1. For self-driving tourists coming to Tekes from the direction of Nalati, please enjoy the nearly 20-kilometer winding mountain washboard road into the city. Please prepare yourself before going on the road. 2. Please drive directly to the Bulaq Ticket Station (i.e. the east gate of Kalajun) by car, and do not stay at the tourist center, which will save more time. 3. The entire grassland is divided into three parts: the Grand Canyon, East and West Kalajun. Travelers who do not want to see the canyon only need to buy tickets for East and West Kalajun. There is only one heritage hall in West Kalajun, and the attractions are mainly in East Kalajun. 4. The shuttle bus only stops at three stations: the Heritage Hall of West Kalajun, the Five-Colored Meadow and the Falcon Terrace in East Kalajun. Please be sure to walk to the end of the Falcon Terrace. The scenery is absolutely beyond imagination. There is also the option of horseback riding, but I personally think it is not worth it. 5. The roads in the scenic area are mainly winding mountain roads, and the road behind the five-color meadow is a gravel road. If you are uncomfortable, please bring your own motion sickness medicine. If you want to live in the scenic area, you can form a yurt and watch the stars at night.

The beautiful Koksu River in the Koksu Grand Canyon is winding, with steep cliffs and rugged terrain, forming natural landscapes such as Hukou Waterfall, Nine Bends and Eighteen Turns, Crocodile Bay, etc. It is surrounded by mountains, with overlapping mountains, the river in the valley is gentle, the waves are rippling, the river bay is lush with vegetation, the smoke from cooking and the light mist in the forest, and the herdsmen's yurts are dotted in between, creating a magnificent and charming canyon meadow scenery.

When buying tickets, I found out that the East and West scenic areas use a one-ticket system, where the entrance ticket and the interval ticket are purchased and used at the same time.

Both the East and West scenic areas are large, and there are many attractions in each area.

Although there are shuttle buses to various attractions, most of the attractions are still a little distance away from the shuttle bus stop and require 0.5-1 hour of walking to reach them.

Originally, my impression of Kalajun was that of a human grassland. It is the skin of the earth of Kalajun and also the scenery I have always admired the most.

The human body grassland is actually the hilly grassland of Xikalajun.

Although the ridges here are full of gullies, they are gently undulating, just like the soft curves of a woman's body. In the light and dark shadows of the evening, they show their enchanting and charming beauty.

Therefore, this hilly grassland is called "human grassland", and the locals also call it "nude island".

After listening to my description of the Kalajun human grassland, Xiao Ma said that he probably knew a place with such landform. Although he was not sure about the exact location, he could ask about it.

After seeking everyone's opinion, we turned the car around and headed back the way we came.

After walking back a short distance, we arrived at the place Xiao Ma mentioned.

The sun was setting at this moment, the sky had been dyed brown, the mountain ridges were rolling, and the light and shadows were distinct. Isn't this exactly the scenery we are looking for?

It is suitable for self-driving or signing up for a local one- or two-day tour. The itinerary is very tight because the scenic area is too large and there are many classic scenes. The spotted forest, crocodile bay, human body grassland and other scenes are too beautiful. The shuttle bus in the scenic area is relatively orderly, but the distance between the attractions is very far. Sometimes it takes an hour to reach the next attraction by car. Moreover, the weather in the scenic area changes very quickly. It may be sunny one second and rain heavily in the blink of an eye.

Kalajun is very, very large. We changed to the scenic area bus in Bulaq and drove for more than 40 minutes to reach the first stop, the Flower Terrace. We saw flocks of sheep on the way.

As the name suggests, there will be a lot of flowers in the Flower Terrace. However, we arrived a little early in the season and could only see a few scattered flower buds. However, we were still amazed by the vastness of the grassland here. Even if the sky was covered by dark clouds and the wind was cold, the endless green still made me feel excited and passionate that day. You can choose to ride a horse here. I have to say that Kalajun Flower Terrace, Falcon Terrace and Bayinbuluke are quite suitable for riding horses instead of walking. These two places are very vast and it takes more than an hour to walk and stop. It is quite unique and wonderful to experience riding a horse in such a landform environment. Not long after we walked up the wooden plank road, we met local people walking lambs. Later we learned that this is actually a way for them to make money. They charge for playing and taking pictures with lambs. Fortunately, we met a very simple local herdsman who let us play at will and never mentioned money after the end. After saying goodbye to the lamb, we continued to walk upwards and reached the highest point, where we had a close contact with the prairie. The grassland in Yili is different from that in Inner Mongolia. The grass here is not long. It is like a light layer of green spread on the ground as a carpet. Snow-capped mountains can be seen in the distance. The weather was indeed not good and foggy, but it did not stop me from taking pictures.

After leaving the Flower Terrace, our second stop was the Falcon Terrace. I originally thought that the two were similar, until I got to the end and saw the steep cliffs, the abyss, and the gullies covering an entire forest. I felt a combination of excitement and fear inside. I was a little afraid of the thrills of nature. After all, if I missed a step or fell forward, there would be no recovery. But I was also very happy to experience this magical and wonderful existence. It was so real without any rules or fences.

After coming down from the Falcon Tower, we also experienced the mobile bus-style toilet. It was a bit magical when I saw it for the first time. It was much better than the dry toilets that we had experienced many times along the way, which were just a pit. It was also relatively clean and you could wash your hands. The principle was similar to that of the ones on high-speed trains and airplanes.

