Zongjiaolukhang Park is located behind the Potala Palace. Because there is a lake in the park, it is the best place to take pictures of the reflection of the Potala Palace. Zongjiao Lukang also has a long prayer path. Every day from early morning to dark, many Tibetan people come here with prayer wheels or Buddhist beads to pray and kowtow. From the White Pagoda to the park entrance, I walked along the prayer path, turning the prayer wheel with my sincerity.
Locals here turn around, chat, exercise, and sunbathe. They enjoy life in this back garden.
The park is quite large and it is very pleasant to take a walk. The elderly and children are here to chat and have fun. There are various water birds in the lake of the park, and the ecological environment is very good.
It is best to go and shoot in the morning when the lake is calm, so that you can capture clear reflections. In the afternoon when it is windy, the reflections will not be so obvious.
In Zongjiaolukang Park, I was shocked by the beautiful stainless steel sculptures, because its background is the Potala Palace standing on the top of the mountain. The Potala Palace is right in front of me. I walked into the park and saw the white palace on the cliff, which was holy and kind. The water birds in the park lake are very popular with my daughter. I bought a bag of bird food. We fed it by the lake for three minutes, and my daughter scattered it all. It was noon, and in Zongjiaolukang Park, there was still an endless stream of people circumambulating the Potala Palace for pilgrimage. Everyone relied on the faith in their hearts and firmly continued the life they chose.
Zongjiaolukang Park is open to the public free of charge. It has four gates: east, south, west and north. We entered from the north gate of Linkuo North Road and needed to go through security check. The Cogyegi Lake in the park is an artificial lake with clear water and quiet forest. It is the best place to take pictures of the reflection of the Potala Palace. There are various unknown water birds such as brown-headed gulls and bar-headed geese on the lake.
The environment here is quiet and peaceful, and it is also a good place for Lhasa citizens to relax. Every morning, people go for a walk, do morning exercises, turn the prayer wheels, play with their children, walk their dogs - it is very pleasant.
On one side of the park, Tibetans were turning prayer wheels clockwise outside several white pagodas. This is their daily routine.
This is a leisure park that is very popular among Lhasa citizens. The autumn scenery is very beautiful, with clear rivers and flying yellow leaves.
There are so many people on weekends, some reading quietly, some rowing boats, and some playing games.
The most interesting thing is the dancing. Here, square dancing is not just for the aunties. Many young people also join in, dancing to the beat, and everyone follows the same dance steps tacitly. There are more than one group of dancers, about 3 or 4 groups, each organized, competing with each other, and the different music blends together, but it doesn't feel chaotic. I also danced for a long time, and suddenly I felt that happiness can be so simple. This allowed me to temporarily cover up my scars.
Zongjiaolukhang Park is behind the Potala Palace. My mom and I had lunch nearby and then went into the park for a walk. To enter the park, you need to swipe your ID card to go through security check.
The park is not very big, just an ordinary urban park. If you ignore the Potala Palace and the Little White Pagoda next to it, it feels similar to Kunming's Cuihu Park, but the sky is bluer.
There were small bridges, lakes, basketball courts, and many people playing cards (it seemed like, because the huhe sounds sounded more like wrestling than playing cards). Because it was the Tibetan New Year, many people were dancing in a circle, which was very similar to Cuihu Park. However, Tibetan dances (or other ethnic dances) did seem more acceptable than some local square dances.
In winter, Cuihu Park is home to the famous Siberian red-billed gulls. There seem to be at least three kinds of flying birds here, including seagulls and two larger species that look like wild ducks.
Zongjiaolukhang Park, located behind the Potala Palace, can be said to be the "back garden" of the Potala Palace.
The atmosphere in the park is very relaxing. Not far away is the prayer wheel of the Potala Palace. Walking clockwise around the Potala Palace, you will have a different feeling, that is the power of faith, as you watch the Tibetans who come to make pilgrimages from all over the country, young and old, men and women, reciting scriptures and turning prayer wheels in their hands.
After visiting the square and the Potala Palace, we recommend that you go to Zongjiaolukhang Park behind the Potala Palace, where you can visit the Potala Palace from different angles and also enjoy the cultural and entertainment activities of Lhasa citizens.
