It is the highest mountain in Nyingchi Prefecture and the 15th highest peak in the world. It was rated as “China’s Most Beautiful Snow Mountain” by China National Geographic.
The glaciers on the top of the mountain are towering and beautiful in shape. There are often clouds and mists in the mountains, and at the foot of the mountain is the lush vegetation of the Jiangnan region of Tibet, with beautiful scenery.
Peach blossoms bloom here every spring, and photographing the snow-capped peaks shaded by the flowers is a favorite of many photographers.

In the morning, when you open the window, you will see the holy Mount Nanga Bawa. Its majestic majesty will open your pores. Take a deep breath of the cool air and you will feel refreshed. This is a very "shy" snow mountain, often hiding in the clouds, but it was rated as the most beautiful mountain in China by the National Geographic Magazine of China. If you can see her beauty, you are so lucky!
Walking on the 318 Sichuan-Tibet Highway, we witnessed countless snow-capped mountains along the way. When our car was halfway to the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon, the snow-capped mountain on the opposite hilltop brightened our eyes. I wonder if this is the legendary Mount Namjagbarwa? Later facts proved that this is the legendary Mount Namjagbarwa. On this day, the holy mountain did not completely unveil its mysterious veil. From the far view on the way to the close view at the foot of the mountain, we were unable to see her true appearance. Perhaps our practice was not enough, so only a sharp corner was revealed. Looking up from afar, I was once again grateful for our safety along the way.
Mount Nanga Bawa is almost invisible in summer
Only in winter the chance of sacrifice is high.
The inn where we stayed was very convenient for viewing.
The setting sun casts a golden glow on the mountain peaks.
And wind flags.
Standing on the observation deck on the third floor, quietly feel the beautiful mountains under the afterglow of the sunset. After about ten minutes, the golden color disappears and you fall into a peaceful state.
When the weather is good, Mount Nanga Bawa looks like this, very steep, with an altitude of 7,782 meters. Although it is not a very high peak, the valley is the Yarlung Zangbo River Gorge, with an average relative drop of more than 5,000 meters, like a sharp sword piercing the sky, forming one of the places in the world with the most dramatic terrain changes.
I asked the hotel lobby manager about the situation of Mount Nanga Bawa, and he said that the chance of seeing the South Peak in winter is still very high. Just at an inadvertent turn, a snowy peak suddenly appeared in front of me. Is it Mount Nanga Bawa? Yes, the huge triangular mountain is the handsome figure of Nanga Bawa. At that moment, my heart was filled with joy and happiness filled every pore of my body.
Passing by Gega Village, there is a viewing platform, which is a good place to watch the sunset over the South Peak. On the viewing platform, we waited for the sunset to fall, waiting for the sun to shine on the Golden Mountain. The sky gradually darkened, and the South Peak was sometimes covered by sand, and sometimes revealed its face. The clouds in the west gradually thickened. I only saw the South Peak shining like gold for a moment, and then it gradually dimmed in the twilight. It seems a little regret that I didn't see the Sun Shining on the Golden Mountain, but I was already very satisfied.
This mountain, said to be the most beautiful in China, is covered in the clouds with the sunset glow. I always think that meeting is a kind of fate; if we are destined to meet, we will meet naturally. I felt a little lost when I woke up in the morning. I have to leave today, but I am still thinking about Mount Nanga Parbat, which is hidden in the clouds. I opened the curtains and was full of surprises - the clouds are light, the wind is gentle, and the beautiful Mount Nanga Parbat is standing quietly. I was secretly happy in my heart. Did it hear my voice, which is full of sincerity? In the distance, the sun gradually fell on the top of the mountain. Let me take another look at you, and then continue walking.
