The scenery is very beautiful, I like it very much. Originally, the people in Yibin were very nice, warm and friendly. It was just that the driver of a scenic spot had a very bad attitude. He was so aggressive towards tourists that I was very angry. The bus there was the most expensive one I have ever taken. The bus price was 55 yuan. The signal in the scenic area was unstable. The scenic spots were a bit far apart. It was very suitable for exercise. The mountain was very steep. Private cars could be driven in before, but now you can only drive in if you stay there.

The ticket price for Shunan Bamboo Sea was 155 yuan. Luckily, I was traveling alone, so I rushed to pay the 155 yuan, as if it were free. Other groups had a hard time buying tickets, shouting at the top of their lungs...

I arrived at the scenic area at 12 noon, and at 12:20 the sightseeing bus left the visitor center and entered the scenic area.

I took bus Line 1, which took tourists to a shuttle bus assembly point. After getting off the bus, I had to rely entirely on my mouth.

After getting off the bus, I saw a table on the roadside with staff and volunteers answering questions. I asked, "Now that I've gotten off the bus, how should I get around?"

Answer: Take whatever bus you want to go.

I didn't know either. (Luckily, a friend mentioned that there was a "Tianbao Village" in the Shunan Bamboo Sea.) So I confidently said I wanted to go to Tianbao Village.

Take Line 2.

There are several sightseeing bus lines in the scenic area, all parked near this gathering place. I first asked a sightseeing bus driver, then consulted the staff with red hoops, and finally asked a tour guide before I found the departure point of Line 2.

(The temporary departure points for sightseeing buses keep changing, so any guide you look at will be of no use.)

I was confused for a long time at the shuttle bus assembly point. At that time, I noticed that the shuttle buses in the scenic area were of various types: buses, tourist buses, luxury buses, etc. I thought, maybe these buses were temporarily requisitioned from Yibin Long-distance Bus Station during the peak season to take short trips?

Since I was alone, I was able to jump on a scenic area Line 2 bus (public bus) that was about to depart, while the other large groups of tourists had to wait for the next bus.

The car drove at full speed for a long time, and I felt so tired for it, but finally it arrived at the station!

The world-renowned Shunan Bamboo Sea, located in Yibin City in southern Sichuan, covers an area of 120 square kilometers, with a core scenic area of 44 square kilometers. It boasts eight main scenic areas, two secondary scenic areas, and 134 scenic spots. The scenic area boasts 58 species of bamboo, covering over 70,000 mu (approximately 1,000 acres). It is my country's largest pristine "Green Bamboo Park," integrating mountains, water, caves, lakes, waterfalls, and a rich cultural heritage. With a vegetation coverage rate of 87%, it offers a natural oxygen bar with exceptionally high levels of negative ions. The Shunan Bamboo Sea is a veritable sea of bamboo, with over 70,000 mu (approximately 1,000 acres) of lush bamboo covering 27 mountain ranges and over 500 peaks. Fifteen genera and 58 species of bamboo grow here. In addition to the common Phyllostachys nanmu, Phyllostachys edulis, and Phyllostachys cirrhosa, rare species such as Phyllostachys purpurogenum, Phyllostachys arhatii, Phyllostachys chinensis, and Phyllostachys truncatum are also found.

Jade Corridor + Guanhai Tower: The most beautiful place to see the beauty of bamboo, and it's also very crowded. Drones can fly freely over Guanhai Tower, allowing you to take aerial photos of the tower, the bamboo sea, and the cableway.

Sea in the Sea: A lake in the bamboo sea, said to be the filming location of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (some say it is Anji). You can take a boat, but you have to row it yourself, which is quite tiring.

Longyin Temple: The highest point in the bamboo sea, offering a bird's-eye view of the entire area. We visited twice. The first time, the fog was so thick we couldn't see anything. But in the evening, we were still determined to go back to the Colorful Waterfall and were not disappointed. The drone view was amazing.

Guanyun Pavilion: The filming location of the 2008 Olympic Games, where a hundred turtles pay homage to their parents, is actually just average.

Tianbaozhai + Xianyudong: Pure mountain climbing, Danxia landform, but it is far less spectacular than Chishui, with few highlights. You can skip it if you are short on time.