A very local park, right at the foot of the Potala Palace. There is a large lawn in the park, and you can see the Potala Palace directly when you sit on the lawn, which is very beautiful. Local Tibetans like to rest on the lawn. There is a prayer wheel area in the park, and Tibetans come here every day to turn the prayer wheel.
In addition to the Potala Palace Square in front, the Zongjiaolukhang Park in the back is also a good place to photograph the night view. The calm water surface clearly reflects the shadow of the Potala Palace, which sets off each other in an interesting way. It is like seeing flowers in the fog. Why bother to be serious?
Zongjiao Lukang Park is located behind the Potala Palace, also known as "Longwangtan Park". "Zongjiao" means "behind the palace" in Tibetan (the palace refers to the Potala Palace), and "Lukang" means "Lu Temple". Lu Shen is a general term for gods living underground and in water in Tibetan Buddhism and Bon religion. "Lu Shen" is often translated into Chinese as "Dragon God", and then mistakenly translated as the Dragon King called by the Han people, so the lake in Zongjiao Lukang Park is called "Longwangtan" in Chinese. Let's briefly explain:
1. The North Gate is the best place to take photos. You can take bus No. 2, 6, 7, 13, 14, 16, 22, 25, or 35 and get off at Longwangtan North Gate Station. The East Gate is the main entrance. You can take bus No. 1, 4, 12, 13, 20, 25, or 28 and get off at the Civil Aviation Administration Station and walk north.
2. The park is completely free. During the day, a large number of Tibetans will circumambulate and pray. In the early morning and evening, a group of Tibetans will dance in the square, which is very lively. However, the park will be pitch black at night, so be careful when you go there.
3. You can take photos of the reflection of the Potala Palace in the water at the north gate of the park, which is the best place to check in in the entire park;
4. The South Gate of the park is the only access to the Potala Palace Square, but security personnel will check each person one by one.
After visiting the Potala Palace, we came to Zongjiaolukang Park. The park is free and it is a good place to take photos and check in.
A small attraction with a great location to see the back of the Potala Palace!
You can take photos of the back of the Potala Palace in Zongjiaolukang Park.
The Potala Palace is another great place to take photos, you must go!
When going from the courtyard where I live in Lhasa to the Potala Palace, I will pass Zongjiaolukhang, where the water is clear and the forest is quiet, the ancient willows are winding, and the blue waves are clear. It is a good place for people to relax.
It is also one of the three major panoramic viewpoints of the Potala Palace. If you haven’t taken a photo of the reflection of the Potala Palace here, wouldn’t it be like you haven’t been to Lhasa?
It is the best choice to see the reflection of the Potala Palace, and the environment of the park itself is also good.
After having a special Tibetan meal, we headed north, bypassed the Potala Palace, and went to Xinxue Village behind Zongjiaolukhang Park, where we checked into a hotel.
Zongjiaolukhang Park is located behind the Potala Palace. Because there is a lake in the park, it is the best place to take pictures of the reflection of the Potala Palace. It is also the favorite leisure place for Lhasa people. Drinking a cup of tea at the teahouse here, you can fully experience the leisure of Lhasa. There will also be Tibetan opera performances during festivals.
The foot of the mountain behind the Potala Palace is a good place to take pictures of the reflection of the Potala Palace.
After looking at all angles of the palace, I personally think that the artificial lake in Zongjiaolukang Park is the best place to appreciate the Potala Palace. The blue sky, white clouds, green shade, and reflections make the snow-covered temple beautiful and pure, like a dream.
Behind the Potala Palace, Zongjiaolukang Park is equivalent to the back garden of the Potala Palace. There are teahouses, lakes, migratory birds, and pagodas. There are Guozhuang dances in the sun and devout believers turning the prayer wheel. Here you can experience the slow life of Lhasa. Just quietly watching people coming and going, and letting your impetuous heart calm down a little, I think this is good.
Located behind the Potala Palace, it is a rare plateau garden with lakes, pavilions, woods, tourist boats and water birds playing on the lake, forming a perfect scenery.
Strolling around the lake and admiring the reflection of the Potala Palace in the water, you will feel like you are in a water town in the south of the Yangtze River.
This is a free leisure park with a small lake where you can row a boat.