One of the most important purposes of coming to Nyingchi is to see Mount Nanga Bawa. After the confluence of the two rivers in the afternoon, its huge figure can be seen from afar. The bad side is that the clouds around it are slowly rising, covering its beautiful figure. There is a speed measurement section in the middle. When the driver was resting, we climbed up to the viewing platform and looked far away. At this time, Mount Nanga Bawa was just covered by clouds. In order to see the Rizhao Jinshan, we chased the sun all the way. At first, everyone was confident that they could see the Rizhao Jinshan because there was enough time and no clouds. But when the first wisp of cloud rose, more and more dark clouds began to gather. By the evening, when we reached Suosong Village, the dark clouds had covered all the mountaintops. Master Wang said, "The shy girl" is shy and doesn't want to see us! Well, the face of the shy girl is still exposed from this angle, but her breasts are half covered. I didn't see it last night, so how could I give up? I got up early and continued. The weather was beautiful, the sky was clear, and the stars and the moon were shining. The sunrise of Mount Nanga Bawa today! Around 7 o'clock in the morning, Nanga Parbat under the moonlight. At this time, there are some clouds passing over the top of the mountain. The sun gradually climbs up, and the Shy Girl Peak is in close-up. I turned around by chance and found that the clouds passed over an unknown peak, and the clouds were shining under the reflection of the morning sun. After breakfast, the group got on the car and set off. Everyone was grateful for the perfect weather in the morning.
The most beautiful mountain in China, I saw it on the way to the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon. I could only see it from a distance, but it was also very spectacular, like a sleeping beauty. When I was there, I also saw flag clouds. The sun was very haloed at that time. It was an indescribable natural phenomenon, very spectacular. It is said that this mountain has not yet been conquered because of its steep peaks.
The next morning, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the hotel faced Mount Nanga Parbat. When I opened the curtains, I could see the pastoral snow-capped mountains. If I was not in a hurry, I could really sit here for a whole day, drink tea and relax!
Mount Namjagbarwa straddles the tropical and frigid zones and is located at the junction of Milin County, Nyingchi County and Medog County in the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon. It is 7,782 meters above sea level and is known as the "Shy Girl Peak" and "Paradise in the Clouds".
Those who can see Nanga Parbat are lucky, because its huge triangular peak is covered with snow all year round, always shrouded in clouds and mist, and never easily reveals its true color.
The face looks like a shy girl, so it is also called "shy girl peak".
The best place to see Mount Nanga Bawa is Suosong Village in Pai County, but even if you stay in a hotel facing the mountain, you can only see it a few times a year. The backyard of the hotel we stayed in faced Mount Nanga Bawa, but there was fog for two consecutive days. The boss said that the chance of seeing it in winter is relatively high. Even if the weather is clear and Mount Nanga Bawa reveals its true appearance, it will not last too long, and you can't even rely on your luck.
Nanga Bawa is praised by China National Geographic Magazine as the most beautiful mountain in China. Its iconic triangle rises straight into the clouds.
Unfortunately, because it is located in Nyingchi, the climate is mild. Once the temperature rises, the snow melts and the fog rises. Therefore, there are only a few days in a year when you can see its true appearance. It is said that there are only less than 50 days to see its true appearance. Some of my friends have come here many times but have never seen it.
Before coming here, I specifically studied the travel guides of previous travelers and the weather in Nyingchi, and found that most of the days in a year when you can see Mount Nanga Bawa are concentrated in December. At this time, the weather is relatively dry, the temperature is relatively low, and the probability of cloud formation is relatively small, which is a great day to view the most beautiful peaks. In addition, December is also the off-season for traveling to Nyingchi, and the price is super cheap, so friends who want to see Mount Nanga Bawa remember to come in December, you will not be disappointed.
Mount Namjagbarwa, one of the ten sacred mountains in Tibet, is also known as the father of all Tibetan mountains. Because it is rarely seen due to the clouds and fog all year round, it is also called the "shy peak". We were very lucky on the day we went there. Maybe because it rained a little the day before and it was sunny the next day, Mount Namjagbarwa not only showed the full view of the nine peaks at once, but also its brother "Lajia Bailei" snow mountain next to it. Legend has it that Namjagbarwa had a violent temper and accidentally cut off the head of his brother "Lajia Bailei" during a quarrel. (The top of Lajia Bailei is flat). Namjagbarwa regretted it very much and has been "ashamed to see people" ever since then, hiding in the clouds and fog all year round. Therefore, there is a saying in the industry that "nine out of ten people have never seen it" to describe it. However, according to my analysis, the Linzhi area is in the monsoon belt, with heavy rain and thick clouds in spring and summer. In the second half of the year, it is less affected by the warm and humid air currents from the Indian Ocean, so the probability of seeing it will be much higher.
