Luoji Mountain Scenic Area is a part of Qionghai-Luoji Mountain National Scenic Area. It is a national 4-level tourist attraction integrating unique natural scenery and rich ethnic customs. The scenic area is located in Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, with a total area of ​​2,400 square kilometers. Its main peak is 4,359 meters above sea level, towering into the clouds, shaped like a green snail and like a jade bun, hence its beautiful name.

It takes only one hour from Xichang to Luoji Mountain, which is suitable for self-driving sightseeing. In winter, the snow on the top of the mountain has not melted. On sunny days, the sun shines on the mountains and lakes, just like a snow fairy who has strayed into the world, which is beautiful beyond words.



The ticket to Luoji Mountain is 100 yuan, including the shuttle bus ticket to the mountain. There is a discount if you buy it online one day in advance. The round-trip ticket for the cable car is 130 yuan per person. It takes about 3-4 hours to hike up the mountain without taking the cable car, but there is no scenery along the way. After entering the scenic area, you need to visit for another 2-3 hours, so you basically take the cable car up and down the mountain.

It's worth a visit. The ticket includes the ticket from the mountain gate to the cable car, which is 90 yuan in total. The round-trip ticket for the cable car is 130 yuan. It's cheaper to buy it online. Dahaizi is nice. The sky and the lake are blue. A small part of Dahaizi is covered with ice. It shines golden in the sun, and there are tree roots under the water. The altitude is over 3,600 meters. It's a bit tiring to climb from Dahaizi to Caohai. In winter, Caohai, Qianshou Lake, etc. are covered with ice and snow, and you can hardly see anything. There are few places to eat on the mountain. It is recommended to bring your own food. It takes 4-5 hours to play after going up the mountain.

Luoji Mountain is located more than 30 kilometers south of Xichang City. The main scenic area is about 3600-3800 meters above sea level, and its main peak is more than 4000 meters above sea level. It is named Luoji Mountain because of its shape resembling a spiral bun.

The mountain cableway in Luoji Mountain Scenic Area is known to have the largest vertical drop in Asia, reaching 1,000 meters.



We still hiked up the mountain, although Luoji Mountain is at a high altitude (it is easy to get altitude sickness when the altitude is over 3,000 meters).



We climbed from an altitude of about 2,500 meters to an altitude of more than 3,800 meters. This was our first time climbing a mountain at a high altitude, and we climbed continuously for more than 1,300 meters.



Because of the high altitude, the climb was relatively slow. It took about 3 hours to enter the main scenic area and 3.5 hours to reach Heilongtan. Then we continued to climb for about 2 hours.

Passing through the sea of ​​clouds, we came to a high mountain lake at an altitude of more than 3,600 meters. I wanted to learn how to make sentences like elementary school students: "The towering mountains are like a group of gray-haired old men, silently looking down at the 💎-like lake at their feet."

It's a beautiful place, but I don't like the kids dragging people to buy sachets on the mountain.

Please note that the last cable car is at 5:30 pm, so plan your trip accordingly. Also note that the top of the mountain is high, so bring a thick coat. There are trails and signposts along the way, which makes it very convenient to travel. There are also rest benches made of cement on the road, which are made to look like trees, for tourists to rest.

Luoji Mountain is located 30 kilometers south of Xichang City. The main peak is 4,359 meters above sea level. It is a part of Luoji Mountain-Lushan-Qionghai Scenic Area, a national 4A-level scenic area in Liangshan Prefecture. Its name comes from its "sister" relationship with Mount Emei, "Mount Emei is like the eyebrows of a woman's silkworm moth, and Luoji Mountain is like the green snail-shaped bun on a girl's head." Tourists who take the cable car can climb the mountain after getting off the cable car. After about 20 minutes of walking up the mountain, you will arrive at the main attraction, Black Dragon Pool. After that, you will hike around Black Dragon Pool to see glacier grooves, alpine wetlands, Snow Tea Lake, Xiancao Lake and many other lakes and vast virgin forests. The scenery is very beautiful. For example, you can see azaleas on both sides of the road in May and June, and the mountains are full of red leaves in autumn.