My girlfriend and I went there on June 15th. We had originally planned to drive there, but when we got to the main gate of the bamboo sea, cars were not allowed in. The entrance fee was 100 yuan, and the sightseeing bus was 55 yuan. Without the sightseeing bus, we had to walk in. To be honest, the Shunan Bamboo Sea is just a large area surrounded by bamboo trees. Inside is just ordinary rural areas. There are not many attractions to see, and you just walk around in the countryside. If you can drive in, it would be fine. It is originally a rural area suitable for self-driving tours. Accommodation and food are expensive. I really don't recommend visiting here.

I don't know if it was just luck, but the people I met in the scenic area were all kind, friendly, and enthusiastic. Two passengers from bus A got on bus B by mistake. The driver of bus C saw this and immediately called the driver of bus B. Then bus A arrived and saw the two passengers were indifferent, so he rushed down and told them to hurry up... You can buy tickets at the gate (100 yuan) and you must buy a sightseeing bus ticket (55 yuan). Theoretically, you can walk through this scenic area in 3,000 steps because there are buses connecting all the attractions. You don't have to buy tickets on Taobao or China-TravelNote; it won't save you much. And after buying tickets, be careful not to go to the east entrance where you can't pick up your tickets. Regarding attractions: 1. Don't go to Haizhonghai or Xiannv Lake. There's drainage work going on recently, so there's no water to see. 2. Go to Guanyuntai to watch the Hundred Turtles Paying Homage in the early morning when it's foggy. Don't waste time going there at other times. 3. Tianbao Village is not visible on the sightseeing bus map; walk under Xianyudong instead. 4. Personally, I think the best route is to take Bus No. 1 from the West Gate directly to Xianyudong. At Wanli, transfer to Bus No. 2 to the Colorful Waterfall. Then, take Bus No. 2 in the opposite direction to Yingfeng Bay and Jiguanling. At Jiguanling, transfer to Bus No. 4 to Longyin Temple. At the fork in the road, go to the Jade Corridor (you can transfer to Bus No. 1 or walk there). From Jade, take the one-way cable car to Moxixia, walk up a tree-lined path, then return to Moxixia. Take Bus No. 3 to the museum and Wangyou Valley, then transfer to Bus No. 1 back to the sightseeing bus visitor center (usually, private cars are used for the return trip). This route is streamlined, you won't miss any attractions, and you can complete the trip in one day.

The overall feeling is good. Although I came in winter, I feel that summer will be very beautiful. Longyin Temple is good! I look forward to staying a few more days in summer.

The scenic area is very large, with bamboo forests. Given the gathering of pandas and the success of the movie Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, the beauty and grandeur of the Shunan Bamboo Sea are no less than that of Arashiyama in Kyoto, Japan.

The Shunan Bamboo Sea is a tourist drawcard for Yibin, Sichuan. Located in Changning County, the scenic area is vast, encompassing eight major scenic areas and over 100 scenic spots. Over 400 species of bamboo, including native and introduced species such as nanmu, water bamboo, and giant dragon bamboo, make it a true bamboo museum. Summer is the best time to visit. Although peak season, walking through the bamboo sea is refreshingly cool and the area feels less crowded. The air is fresh and pure, and the birdsong, vibrant flowers, and vibrant greenery are all a delightful experience. In addition to the diverse bamboo, the area boasts scenic landscapes, caves, lakes, and waterfalls, all offering breathtaking views. The high vegetation coverage makes it a natural oxygen bar, making it a popular summer escape. Buses run every ten minutes from Yibin South Railway Station to Changning County. The journey from Changning to the bamboo sea takes about 40 minutes. Minibuses are plentiful, and carpooling is possible for larger groups. Cable cars and taxis run to various scenic spots within the area, allowing for a combination of walking and transportation. The peak season entrance fee is 110 yuan, which is quite expensive. A free entrance ticket system is available, meaning you don't need to purchase one upon entering the area. Accommodation in Bamboo Sea is mainly concentrated in the Wanli, Wanling and Xianyudong service areas. If you have a day to visit, don't consider staying here. There are only farmhouse hotels with average conditions but very high prices.

It's very good, but the construction is not yet fully developed, so you should contact the people in the scenic area in advance to facilitate reception. If there are 6-7 people, it's enough. If there are more people, you can find a local guide and rent 2-3 cars. The scenic spot is very beautiful and worth a visit. It's good value for money.

