There are two options for accommodation on the top of the mountain. One is to sleep in a dormitory, 60 yuan per person, and the other is to camp, 30 per person.

The climbing route is roughly divided into four sections: foot of the mountain - Qingliang Temple - Zushi Hall - Guanyin Temple - Jinding. The intensity, distance and time consumption of the last three sections are basically the same.

At the foot of the mountain is the Red House (starting point for hiking), where you can stay in a farmhouse and there are restaurants with relatively complete facilities.

1. The scenery along the way of Jiufeng Mountain is average, and people usually go there to see the snow scenery, sunrise, and sea of ​​clouds on the top of the mountain. In addition, the intensity is relatively high, so it is more suitable for mountaineering enthusiasts. The intensity is relatively high, so when participating in the activity, you should fully consider your own tolerance.



2. The mountain is closed due to heavy snow from November 10th of the previous year to April 10th of the next year. It is not suitable to go during this period. You can go after mid-June, but it is best to avoid the rainy season from July to September, because there are many leeches in the rainy season and the road is difficult to walk. I think mid-October is the best time to go, and you can also see the white snow on the Taizicheng Mountains.



3. There is no electricity on the mountain, so a flashlight or headlamp is a must. There is basically no mobile phone signal



4. Beginners should not go alone. There have been many accidents at Jiufeng Mountain. Most of the time, the reason is that after climbing to a certain point, they are afraid to go up or down.



5. There is only one road from the Red House to the top of the mountain. It is best not to go alone when there is heavy fog to avoid slipping and falling.



6. Regarding camping on the top of the mountain, there are camping spots on the top of the mountain, and you can also camp inside the temple. If there are few people, you can set up a tent. If there are too many people, it is not necessary. Just lay out a moisture-proof mat + sleeping bag.



7. The top of the mountain is usually visited by tourists. There are people staying there (who are responsible for charging fees). The fees are not paid in vain. The top of the mountain also provides boiled water, rice, and even charging. I have been there several times and found that the facilities in all aspects are being improved step by step.

There are three sections from the Red House parking lot to the top of the mountain. The first section of stairs ends at the Zushi Hall. The second section is a gravel and landslide road. Follow the prayer flags all the way to Guanyin Rock. Don't look down at Guanyin Rock. The third section of gravel stairs goes all the way to the top.

I went there once in November 2017. I was very lucky. The journey was difficult and the scenery was amazing. I am going to go there for the second time recently to see how I am this time.

We set out from Pengzhou at 8:30, started climbing the mountain at around 10:00, arrived at Guanyin Rock at around 5:00 in the afternoon, cooked hot pot for more than two hours, continued the night climb at around 7:00, and reached the summit at around 9:00 in the evening.

Very beautiful! But the climbing intensity is too high. It took seven or eight hours to get from the Red House to the Golden Summit on the first day, and it took six hours to get down the mountain on the second morning! The Golden Summit is very cold at a high altitude, so you need to bring a thick down sleeping bag. I went up in short sleeves, and it was too cold at night.

