Midui Glacier is located in Midui Village, Yupu Township, about 100km east of Bomi County, Nyingchi Prefecture, Tibet. It is the most important marine glacier in Tibet and the lowest glacier in the world. It was rated as one of the six most beautiful glaciers in China by China National Geographic. The main peak of Midui Glacier is about 6,800m above sea level, the snow line is only about 4,600m above sea level, and the end is about 2,400m above sea level. The lower part of the glacier passes through a mixed coniferous and broad-leaved forest belt. The mountains on both sides are majestic and steep, and the snow-capped mountains and clouds are intertwined, like a dream, which makes people amazed. Climbing an iceberg requires certain physical strength, so you need to bring food, water and other supplies, and keep warm.

The car was parked at the intersection of the glacier. You need to walk in to go deeper. You need to climb a hillside to enter the Midui Glacier. Because of the high altitude, climbing is more difficult for people with altitude sickness, so some people choose to ride horses to enter the glacier to save energy. The five of us chose to walk into the glacier. The verdant terraces, tall trees, clear streams, and Tibetan courtyards, surrounded by white snow-capped mountains, are like a picture of a paradise on earth! Crossing a stream, walking through a small forest, and climbing a small hill, the road is a dirt road. When going down, a cloud of dust is raised. When we get to the bottom, we reach the Midui Glacier. We hiked for about 40 minutes in total. My friend was very tired when he climbed over this small hill.
The ticket was fifty yuan, and this was the only place on the Sichuan-Tibet line where I had to pay for the ticket. In fact, the scenery along the entire 318 route was unbeatable, and the scenery in many places was much better than that of the Midui Glacier. So when we arrived at the foot of the glacier, we were quite disappointed.
It takes about 7 kilometers to reach the parking lot from the entrance of the scenic area. If you want to observe the Midui Glacier up close, you have to walk nearly 2 kilometers from here. Although it is not far, it is still quite strenuous on the plateau. It took 40 minutes to walk to the viewing platform of the glacier. When you get to the viewing platform, you will find that you are still far away from the glacier.
The best place to view the glacier is the viewing platform at the deepest part of the scenic area. Generally, it takes one hour for tourists to walk from the parking lot to the viewing platform.
There is a towering twining tree in the scenic area, which is the one that says "I wish to be a pair of wings in the sky and a twining tree on the ground." The scenic area staff excitedly told us that Fan Bingbing and Li Chen once took a photo under this tree.
When you see the wishing pile, it means you are almost at the observation deck.
As one of the six most beautiful glaciers in China selected by National Geographic Magazine, Midui is definitely outstanding in beauty, with a noble temperament that can only be admired from afar and not touched.
If you want to see the glacier up close, you need to hike or ride a bike. Four people rode leisurely through the primeval forest and climbed over a small hill. They could see the Midui Glacier shining under the blue sky. It was as clean as jade and magnificent. Looking at the Midui Glacier in front of me, I felt very small at the moment; such pure blue, such refreshing white, beautiful, in silence. After watching the Midui Glacier, I walked and saw a pile of boulders scattered in the river. It reminded me of the Shihe Park I passed on the way to Daocheng. It was also like this, exuding an ancient atmosphere. Under the sunlight, the water with a blue or green color flowed slowly, which was very gentle; I don’t know how many years it will take for the gentle water to round the edges of these boulders.
Midui Glacier is located in Mimei and Midui villages in Yupu Township, Bomi County, more than 90 kilometers away from Zamu Town, the county seat. The main peak of Midui Glacier is 6,800 meters above sea level, the snow line is only 4,600 meters above sea level, and the end is only 2,400 meters above sea level. The lower section of the glacier has passed through the coniferous and broad-leaved mixed forest belt, and it is one of the most important marine glaciers in Tibet. The glacier is shining with snow all year round, and the scenery is magical. It is one of the six most beautiful glaciers in China. Walking at high altitudes is indeed strenuous. It takes more than an hour to walk from Midui Village through dense woods to the observation deck. In front of the observation deck is a lake flowing from melted snow mountains. The glacier is surrounded by mountains. Like the high-altitude snow mountains in Tibet, the clouds are misty and flickering. The glacier is shining silver, and the entire scenic area is unusually beautiful. Tickets are 50 yuan/person
Love it! Although the Midui Glacier may not be the most beautiful glacier as advertised, because I think Tibet is beautiful everywhere, but it is still very beautiful, and I also prefer this way of visiting the park by myself, I like the rich ecology there.