The scenic area bus runs every 20 minutes, and it goes up along the winding mountain road and arrives at the entrance of the cableway after more than ten minutes. There is the longest cableway in Asia here, and the journey takes about 20 to 30 minutes. It was very foggy today, and the cableway was completely wrapped in fog after a while, and the air was particularly clear. The cableway is indeed the longest in the world, and it is really long. It feels like I have been sitting for a long time.

As soon as I got off the car, I felt the coolness and the wind was very strong. The temperature was probably around 10 degrees Celsius. I needed to bring warm clothes when going up the mountain or rent a down jacket here.

Luoji Mountain is a good place to travel all year round, with many sunny days, especially in summer. In April and May every year, azaleas are in full bloom, and you can see a sea of ​​azaleas when you come here.

Luoji Mountain is so beautiful as captured by other people's photos. I was so tired that day when I walked through the woods to find two small lakes outside the park road. It was actually not that bad to climb from the entrance of the hiking trail. It took three hours and there were beautiful scenery in the middle. The alpine lakes are really nice. The town at the foot of the mountain also has the flavor of a living street market.

Walking along a very long mountain road, there are vendors selling white radishes along the way. They are crispy and sweet, they are mountain radishes!

We chose to go to Luoji Mountain with a tour group! We booked it online because there is no direct bus from Xichang to Luoji Mountain, and we need to transfer. It feels a bit rushed to go there by ourselves in one day and wait for the bus to transfer back and forth, so we booked a free tour group, which is good. There is free pick-up and drop-off in the city! Because it is off-season, not many people go to Luoji Mountain. This time we also enjoyed VIP treatment, 7 people sat in Buick business cars.

Luoji Mountain is really high in altitude. After buying the ticket, you have to take a shuttle bus up the mountain and then take the cable car! I have never taken a cable car for so long. It is really too high and the distance is so long! According to our driver and tour guide, we are now taking a new cable car, which has reduced the time by half. There is an old one next to it, which is crowded during holidays! The waiting time is too long! So how long is the cable car? I heard that it takes half an hour before, but now it only takes about ten minutes.

The temperature on the mountain was really low, and I obviously didn't wear enough when I went there! However, there were down jackets for rent on the mountain, but we thought it would be hot to climb the mountain, so we didn't rent any!

There are actually quite a lot of lakes on Luoji Mountain, but most of them don't have much water, and many of them are dry! I think we came in the wrong season. I guess the scenery will be especially beautiful in winter when it snows! The snow on the mountain has not completely melted, but it has turned into ice.

The weather on the mountain is really changeable. There are a lot of clouds. We walked very fast. The sun came out and was soon covered by clouds. Then the wind blew, so we had to speed up our pace.

I happened to be on a business trip in Dechang. I had a free day, so I went to Luoji Mountain to have a look and correct some scenic spot information. On October 1, 2017, Luoji Mountain Scenic Area was officially opened after maintenance. There is a shuttle bus from Xichang, which leaves when it is full instead of two buses a day. It costs 22 yuan to Luoji Mountain Town. Then take a bus to the scenic spot ticket office, which takes about 10 minutes. The ticket is 70 yuan, and the cable car is 130 yuan [adults]. There is a shuttle bus from the ticket office to the cable car. The No. 1 cable car is 45 minutes and has been discontinued. Now the No. 2 cable car is running and it takes about 10 minutes to go up the mountain. The scenery is beautiful, but I set off too late. It was already 2:30 when I arrived at the cable car, so I mainly visited Dahaizi. I asked the tourists on the road and it took about 3 hours to walk through the scenic area. The cable car closed at about 4:30~ You can share a business car in Luoji Mountain Town when you return to Xichang. I paid 20 yuan today and it took about 50 minutes to get to Xichang~ It is worth going, the wonders of nature, because it is not a holiday and there are not many people.