On some special days, Zongjiaolukang Park is very lively~~
Looking from another direction at the Potala Palace, after 11 o'clock, many people were dancing inside.
The only drawback is that the lake is completely frozen.
It is the best place to take photos of the reflection of the Potala Palace, because there is a wide and long river in the park. It is also the favorite leisure place for Lhasa people. Drinking a cup of tea at the teahouse here, you can fully experience the leisure of Lhasa. In the morning, Tibetans dance square dances here, and there are Tibetan opera performances during festivals. It is recommended to come in the morning. The light is soft in the morning and you can clearly take photos of the reflection. The light becomes stronger at noon.
Just opposite the Potala Palace, you can see the reflection of the Potala Palace in the lake. There are also bar-headed geese in the lake in winter.
Zongjiaolukang Park is a park in Lhasa, Tibet Autonomous Region, located at the foot of the mountain east of the Potala Palace.
Zongjiaolukang Park is located in the back hill of the Potala Palace. When the Potala Palace was being built, a large amount of soil was taken from the back hill, and water accumulated to form a pond. Go clockwise from Zongjiaolukang Park back to the front of the Potala Palace.
Zongjiao Kanglu Park, the back garden of the Potala Palace, is worth a visit
Located behind the Potala Mountain, it is an open park with rich vegetation, bridges, water and elegant environment. Many locals relax in the park, playing chess, dancing and boating.
The former royal garden is now a paradise for the people
It is a great place to enjoy the autumn scenery. The scenery is picturesque, people and animals live in harmony, and it is a peaceful and tranquil place.
Located to the north of the Potala Palace, it is like a "back garden". Passing by here in the evening, it is quiet and comfortable, and you feel like you are part of local life.
Two special activities: ① Groups of middle-aged men and women playing Tibetan dice in a corner; ② "Gongzhuang" dance in the open space where men, women, old and young participate together.
The best location to take photos of the back of the Potala Palace, and the yellow ginkgo leaves are also very beautiful
I was sitting on a bench in the park and daydreaming, and many Tibetans pushing baby strollers passed by.
In Lhasa in early October, the leaves have already turned yellow.
I tasted a snack called Bazamaku (transliteration) in the greenhouse in the park.
The Tibetan girl serving the food told us that this is probably the most distinctive snack. The dough is wrapped in butter and sugar and fried. It looks a bit like the fried steamed buns in our Central Plains.
The "back garden" of the Potala Palace is a great place to take photos of the sunset and reflections. It's a great view and a great place to waste film.
The park is located behind the Potala Palace (on the north side), with the Potala Palace's back reflected in the water, a great place for photographers to take pictures. It is very beautiful when the weather is good. Recommended
Zongjiaolu Park is at the foot of the mountain behind the Potala Palace. Compared with the front of the Potala Palace printed on the fifty-yuan bill, the back has a lower exposure rate.
Actually, it is the back of the Potala Palace. You can take pictures of the reflection of the back of the Potala Palace on the water. The lake is just behind the Potala Palace. But it is best to go there early in the morning, because the water is relatively calm in the morning. At noon, the wind is strong, the water has ripples, and the reflection is not clear.
A place where you can take photos of reflections. There are huge seagulls and mandarin ducks in the lake. Although there is a sign prohibiting feeding, Tibetans still come to feed fish. The Shoton Festival has not yet ended, and there are still Tibetans dancing Tibetan dances in the park. At the entrance of the park, there is a circle in the dance floor and another circle in the pine forest outside the dance floor. Although it looks tight, it seems that there is no mutual influence. The dance with a strong sense of rhythm is orderly. Unconsciously, the whole team has turned a big circle, and the newcomers can always find an empty space to insert.
The shadows reflected in the lake, the blue sky and green trees, and the red and white exterior walls of the Potala Palace are perfect for watercolor painting.
This park is really quiet in the midst of noise. The noise outside the Potala Palace suddenly became very quiet and comfortable when I came in. I was lucky to see a rainbow here. I was very tired after coming in from the square. I felt very comfortable sitting here without talking. There are many green plants inside, rich in oxygen, and many Tibetans are dancing inside. You can join in. You can also take pictures of the reflection of the Potala Palace.
Behind the Potala Palace, there is a lake with trees and ducks in the middle of the lake.
