The sightseeing bus takes 2 hours
You will experience sunny, cloudy, snowy and other weather conditions along the way.
Don't worry
After passing through the clouds, it is basically sunny.
We will stop once to go to the restroom.
Selling things is expensive
2 hours later, the sightseeing bus arrived at the destination - Leidongping
Then there is the 1.5 km uphill staircase
If there is ice on the steps
It's just a thriller
We didn't buy any anti-slip crutches or anything like that.
You can also walk slowly
There are souvenir shops on both sides of the road.
At the end of the stairs is the entrance to the Golden Summit Cable Car.
The cable car takes only 3 minutes to reach the Golden Summit.
We found a hotel at Jinding and checked in to put down our backpacks.
Continue climbing the stairs for 5 minutes to reach the Golden Summit.
Saw the sunset that night
Very spectacular
There's no one at night.
I just feel like my giant fear is about to kick in.
The starry sky at an altitude of 3,000 meters is really beautiful and cold
🌚
D2
I checked the time and it was sunrise at 7:50 the next morning.
I woke up and saw it was snowing
🌚
This means that there is no sunrise.
And going down the mountain might be even harder.
The mountaintop with heavy snow and fog looks a bit weird
It was too cold after a while so I hurried back to the hotel
Then I lay in bed and thought about how to get down the mountain.
By noon the fog had dissipated.
Get ready to go down the mountain
The road is pretty good
The snow in the south is not very slippery
Arrived at Leidongping and found a restaurant to replenish energy
Then we took a car to end our trip to Mount Emei
PS
If you ask me what it's like to live in heaven
I would say living in Jinding is the right decision
Unforgettable
The weather on the top of the mountain was great, which was very rare. In the distance, you could clearly see the snow-capped mountain, which is said to be the King of Sichuan Mountains - Gongga.
The sky is blue and pure like a lake. There is not a single cloud in the sky, but below is an endless sea of clouds, as if in the sky. The breathtaking scenery of this famous Buddhist mountain makes all visitors either rejoice or calm down.
We are going to Jinding to watch the sunset. We also brought some dry food, thinking about watching the stars on the top of the mountain tonight. Ever since I saw the stars on the East Peak of Huashan, I have a special liking for the beauty of the starry sky on the mountain. This time, the altitude is higher than Huashan, so we should not miss the starry sky. There is also some snow on the stairs to Jinding, which is very slippery. At that time, my second child and I thought that the snow on the top of the mountain should have melted. When my second child almost fell while climbing the stairs, he didn't forget to take me with him. Fortunately, I immediately grabbed the handrail next to me, otherwise we would have fallen beautifully! Many people left after watching the sunset, but I still wanted to see the sunset. Watching the sunset gradually disappear, the surprise mood returned to the sudden relief after calming down.
The next day at about six o'clock, after having breakfast with my second son, we went up to the top of the mountain wearing six layers of clothes. Those waiting for the sunrise all wore coats. Although I wore six layers, I was still freezing. The wind was so strong that it almost blew me up. The moon had not disappeared yet and was still in the clouds. Looking at the sky, it was very likely that we would not see the sunrise. I put on my hat, gloves, and mask and waited for the sunrise fully armed. It was the first time in my life that I had endured such cold. It was minus two degrees Celsius. Thinking that I had lived for 22 years and had never experienced sub-zero weather, I felt like I had broken through my limits.
After waiting for nearly 20 minutes, the sun still didn't move. I thought there was a high possibility that I wouldn't see the sunrise. However, I still saw the sun come out a little bit, like a small lantern, and many people began to shout excitedly, as if they had never seen the sunrise. Amid their shouting, the sun was scared away again and disappeared. A big brother next to me was immersed in his own words: "Sun, be brave and come out! You can do it, believe in yourself. Come out soon..." I smiled, very good, I hope the sun can hear his voice. The cold wind on the top of the Golden Summit is really biting, I was freezing. Obviously, wearing six layers of clothes and fleece pants is useless, the wind is too penetrating.
Later, the sun lived up to everyone's expectations and slowly appeared in everyone's sight, and the tourists were jubilant again. I am grateful that the sun finally climbed out when I was frozen into an ice sculpture, allowing me to see its true appearance and feel the warmth of the early sun. I was lucky enough to encounter sunrise, sunset, snow and sea of clouds during my trip to Emei.