I've been there twice and personally think it's more suitable for a self-driving tour. There's a direct bus to the scenic area from Chengdu's Chadianzi Station. One of the scenic spots is called Moxi, which is not well-known, but I strongly recommend going in and taking a look around.

It's a great place to escape the summer heat, and the natural scenery is also beautiful. You'll see women selling dried mushrooms everywhere along the way. There's also cured pork ribs—you can grab one and nibble on it while walking, hahaha! And as for the lianggao (cold cake), how can you not try it when you're in Yibin? Finally, a full bamboo banquet before leaving would make the trip worthwhile.

Shunan Bamboo Sea is worth a visit, but the road surface needs to be improved. I was hit by a pothole on the road approaching the bamboo sea, and a bulge the size of an egg appeared on my left front wheel. I had no choice but to replace the tire. If you want to go there, be sure to be careful of the traps on the road. . . . .

The scenery of Shunan Bamboo Sea is nice and worth a visit. It is also a summer resort.

The trap is so complex, anyone who comes here will be fooled! Transportation to the scenic area is extremely inconvenient. You can only charter a car, drive yourself, or join a tour group. The main entrance to the first attraction is an 8-kilometer mountain road, and the attractions inside are all over 2 kilometers apart! Some attractions require a ferry, which costs extra! Longyin Temple is a shady temple. There is no incense at all inside. You can go up and see it, but don't listen to the explanations or worship the Buddha. It's a trap. They will lead you in step by step and make you pay a lot of money! I was cheated out of 399 yuan! I can only say that one trick after another is more complicated!

The bamboos in the Shunan Bamboo Sea are incredibly slender, about as thick as my arm, short and curving, similar to the bamboo you'd find everywhere in the countryside, only on a much larger scale. Previously, in Dazhu County, where I'd been to an unexplored bamboo sea, each bamboo was thicker than a bowl, towering straight and tall like a tree. Looking up at it made me gasp. Compared to that place, the Shunan Bamboo Sea wins only in fame. And come winter, the thick fog rolls in, and there's not much to see!

We did not enter the Shunan Bamboo Sea Scenic Area, but just parked in the parking lot at the entrance of the scenic area and took a few photos. However, we learned about the situation inside the scenic area in detail and thought that the Shunan Bamboo Sea Scenic Area is more suitable for leisure and vacation travel.

It's very ordinary. Just look at the bamboos and it's a farm stay.

The Shunan Bamboo Sea is truly breathtaking, and you'll regret it if you don't visit. Cons: The road signs are small and few, making it difficult to find your way. There's a section of bad road at the east gate, with a steep downhill slope, which is very dangerous. I hope the scenic area can fix it. There are too many hotels and farmhouses in the scenic area; construction should be halted.

The Shunan Bamboo Sea is very famous, but because of its great fame, people may feel a little disappointed after seeing it. The Emerald Corridor is a boring place, and the cable car equipment is old. It may be that the weather was not very good during the days when I was there. The fog was quite heavy and affected the vision. Sitting in the cable car lacked the shocking feeling of sailing on the green waves, but if you don’t sit, it seems a little lacking. After all, it is said that you can see the whole bamboo sea. In summary, it is a pity to throw it away. The same is true for Longyin Temple. Due to time constraints, I did not go to the Colorful Waterfall, Qinglong Lake, and Colorful Lake. Fortunately, I saw them later. The Fairy Lake, Xianyu Cave, and Tianbao Village are good places, otherwise I really feel cheated. To be fair, it is recommended to visit the Shunan Bamboo Sea for 1-2 days. It would be boring if it is longer. It is still worth considering as a summer resort.

The food is very expensive, a meal for three people cost 400-500 yuan. The view is okay.

It's truly a sea of bamboo, with bamboo lining both sides of the road. A drone would be fantastic! The scenery is stunning, and for souvenirs, there are bamboo carvings and ducklings. Food options include bacon, pork ribs, and other whole grains. You need a boat ticket to cross the river at the Colorful Waterfall, which isn't expensive. However, the other attractions, like Fairy Lake or somewhere else (forgive me for forgetting), are a bit pricey. If you're going on holidays and want to take the shuttle, it's best to contact the scenic area beforehand to see if they have any sightseeing buses running during the holidays. We went during the National Day holiday, with my friend going first and my family and I driving. She wouldn't have been able to enjoy the scenery if she had gone. The Shunan Bamboo Sea is quite large, and the sightseeing buses weren't running during the National Day holiday, making walking around impractical! This is something to keep in mind.