When you enter the door, many people ask if they want to ride horses. There are also many horses, so it is a bit smelly, but there is no smell once you walk in.
There is a small stone road inside, and you will hardly get lost if you follow it. There is also a map of the scenic area. There are many sea buckthorn trees inside, and some yaks and horses scattered on the grass. Sometimes you can hear bells ringing in the bushes by the roadside, and you know that yaks are eating grass and leaves inside. When you turn to the other side, you can see a cow's butt next to the bushes.
After walking up and down a gentle slope, we started climbing the stone steps. Those with severe altitude sickness may need to climb slowly. The journey is not very far, but it is quite tiring. There are many Mani piles on the side of the road, so be careful not to kick them over.
There are two or three public toilets inside, but they are not very clean and can barely be used.
The snow shines all year round and the scenery is magical and charming. Before we went, the weather was bad and the clouds and mist were lingering. I was still worried whether I could see the real snow mountain. When we arrived, the clouds and mist actually dispersed. There is still a long way to go from the scenic area to the viewing point of Midui Glacier. Because several of us have not adapted to the altitude sickness, we chose to go in on horseback. It costs 100 yuan per person to go back and forth. After riding the horse, I began to regret it because the scenery on the road was so beautiful, but riding on the horse was very bumpy. It was difficult to take a photo, and I couldn’t stop. So it is recommended that people who come to Midui Glacier to play, if they are still physically fit, walk there. The bottom of the glacier is a blue ocean-type glacier, and some parts have broken open.
The road to the scenic area here is still quite dirty. The round trip fee for horseback riding is 200 yuan. In fact, it takes only two hours to hike back and forth. The distance is not particularly far. The sound of flowing water by the river, the birds in the forest, and the jingle of horses all sound like a pleasant ditty. It is said that the Midui Glacier is the most beautiful in winter. Although it is not sunny, I can feel the fierce sunlight standing at the foot of the glacier. I keep taking off my coat. Maybe this is the uniqueness of the Midui Glacier. Although my photography skills are rubbish, the scenery is still beautiful no matter how I take it. If it is a sunny day, the effect will definitely be very good.

Not far from Ranwu Lake, there is the most beautiful glacier in China, Midui Glacier, which was selected by the National Geographic China Beauty Pageant. If lakes and rivers are flowing water, glaciers are still water. This place looks like a large farm, where locals herd cattle and sell barbecue. The glacier is just a secret place extending all the way inside. The altitude here is low, and it is quite hot when you walk in. It also needs sunny days to look good inside. The big viewing platform is far away from the glacier. Even if you climb over the railing to the lake below, it is useless. So here is just like looking at a snowy mountain. The top of the mountain is still full of clouds, so the scenery feels average.
Midui Glacier is the worst attraction on our trip as it is too ordinary.
For the 80 yuan entrance fee and bus ticket, it was not worth it. Maybe it was because we saw too many beautiful scenery along the way.
We visited and checked in on July 23, 2020. The ticket fee and the tour bus fee were a total of 86 yuan. There is a small town with houses on the top, and then we walk about 3 kilometers to reach a position 1,000 meters away from the glacier. It was my first time to visit the glacier. I walked through Seda last year. I felt that there was more snow on the snow-capped mountains last year. It was so beautiful to see so much snow this year. There are mountains and forests below, and a small lake above. Looking up, there are glaciers and snow that never melt all year round. It is magnificent, and sometimes there is smoke and fairyland. The places where you pay are the best viewing spots. It is really beautiful and worth checking in. It is magical to have such a beautiful scenery in this hot summer.
Midui Glacier is the earliest commercially operated glacier in Tibet because it is located on the side of National Highway 318 and has convenient transportation. It is the first choice for first-time group tours to Tibet. Due to improved transportation, many glaciers that were previously difficult to reach are now easily accessible to ordinary free-travel tourists, and the viewing and playability are much better than Midui.
In 2013, you had to walk to see the Midui Glacier, and this is the route.
If you are willing to hike, there is a straight trail. It takes about 30 minutes to reach the farthest viewing platform. If you don't want to hike, you can ride a horse. However, if you ride a horse, the price and tour time must be negotiated in advance, and the negotiation process must be recorded. You must return to the starting point to pay the horse. Otherwise, the Tibetans who lead the horses will yell at you after you arrive at the place and give you two choices: one is to stay for only 5 minutes, and the other is to walk back after paying. But if you can show the video, although they will still curse or mutter, they will generally wait for you as agreed, and generally will not raise the price randomly.
