Tianjin Eye

The Tianjin Eye is located on the banks of the Haihe River in Hongqiao District, Tianjin. It is a Ferris wheel that spans the river and combines a bridge and wheel, serving both sightseeing and transportation functions.
The Ferris wheel takes 28 minutes to complete a rotation. When you reach the highest point, you can see the surrounding scenery at a glance, and you can even see the scenery within a radius of 40 kilometers.
The diameter is 110 meters, and there are 48 360-degree transparent cabins mounted on the outside of the wheel. Each cabin can accommodate 8 people, and can accommodate 384 people for sightseeing at the same time.
The rotation speed is slow and not very exciting. You can see cars rushing by on both sides, which is quite interesting.

The Ferris wheel starts queuing at 19:45 and is available at 21:00

When I arrived at seven o'clock, the big screen announced that today's tickets were sold out and that you were welcome to come again tomorrow. Security guards blocked the entrances on both sides, but there were still people queuing at the ticket office. According to the people at the Lemon Workshop next door, basically another group of people would be let on at eight o'clock every day. The last group would normally get on the Ferris wheel at nine o'clock, and on holidays it might be until half past nine. It takes 28 minutes to make one revolution, and it would be ten o'clock by the time you get off.

The Ferris wheel is in constant rotation except for maintenance every Monday morning.

There are a lot of people queuing up in the evening. Personally, I prefer to queue up at 8 o'clock in the evening rather than in the afternoon.

Buy drinks at the Lemon Workshop next to the Ferris wheel

The boss said he would release another batch at 8 o'clock.

A lot of people are queuing

Good luck

It's in line

The level of crowding is comparable to the World Expo

48 private rooms, 8 people

A maximum of 384 people can sit at a time

There is still a chance at 8 o'clock normally

Finally, make sure it is fully loaded

384*3=1152

Great opportunity

Just wait patiently

Ferris wheel tickets must be purchased on site, one ticket per person

During the National Day, it is normal to queue up

I got on the Ferris wheel at around nine o'clock.

There are still people coming up at 9:30, and it ends at 10:00.

This is my favorite place in Tianjin, bar none. I have been to Tianjin twice, both times to go on the Ferris wheel. In the lower left corner of this photo, there is a couple taking wedding photos.

The Tianjin Eye, also known as the Tianjin Yongle Bridge Ferris Wheel, is a breathtaking display of ingenuity and whimsy. Standing 120 meters tall, it features 48 transparent cabins, each accommodating eight people. The staff thoughtfully arranges acquaintances into shared cabins. The Ferris wheel rotates slowly, offering a subtle yet uninspiring experience. Watching the cars whiz by is a delightful experience. As it rises, the gentle Haihe River beneath your feet, like a mirror, offers a soothing, mirror-like experience. At its highest point, the Ferris wheel reaches a height of approximately 120 meters, equivalent to the height of a 35-story building, offering panoramic views of an area within a 40-kilometer radius. It truly lives up to its name, the "Eye of Tianjin." Legend has it that every box on the Ferris wheel is filled with happiness. Snuggling with your loved one, it's impossible not to cherish the bliss and romance of the moment. Telephone: 022-26288830; 022-23343557. Transportation: Take bus No. 34, 4, 607, 611, 640, 659, 673, 802, 841, 849, 863, 869, or 878 and get off at Wumalu Station. Tickets are 70 yuan per person. Couples who want to enjoy a private cabin can purchase a couple's package for 240 yuan. Opening hours: 9:30 AM - 9:30 PM. The Ferris wheel is closed for routine maintenance every Monday morning (except holidays). One rotation takes about 30 minutes.

The Tianjin Eye is a landmark in Tianjin. The night view is stunning. Walking along the Haihe River, taking in the scenery, and taking a boat ride are all great experiences. The Tianjin Eye is quite lively at night. The lines can be a bit longer on holidays. I can't remember whether it was 70 or 80 yuan per person, but I think it was 480 yuan for a private tour. It was quite nice. The ride lasted about 20 minutes. The night view is quite nice. It's beautiful.

We rode the Ferris wheel, which is called the London Eye. The ticket price is 100 yuan. I remember that the child was 40.