We went there at night and stayed overnight with a local family. The air was very humid, so the sheets were a little damp. I recommend wearing something warm. The air is quite good! The air was fresh in the morning because the area was covered in bamboo (literally, bamboo! There wasn't a single other tree!). My family was on a road trip, and we hired a local guide who took us to several temples. They offered free incense to burn, but remember, it's a scam! (There's no such thing as a free lunch! They'll eventually ask you to have your fortune told and pray for good fortune, which is a rip-off! We were definitely ripped off anyway -_-#) Only Longyin Temple was good. It's said to be a royal temple and worth a visit. It has a very old feel. Then we went to see the waterfall. It's actually spring water flowing down the mountain 😂. If you want to see it, go see it; I wasn't impressed. (By the way, there's a separate fee for crossing the river there, not included in the entrance fee!) I especially recommend the sightseeing cable car and the Grand Canyon cable car! The sightseeing cable car is the longest of all the cable cars I've ever taken! The round trip takes about an hour and is quite affordable! The Grand Canyon Cableway is one way to get to the Xianyu Cave Scenic Area. The environment there is quite nice, with stone statues carved into the cliffs and other wonders. You can also see many locals selling local specialties, which is quite nice! (Tip: You have to pay to burn incense at the temple there. If you are a Buddhist, you can go and pay a visit.)

A southern Sichuan city suitable for tourism and vacation, with wine, tea and stories

I think this place is worth spending a few more days, even to escape the summer heat. It's really nice, with several big mountains for you to play, and it's best to drive yourself. The air quality is amazing

The Shunan Bamboo Sea Scenic Area is very large, with lakes, waterfalls, cliff caves, temples and other landscapes. The breeze is swaying, the bamboo shadows are dancing, and the air is fresh. There are two gates to enter the scenic area (West Gate and East Gate). There are many hotels and farmhouses of different grades to choose from in the scenic area.

If you ignore the heavy traffic during National Day, this is a truly wonderful destination. Tickets are 112 yuan for adults and 57 yuan for students, with insurance covering only 5 yuan per person, which only covers one entry and exit. However, if you want to spend three or five days in the area, that's perfectly fine. There are two small towns within the area where you can stay, and hotels are readily available at each major attraction, making it very convenient. The most enjoyable attractions, I think, are the Colorful Waterfall, Wangyou Valley, and the Bamboo Sea Cableway. The cableway, at 55 yuan round-trip, is exceptionally worthwhile. The scenic area's famous bamboo banquet is a favorite, but since we were small, we could only sample a few. The pickled pepper bamboo fungus eggs, bamboo tube tofu pudding, and spring bamboo shoots and twice-cooked pork were all delicious.

There are two types of cable cars, 55 for a round trip and 85 for a round trip between the two cities. It is recommended that compatriots who are traveling by car choose one, which is more interesting.

When you go up the cable car, you can see the Emerald Corridor (actually I think the whole bamboo sea is the Emerald Corridor, it doesn’t matter), and there are also some ponds (you can also go canoeing), the scenery is pretty much the same.

Admission is 115 yuan per person, with seniors free. The attractions are scattered throughout, so you must drive to explore, which costs 10 yuan per car. I highly recommend staying a few nights in the Bamboo Sea to fully experience the area and experience the vibrant atmosphere of the mornings and evenings. On the way from the scenic area to the hotel, we passed the [Film and Television Base], where "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" and "House of Flying Daggers" were filmed.

You can go bamboo rafting here, which costs 40 yuan per person. The tour guide negotiated the price to 30 yuan per person.

Shunan Bamboo Sea is definitely worth a two-day trip. We arrived late and couldn't fully enjoy it. Its cable car (50 yuan round trip) is worth a ride, and the sea boating is not to be missed (40 yuan per person). The other attractions seem to be included in the 115 yuan ticket price. The next day, after breakfast, we went to take the cable car.