For those who are going to Kalajun the next day, if you don’t want to experience horse riding or hiking across the Kalajun grassland, it is recommended not to come here as it is highly commercialized.

Kalajun is very big, divided into East and West Kalajun and Kuokesu Canyon Grassland. If you don't hike, you can take the shuttle bus to check in. Because we took the opposite route from most tourists who checked in at the scenic spots, there were only a few of us jumping around in the endless grassland from the east entrance to the flower platform in the first half of the journey~

It turns out that our hike was the right choice. We walked to the Flower Terrace and found that the so-called Flower Terrace was just a stop for the shuttle bus. There were no flowers there. Except for the aunties waving scarves and making scissors hands and having fun, most people were bored.

It was a sunny day. When we arrived at the scenic spot and saw the vast grassland, everyone couldn't help but get excited. They rode horses, took photos, and ran, wishing they could blend into the blue sky and green land.

There were a few Kazakh children, about the same age as Koko, who were holding a few lambs. They used the cuteness of the lambs to attract Koko to hold the lambs for 5 yuan. OK, deal! I took a photo of them.

The sightseeing bus stops at a scenic spot, allowing tourists to get off and visit the next scenic spot. The shuttle bus keeps shuttling between the various scenic spots.

The first attraction to stop at is the Military Horse Farm. This place has a long history of military horse training and breeding. In the past, there must have been military horses all over the mountains and fields. Every time they moved to the field, thousands of horses galloped like lightning and wind!

The second scenic spot is the flower terrace. It takes about 10 to 20 minutes to walk up the winding wooden plank road to the top of the lawn. When you reach the top of the mountain, you will see a large flat grassland, herds of cattle and sheep, dense pine forests, snow-capped mountains in the distance, and blue sky and white clouds. It is really refreshing!

After going down the mountain from the Flower Terrace, take the sightseeing bus for another 20 minutes to the third parking spot, called Falcon Terrace. After getting off the bus, head towards the Kurdai scenic spot. It is about five or six kilometers away from the parking spot. There are wooden plank roads all the way. You can also pay to ride a horse.

Our first trip was to Nalati, after all, it is famous. We asked 6 groups of people along the way, all of whom were locals or people from Yining or Urumqi who had been to both places, and they all suggested that we go to Karajun instead of Nalati. In the end, we chose Karajun. We went to Karajun Prairie, Xiata Prairie, and drove through Tanggula Prairie. My suggestion is that you don’t have to go to Xiata. Choose Karajun and Tanggula. There is no need to compare Karajun, which is a scenery worth seeing.

The car needs to be parked in the scenic area parking lot. The car fare plus the scenic area ticket fee is more than 300 per person. The Karajun Prairie is divided into two parts, the Koksu Grand Canyon and the East-West Prairie. After entering the scenic area, just follow the scenic area's car, speedboat, and follow the scenic area map to visit. If you want to play in both areas, you can divide it into two days. To visit two areas in one day, you need to enter the scenic area early in the morning to start the tour. The prices of mutton skewers and big plate chicken sold by herdsmen in the scenic area are quite good. Mutton skewers are 5 yuan per string, and big plate chicken is 120 yuan. You can also book the herdsmen's yurts inside, which are about 200-250 per yurt, which can accommodate 6-8 people or more.

There are two routes to visit Kalajun Grassland, one is East Kalajun Scenic Area, and the other is Kuokesu Grand Canyon Scenic Area. We bought a panoramic ticket that allows us to visit both routes. At noon, the scenic area provides free fast food. The core attraction of Kalajun Grassland is the human body grassland. A large number of photography enthusiasts crowded the opposite hillside, waiting for the moment when the light was the most beautiful. Brother Dazi and I were of course one of them.

When we reach the depths of the Kalajun grassland, we see the misty Tianshan Mountains in the distance.

In this situation, my companions and I almost thought at the same time: If we commit any crime at home, we can hide here, herd horses in Tianshan Mountain, and then die of old age surrounded by mountains...

Suddenly, deep in my heart, I felt somewhat regretful that I was not a fugitive.

The weather is not very good. If it were blue sky with white clouds and bright sunshine, I wonder how beautiful this place would be.

I lingered there for about 2 hours. Although I was a little reluctant to leave, I knew in my heart that I would definitely come back to this place.

It is divided into East and West Kalajun. The first visitor center is for buying tickets for East, West Kalajun and the Grand Canyon. If you only want to see the grassland, you need to continue about 15 kilometers to the next visitor center to buy tickets and enter. We are not interested in canyon cruises like reservoirs, so we drove directly to the second visitor center. This section belongs to the scenic road, and two-thirds of the more than ten kilometers are under road construction. At the second visitor center, park the car outside the scenic area and ask the ticket office about the accommodation in the scenic area. They said that there is no need to book in advance, and there are many herdsmen's yurts and felt houses to live in. We sorted out a large box of thick clothes and toiletries and transferred to the bus to enter the scenic area. The bus coiled up along the mountain road. After entering the alpine grassland, the slope gradually slowed down. We galloped on the mountain grassland. The whole way was full of rolling grasslands that could not be seen at a glance, and the sky was lined with snow peaks. From a distance, there seemed to be a deep valley between the grassland and the snow peaks. Vast and magnificent!