At the top of the mountain, I waited for the first rays of sunshine to shine into my life again, and saw many people posing for photos.
The Golden Summit reveals its true colors in the sunlight, and with the sunrise, it is golden and brilliant. Sunrise over the sea of clouds at the Golden Summit of Mount Emei! The sky is gentle, and I will give you a rising sun. Make a wish that this will be a beautiful day.
From the observation deck on the west side of the Golden Summit, you can overlook the Golden Mountain in the distance.
The beauty of nature is so stunning!
The shady side of the Golden Summit is cool but very beautiful.
Except for the Buddha's light, we have seen all the other wonders. What passes through my eyes is mine.
Mount Emei Golden Summit, also known as Huazang Temple, is located on the main peak of Mount Emei in Sichuan Province, China (29.52567°N, 103.336802°E), with an altitude of 3,077 meters. It is the end point of the Emei Mountain Tour and one of the key Buddhist temples in the Han area. There is a Woyun Temple next to the temple, which has a dining hall and guest rooms for tourists to eat and stay. At the Golden Summit, you can see the four wonders of Emei - sunrise, sea of clouds, Buddha light, and holy lamp. The Golden Summit is adjacent to the Thousand Buddha Summit and the Ten Thousand Buddha Summit. There are also buildings on the Ten Thousand Buddha Summit, and there is a sightseeing cableway connecting the Golden Summit and the Jieying Hall. This is the place where the most temples and scenic spots in Mount Emei are concentrated, with many famous places, and it is the essence of Emei.
I came to Sichuan [Mount Emei] many years ago, and I remember it rained every day in Chengdu.
Now that we are in Chengdu, we have to go even if it rains. If we don’t go now, we will run out of time and have to return to Shanghai.
The car drove up for a while and came to a very high, straight sightseeing elevator, where we lined up to wait.
After taking the elevator, I felt that the elevator was soaring straight up in the clouds (now this sightseeing elevator seems to have been dismantled and replaced by a cable car.)
There was rain under the clouds, and nothing could be seen in the fog. When it was about to reach the top of the fog,
Suddenly there was light, blue sky and white clouds.
So beautiful!
The statue of Samantabhadra located in the center of the Golden Summit is the symbol of Mount Emei and the highest golden Buddha in the world.
The front of the statue of Samantabhadra Bodhisattva holds a wish-fulfilling jewel in his hand and rides on a six-tusked holy elephant. The other side is in the mudra of Atta Dhāraṇī, representing the four wisdoms of the six realms of sentient beings. The statue is made of copper and emits a stunning light against the blue sky.
The 48-meter-high statue of Samantabhadra Bodhisattva represents the 48 great vows of Amitabha Buddha. "Samantabhadra" means "universal" which means equality without hindrance, and "virtuous" means omnipresent.
The Ten Directions Samantabhadra Bodhisattva is a symbol of the practice and vows of Mahayana Buddhism. The "Ten Directions" refers to Samantabhadra's ten great practices and vows, and also symbolizes the ten directions of east, south, west, north, southeast, southwest, northeast, northwest, up, and down in Buddhism. It means that Samantabhadra's boundless practices and vows can fulfill the wishes of all Buddhas and sentient beings in the ten directions and three times.
The ten heads of Samantabhadra Bodhisattva are divided into three layers, each with a different expression, representing the ten mental states of the world. The first layer on the elephant's back is the four heads and two sides of Samantabhadra Bodhisattva; the second layer is the four heads of Samantabhadra Bodhisattva; the upper layer is the front and back heads of Samantabhadra Bodhisattva
Jinding is a temple on Mount Emei, located on the main peak, Da'e Mountain. It is called Jinding because it is a copper temple gilded with gold. The peak is 3,079 meters above sea level, and it is the highest point of Mount Emei. People are accustomed to calling the peak Jinding.
You can see the four wonders of Mount Emei from the Golden Summit - sunrise, sea of clouds and Buddha's light. Unfortunately, there was heavy fog and it didn't show any signs of clearing until 12 o'clock. We had to go down the mountain with regret without seeing any of the wonders.