Midui Glacier is located in Bomi County, Nyingchi Prefecture, in the upper reaches of the Midui River, at the junction of the Nyainqentanglha Mountains and the Boshula Mountains. The main peak of the Midui Glacier is 6,800 meters above sea level, the snow line is only 4,600 meters above sea level, and the end is 2,400 meters above sea level. The lower part of the glacier has passed through the coniferous and broad-leaved mixed forest belt. It is about 100 kilometers east of Bomi County. Midui Glacier is a scenic spot integrating glaciers, farmlands, villages, lakes, forests, etc. It is one of the regular attractions for traveling to Nyingchi and has a relatively mature scenic route. Midui Glacier is the lowest glacier in the world (the lowest point of the glacier is only about 2,400 meters), and it is also one of the three major marine glaciers in China. It was selected as one of the six most beautiful glaciers in China by the "National Geographic China" magazine.
Midui Glacier is the lowest glacier in my country. You can ride a horse to climb the coniferous forest to the glacier viewing platform. The camera can capture the snow-capped glacier not far away, which is compatible with the white clouds. Nearby are the tranquil lakes and lush coniferous forests, and next to them are the quaint Tibetan villages. In Tibet, there are glaciers under the blue sky with sunlight, and you can see the blue lakes, green grasslands and lush forests, and feel the magnificence of nature and the piety of humanities. To see the Midui Glacier, you can choose to hike into the mountains or ride a horse. The chartered driver said that it takes three or four hours to hike back and forth (including staying at the scenic spot). We chose to ride into the valley to see the ice tongue for 200 yuan a round trip, about two hours (including staying at the scenic spot). After seeing the comments, I felt that I was cheated by the chartered driver.
There is a parking lot in Midui Village, which is worth a visit. I like the magnificent glacier scenery. The glacier is shining with snow all year round, and the scenery is magical and charming. This is a typical modern monsoon warm glacier
The only way to get to the innermost part is to go to the viewing platform, which is very far from the glacier. It is no different from looking at the snow-capped mountains from a distance. It is not worth spending money to enter the scenic area.
The glacier is very small and you can't go down, you can only watch it from the observation deck, but I recommend riding it. The snow-capped mountains and jungles along the way are beautiful.
Now I need the entrance fee and bus ticket, which is 86 yuan in total. The glacier is a bit muddy in summer!
It's a very good scenic spot with beautiful scenery, but the road to the scenic spot is a bit long and uphill, which consumes a lot of physical energy.
There is no scenery to speak of on the Midui Glacier in winter, but it is quiet.
If you go with a tour group, you can only look at the glacier from a distance on the viewing platform. The whole glacier is very beautiful. It is recommended to ride a horse up and down the mountain, which feels very good.
The Midui Glacier was rated as one of the "Six Most Beautiful Glaciers in China" by National Geographic China. It is one of the most important marine glaciers in Tibet. It is covered with sparkling snow all year round and the scenery is magical and charming.
The wonder of icefall can only appear on glaciers with abundant replenishment and fast melting. If the melting is fast and the replenishment is insufficient, the icefall will be interrupted and a "hanging glacier" will be formed; if the replenishment is too fast and the melting is not fast enough, the ice and snow will bury the cliff. Midui Glacier is a spiritual glacier with a "balanced" replenishment and melting.
There is an ice lake on the glacier. At the other end of the ice lake, there is a broken ice tongue that is nearly two meters wide and more than ten meters high, emitting a faint blue light. The ice waterfall falling from the sky shines silver in the sun. The nearly 800-meter drop makes people feel dizzy.
In winter, there are fewer people and the ice lake is very quiet. It takes about 30 minutes to walk up.
Late autumn is the best time to view the Midui Glacier, with the forest in all its colors, alternating between cold and warm, creating a unique charm.
Midui Glacier is the lowest glacier in my country. Due to its low altitude, the glacier belt has formed a relatively rich mixed landscape. The upper part of the glacier is covered with snow, the middle part is barren, and the lower part is a mixed forest of coniferous and broad-leaved trees, which is lush and green all year round. It is really like a silver scarf on the head and a green skirt on the bottom.
This is a glacier with beautiful scenery. The altitude is not high, so it is not tiring to visit. Going deep into the mountains and forests and then reaching the glacier is like moving into a glacier in the south of the Yangtze River.
~The ticket price is 50 yuan per person. You can buy the ticket at the gate and drive in to the parking spot. The villagers of Midui Village charge 5 yuan for parking. After parking, it takes more than half an hour to reach the glacier viewing platform. There are two ways to get to the foot of the glacier, riding a horse and walking. There are two ways to walk, the horse trail and the pedestrian trail. It is recommended to take the horse trail, which is closer. Although there is horse manure on the road, it is dry when the weather is good and your feet will not get dirty.
