The world's largest canyon is a natural geological museum, a paradise for animals and plants, and a sacred place for original ecological and cultural experiences.
The scenic area has a variety of viewing angles and is the best place to view Mount Nanga Bawa.
From mid-to-late March to early May every year, the century-old peach blossoms in the scenic area are as brilliant as brocade. Early May and early October are the best hiking seasons.
There are many villages inhabited by Gongbu Tibetans scattered throughout the Grand Canyon, which have maintained their eternal living traditions.

It is the deepest and longest river canyon in the world, the last secret place on earth, and the most beautiful scar on earth.
You can see the Nanga Bawa Peak (7782m above sea level) reaching into the clouds, and you can also enjoy the majestic and pure Kalabai Peak (7234m above sea level).
Here, you will be shocked by the wild combination of steep peaks and winding canyons; shocked by the magnificence of the towering Mount Nanga Parbat that reaches into the clouds; shocked by the beauty of the overlapping snow-capped peaks, hanging glaciers, shrouded in clouds and mist, and a variety of weather conditions; shocked by the strangeness of scenic spots such as Dadu Ka, Love Stronger than Rock, and Devil's Heart Stone... Watch the surging river, listen to the roar of the canyon, walk through the depths of the canyon, and taste the primitive wildness. You will be intoxicated and it will be worth your life!
The Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon is the deepest canyon on earth, with a total length of 504.6 kilometers, a maximum depth of 6009 meters, and an average depth of 2268 meters, which is far ahead of the second place. There are nine vertical natural zones with a very complete biodiversity. It is also the largest water vapor channel on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. It splits the mountain barrier between the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and the Indian Ocean water vapor, and continuously transports water vapor to the interior of the plateau. In Tibetan, "Yarlung Zangbo" means "snow water flowing down from the mountains."
Yesterday, I drove to Suosong Village from Ranwu. I took another road and didn't enter from the scenic area. Then it was a bit of a rip-off. Suosong Village had no electricity at night. The boss explained that it often stopped (said it would stop for a while and then come back, but it still didn't come the next day). After driving for 12 hours, I got up in the morning with great expectations to see the peach blossoms. Well, they haven't bloomed yet, just buds, forget it. I returned by the same route, but the Tibetans set up a checkpoint to stop me from leaving (with stones to smash my car, without any documents or signs), and asked me to take the scenic area road to make up the ticket. I was also screwed. I knew that the Grand Canyon was a rip-off so I didn't plan to enter. This Nima Suosong Village is also a scenic spot. Forget it, don't bother with these shrewd people. On the way back, I found that the tourists who came during the day were the big fish. The 280 package only stopped at a few stops along the way. When you get off at the stop, take pictures and leave, just like driving pigs. In short, I don't recommend everyone to come here. It's expensive and bad. It's just a natural landscape, and setting up a checkpoint charges nearly 300, which is simply a rip-off. Apart from the peach blossoms, the water is not as beautiful as that of Ranwu Lake, and the canyon is not as thrilling as that of Tiger Leaping Gorge. I will never come here again in this lifetime.
Although the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon Scenic Area is not far from Nyingchi from the map, the bus stops at any time and passengers can get on and off at any time. It takes about 3 and a half hours to reach the Grand Canyon Scenic Area. At 12:30 noon, we finally arrived at the Grand Canyon.
The shuttle bus from Linzhi to the Grand Canyon only runs at 9 am in winter and can be taken at Linzhi Bus Station.
The Grand Canyon scenic area, which is bustling with traffic during the peak season, is sparsely populated in winter, with dozens of buses parked in the parking lot.
The core attraction of the Grand Canyon Scenic Area is to watch Mount Nanga Bawa along both sides of the canyon. Generally, the entire journey takes less than 2-3 hours. Many tourists arrive at noon and return to Nyingchi immediately after the afternoon tour. But I suggest that it is better to stay in the Grand Canyon for one night, especially in summer, because it is rainy and it is likely that you will not be able to see Mount Nanga Bawa in a few hours of sightseeing. Staying one more night can greatly increase the probability of seeing the sacred mountain. The ticket for the Grand Canyon is 150, and the bus fee is 90, a total of 240. As long as you enter the scenic area, the ticket is not limited to the number of days, and staying one more night will be more cost-effective.
There are two bus routes to the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon: the South Route and the North Route. The bus fee can only be used for one of the routes. The advantage of the South Route is that you can go deep into the canyon, there are viewing points to the Yarlung Zangbo River, and Zhibai Village is closer to Mount Namjagbarwa. The advantage of the North Route is that the view is better, and you can take pictures of Mount Namjagbarwa and the Yarlung Zangbo River at the same time. If you take the South Route, you can stay in Zhibai Village, and if you take the North Route, you can choose to stay in Suosong Village.
We chose to take the Grand Canyon North Route and stay in Suosong Village. After booking a room at the Grand Canyon Suosong Inn in advance, we called the owner, who was very straightforward and came directly to the entrance of the scenic area to pick us up. Not long after the car entered the Grand Canyon, Mount Nanga Bawa appeared in front of us.