2018.2.18~2.19 It was the first time to hike in Pengzhou Jiufeng Mountain. We didn't know the dangers on the way. We drove to the Red House first. It was a little rainy. We rented hiking poles and crampons in the supermarket. We didn't prepare these things because it was our first time. We carried a tent, a sleeping bag and a schoolbag. Go up the mountain! At the beginning, we walked up the ladder to the first temple. It was still very tiring. If you just play here, it's enough. In the snow season, you can walk inside and play in the snow. The snow inside is enough for southerners to make snowmen and have snowball fights. The road from the first temple is an undeveloped path. The night before we went, there was hidden ice, which made it very difficult for us. We were nervous when we walked through the gullies of the landslide. Especially at the last big rock, we were blocked by the snow. The snow was thicker than our knees. We had to step on the big rock to get through. But the hidden ice was too slippery. If you didn't grab it, you would slide into the deep gully. We were all panicking and trying to suppress the fear in our hearts. We breathed a sigh of relief after half an hour, and then the second wave of danger came again. We grabbed the wire close to the cliff. Because of the heavy snow and hidden ice the day before, the road became particularly narrow and slippery. The journey from the first temple to the second temple was the longest and most dangerous. We slowed down and walked and climbed steadily. When we reached the second temple, we were already exhausted. We rested for half an hour and continued to the top of the mountain. It took more than an hour to reach the top of the mountain. It took a total of eight and a half hours, sitting by the stove, warming up the fire and drinking hot water. There was a bunk bed on the top of the mountain for 60 yuan per person, including a quilt. It was a wooden bed. We brought a tent, because it was too cold, we set up the tent in the house. One tent seemed to be 60 yuan, and bargaining was impossible. . . We brought sleeping bags or rented three quilts because it was too cold. Anyway, it was the same price as sleeping in a bunk bed. There were four of us. The wind on the top of the mountain was really cold enough to kill people. We each put on more than three hot packs on average. It snowed heavily that night. Some guys even brought their own portable hot pot speakers. The next day, they took out a small gas pipe to cook porridge and fry steak! It was really super fashionable and super hateful. In the morning, we made a bucket of instant noodles. Because it was too cold, the water couldn't boil. I took a bite and felt uncomfortable, so I didn't eat anything. The master said that we should go down the mountain as soon as possible when the sun comes out, otherwise the snow will melt and it will be all ice, which will be very slippery and dangerous. Then we went down the mountain. The scenery was really beautiful. I only saw a little bit of the hazy sunrise, but I was still quite satisfied..........

There is no one to join the group to climb the mountain. I went there once before but didn't reach the top. I want to challenge it again.

It took exactly 6 hours to climb the mountain. When we reached the top, there was only an uncle. Because I had greeted the nun in the ancestral temple and knew that I would stay overnight, the uncle had been waiting for me.

Then it all depends on luck. When I went up the mountain, I had a bad feeling. It was all over. I had to go for nothing. But the uncle had experience and said that the weather in Jiufeng Mountain changes very quickly. Don’t look at the fog now. It may be clear in a few minutes. As expected, he has the temperament of a European emperor. After half an hour, I went out to take a look with doubt. My God, Jesus Christ, the sea of ​​clouds was steadily displayed in front of me. It was a state of affairs. I also took pictures of thunderstorm clouds. What is the "God's perspective"? It means that you stand on the clouds and watch the world below go through wind and rain.

The starry sky at night was also beautiful. I calculated the time so that the moon would set after 12 o'clock, and I could take pictures of the Milky Way. The only regret was that there were clouds, but I could still take pictures of another kind of hazy beauty. For me, who had to break through the fog all the way up the mountain, I was prepared for a wasted trip, and I was very satisfied to see such a scene.

It took 6 hours to go down the mountain, especially the last section from the cable bridge to the red house. I didn't feel anything when I went up the mountain, but I really wanted to curse when I went down the mountain. The whole road was on a slope. I know you came up for the convenience of driving, but have you ever thought about hiking? Can't you dig a staircase trail next to it? You know, going down the slope is the most knee-breaking, not to mention heavy equipment. This last section of the road also made me completely tilt the scale of my evaluation of Jiufeng Mountain towards not recommending it. When someone asked me, I always said I didn't recommend it. The starry sky and sea of ​​clouds are not bad in this place, but considering the hardship of going up and down the mountain, it's not worth it.

All the praises are not enough to express that all the difficulties have been replaced by the lingering feeling at this moment. The first time I climbed to the top was on May 21, 2017. It was foggy and rainy, so I regretfully did not see the sunrise. The second time I climbed to the top was on April 28, 2018. The sunrise jumped out of the clouds at 06:17 on the morning of the 29th. Everything was perfect as I wished.

On the morning of January 30, my girlfriend and I arrived at Luohe Bridge very early. It was snowing lightly, so we put on crampons and headed towards the Red House, taking pictures as we walked. The grandparents in the hall said they couldn't go up anymore and couldn't see the sunrise over the sea of ​​clouds. First time going, round trip on the same day. I felt the steps were boring. The road was too icy and cars couldn't reach the so-called red house, so the starting point was on the road. It took about 6 hours to reach the top. It took about 3 hours to come down. I was just playing along the way and didn't rush.

In general, Jiufeng Mountain is highly playable and of medium difficulty, with the difficulty mainly reflected in the fast ascent. If you are not in a hurry, it is not difficult to play on the way up and down on the same day.

