To be honest, I really like this place. Maybe it’s because I’m a liberal arts student. For a city like Tianjin with a colonial history, I always want to dig into the historical dust and explore it.

【daytime】

During the day, the sky was hazy, and the blurred vision only heightened the sense of historical dust. The gray-walled houses had a strong Western colonial architectural style, and some of the buildings were painted a strange light yellow. I can't explain it, but it felt strange, and the mood of the city wasn't particularly cheerful.

【night】

The lights came on, and I could see the warm yellow glow of the building's exterior. It faintly illuminated the spire on the top floor. Closing my eyes, I felt as if I could see the history of the past. Lush green trees lined the sidewalk. Wow, how disappointing! At this moment, I suddenly thought of someone.

(ps The picture is from the Internet, friends who like history are recommended to check it out)

The Italian-style street is the only Asian concession culture recognized by Italy. The bricks and stones of Via Marco Polo were shipped across the ocean from Italy and then inscribed vertically. The Statue of Peace stands here to commemorate the victory in World War I. Films and television series such as "Perfect Match," "The Founding of a Republic," "Silver Empire," "The Whistleblower," "The Revolution of 1911," "Mei Lanfang," "The Golden Age," "The Great Shanghai," and "Drug War" have been filmed here. Also within the old concession are the former residences of Yuan Shikai, Feng Guozhang, and Li Shutong, as well as the Wanghailou Church. From a distance, the "Tianjin Eye," Tianjin's newest landmark, can be seen straddling both sides of the Haihe River.

The Italian Style District in Tianjin is a pedestrian street. It is actually not very big. It was formerly the only Italian concession abroad. It is also the only large-scale Italian-style building complex in Asia. It is well worth a walk and a look here.

Like many quaint tourist spots, this area is heavily commercialized, with small shops selling goods everywhere, mostly street vendors. Bars and restaurants line the streets, and the Western-style food is a bit pricey. Masks are a standout item. Postcard lovers, take note: they're available here, including 3D models from various attractions.

By Just love to play |

This area used to be part of the Italian Concession in Tianjin. Most of the buildings built by the foreign powers in China were crude and lacked the essence of their respective countries' architectural styles. Besides Liang Qichao's former residence, none of the houses here are open to the public, leaving them like empty shells. Despite the crowds, there's not much to see. It's boring. The only things worth photographing are the statues of an Italian goddess, a Flora, and Marco Polo.

By Phantom Snow |

This was originally the Italian Concession and now preserves the largest Italian-style architectural complex outside of Italy.

I don't know if it was because it was the morning of National Day and the tourists hadn't arrived yet, or because everyone had already left for Beijing, but the Italian Style area wasn't as crowded as I'd expected. Coupled with the beautiful Italian-style buildings, Yun and I both gave the Italian Style area a good rating.

The Tianjin Italian Style District is located in Tianjin's Hebei District. Enclosed by Wujing Road, Boai Road, Shengli Road, and Jianguo Road, the district boasts well-preserved European architecture spanning centuries. Located in the heart of Tianjin, the district was once China's only remaining Italian concession, leaving behind over 200 elegant Mediterranean-style buildings.

Tianjin is famous for its architectural complexes, with various styles scattered throughout the city. Italian Street is primarily surrounded by well-preserved Italian-style buildings. Personally, I find it a bit too commercial, but it's still nice to admire the architecture and is a great place for photos. When it's less crowded, it feels like a leisurely and relaxing stroll, bathed in the sun.

By Red Sleeves and Purple Moon |

We went to the Italian Style Street in the evening. It can be seen that the scene of the concession was restored, with European-style buildings, restaurants, and bars. It was quite lively at night. The Goubuli steamed bun shops here have become more fashionable and put on big red bows.

Zhongshuge is really a great place for taking photos. We came at night and it wasn't crowded, but during the day, they say the number of people is limited. Although this is a heyday of electronic products, whether it's for checking in, taking photos, or following the trend, even if it's an internet celebrity bookstore, it's still a great feeling to have so many bookstores and so many people willing to go to the bookstore to browse, sit down, and have a cup of coffee and a book!

From the Italian-style street to the Century Clock, we came to the Liberation Bridge. The girl singing by the river seemed really nice. This must be the life she likes! I don’t know when the Liberation Bridge will open. It should be closed very rarely now!