We walked down the mountain from Jinding to Leidongping. Some of the stairs were very steep. Some guides said that it would take about 2 hours to walk from Leidongping to Jinding. That should be for athletes or mountaineering enthusiasts. We walked down the mountain for nearly 2 hours. I estimate that it would take 3 to 4 hours to go up the mountain. We met Emei monkeys on the way from Jieyin Temple to Leidongping. The monkeys were not "at work" when we went up the mountain.
At the Emei Golden Summit, I felt for the first time the feeling of being surrounded by clouds and mist, and I felt like I was going to become an immortal. No wonder some people would jump down without hesitation. Unfortunately, my diary at that time was stolen. Please go to my travel notes to see the beautiful scenery.
The sea of clouds this morning voted. It was a little cloudy that day, so I didn't see the sunrise, but the clouds were
No shopping, just fun, the tour guide was attentive and patient in explaining, the attractions were well arranged, the group meals were good, and he enthusiastically recommended local culture and food. It was worth the trip!
The scenery is really good... and there is a sea of clouds... it's very impressive
The Golden Summit of Mount Emei is illuminated by golden light. When the weather is fine, you can see the snow-capped mountains and sea of clouds on the opposite side, which is very spectacular.
I have been to Jinding many times, and I feel it is good every time. Although the place is not big, the scenery along the way is really beautiful. It feels even more beautiful in winter, with clouds and mist.
The Golden Summit is located at the second highest peak of Mount Emei, adjacent to the Ten Thousand Buddhas Summit at the top of Mount Emei. It is the place where the most temples and scenic spots are concentrated in Mount Emei and is the essence of Mount Emei.
As one of Sichuan's top attractions, Mount Emei is well-known for its sea of clouds, Buddha's light, Buddhism, and monkeys. I went there twice but never saw the Buddha's light. The sea of clouds is pretty good, so I recommend it.
It is magnificent and you would be lucky if you are lucky enough to catch the sun shining on the golden roof.
You can vaguely see the snow-capped mountains, but the wind is a bit strong and it hurts my head. It's worth climbing to the top
The altitude of the Golden Summit (3079 meters) is bearable, and the beautiful scenery is in full view. It feels like the sea of clouds is right beside you and in your hands! The moment I saw the legendary Golden Summit, I felt shocked! I felt that I was just a small part of the vast living beings. Such a spectacular scenery cannot be missed.
Sitting on the bench behind the Golden Roof, listening to the Buddhist music in the temple and playing "Spring Song": Spring has flowers, summer has the moon, autumn has cool breeze, winter has snow...the realm of life is just like this!
The scenic area of Mount Emei is very mature and worth visiting. I highly recommend it. Although it takes one day to go back and forth, I saw the sea of clouds and the sky was clear after the snow melted. Everything is worth it.
The Golden Summit of Mount Emei is a must-visit, it is a great place to watch the sunrise.
The Golden Summit of Emei Mountain is well-known, and the sunrise over the sea of clouds is also very magnificent. Of course, there are also the mountain forests shrouded in mist every day. Every morning after sunrise, when the sun rises, the mountains are shrouded in mist, and the forests appear and disappear in the mist, just like a fairyland.
It’s a pity that I didn’t see the Buddha’s light because when I went there it was the first snow of the year, but it was still spectacular.
I stayed at the top of Mount Emei for one night just to watch the sunrise at the Golden Summit. God blessed me and made the trip worthwhile. Watching the sunrise at the Golden Summit was an unforgettable experience for me!
We took the cable car to the Golden Summit. As expected, the sun was hiding behind thick clouds. However, the Golden Summit is about 3,000 meters above sea level, and the clouds flowing and surging under our feet like sea water are also a sight we have never seen before.
Due to the heavy fog and rain, there were basically no other tourists. Although there was no sunrise, it was quiet and peaceful. The most eye-catching thing on the huge Golden Summit Observation Deck is the golden statue of Samantabhadra Bodhisattva.
The sunrise at the Golden Summit is accompanied by the morning bells in the temple. As dawn breaks, a silver light shines across the eastern horizon on the blue sky, dividing the sky and slowly expanding up and down. The sunrise is very short, and the first batch of tourists who arrived early have already set up their tripods to grab a perfect position and wait for those short three to five minutes. All the suffering is for those few minutes of dazzling light.
