Karamay World Ghost City

Located at the wind outlet, it is also known as the "Wurhe Wind City". Strong winds often whistle between the stone pillars, like the howling of ghosts and wolves, which is why it is named the Devil City.
It is a typical Yadan landform, where you can see giant stone pillars of various shapes on the Gobi Desert, which is very spectacular and majestic.
The Devil City is very large and you need to take a small train to visit it. There is usually one train every 15 minutes or so, and there are free explanations on the train.

It was nearly 20:00 when we arrived at Karamay Devil City, and the scenic spot had stopped selling tickets. However, there were many mounds around the gate of the scenic spot, and we could peek into the scenic spot through the fence. It was dusk, which was our favorite time, so it did not affect our visit to the Devil City at all, but saved us the ticket money. Since I had been to the Yadan Devil City in Dunhuang before, I was not unfamiliar with this landform, but was a little less curious.

Looking around, there are all kinds of strange-shaped mounds, which were carved by wind and rain erosion over millions of years. They are dense and staggered, like an ancient yellow castle standing tall in the vast Gobi Desert.

Dusk is perhaps the most gentle moment in the Devil City. The yellow earth mounds covered with gold seem to conceal its desolation and gloom, and appear somewhat soft and warm.

There was silence all around. As the sun set, the light changed from golden to light yellow and then to gray. The surrounding mounds became black silhouettes. Following the afterglow of the setting sun, we left this desolate place that made people feel creepy at night.

When we arrived at the scenic spot, the sunshine was still strong. We rested in the visitor hall for nearly an hour before taking the train to enter the Devil City. I lost interest in the tour due to a cold and fatigue. I could only listen to the train broadcast introducing the meaning of each bizarre Danxia mound: Sphinx, ancient castle, warship, male and female profile, Guilin landscape... There was no grass growing on the dry loess. If you were to go to the heart of the Devil City alone, listening to the whistling wind, sandwiched between the huge mounds several stories high, you would definitely feel palpitations. But no matter how desolate it is, it is rich in mineral resources, with natural asphalt, oil, gems, and dinosaur ruins. It is indeed a treasure land in the frontier.

The Devil City is very large and is divided into four areas. The areas are connected by the tour buses in the scenic area. Sitting on the tour bus, you can take a quick look while listening to the tour bus's explanation broadcast. The Devil City is full of rocks and yellow sand, inlaid with a few scattered green grasses, all of which are plants with tenacious vitality in the desert. The rocks are all formed after years of sun, rain and weathering. There are a few strange and special shapes. People will use their imagination to explain that they look like this and that. They say it has a nose and eyes. I didn't think anything at first, but after such an explanation, it seems to be true. Some say it looks like the Egyptian Sphinx, a granary, and a couple looking at each other... In fact, if you really want to say whether it looks like or not, 30% depends on the eyes to distinguish, and 70% depends on imagination. The richer the imagination, the more fun you can get from it, otherwise it's just looking at a pile of rocks and a piece of yellow sand. In the third or fourth area, there are some stone statues and carvings. The movie Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon was filmed here. I haven't seen the movie, so I don't have much resonance and joy. As a tourist attraction, the Devil City allows tourists to experience the unique Yadan style and is quite distinctive and shocking. It is a very favorable symbol of the vastness of the Northwest.

We set off at 6:30 in the morning, which is equivalent to 4:30 in Xinjiang time, and drove from before dawn until the sky was bright.

If you arrive at Devil City at 7:45, several people can park their cars separately, go through security check and buy tickets, and then gather as six people at the ticket gate, which saves time.

A reminder: the wind in Devil City is very strong in the morning and evening, so everyone must pay attention to the clothes they wear.

This is the filming location for many movies, including Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, etc.

The sky at sunrise is different from the sky at sunset when everything becomes quiet and silent. It has a very surprising visual experience.

The ice cream color floated up from the bottom of the brown-yellow sky bowl and slowly filled the entire sky; after a while, a mellow egg yolk raised its head in the east. We were sitting on a small train, and the whistling wind was accompanied by satisfied smiling faces.