Italian Style Street, also known as the Italian Style Street, is located on the north bank of the Haihe River, not far from Tianjin Railway Station and Jiefang Bridge. Formerly the Italian Concession, this area boasts over 200 elegant Mediterranean-style buildings, some say strolling through it feels like walking through a romantic European town. It's also said to have been a filming location for films like "The Founding of a Republic" and "The Golden Age," and scenes from these series can be found here. This area is also home to a concentration of famous Tianjin residents, including the former residences of Liang Qichao, Cao Kun, the president of the Republic of China and a prominent warlord, Yuan Shikai, Feng Guozhang, and Cao Yu.

Tianjin Italian Style Street is located in the heart of Tianjin, near the Haihe River, just a few hundred meters from Jianguodao Station on Tianjin Metro Line 2. It's recommended to visit the Italian Style District in the evening or evening, as the lights at night make the entire street even more beautiful. In the summer, outdoor seating is available for dinner or drinks for a more enjoyable experience. Italian Cuisine: In the Italian Style District, you can enjoy authentic Italian cuisine such as pizza, pasta, bruschetta, and gelato. There are also numerous bars and cafes offering a variety of Italian-style drinks and snacks. Beyond the food, the area is also rich in Italian culture. Stroll among the Italian-style buildings and immerse yourself in the exotic culture. The Italian Style District often hosts various events and performances, such as concerts and dance performances. It's recommended to check ahead for event information to avoid missing out. Due to the large area of the Italian Style District, it's recommended to wear comfortable shoes and clothing for a better experience.

In addition to the Five Avenues, the Italian-style area is another gathering place for the former residences of celebrities in Tianjin. The Italian-style area is a shining pearl on the banks of the Haihe River. The Baroque sculptures and Mediterranean-style buildings make people feel like they are traveling to Italy and experiencing the feeling of "Roman Holiday".

While offering an exotic experience, the Italian-style area also provides a vivid history lesson. After the Second Opium War, Tianjin was forced to open up as a treaty port, gradually forming nine foreign concessions. In 1902, Tang Shaoyi, the Tianjin Customs Commissioner, and Gallina, the Italian Minister to China, signed the "Tianjin Concession Regulations," which demarcated the Italian Concession. The Italian-style area is located within the original Italian Concession. Marine Captain Ferrotti was appointed Italian Consul in Tianjin, responsible for the planning and development of the Italian Concession. By the 1930s, the Italian Concession had begun to take shape, forming a large architectural complex that combines both artistic and practical elements.

Many dignitaries of the Republican era chose to settle in the concessions, drawn primarily by the beautiful surroundings and rich cultural atmosphere, and also for safety reasons. Among the many former residences of celebrities in the Italian-style area, visitors can visit the residences of Yuan Shikai, Cao Yu, and Liang Qichao. Beyond these, there are also numerous valuable historical relics worth exploring, such as the Italian barracks and the Italian Consulate.

By Shepherd |

In modern history, from 1860 to 1945, foreign powers established concessions in Tianjin through unequal treaties. At its peak, nine countries established concessions, which also made the city of Tianjin culturally diverse.

The Italian-style district, centered around Piazza Marco Polo, was planned in 1902 and boasts over a century of history. It boasts over 200 authentic European-style buildings, not only in architecture but also in cuisine, with numerous Western restaurants. Strolling through this well-preserved, exotic district feels like being transported to a foreign land, experiencing the unique charm of Italy. The streetscape is dominated by Italian-style garden villas, each one unique. In addition to these Italian-style buildings, there are dozens of former residences of famous figures, including Liang Qichao, Cao Yu, and Feng Guozhang, representing a unique cultural resource within the district.

By Axun wants to see the world |

With the strongest cold snap hitting, few people were willing to visit the tourist spots. Only a few vendors, forced to keep their jobs, remained. It looked pretty much the same as I remembered it. If I couldn't deeply experience the Republican era story behind the Italian-style area, or take a girl to take beautiful photos and drink coffee, I'd just pass by a place like this.

By 💪 Max |

The Italian-style street is well worth a visit, but it felt familiar. Guangzhou's Bar Street and Foshan's Lingnan Tiandi both resemble this scene, but the buildings here are genuinely foreigners who once lived there. Over 3,000 small houses and villas are now protected. A passing tour guide said it was lively at night, but unfortunately I was alone and didn't have any drinking companions.

By Otaku Loves Traveling |

When you come to Tianjin, you must visit this street. Many people choose to take wedding photos here. Of course, we also come here to take photos. The photos turned out well and it is very convenient to navigate here.