In Nyingchi, there is a magical mountain called Nanga Bawa, which is known as the most beautiful snow mountain. It deliberately weaves clouds and mist as a curtain, sets canyons as screens, and sets rapids as barriers, intending to prevent all external things from disturbing the loneliness and solitude that it has been accustomed to for hundreds of millions of years. In the words of local Tibetans, "To see the true face of Nanga Bawa, you need fate, luck and the favor of the gods!" Therefore, people also call it "Shy Girl Peak", and there is a legend that "nine out of ten people will never see it". In winter, due to the influence of the reduced flow of the Yarlung Zangbo River, the clouds and mist become less, and the probability of seeing the entire peak will double. Suosong Village is the best place to stay for viewing the view of Nanga Bawa Peak.
Nanga Parbat, I have traveled thousands of miles across mountains and rivers, just to see you, because meeting you is something I will never forget in this life.
Ahem, I won’t say anything. I almost froze to death so I quickly went back to the car to take some drugs (I didn’t pay attention just now, I had some altitude sickness, so I started taking some drugs)
There were no clouds and the unobstructed view of Mount Namjagbarwa was like a nun's veil being lifted. It was really beautiful. I saw all the snow-capped mountains along the way. After all, I was lucky enough to have clear skies all the way.
Nanga Parbat is 7782 meters above sea level and is the highest snow peak in the southern Himalayas. It is surrounded by clouds all year round and is also known as the "Shy Girl Peak". Only those who are destined to see the peak can see it. The tour guide who took us said that he had only seen it three times. We started our journey at 5 o'clock in the morning and saw the true face of Mount Lu on the way.
Mount Namjagbarwa is one of the three sacred mountains in Tibet. The peak is tall and majestic and no one has ever climbed it. It is shrouded in clouds all year round. It is breathtaking and unforgettable to be lucky enough to see the sunshine on the peak.
Mount Nanga Bawa, from the first time I heard this name, I was filled with infinite longing. It is the 15th highest peak in the world, with an altitude of 7,000 meters. The peak shape is like a spear piercing the sky, and the steep and smooth cliffs all year round make it an insurmountable holy mountain. Later, I was lucky enough to see the true face of the South Peak several times throughout the year. Nanga Bawa can be seen in the Grand Canyon and Sejila Mountain Pass. It is said that those who can unveil its mysterious veil are extremely lucky.
Located at the intersection of the Himalayas, the Nyainqentanglha Mountains, and the Hengduan Mountains, it has an altitude of 7,782 meters and should be the highest mountain in the Linzhi area of Tibet.
Because it is almost always shrouded in clouds and mist, it is difficult to have the opportunity to see its full view and the mountain peak. I stayed at the viewing platform for more than half an hour. If I didn't have the chance to see it, I could only go to the next stop! But I personally think that although I hardly saw anything, the state of clouds and mist is actually a different kind of scenery! 😝😝😝
This time we viewed Mount Namjagbarwa in Sosong Village. The weather was not very good and we were a little disappointed because we came from afar but did not see the expected scenery. Also, the experience of staying in Sosong Village was very bad. I hope the weather will be good next time I come to view Mount Namjagbarwa.
It was spectacular to see it on the route from Chengdu to Linzhi.
Nanga Bawa is the most beautiful mountain in China. Nanga Bawa, shaded by peach blossoms, is breathtakingly beautiful.
Very stunning and beautiful, but it is located in Linzhi, which is usually rainy and foggy. Check the weather before going.
Scenery like Mount Nanga Bawa depends on your luck.
It is called the Shy Girl Peak, and is shrouded in mist all year round, making it difficult to see its true appearance. It is said that nine out of ten people will never see it. I was lucky enough to see its true appearance.
See the most beautiful snow-capped peaks in China at the best time.
Very beautiful, very lucky to see the whole picture, really like a beautiful woman
Magnificent scenery, majestic mountains, and clouds, very beautiful scenery!
