, snail trucks, and battered minibuses jammed the winding mountain road, forming a long line of vehicles with no clear path to the end. After the May 12 earthquake, this mountain road became the only access point to Wenchuan. Road repairs were everywhere along the way, and the driver explained that the damage wasn't caused by the earthquake, but by the sheer volume of vehicles passing through during the rescue effort! Oh my god, I immediately recited the names of various deities and bodhisattvas ten times in my mind, and once again, I mourned the victims of the earthquake.

By Dark blue |

The road is very good. There are herds of yaks on both sides of the road. The winding mountain road under the blue sky and white clouds is very beautiful.

By Audrey |

If you have the chance, you must go to Jiajin Mountain. It's beautiful. It's very cold and windy up there, so be sure to dress warmly. The vendors there are very humorous, and the lamb skewers are delicious. You must try them. They're 2 yuan a skewer, and the fat is delicious. You can buy 20 skewers and they'll give you 4 or 5 for free.

By SUN |

After passing Ya'an, we crossed Jiajin Mountain. After some admiration for the dangerous mountain road, everyone gradually entered a fairyland.

By Amy Chen |

The weather at the foot of the mountain was fine, but the climb up was truly different: rainbows and snow. By the time we reached the Jiajin Mountain elevation marker, it was already covered in snow. Despite the cold, I still went down to take some photos.

By ☆1 1=2√☆ |

The weather in Jiajin Mountain changes the most in spring. The snow at the foot of the mountain is thick, and by the time you reach the top, it's knee-deep. The mountains here are densely forested, and the clouds and mist form a changing sea of clouds, which is perfect for taking photos.

By UD_pomme |

At about 4 o'clock, we drove to the top of Jiajin Mountain. There were scattered Tibetans buying barbecue skewers on the top of the mountain. The driver stopped the car again to let us get off and rest. The scenery on the top of the mountain was no longer full of trees, but grassland.

By gratifying |

There are few people and the scenery is beautiful. It is so beautiful to see the sea of clouds on Jiajin Mountain. It is very shocking. It is a good place to go.

By Fat Cat |

After about an hour, Jiajin Mountain finally appeared before my eyes. Although I had already imagined snow-capped mountains, the reality of it was even more shocking. Whether I looked down or up, it was just a vast ocean of white, seemingly endless. I couldn't tell east from west, south from north. I never expected to see knee-deep snow for the first time in my life. It was so shocking that I almost screamed in the car. The only regret was that I didn't bring a camera, but what does it matter? I believe that the experience is what matters most, not any evidence!

By Au revoir |

I just happened to pass by here. I was suffering from altitude sickness and couldn't breathe. The whole mountain was covered with grass, and there was even snow in the higher places.

Yaks stroll on the lush green meadows of Jiajin Mountain

The Red Army crossed the Jiajin Mountain! I have great respect for the martyrs. No wonder the Kuomintang could not have guessed that they would take this route. The climate and road conditions were so bad.

By ぎ玎米珞燇が |

As we climbed Jiajin Mountain, the scenery was instantly different, and my excitement was building! But the plateau weather was unpredictable: one moment it was beautiful, then suddenly a dark cloud appeared, and then a hailstorm began to fall! Everyone started running for their lives, clutching their skewers, scarves, and DSLRs. It was a truly spectacular sight!

By The distance under your feet |

After returning, we climbed the 4,100-meter-high Jiajin Mountain where the Red Army had crossed the snow-capped mountains. The steep mountain top was covered with snow, like a tribute to the Red Army at that time!