This is probably the most beautiful and comfortable sunrise I have ever seen~

Walking in the Windy City, you can hear the whistling sound of the wind from time to time, passing through the steep earth mounds, guiding you to find the traces left on this land over thousands of years. Looking up and looking around, you will be surrounded by many strange-shaped stones, some as high as several stories high. The side walls of the earth mounds are steep, and the sedimentation process can be clearly seen from the cross-section of the side walls, which are mysterious and steady under the reflection of the sun.

There is really nothing wrong with getting up early during the National Day holiday. Compared to the crowded sunset, we got what we paid for!

The sunrise in Devil City is more worth looking forward to than the sunset.

After a day of traveling, we finally reached the Devil City. The name of the Devil City made me look so impressive. But after entering, I found that it was a pile of dirt hills. The tour bus was equipped with a male Mandarin electronic tour guide: "The left side looks like a warship... The right side looks like a ship..." The children who listened to the explanation were very happy, but we, a group of pseudo-middle-aged people, did not have the urge to take out our cameras and scarves to take two check-in photos... But later, when I looked at other people's guides, I sighed that it turned out that wearing a red shirt, the PP picture still has a different flavor... When the sun set, I found the theme of today's photo, silhouette, and finally ruined the sun~~~

The Devil City is a typical Yadan landform, a wind erosion landform formed in a windy and dry environment. Because the wind blows the rocks and the wind and sand make a sound like ghosts crying, it is named "Devil City".

As soon as we arrived at the gate, we felt the power of the strong wind. There was no need to wear a coat, it would stick to the body against the wind. When we were waiting at the gate to get the ticket to enter the city, we really didn't have the courage to take a group photo, because the wind was blowing our arms and legs and we didn't know where to put them. People with small bodies might really be blown away.

There is a small train in the park. You can take a tour on the train and get off at the attractions you are interested in. After sightseeing, wait for the next train to continue.

We were still looking for dinosaur eggs in the sand on the hill. While sitting on the ground playing with the sand, the adventure-loving duo discovered a small mound with a wide view and perfect for taking photos.

There are small trains in the scenic area, which will stop at each scenic spot. You can also walk around, which takes time and energy. To protect the environment, you must walk along the designated routes and areas when you visit, and you cannot climb. The rock and soil shapes formed have been given nice names by the government, and there are guides on the train to introduce the scenic spots.

My friend and I took a train to the filming location of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and then started walking. We walked to the last stop, playing as we went, and it took us about an hour and a half to reach the exit of the scenic area. It was so hot that it was almost baking our flesh and blood.

Walking in the Devil City, you can feel the charm of nature. The Yadan landform is colorful with the sunset, which is really beautiful. There are many small and large earth slopes in the Devil City. Climbing up and looking far away, you can feel the small mountains and have a wider view. But some are too steep and too dangerous, so pay attention to safety! I gave up one because it was too dangerous!

By Sea wind |

Although I had seen similar Yadan landforms in Gansu a few months ago, I saw many different scenery in Xinjiang's Devil City. The cute desert camels, the blood-red sunset in the desert, the silhouettes of people on the mounds of the Devil City, and the proposal under the sunset on the way back are all unique and beautiful memories of Xinjiang's Devil City.

By Cheney |

Don't think you've reached the Devil City when you arrive in Karamay. It's still an hour or two from the city center to the Devil City. Fortunately, the people in Xinjiang go down the mountain late, and we arrived at the Devil City at around 6pm. Before we set off, I heard from fellow travelers that it was too sunny during the day, and they suggested entering the park after 6pm to watch the sunset in the park.

But the reality is that if you don't live near the Devil City, it is recommended not to watch the sunset in the park. Because the sunset is after 10 pm! And if you drive nearly 2 hours back to Karamay city after watching the sunset, it will be too tiring. Anyway, you can also watch the sunset on the way back to the city, which is also very beautiful.