The mountain known as the father of icebergs, the breathtaking Namjagbarwa. If you are lucky enough to see "Namjagbarwa", Namjagbarwa is so beautiful and awe-inspiring in all seasons. If you want to see and photograph Namjagbarwa, the best time is in autumn. The air flow at the top of Namjagbarwa is stable, the water content is relatively low, and the air is clearer. There are two places you must go to for viewing and photographing, one is Sejila Pass, and the other is the Grand Canyon area.
Although it is incredibly beautiful, it still depends on your luck. Go and try your luck!
The most beautiful snow-capped mountains in China.......
Beautiful. I like this kind of scenery. The most beautiful snow-capped mountains
Yes, you read it right. This is the Namjagbarwa Peak that we saw from Zhibai Village in the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon Scenic Area. There was nothing but fog. Later, the tour guide said that there are only a handful of places in a year where you can see Namjagbarwa Peak. So how can this be the best observation point? The biggest selling point of this scenic area is also here. The canyon itself is full of fog, so how can it be the best observation point? It is still a scenic area where the publicity packaging is more important than the content. Of course, maybe if I stayed here for one or two more days, I might be able to see it, but most of the tourists should be like me, who only have a maximum of one hour to stay here. I see that many photography enthusiasts usually arrive at the Sejila Mountain Pass when it is almost sunset. The chance of seeing it here is relatively high (because it is high). It is really sad to see many people unwillingly taking pictures of a piece of fog. I took a picture of a sign to relieve the regret in my heart.
Mount Namjagbarwa is worthy of being the most beautiful mountain in Tibet. Its triangular peak is blocky and is most spectacular when viewed from Sejila Pass. In spring, peach blossoms can be seen as a backdrop when viewed from Sosong Village.
In the morning mist, the entire Nanga Parbatwa Peak finally revealed its full appearance. Five minutes later, a veil-like cloud layer floated in and gradually thickened, covering its final appearance.
In the distance is Mount Nanga Bawa.
Mount Namjagbarwa is the highest mountain in the Nyingchi region of Tibet, China, with an altitude of 7,782 meters. It is the holy place of the oldest Buddhist Bon religion in Tibet and is known as the "Father of Tibetan Mountains".
I opened the curtains, hoping to see Mount Nanga Parbat when I wake up tomorrow.
The beautiful profile of a sleeping girl is always covered by clouds and mist, and rarely shows its face. We have waited for a long time, but we still haven't seen the beautiful face of this sleeping girl.
When we arrived at Gongzundem Farm in the evening, we only saw the mountain peak for a short time. The next morning before leaving, the sun was shining brightly and the clouds gradually faded away, and we saw the slightly intact Nanga Parbat. It is a blessing to see it once in a lifetime.
Standing in Suosong Village, looking up at Mount Namjagbarwa, the towering snow-capped mountains stretching in front of us are very shocking. Even on sunny days, Mount Namjagbarwa is often covered by clouds.
At the end of April 2018, I went to Tibet for the first time and came to the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon for the first time. Just as the sun was about to set, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the clouds that had just been covering Mount Namjagbarwa in the distance had dissipated! The "Shy Girl Peak" finally revealed her true appearance. It is said that the peak of Mount Namjagbarwa only appears for an average of about 65 days a year. Mount Namjagbarwa, 7,782 meters above sea level, is the holy place of the oldest Buddhist "Bon Religion" in Tibet and is known as the "Father of Tibetan Mountains".
While strolling, I encountered the scene of Mount Nanga Parbatwa with the clouds and wind clearing away, revealing the golden mountain in the sun. On the other side of the distant mountain, it is high above and sacred and inviolable. All encounters are the best arrangements, neither early nor late, and at this moment, the sense of happy ritual is full of my heart. It must be the blessing and favor of God, gratitude and satisfaction.
The snowy Mount Nanga Parvati was covered by white clouds, appearing and disappearing from time to time. It constantly gave us hope, but also constantly disappointed us. Until dark, we still didn't see the full view of the mountain.
At 6 o'clock in the morning, my brother Da Zi and I went upstairs of the hotel to shoot the sunrise over Nanga Bawa. At first, several peaks of Nanga Bawa were still visible, but the light was not good, but then a large cloud covered them again, and we were disappointed again.