Then return to the Fairy Lake parking lot, walk along a long and beautiful forest path to the Fairy Lake, take a bamboo raft across the lake for 5 yuan, and then continue all the way to a viewing platform before starting to go down the mountain to Tianbao Village and Xianyu Cave. This plank road on the mountainside is beautiful, and the snacks after passing the Zuobi Shang viewing point are also delicious. After passing the reclining Buddha, you will start to climb a very steep set of stairs. After going up, turn left to take the canyon cable car.

, turn right and go straight to the exit. Not far away, go up a slope of about 60 meters to reach the flat road, and the Fairy Lake parking lot is in front. If you go in the opposite direction for this section of the road, it will probably be much more difficult, because the downhill road is only about 200 meters, and the rest of the road is basically uphill.

The scenery is beautiful, all green and covered with bamboo forests. A few suggestions

1. This is not what you imagine. The bamboo forest area is very large. It is like a nature reserve connected by mountains.

2. Don't try hiking. You can't enjoy the scenic area without a car. It is recommended to drive a private car. The road is very narrow and will be congested during peak tourist season.

3. Don't come here in the summer. It's not a place to escape the heat. It's very hot.

4. Remember, this isn't a bamboo forest with gurgling water. It feels like the bamboo is all on the mountain. This means that many of the best views require hiking. Don't take the Fairy Lake loop, which takes two hours and is very tiring.

5. The core scenic area is Xianyu Cave, Tianbaozhai, and the colorful waterfall. The rest are similar. Don't go to any lakes or seas, you will be disappointed.

6. Generally, you enter from the West Gate and exit from the East Gate. Attractions are concentrated in the West Gate area. Please remember this when booking a room.

It's really beautiful here. There's a lake near the top of the mountain, surrounded by bamboos. When I look up, there's only blue sky and white clouds. It's so clean and quiet. I really enjoy this time.

Tickets are sold 24 hours a day, the scenery is beautiful, and the people are very welcoming. After the rain, the bamboo sea has a touch of shyness, like a woman holding a pipa and half covering her face!

Again, transportation isn't very convenient, there aren't many attractions, and they're all too far apart. There's no standard sightseeing bus, so it would take days to walk through the area. The bamboo sea cable car costs 55 yuan for the entire journey, and it takes more than 40 minutes to go back and forth, which is very cost-effective.

You must charter a car or share a car, because the scenic area is really large and the distance between the attractions is far. If you want to save the cost of sharing a car, please be cautious. In addition, if you do not share a car, there is a bus to Zhuhai that costs 22 yuan and you have to transfer, which is time-consuming and not recommended. Moreover, you will not be able to play in the scenic area without chartering a car.

Setting off means we may have to wait for the bus. I always thought that Shunan Bamboo Sea was not far from Yibin City. Although the ticket price was only a few yuan, we took an hour's bus. It was really too far.

After an hour, we finally saw scattered bamboos outside the car window, and everyone was excited! As soon as we got off the car, many people asked if we wanted to take the car to other places. They were all private drivers, and the situation in major scenic spots was probably similar!

The Shunan Bamboo Sea is shaped like a zigzag, wide from east to west and narrow from north to south, and is a typical Danxia landform.

Climb the more than 2,700-meter-long bamboo sea cableway and overlook the panoramic view of the bamboo sea, which will give you a broader perspective.

Standing on the 6-story Guanhai Tower and overlooking the bamboo sea, you can see thousands of mountains.

Here you can taste the famous local "all-bamboo banquet", where all the dishes on the table are made of bamboo.

I got up and went to Zhuhai to play. The cable car in Zhuhai is very long, costing 40 yuan for a round trip, and it takes an hour to go back and forth.

The air in the bamboo forest is fresh and the temperature is suitable. If you have enough time, it is better to stay for three to five days.

The county seat is only about 30 kilometers away from the bamboo sea, and we arrived in no time. Before we even saw the entrance to the scenic area, the scenery along the road had already made us exclaim in amazement. The scenery is beautiful, but there are too many insects and mosquitoes in the bamboo forest. In addition, I forgot to charge my camera, so I couldn't take any photos. I only played for less than an hour before leaving Moxi.

The Shunan Bamboo Sea is the filming location of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. There are dense bamboo forests and a "sea within the sea" where you can go bamboo rafting.