The World Devil City is a very mature scenic spot. You cannot drive in the scenic spot. There are two options, one is to take a shuttle bus, and the other is to walk.

But if you are not a hiking enthusiast, you'd better forget about hiking. The whole scenic area is not big, but not small either. It will take you at least six or seven hours to go around it, and the sun is very hot (don't underestimate the sun at six or seven o'clock). The best choice is to take a shuttle bus + hiking.

The shuttle bus only stops at a few famous points, and the stay time at each point is about 20 minutes. The time is also uncertain. If everyone wants to leave quickly, the bus will leave early.

Why do I say that? Because the tourists on the shuttle bus we took got off the bus and took two photos before saying it was too sunny and they had to leave. We were forced to get on the bus before we could take any photos. Later we realized that we didn't have to leave. We could have stayed nearby to take photos and wait for the next shuttle bus, or walked to the next shuttle bus stop by ourselves. We didn't have enough fun taking photos.

The World Devil City did not bring me the shock I imagined, but a little disappointment. Maybe the scenic spot is too mature, the shuttle bus, the voice introduction (the opening dialogue between a man and a woman, "Hello, everyone, my name is Karamay; Hello, everyone, my name is Mayi. We are Karamay!" I think I will remember it for the rest of my life) makes people feel unnatural. In addition, there are oil fields being dug opposite and near the scenic spot, which also affects the visual effect from a distance.

But the advantage is that you can get close to the scenic area, take photos, touch and feel it, so it is possible to take blockbuster movies.

By Daily |

1. There are five stops for the train in the scenic area:

The first stop is Karamay Baili Oilfield, where we visited the oilfield reclamation machine [it is recommended not to get off the bus];

At the second stop, you can see the Sphinx and ride a camel. It is the best place to take photos, so it is recommended to focus on the tour.

The third stop is the filming location of Seven Swordsmen, with some sculptures of swordsmen and a two-story viewing platform from which you can see the endless Yadan landform.

The fourth stop is the filming location of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, and some elements of the filming were also left in the scenic area.

The fifth stop is Dinosaur Valley [it is recommended not to get off the bus to visit, it is 400 meters away from the exit of the scenic area, and it is not recommended to walk out of the scenic area].

2. The train runs in a cycle, and the get-off and boarding points at each station are slightly staggered. The time spent at each station depends on personal needs and there is no limit. When you have had enough fun, you can queue up at the boarding point and wait for the next train to have a vacant seat. Seats near the front and on the sides are better.

3. The best time to visit is in the evening, when the Yadan landforms are more distinct and colorful under the light and shadow.

4. There is no shade in the entire scenic area except the boarding point, so please protect yourself from the sun!

Devil City is located in an arid and windy area. After millions of years of wind and rain erosion, water and sunshine, tall earthen mounds parallel to the wind direction and arranged alternately have been formed here, like the remains of an ancient castle, protruding from the Gobi Desert. The wind-eroded depressions between the earthen mounds are like eight rivers winding through the desert. Because it is located at the outlet of the wind, Devil City is constantly hit by strong winds all year round. The hills are blown into various shapes by the wind: medieval castles, eagles on cliffs, Egyptian pyramids, palaces, pavilions, horses and lions. Three points rely on nature, and seven points rely on imagination.

By Smile |

The typical Yadan landform, the uncanny workmanship created by wind and sand, and the devil's eye at the entrance of the Devil City are the finishing touch. The Devil City is very large, and the sightseeing bus departs at a fixed time, so you must calculate the time for each point. There is also a dinosaur science park at the exit of the scenic area, which children may like.

By A person d3 tells |

From a distance, you will admire its magnificence and majesty, and marvel at the uncanny workmanship of nature. Going deep into the Windy City, you will feel its extraordinary horror. At the same time, you can also see many filming locations in the scenic area. Famous movies such as "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon", "Seven Swordsmen", and "The Visitor on the Iceberg" were all filmed here. You can go and find familiar scenes. Here, we also saw little lizards and little gerbils, which were so cute, and we were lucky to capture them!