We queued for a long time to ride the London Eye, which left a very deep impression on us. We ordered takeout of steamed buns and millet porridge while we were waiting in line, which solved our urgent needs. Later, we were particularly impressed when we took the porridge to the Ferris wheel and let our baby drink the porridge in the sky. We were so happy.

The lines in winter are incredibly tough. First, you have to queue outside, buy your tickets, and then queue up to get on the Ferris wheel. Each car seats eight people, and children count as one person. The cars are heated, so they're quite cozy. Tickets are 70 yuan each, with half-price for those under 1.2 meters tall, but there's no free entry. There's a commemorative photo booth at the entrance, which you can pick up at the exit for 30 yuan. Your ticket will be collected at the exit, so if you need a souvenir, you need to go to the customer service center to pick it up (I'm confused about what this means?!). Parking is on the street, and it costs 20 yuan more, plus a surcharge.

I once heard a beautiful legend that said two people in love would break up soon if they took a ride on the Tianjin Eye together. Hahaha, just a joke, but I know that the Tianjin Eye is true because someone told me the above words!

I didn't sit in this iconic building in Tianjin because I don't like staying in a closed space for a long time.

PS: The night view of Tianjin is really great!

The Tianjin Eye, a Ferris wheel spanning the Haihe River, is unique as it's the only Ferris wheel built on a bridge. At its highest point, it offers panoramic views of Tianjin, equivalent to a 35-story building. A ride costs 70 yuan per person, but if you prefer exclusive access, you can reserve a private cabin (limited to 5 people or less) for 400 yuan. A full rotation takes about 30 minutes, and the air-conditioned cabins offer a leisurely and comfortable experience of the panoramic views. It starts operating at 9:30 am every day and ends in the afternoon when the tickets are sold out. My wife and I took a taxi to the Tianjin Eye Ferris Wheel before it got dark. This attraction is the highlight of our trip to Tianjin. Maybe girls all have the dream of riding a Ferris wheel. When we got there by taxi, we were completely confused. We didn’t expect that there would be so many people queuing up to ride the Ferris wheel. At this time, a very bad thing happened. Since the number of people had reached saturation, it was unlikely that my wife and I would be able to buy tickets to go up. At this time, someone asked us if we wanted to buy extra tickets so that we could go up in advance. At this time, in order not to let my wife’s hope go to waste, I too It was simple, so the two of us paid an extra 200 yuan. I thought it was because of internal connections, but it turned out that he got acquainted with the security guard, forced his way in, and climbed over the fence in various ways. I was stunned. Looking at the foreign friends in the serpentine queue, I thought I would not talk to this low-quality person, so I told the person that I didn't want to take the ride and wanted a refund. The process was certainly not pleasant. After this incident, the beautiful scenery of the Haihe River immediately faded a lot. However, it was also because I didn't do my homework well and was naive to trust others. After getting over the annoying thing, I walked along the Haihe River with my wife, looking at the night view of Tianjin, thinking that it was not bad to waste time in such a pleasant way.

After dinner, I strolled to the Tianjin Eye. The area around it was quite lively, with food, drinks, and entertainment. It was a bit like an amusement park 20 years ago.

The Tianjin Eye Ferris wheel can be booked in advance, so I booked a time slot between 7:30 and 8:00. However, when I arrived, it was completely useless. Everyone, regardless of your appointment time or whether you bought your ticket on the spot, had to wait in the same line. We went by time slot, but we still had to wait for 2 hours. I was speechless. What's the point of having a reservation system? 2 hours is too long to wait, so I had to refund my ticket and check in for photos.

Tianjin, the closest municipality to Beijing, boasts a long history, dating back to the opening of the Grand Canal during the Sui Dynasty (581-618 AD). Named after Emperor Chengzu of the Ming Dynasty, Zhu Di, it was known as "the place where the Son of Heaven crossed the river." It's abbreviated as "Jin," and also known as Jingu and Jinmen. Walking north along the river from Ancient Culture Street, you'll spot a structure spanning the Haihe River from afar: the Tianjin Eye, a Ferris wheel that combines a bridge and a wheel. Ascending the wheel and rotating to the top, the Tianjin Eye is the only Ferris wheel in the world built on a bridge. Visitors flock to the wheel at night, with long lines forming early in the morning, and tickets are said to be sold out by 5 or 6 p.m. Many visitors wait from dusk on the riverside steps, waiting for nightfall and the lights to come on, to witness the increasingly beautiful Tianjin Eye.