The Emerald Corridor, featured in the Shunan Bamboo Sea promotional poster, is not only famous but also a beautiful sight. It's a must-see and a must-see for many scenic spots. It's actually not very long, only a few hundred meters. The road is paved with natural red sandstone, creating a striking contrast with the emerald green bamboo. Fortunately, the road was less crowded during dinner time; if it were during the day, photos would have been filled with people. After the rain, the emerald green bamboo and the red sandstone ground were truly beautiful! Breathing in the moist and refreshing forest air after the rain was a delight. From the top floor of the nine-story Guanhai Tower, you can take in the panoramic view of the bamboo sea in the distance, feel the gentle breeze after the rain, and watch the sunset. It's truly beautiful! And after dinner, the area is very quiet and deserted!

It's okay to go there in the summer to enjoy the cool air. There's really nothing to do there. You need to charter a car for the whole trip. The distance between the attractions is quite far. You will be very excited when you see them at first, but after looking at them for a long time, you will see only two rows of bamboos.

It is cooler in the summer. The bamboo fungus noodles are delicious and nutritious. Eating them and feeling the fragrance of bamboo will make you feel relaxed and happy.

Southern Sichuan Bamboo Sea

There is no dust disturbance in southern Sichuan, and there is a sea of bamboo in the river.

The lost traveler at the riverbank has just dawned, and sits down to sing a few words as he walks.

Climbing to the heights of Qintai, the years have given people peace.

If it weren't for the guests from far away, I wouldn't have gone. I went a few times when I was a kid. This is the only place I'm interested in in Yibin. Oh, and there's also the Bai people's hanging coffins and the Xingwen Stone Sea. I'm proud to introduce them. Everyone is welcome to come and see them.

On the first weekend of November 2012, I discussed with my husband about driving to a nearby attraction and practicing my craft. We settled on the Shunan Bamboo Sea. It was our first road trip—so exciting! Because the road to the sea was under construction, we took a detour through Changning, which only added an hour to our journey, bringing the total to nearly four hours.

I chose to go to Shunan Bamboo Sea to bid farewell to my life which has always been like this. This August feels extremely important to me.

It took me a whole day from 10 am to 8 pm to tour the entire Bamboo Sea. It would have been impossible to do it on foot alone. Fortunately, I met a kind uncle who did not despise me as an old-fashioned tourist and took me to various scenic spots. Although time was tight and I could not enjoy the beauty of each attraction, I understood a lot after Uncle Shui’s detailed explanation.

I drove myself, from the entrance of the scenic area all the way to each small attraction. As soon as I opened the car door, annoying farmhouse owners would rush over to solicit customers. Traffic jams were inevitable near each attraction, mostly because the road was too narrow for tour buses to drive. Some buses even parked on one side of the two-lane road. Compared to the absurd traffic jams, the so-called various attractions were even more difficult to complain about. If you are interested, you must go and see the sea within the sea...

There are more people than bamboos. Several so-called tourist attractions are in very bad condition and basically no one maintains them. There are only farmhouses everywhere to attract tourists. The bamboo sea is no longer the bamboo sea in the movie.

February 13-14, 2013. I hiked all the essential attractions of Shunan Bamboo Sea by myself. Originally, we were supposed to go with a group, but due to the Lunar New Year, many friends couldn't make it, so I ended up going alone. This is a matter of principle in society: in the end, you're the only one who has to shoulder the responsibility. The freedom to go on your own at any time allows you to fully experience the quietude that comes with being alone, to hear only the joy that comes from being alone on the road. Nothing can stop you from walking alone.

It was last year that I went to Shunan Bamboo Sea. I was a student at that time and earned 700 yuan during my vacation.

My parents are always arguing and I'm also facing academic challenges, so I want to go out and relax.

Over the weekend, we packed our backpacks and set off on our budget trip. We were visiting the scenic area during the off-season, so student tickets were 50% off at 55 yuan. Hehe, I thought it would be 70 yuan, but that saved us some money. Let me briefly describe our itinerary; feel free to point out any shortcomings!

In April, bamboo shoots are the most beautiful.

Then go to Shunan Bamboo Sea, which is only 70 kilometers away from Yibin and a one and a half hour drive away.

Coincidentally, my two recent visits to the Bamboo Sea were both in April, and the sky was sprinkled with fine drizzle and the weather was slightly cool.

Before arriving in Sichuan, I'd heard that southern Sichuan's bamboo forests, stretching like mountains and seas, are the largest bamboo forests in China. Although located in southeastern Sichuan and subject to year-round humidity and heat, this vast expanse of bamboo automatically regulates the temperature, keeping southern Sichuan's winters mild and its summers mild, making it a natural summer retreat and a haven for cooling off.