Italian Style Street, also known as Xinyi Street, is the only large architectural complex in the world outside of Italy. Built in 1902, the area served as the Italian concession in Tianjin, China, and remains the only Italian concession in China. The area was completely renovated in 2005. It features many small Western-style buildings and former residences of celebrities from the Italian Concession period, which have been renovated into tourist and business leisure destinations. Fourteen blocks have been gradually renovated. Notable buildings on Xinyi Street include Liang Qichao's Ice Drinking Room, the former residences of Cao Kun, Feng Guozhang, Cao Yu, and Hua Shikui, the First Workers' Cultural Palace (formerly the Pingli Arena), and the Italian Barracks.

One of the entrances to the Italian style area. The place name is very Italian.

By Black plaid, white shirt |

Don't think that Italian Style Street is just a European-style street. Its predecessor was the only Italian concession outside of China. It is a tourist attraction with Italian style in Hebei District, Tianjin, and the only large-scale Italian-style building complex in Asia.

1. It is very close to Tianjin Railway Station, only a 15-minute walk away. However, the most recommended way is to take Subway Line 2 and exit at Exit B of Jianguodao Station. Buses 638, 639 West Line, 676, 832, and 905 can be taken to the Italian Style District Station.

2. This area is open to the public and is open to the public. If you are driving, please note that there are one-way streets around the Italian Style Street. Please follow the traffic signs. Shengli Road is one-way from south to north, Minzu Road is one-way from north to south, Jinbu Road is one-way from west to east, and Jianguo Road is one-way from east to west.

3. There are two parking lots around the Italian Style Street. One is the parking lot in front of the Local Taxation Bureau on Ping'an Street, and the other is the underground parking lot of the Planning Exhibition Hall, with more than 200 parking spaces.

4. The best itinerary is: Tianjin Planning Exhibition Hall → Marco Polo Square → Italian-style pedestrian street and buildings → Liang Qichao Memorial Hall → Cao Yu's Former Residence → Former Italian Barracks (exterior) → Former Italian Consulate (exterior) → Jintang Bridge → Former Austro-Hungarian Consulate (exterior) → Former Austro-Hungarian Club (exterior) → Feng Guozhang's Former Residence (exterior) → Yuan's Residence (exterior) → Li Shutong's Former Residence → Wanghailou Church (exterior);

5. There will be many people after 9 o'clock in the day. There are almost no people at night in winter. It is pitch black, so go there with caution.

By FRESHQQZERO |

It is a building left over from the Italian lease, all in Western style, very beautiful and suitable for taking pictures. It is always a good idea to go and have a look. There are many tourist attractions signs there, all very clear. There seems to be a currency museum, which you can go and have a look.

The Italian Style Street is located in Hebei District, Tianjin, the former Italian Concession. The square area enclosed by four roads in Hebei District, namely Wujing Road, Boai Road, Shengli Road and Jianguo Road, is collectively known as the Italian Style District. Currently, there are nearly 200 well-preserved European buildings.

The clusters of small, Italian-style buildings here are a stark contrast to the bank towers lining Jiefang Road, giving you the warm and relaxed feeling of being transported to the old town of Marco Polo's hometown. In fact, the circular plaza with fountains in the center of the block is named Marco Polo. The old Italian Concession also houses Liang Qichao's Ice Drinking Room, the former residences of Cao Yu and Li Shutong, and the residences of Yuan Shikai and Feng Guozhang.

By A rabbit looking around |

Good for taking photos. There are dishes from various countries, and the prices are relatively high. However, it is the only Italian concession in a foreign country.

Since you are in Tianjin, you must visit the Italian-style street. It is more lively and popular than the Five Avenues. The streets look like streets abroad with photos everywhere. You will immediately be immersed in the exotic atmosphere and have fun~

There are many beautiful buildings here, and it's a great place to take photos.

By Swirling Water |

This small area truly captures many Italian elements: the fountain, the piazza, the angels on the central pillar, the windowsills lined with flowers and plants, and so on. It feels like you've stumbled into Europe. There are also many former residences of famous figures, with a mix of Chinese and Western architecture, which are well worth a visit.

In fact, there are quite a lot of people. I feel that this attraction is well promoted, and the experience is average.

It's a must-see in Tianjin, as it's not far from the Five Avenues and other attractions. I came at night, and it was winter, so many bars were empty. The architecture is quite unique, though.

A visit to Tianjin is a must-see. Its rich Italian charm is captivating and enchanting. Strolling along the street, we felt the exquisite beauty these historic buildings bring to the city, and the legacy of history.