The scenic area will have a scenic tour guide who will take you to 4 scenic spots and accompany you throughout the trip. He will introduce you to some scenic spots. The Monte people's village is still preserved in the scenic area, and the tradition of polyandry is still preserved.
From the innermost observation deck in the Grand Canyon Scenic Area, you can get a close view of Mount Nanga Bawa (7,782 meters above sea level), but we were ultimately unable to see it. In the misty drizzle, it was unwilling to reveal its true face.
In fact, the time in Linzhi is still short. If there is one or two more days, you can go to Medog, which has been commented as the last secret place on earth. In addition to seeing Nanga Bawa on the second day, we also set a trip to the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon. The Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon starts from Daduka Village in Milin County in the north and ends at Bashika Village in Medog County in the south. The canyon is 504.6 kilometers long, with an average depth of 2,268 meters and the deepest point reaching 6,009 meters. The average altitude is above 3,000 meters. It is the largest canyon in the world. The entire canyon area is intertwined with glaciers, cliffs, steep slopes, mudslides and huge waves. The terrain and landforms are very rich. Baidu, ten words can summarize the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon: high, strong, deep, moist, secluded, long, dangerous, low, strange, and beautiful.
........The Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon starts from Daduka Village, Milin County (2,880 meters above sea level) in the north and ends at Bashika Village, Medog County (115 meters above sea level) in the south. It is 504.6 kilometers long, with an average depth of 2,268 meters and a maximum depth of 6,009 meters. The average altitude is above 3,000 meters. It is the world's largest canyon. The entire canyon area is intertwined with glaciers, cliffs, steep slopes, mudslides and huge rivers with huge waves. The environment is very harsh. Many areas have not been set foot on it so far. It can be called "the last secret place on earth" and one of the few blank areas in geological work. Mount Nanga Bawa is the highest peak in Linzhi City, Tibet, China. It is 7,782 meters above sea level and is the 15th highest peak in the world. It is known as the "Father of Tibetan Mountains" and "Paradise in the Clouds". In Tibetan, it is called "the spear that pierces the blue sky".
........Tickets to the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon are 150 yuan per person (no time limit after entering the scenic area), and the scenic area sightseeing bus line A (South Line Scenic Area: Visitor Center-Waterfront Platform) and the scenic area sightseeing bus line B (North Line Scenic Area: Visitor Center-Suosong-Dalin Village) are both 90 yuan per person. The current half-price ticket discount is 165 yuan per person (75 yuan per person for tickets + 90 yuan per person for sightseeing buses). Private cars are not allowed to enter the southern line of the scenic area (southeast bank of the river), and only tickets for the scenic area sightseeing bus line A are allowed to visit; private cars are allowed to enter and exit the northern line of the scenic area (north bank of the river), and tourists staying in the scenic area can only buy tickets and not tickets for the scenic area sightseeing bus line B (negotiate with the hotel to send a car to the entrance of the scenic area for pick-up).
........The main selling point of the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon Scenic Area is to view Mount Namjagbarwa along both sides of the canyon. There are two sightseeing bus routes in the scenic area: the south line and the north line (i.e. the south bank of the river and the north bank of the river, connected by a bridge in the middle). The sightseeing bus fee of 90 yuan per person can only choose one of the routes. The advantage of the south line is that you can go deep into the canyon and go down to the water platform by the Yarlung Zangbo River; the advantage of the north line is that you can look up at Mount Namjagbarwa from a better perspective (you can drive into the north line scenic area on the Suosong Village side after purchasing a ticket, and you can only take the scenic sightseeing bus to the south line scenic area), and you can take pictures of Mount Namjagbarwa and the Yarlung Zangbo River at the same time.
........(1) The southern route of the scenic area is suitable for a one-day tour by sightseeing bus. The tour route is as follows: Take a sightseeing bus from the scenic area's visitor center to visit the four stops in sequence: Dadu Ka Ruins → Love Square (Thousand-year-old ancient mulberry tree, love is stronger than stone) → Mountain Viewing Platform → Waterfront Platform. Then take a sightseeing bus from the Waterfront Platform directly back to the scenic area's visitor center (without stopping in between). The time spent at each stop is determined by the tourists themselves. After the tour, take the next sightseeing bus to the next stop, which normally takes 2.5-3 hours.
........(2) The northern route of the scenic area is suitable for a two-day tour with self-driving and accommodation. The northern route of the scenic area mainly allows you to stay in a hotel near the scenic area to enjoy the sunrise over the Golden Mountain. Note: It rains a lot in Nyingchi in summer. If you stay for only 2-3 hours, your chances of seeing Mount Namjagbarwa are slim. Staying one more night can greatly increase the chances of seeing Mount Namjagbarwa.
The Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon is the largest and deepest canyon in the world, located in Pai Town, Milin City, Nyingchi City, Tibet, with the main part in Medog County. The canyon starts from Daduka Village, Pai Town, Milin County (3,000 meters above sea level) in the north, passes through the Yarlung Zangbo River bend in Pailong Township, and ends at Bashika Village, Medog County (115 meters above sea level, in the southern part of Tibet, close to Assam, India) in the south. It is 504 kilometers long, with an average depth of 2,268 meters and a maximum depth of 6,009 meters.