By Gege V |

This is a typical Yardang landform area, which means "steep hill" in Uyghur. It is a wind erosion landform formed in arid and windy environment. Looking at it from a distance, you will admire its magnificence and grandeur and marvel at the uncanny workmanship of nature. When you go deep into the Wind City, you will feel that it is a bit "scary".

By Yanmahu |

When the sun was about to set, we climbed up to the observation deck near the third stop, stood behind the groups of photographers, and looked out at the rolling orange-red Yadan wilderness, as if we were in an epic and magnificent painting. One hundred million years ago, this place was a huge freshwater lake. After unimaginable changes over the years, it has become what it is today. Time is eternal, individuals are tiny, and everyone is just a speck of dust in the universe. Although the joy and happiness at this moment are relatively only a brief moment that is almost non-existent, it is enough for us.

There is no wind or devil in the Devil City at noon, only the scorching sun, and the devil fairy tale played on the train with the cheerful rhythm of Xinjiang music, which is a bit cute. In addition to the vast Gobi, cracked land, desert camels and donkeys, the Devil City with Yadan landform also has the old acquaintance Karamay Oilfield in the book. Riding on the train passing by Karamay Oilfield, I felt proud of the big family and the contract of the oilfield.

Along the way, we saw the gradual change of the landform. One after another, the raised earth mounds appeared on the vast Gobi Desert. That was the beginning of the Devil City. There was no tree and the sun was blazing. You can appreciate the wonders of the Devil City without entering the scenic area. Because I came here a few years ago, this time it was at noon when the sun was blazing, and it felt like it was almost as hot as Turpan. So I didn't choose to enter the scenic area to play, but waited for my friends outside to appreciate its differences. Its landform. After driving out of the scenic area, there is a section of road where you can appreciate the vast desolation of the Devil City and the uncanny workmanship of nature.

It is not recommended to go in summer, it is too hot and sunny. And there is no wind, no feeling.

By Walking on the Grass |

The scenic area is quite large, so it is better to take the scenic train. But the train should have more stops.

This is probably the earliest famous Yadan landform in China. "Devil City" originally referred specifically to this place, but now many places are called Devil City.

The Devil City is a Yadan landform. Now it is winter, no tickets are required, only 20 yuan for the shuttle bus. In summer, there is a small train in the Devil City, and you can stop at many stations and get on and off at any time. Now it is winter, and we are picked up by a small van. There will be explanations while walking. When we arrive at the location, we will be dropped off. Ten minutes later, we will be called together to go to the next place. The Devil City seen on the Internet is very spectacular, with wind erosion landforms that make people feel the uncanny work of nature, but now it is winter, and the Devil City is covered with white snow.

Although it is a scenic spot, "kowtow machines" can be seen everywhere. Karamay is the only city in the world named after oil, and oil is indeed everywhere.

There is a circular train in the park that takes passengers on a tour. There is a player on the train to explain the tour. There are four stops along the way, taking a circular route. At the second stop (where the Seven Swordsmen were filmed), there is a desert off-road vehicle, and you can voluntarily pay to take an additional route, which is also a circular route.

By Travel in Xinjiang |

The Devil City cannot be described as beautiful. Some people say that the Devil City is where "devils" appear. It is a Yadan landform. When you enter the Devil City, you will feel creepy and wonder what kind of power has made this place so dilapidated and uneasy. Moreover, there are a lot of "golden jade" on the Gobi Desert in the Devil City. If you are lucky, you can pick up a few pieces.

By chin |

It sounds wonderful, but the actual experience is not good, far inferior to the Devil City near Dunhuang. First, the scale of the Devil City is relatively small, and the desolate feeling is not enough, like visiting a park. Second, the scenic area is not well managed, and tourists can trample on it at will. Those who have not been to the Devil City can come and take a look, but those who have been there are not recommended to come.

By Small Thrush |

There are eco-friendly cars with audio guides in the scenic area. There is a dinosaur museum at the exit, with many dinosaur models on the ground. Personally, I think that seeing the Devil City depends entirely on imagination, except for listening to the explanation, what those shapes of the gods look like.