I had a section of stairs that was really unbearable, so there was a mudslide going straight up, and then I went back to the stairs above the Guanyin Temple and continued walking up the stairs. Once I got up, the smog was even worse than in the city. I stood there for a few minutes and suddenly the sun came out and I could see some mountains. A minute later, the smog came back, so I retreated decisively. I will go again in a few days. I will go and see what I haven't seen yet. That's all I can share now.

2017-12-29 I bought crampons, snow gloves, hiking poles and hiking shoes, and set off excitedly early in the morning. When I arrived at the legendary red house, I was told that the mudslide had destroyed the scenic area and I couldn't go forward. As an ordinary idle person, I am not a mountaineering and hiking enthusiast, so I had to give up and go home. They said I had to wait until the Spring Festival to open again. I hiked Jiufeng Mountain alone to bid farewell to 2017. I climbed the mountain for 4 hours and 22 minutes (I really don’t know how I finished the last hour. Let me talk about the Jiufeng Mountain on December 29, 2017. Because the hidden ice section was not very long and was about 10 meters difficult to walk on, I thought it was possible to not bring crampons (bringing two pairs of unwanted cotton socks to cover your feet is much lighter than wearing crampons). Because the weather was sunny during this period and there was no snow, you must bring enough trekking poles and water.

It was past nine in the evening when we arrived at the Golden Summit. There was no hot water or instant noodles. The noodles we had were instant noodles. We spent the first night of the year in hunger and cold. We were preparing to go to Zhaogong Mountain for the Chinese New Year.

On Sunday, October 22, 2017, a group of four people set out from the red house where we parked at 9:20. Along the way, we met hikers who came down from the top of the mountain from time to time, saying that we could see the first snow of the year at the top of the mountain. We arrived at Guanyin Rock a little after 1 pm, but unfortunately the gate was closed. We didn't have a good rest and wanted to go back and forth on the same day, so we had to go back. We arrived at the parking spot at 4:30 and drove home. It was drizzling on the way there, and we were walking in the rain and fog. When we came back, the sky was clear and beautiful. If one of us hadn't dragged his feet, we would have set out from the bottom of the mountain a little after 8 o'clock, and there should be no problem going back and forth on the same day. Next time, find a time to make an appointment with a stronger teammate and make sure to attack the top of the mountain.

On May 5, 2018, I made an appointment with a few passers-by online. Six people in a car set off from the Red House parking lot at 12:00, arrived at the Zushi Temple at 1:00, arrived at Guanyin Rock at 3:00, and arrived at Jinding at 5:20. The people who went with me arrived at 4:20 and 6:40 respectively. I stayed overnight in a dormitory. I was not in good health and had slight chest pain when sleeping. It rained a few times at night, and the indoor temperature was about 3 or 4 degrees. I got up at about 5:00 and watched the moon and stars for a few minutes. Later, heavy fog came, and then there was no sunrise and sea of ​​clouds. So I went back, set off at 7:10, and went down the mountain at 11:20. Walk slowly, pay attention to protect your knees.

Finally, there is too much garbage along the way. Although we cannot clean up the garbage left by others, we should at least require ourselves not to add new garbage.

Hiking in Pengzhou Jiufeng Mountain

Things to prepare: waterproof hiking backpack, tent, sleeping bag, moisture-proof mat, mat, jacket (or down jacket), raincoat, knee pads, hiking shoes, hiking poles, outdoor food, water (enough), spare clothes, and common medicines.

Route: Drive from Chengdu to the Red House and start hiking, which goes through Qingliang Temple, Cable Bridge, Zushi Hall, Guanyin Rock, Leigong Temple and Jinding.

As for going down the mountain, we had breakfast and started to go down the mountain at 9:30. We arrived at the parking lot at 4 o'clock. It took 6 and a half hours. Because the road was slippery due to snow, and then it was raining all the time without snowing, so it took a little longer. This section of the road is the most difficult to walk. The slope is steep, there are piles of rocks, and it is very dangerous without crampons and trekking poles, but the snow scenery is very beautiful. It is not far from the top of Guanyin. Jiufeng Mountain is located in Dabao Township in the northwest of Pengzhou, about 97 kilometers away from Chengdu City, with an altitude of 3,315 meters. It is the highest of all mountains in Pengzhou, a sacred and mysterious area, and a place shared by Taoism and Buddhism.