After the cableway, we still need to walk a distance to reach the Golden Summit. At this time, my boyfriend's friend told him that starting from the lock bridge, the man should take the left leg and the woman the right leg, and we cannot turn back at the 81st step. We didn't know where it was, but we held hands and walked on the steps as we touched them, and we really didn't turn back. After finally climbing up to the Golden Summit, I took a few breaths. My boyfriend's friend told us the key points of taking pictures. The Golden Summit should be photographed horizontally, with all four corners in full, and Samantabhadra should be photographed vertically, and all of them should be taken. I was ready to go down the mountain, but I quickly looked through the photos on my phone and found that they were not up to standard and went back to take more photos. But it was really worth going up again, because a gust of wind blew away the thick fog and revealed the scenery below the mountain.
The sunrise over the sea of clouds is particularly beautiful, one of the best I have ever seen in the country.
After taking the cable car to the Golden Summit, it was really beautiful! Here are the pictures~ It was very cold up there. I was wearing short-sleeved shirts and shorts~ It was terribly cold, so weak women can bring a coat and try to wear long pants
It mainly depends on the weather. If it is sunny, the sea of clouds is very beautiful.
The sea of clouds is right in front of you, and the top of the snow-capped mountain is looming in the distance. The branches in front of you are covered with white snow, and the sun's rays shine white and gold, forming a beautiful picture with the near and far views. Lying on the fence and looking into the distance for a long time, this place is very close to the paradise described by people, the clouds are like fairy air, pure white and beautiful.
After leaving the hotel, the bus took us to the Zero Kilometer Station, where we took the scenic area's sightseeing bus, which took about two hours to get to the Leidongping parking lot, then walked 1.5 kilometers (don't even think about taking a car during this section, there are really no cars available) to the Jieying Hall, and then took the large cable car to the Golden Summit (which can accommodate 100 people). After getting off the cable car, you can see the various buildings on the Golden Summit. This route is really not tiring at all.
The altitude of Jinding is 3079 meters. Although it is not as high as the altitudes of Qinghai and Tibet, which are 4,000 or 5,000 meters, it is still recommended that children who walk here slow down their movements, in case of altitude sickness, which is really no joke.
Looking down at the Ten-Faced Buddha from the Golden Summit, I had the illusion that I was in heaven.
I climbed the Golden Summit for the first time in November 2009. There was thick fog at the foot of the mountain, but the sky was clear and the sea of clouds was endless. For the first time, I felt that the sea of clouds was more beautiful than what I saw from the plane.
I had the worst travel experience in my life today. The ticket for Mount Emei Scenic Area says it is valid for two days (see Figure 1). It rained yesterday and we didn't go up the mountain. Today, it's not raining and we went again, but the ticket inspector told us that it can't be used. So I went to the ticket office to ask. The ticket seller (the window in Figure 3 around 11:30) looked at my ticket and ticket for yesterday, confirmed with me that I bought the full price ticket and the ticket has been used, and told me that I can just buy another ticket. So I bought another ticket for today, and when I went to the ticket gate again, the ticket inspector stopped me and asked me if I had been to the scenic spot. I said that I took a bus to the mountain yesterday and came down before I climbed up because of heavy rain. What scenic spot or not, isn't this ticket valid for two days? The ticket inspector continued to ask me if I went up to take pictures. I said I didn't take pictures because it rained. The ticket inspector said, you come to play and don't take a picture? Only then did I come to my senses. What does it have to do with whether I take pictures or not and whether this ticket can be used. The ticket inspector then asked my son if it rained yesterday. We were interrogated repeatedly like prisoners. And wrote my name and ID number on my ticket. I later realized that he thought I picked up someone else's ticket to pass through. I really couldn't stand it anymore. This was the first time in my life that I was inexplicably treated as a thief. I got angry with them. Many staff members nearby came to persuade me, and the ticket inspector let me pass. He also said that he was doing good to let us in, and claimed that he would tear up my ticket and not let me in to see what I would do. I was very puzzled at the time why a gatekeeper ticket inspector was so arrogant. So I complained to the 12301 tourism hotline. In less than an hour, a leader called me back, but the reply was that there was no problem with the ticket inspector's work procedures. The ticket inspector had the right to ask the questions that tourists asked me to decide whether tourists could pass through and continue to play. (This is simply the most powerful ticket inspector in the world, isn't it). He just didn't like me and couldn't let me in? Finally, I asked how to explain that the ticket was valid for two days, but it was invalid for me on the second day. The leader used a very useful sentence: The final right of interpretation lies with the scenic spot! I really wanted to curse at him at the time, and immediately understood why the ticket inspector could be so arrogant.