The Tianjin Eye, located about 1.5 kilometers north of the Ancient Culture Street, is the world's only Ferris wheel on a bridge and is Tianjin's most well-known business card to outsiders.

The Ferris wheel takes about 28 minutes to complete a rotation. Its highest point is over 110 meters. There are 48 transparent cabins in total, each with 8 people, and it can accommodate up to 384 people for sightseeing.

It took half an hour, dear friends. It's incredibly slow and not thrilling at all. Even though it can accommodate over 300 people, the lines were so long that you'd be skeptical. If you were a little late, they wouldn't sell tickets. And the night view from the top wasn't particularly appealing.

So I really don’t recommend going up there. Of course, you might say, “Since we’re already here, we might as well have some fun.” That’s what I did. I regretted it the minute I went up there.

However, this place is still highly recommended to visit, why? Because the scenery below is so beautiful.

The Tianjin Eye, a giant Ferris wheel located on Yongle Bridge (formerly Cihai Bridge), is the only Ferris wheel in the world built on a bridge. Standing 120 meters tall and 110 meters in diameter, the wheel is equivalent to a 35-story building. Attached to the wheel are 48 transparent cabins, each approximately 12 square meters in size and accommodating eight people at a time, allowing 384 people to view the scene simultaneously. The wheel is electrically powered and completes a single rotation at a constant speed in approximately 30 minutes. At its highest point, views extend within a 40-kilometer radius. The wheel's 3.5-meter diameter shaft is manufactured in Germany. The wheel's support was manufactured by the Wuchang Shipyard.

The Tianjin Eye, officially known as the Tianjin Yongle Bridge Ferris Wheel, is located on the banks of the Haihe River in Tianjin's Hongqiao District. Built across the river, it combines a bridge and wheel, serving both sightseeing and transportation. It's the only Ferris wheel built on a bridge in the world and a landmark of Tianjin. With a diameter of 110 meters, the wheel features 48 360-degree transparent capsules, each accommodating eight people, for a total of 384 people. A full rotation takes 28 minutes, and at its apex, the Ferris wheel offers sweeping views of the surrounding scenery, even within a 40-kilometer radius. It's known as the "Eye of Tianjin."

The Tianjin Eye is my favorite Ferris wheel, but I've never ridden it, mainly because the thought of the long lines makes me avoid it. The Tianjin Eye is the only Ferris wheel in the world built on a bridge and is a landmark of Tianjin. With a diameter of 110 meters, at its highest point, it reaches a height of approximately 120 meters above the ground, equivalent to the height of a 35-story building. It offers views of an area within a radius of 40 kilometers, making it the true "Eye of Tianjin." From a height perspective alone, the Tianjin Eye surpasses the renowned London Eye to become the world's tallest. Here are some key takeaways:

1. Tickets for the Tianjin Eye are 70 yuan, with group purchases of 10 or more costing 57 yuan. Children under 1.2 meters are 30 yuan. Couples' rooms are 240 yuan with a queue, while couples' VIP rooms are 480 yuan without a queue. Five-person rooms are 400 yuan with a queue, while five-person VIP rooms are 800 yuan without a queue.

2. Normal business hours are from 9:30 am to 9:30 pm. The shop is closed from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm every Monday due to equipment maintenance.

3. First, you need to queue up outside to buy tickets, and then continue to queue up to board the Ferris wheel. During the peak season, it takes about half an hour to an hour. During holidays, the tickets will be sold out at 5 or 6 pm.

4. Each cabin can accommodate 8 people, with air conditioning and fans to adjust the temperature. It can accommodate 384 people for sightseeing at the same time. The Ferris wheel rotates once every 20 to 40 minutes.

5. The location for taking photos of the Tianjin Eye is on the King Kong Bridge on the south side of the Ferris wheel. The Haihe River, the South Canal and the North Canal merge and intersect, reflecting the beautiful Ferris wheel, which is a breathtaking sight.

