Tianshan Tianchi Scenic Area

When you arrive in Urumqi, if you have enough time, Tianshan Tianchi is worth a visit. This place, known as the "Western Queen Mother Yaochi", is located in Fukang City, Xinjiang, about an hour's drive from Urumqi. Standing by the Tianchi Lake and looking out: a pool of blue water hangs high in the middle of the mountain, like a jade cup held high by the towering mountains. A breeze blows, a green sea wave rises and falls, the water surface is shrouded in smoke, the mist is shimmering, the mountains and rivers are connected, and the sky and the sky are integrated. The scattered cruise ships in the pool ripple slowly, and the airships circle, raising waves. The green pines and cypresses along the coast, the rocks are rugged, and the scenery is magnificent. There is also a Feilongtan in the Tianchi Scenic Area, where you can go for a walk. A waterfall falls from tens of meters in the air and gathers into a pool. The water in the pool is turbulent and the waves are splashing. It is very cool to go there in summer.

Tianchi Lake is located on the hillside below Bogda Peak. It is a moraine lake created by the movement of ancient glaciers. When the glaciers melt, the terminal moraine blocks the river or glacial valley to form a lake basin, and the water accumulates to form a lake. Admire Tianchi Lake from a close distance. The lake water is clear, surrounded by mountains and wild flowers, which makes people linger. Tianchi Lake is one of the three national key scenic spots in Xinjiang, along with Kumtag Desert and Bosten Lake. However, the management of the scenic area is unsatisfactory. On the one hand, the tourist gathering center is set in a flat area, which is far away from the scenic area. The scenic area car enters by ferry, which increases the ticket price. On the other hand, the driver and passengers on the shuttle bus are suspected of repeatedly promoting tourists to buy joint tickets for several projects such as the scenic area cableway, which affects the interest of tourists.

It is very tiring to visit Tianshan. Although there is a cable car to go up the mountain, you still have to walk up the stairs for a large part. There are yachts for visiting Tianchi Lake, which takes 45 minutes to circle. Tianshan Lake Scenic Area is very large and has many attractions. It is difficult to visit all of them. It is difficult to have enough time and energy. The most important thing is that most tourists are not interested in this.

After entering the scenic area, we stayed for a while at the buffet. Although the buffet was disappointing, the surrounding scenery was beautiful. After the meal, we walked around. The weather was very good that day, with clear and crisp autumn air and a strong autumn atmosphere. The arrangement of the self-funded projects on that day was really disappointing. The only consolation was that the weather was good and the scenery of Tianchi was beautiful. When we arrived at Tianchi, the sun withdrew from the surface of the Tianchi water, like a layer of silver gauze covering it, sparkling, the snow-capped mountains in the distance, the blue sky, and the sapphire lake formed a beautiful picture, which was extremely charming.

I let my parents go on a tour around the lake, and we took the cable car to a high place to overlook Tianchi Lake.

The cableway rises quickly, and the viewing platform on the upper floor actually has symptoms of altitude sickness, which should be caused by the rapid increase in altitude. So I rested on the platform for a while, and from here I could overlook Tianchi. Of course, you can continue to go up along the trail and watch Tianchi from a higher place. Looking down at Tianchi from a high place, it looks like a sapphire inlaid between the mountains. But the nearby mountains are bare and less beautiful. I personally think that the lake is more beautiful with the golden autumn scenery. From then on, you can go up the mountain on the plank road to a higher place. The mountains are sometimes covered with white snow, and the scenery at a high place should have a different taste. It's just that we didn't continue to go up because of the time limit of the group tour. This is also the annoying part of the group tour. There are also grilled lamb skewers for sale in the scenic area. Going down to the lake, I found several different angles and tried to take a few pictures. I feel that Tianchi is really beautiful! The sky is blue without a trace of clouds, the blue sky, snow-capped mountains, deep blue lake water, and the charming autumn colors nearby are really a beautiful picture. In autumn, the water of Tianchi Lake is clear and blue like jasper, and the golden autumn leaves are colorful. The scenery is really beautiful! Although this group tour was not pleasant, fortunately the weather was fine and the beauty of Tianchi Lake did not disappoint us.

What we really saw was actually the Tianchi Lake. There are plank roads and viewing spots around the Tianchi Lake. To be honest, this spot did not amaze me. Although there was blue-green water nearby and snow-capped mountains in the distance, and the weather was good that day with blue sky and white clouds as embellishment, this place was beautiful, but not enough to deserve an exclamation mark. Maybe it is beautiful, but it still lacks the shock of the visual field.

I finished visiting this attraction in just one glance. There was a Taoist temple in the distance but I wasn't interested in it. The farthest I went was to the "Dinghai Shenzhen" and then turned back. If I had more time, I might as well rent a set of ethnic costumes and take some photos.

When we arrived at the entrance of the scenic area, we had to transfer to the scenic area shuttle bus. This was the first time I heard of the shuttle bus (it may be because I don’t go out much, which exposed my ignorance). Because the scenic area here is really too big, after entering from the ticket office, we often have to take a bus for several kilometers or even dozens of kilometers to reach the first viewing platform. There is no choice but to walk (every scenic spot we visited in the next few days also had to take the shuttle bus, which was charged separately). The shuttle bus crawled along the mountain road from the flat ground at the entrance and finally stopped at one-third of the height. From here, our mountain and snow tour really began.