I forgot whether the horseback riding cost 100 or 150. If you want to save money, I personally do not recommend horseback riding. There was no timer when we entered, and it took us just over half an hour to walk out. We were also free to stay by the stream. In short, it took about 2 hours to walk around the Midui Glacier Scenic Area.
Buy tickets at the gate, and drive in for another 7 kilometers. The road is very narrow and can only be used by bicycles, but the scenery is spectacular, approaching the snow-capped mountains. There were many cars parked on the roadside before the parking lot of the scenic spot. I waited for a while and drove directly to the parking lot of the scenic spot. From the parking lot to the viewing platform, you can ride a horse or walk, and the two routes are not together. Go through the village, through the woods, and walk 2 kilometers to reach the viewing point.
After seeing the Midui Glacier, I was really glad for my decision today. The Midui Glacier was exactly what I imagined a glacier to look like, with icefalls connected to snow-capped mountains and an ice lake right in front of us. We could go down to the lake, and there were a few small pieces of ice in the lake, which had a great reflection effect.
The online guide says that there is nothing to see in Midui and that it has become commercialized. I don't agree with that. My personal experience is that Laigu and Midui are two completely different glaciers. In terms of landscape beauty, Midui is better. Of course, it is inevitable that there are many people in Midui. Apart from the beauty, it is mainly convenient to enter, close to 318, and the road is also very good.
The ice and snow that have not melted for millions of years have rich and powerful vitality. They cut the peaks into sharp corners and dig the canyons wide and flat. The pure white ice surface is faintly glowing with blue light, which is more magical than any ice and snow world in fairy tales. Watching the Midui Glacier up close, it glows with blue light. It is exciting to be a visitor at the foot of the glacier. The best viewing point of the glacier is to hike or ride a horse, which is about several kilometers.
After entering, you need to ride a horse to reach the glacier viewing point, which costs 100 per person. You can also choose to walk, but it is said that there are slopes and it is a high altitude area, so after the bargaining failed, I chose to ride a horse. Just like the Basongcuo Scenic Area we visited before, it is now planned as a scenic spot with admission fees. You have to take additional paid transportation to reach the center of the scenic area. Although I haven't been to many places, in fact, domestic scenic spot tickets are relatively high in the world. This is also a deformed development of the domestic tourism industry, which makes profits by relying on high-priced tickets and transportation methods, and on the other hand, does not pay much attention to the protection of scenic spots.
The glacier cannot be touched up close. The sunlight shining on the glacier is crystal clear and a little dazzling.
It is a glacier with a relatively low altitude. It is very tiring to go up, but the scenery is great!
The glacier seems quite beautiful when viewed from afar across the forest, especially the various vegetation on the mountains on both sides present different colors and layers. To be honest, it feels pretty good.
But when I approached the glacier, the first thing that caught my eye was a mud pit... You're so ugly~
After entering the gate, go up the brand new stone road on the left, and go down the dirt horse trail when going down the mountain. It takes about 1 hour one way, and the time for going down the mountain is shorter. Unfortunately, the sky is not good. In addition to seeing the glacier, you can't see the snow mountain at all. This glacier has an observation deck, and the real glacier is still some distance away. I read in the guide that you can go down to the glacier along the left bank of the lake. The way down the mountain is the dirt road for horses. Because the ground is dry, it is still very easy to walk downhill. To be honest, although there are glaciers and snow mountains, and even sporadic snowflakes, it is not cold on the spot. After leaving Midui, it won't take long to reach Ranwu Lake. If you really go to Ranwu Lake, many people recommend going to Laigu Glacier, which seems to be very good.
There is no road after reaching the viewing platform, and the glacier is still far away. After looking at the guide map, it is possible to reach the glacier by walking along the Midui River.
To see the Midui Glacier, you must first reach the Midui Village at the foot of the glacier.
The road ahead is a bit narrow, so you need to give way to cars in both directions.
There is a section that is OK, at least there are yellow lines to separate the lanes, and the road is well maintained.
You can walk from Midui Village to the observation deck, but the distance is long, about 2.5 kilometers, and it takes about 45 minutes.
You can also ride a horse, which costs about 100 yuan round trip (I later heard that the time spent at the scenic spot was too short, only 15 minutes, and the Tibetans would rush you)
The scenery is pretty good. But in Tibet, due to the high altitude, it is always a bit difficult to see
Although I didn't have altitude sickness at this time, I was not as strong as I was in Shanghai, which is at zero altitude.