The next morning, while my father and baby were still asleep, my husband and I went up the mountain again. There were no tourists, only him and I. Unlike last night, the sun rose from behind the mountain, and the shadows of the trees and the ditches on the gentle slopes drew long and undulating lines under the clear light that was almost horizontal, like a five-line score drawn on the earth, and the yurts, cattle, sheep, and horses were the notes jumping on the five-line score, playing the first morning song of the grassland in this boundless world.

Standing quietly on the grassland under the morning sun, roosters crowed, cows and sheep nibbled the grass happily, the sound of horse hooves could be heard, fine horses galloped past, and eagles circled in the sky... We listened attentively to this symphony that belonged only to us, and were so engrossed in it that we did not even notice the way home.

The light in the evening was very soft, so I took my camera out for a walk. In fact, the area around the station was beautiful, and there was really no need to go into the scenic area. I remembered the sheep on the ranch in foreign movies. When they bleated, they looked like they were laughing. We continued with the mutton dinner in the evening. After dinner, as soon as I went out, I saw the gorgeous sunset. The accommodation conditions were not very good, but as soon as I opened the door and saw this scene, I thought of the phrase - feed horses, chop firewood, and travel around the world.

There are many kinds of tickets when we arrived at Kalajun, so we bought a combination ticket for Kalajun.

Because to get to Kalajun, you have to take the luggage from the car, then walk to the ticket office, and then take the eco-friendly car. The next day, you have to take the luggage with you. So, you can only wear hiking shoes on the road. By the way, if you wear high heels, it should be more suitable. And, on the last day, we went to the market in Turpan. There are very beautiful and affordable Uyghur costumes, that is, red long skirts and hats with small braids. I should have matched a set earlier, such as the first day of arriving in Urumqi, and then take it to the beautiful scenery of the snow-capped mountains and grasslands. It would be perfect. I found that Kalajun is definitely a good place to take portraits, although I can't take them myself. I think it is not inferior to the Alps at all. It can be said that Switzerland is a small Xinjiang.

The territory on the grassland is divided by fences, which naturally forms the territory of each herdsman. It is still fashionable to rent out winter nests or felt houses as pastoral homestays, which may be a landscape only available in scenic spots. Later, we saw the most beautiful sunset on the grassland. The sun was blocked by large dark clouds, leaving only a crack, a light red, and very warm. At the same time, the sunset light and shadow hit the grassland, forming layers of light and shadow. The last sunset was so gorgeous. My friends all went to the hillside, and I was the only one in the valley. There is another story here. I was alone waiting for the sun to set, and there was no sound of the wind in my ears. The silence at this moment contrasted the sound of the telephoto lens Xiaobai hitting the ground, which seemed so harsh. Fortunately, the camera bag National Geographic blocked it and did not let the equipment roll into the valley.

It did not disappoint us. Compared with Nalati, Kalajun is more majestic and we have more freedom in it. The end of the scenic area shuttle bus has activities such as eating and riding horses. It takes a long way to go back and forth between the scenic spots, so riding a horse is a good choice. Riding a horse and strolling under such scenery, it is hard to believe that this is in the real world.

After entering the scenic area, we were stopped to buy a ticket, which was tragic because we had to go to a faraway flower stand. The big brother who arrested us asked us to take someone with him (equivalent to a hostage), so I went. It felt so good to ride on a motorcycle and gallop across the grassland... Hahahahahaha, there are not so many flowers in Kalajun. It is still very beautiful compared to the places we have been to, but the flowers have already bloomed in this season.

There are many barbed wire fences on the entire Kalajun grassland because of the scenic area and herdsmen, so it is questionable whether it is still possible to cross it. However, there is definitely no problem walking from Qiongkushitai to Kalajun grassland; conversely, there is no problem from Tarim to Kalajun grassland.

Kalajun Grassland, located in Tekes County, Yili, Xinjiang, means "black, fertile and vast wilderness" in Kazakh. It is the location of the "Khan Grassland", the largest horse racing field in ancient China, and the summer capital of Wusun in the Western Regions. Snow-capped mountains, forests, grasslands, and sea of flowers are absolutely beautiful. The Kazakh herdsmen living here maintain their traditional nomadic customs, and every year 200,000 livestock are transferred here to escape the summer heat. "Transfer" means to transfer pastures for livestock in an orderly manner according to the growth cycle of forage grass. It is a process of rotational grazing that is carried out 3 or 4 times a year according to the season.

The essence of Kalajun Prairie is mainly concentrated in the East Kalajun area. There are famous scenic spots such as Wuhua Meadow, Flower Terrace, Kuldai Forest Grand Canyon, Falcon Terrace, etc. There are both snow-capped mountains, grassland scenery, and forest canyons. The scenery is diverse and very beautiful. The scenic area cannot be driven by car, and can only be visited by shuttle bus, like Nalati Prairie, one stop at a time. We mainly visited Wuhua Meadow and Flower Terrace, and took a sightseeing bus to get off at the Falcon Terrace station. One trail leads to Kuldai Forest Grand Canyon, and one trail leads to Falcon Terrace. We need to walk there. Because it was very cold in the heavy rain, we had to give up.