The Yarlung Zangbo River originates from the Himalayas and flows eastward along the valley on the northern slope of the Himalayas for more than 1,000 kilometers. When it reaches the junction of Nyingchi, Milin, Medog and Bomi counties, it suddenly changes its mind and flows southward, forming a horseshoe-shaped bay, which just hugs the beautiful Mount Namjagbarwa tightly.
There are three stops along the way. The first is the starting point of the Grand Canyon, where you can see the winding and magnificent river valley. The second is a large square with a thousand-year-old mulberry tree. If you look at the river valley from a high place, it can be used as wallpaper if the peach blossoms are in full bloom. The third point is the viewing platform for the closest view of Mount Nanga Bawa. I went there in the morning, and there were no clouds in the sky, so I could see the peak clearly. But in the afternoon, it was covered by clouds again.
The Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon is a scenic spot. You must buy a ticket to enter the scenic spot. You can choose whether to buy a sightseeing bus after entering. The canyon itself is not very shocking, but it looks particularly spectacular under the blessing of Mount Nanga Bawa.
You can enjoy the canyon scenery like a painting from the viewing platform, and you can put yourself in the painting from the water platform. Standing at the bottom of the valley, looking up at the snow-capped mountains and the blue sky, the rumbling sound of water echoes in the valley. You can feel the power of water, the power of mountains, the power of nature, and the powerful energy collision. In an instant, you feel as small as a grain of sand. The Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon is a world wonder like the work of nature, the deepest canyon on land, and you must come once in your life.
The most magnificent canyon in the world, better than the Parlung Zangbo Grand Canyon (actually I haven’t been to this canyon, but I’ve heard of it), and more beautiful than the famous Grand Canyon of Colorado.
Let’s not talk about the rich treasures of the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon, let’s not talk about its height difference, let’s not talk about its ~~~~~ (omit N words), just talk about its magnificent and magnificent (^-^) beauty, the snow-capped mountains, the gorgeous peach blossoms and various mountain flowers, the emerald green river water... Oh, I didn’t learn Chinese well, no matter how hard I try, I can’t describe its beauty! I suggest you go and see it in person, that kind of soul-stirring beauty, that kind of shocking beauty, it’s simply, beautiful-stunning-stunning!!!
Visited the Yarlung Zangbo River, bought a package ticket, and took a bus to visit the scenic area. There are probably only a few stops, and except for one stop where you can see the big bend, there is nothing to see at other attractions. The sky was gray and the scenery was not very good. This can be said to be a great bend of nature, but in fact the scenery is average. Maybe I came at the wrong time, and the package ticket of more than 200 is too expensive.
When I came to the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon, I was shocked! It is worthy of being the world's largest canyon! It was very thrilling to look down from the sightseeing car. The staff of the scenic spot I met were very enthusiastic. It is worth a visit!
Of course, you must visit the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon when you come to Linzhi. I heard about it from geography textbooks when I was a child. What's more, it is the largest canyon in the world, so you must come. It takes about 2 hours to drive from Milin County. Foreign vehicles cannot enter. After buying a ticket, you can change to a scenic bus. Judging from the narrow and winding mountain roads on both sides of the canyon, it is actually relatively safe to take a scenic bus. There are several viewing points in the Grand Canyon Scenic Area, and of course you can see the Yarlung Zangbo River and Mount Namjagbarwa in the distance. The charm of the Yarlung Zangbo River seen from different viewing points is not the same. There are wide and slow-flowing rivers and turbulent sharp bends. As for Mount Namjagbarwa in the distance, it depends on luck. We came on a rainy day and didn't have much hope. When we wanted to leave, the clouds suddenly cleared and the South Peak was half covered with a lute, revealing half of its figure. It was extremely lucky. If time permits, if you want to see the South Peak, it is recommended to come in September and October. The South Peak cannot be seen most of the time in the rainy season in July and August.
The Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon is known as the "largest canyon in the world".
It is said to be the deepest canyon on earth and is very spectacular all the way.
The road conditions are also very exciting, and nearly an hour's drive along the winding mountain road.
There are several bends that seem to be 270 degrees, so be sure to choose a driver who drives steadily.
The scenery is really amazing, and the scenery seen with the naked eye is very beautiful.
The river at the foot of the mountain, the small houses, and the mountain peaks half-hidden by clouds all make people feel particularly beautiful.
But it is a pity that due to limited photography skills, there is no way to record the beautiful scenery through the lens.
The Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon is often referred to as the Grand Canyon in Pai Town, Milin County, which is also the place closest to Mount Namjagbarwa. There are many ways to go to the Grand Canyon. You can join a group or drive by yourself. Generally, there are two roads along the left and right of the Yarlung Zangbo River. The left route will pass through the Yani Wetland Park, Benri Mountain, and the Buddha Palm Sand Dunes. The right route is basically all along the river and there is not much to see. The Grand Canyon tour is generally completed by taking a sightseeing bus from Pai Town along the right side of the river to Zhibai Village. The route we toured is from Tunbai Village-Suosong Village-Dalin Village-Zhibai Village-Pai Town, completing a circular route, which is also the best route at present. The vastness of the Grand Canyon, the remoteness of the Yarlung Zangbo River, and the magnificence of Nanga Bawa have jointly created this beautiful scene! ! !