This 2-kilometer uphill road has stairs going up from time to time.
I was out of breath and could hardly walk. I could only walk and rest.
You can get close to the ice, so it's not bad. If you want to walk on the glacier and touch the ice
You have to stay overnight and leave early. It looks very close, but it takes a long time to walk. It usually takes five or six hours to go back and forth.
Midui Glacier is located in Linzhi City on National Highway 318. It is a must-go place for National Highway 318 to enter Tibet. Less than 10 kilometers away from the entrance of the scenic area, you will see a Tibetan village. What comes into view is a white mountain peak. The huge glacier covers the towering snow-capped mountains. The sky is blue and bright, and the glacier is crystal clear under the sun. The village is surrounded by virgin forests. There are old and young trees. The ancient trees contain the wounds of annual rings. It takes several people to hug them to feel their thickness. If you want to see the glacier up close, you can ride a horse or walk up. Due to altitude sickness, we did not go there. At the foot of the mountain is a Tibetan pasture, where several horses are leisurely eating grass. The nearby mountains are exposed to their dark red nature, standing quietly there, without any decoration. The whole environment is harmonious and natural. When you come here, you feel that people are like the horses eating grass, and need to live a leisurely life.
BlueMe More Cool
When writing this paragraph, I was looking through other people's photos on China-TravelNote, and suddenly I felt how lucky I was three years ago, because I may have encountered the most beautiful Midui Glacier. In addition to the blue sky, the ice lake at the foot of the glacier is also blue, and the real glacier should be blue. On the left side of the camera, the energetic brother who was leading the horse was holding an iron bar to do pull-ups at an altitude of 4,000 meters; in the middle of the camera, the listless brother who got off the horse was holding a wooden fence and raising his hands in surrender 4,000 kilometers away from home. It is not my home court, which reminds me of the distance, and the appearance of the Erhai Lake facing the sea in spring. The shocking light blue, from the glacier to the ice lake, from the ice lake to my ice heart, is like a blue Me More Cool, instantly warming my legs frozen by the cold wind.
beautiful.
You have to walk 2 kilometers to see the glacier. After half an hour's trek, we finally saw the mysterious and beautiful Midui Glacier.
I thought that because the planned itinerary the day before was not completed, the original plan to visit the Midui Glacier was abandoned. I felt a little regretful. As I walked, I found that the entrance to the Midui Glacier Scenic Area was on 318! Park and buy tickets! After buying the ticket, you can drive your own car in. There is a parking lot in the scenic area. An old Tibetan man charges 5 yuan for parking. I guess it should be a random charge because there are many cars parked on the roadside. However, it’s only 5 yuan, and the old man is also very old, so forget it... Entering the scenic area, there will be many people pulling horses and shouting to ride horses at the entrance, saying that it will take two hours to walk or something. I just pretended not to hear it and turned left to walk through a small village. It was also fun. After passing through the village and entering the official walking trail, I looked up and saw the snow-capped mountains and glaciers after a few steps. It was pretty good! On the way to the viewing platform, there were Mani piles everywhere on the roadside. There was a place where many, many, and especially cute Mani piles were concentrated. It took about 20 minutes of walking to the viewing platform, and then I climbed the stairs for about ten minutes! There was a rest pavilion after climbing a few steps. I saw a family coming down from above and asked: "Is it far?" The young man was stunned for a moment and said: "We are almost there, come on!" It is very beautiful up there! Kind young man, praise! In fact, the rest pavilion is only about 1/4 of the entire stairway. Later, when we were going down the mountain, we met several people who asked: "Is it far up there?" I also encouraged them loudly. Fortunately, it is not far! Come on! The view from above is really worth the effort! To take good pictures of the observation deck, you have to go down a little below the observation deck. The Midui Glacier is very good! Recommended!
The round trip hike to Midui Glacier takes 2 hours, but you can get closer and see the panda face formed by the glacier and rocks. The process of going from far to near is much better than standing at the foot of the observation deck. The plank road and the colorful mountains and forests along the way are like colorful oil paintings, and you can hear the mountain wind blowing the leaves of the forest, and the sound is like waves.
I was a little disappointed after seeing it. It was quite different from what I imagined.
Tickets: 50 yuan/person, average value for money, but you won't regret it if you go; you can ride a donkey at the foot of the mountain, but it's really unnecessary. The difficulty level is even lower than Aden's little finger, and the value for money can't be compared! But of course it can't be compared to Aden, the ticket prices are different! Hahahaha!