After walking around this scenic spot for nearly an hour, we took a car to the last scenic spot of Kalajun Grassland, Falcon Terrace. After getting off the parking lot, you have to walk along the paved plank road to reach the viewing platform. To be honest, the sun was shining directly on our heads, and we were so exhausted from walking on this plank road that we couldn't see the end. We wanted to give up several times, but when we saw the tourists returning in front of us, we persisted and asked the returning tourists. They all said it was worth going forward, so we strengthened our confidence to go on. It really took more than half an hour to walk to the cliff, and the scenery in front suddenly opened up. Across a canyon, you can see the snow-capped spruce of the Zhongtian Mountains opposite and the mountain grassland complementing each other, and the canyon in the middle is the Kurdai Forest Canyon. This scenery can be described as stunning!

The scenery along the way is no less than that along the Duku Highway. There are rivers, mountain grasslands, forests and snow-capped mountains along the way. It is really equivalent to the scenery seen in the Kalajun Prairie by self-driving and walking again in person. Once again verified the truth that the most beautiful scenery is always on the road!

Kalajun Prairie Scenic Area, the transportation and service of the scenic area are really worth complaining about. You need to get a paper ticket when entering the park, and then queue up to enter the park. I queued outside for more than an hour before entering the scenic area. Later, I felt that the reason for queuing so long was that there were not enough buses in the scenic area. When I first entered the door, I gave Kalajun a negative score in my heart.



But! But! But!!! The 6km hike from Flower Terrace to Falcon Terrace in mid-to-late June was so beautiful!!! It was so beautiful that I was amazed all the way!!!

I even feel that it is difficult for other scenic spots in Xinjiang to compare with it.

This section of the trail is called "Flower Valley", which shows that if you come here in the right season, you will see beautiful flowers everywhere. Mid-June is the time when flowers bloom. On a sunny day, hiking and looking at the snow-capped mountains in the distance is definitely a feast for the eyes.

We originally planned to buy tickets on Ctrip in advance to avoid queuing on site, which could save some time, but we couldn't avoid it. The distance between the visitor center and the scenic area of Kalajun Grassland is really far. We recommend the Flower Terrace (the second stop of the interval bus) and the Falcon Terrace (the third stop of the interval bus, which is the terminal). You can ride a horse (or walk 4km back and forth) from the Falcon Terrace to the Kuldai Grand Canyon (few people, beautiful scenery, and film-making); horse riding 80/h/person.

Kalajun Grassland is also a grassland I found by chance. I originally planned to go to Nalati Grassland, after all, it has such a popular grassland legend and beautiful scenery. But when I heard about its popularity, I immediately lost interest, and then I found Kalajun, which is said to be no worse than Nalati. So I went to this grassland by the way. As a result, I also came across the Tekes Bagua City by the way.

The various Tekes ads on the road never reminded me of the Bagua City, which is absolutely well-known in Xinjiang. I thought it was a man-made attraction. As a result, when I came back from Kalajun, I accidentally looked at the navigation and suddenly found that it was really a Bagua City. After reading the information, I found that this was the only Bagua City in China. I immediately turned into the city and walked on the streets of the ancient city without traffic lights. The remaining time was tight, so I could only experience the gossip of Bagua City.

Take the cable car from the Koksu Grand Canyon to the Kalajun Prairie, then take the shuttle bus to the Falcon Terrace or the Flower Terrace, and leave the scenic area from the Kalajun East Gate.

The entire Kalajun includes the East Kalajun Scenic Area, the West Kalajun Scenic Area, the Kuokesu Grand Canyon Scenic Area, the Zhongtianshan Snow Peak Scenic Area and the Tianlai Forest Scenic Area. However, tourists generally go to the first three scenic areas, and the East and West Kalajun Scenic Areas are actually one scenic area, now called the Kalajun Prairie.

In addition to the visitor center (main gate), there is also a Bulaq ticket station (east gate) 14 kilometers east of the visitor center. In addition, there is a gate to the Koksu Grand Canyon on the south side of the Koksu Grand Canyon, which is generally called the South Gate or the Back Gate, but it is said to have been closed.

You can choose one of the two scenic spots, the Prairie and the Grand Canyon. The Prairie is 140 yuan/person, including transportation and tickets within the Prairie scenic area; the Grand Canyon is 155 yuan/person, including transportation and tickets within the Grand Canyon scenic area. But I strongly recommend going to both scenic spots! In this way, you should buy a full-area tour package = Prairie ticket 60 + Grand Canyon ticket 35 + full-area bus ticket 110 + cableway ticket 30 + Kalajun Lake cruise ticket 40 = 275 yuan.

According to other people's guides, if you drive by yourself, you should not stay at the visitor center, but stop at the Bulaq Ticket Station, which saves more time. If so, after you finish touring the Grand Canyon, you can't go to the pier to take a boat back to the visitor center, but take the cable car back to the prairie scenic area, and then take the sightseeing bus back to the Bulaq Ticket Station at the cable car station. The question is, first, is the 30 yuan cable car ticket a round-trip ticket? It's not clear; second, is there a sightseeing bus back to the Bulaq Ticket Station at the cable car station? It's not clear. Therefore, if you travel all over the region, it's better to stop at the visitor center, because this has been proven by our practice. Of course, if you only visit the prairie, you must stop at the Bulaq Ticket Station. If you only visit the Grand Canyon, you can only stop at the visitor center.