I don't recommend you to visit Mount Emei. You have to take a bus from Mount Emei for 2 hours to a place called Zero Kilometer (I was in a hurry to take my children and the elderly, so I called a Didi Express to Zero Kilometer for 160, and the same price for going down the mountain), change to a sightseeing bus (ticket price 50 round trip) and take another hour, and then climb the stairs for 30 minutes to get to the cable car. On the way up the mountain, you can see several dirty, disabled and vicious monkeys surrounded and fed by a large group of tourists. At the same time, they were driven away by staff with slingshots. It would be strange if wild animals were not vicious if they were treated like this. There were so many people that they couldn't walk when they were close to the cable car. I asked the tourists who were going down the mountain what the scenery was like, and they said they couldn't see anything. I decisively took my children down the mountain and didn't join in the fun. I was really worried about a crushing incident.
I especially want to ask the staff here, with such a travel experience, would I spend 370 yuan and take nearly 4 hours of transportation just to pick up a 185 yuan ticket thrown away by someone else to come to this crappy place?
I just came back from watching the sunrise, and I want to share my experience with you! We stayed in Leidongping, and the price in early August was 500. I asked many hotels, and the price of a room with a window was considered cheap. Of course, there are cheaper ones, but they don’t have windows, which is very humid and stuffy. In fact, there are temples and accommodations near the cableway, so you can go and ask. My suggestion is: get to the scenic spot early in the afternoon of the first day, take the scenic bus to Leidongping, then walk for more than ten minutes to the cableway, and go to Jinding to see the sunset and the sea of clouds. If you want to stay in Jinding, of course there is nothing to say. If you don’t want to spend so much money, go down and stay in Leidongping, you can walk or take the cableway. But remember to buy the cableway ticket for the next day in advance! Otherwise, you will collapse when you see the crowds of people queuing up the next morning and you haven’t bought the ticket yet! . Remember! After buying the ticket, you can go back to Leidongping to find accommodation. Eat early and go to bed. The boss will wake you up at four o'clock the next morning, so you should eat something and run to the cableway immediately, the faster the better! Then take the ticket you bought in advance and queue up. (Don't count on buying tickets on the day, the ticket office opens late, and by the time you buy the ticket, the line at the cable car entrance is already crowded. If you don't buy it in advance, buy a scalper ticket. I bought a scalper ticket, which cost ten yuan more per ticket...) You have been standing and waiting hard until 5.40. The cable car entrance is open, and if you catch the first few cable cars, you will definitely have no problem watching the sunrise. If you are too late, the sun may rise before you get on the cable car. You can see the sunrise after getting off the cable car! Of course, the weather is very important, and it still takes a bit of luck to see it. The moment the sun rises, it feels worth it! After watching the sunrise, you can slowly walk down the mountain to Leidongping, and then walk or take a car to other routes to play!
Actually, I think the sunset at Jinding is more beautiful than the sunrise. Maybe it’s because I think the sunrise is too dazzling. If you want to watch the sunrise, you must go early. We lived in Jinding and got up at 6:30 and went up at around 7 o’clock. There were already a lot of people there, so you still have to come early to get a good spot.
We encountered a sunny day! It was sunny after the rain, and the scenery was really beautiful. I don’t know much about Buddhism, but I know that it is a Buddhist holy place in the country 2333
A place of pilgrimage, the place of Samantabhadra Bodhisattva, looking for an opportunity to go there
Although there was rain and fog on Mount Emei, I still felt that it lived up to its reputation as one of the four famous Buddhist mountains.
It's too far. It takes 4 hours to take the scenic bus back and forth. What scenery you can see when you arrive at Jinding depends entirely on luck.
My long-cherished wish came true this year. Everything else is good, except that the waiting time for the cable car is long!