This was really a spontaneous trip. It was a last minute decision, so I didn't have much expectation for the attractions, but it turned out to be worth the trip. The sky was clear and blue, and the water was even clearer. Although there was still a thin layer of snow in the shallow grass under the tall trees on the roadside, it couldn't block the warmth of spring that I could feel under the direct sunlight. The grass in early winter sprinkled a golden color on the 3,670-meter Heilongtan Lake. The Quaternary glacial gravel was huge, and glacial grooves were everywhere. There were even many unknown flowers blooming on the sunny slope of a huge glacier, one tree after another, making you marvel at the magic of the Creator.

The roads in the scenic area are not good, the road signs are unscientific, there is only one direction, and there is no distance to the next destination. It is located in a high altitude area, which is inconvenient for tourists.

The mountain is rich in vegetation, with many alpine rhododendrons. When I went there in mid-July, some rhododendrons were still in bloom.

There is a lake halfway up Luoji Mountain, which is its characteristic. Because of the altitude, the mountain is full of luck. The sun is bright and clear, the sky is blue, and the scenery is beautiful. The road up the mountain is a stone staircase, which makes people tired and bored easily. I prefer the stone road that climbs Taibai Mountain.

It is a secluded place with many wild monkeys and nice hot springs, but it is not fully developed...

The road conditions are very good when driving from Xichang, and the scenery is beautiful. You can enjoy the snow in winter and the flowers in spring. However, the altitude is over 3,500 meters, so you need to take good cold protection measures in any season.

The beauty of Luoji Mountain was not brought to life in my travel notes, and many of its beauties were not well written. We really love Luoji Mountain, and we felt that we would regret it if we didn't come. Fortunately, we came. Those lakes are really beautiful, Heilongtan, Qianshouhu, and Xiancaohu. Even during the National Day holiday, there were not many people in the scenic area. Whether buying tickets or taking the cable car, there was no queue for more than an hour. The shuttle bus to and from the gate of the scenic area was very frequent, and the driver's skills were very good. The mountain road was really 18 bends, and the driver drove steadily, which was amazing. The scenery on the mountain was good, but because of the high altitude, it was very tiring to walk, especially when encountering uphill, the steps were heavy and the breathing was rapid. The water in Heilongtan was very clear, but it was still black when viewed from the side, which was magical.

Luoji Mountain is really the closest scenic spot to the "primeval forest" that I have visited so far (apparently I haven't been to enough natural scenic spots..) It takes about an hour by car from Xichang Bus Station. At that time, the mountain road was still under construction, and it was bumpy all the way. Some self-driving cars couldn't get up at all. It was bumpy all the way to the scenic area and then take the cable car up, which was closer to the scenic area and more suitable for playing. The air on the mountain is really great, and the forest and water quality are also very good. Probably because there are fewer tourists, it has not been overdeveloped, and the scenery is really great~~~

Just one word! Beautiful! It's worth going! There are two cableways up the mountain, a large cableway and a small cableway. Which one is open depends on the weather conditions. It is said that the cableway here is the longest in Asia. After getting off the cableway, you can walk to Heilongtan in 20 minutes. Next to Heilongtan is a rest stop with a two-story house where you can eat, get hot water, and buy things. From Heilongtan, there are two tour routes, the large loop and the small loop, mainly to see the glacial relics and many small lakes. The scenery is very good, the air is very good, there is fog on the mountain when it rains, and the mist gathers and disperses from time to time, feeling like a fairyland. The altitude is high, and you need to pay attention to two problems. One is to bring more thick coats. It will be very cold on the mountain when it rains. The other is not to walk too fast, and there will be a slight altitude reaction. In addition, there is a Jiujiuli Hot Spring Waterfall in Luoji Mountain Scenic Area, a hot spring waterfall! It sounds very cool! It's a pity that I didn't have time to go this time.

Very nice scenery. There are very few people on the way up. It will be very hot in the early stage and cold in the later stage. You need to wear quick-drying clothes. I was very excited when I arrived at Heilongtan. Aru Cliff is in front. The route of the scenic spot is quite reasonable. After Xiancao Lake, I went to Qianshou Lake. I can play at almost every scenic spot along the way. I especially remind you to bring a jacket and long pants. The mountain is about 4,000 meters above sea level. You can take the cable car down the mountain.