After crossing the pass, the view suddenly became wider and the road became flatter. The altitude is more than 2,500 meters.

The sightseeing bus only stops at 3 stations, namely Shiquan, Xianhuatai and Falcontai. The first station used to be the World Heritage Museum, which was generally considered boring. I guess the scenic spot has improved. In addition, during the peak season, everyone has to get off at a station, visit some attractions, and then transfer to the next station. The management of the scenic spot is quite standardized and scientific!

The first stop, Shiquan, was not very interesting to us, so we directly transferred to the local train to Xianhuatai.

The scenic area is really big. It took almost an hour to get from the visitor center to the second stop, the Flower Terrace.

The main purpose of the Flower Terrace is to visit the Five-Flower Meadow. It takes about ten minutes to climb up from the plank road to the viewing platform above. The playing time at the Flower Terrace is half an hour to one hour.

After that, transfer to the shuttle bus to the last stop, Falcon Terrace. After about 20 minutes, the shuttle bus arrived at the final stop, Falcon Terrace. It takes about half an hour to walk along this plank road. You must be patient to walk to the end, the surprise is at the end, otherwise you will come in vain! The Zhongtianshan Snow Mountain Spruce opposite the Falcon Terrace and the mountain grassland complement each other, the scenery can be described as stunning!

I took my kids to Kalajun and booked a Kazakh yurt. It was really cold at night in this season, and the environment of the yurt was not comparable to that of a hotel, but the cost performance of living in the scenic area was still very high. The food in the herdsmen's home was also delicious and cheap. The key was that the herdsmen were very enthusiastic. The place we were taken to by horseback riding was definitely the most beautiful place in Kalajun, far exceeding the place where the scenic bus went, and the price of horseback riding was also very reasonable. We left a little early, so we didn't see the flowers in full bloom in Kalajun, which was a bit regrettable. But the scenery of Falcon Terrace is quite good, and I recommend horseback riding here.

Kalajun grassland is very large and will be even more beautiful if you go there later.

If you hike here from Qiongkushitai, the scenery will be better than Kalajun Grassland, but it is easy to get aesthetically fatigued, and the professional quality of the scenic area staff needs to be improved.

The scenery in West Kalajun is average and relatively simple, but if the weather is good in East Kalajun, the scenery at Flower Terrace and Falcon Terrace is still very beautiful.

Kalajun is very beautiful. The reason why I said it was not a good experience was, on the one hand, the management of the scenic area, and on the other hand, we encountered heavy rain not long after entering the scenic area.

After looking at the grassland for several days in a row, someone said that I have become visually fatigued!

In short, it seems that everyone is not very interested in Kalajun.

It's worth a visit, and it's best to reserve two days to play there. The grassland is huge, with rich and varied terrain, grass, flowers, snow-capped mountains, blue sky and white clouds - all kinds of beauty!

Kalajun is famous for its graceful lines and is known as the most beautiful human grassland. The light and shadow in the evening and the wild flowers in summer are all very beautiful!

Kalajun, the tickets for domestic scenic spots are really too expensive. I personally think that Kalajun is not worth so much money. For 16 years, I have been hiking from Qiongkushitai to Kalajun and living in the homes of herdsmen on the grassland in the scenic area. This year, the price of yurts has increased a lot.

The Kalajun grassland in October has already turned yellow, which is really a pity. However, the Kalajun scenic area not only has grasslands, but also canyons, crocodile bays and other attractions, which are very spectacular. To enter Kalajun, you need to take a yacht and then take a shuttle bus. When you take a yacht on Kalajun Lake, you feel very comfortable. In summer, you must come to Kalajun to experience its grasslands and wild flowers. Its wooden plank road is also very distinctive, and it looks like a "sky road" from a distance. Kalajun is past its most beautiful time, but Kalajun in October is also very beautiful.

It takes about an hour to drive from Tekes to Kalajun. The road condition is average. You will pass a small village on the way. You are almost there when you see the checkpoint. Before buying tickets at the scenic spot, you will see a tourist center. In fact, you can also park your car here. There are shuttle buses going there, but we drove directly to the ticket point on the mountain. There are also shuttle buses that take you directly here on the return trip. There are two types of tickets: a panoramic tour with a tour time of more than 7 hours. We chose the half-distance tour. It turned out that we really couldn’t play that much. The half-distance ticket already has enough scenery for you to visit, and it is worth the money, with beautiful scenery.

There are horse riding projects on the grassland that need to be rented, and you can ride all the way to the deepest part of the grassland

The road paved with small wooden planks is a unique sight. There are still piles of unmelted snow on both sides of the road. It was not too cold that day, and the weather was average. It felt quite comfortable...

There are shuttle buses from the scenic area to pick you up along the way. There are three sightseeing spots in total. Tourists will be asked to get off at each place to stroll around and take pictures. On the grassland, you can see the Tianshan Mountains in the distance, as well as the yellow and purple flowers blooming all over the mountains. The scenery is pleasant and spectacular, which makes people feel relaxed and happy. Everyone just lay on the ground, quietly looking up at the sky, and spent a wonderful afternoon very comfortably. Before we knew it, it was already evening, but the sky was still bright, and the area was not cleared until after 8 o'clock in the evening.