By Messy green willow |

Take the shuttle bus in the scenic area and you will see wind-eroded rocks of various shapes. Get off the bus at the second stop and walk back a little, then climb up to an observation deck, which is the best spot to watch the sunset.

By Covering ears happy |

The scenery of Ghost City is similar to that of Jiaohe Ancient City. You also need to take a shuttle bus, but there are many buses and tourists. It is not very meaningful that it is famous because a movie was made there.

When entering the scenic area, you usually choose to take a small train to reach each small attraction. When we arrived, the sky was overcast, but in the evening, something magical happened. The sun shone brightly, making the Devil City particularly charming.

By The smiling twin princess |

I don't know why it is not open. There are many tourist buses parked at the entrance, but the staff of the scenic area said that you can't enter. You can only look at the outer wall. You can't see anything at a glance. There are a few scattered so-called Yadan landform landscapes. It is really far inferior to the Devil City in Jiuquan. I really don't recommend going there. It doesn't feel spectacular at all. Fortunately, it is not open, otherwise I would have lost a lot if I bought the tickets to go in. It is not as good as our Danxia Mountain Scenic Area in Shaoguan, Guangdong.

By Sleepwalking in the universe |

Tips:

1. The wind and sand are very strong, please pay attention to protecting the lens;

2. Stop at the small train station in the park and take a seat on the right side to get a better view;

3. As a Yadan landform, it is similar to the Wave Valley in Yanjiazhai, Jingbian, Shaanxi, and the Antelope Canyon in the United States

The difference is so great that I really don’t have much interest in taking pictures;

By Big Face Cat |

The Devil City is a typical Yadan landform, with various strangely shaped rocks. Anyway, I can’t really tell what these stones mean. The sun is too strong and hot, so we have no mood to appreciate these groups of stones. However, it would be a pity if we didn’t come, and it would not meet our expectations if we came. It may also be that we arrived at the wrong time. It might be great if we arrived a little later at sunset.

By Hey girl |

When we arrived at the Devil City, the sun was at its hottest. We bravely played in the desert. The ticket to the Devil City plus the sightseeing bus cost 62 yuan per person. The Devil City has a very famous Yadan landform. Karamay City is very dry and windy, so we saw wind turbines on the road. We have been going further and further north, going further and further inland, and the surrounding scenery has become very different.

By wynne |

It was already past 8 o'clock in the evening when we arrived at the Devil City, and it was still bright outside. The entrance to the scenic area was empty, and I didn't see anyone outside at all. It was completely different from my impression that the entrance to the scenic area was bustling. There were not many cars. I almost thought that I couldn't go in after get off work. When I asked at the ticket office, I found out that tourists would not be allowed in until after 9 o'clock, so I hurried to buy a ticket and go in.

The scenic spot staff told us the best spot and time to watch the sunset, and a car would come to pick us up after watching the sunset.

The sunset started at about 10 o'clock and didn't last long. The city in the distance gave people a feeling of "the smoke rising straight in the desert and the setting sun over the long river". The afterglow of the sunset was very beautiful with a faint purple color.

By Thump thump |

The voice-over on the tourist train introducing the attractions in Karamay's Ghost City sounded like a military exercise review: "Warships are coming towards us... Aircraft carriers are docked on our left..."

By meteor flow |

In fact, the Yadan landform itself is quite interesting. It is the filming location of "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" and "Seven Swordsmen". It would be great if the audio guide on the train only introduced the similar shapes instead of making up other far-fetched stories.

We walked to a hillside without footprints, which was covered with blood-red, gray-black, white, orange-yellow and various colored stones. On the way, the master told me that many people have made fortunes by picking golden silk jade in the Gobi Desert all year round. Seeing that I was destined to do so, I kept a few as a souvenir. At the exit of the scenic area, you can see many bright red kowtow machines. The exit of the scenic area is the dinosaur fossil area. I left without checking whether there are really fossils. The wind resources near the Devil City are really rich.