I went there in the off-season. The trees on the top of the mountain started to melt. It was like raining all the way. I wore a jacket but it was still very cold. I took a car to climb to the Golden Summit. Although it was not far, it took three or four hours to climb. The road was not easy to walk on. It was full of ice and snow. It was very slippery. When I saw the Golden Summit, the sun was shining and I saw the sea of clouds. The first time I saw the sea of clouds in my life was in Mount Emei. I still remember it clearly.
Sunshine at 3,000 meters above sea level
Above the clouds, pure blue!
The scenery is so beautiful, it's worth it~ I chose to walk down from Jinding, which is not far. There was basically no one on the way down from Jinding. The feeling of walking slowly in the green fields, the air is so fresh. Occasionally I saw hikers climbing up Jinding, and the scenery down the mountain is also beautiful, but there is a steep section of the road
I don't know if it's a psychological effect, but I always feel that this mountain has spiritual energy. The monkeys in the mountain are afraid of people.
It was raining on the day we went there, and the place was surrounded by clouds and mist. The Golden Summit was magnificent.
I am a snake, and Samantabhadra Bodhisattva is the patron saint of snakes.
For those who have faith in their hearts or those who are confused, it is worth a visit.
As I was walking, I suddenly saw the golden Buddha and the colorful clouds behind him. They were so beautiful. The sun had just risen when I arrived at the Golden Summit. Everyone's face was golden, and the Bodhisattva was also golden. Accompanied by the bells in the temple, it was so beautiful. I came to Mount Emei and found that the Golden Summit of Mount Emei is the real Golden Summit. Not only is the temple golden, but Samantabhadra Bodhisattva is also golden, and even the people who come up are dyed golden. The Buddha's light shines everywhere. Bathing in the Buddha's light, I feel light and happy, so happy.
The statue of Samantabhadra is the essence of the entire Emei Mountain. It is said that this is the tallest golden Buddha in the world. It is said that the statue of Samantabhadra is more beautiful at night.
The faint warm yellow Buddha light in the starry night is quiet and peaceful.
There were many people burning incense and praying to Buddha, most of them took the cable car to go up. The top of the mountain was covered with clouds and mist, and nothing could be seen.
The golden building can only be seen from very close, and you can only see a rough outline of it.
It is really beautiful. Many people are praying and bowing every three steps.
We didn’t go to Jinding. Instead, the tour guide took us to a new Yi village that was said to be government-run. We had tea and watched performances. I bought three silver thermos cups and a necklace for my sister!
The name of the Golden Summit is well-deserved, the scenery is extraordinary, it’s the best!
It was very beautiful. We were stunned when we saw the scenery. Mount Emei is really big. It takes more than an hour to drive there. The route is to drive to a place, climb a section, take a cable car, climb a section to the top of the mountain, and then take the same route down. The wonders of the Golden Summit are sunrise, sea of clouds, Buddha's light, and holy lights. And not everyone is lucky enough to see all the wonders. This little bit of sea of clouds can only be seen in the process of climbing to the cable car. Because it rains all day, it is difficult to see these wonders. The sunrise is after June, and the sea of clouds is just the right month. As for the Buddha's light and the holy lights, I am afraid that you can only feast your eyes on them if you are lucky enough. The tour guide said that more than 200 days out of more than 300 days a year are rainy and foggy, and we are lucky to have such weather. I really hope she is not comforting us. Behind us is the appearance of the Golden Summit. It is all foggy and you can't see anything clearly. It is not as beautiful as the scenery halfway up the mountain. What do you think?
The scenery I captured while riding the cable car down is better than that at the top of the mountain, and it’s pretty good.
When I climbed up to the Golden Summit of Mount Emei, the feeling I had was beyond description. It was probably like being surrounded by clouds and mist, like ascending to heaven, haha.
Surrounded by clouds and mist, the sun shines on the golden summit, and you can also see Gongga, the king of Shu Mountains, from afar
After getting off the train at Mount Emei Station, take bus No. 13 to Mount Emei Bus Station. It costs 50 RMB for a one-way trip up the mountain (Leidongping). Because our room is booked on the mountain, the ticket to enter Emei is 185 RMB, the cable car is 65 RMB up and 55 RMB down. It is recommended to take the cable car and walk down the mountain. After all, there are still many scenery to see at the foot of the mountain. It is best to get up at 4:30 in the morning to watch the sunrise. At this time, there are fewer people queuing for the cable car and fewer people at the Golden Summit. Unfortunately, there were no clouds when we came, and the sky was blue. I referred to the experiences of so many friends along the way, and I also contributed one.