I went to the Tianjin Eye last Friday. It's about a 2-hour drive from Yanjiao. We arrived at 6:00, but it was still bright. We played in the water for a while by the river below the Ferris wheel. We lined up around 7:00, and there were basically no people. They might have been waiting for it to get dark, but when I came back after buying some food, it was packed. If you don't want to wait for dark at the Ferris wheel entrance, you can just walk straight ahead to security. You don't have to wait in line because many of the people in the line ahead of you are just trying to occupy the line and don't want to go in first. The security guards will keep urging you to get in line again, but it's basically useless. You can go in around 7:30 because there is also a line inside. Remember, there is a line inside to buy tickets and to wait for the Ferris wheel. We just waited outside with our kids in our arms. It was almost hot, but it was very cool inside! Eight people formed a team and went up to a small cabin. There were three of us, a family of three, and two couples. The atmosphere was very pleasant. The air conditioning was on cold and hot, which was a bit confusing. It took about half an hour to complete the whole ride. The night view was also very beautiful. I definitely want to ride it if I have the chance. By the time we got on around 8 o'clock, the line below had already stretched far to the side of the road. It seems I should come earlier! If you have time during the day, you can buy tickets in advance and then sit in the evening. There are very few people with reserved tickets, so you don't have to wait too long. Adult tickets are 70 yuan each, and children are half price. It's reasonable to add a ticket. All in all, I finally got to ride the Ferris wheel as I wished.

I heard that this Ferris wheel has a curse, and couples who ride it will break up after getting off.

I think before couples even get on the Ferris wheel, they’re so tired from waiting in line that they want to break up.

The only Ferris wheel on a bridge in the world is very big and crowded. It took more than an hour to queue up and it only takes 35 minutes to rotate. Emmmm, if you are interested, you can find out more about it. You can queue up under the bridge to buy tickets, and then go in to queue up to get on the Ferris wheel. There are a lot of people, so you will definitely find it.

The Tianjin Eye is a symbolic structure in Tianjin. It's a Ferris wheel built on the Yongle Bridge over the Ziya River. While it's a bit less impressive than the London Eye, it's still quite spectacular from the bottom! It's even more stunning at night when lit up. Of course, there's no shortage of queues to ride the Ferris wheel (it can accommodate 384 people at a time). On our first day, we weren't aware of the situation and arrived to queue around 7:00 PM. It was already packed, and security staff advised us to skip the line and try again the next day. We learned our lesson the next day and lined up at 3:30 PM, when it wasn't crowded. We arrived at the Ferris wheel entrance around 5:30 PM. However, we wanted to see the night show, so we waited in the passage for over an hour before we could get on. By 6:00 PM, a crowd of people, eager to see the night view, had gathered at the entrance and refused to leave. It was hilarious, and the staff were incredibly anxious. We were lucky enough to arrive just as darkness was approaching, allowing us to watch the darkness unfold from above and experience the different views at different times of day. In fact, the photos taken are all similar, and it mainly depends on your eyes and heart to appreciate and feel.

A must-see when visiting Tianjin: the Ferris wheel on the bridge, a landmark building in Tianjin

By Mike Laolang |

It is said that you have to queue up to ride this Ferris wheel, but when I went there, there were no people sitting inside, let alone queuing. It may be because it was a weekday during the off-season. The river view is still good. On both sides

On a winter afternoon, the riverside is full of locals fishing and basking in the sun.

I didn't sit down, but the view from a distance with the Haihe River was pretty good.

The Tianjin Eye is one of Tianjin's modern landmarks, a Ferris wheel built on Yongle Bridge. I've been in Tianjin for over two years, but I've never been there. I only know there are always huge lines. Especially during the National Day holiday, when we arrived, the line was incredibly long. Honestly, I really enjoy looking from a high vantage point; it gives me a sense of detachment from the mundane world, hahahahaha. No, because the night view from up high is truly exhilarating. Tickets are 70 yuan, and a full circuit takes about half an hour.

There were so many people queuing that I didn't get a chance to see it. The scenery was pretty good, and it was a landmark building in Tianjin.

The Ancient Culture Street store has a better night view.

And it costs more than 100 yuan to make a circle, the price is still too expensive

Although I didn't get to ride the Ferris wheel, the night view under the Ferris wheel was also very beautiful, and it was worth the trip.