Chinese people always have a special feeling for bamboo. Countless poems and countless classical Chinese elements are inseparable from the companionship of bamboo culture.

Since the Wei and Jin Dynasties when the Seven Sages of the Bamboo Grove came into being, this tall, hairy grass has been deeply integrated into Chinese culture. People would rather eat without meat than live without bamboo.

I also deeply love the peaceful and tranquil atmosphere created by the rhythm of bamboo. For bamboo lovers, a visit to this largest bamboo sea in southern Sichuan is a must.

Due to limited time, we cannot visit all the attractions, and now is not the best time to go to the Bamboo Sea. It is probably better to go in August and September when it is very hot outside but gradually starts to cool down. This is something you have to experience personally.

I stayed in Yibin for three years, and finally went to the Bamboo Sea before leaving. People always look "high and far" and ignore the scenery around them.

After wandering around, asking questions, and finally choosing a bamboo folding fruit bowl, I finally bought one. My arms were covered in mosquito bites, and I thought to myself, "The mosquitoes in the bamboo sea are really tough!" It turned out that this was just the tip of the iceberg. The farmhouse I stayed in was about a kilometer from the town, tucked away on a quiet side road. The tranquility was so peaceful that I couldn't think of anything, yet I was lost in thought. It was a perfect place to just sit there and relax!

You can choose to stay in the Bamboo Sea either up or down the mountain. Farmhouses are more plentiful and relatively affordable down there, generally around 50 yuan per room, and the rooms are relatively clean. For hotels, I recommend going up the mountain, where rates range from 120 to 180 yuan, and rooms are not in short supply. This time, I even went to great lengths to find a place online called Jinzhuyuan, only to be told they were sold out when I arrived in Yibin. What a complete disloyalty! There's no need to book a room; you can bargain on the spot.

Bamboo Sea is in Changning County, 80 kilometers from Lizhuang. I figured it would take about two hours to get there. As I sped along, I looked at the road signs and saw I was still a dozen kilometers from Gong County. Something felt wrong; I had to go to Changning County! I saw a few noodle shops on the roadside and stopped to eat some noodles. I asked the locals, "I'm coming from Lizhuang and want to go to Bamboo Sea." The woman selling noodles said, "You're going the wrong way. To get to Changning, you have to go through Lizhuang. Go that way." I was confused. No way! I hadn't gotten the general direction right. If I had, wouldn't I have run dozens of kilometers in vain? I pulled out a map and carefully examined my location. Finally, I understood. The locals had mistaken Lizhuang for Liduan, another small town, just to the right of the way I'd come. I had to go back a little and turn onto the Liduan road to reach Changning. Beyond Changning County, I'd reach my destination: Bamboo Sea. I asked a few people my age who had stopped to eat noodles. After figuring out the route and eating noodles, I walked back two kilometers, turned right and joined Li Duan's road and continued riding.

October 3rd, Changning - Shunan Bamboo Sea (14 kilometers), where "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" was filmed. Unfortunately, it rained that morning, and the mountain was foggy, so I couldn't see the colorful waterfalls. Still, the 44 square kilometers of bamboo sea were breathtaking. I've traveled thousands of miles just to meet you.

Arrive at the Shunan Bamboo Sea West Gate Tourist Service Center and purchase tickets. The ticket price is 110 yuan per person (30 yuan per person for Yibin residents with provincial ID, free for local residents of the Bamboo Sea).

There are also many locals at the gate who rent cars to pick up passengers. Generally, it costs 40 yuan per person to share a car, and 200 yuan per car per day to rent a car.

Because we chose to walk, we declined the solicitation of fellow villagers.

I took a long-distance bus to Yibin, then took a bus to the Bamboo Sea. The bus fare was 10 yuan. I remember being completely overwhelmed upon entering the sea, a wave of excitement surging through my body. Green, green, everywhere I looked, the green of bamboo. The bus to the Bamboo Sea scenic spot cost 57 yuan for students.

As the name suggests, the Bamboo Sea is a blanket of bamboo shadows. Water washes over Yibin, and green blankets southern Sichuan. The historical story of the "Watching from the Wall" is worth savoring.