In general it's pretty good, but at the end of April, the water flow is not very large, and the water level is not particularly high, so the momentum is a little weaker. But I finally went to Linzhi, Tibet, and I had to check in. I remember there are four scenic spots in total, and you have to take the scenic shuttle bus. I remember it was 80 yuan or 100 yuan. The tickets were free in April 2018. There were still a lot of people, especially at the signboard. There are always people wanting to take a photo with the sign!
Then I saw a little bit of the most famous Mount Nanga Bawa, but I didn't see the peak. I didn't have that luck, so I could only watch it on TV! 😄The altitude here is not very high, and there are a lot of greenery, so there is no reaction at all!
This so-called world's largest canyon has not been developed yet. We can only see the Suosong Village section at an altitude of about 3,000 meters. The ticket is 150 yuan, half price for people over 60 years old; the transportation ticket is 90 yuan, a total of 240 yuan, stopping at 5 scenic spots. If it weren't for the last unexpected attraction provided by the Tibetans, the Grand Canyon would have been too disappointing.
The Tibetans drove us up the mountain and took us to a very high place, a protruding rock on the edge of the cliff. It really felt like the Grand Canyon! It was an unexpected reward.
It splits the mountain barrier that separates the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau from the Indian Ocean, and continuously supplies water vapor to the interior of the plateau, making the southeastern part of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau a green world, with some places becoming the Jiangnan of Tibet.
150 yuan/person (ticket) + 90 yuan/person (scenic area bus ticket)
The Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon is so beautiful that I don't want to go back after coming here. I love it so much. I will come again.
The scenic area has poor management of rides. It's a pity for this 5A scenic spot. There are many imperfections. There is nothing special about it. It feels like a small ditch. I can't see the grandeur.
It just has some small features, but maybe my expectations were too high, so it doesn’t feel particularly good.
Generally, there is no shock, mainly to see the Nanga Bawa Peak
It is a relatively mature scenic spot with beautiful scenery.
The weather was perfect. We took a boat trip on the Yarlung Zangbo River and then took a hot air balloon ride after reaching the Grand Canyon. It was very enjoyable.
A must-visit place in Nyingchi, the tour effect exceeded expectations, looking forward to the next time.
The quietest section of the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon is in Linzhi.
There are peach blossoms in the Yajiang Canyon in spring and autumn colors in the Yajiang Canyon in autumn. The most famous thing about the Yajiang Canyon is the viewing of Mount Nanga Bawa at the last stop. If the weather is bad and you can't see the whole scenic area, it will lose more than half of its beauty. The famous Yajiang Big Bend seems to be invisible in the Yajiang Grand Canyon Scenic Area.
It is recommended to travel by car. The beautiful scenery along the way seems a bit desolate in winter, with no green.
One of the regular routes, not very interesting, it is an optional attraction, my personal recommendation.
I visited during the National Day in 2010. The weather was not good, so I didn't get to take a photo of Mount Nanga Bawa.
The Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon is the deepest canyon on earth and is also known as the world's largest canyon. In the dry season, the sand and rocks at the bottom of the Yarlung Zangbo River are exposed, and under the influence of the canyon airflow, a "sandstorm" will magically blow up on the river surface.
Under the Namjagbarwa Peak at the easternmost end of the Himalayas, the Yarlung Zangbo River is the mother river of Tibet.
Actually, we came to the Grand Canyon mainly to see the snow-capped mountains of Mount Nambagawa. If the weather is good, we can also see the sunrise and sunset. The innkeeper said that the scenery is very beautiful. If we want to take pictures of the stars at night, it is also a good choice. However, the weather was too cold at that time, so we didn't bother.
There are a total of 4 stops in the Grand Canyon, and each stop takes about 20-25 minutes, which is similar to the tour mode of the Devil City in Dunhuang.
The first stop, I think the weather is really important. If there is blue sky and white clouds, the effect of the photos here will be very different. In fact, the river valley is still very beautiful.
The second stop, a Tibetan village, was of little significance.
The third stop was a huge mulberry tree and a peach tree sandwiched between a boulder, which really made them fall in love.
The fourth stop is the most beautiful and the essence of the entire scenic area - the S-shaped river valley. If it is spring or late autumn, it is extremely beautiful.
I drove here by myself. I read the reviews online and thought it was just average. I originally planned to just walk around along the way. It was almost 6pm when I arrived at the entrance of the scenic spot. However, I still thought that since I came here, I should not leave any regrets. I bought a 150 yuan ticket (I didn't buy a sightseeing bus ticket) and drove in. The road condition was generally good, and there were a few sections where you couldn't miss other cars. After entering, I drove more than 20 kilometers, stopped at a few places, and finally reached an observation deck and couldn't drive forward (the road ahead was under construction). The view of the Grand Canyon from the observation deck was not as shocking as I imagined, and it was not the most dangerous place in the usual aerial photos, so it felt just average.