The water in the pool was almost still, reflecting the same blue sky, white clouds and green trees.
The park is full of lush green trees, and in one corner there is a brightly colored pavilion with red pillars and green tiles, which looks quite royal. If it weren't for the occasional Tibetans turning prayer wheels passing by, I would have thought I had traveled to the imperial capital in an instant.
After dinner, we went to Zongjiaolukang Park, which is close to the hotel, for a walk. The back door of the Potala Palace is also very beautiful. There were also young Tibetan girls and boys dancing in the park, holding hands, forming a circle, and dancing together to the beat. The dance steps were not difficult, unlike the square dance in the mainland, which has a special person leading the dance and standardizing the movements. Their dance steps were different, but they all came from the joy in their hearts.
I went to take pictures of the reflection of the Potala Palace, but the lake was not calm. After taking the pictures, I walked out along the path. The park was full of people dancing in the square. The biggest difference is that there are more uncles dancing in the square in Lhasa than aunts.
Zongjiaolukhang is behind the Potala Palace. All the photos of the Potala Palace reflected in the water were taken from the direction of Zongjiaolukhang. This place with clear water and quiet forest, ancient willows and clear blue water is known as the famous garden in Lhasa.
In September, the park was full of blooming cosmos. I didn't know what it was called at the time, so I asked a local Tibetan friend, who told us it was called "Zhang Daren Flower". Legend has it that it was brought into Tibet by a Han Chinese minister named Zhang. Tibetans call all beautiful flowers Gesang flowers, but they only named it here.
When I went to Zongjiaolukhang Park in the afternoon, I also saw a Tibetan opera performance.
There is an artificial lake called Cogigi Lake in the garden. In summer, the water is clear and the forest is quiet, reflecting the entire Potala Palace. All the photos about the reflection of the Potala Palace were taken here. Although it is winter now, the lake water is not frozen and is still clear and bright. Groups of mandarin ducks are playing in the lake, as if it has returned to summer.
You can see the reflection of the Potala Palace. It is also a place where citizens often gather. If you want to experience the life of the neighborhood, you must come here.
The park is so big, I walked around for a long time. It seems that the locals don't have to go to work, the park is full of people strolling around, I saw many uncles playing a game similar to chess and cards, and when I walked further, I saw a group of young people dancing in a circle. I was envious.
Zongjiaolukang Park near the Potala Palace has a great view and you can see the Potala Palace from all angles.
Many Tibetans escaped the heat in the park. To be honest, I really admire the Tibetans. On a hot summer afternoon, groups of Tibetan compatriots (both men and women, young and old) danced happily in the shade.
Zongjiaolukhang Park is located behind the Potala Palace and has far fewer tourists than the front.
Zongjiaolukhang Park, also known as Longwangtan Park, is located behind the Potala Palace. Because there is a lake in the park, it is the best place to take pictures of the reflection of the Potala Palace. It is also the favorite leisure place for Lhasa people.
It is suitable for all ages and is very popular. It is quite similar to the style of Chengdu People's Park. There is a small lake in the park, where a group of red-billed gulls are playing. When you come to the big lake behind the Potala Palace, you can see the reflection of the Potala Palace, but you can still see its beauty.
This is a free park. You can enter by swiping your ID card at the security check. It is a good place for Lhasa citizens to do morning exercises and relax. The Kangding willows planted next to the lake are said to be saplings brought by Princess Wencheng. They are hundreds of years old. Walking in the green shade and admiring the reflection of the Potala Palace in the lake, breathing becomes smoother and more comfortable.
Zongjiaolukang Park is a park in Lhasa, located at the foot of the mountain on the east side of the Potala Palace. The reflection of the Potala Palace at night is very beautiful as the lights change.
Looking at the Potala Palace from this angle will give you a different experience. There is a lake here with many wild ducks wandering around. If the wind is calm, this is also a good place to take pictures of the reflection of the Potala Palace.
There are a lot of people in the park on weekends, dancing, drinking tea, chatting, and boating. It is very lively.
I came to this park just for a photo. I saw it online before and was immediately fascinated by the Potala Palace in the water. It is just behind the Potala Palace. I couldn't find the way and circled inside, but in fact this shooting point is at the north gate of the park, so the kids just go directly to the north gate. I am really satisfied with the effect of the photo, without any photoshop.