Before we came, we heard that the Xinjiang Tourism Bureau had lowered ticket prices for scenic spots across the board, so we came here at a great time.

The ticket price for Devil City is very reasonable, the ticket and shuttle bus cost only 50 yuan in total.

As time goes by and sunset is approaching, the entire Devil City is covered with a layer of warm golden color, making it even more mysterious.

By Punchka Laka |

The gate of Devil City reminds me of the Swarovski Devil's Eye. Swarovski should have been made according to the Devil City.

The Devil City in the evening really looks like a Devil City. The red light of the setting sun illuminates the strange landforms, giving it a cool feeling.

It closed at 8pm so I didn't go in, but but!!! I saw the most beautiful sunset along the way, it was so cool, it was so red!! This scenic spot should be a typical Yadan landform, you can just look at it at the door, hahaha, no need to go in.

A masterpiece of the wind. The small train in the scenic area takes tourists to visit four scenic spots. You will get different answers from different angles, so it all depends on your imagination.

There are several camels with very light fur in the scenic area. They are very good-looking and look very proud.

Arrived at Devil City at 17:53 in the afternoon, ready for sunset at 8 o'clock. You can take the shuttle bus to the second stop to watch the sunset, take photos, and pick up stones, or continue to take the shuttle bus to the third stop (or the fourth stop) to go to the filming site of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Tickets are 35 yuan/person, and the shuttle bus is 20 yuan/person. At the waiting shelter in the scenic area at 20:25 in the afternoon, I misunderstood that we would gather at the waiting area for the second stop of the shuttle bus at 20:30, but it actually departed at 20:30. We were late (because it was close to closing time, the interval between the shuttle buses was extended, and I thought there would be no shuttle buses at one point). Because we spent too much time taking pictures, my husband felt that he picked up too few stones, so he carefully grasped every minute and every moment. Even when waiting for the bus, my husband was next to the waiting shelter, using the light of the camera to continue picking up stones. Fortunately, there was a shuttle bus, otherwise the longer we waited, the more anxious we were, and we always felt that the devil was coming out. There were only 4 people on the last shuttle bus. The driver drove us to the entrance of the scenic area in a racing manner. We saw the leader as soon as we got off the bus (I'm really sorry).

By J Flip Flops |

In fact, the Devil City attraction is also a matter of personal opinion. The scenery is 30% similar and 70% imaginative. What I want to say is that although it is very hot, the photos are really beautiful when the light is good. I am also curious about how scary the Devil City will be when it is windy at night.

Devil City is a typical Yardang landform area, which is a type of wind erosion landform formed in a dry and windy environment.

When you get on the scenic train, you will hear an introduction to the scenic spot in the carriage, telling you where to look, what the various hills look like, etc. The train will stop at several stations during the trip, and tourists can get up close and personal with the Devil City.

Worth a visit, but that's about it.

If you are short on time, just take a look outside! Self-driving cars can be parked in the scenic area parking lot, which is free. Because it is like this inside. It was already 6:30 when we arrived at the scenic area. We first went through security check. There were many security guards at the security checkpoint. The security checkpoint reminded us that we could not bring lighters and drones. It might be because there were too many oil production equipment. After passing the security check, we went to the lobby to pick up the tickets. I suggest you buy tickets online, which has many discounts.

There weren't many people, so I got on the train after getting the ticket. The train stopped at 4 stations in total, and people could get on and off. However, there was no management at the stations, and no queuing guidance facilities. When there were many people, they just swarmed on. There were so many security guards at the door, but there was no management inside. It was speechless.

After I got in, I got off at stops 1 and 2 and took some photos. I didn’t want to get off again, and I didn’t even want to press the shutter........

There are large areas of drilling equipment in the oil fields in the scenic area. I am speechless!

After buying the ticket, you can queue up at the entrance of the scenic area to take the small train. Not far away inside, the nodding machines in the oil fields are working day and night. Also located at more than 30 degrees north latitude, the Devil City caused by wind erosion and the Grand Canyon of Colorado caused by water flow are surprisingly similar.