The fifteenth peak at the easternmost end of the Himalayas, the highest peak below 8,000 meters, is really beautiful.
The observation deck was very cold, but luckily I got to see the whole thing, 1234 peaks, you can only experience the excitement when you see them in person
It was so clear, so majestic, like a "spear piercing the sky", and it was the biggest surprise of the three days.
Although it is not the highest, it has always been hailed as the "most beautiful snow mountain". It is indeed shocking, with a pipa half-covered, making people feel very happy, and this happiness comes too suddenly.
Seeing Mount Nanga Bawa was the biggest surprise of my trip! It is a sacred mountain in the hearts of Tibetans, and a snow-capped peak that only appears ten times a year. The snow-capped mountain, the Milky Way, and us are just fleeting existences in the long river of time. Fortunately, I was standing here at that moment.
The first place I went to was the viewing platform of Lulanglin Sea Scenic Area. I didn’t see it, so I was disappointed. Fortunately, I saw it at Sejila Pass when I came back.
The huge triangular peak of Mount Nanga Bawa is covered with snow all year round and is surrounded by clouds and mist. It never reveals its true appearance easily, so it is also called the "Shy Girl Peak". There are many interpretations of Nanga Bawa in Tibetan. One is "thunder and lightning burning like fire", one is "a spear piercing the sky", and another is "a stone falling from the Tianshan Mountain". We stayed in the Suosong Village viewing room for two days but never saw its true appearance.
The most beautiful mountain in China is indeed very beautiful and deserves its name. It is also called "Shameful Girl Peak" and is shrouded in clouds and mist all year round. It is said that nine out of ten people cannot see it.
After the Pastoral Scenery Scenic Area, before reaching the Lulang Forest Sea Scenic Area, there is a simple parking area on the edge of a cliff (which is what I am standing at now), without a name. Opposite is the famous Mount Namjagbarwa!!! This is the only time I have seen Mount Namjagbarwa so clearly, I am so lucky!!! In Nyingchi, in addition to here, there are also the Linhai Observation Deck, Sejila Pass, and the Observation Deck and Zhibai Village in the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon Scenic Area where you can easily see Mount Namjagbarwa. However, it is difficult to see it clearly, it all depends on luck. In Tibet, in September and October, the air is less humid, the sky is high and the clouds are light, and the visibility is very high. It is safer to come here to see the snow-capped mountains (such as Mount Everest) in this season. Unfortunately, when I passed by here this time, I found that the simple parking area on the roadside was gone. Because the roadside here is located on a cliff, guardrails were added during the road renovation in 2016, and it is now impossible to park here for viewing.
It is said that foreigners are no longer allowed to enter here. Although the peak has not yet revealed its true appearance, the beautiful scenery of the Golden Mountain in the Sunlight has already appeared.
Mount Nanga Bawa appeared before my eyes without reservation, the night sky was set against the snow, and the entire mountain was emitting a holy and pure light, shining straight into my heart.
As it surrounds the Yarlung Zangbo River, it is shrouded in clouds and mist all year round, making it difficult to see. We decided to wait for three hours, and fortunately, the weather was fine, allowing us to see the rare Mount Namjagbarwa. It was really beautiful. When the main peak and the secondary peak were all exposed, everyone on the observation deck cheered and hugged each other, because there are less than 50 days in a year when you can see Mount Namjagbarwa, which is very, very difficult to see. We were very lucky this time.
Mount Nanga Bawa. Because of the bad weather, we stopped to take pictures on the way up the mountain. We were worried that we wouldn’t be able to see it after reaching the top. Fortunately, we saw the halfway point of the mountain. There was no main peak. Many people waited for several weeks to see its full view. When we reached the top, it was completely covered by clouds. It really takes fate to see its true appearance.
After waiting for more than 3 hours, I finally captured the sunset at Mount Nanga Bawa in the dark clouds! I was ready to give up, but luckily, God was on my side and I only had 10 minutes, which was enough.