The scenery is really good. It is just too far from the city of Xichang, and the road is so bad that it can't be any worse. It takes more than 3 hours one way. Only buses run the fastest on this road. I saw many small cars with scraped chassis along the way, and even some SUVs were not spared. When I went there, I saw a Toyota SUV smoking on the side of the road. The tour guide called this road the free massage road. The new road has not been repaired yet. Friends who want to go there should still take a one-day tour. The price is about 280, including tickets and cableway tickets. The price will increase during holidays. The group usually arrives at the scenic spot around 11 o'clock. Lunch is solved by yourself. It is free time until 4 o'clock in the afternoon. Generally speaking, there is still plenty of time. Because it is at a high altitude, try to walk slower and don't worry about not having enough time. There is also a big temperature difference. No matter which season, remember to bring a coat (there are also coats for rent on the mountain). I went there in winter. It was more than 20 degrees at the foot of the mountain and below zero on the mountain. The Canon SLR was directly frozen and failed when taking pictures. At that time, I was in a very bad mood. . . I even suspected that what I bought was a knockoff. I took a few photos after restarting the car many times. The snow was too thick and we were not allowed to go up to the highest point of the scenic area. It was a pity. (Remember, you will regret driving before the road is repaired.)

After going to Xichang, you will reach Luoji Mountain after Lushan Qionghai. It is not as fun as expected, but it is not disappointing.

The scenery is great, but the road is under construction and is very bad. If you have a car with a low ground, don't go there easily.

Tickets have been changed to 90 yuan full price and 60 yuan discount tickets. You need to take a bus from the Torch Tourist Bus Station. Buses leave all day long, but the road was repaired from 2015 to 2016. The whole journey is extremely bumpy and takes 2-3 hours. You have to eat dirt the whole way. It's really painful. When you go there, you think about how to get back... Because it takes a lot of time on the road. The return bus will be empty at Luoji Mountain at 6 pm. It takes at least four hours to go up the mountain. If you go back and forth on the same day, you need to plan your time well.



Luoji Mountain has beautiful scenery, but it is far inferior to Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong. The landscape is similar, with stone troughs and drifting gravel eroded by glaciers, which are worth seeing.

The winding mountain road often turns 180 degrees, and you have to climb up after turning. It's really good... It's worth going. Unexpectedly, I met a friend on the road who said that the rent could be bargained, and it was 10 yuan cheaper than at the foot of the mountain. I saw the ticket bought at the window on the right in front of the Luojishan Scenic Area. It would be cheaper if you book it online in advance. The ticket and the cable car are purchased separately. Take the tourist bus of the scenic area to go up the mountain and then take the cable car. It only takes about ten minutes to take the cable car. After taking the cable car, we started our mountain climbing trip. (The tourist center at the cable car sells all kinds of scarves, cloaks and oxygen cylinders.) The highest altitude we climbed to was 3,980 meters. I ate Rhodiola rosea before because I was afraid of altitude sickness. I don’t know if I had a vaccination in advance, so I didn’t have altitude sickness. But the higher the altitude, the stronger the heartbeat. But the scenic area is also more humane. There is a pavilion for tourists to rest at every distance. So when you feel a little uncomfortable, you have to take a proper rest and eat something caloric to replenish energy. The scenic area doesn’t sell food. There are signs all the way in the scenic area. We went up the mountain at 9 o'clock in the morning and went down the mountain at 3 o'clock in the afternoon. Luoji Mountain in the morning is surrounded by clouds and mist, as if in a fairyland. The higher you go, the clearer it becomes. The most impressive thing is Heilongtan!

Since it is in the town, don't expect too much in terms of conditions. It's good to be clean as a whole, and the supporting facilities of the scenic area are also very good.

Compared with other high mountain attractions, Luoji Mountain is very unique. The mountain is very high, but it looks delicate; there are many lakes, each one is small; the water is very clear, but it looks black; the grass in the water is very dense and golden.