The first attraction is a horse grazing site
The second attraction is a village where you can buy things.
The Grand Canyon Scenic Area has its own tour buses, which stop at scenic spots.
The third attraction is a big banyan tree and a peach tree growing on a rock. It is said that walking around the peach tree three times will bring you good luck in love.
The fourth attraction is the Yarlung Zangbo River Bend
Then we finished visiting the scenic area...it was really rubbish
It is said that this scenic spot is not as good as expected... There is nothing we can do. Only these parts of the Grand Canyon have been developed, and the rest are uninhabited areas. If you want to enter, you need to be guided by local Tibetans on foot. It's a pity.
In general, the scenic spot is not worth the price. When I went there, it was during the National Day holiday. There were two types of tickets, one with buffet, 290 yuan per person, and one without buffet, 240 yuan per person. After hesitating for a while, in view of the poor food in other scenic spots, I didn't buy the buffet. After entering, we found a restaurant and ordered dishes by ourselves, and felt that the taste was not bad. The owner of the restaurant is from Sichuan. He told us that the scenic spot is under construction. Now only 1/3 is open. The rest can't be seen. It's quite difficult. He introduced us like this, and I suddenly had a bad premonition. Then I went to the place where I took the bus, took the sightseeing bus, and went all the way to the scenic spot. The first scenic spot made us very disappointed, the horse farm ruins, there is nothing worth seeing. The second scenic spot is the residential houses, and there are prayer flags, which are not very interesting. When I arrived at the third scenic spot, it was said that the century-old mulberry tree and the love are stronger than the stone. This is worth seeing. The fourth scenic spot is the viewing platform, overlooking the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon. It can be said that the main content of the scenic spot is the Grand Canyon, and there is nothing else worth seeing. But the characteristics of the Grand Canyon are too single and not rich. In general, it is not worth recommending, but I heard that it is under construction. Maybe after it is completed, the content will be richer and there will be more places worth seeing.
I actually didn't think it was that beautiful when I saw it, but after it was taken in the photo, the river water seemed to have a bit more tenderness under the slightly dark clouds, and the unruly and free soul never stopped. The cold river water under the dark clouds is also a different feeling.
150+90, too unlucky, didn't see Mount Nangava, 240 spent 🉐️ not worth it, it's better to look at the photos at the entrance, very bad experience.
Last time I went to Tibet, I wanted to visit the Grand Canyon, but unfortunately for various reasons, I didn't make the trip. This time, I finally got there, but unfortunately, I was really disappointed.
The ticket price for the Grand Canyon scenic area is 240/person. It takes about 2 and a half hours to enter the scenic area by taking a tour bus! The rainy season clouds blocked the Namjagbarwa Peak tightly, and only a small piece could be seen! It is really a mediocre attraction for us. It is recommended that you go to Linzhi first when you go to Tibet. Like us, we first went to see the Tanggula Mountains and Mount Everest in Shigatse, and then followed the Yarlung Zangbo River back to Lhasa. After this route, the scenery of the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon is very similar to what we saw on the road before, and it even feels incomparable to the previous spectacular scenery, which is easy to produce aesthetic fatigue! Comfort each other, this high ticket price is considered to be a contribution to the economic development of Tibet!
Although I have read many advices, my parents still want to come. I have nothing to say, so I will post a picture without filters for your reference. I am sure many people will still come, haha
There is a saying that if you visit some places, you will regret it for a while, but if you don't visit them, you will regret it for a lifetime. I did regret visiting the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon: the ticket price was too expensive, and the tour time was only three hours; the boarding and alighting points were too fixed, which made it difficult to explore freely; the attractions were limited, and I passed by the first attraction, Modu Lake, on the bus without getting off. The attraction I saw the most was Nanga Bawa, and the rest was unremarkable; as the world's best, I didn't see its shock.
If I don't go, I will regret it for the rest of my life, so I feel relieved.
I had lunch at the restaurant in the scenic area, a buffet, and the taste was barely enough to fill my stomach. I took the scenic area sightseeing bus to tour. To be honest, the ticket price of more than 200 yuan is really not worth it. Before I came, I heard that the Grand Canyon is just famous, but there is no scenery to see! But if you come to travel, you will definitely regret not going to the Grand Canyon, and you will regret it even more if you go! I just wanted to see Mount Nanga Bawa in the Grand Canyon.
The tour ended at five o'clock. Mamma Mia, it was finally over. Because the sightseeing bus was a circular tour, you could only ride one stop after another to reach the end.
Not far before the entrance to the scenic area, there is an observation deck from which you can just see the Yarlung Zangbo River and the snow-capped peaks opposite.