The crisscrossing gullies and the masculine beauty are unique to the grasslands of Xinjiang. Countless gullies cut vertically on the plateau, outlining the peaceful grassland like waves in the sea. This is part of the Kalajun grassland.

It's a rip off. I bought a panoramic ticket for 345 yuan. The grassland was bare and the beauty's waist was not like in the painting. The contrast was too big. There was nothing to see in the Koksu Canyon. The scenery of the East and West grasslands was also average. It was completely based on luck. If the weather was bad, the scenery would be bad. However, we stayed on the grassland for one night. Four people contracted a mountain. The scenery there was much better than Kalajun.

Compared with Nalati Grassland, Kalajun Grassland is not a popular tourist attraction, so there are not many people. And precisely because there are not many people, you can fully experience the quiet and tranquility.

Tickets are required for the scenic spot, and there is a parking lot at the entrance. There is a shuttle bus when you enter the scenic spot, which can take you to various attractions in turn.

Kalajun Prairie is a natural pasture with fertile land, abundant grass and pleasant climate. Cattle, horses and sheep can all grow fat and strong here. Due to its huge area, the scenic area is divided into two parts, east and west, with slightly different landscapes. It is impossible to see it all in one day. We chose the east part and went straight to the end of the shuttle bus. When we got off the bus, we saw the endless grassland, which was refreshing.

In the distance are the majestic Tianshan Mountains, which, together with the prairie, form distinct layers.

Some tourists chose horseback riding, but we chose hiking. However, this area is actually very large, and hiking requires a lot of walking, plus the altitude is high, more than 2,000 meters, so it is a test of physical strength.

The high altitude makes the Kalajun grassland full of cliffs and deep valleys, which is quite spectacular. However, you still need to pay attention to safety, because the cliffs here are the same as the Anjihai Grand Canyon, without any protective facilities.

The sun was setting, and we were ready to get back on the shuttle bus to end our trip to the Kalajun grassland. The shepherds were also driving their sheep home, and the sheep lined up in a row looked particularly cute.

Thanks to the rain in the evening, Kalajun was filled with fresh green the next morning. I was glad that I chose to stay in a herdsman’s home so that I could experience the beauty of Kalajun.

Wind blows Kalajun

Karajun, which means black wilderness in Kazakh, can only feel the power of the wilderness when you are there in person. Grassland, hills, snow-capped mountains, spruce, canyon and river, these six natural forces merge into a whistling gale, blowing across the grassland, over the hills, shaking the snow-capped mountains, swaying the spruce, howling in the canyon, stirring the river. The wind is so strong that it can blow a girl's breasts from A cup to C cup, and so strong that it can blow a boy's breasts from 14 cm to 18 cm. During the 10 hours in Karajun, I was wrapped in a double layer of face mask and taking double doses of methylcobalamin and kept roaring in the wind. I hate blow job.

Except for the crocodile's mouth, the rest of the place seems to be wandering, too unruly, as if it has arrived in the unfriendly Middle Eastern country.

After the Tianshan Mountains, there is no more grassland

Kalajun Grassland perfectly illustrates what is a grassland in the sky, with blue sky and white clouds, snow-capped mountains and forests, as well as undulating human grasslands, mountains full of cattle and sheep, and green grass. Once you have been to Kalajun, nothing else can be called a grassland.

I can ride horses now. I am excited just thinking about it. The wind on the grassland is very strong. We all put on jackets. Riding horses in Kalajun is more vast than in Hemu.

There are two scenic spots in Kalajun Prairie, simply put, the canyon and the grassland. If you buy a Kalajun combined ticket, the ticket includes the scenic area's eco-friendly car, cruise ship, and cable car, which is still very cost-effective.

When you arrive at the Kalajun grassland, you will see endless blue sky, white clouds, snow-capped mountains, coniferous forests and grasslands. Occasionally you will see some cattle and sheep, which will satisfy all your imaginations of the western grasslands.

It is recommended to choose Kalajun for horse riding. A round trip from the horse farm to Eagle's Beak costs 100 yuan, which is great value for money.

Kalajun Grassland is actually divided into two parts, the grassland and the canyon. In September, there are no flowers on the flower stand, so it is a pit to see the grassland, so I don’t recommend going there. The grasslands in Xinjiang are actually similar. If you want to see both the grassland and the canyon, choose Kalajun.

I feel that the 170 RMB ticket to Kalajun Grassland is really not worth it. There are only three places: 1. The pasture, 2. The flower platform without flowers, 3. The falcon platform, nothing special to see, but the scenery is wider. The only good point is the falcon platform, you can really see eagles flying, but there are more in Nalati.

It is recommended to watch the sunrise in the morning because the sunset in the afternoon is too backlit.

It costs 10 yuan to ride a horse on the mountain, 30 yuan to ride on the mountainside, 80 yuan to ride at the foot of the mountain, and 260 yuan for a Ferghana horse. The higher you go, the cheaper it is.

The first time I saw the grassland, I was very excited and thought the scenery was beautiful everywhere.