To be honest, when I came to the Devil City, I had to pay for tickets and shuttle buses. After entering, I just took a bus to visit several scenic spots. There was nothing to see or do, and I was not allowed to fly drones. I think it would be better if you drove to the places before and after to find similar places to take pictures. ! ! I strongly do not recommend the Devil City! ! I simply do not want to see it. When I came out, on the left side of the gate? ? They stopped you from going out directly and forced you to look at the shopping! ! ! ! ! They did not let you go straight after entering! ! The shopping cart on the left blocked you and forced you to look at the goods! ! ! ! I strongly despise it! ! ! ! No wonder no one goes to the Devil City! ! Bad review! ! Not only are drones not allowed in, but there is also such a tourist environment. A hundred sentences of grass mud horse. How dare you charge dozens of yuan per person for tickets.

Karamay is a real city on the Gobi Desert. All the water sources are diverted here. It is a real Gobi oasis built with money.

The Gobi Desert was very windy and sandy, and the scenery at each scenic spot was similar. We got off the bus, visited a few of them, and then left.

Opposite the Devil City is a sea of small drones. Due to frequent strong winds, drone control is relatively strict here. When entering the Devil City for security check, if there is a drone in the bag, it will be prohibited to enter and the drone must be put back in the car. One word to describe the Devil City is hot. We did not visit it later and chose to retreat directly.

By Lots of money |

The road is already under construction, and I don't know when the entrance fee will be charged. It was a pleasant surprise for the whole trip.

The timing was just right. The sun rose 5 minutes after we got off the car.

When we left, it was about to rain. The weather really changed suddenly.

The Devil City parking lot didn't seem to charge money, and a bowl of noodles at the visitor center restaurant was 20 yuan, which was considered affordable, but they arrogantly refused to accept individual tourists. I couldn't understand why they refused RMB when it was not the peak season, so I bought two tea eggs on the roadside to fill my stomach.

Three points rely on the eyes, and seven points rely on imagination. What about the devil couple, ships, beacon towers... I can say that watching alone quietly, thinking wildly in my mind, is much more thrilling and spectacular than the commentary... It is not an exaggeration to imagine a fantasy novel of cultivation. However, it is too cold. When you arrive at the scenic spot, take pictures and leave. You must wear windproof clothes in the Devil City.

I don't think it's as good as I thought. Maybe the marketing is better. The scenery can be seen everywhere on the roads in Xinjiang. The sunrise is more beautiful!

Karamay Ghost City is very famous, and it is a world-famous ghost city. Locals rarely go there, which is normal. All the people living in the scenic spot, no matter how beautiful it is, because for them, they have lived here for a long time and have become accustomed to it. But for us Jiangnan people, everything is curiosity. Standing on a high place and looking at the entire ghost city, it is like a large castle in medieval Europe. If you have not seen the Yadan landform, it is indeed worth a visit.

The scenic area is very large, and there is a small train that takes you around and introduces you to various strange-shaped rocks. There are stops in the middle where you can get off to take pictures and then take the next train.

The Devil City scenic area is very large. You can take the scenic train to get off at 4 scenic spots for sightseeing. Walking tour is very sunny. It is recommended to reserve about 2 hours to get off the train to visit and take photos at all 4 scenic spots. Some people say that at sunset, the sunset is beautiful when it is printed on the endless Yadan landform.

I bought a small train ticket for the scenic area. There were explanations on the train and the train stopped at several places along the way. If there was enough time, I could stop and take a look at each place.

The Devil City is also a wind-eroded Yadan landform. Having seen the Yadan landform in Dunhuang, I feel that there is nothing special about it. If there is any, it is the following two.

One is a stone statue that looks like a man from the left and a woman from the right.

The second is the pumping units that are currently exploiting the oil field. The wells are being explored and oil is being produced in an orderly manner, in groups and in patches, which is quite spectacular.