On our way back from Lulang Forest Sea, the mountains and vegetation were lush and green, and they were dotted on both sides of the road. Every place was a beautiful scenery, especially on a high ground in a valley. Looking down from above, the whole valley was in sight, and even the golden surface of the Yarlung Zangbo River at the bottom of the valley was clearly visible. There were mountains on both sides of the valley, and the mountains were covered with lush forests. There were two rivers at the bottom of the valley, winding down from the depths of the valley, like two tiny silver snakes, passing through the mountains and forests, looming. Some sections of the river were as dazzling as mirrors in the sunset, and finally plunged into the mighty torrent of the Yarlung Zangbo River. Such a beautiful scenery, coupled with the infinite sunset, was magnificent.
The color of the water was not as green and jade-like as I had imagined, but a mixture of mud and sand.
Human beings are just a drop in the ocean, and some landscapes need to be experienced in person.
Distance creates beauty. Perhaps only by climbing a mountain and looking from afar can the majestic beauty of the Yarlung Zangbo River be displayed more majestically.
There is a saying that you must visit Tibet once in your life to make your life perfect. On that snowy plateau, there are not only the scenery that attracts us, but also our deep concern.
I was lucky enough to travel to Tibet with my friends. The Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon is the largest canyon in the world and it is definitely not to be missed. On the first day, we arrived at the Grand Canyon late, so we checked in directly. For dinner, we had local specialties, such as Tibetan fragrant pigs, which were fat but not greasy and sweet. After dinner, we took a walk on the Paizhen Bridge and took a few photos. The next morning, we took the scenic sightseeing bus and entered the scenic area for a tour. The Yarlung Zangbo River is really a magical place, with blue sky, snow-capped mountains, the Yarlung Zangbo River, wild peach blossoms, and sand dunes that can only be found in the desert. Mount Namjagbarwa is the highest mountain in Nyingchi, with an altitude of 7,782 meters. Although it is not as high as Mount Everest, no one has climbed to the top so far. Its huge triangular peak is covered with snow all year round and surrounded by clouds and mist. It never reveals its true face easily. It is said that nine out of ten people have never seen it, so it is also called the Shy Girl Peak. I was lucky enough to see her beauty, Tashi Delek.
Tibet is a place that everyone yearns for. It is a sacred and solemn place. Everyone must have such a trip in their life, or it is more appropriate to say that it is a baptism. If you don’t go to Tibet, you don’t know how insignificant you are... The Nanga Bawa Peak in the Grand Canyon, the beauty of Basongcuo, the scenery of the Niyang River... Countless beautiful scenery, every place is amazing! I love the riverside hotel in the Grand Canyon. I won’t say much about the hotel facilities. The large floor-to-ceiling glass windows alone can give you unlimited imagination. The super beautiful scenery of the Yarlung Zangbo River is unobstructed. It is absolutely unique. You can’t find a second hotel like this. Recommend it! Must recommend! ! ! Experienced the speedboat on the lake in Basongcuo, beautiful! The full yacht on the Yarlung Zangbo River ⛵️ must be recommended. The 70-kilometer river cruise has been on many yachts. The plateau is unique! The people-friendly experience of Tibetan homestays cannot be missed! (In fact, Tibetan compatriots are really enthusiastic, very enthusiastic!)
This is the place with the most tourists since I came to Tibet. You can't drive into the scenic area by car, you have to change to a sightseeing bus. There are four scenic spots along the way, the Dadu Horse Ruins, the thousand-year-old ancient mulberry and peach trees in the cracks of the rocks, a Tibetan folk village, and the Yarlung Zangbo Big Bend. Except for the last point, it doesn't matter whether you see the other ones or not.
The Yarlung Zangbo River Bend is a classic attraction where the rushing river makes an incredible 270-degree turn around the valley.
I went there in early August. Along the way, I passed the Benri Sacred Mountain Scenic Area. There was a very majestic tree there, which was particularly spectacular. All the way to the Grand Canyon, there were all kinds of beautiful scenery. I would like to go there again if I have the chance.
Yes, there are several scenic spots along the way, which is a good place to rest when you are tired of driving. The first scenic spot we passed from Linzhi was the Niyang River Observation Deck, which is highly recommended. It is said that Premier Li Keqiang also visited it at the end of July. It is a wetland park. The tour guide next to the stop said that we can go rafting and kayaking in the willow forest, but we didn't go because we didn't have enough time.
The next point is the sand dunes, which are amazing and formed naturally by the river.
The scenic spot ticket is 150, and the sightseeing bus is 90. I originally wanted to drive myself, but after entering, I found that taking the sightseeing bus was the right choice. The roads in the scenic area are narrow, and passing cars tests your skills😄😄
Unfortunately, I didn't see Mount Nanga Bawa, but I saw a rainbow.
The Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon is well worth a visit, although it is far from being fully developed. The river at the entrance of the canyon is turbulent and the river surface is wide. Take a sightseeing bus up the river. The winding mountain road is narrow and steep. There are five scenic spots to see, including the Millennium Ancient Mulberry and Love is Stronger than Rock. From many viewing platforms, you can see the majestic Mount Nanga Bawa, a snow-capped mountain that humans have not conquered so far. The whole journey takes 3 hours.
I went to Tibet in July. The deepest canyon in the world, the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon, impressed me the most.
