Mount Emei - One Line Sky

The scenery is OK, it's a must-go section to the monkey area.

On the way to Qingyin Pavilion, you will pass by a line of sky. As the name suggests, you can only see a line of sky here. It is extremely quiet and is simply a secluded place.

It is located about 1.5 kilometers behind Qingyin Pavilion. The mountains on both sides are huge and steep, with a stream flowing below, and the scenery is nice.

I hadn't done enough research before going, mistakenly believing the "One Line Sky" path was treacherous and would require careful navigating. It turned out to be a winding path leading to a secluded retreat. As I walked along the plank road, a chilly air washed over me. A thin line of sky overhead, water beneath my feet. Once past the thin line of sky, the temperature rose slightly. Just ten minutes further, I reached the monkey viewing area.

The fatter version of Yixiantian, you are so wide that I walked through it. I am still looking for Yixiantian on the map.

On the way to the monkey area, you will encounter a scene with a fast-flowing stream in the middle of the canyon. The air is humid and cool.

I passed by it while climbing the mountain. It was indeed very narrow. Mount Emei was already very warm during the Spring Festival!

The view of Yitiantian is not very shocking.

Mount Emei is also known as Baiyun Gorge. The outside of the gorge is open and bright, while the inside of the gorge is steep and cool. The temperature difference between the inside and outside of the gorge is large, and the feeling is strong. Entering the gorge and looking up, you can see steep cliffs on both sides, slanting into the clouds. Through the sparse vines, branches and leaves, a line of blue sky is revealed. It is more than 200 meters high and about 6 meters wide. The narrowest part is only 3 meters, which can only accommodate two people passing sideways. This scene is called "A Line of Sky".

Entering the canyon and stepping onto the plank road, looking up, you will see steep cliffs on both sides, piercing the sky diagonally, like a mountain split by a sharp axe.

If you climb the mountain, you will pass by. It is a very nice attraction!

Yitiantian Canyon, as the name suggests, has steep scenery.

After getting off the bus at Wuxiangang, it still takes another 1.5 hours of hiking to reach the destination. This is the thickest line of sky I have ever seen. If no one tells you, it really doesn’t look like it.

To be honest, it's not very distinctive, but it's nice to walk around.

After visiting the Ten Directions Samantabhadra Statue and Huazang Temple at Golden Summit, take the cable car back to Leidongping and then take a sightseeing bus to the Wannian Temple parking lot to visit Wannian Temple, Qingyin Pavilion, Yixiantian (One Line Sky), and the ecological monkey area. This entire route requires walking, so it's recommended to depart Golden Summit early to avoid disrupting your itinerary.

I have been to Mount Emei three times. The scenery is beautiful and the experience is great.

Mount Emei's "One Line Sky", also known as Baiyun Gorge, is a canyon where, when you look up, you will see steep cliffs on both sides slanting into the clouds. In the past, this stretch of mountain road had no plank roads. Travelers had to wade back and forth across streams, stepping on rocks and wading through the water. This is why it's commonly known as the "Twenty-Four Paths." The plank roads were dangerous, narrow, and crude, and visitors often fell. The "One Line Sky" section is a naturally dangerous path, over 200 meters high and about 6 meters wide. At its narrowest point, it's only 3 meters wide, allowing only two people to pass sideways. Of course, it's no longer dangerous now, and serves only as a place to admire this natural wonder.

The only way from Wuxiangang to the Wild Monkey Scenic Area is to reach Shuangyin Bridge, then Qingyin Pavilion, and then Yixiantian. The scenery along the way is really beautiful, and the wonders of nature are really amazing.

Yixiantian is located above Qingyin Pavilion. Going further ahead is the monkey area. The scenery here is very beautiful. It is surrounded by mountains and there are mountain springs flowing below. There are carved stone statues along the plank road, which is very nice.

I have to recommend this place. Nature is indeed the most successful sculptor.

The environment is average, probably because it's winter.

Entering the One-Line Sky is also the way to see the monkeys, and you will get tired from running.

Continuing up, we reach Baiyun Gorge. Rocky cliffs tower on either side, with icy water flowing below. Atop towering ancient trees, a thin strip of blue sky is visible, earning it the nickname "One Line Sky." This is the result of 70 million years of rapid uplift caused by tectonic shifts in the Earth's crust, which then forced the river to carve a deep groove into the rock. In ancient times, monks traveled here by drilling holes in the rock face, inserting wooden stakes as beams, and then laying horizontal wooden planks across the stakes as bridge planks. The creaking and swaying of the plank road as people stepped on it was quite frightening. After 1980, the modern reinforced concrete prefabricated plank road was rebuilt to facilitate travel. While this path lacks the original charm of the ancient plank road, it offers a flatter and more spacious space, allowing you to fully appreciate the natural beauty without any worries. The guardrails of the plank road are decorated with sculptures of various monkeys, as we are about to arrive at the Emeishan Ecological Monkey Area, where you can observe and play with the monkeys.