If you have a teacher's card, you can get half price. After entering, walk for an hour along the stone steps, and you can see golden poplar trees on both sides. The glacier inside is not a big surprise, because I have seen a lot of snow-capped mountains before, and they can beat the snow-capped mountains here.
After we entered the scenic area, we found that we could only watch from a distance on the viewing platform and could not get close. I guess the pictures I saw were taken by others many years ago when the scenic area was not managed in a standardized manner.
The entrance to the scenic area looks very small, with just an archway and a small parking lot in front.
As soon as we passed the archway, a few staff members with their work badges on were sitting on rocks and chatting. They asked us for tickets and checked them.
After they reminded us, we realized that we had to go into a small house marked as the visitor center to buy tickets for admission.
There is also an option to ride a horse in. The villagers are very enthusiastic to welcome tourists to ride horses. I also want to ride, but I asked the price. It costs 100 yuan per person for a round trip. I don’t bargain and think it’s not far. 100 yuan is a bit expensive.
Fortunately, there are not many parts to climb, and many of them are flat roads. It's just that I was a little out of breath climbing at an altitude of 4000+. When I got there, it was really beautiful. There was a whole group of snow-capped mountains, the air was fresh, the sky was blue and the clouds were white. The peaks of the snow-capped mountains were still looming in the clouds... Look carefully, you can see the blue glacier crystals! The snow-capped mountains and glaciers so close are right in front of me. I really don't know how to describe it except beauty‼ ️
Come to the entrance of the scenic spot to buy tickets, and then drive to the parking lot at the foot of the mountain. From the parking lot to the viewing platform, you can either walk (about an hour) or ride a horse (half an hour), and the horseback ride costs 100 yuan. The plank road is well built, and you don't feel tired even if you walk along the road. The higher you go, the more you feel the coldness of the glacier. Even under the scorching sun, it is still chilly. The deeper you go, the more green you see, as if you have walked into the depths of the green forest. The cool breeze blows on your face, and also brings white flocs flying all over the sky, like snowflakes fluttering and flying, beautiful as a dream. I was very happy and thought: Is this a kingdom of elves? The plank road is full of Mani piles built by people, which has become a unique landscape. If you want to get close to the Midui Glacier, you have to walk into a forest and cross three terminal moraines left by the movement of glaciers. The snow-capped mountains and clouds are intertwined, like a dream, which makes people amazed. But for some reason, I always feel that the faint blue light looks like a mermaid resting on a rock. The different views from far and near, high and low are so fascinating, especially the icefall from the sky, which shines silver in the sun, but it can only be viewed from a distance and not played with. The most beautiful glacier, it really does not deceive me! Glaciers, lakes, farmlands, villages, forests, etc. are integrated together, which is really a model of harmony between man and nature.
I don't recommend you to go there, it's a bit of a rip-off, 50 for the ticket and 100 for a round trip by horseback riding, the price is fair, but the guy leading the horse was a bit too much, one moment he asked for a cigarette, the next he asked for a tip, and then he asked for sunglasses.
The ticket price for Midui Glacier is 50 per person, which is not bad.
The glacier is visible from a distance, very close
It is 1.5 km from the parking lot to the glacier viewing platform
It is not recommended to walk in, the altitude is too high
There is also a high hill.
So it's 100 yuan to ride a horse, the experience is good
There is a horse trainer with 2 horses.
100 is not expensive at all, it's a good price
The Midui Glacier is quite stunning. It is the lowest glacier.
The main peak is 6200 meters high, and the glacier tongue is only 4700 meters high, very close
We were really lucky. It was still drizzling when we first arrived at the scenic spot, but when we climbed up to the observation deck, the Midui Glacier lifted its mysterious veil, and all the peaks of the glacier appeared before our eyes, especially dazzling against the backdrop of blue sky and white clouds. The glacier was white and majestic. We were surprised to see that the highest snow peak was shaped like a grain of rice, which coincided with the name of the glacier. It was really a miracle. The majestic glacier, colorful forests, and warm countryside formed a beautiful picture scroll, like a paradise on earth.
