Riyueping, which belongs to the Xiling Snow Mountain Scenic Area, is an excellent place to watch the wonders of the sea of clouds in the scenic area. When the weather conditions are excellent, you can see several beautiful snow-capped mountains in Sichuan, such as Mount Emei, Mount Gongga, and Daxuetang.
Although the fog was so thick that we couldn't see the scenery below from the mountain, it was still fun.
Two consecutive cableways took us to an altitude of 3,250 meters. Looking out from the Sun and Moon Terrace, it was very different from the snowflakes I had imagined. It was full of desolation. Maybe it was because I had just been to a high altitude area, even my wife, who was afraid of high altitude Tibet, thought it was acceptable. I was relatively calm. Don't do strenuous exercise. Now your blood is still dissolved with oxygen from the plains.
The information says that Xiling Snow Mountain is the dividing line between the western Sichuan plain and the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. When I arrived at Riyueping, I really felt like I was in another world. The plants had a sense of desolation, and there were many protruding rocks in the places exposed to the sun, but in the places away from the sun, there was white snow or ice.

Sun Moon Terrace is a high altitude viewing spot of Xiling Snow Mountain and the best place to appreciate the charm of Xiling. In spring and autumn, when it is still rainy at the foot of the mountain, it is often sunny here, and you can enjoy natural landscapes such as sea of clouds and Buddha light. It takes about 1 hour to walk from Sun Moon Terrace to Yin Yang Jie. The location of Yin Yang Jie is exactly the watershed of two completely different climates. On one side is clear sky, and on the other side is foggy. Because the western part of the mountain is the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau climate, which is cold and dry, and the eastern part is the basin climate, which is warm and humid, the two different air currents are connected on Baishagang, forming a peculiar weather. At present, the front mountain has only developed the scenic area to the location of Yin Yang Jie, and it is rarely visited by people.

It would be great if we could see the sea of clouds, but it was a pity that the fog was too heavy on the day we went there, and the top of the mountain was not bright at all, so we couldn't see the sea of clouds that was lower than us. However, the toilet on the mountain was nice and warm, haha 😂. The regret of not being able to see the sea of clouds was compensated by seeing the little squirrel, so I was still very happy!

After 40 minutes, I finally arrived at Riyueping. There were not many tourists, and the surroundings were all white and quiet. It was completely another world. Going up the stairs, the snow under my feet was already over my ankles. It was very white, clean and spotless, making me almost reluctant to step on it and destroy the masterpiece of nature. After walking for more than ten minutes, we arrived at the flat open area on the top of the mountain. There was a wooden viewing platform on both sides. When we got to the platform, the view was extremely broad. Looking around, we saw huge valleys and unknown snow-capped peaks, which stretched infinitely into the distance and disappeared into the clouds. Is that heaven? The mountains were majestic and beautiful, showing the power of nature to the world, and seemed to be guarding this sacred land all the time.
The Buddha light seen in the Yin-Yang world is fleeting. The whole valley has red leaves, very beautiful. The legendary Yin-Yang world is very dreamy.
At this time, a hotel is being built at Riyueping, along with the attached shops, tourist center and other facilities. It is a scene of bustling construction. I believe it will be open for business when I come back in the future. It seems that Riyueping will become the tourist center of the high mountain section in the future.
I took the 80 yuan cable car to Riyueping. The scenery was very nice, but I felt a little short of breath when I went up the mountain.