There is only a small section of the One-Line Sky, which is far inferior to the One-Line Sky in Wulong, Chongqing.

The area of Yixiantian is not large, and it is not easy to walk if there are too many people. But when we walked through there, it was fine and smooth.

If you go hiking, you will pass by. It is good and the scenery is beautiful.

To be honest, Sichuan is full of beautiful scenery, but I don’t like the people there, because some of the people near the scenic spots are bad.

I didn't see what the Line Sky was like, but I just knew there was such a scenic spot, which was quite embarrassing.

I feel like this is a scene that everyone will see when talking about mountains, it's just so-so~

It's a very ordinary tourist attraction. It's just a two-step walk to the ecological monkey area. It is said that there are monkeys stationed here usually. We went there early and the monkeys had not come out yet.

Walk about 10 minutes from Qingyin Pavilion to reach Yitiantian, where the scenery is average.

Didn't see any monkeys, there was a stream, it was just okay.

It's okay, it's just cooler. It's a good place to rest when climbing in the summer.

The stone walls on both sides are steep and covered with moss and green plants. Looking up at the sky through the cracks in the rocks, dewdrops occasionally drip onto my face, which is refreshing and refreshing. I really like this feeling, and the fatigue from climbing disappears in an instant.

The route from Qingyin Pavilion to Yixiantian (One Line Sky) and on to the ecological monkey area is the most picturesque section of Mount Emei. I personally feel this section is the easiest of the entire Emei Mountain climb, and crucially, the scenery is breathtaking. We departed from Qingyin Pavilion and walked along a streamside plank path for about half an hour to reach Yixiantian (One Line Sky). Upon entering the canyon, we gazed upon towering cliffs on both sides, as if a mountain had been split open by a sharp axe. At its narrowest point, the path is only three meters wide, barely wide enough for two people to pass sideways. The surrounding canyon is densely forested, and the air is incredibly fresh, a true breathtaking experience. Throughout Yixiantiantian, not only can you admire the mountains, but you can also listen to the gurgling water below. Visitors can choose to walk along the plank path or along the stream, each offering a unique experience. Beyond Yixiantian, we reach Mount Emei's famous ecological monkey area.

Compared with the numerous One-Line Sky holes across the country, this one is considered relatively large, but I didn’t have much impression of it. I just passed by in a hurry and was eager to see the monkeys.

To reach the ecological monkey area from Qingyin Pavilion, one must cross a canyon called Baiyun Gorge. One section is steep, narrow, and dark, giving the impression of being trapped between mountains and rivers, with seemingly no path forward. The mountaintops overhead appear to have been split by an axe, with cliffs about a hundred meters high plunging into the clouds on either side, leaving only a two- to three-meter-wide strip of blue sky visible. Through the vines and branches, one can vaguely see three large, vermilion characters carved into the cliff face: "One Line of Sky."

It's a short road with cliffs on both sides. There are wooden railings on the roadside with cute little monkeys carved on them.

The unique "One Line Sky" is to find an angle to take a picture of the gap between two rocks. In fact, the road around the corner is wider.

I personally think this section is the most beautiful part of the mountain road. Mountains and water coexist, and the water is particularly cool, worthy of Nongfu Spring!

Yixiantian is a low mountain area with an altitude of no more than 900 meters. Generally, there is no ice or snow. Even if there is, it is not freezing cold. You can see the blue sky through the cracks in the rocks. This natural landscape is called "Yixiantian", also known as "Yizitian".

The scenery is beautiful, but the fog is a bit heavy, so the viewing effect is not ideal!

As soon as I arrived here, scenes from martial arts novels immediately appeared in my mind. To be honest, they fit the scene very well. I felt like the characters in martial arts novels were living here.

When I was going there, I was almost at the narrow passage when I got hit on the head so hard that I almost had a concussion.

When we set out from Qingyin Pavilion, we met two handsome guys from Beijing, and we traveled together.

When we were almost at Hongchunping, we passed them, and we never met them again!

The gap between the two mountains is covered with green trees, and it looks very steep from here.

Yixiantian, a place you must pass through to see monkeys