Last time I passed by, I just passed by and didn't go in. This time I went in and was really disappointed... I didn't touch the glacier at all, it was like a park~
It takes less than an hour to reach the gate of Midui Glacier after leaving Ranwu Lake. Please note that it is only the gate. After leaving 318 and driving for more than half an hour on the bad road, you will reach the parking lot. Midui Glacier is clearly visible. It is said that this is the lowest glacier in the Tibet section. You can choose two ways to reach the foot of the glacier after getting off the car, one is walking and the other is riding a horse. Considering that we have to climb a small hill, we decisively chose the latter. There are not many horses. If we come late, we have to wait in line. Fortunately, we live nearby and arrive early, so we are led by the horseman to Midui. After really passing through the colorful forest and reaching the limit that tourists can reach, we are a little disappointed. There is a lake out of thin air, which visually separates the glacier further. Although the road is difficult to walk, Midui is still highly recommended. After all, it is one of the six most beautiful glaciers in China selected by National Geographic. It’s a pity that I didn’t go there in ancient times and couldn’t make a comparison. But in any case, this is our first close contact with this monsoon marine glacier.
Thousands of years of ice, standing proudly! Majestic from a distance, stunning from up close! The glacier can flow down the valley, but the flow speed is very slow. The front ice tongue can reach the foothills above zero degrees when the temperature is high in summer. From a distance, the glacier is filled with mist, rising up, forming a magical view!
The snow line is very low. When you go up to the viewing platform to see the Midui Glacier up close, the glacier becomes smaller and the white clouds become thicker! You don't walk up to see the glacier, but ride a horse back and forth. There are no tourists in the morning, and the Tibetans charge 100 yuan per person for horseback riding.
It is about 7 kilometers from the ticket office to the scenic area, with colorful forests on both sides! It takes about 20 minutes to ride a horse up the mountain from the foot of the mountain, and the round trip fee is 100 yuan. There are plenty of horses here, so there is no need to worry about queuing. The horse trail and the human trail are divided into two routes. The glacier is still worth seeing, but for people like me who are not literary, I can only think of ice cream when I see the glacier.
I saw the glaciers and icy lakes, and the changes in light and shadow from misty rain to bright sunshine. I was lucky enough to capture the unique scene of the glacier in ink and color!
The scenic spot requires a ticket, and it takes an hour's walk from the village. I thought I could get close to and touch the glacier, but when I reached the end, I could only look at it from a distance. Now with global warming, the area of the glacier has been shrinking.
From a distance, the icebergs are really beautiful, bright and dazzlingly white. You can ride a horse or walk to the glacier. I chose to walk, but only walked to the ancient tree area. My brother didn't want to walk anymore. It was a big pity that I didn't see more things.
The entrance fee of 50 yuan must be paid in cash, so we dug out all the cash we had left and gathered them together. The road in the scenic area is just wide enough for cars, and some spots are only wide enough for one car to pass, so you must be polite and give way. Just because there was a scratch accident ahead, we waited on this road for half an hour, and when it rained, it was sunny and rained again...
The car can only be parked in a parking lot after entering. It is still a long way from the Midui Glacier. You have to walk there. I don’t plan to go there again. In fact, it started to rain heavily before I got out of the car in the parking lot. The significance of this scenic spot is nothing more than getting closer to the glacier. Maybe it’s because the 10km road was built that the toll is charged...
The lower end of the glacier is a mixed coniferous and broad-leaved forest, where the snow never melts and the lush forest is evergreen all year round, creating a magnificent landscape. Here, glaciers, lakes, farmlands, villages, forests, etc. blend together to form a natural and harmonious picture!
After getting off the bus, we still had to walk a distance. After walking about 100 meters uphill, my heartbeat obviously accelerated and I was a little out of breath. I decisively turned back and chose to ride a horse up the mountain. Although it was raining and the top of the glacier was blocked by clouds and fog, and the lake was the color of mud, riding a horse was still very exciting.
You can choose to walk to the Midui Glacier or ride a horse. We chose to ride a horse to save time and the round trip took an hour.
It's worth going, but it's a pity that you can't climb it. It's a pity for hiking enthusiasts.
If you plan to go to Midui Glacier, this review may help you avoid being deceived and spending less money!
Text: All the jewelry stores on Mi Dui are fake, but the store owner will honestly tell you that this is fake, and the real one is over there. Don't believe it at this time. There is one store whose owner is Tibetan. This person is more deceiving than ordinary people. He will have "tourists" cooperate with him to deceive you. The routine is like this. When you pass by, there will happen to be a "tourist" who says that the things here are real, and buy a string to take home. At this time, he says that there will be only one real thing left, and then when you ask the price, the boss will first use the true and false routine to deceive you, and after gaining your trust, another "tourist" will come to ask the boss if there is any more goods. Since there is "only" one left, this will force you to buy it without time to think. The writing is not good, but I hope that more people will not be deceived. The merchants here are really too deceiving. Attached is the photo of the boss and the 68 Taobao goods I bought for 400!