We experienced their wild luxury on the Yajiang River, took a boat upstream from the Benri Sacred Mountain, entered the Grand Canyon, and landed on a dreamy sandbar island on the way. We also tried various snacks of the Gongbu Tibetans on the island, which were extremely delicious!
This trip to Tibet left me with a deep impression of the Grand Canyon. Although I was unlucky and did not see Mount Namjagbarwa, which left me with a little regret, this also gave me a reason to go to Tibet again in October!
If you want to see Mount Nanga Bawa, you need good luck!
The scenery is on the road, and it takes about 3 hours to complete the tour by taking the scenic sightseeing bus.
I learned about the world's largest canyon in my elementary school textbooks... Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon. I have always been looking forward to it. During this trip to Yarlung Zangbo, I saw Mount Namjagbarwa. The guides on the bus also gave us careful explanations and services along the way. Many of the staff were local Tibetans and were very kind. In particular, one of our friends lost his phone on the sightseeing bus when he got off the bus due to carelessness. The staff found it back. It was a very satisfying trip... I personally think that not only are the mountains and waters here beautiful, but the people are even more beautiful...
The Yarlung Zangbo River forms a huge bend around Mount Namjagbarwa, which is also an excellent place to view Mount Namjagbarwa. It is so close, and the visual impact of the more than 5,000-meter drop will make you breathtakingly stunned by the magnificence of the snow-capped mountain canyon.
After getting the ticket, you have to take a bus instead. The mountain road is very narrow and looks very scary, but you can enjoy the Yarlung Zangbo River along the way~
There are burritos for sale in the scenic area, 10 yuan each, a little expensive, but tastes good
There is a big tree in the scenic area. It is said that it was planted by Songtsen Gampo and Princess Wencheng. I don’t know whether it is true or not, but this tree is really big and is regarded as a mascot by the locals.
There is a large beautiful grassland on the left side of the tree. There are many Tibetan pigs raised by Tibetans. Be sure to stay away from them. Although they are cute, they bite people.
There is also a big stone. It is said that walking around the stone a few times (I forgot how many times) can help you find love.
There are also many small Mani piles (remember, Mani piles can only be added but not taken away~)
The tourist center of the Yarlung Zangbo River Grand Canyon Scenic Area is about 2 kilometers away from Pai Town, and the length of the scenic area canyon section is about 15 kilometers. The shuttle bus has 3 stops along the way, the first of which is a big tree, which is boring. The second stop overlooks the Yarlung Zangbo River from a high place, and you can also see the snow-capped mountains in the distance. The third stop is low, and you can see the Yarlung Zangbo River up close. The section of the shuttle bus road near Zhibai Village is a winding mountain road, which is a bit dangerous.
It's a place where the higher the expectations, the greater the disappointment, haha ~ Maybe it's because only the first 20 kilometers are open, we can only see a big S-shaped turn, but we can already imagine the magnificence of the depths of the Grand Canyon!
Due to the harsh geographical environment of the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon, many people have failed in their attempts to cross it, so no one knows its exact geographical data. The fact that the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon was mapped and made public so late is enough to show that the environment of the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon is difficult and scientific research is difficult.
Although the Grand Canyon has become another world record on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, it is far less famous than the Colorado Grand Canyon. Before I went to Tibet, I didn't know there was such a world-class canyon. On the one hand, the environment is bad and transportation is inconvenient. The places we can reach are all on the cliffs of the Grand Canyon, where we have to carve mountains and build roads, and many places in the Grand Canyon are difficult for tourists to set foot in. On the other hand, there are too few popular science materials about the Grand Canyon, and they are difficult to obtain.
All you can see is the canyon, but the sacred mountain is hard to find. When you take the scenic area's eco-friendly bus into the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon, the main attraction is still the peach blossoms blooming along the coast.
The Grand Canyon is the longest and deepest canyon in the world, with five tributaries in the upper reaches of the Yarlung Zangbo River and the lower reaches flowing into the Ganges River in India. The entire Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon stretches for more than 504 kilometers.
(Price guide: Grand Canyon ticket is 240 per person, half-price ticket for children is 165, and seniors over 65 are 90. The tour takes about 2 to 3 hours)
The Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon under Mount Nanga Bawa is not as majestic, shocking and steep as I imagined. It is not much different from the canyons I have seen in many places.
After entering the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon, you have to take the scenic area's sightseeing bus. Each bus is equipped with a tour guide. The main task of this bus is to take tourists to various scenic spots. There are stops between each scenic spot, and a trip is made every once in a while. There are four scenic spots in total. The first one is the thousand-year-old mulberry tree. The trunk is huge and full of Hada. There is also a saying that turning around this tree a few times can bring wealth and luck in picking flowers. If you come here in March or April, looking down from this place, you can see the beautiful village by the river in the canyon. The peach blossoms are in full bloom, and combined with the green fields, it is a great opportunity for photography. The second is the Nanga Bawa Observation Deck, where you can see the Nanga Bawa Peak
The view is good. The third viewing platform is the canyon bend, where you can see the river bend and the winding mountains. The last parking point is the end point Zhibai Village, which is also one of the best places to view Mount Nanga Bawa, where you can enjoy the magnificence of the snow-capped mountains at the lowest point.