The Kazakhs live mainly in the Kalajun grassland. The scenic area is very large. It takes 2-3 days to play all the way. The ticket is valid for two days. There are yurts in the scenic area. If you want to play East and West Kalajun, you need to navigate to the Bulaq Gate to enter. The gate of the Kalajun Visitor Center is the main gate to enter the Grand Canyon River Rafting. There are many yurts run by herders in the scenic area. No reservation is required. There are soliciting customers at the door; or you can find them when you go in. The yurt you stay in is actually a big bunk bed. Due to the weather, the farmhouses on the grassland are open for only four months a year. Generally, several households occupy the land and jointly operate it. There is an open-air kitchen between heaven and earth. Water on the grassland is precious. Water for washing hands may be taken nearby. Although the grassland is so large, you can hardly see the pool of water. The water and vegetables for cooking must be transported from outside.

The yurt accommodation is not expensive, about 200-300 yuan per person depending on the size. The grassland is rich in sheep, but the mutton is expensive (raw mutton is 130 yuan per kilogram). The total cost of our stay, dinner and breakfast for six people is 750 yuan. I only experienced the yurt once, and I don't want to have a second time. After all, it is inconvenient. The blooming of flowers on the grasslands in Xinjiang is seasonal. It is okay to see green in summer, but you have to see all kinds of seasonal flowers at the right time. The so-called Flower Terrace is more attractive because of the snow-capped mountains in the distance. The Kazakhs use eagles to hunt, and now the eagles can only be used as props for taking photos in the scenic area. The road to the Grand Canyon is purely a road trampled on the grassland. It is not easy to walk when it rains or after rain. The road to the Falcon Terrace is a plastic plank road that is easy to walk. No matter which scenic spot you go to, please do it according to your ability. It takes about 1.5-2 hours to walk back and forth to each scenic spot. Of course, riding a horse can save energy and time, but the cost is 60 yuan per hour.

Every year from late May to early June, this place is a sea of flowers. The colorful sea of flowers rolls up like waves along the grassland, and the cattle and sheep graze in the sea of flowers, which is beautiful. Unfortunately, due to the season, it was the end of June when we came, and there were only a few flowers scattered among the grass, no longer conspicuous. But even so, the first visit to the grassland was still a surprise. When the scenic spot shuttle bus stopped at the last stop, Falcon Terrace, the grassland in front of me was undulating like waves, and the snow-capped mountains were at the end of the grassland that could not be seen. You know, this is just the beginning.

Like Sailimu Lake, most of the time you spend on the scenic area bus, which only stops at a few spots for tourists to visit. The scenic area is still very large. But the pitfall is that you bought tickets for Xikalajun, and the scenic spots such as Yikesong in the scenic area can only be seen on the bus, which is a pitfall.

The horses on the grassland are raised by herders for tourists to ride. When there are no tourists, the employees tie the three legs of the horses with a rope after get off work to prevent the horses from running around. It is said that this will prevent them from getting lost.

It's very big and beautiful, but it's a pity that it's a little late and the grass has turned yellow. I'll come again in the summer to see the green grassland.

In Kazakh, Karajun grassland means "rich, vast and dense", which is a true portrayal of the vast grassland here.

The view is wide and backed by majestic snow-capped mountains. It is difficult to see such a wonderful sight of snow-capped mountains and grasslands in the eastern part of the country.

The size of Kalajun Grassland can be seen from the time it takes to take a sightseeing bus.

I was so sleepy on the sightseeing bus that I finally arrived at the first stop of Kalajun Scenic Area - Wuhua Meadow.

I liked the feeling of vastness that seemed to stretch as far as the eye could see. After getting off the bus, I had a great time and let myself go on the grassland.

The horseback riders were led by local people who did not speak Chinese and communicated through exaggerated expressions and gestures along the way.

Most of the time, I express my surprise and fear by shouting and exclaiming, and I think you can understand me.



I rode the pony all the way to the end of the road. There was a cliff ahead, and the horseman behind me signaled to me that it was time to get off.

The scenery in front of us is enough to surprise us. The mountains in the distance are covered with white snow, and the clouds dot the sky like cotton candy.

In fact, because it was too sunny that day, I was wearing sunglasses and didn’t realize how lovely the sky was until I looked back at the photos.

Another round of madness, and then it reached the other end.

This journey is like we are traveling to different ends of the world, with surprising scenes at each end.

The endless grassland is very beautiful under the blue sky and white clouds! The Kalajun Mountains are covered with green, the grassland is dotted with mountain flowers, red, yellow and self-colored, and cattle and sheep are walking on the grassland. The scenery is beautiful. Feel the beauty of nature, take pictures and play as much as you want.

Kalajun is very large and relatively primitive, with two routes. We only played one of them: East and West Kalajun.

Kalajun is located in Tekes County, also known as the famous Bagua City, and is mainly a pasture for Kazakhs. It consists of the Koksu Grand Canyon and East and West Kalajun. Although the weather was not good that day, it could not hide the shock brought by the beautiful scenery, and also allowed us to experience the grassland scenes in different weather. After entering the scenic area and getting the tickets, we first went around the mountain, which was steeper than Nalati, and the endless meadows at an altitude of more than 1,000 came into view, like another world.

Coming from Qiongkushitai, you enter from East Kalajun and exit from West Kalajun. Kalajun is the biggest surprise of our trip, but also the biggest regret. It's a pity that we couldn't stay there for a few more days or even one night, but what's wrong with leaving some regrets? Later, I saw the starry sky photos sent by my friends who stayed in Kalajun, which were really beautiful!