The entire Nanga Bawa Mountain is immersed in a thin layer of clouds and mist, which is just right, just like overflowing from the mountain. The outline of the mountain is clearly discernible, but it is covered by clouds and mist, which adds a touch of mystery. In less than 5 minutes, it seems that an invisible hand in the sky gently lifts up a corner of the clouds and mist, and lifts it from left to right, and the clouds and mist on the mountain slowly fade away like a layer of gauze. Then, the main peak appears! At sunset, the entire Nanga Bawa Mountain is bathed in the golden afterglow of the sunset. This phenomenon of the snow mountain at sunrise and sunset is the famous "Sunshine Golden Mountain", which is why you must stay at the foot of the mountain for a night to see the snow mountain. Unfortunately, this sunset golden mountain is not perfect. The main peak is looming in the golden clouds and mist and refuses to come out easily. You can imagine how shocking it would be if there were no clouds in the sky. Before the sun completely set, the main peak finally appeared completely for a while, but it was too late, because the mountain that had been exposed before was swallowed by the clouds and mist and disappeared. It was a little regretful and imperfect, but I remember it very clearly. I didn’t feel any regret or regret at that time, because everything that day could be summed up in two words to me: contentment. This is the most interesting part of waiting for the snow-capped mountains.
The infinite scenery is at the top, it's pretty good and worth a visit.
The sunset over Mount Nanga Bawa is truly spectacular. The golden sunlight shining on the mountain is truly as enchanting as gold.
Before coming here, I knew that Mount Namjagbarwa was a rare mountain. Usually, people who wanted to see Mount Namjagbarwa would go to the viewing platform of the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon to see it. I really didn't expect to see Mount Namjagbarwa in this former natural barrier. Although we could only see the top of the mountain, it did not affect our imagination of its majestic figure. The triangular peak is like a spear tip piercing the sky, and the white mist floating around it makes people mistakenly think that it will soar into the sky at any time.
The Buddha Dunes are free viewing spots. Once you reach the center of the Grand Canyon, you will need to buy a ticket to enter.
The cover of the ticket features Nanga Parbat, a snowy mountain that can only be seen by chance, and the golden color is the magnificent color given to it by the setting sun. Ordinary people are lucky enough to see Nanga Parbat after the clouds and mist have been cleared. To see the golden mountain, you have to come several times before you can see it, and you may not see it even after several times. Therefore, the golden color is the rarest.
We entered the valley in the morning and saw Mount Namjagbarwa, but it was no longer visible when we left the valley at noon, so those who visited in the afternoon had a regretful visit.
As we were driving and almost reaching the pass, we suddenly saw a group of people standing on a high place cheering. We quickly stopped. We were so lucky. The true appearance of Mount Nanga Bawa was gradually revealed. We quickly got out of the car and took our mobile phones and cameras to take pictures. The two men in particular did not care about the high altitude of the plateau or the cold weather (I also tried to take a down jacket from the trunk, but the box was stuck and I couldn't get it out) and ran straight to the hillside to watch.
Later, the Tibetan bus driver next to us said that he had been driving this route every day for more than two months but had not seen the true appearance of Mount Nanga Bawa. Hearing this, we felt even more lucky on this trip. After getting on the bus, we didn't leave yet, and we kept sighing in the car, the magic and greatness of nature.
Although there were still many clouds blocking the view, the outline of the snow-capped mountains could be vaguely seen. After the sun rose, the clouds gradually dissipated and the snow-capped mountains gradually revealed their full appearance.
We were very lucky this time. There are only a few days a year when the weather is so good that we can see the whole snow mountain. There are only 5 or 6 days a year when you can see the whole view, so it is also called the Shy Girl Peak.
Maybe my photography skills are too poor, and my photos can't capture one tenth of the beauty of Mount Nanga Bawa. The shock of seeing the snow-capped mountains for the first time cannot be described in words! Some beautiful scenery can only be appreciated in person!
Staying in Sosong Village, I was very lucky to see the whole view at night during the rainy season.
It’s time to test your luck. It’s not easy to see it in the rainy season! A friend said that she had come here 3 times but never saw Mount Nanga Bawa. She envied us so much! The next scenery was even more shocking... There was an unknown snow-capped mountain not far from Mount Nanga Bawa. When the sun set, the golden mountain was revealed! Beautiful scenery is the most effective way to cure fatigue. We went down the mountain with satisfaction!
