I went to Niubei Mountain on October 2. I don't recommend going there before the Niubei Mountain scenic area is fully developed. First, the journey is too long (Chengdu → Luding → Lenqi → Dengjun Zhangjia → Pumaidi → Jinding), second, the path is too difficult to walk on rainy days, third, the top of the mountain is too foggy and you can't see anything, and fourth, the mountain is closed. It's snowing heavily on the mountain recently, which is dangerous.

The mountain is still closed, and the trail is not easy to walk on. The security guards and villagers have their own plans. It is recommended to wear hiking shoes and do not go up the mountain alone at night!

It has been all over the circle of friends in the past few years. The sea of ​​clouds, sunrise, Buddha's light... a 360-degree observation deck. The most important reason is that it is free... Of course, this was 15 years ago. In 2015, it was bought by a travel company and developed in a closed manner. No outside vehicles were allowed to enter. There are two roads to go up Niubei Mountain, one is Lengi and the other is Xingjing. I couldn’t tell them apart before I came here. My companion had gone up from Xingjing before and it took two days, which was not very convenient. The advantage of Lengi is that there is a bus to Yujingou in the middle, which can save several kilometers and reach the top of the mountain in one day.

So my companions and I took the bus to Yujingou early in the morning. When we arrived at Yujingou, we found that the local youth hostel was closed. We took the small road and the main road to the Pumaidi Station, which was also closed. It seems that Niubei Mountain is really cold.

The whole way is climbing up, and there are many small paths. It is recommended to use an outdoor assistant or something like that, so that the track can be exported even without signal. Soon after going up, traces of ice and snow appeared one after another, but there was no trace of development at all. Later, I heard that the travel company had just made a plan but had not yet implemented it. It seems that it will be a long process to wait for the scenic spot to be repaired and developed. After climbing for several hours, I finally met a group of tourists coming down the mountain. I learned that there was only one accommodation up there, and it was still 2 hours away from the top of the mountain.

Strictly speaking, there are only two accommodation options on Niubei Mountain. If the leader of a travel agency happens to be inspecting (bringing people up to play), you are not allowed to stay there. There are also security guards on the road at ordinary times, and tourists are not allowed to go up the mountain or they will be "fined".

The current Niubei Mountain is not as primitive as it used to be, and the road to the mountain has become a building made of many pieces of wood (there are still restrictions on the number of people going up the mountain, and the key is that the price is several hundred yuan more expensive. Fortunately, I did not choose to go this time.