The entrance ticket to the scenic spot includes lunch. The plates are like the ones we used when we were in college. The food tastes good for a canteen meal, but the tableware is not very good and needs to be wiped with a paper towel. The taste is good, but the hygiene of the tableware needs to be improved.
In fact, the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon is very long, and it feels like you need aerial photography to capture its grandeur!
Actually, it is said that you can see the Nanga Bawa Snow Mountain at this scenic spot, but when we arrived at this spot, the snow peak was hidden in the clouds and we couldn’t see it.
In fact, the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon is a bit tasteless! If you don't come, the fame is there, and you will never be willing to come. If you come, you will definitely regret it! The tour guide explained that the main reason for choosing this attraction is its fame.
The scenic spot developed by the locals themselves has incomplete facilities and a rustic flavor that does not match its reputation, but the ticket price is very worthy of its name, which is said to be 299. If you take a cruise, it will cost more than 1,000. After entering the scenic area, you must first take the scenic area's unified shuttle bus, which is like a bus. It will depart when it is full. Each bus is equipped with a tour guide for a unified tour and returns in the same bus.
The shuttle bus takes nearly an hour to drive along the winding mountain road, and then arrives at the first scenic spot, a large stone engraved with scriptures and a tree said to be planted by Princess Wencheng and Songtsen Gampo. After visiting for more than ten minutes, continue to get on the bus to the second scenic spot, the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon.
Actually, excluding the fact that the scenic spot is too bad, the Grand Canyon is still beautiful in terms of scenery, and it has the best viewing point of Mount Nanga Bawa, but the visibility was not high that day, so I didn't get to see the beauty of the sacred mountain. To be honest, I had never heard of it before, and I only found out about it after I came to the scenic spot. If you are interested, you can search it online.
The first viewing platform has a large mulberry tree that is said to be more than a thousand years old. It is said to have been planted by Songtsen Gampo and Princess Wencheng. The old tree is lush and blooms every year. The locals regard it as a lucky charm and hang white Hada around it.
The second viewing platform is where you can get a close look at Mount Namjagbarwa. Unfortunately, the peak of Mount Namjagbarwa was blocked by clouds and mist, so we couldn't see its true appearance, but its majestic momentum of rising from the ground and straight into the sky was still shocking. The Yarlung Zangbo River flows through the canyon, and the villages in the canyon in the distance are set against the snow-capped mountains shrouded in clouds and mist, like a paradise on earth, which is fascinating. If you have enough time, it must be great to stay there for a few days.
The third viewing platform is closest to the Yarlung Zangbo River. Listening to the sound of waves echoing in the canyon and watching the river, which is not turbulent but still carves a path through the mountains, winding forward and rushing towards the Indian Ocean, one can't help but marvel at the wonders of nature.
The fourth place was also a close view of Mount Namjagbarwa, but the clouds were thicker from this angle. We had no choice but to leave the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon with a little regret.
We bought tickets and came in. There was a buffet inside. The food was average. There were so many people. It was barely enough to make ends meet.
You must take a sightseeing bus to come in, and there will be a guide on each bus. You will check in and park at the scenic spot!
The first stop is the Daduka Ruins, which are two earth walls. I don’t want to comment on them, but you can take a full view of the Yarlung Zangbo River from here, which is pretty good!
Next, the scenic area sightseeing bus took us to the Menba Folk Village! No complaints! It was just like any weekend resort in Beijing, haha
Next is the Mulberry Tree of Strong Love and the Earthquake Stone Peach Tree, which are said to have been planted by Songtsen Gampo and Princess Wencheng! If you circle around it three times, you will see peach blossoms blooming.
Finally, we came to the most important point of this station, the viewing point of Mount Nanga Bawa. Because it was the rainy season, the snow-capped mountains 🏔️ were not visible.
The scenic area was supposed to have four attractions, but only two were open due to road construction.
The first attraction is an ancient mulberry tree. There is a huge rock in the scenic area, and a peach tree grows in the crack, splitting it in two. Everyone who comes here walks around the big rock to pray for a happy life and sweet love.
The second attraction is Mount Namjagbarwa, the first of the ten famous mountains in China.
The third attraction is the Yarlung Zangbo River Canyon Big Bend. But because of road construction in the scenic area, we had to stop at the second attraction.
The fourth attraction is Zhibai Village, the end point, which is also the best place to view Mount Nanga Bawa. You can appreciate the magnificence of the snow-capped mountains at the lowest point.
The peach blossoms below the canyon were not in bloom, so I was destined not to see them today. At that time, I thought, let alone the peach blossoms, I would at least see the mountains! When we first arrived at the Grand Canyon Observation Deck, the fog was still very heavy. Everyone was waiting, and some photography enthusiasts had already added tripods and waited for a long time! Suddenly, a peak appeared, and everyone was ecstatic. The photography experts next to them all started taking pictures, and then the full view of the seven peaks of Nanga Bawa began to appear and became clearer and clearer, and the sun came out! Thank God!