There are many tourists. If you have a card, you only need to buy a section ticket. After security check, go to the tourist center to buy a ticket, 52 yuan per person. Take the battery car, and the guide introduces the stories of various ghost towns. We are shocked by the wonders of the landforms created by the uncanny work of nature. How many years of wind, sun and rain have carved such a scene! It is impossible to take pictures of the scene, so everyone should come!

Unfortunately, due to the rush and time constraints, I only made a brief stop at the gate of the Devil City this time, and then admired this magnificent natural landscape along the way.

If you have the opportunity to walk into the Devil City Scenic Area in the future, when you walk in the Devil City, you will be surrounded by many mounds of various shapes. Some of the mounds are several stories high, with steep side walls. You can clearly see the sedimentary layers from the cross-section of the side walls. Under your feet is dry and cracked loess with no grass. There is silence all around. If you come here alone, congratulations, even on a windless night, you will tremble with fear.

Although the commentary on the shuttle bus is awkward, one thing worth praising is that there is a special sunset shuttle bus. The ticket office said it would depart at 9 o'clock, and the driver said it would depart at 10 o'clock. In short, it is not a big problem to ask a few more people to confirm and not go too far. The bus will pick up people along the route.

The Gobi Desert is desolate and vast, with dry land, scorching air, flying yellow sand, steep rocks, and camels. The time was not coincidental, and the sun was swallowed by a large cloud and disappeared for a long time. However, the gloomy weather added a weird color to the Devil City. The wind whistled across the sky, and the ears were filled with devilish cries. The lifeless stone piers, however, had a majestic vitality in the heart-to-heart dialogue. Presumably, nature has stayed here for a long time to carve out such a stunning landform. If it is a sunny day, please catch the setting sun; if the moonlight is bleak, please feel the bleak night with your heart. After all, in the beautiful Sichuan, you have never seen such a rough scene.

Compared to Wucai Beach, I still prefer Devil Town, the Yadan landform, and a sense of desolation, but in reality the scenic area is just mediocre and not very interesting. It can be cancelled from the itinerary. By the way, the biggest advantage of this place is that it is very good for taking pictures, especially if you match the right clothes, you can take great pictures.

When I was in Hami before, I went to the local World Devil City. Compared with this Devil City, the one in Hami is more primitive. Cars can drive in and people can walk around freely. It's 20 yuan per person to drive in and play freely. It feels quite comfortable.

This Devil City is better developed. The ticket bought online is 56 per person, including the price of the train. The ticket bought on site is 62 per person. After entering, you can take a small train to go around. On the way, you can pass four photo spots where you can get off to take pictures, and then wait for the next small train to come and take it to the next stop. It's a scientific way. We stayed in it for two hours and felt that we had a lot of fun. There is no need to spend too much time. In general, you can go and have a look. There is an oil field next to it. There is a big smell of gasoline. The weather is hot and sunny. Take protective measures.

Devil City is a favorite place for photography enthusiasts, especially when the sun sets. Devil City is not as weird and scary as the legend says, but even picturesque, with light and shadow flowing, forming shadows between gullies and stone layers, allowing people to experience a slow-motion moment in the passage of millions of years. For children, all of this is more like a super-large gravel field, which is better than the beaches and reefs on the seaside.

The Devil City is a Yadan landform eroded by wind, with various shapes. It looks like a castle tens of thousands of years ago, or perhaps a masterpiece of aliens.

The ground is very soft, with a pit after every step. The soil is very fine and feels like powder (I later found out that it is actually weathered sandstone). There are also a lot of paraffin stones (Gobi jade) in the soil. It’s great to experience Yaerdan up close and go treasure hunting!

The only plant on the ground is the camel thorn. It is said that there is oil underground (this is the case in all Yadan landforms). In fact, the greatest fun here is to climb up the high mounds and watch the sunset slowly sink into the horizon, burning the clouds in the sky red.

Finally, I left the slope with great reluctance. I felt that this was the best experience and the most beautiful scenery so far.