I thought it was something I could touch like the Bayi Glacier, but it turned out there was only a viewing platform and I could only watch from afar. I was a little disappointed.
But the park is very beautiful when you go back and forth to the glacier. As autumn deepens, warm colors are everywhere.
After arriving at the entrance of the scenic area, you need to hike up a short section of the mountain. With the shadow of the mountain climbing in Daocheng Yading, I was actually a little reluctant, but after really entering the scenic area, I found that the plank road was well built and I didn’t feel tired even if I walked along the road. In fact, your viewing point is quite far away from the glacier. We look at it, and it also looks at us.
The Midui Glacier has melted a lot. In the past, the glacier and the lake were connected, but now it has retreated to the middle of the mountain.
The viewing platform is about a thousand meters away from the glacier. The glacier is really beautiful. Can it be regarded as the most beautiful glacier? I have never seen any other glacier except the one in Hailuogou. Anyway, it is much more beautiful than Hailuogou.
You can only see the Midui Glacier by riding a horse, and the ticket price is 100 yuan.
The viewing platform is 7-8 kilometers away from the glacier. This is the farthest glacier I have ever seen. You can only watch from a distance and not play with it. If you really want to go to a glacier, you should go to Karola Glacier, which is only 200-300 meters away from the road and you can get on the ice and snow. Or go to 40 Glacier, which is beautiful beyond words. If you don't go to Midui Glacier, Laigu Glacier near it is better than this one.
You can ride horses to the bottom of the lake and overlook the Midui Glacier, which is very beautiful. There is a small section of the Midui Glacier that is very muddy. The three of us rode for about 20 minutes and could not touch the lake water. We could only take pictures at the viewing platform.
I thought it wouldn’t be too far to see the glacier after taking the scenic area bus. I heard from friends who had been there that the road was easy to walk on. However, I ended up walking for a long time and climbing many steps on a plateau at an altitude of 4,000 meters. When I felt very tired and wanted to turn back, it was too late. I had already walked most of the way, so I had to grit my teeth and persevere, and I finally persevered.
The Midui Glacier is the least impressive glacier I have ever seen, maybe it’s the wrong season.
There is a tourist center and an inn restaurant at the intersection of National Highway 318. There is no shuttle bus from the tourist center to the glacier, so it is mainly by self-driving or chartering. If the weather is good, you can see the glacier on the way to the glacier from the intersection. The parking lot is not very large, and can park about 50 cars. From the parking lot, you can either walk to the observation deck or ride a horse, which costs 100 yuan and is about a little more than 1 kilometer. The glacier is very spectacular, but you can't see the golden mountain in the evening at the end of March.
It hangs between the snow-capped peaks and the forest, pure and magnificent. I walked into the lush primeval forest, crossed three terminal moraines left by the movement of glaciers, and the ice lake appeared in front of me. At the other end of the ice lake, an ice waterfall from the sky shone silver in the sun. A gust of wind blew from the glacier, and although the sun was shining, it was still a bit chilly.
It takes several miles to climb to the Midui Glacier. We thought it would be very tiring to climb up there because it is at an altitude of 3800m. But a few goddesses (sick men) went up there while singing and carrying flags. To be honest, this glacier is not very amazing. I still recommend the 40 glacier.
We arrived at the Midui Glacier at about 10 am. As soon as we got off the car, a gust of cold wind blew in. It was the coldest I've ever felt! After buying the ticket, we took a very long (really long, not the kind that you can just bear with it, it's really very long) sightseeing bus to get in. Because it was a fully ventilated battery bus, plus the chill brought by the glacier, it was really very, very cold! ! ! !
Friendly reminder: Please wear your thickest clothes when you go to Midui Glacier, and wear as thick a hat, scarf, gloves, sunglasses and mask as possible to cover yourself from all directions.
You can choose to walk or ride a horse from the drop-off point to the glacier viewing point. The horseback riding fee is 100 yuan per person for a round trip.
Although I was very reluctant to ride a horse, because Brother Biao was very interested in riding a horse and had not found an opportunity, we chose to ride a horse. My friends chose to walk. The ticket seller said that riding a horse was a shortcut, and it turned out that walking was not much slower.
The whole journey was bumpy and bumpy, and I felt like my butt was going to burst. Choose carefully
Honestly, I was disappointed with this most beautiful glacier in China. I couldn't touch it up close, and it didn't look special. It was just like that. Plus, the experience was too bad.