Get up early and go to Kalajun Prairie. Kalajun has two scenic spots: one is to visit the reservoir and the other is to visit the grassland. Everyone must pay attention to the signposts, otherwise it is very easy to get confused. The entrance to the reservoir is the Kalajun Tourist Service Center. Kalajun occasionally has heavy fog and rain in summer, so all the attractions are easy to be invisible. Everyone should pay close attention to the weather forecast and make plans.

It is not far from Tekes to the Kalajun Grassland Tourist Center, but after arriving at Kalajun Grassland, you still need to change to the scenic bus, which takes longer than the journey from Tekes to Kalajun.

The first attraction we visited after getting off the scenic bus was the Falcon Terrace. This location is relatively high. It is said that this was once a place where the Kazakhs hunted eagles. However, we didn't see many eagles at that time.

After visiting Crocodile Bay, you will need to take a car and walk along a long plank road. Along the way, you can enjoy the alternating scenery of grassland and desert. There is no tree on this road, so you must wear sunscreen along the way.

Maybe the wind in Kalajun is very strong, so their trash cans are embedded in the ground, but I am curious whether it is very troublesome for them to take out the trash? When you walk to the end, you can see the twists and turns of the Grand Canyon. After seeing the Kuokesu Grand Canyon, you need to take a boat out of the scenic area. This section is a reservoir with very clear water, which is said to be the local drinking water source. I took a speedboat and arrived at the entrance of the scenic area in a few minutes.

In fact, Kalajun is divided into East Kalajun, West Kalajun and Kushqiongtai and other scenic spots, which can be visited for three or four days. This time we went to East Kalajun, which is mainly alpine grasslands and canyons. The main attractions are Flower Terrace, Falcon Terrace, and Grand Canyon).

When we got to the grassland, we naturally had to ride horses, so we chose the route to the Grand Canyon (200 yuan/person, about 1.5 hours, round trip)

The entire scenic area trip takes about 5 hours

Take the scenic area bus from the Bulaq ticket station. The first stop is Wuhuatai. It takes 15 minutes to walk from the parking point to the viewing point. This spot is very beautiful when the weather is good. It is full of purple flowers. The slope is full of flowers and is also the most famous scenic spot. The second stop is the terminal Falcon Terrace. There are 4 hiking routes to the viewing platform at the Falcon Terrace parking point: one is 2.2 kilometers long and goes to the three-level Yi viewing platform, one is 1.1 kilometers long, suitable for the elderly and children to see the grassland along the way, and go to the Falcon Terrace viewing platform, and the other is 3.2 kilometers long. The end point is also Falcon Terrace, but you can see the canyon along the way. The last one is in another direction, going to Kurdai to see the canyon, which is relatively less crowded. There was a lack of sunshine that day, and the temperature in the scenic area was relatively low. At the end of July, the flowers on Wuhuatai were basically all withered, the sky was gloomy, and the scenery was greatly reduced. At Falcon Terrace, you can see that there should be snow-capped mountains in the distance, but they are all blocked by thick clouds. Various flowers are still blooming on the grass. If there are blue skies and white clouds, the scenery will definitely be beautiful.

If you only visit the prairie, you can take a car to visit the West Kalajun Prairie all the way. You only stop at three stops in the East Kalajun Scenic Area: Wusun Summer Capital, Flower Terrace, and Falcon Terrace. There is a horse riding service at the Falcon Terrace, which costs 120 yuan per person for a round trip of 2 hours. There are horsemen to take you to the Falcon Terrace or the Kurdai Forest Canyon. There are also wooden plank roads to walk on. However, the prairie is unpredictable, and there are often showers. It will be very cold when it rains. It is recommended to bring a jacket or thick clothes, as well as a raincoat.

The boundless Kalajun grassland is incomparable in its beauty and vastness.

Kalajun is divided into East and West Kalajun and Koksu Grand Canyon. Most people only visit East and West Kalajun. It is a special feeling to watch horses galloping on the human grassland.

You must stay one night in Kalajun! The sunset and sunrise are very beautiful. I haven't seen so many stars in the sky for many years. It's so beautiful.

Kalajun Grassland is a typical alpine meadow grassland. In July, Kalajun Grassland is very colorful. Some are green, some are tender green, and some are light yellow. These are not enough. There are also small flowers of various colors decorating the grassland. Although the flowers in Kalajun Grassland in July are not as dense as those in May and June, this kind of dotted decoration also has its "just right" beauty. It is a good experience to whip the horse on the Kalajun Grassland. Although your hair is no longer flowing, the flowing horse mane is like a shadow following you, and the wind is blowing in your ears, just like a wind-chasing boy or a child of the rivers and lakes. Standing on the height of the grassland, looking around, the slightly undulating terrain is like waves. This kind of beauty of hardness and softness is another kind of charm.

The landforms of East and West Kalajun are different due to different precipitation. The rainfall in West Kalajun is less, which is particularly obvious this year. The surface is dry, and the grass grows close to the ground and has turned yellow. The grassland in East Kalajun is lush, and water seems to be coming out of the grass. It is really a magical phenomenon.

The small flowers all over the mountains sway in the wind, and the clouds fly over our heads. They really fly over our heads. No matter how long the drive is, we don’t feel tired.

The four of us rode our horses, looking very carefree, but we were actually very scared.