Mount Namjagbarwa is located at the intersection of the Himalayas, Nyainqentanglha Mountains and Hengduan Mountains. It is the highest mountain in Linzhi Prefecture, Tibet, China, with an altitude of 7,782 meters, and is located at the eastern end of the Himalayas.
It usually lasts from May to September, especially in July, August and September, when it rains almost every day and the cloud cover is also very large, so the peak is shrouded in clouds and mist all day long.
I was really lucky, as I was able to see Mount Nanga Bawa on my first visit during the rainy season after only three hours, and the clear sky lasted for about 30 minutes.
Mount Nanga Bawa is so exciting. It depends on luck. You can't see anything on a cloudy day. Don't wait when taking pictures of it. The beauty is instantaneous.
The true appearance of Mount Nanga Parbat gradually emerged. It was so beautiful and shocking, clean and stubborn, standing tall among the mountains and rivers. I was so excited that I couldn't say anything more.
Mount Nanga Bawa looks like a girl lying on a snow-capped mountain. It is usually shrouded in clouds and mist, and its true appearance is difficult to see. Only on sunny days will it lift the mysterious veil to show its proud figure to the world. We are lucky enough to happen to see her beauty!
Local Tibetans said that being able to see the true form of Mount Namjagbarwa is a blessing from the gods. If you can see the golden mountain of Namjagbarwa in the sun, it would be even luckier than meeting a god. Although it is difficult to see clearly due to the clouds and mist, its majestic momentum of rising from the ground and into the sky is still shocking.
It was raining intermittently on the way here, and the clouds were particularly thick. I didn't have high expectations for seeing Mount Nanga Bawa. I arrived at the homestay around 5 o'clock. After packing my luggage, I set up my camera and took pictures. Suddenly, I heard a lot of people screaming downstairs. I glanced at the snow-capped mountain and it was still the same as before. Two people chatted for a while. These people are really making a fuss. There is no change. What is there to scream about? I was bored and took the camera to look at the photos I just took. I was surprised to find that the top of the mountain had emerged from the clouds. We didn't expect the top of the mountain to be so high, so we never found it. So I quickly picked up the camera and started shooting. This mountain top, which only appears for more than 60 days a year, appeared in front of us so easily. Although it was still wrapped in a layer of clouds, we finally saw it. After a few minutes, the entire top of the mountain hid in the clouds again, as if it had never existed.
We went downstairs to have dinner at 8 o'clock. The entire Nanga Parbat was blocked by clouds, so we began to concentrate on eating. When we looked up, the top of the mountain appeared again from the gap in the clouds. The people who were eating dropped their bowls and ran out to take pictures. This time, the view lasted even shorter and disappeared again after a while.
The full view of Mount Nanga Bawa is not often seen, which can only mean one thing: good luck! The peak of Mount Nanga Bawa looks like a woman lying on her back, and looking at the photo, it really is!
In the evening when it was raining and snowing, I was able to see the rare Mount Nanga Parbat, and I did not miss any opportunity to see it.
About Nanga Bawa (from Baidu, the driver and other people’s popular science):
Mount Nanga Bawa is 7,782 meters above sea level, ranking 31st among the world's highest independent peaks. It is the highest mountain in Linzhi City, Tibet, China, and the highest of the 7,000+ peaks. It is listed as the most beautiful mountain in the top ten famous mountains in China by the National Geographic of China. Its huge triangular peak is covered with snow all year round and is shrouded in clouds and mist. It never reveals its true face easily, so it is also called the "Shy Girl Peak".
It is worth mentioning that many online materials say that it is a virgin peak, that is, no one has successfully climbed it. Even our driver told us so. However, Baidu clearly wrote: Due to its towering cliffs, earthquakes, and avalanches, it is extremely difficult to climb. Instead, Nanga Bawa has been the highest "virgin peak" that has not been climbed by humans for a long time. It was not until October 30, 1992 that a joint Chinese and Japanese mountaineering team successfully climbed to the summit.
My personal understanding is that maybe it was too difficult to climb and there was not much meaning in conquering it, so few people went there later, and this legend has been passed down to the present day! In any case, I pay the highest respect to the warriors who climbed it.