By Only |

The first time I went there was in September 2014. The buildings are somewhat unique, but the shops in the streets and alleys are just as cookie-cutter as many other tourist attractions. I personally think it's better to take a walk and admire the buildings when there are fewer people.

Italian Style Street is a place that every tourist who comes to Tianjin will know and visit. But to be honest, I don’t particularly recommend it. Like every characteristic street in every place, it is very commercial. Although the architecture is really European and beautiful, you have to choose the off-season when there are fewer people to take good photos. It is rare to have a good vacation here. However, many celebrity residences are nearby, which is worth a visit.

I really like the feeling here!

This is my second time here. I don’t know how many people come here for Tianjin’s architecture. The retro streets and the mottled walls of the literary shops make people forget the hustle and bustle of life and wander around without distraction.

The scenic spot is open to the public free of charge. There are two main commercial streets with some European-style open-air restaurants on both sides. The prices are not very expensive and very unique. You can rest when you are tired. There will be some resident singers singing in the evening, and there are many foreigners.

If you can wait until night time, be sure to see the lights!

The photos here are absolutely stunning! The age-worn feel of the walls and streets, along with the subtle gradations of color, makes it feel like you're in Florence! Of course, this was taken by a Tianjin photographer, whose control of color is quite professional. The yellow dress complements the overall environment perfectly!

By Lazy Fish |

As one of the few must-see attractions in Tianjin, Yifeng Street is a must-visit.

Here you can experience various Italian-style buildings and restaurants, as if you are in a foreign country.

By Yang Sansui |

Fengqing Street is very short, maybe with several sections. We only walked through one section, where there were bars and resident singers singing, similar to Taikoo Wharf in Guangzhou at night.

This was my first stop when I arrived in Tianjin, but due to my limited makeup skills, photography equipment and techniques, I was unable to take satisfactory photos, which was a pity. It's a bit commercialized, but the photos are good.

There are various Italian-style buildings that have now been transformed into unique Western restaurants. Choose one, have a drink, have a dessert, and just let your mind wander for an entire afternoon. It's a great place to spend the afternoon...

By SSHENG |

It's too commercialized. I can't tell it's a scenic spot at all. This is the most disappointing attraction in Tianjin.

By wheat |

I think the Italian-style street is quite conscientious and worth a visit. It's not big overall, but it feels like being in a small town. It's always crowded. Some restaurants have resident singers, so it's nice to take photos while walking around.

By 💎. |

On this Italian-style street, you can take a photo-taking spree. Standing anywhere creates a romantic and refreshing backdrop. During the day, you can relax at the tables and chairs scattered along the street, read a newspaper, and sip coffee. At night, you can enjoy Western-style food, beer, and the resident singers' soul-stirring songs. As the lights come on, thoughts race.

By Round Pig Pen |

Tianjin Italian Style Street is said to have nearly 200 intact and authentic European buildings with a history of over a century.

However, it feels just like any other old district.

There are some bars and western restaurants.

Going at night would be a good choice.

No tickets are required, and it's also a good place to take wedding photos.

By Crunchy |

The Italian-style area is still a consumption place after all, so if you want to sit down and have a cup of coffee and a Western meal during your trip, this is your best choice.

By Self-fool and self-entertainment |

Although the houses are nice, they have all been converted into various shops and are just empty shells.

By Popular |

After dinner, unable to resist the lingering loneliness, I left the hotel at 7:30 PM to explore the Italian-style streets. Walking west along Liberty Avenue, I arrived at Marco Polo Square in less than ten minutes. The clamor of music grew closer, and rows of illuminated European-style buildings captivated the eye. Bars abounded, with singers and bands performing outside. Similarly, many diners sat at tables outside. The clinking of glasses amidst the thrum of heavy metal music gave this Italian-style district a unique atmosphere under the night sky. This must be the busiest time of the day here.

By Groundhog |

There aren't many people, so walk slowly. I want time to stop.

By well |

During the day, when the sun is scorching and it is a weekday, there are not many people. At night, the lights should be very beautiful and there should be more people.

By Huahua |

It's just okay, it's a free attraction. It's a place you can stroll around.

By Travel with Huahua |

It's very beautiful, very suitable for taking pictures, and very suitable for the hipsters. It's also beautiful to buy a cup of coffee and sit there quietly for a whole day. There are many bars, and it should be more beautiful if you go there at night, haha.

By Heartbeats like the past |

Maybe it would be more beautiful if you go there at night. I went there alone, so it was inconvenient for me to return to my residence too late. If I went there during the day, it would feel very commercial.