From the Golden Summit to Samantabhadra Bodhisattva, you can see the Gongga Snow Mountain in the distance, which is very beautiful. After seeing Samantabhadra Bodhisattva, you can continue to walk around, the natural scenery is very good. We played at the Golden Summit for about 2 and a half hours from the time we got off the cable car to the time we were ready to go down the mountain.
I just feel excited about reaching the top, and I don’t care about its connotation.
I drove to Milestone 0 and stayed there for one night. The next day I set off at 6:30 to catch the bus, climbed for 15 minutes, took the cable car, and finally climbed for another 10 minutes to reach my destination.
It was still a bit cold at the top of the mountain when I got there, so I wore a fleece windbreaker.
It was just getting light in the sky, and I thought there were not many people, after all, not many people stayed at the Golden Summit yesterday. Who knew that there were already many people at the best viewing point. It turned out that they were all college students, and they all got up very early to climb the mountain. People who have never been here will not understand that the beautiful scenery can only be best experienced by yourself. As the sky gradually brightened, the layers of the mountains and the sky in the distance became more and more distinct. The scenery is still very beautiful. I really envy the monks who live here, who can enjoy this ever-changing scenery every day. When the sun shines on the four-faced Buddha, the Buddha statue presents a bright golden light, which looks very beautiful with the blue sky behind it.
Friends who go to Jinding can only get off at Leidongping. Then walk for about half an hour, queue up for the cable car, and walk for about half an hour after getting off the cable car, and you can see Jinding. Two things to emphasize here. 1. I went there in mid-February. It was very cold on Jinding, colder than the winter in Northeast China. If you want to rent a jacket, start renting it at the location where you get off at Leidongping. This way you can wear it for a longer time and it is more cost-effective. 2. The cableway is divided into up and down. Buy it in advance. There are too many people queuing and it takes time. There are scalpers selling tickets on the way. The total cost of up and down is 130 yuan (10 yuan more).
When you come to Mount Emei, you must climb the Golden Summit! The heavy fog at that time had a hazy beauty.
When we arrived at the Golden Summit, we were not happy. Although it was a sunny day, the fog on the Golden Summit was so thick that we couldn't even see the Buddha statue on the Golden Summit clearly. Just when we were having breakfast, a strong wind blew over the mountain, and the fog dissipated a lot. The Buddha statue on the Golden Summit suddenly appeared, shining with golden light, which was very bright, but it was immediately covered by fog again. I felt the sense of nothingness and emptiness described in martial arts novels and movies.
We sat down on the stone steps behind the temple and had breakfast. Suddenly, the surroundings were in an uproar. We looked in the direction everyone was pointing and saw a red sun looming in the mist. Immediately, the mist dissipated a little, and we saw the sun rising from the clouds little by little. Finally, the entire sun illuminated the clouds in the sky, and a magnificent sea of clouds appeared that stretched as far as the eye could see. It was so spectacular. Just as we were admiring the beauty of the sunrise and the sea of clouds, a mist suddenly came up, and everything disappeared in an instant, as if a wonderful performance had ended in an instant. We were reluctant to leave, and we also sighed at the magic of nature. We were deeply intoxicated by this fleeting beauty.
Tour guide Xiao Wan accompanied us throughout the trip. We did not go into any shopping stores, but the food and accommodation were OK.
There are two types of cable cars to Jinding, one is a small cable car with a few people, and the other is a large cable car with many people standing like a bus. We chose the small cable car to go up and the big cable car to go down. Sitting on the cable car, it feels like passing through the clouds and coming to the sky. Above your head is the endless blue sky, and under your feet is the vast white sea of clouds. I was so lucky to catch such good weather. The only drawback is that you have to carry your down jacket throughout the trip. The tour guide said that the weather is not necessarily what it will be like every time you go up.
A building was being constructed on the Golden Summit that day, and the construction materials were being carried up the mountain by people.
It snowed on Jinding during the Qingming Festival, so I didn't see the sunrise. But I had more fun playing in the snow. Enjoy yourself.
There was a lot of fog on the Jinding, and we couldn't see anything at all... Fortunately, the wind blew and the fog dissipated for a while, giving us time to appreciate and take pictures. There is a buffet at the Jinding, which costs 50 yuan per person, which is already very affordable in the scenic area.