I wandered into this park, which is said to be the place where you can take photos of the reflection of the Potala Palace. However, there was wind on the water and it was not very calm.
Zongjiaolukhang Park is located behind the Potala Palace, where you can see the Potala Palace from different angles.
Because of the pond formed when the Potala Palace was built, it is also called Longwangtan Park. Many citizens will turn the sutras at the north gate of the park.
You need to go through security check before entering, and you can take better-looking photos here.
On a bright afternoon, local Tibetans came to Zongjiaolukang Park to chat, enjoy the cool air, and turn the prayer wheel. This is a good place to take pictures of the back of the Potala Palace. You can take pictures of the reflection of the Potala Palace. It is so comfortable to wander around the park when you have nothing to do.
The setting sun shines through the Potala Palace and pours down at the gate of Zongjiaolukhang Park, like the illumination of holy light, peaceful and tranquil.
Zongjiaolukang Park is my favorite place in Lhasa. I visited there for four of the five days I was in Lhasa. Zongjiaolukang gave me a very pleasant feeling. It is a gathering place for Tibetans to relax. In the morning, Tibetans will dance square dances in the square, and some will dance Tibetan dances. In the afternoon, Tibetans will gather together to play Tibetan dice, or bring a pot of sweet tea or butter tea, sit in a corner of the park, basking in the sun, feeling very comfortable.
There is a small lake in the park, where you can take beautiful photos of the reflection of the Potala Palace.
A park at the foot of the Potala Palace, where you can overlook the Potala Palace from afar and there is an artificial lake!
Zongjiao Lukang is located behind the Potala Mountain, with ancient willow trees planted beside the lake, creating a charming scenery. In Tibetan, "Zongjiao" means "behind the palace" (the palace refers to the Potala Palace), and "Lukang" means "the temple of the god of Lu (now translated as the god of Lu)".
Lushen is a general term used by Tibetan Buddhism and Bon religion to refer to a type of spirit that lives underground and in water. "Lushen" is often translated into Chinese as "Dragon God", which is then mistakenly translated as the Dragon King as the Han people call it. Therefore, the lake in Zongjiaolukang is commonly known as "Dragon King Pond" in Chinese.
Cogiji Lake is the main lake in Zongjiaolukang Park and is an artificial lake. Its water originally seeped from the ground and the water level was stable. Except for the water level rising on rainy days, the water depth was generally about 1.5 meters at other times. Later, the lake water was released artificially. Not far from the lake, there is a willow forest. Dozens of thick willow trees with hundreds of years of age are either tilted or twisted, with different postures. It is said that the scientific name of this willow is "Kangding Willow". The southwest corner of the park is the folk activity area. The hexagonal pavilion is the commanding height. A circular square will be opened around it in a clockwise direction. From the circular square, you can see an open gentle slope and another circular water-friendly square through the trees. The square is connected to the road in the gentle slope lawn opposite by a wooden arch bridge. Next to the square is a 30-meter-high columnar fountain, which has become the landscape commanding height of the scenic area. A circular forest square is planned in the woods in the northeast corner of the scenic area.
The locals' park, boating, picnicking, dancing, and the kind smiles of the Tibetans passing by make me feel warm every time I think of them.
2018-4-4
Last May, I walked down to the park after visiting the Potala Palace. This year, I booked the Delin Hotel (Potala Palace Branch) and walked about 1.5 kilometers. Today, the park is relatively quiet. It feels very different to walk in the park at the foot of the Potala Palace! I planned to wait until the lights in the park were turned on to take a reflection photo to make up for the regret of not taking photos last year. At about 8:30, it slowly became brighter from bottom to top!
The park is free and has become a good place for Tibetans to relax. At 17:23, I walked into the park. The security check in this park is confusing. It seems that there is no security check when entering the park, but only when leaving the park.
This is a good place for Tibetans to stroll and relax.
The most interesting thing in the park is that many Tibetans gather in a circle and dance to the high-pitched and powerful rhythm of Tibetan songs, turning left and right, and dancing non-stop. This is called Guozhuang dance, commonly known as Tibetan square dance. Men, women, young and old, Tibetan tourists all dance in circles there, forgetting all their worries, and their joy is beyond words.