The view from the Golden Summit is beautiful, with sea of clouds and Buddha's light!
The Golden Summit of Mount Emei, the summit of Shu Mountain, above the clouds, the Ten-Faced Buddha Statue, the Self-Sacrificing Cliff, the sea of clouds... In the world's largest Buddhist worship square, walk around the 48-meter-high [Ten Directions Samantabhadra] giant Buddha to pray for your parents. Overlooking the vast sea of clouds from the Self-Sacrificing Cliff...
I bought the entrance ticket (185 yuan), the sightseeing bus ticket (90 yuan for the whole mountain round trip), and the cable car ticket (120 yuan for round trip). The opening hours of Mount Emei in winter are 06:00~18:30. The bus to the mountain departs every hour. It takes two and a half hours to reach Leidongping. It takes more than half an hour to walk from Leidongping to the entrance of the cable car. The road is frozen and slippery and difficult to walk. The cable car to Jinding stops operating at 6 pm. It is recommended to stay in Jinding, which is relatively convenient. The hotel conditions on Jinding are average, and the prices of food and accommodation are a bit expensive, but it is worth it if you can see the sunset and sunrise. Buy crampons when going up the mountain to prevent slipping. Be sure to arrange the time to go up the mountain reasonably. Attached is the sightseeing bus schedule: 1. From November 1st to April 25th (off-season), 7:00-16:00, every 0.5 hour in the morning, and every hour from 12:00; 2. From April 26th to October 30th (peak season), 6:30-17:00, every 0.5 hour all day. 3. During the Golden Week, 5:00-17:00, every ten minutes in the morning and every 0.5 hour in the afternoon.
Unfortunately, we didn’t see any of the four wonders of the Golden Summit.
However, the square (dam?) under the Golden Dome was frozen, so we found some entertainment activities here~
I think the greater significance of the Golden Summit is that it is a collection of the best of Buddhist culture. This brings a psychological shock.
With the strong support of willpower, we finally arrived at Jinding at 19:10. It took 12 hours to travel more than 44 kilometers in a whole day. It took 1.5 days (18 hours) to reach Jinding 60 kilometers from Baoguo Temple at the foot of the mountain. I give a thumbs up to myself and especially to my leader. Willpower has won over physical strength. The accommodation at Jinding is very expensive. I originally planned to go back to Taiziping to stay at the temple, but it was completely dark, and the rain and fog were very heavy. I was very tired and hungry and cold. Considering that today was so bad, I thought I would stay at Jinding Hotel as a reward. Another reason was that it was foggy and rainy all the way from Leidongping. My hair was basically soaked. I was afraid of catching a cold the next day, so I wanted to stay in a warmer place. Later, it turned out that the decision was right. The sunrise in Emei in winter is around 7:20, and the hotel will remind you.
I like Emei Mountain with snow in winter. The sunrise and sunset are both great. It is also very convenient to stay at the Jinding Hotel.
It is worth getting up early to watch the sunrise.
The sunrise is beautiful and the mood will be good.
Look at the photos near the sunrise.
The lighting is just right too.
I stayed in a hotel next to Huangwan Station on Mount Emei for one night. The next day, I bought a ticket from Huangwan Station to the top of the mountain. I first took a car up the mountain for more than an hour, and arrived at Leidongping, where I took a cable car to the Golden Summit. There was a section of mountain road in the middle, so it was better to travel as light as possible.
Mount Emei is 3,099 meters above sea level, with a large temperature difference. We went there in early April, and the snow was melting the day before. It was very cold, and the trees were dripping with water. It is best to prepare a raincoat in advance. There will also be vendors selling raincoats at the station at the foot of the mountain, and you can get one for 5 yuan. I don't know about the price on the mountain, but it should be quite expensive.
The monkeys on the mountain are very arrogant and are not afraid of people. They will snatch the food from your hands, so be sure not to hold food in your hands. Wearing bright clothes will also make you a favorite target of monkeys. Be careful.
When the weather is bad, the Golden Summit is shrouded in fog and you can't see much. When the sun comes out at noon, the sunlight shines through the clouds and mist onto the statue of Samantabhadra, like the Buddha's light shining everywhere.