We climbed up and looked into the distance, marveling at the vastness of the snowy forest. I was free and relaxed in the snowy forest. I was no longer myself, but just one of the creatures in the world, no different from the rime on the mountain stream, the dust on the cliffs, the flying birds and moths, and the sunshine scattered by the wind. The joys and sorrows of the world were no longer important at that moment.

There is also a Tianchi Lake on Tianshan Mountain, which is the legendary Yaochi Lake of the Queen Mother of the West.

Tianchi Lake is basically frozen in winter. Friends who want to go there can directly sign up for a one-day tour online. Usually, the group gathers around 9 or 9:30, arrives at the entrance of the scenic area at 11, and then starts to climb up after lunch by shuttle bus. The return journey starts around 4, and arrives in Urumqi city around 6 (friends who want to go to Beitun at this point can buy train tickets for 11 pm like us, which is more than enough time).

It should be noted that the cost of the tour group generally only includes the first entrance ticket to the scenic area, a full meal and round-trip transportation fare. Other items such as the cable car still need to be paid by oneself (cable car 220, Kazakh home visit 80).

The scenery on the shuttle bus is also beautiful. There are landscapes such as the Skyline and the Small Tianchi along the way, and you can also see some Kazakh yurts. It is recommended to sit on the right seat, the scenery will be relatively better. In addition, some of the small attractions mentioned above do not stop, so be sure to prepare your photography equipment to capture them at any time.

About 40 minutes later we arrived at Tianchi, which is said to be the foot basin of the gods. The cruise ship stopped because of ice, but it was also a good experience to be able to step on Tianchi.

I would also like to thank the weather. It was sunny a few days before our visit, so the sky was particularly blue and the view was particularly wide, especially the morning mist, which was really beautiful.

We signed up for the cable car and home visit because we had the mentality that it was a rare opportunity to come here. Many people may hesitate whether it is necessary to take the cable car up, including me. I asked my friends before I came, and they did not recommend it. But I still insisted on going up, and then I found it was really worth it, especially if the weather is clear, you must go up to see the continuation of the mountains.

After taking the cable car up, you will actually only reach a viewing platform, and you have to climb the rest of the way by yourself. Maybe because there were too few tourists, we climbed the wooden plank road while waiting for the staff to clear the snow. Everyone should be careful of the slippery road. There is a steep slope. It is better to listen to the tour guide and not take pictures while walking, and not walk while taking pictures.

After the cable car goes down, there is about an hour to play by the Tianchi Lake. The local area seems to be preparing for the Ice and Snow Festival, so some staff are also seen building an ice rink on the lake. It should be noted that try not to go to the middle of the lake or the place with thin ice, or focus on safety.

We arrived at the entrance of Tianchi Scenic Area at 13:20, took a sightseeing bus, and kept climbing up on the winding mountain road. It took about an hour to reach the parking point. We had to take another sightseeing bus and walk for 5-10 minutes to get to the side of Tianchi.

Standing by the Tianchi Lake, you can see the snow-capped mountains in the distance that never melt all year round. The Tianchi Lake is surrounded by mountains, green pines and cypresses, the lake water is as blue as a mirror, luxury cruise ships and speedboats are speeding, and there is also the beautiful legend of the Yaochi Lake. It is truly a paradise on earth!

Tianchi is one of the first batch of 5A scenic spots in the country, and it is visited by many tourists from home and abroad.

Tianshan Tianchi is a world natural heritage and a national geological park. Located halfway up the mountain under the Bogda Mountain in Fukang City, Xinjiang, at an altitude of 1,910 meters, it is a natural alpine lake with a half-moon shape. Some people say that Tianshan Tianchi is not as gorgeous as Kanas, so either don't go to Tianshan, or go to Tianshan first and then Kanas. If you go to Tianshan later, you will be disappointed because the scenery is far inferior to Kanas. In fact, this is not the case...

The beauty of the Tianshan Mountains lies in its towering heights and perennial snow. The main peak, Bogda Peak, is even more magnificent. What's even more amazing is that it is very close to the capital Urumqi, and almost complements each other. In this winter when winter has not yet arrived, it is easier to see the holy mist pines.

I was expecting a heavy snowfall to take photos of the misty pines and fairy mist on the Tianchi Lake, but I was unlucky and the sky was clear and sunny. However, I was still surprised to see Urumqi and the majestic Bogda Peak in the distance from the top of the mountain. In winter, even on sunny days, the plank road of Tianshan Mountain is covered with enough snow. After taking the cable car up to the first viewing platform, the snow had already dispersed. The snow on the road to the second platform was naturally thick and slippery and difficult to walk. The scenery and angle of the second platform must be worth it. Not to mention the third platform. The saying that infinite scenery is proportional to the dangerous peaks is indeed proportional. If you want to see the good scenery, you have to take risks.

Picea schrenkiana is the symbol of the cold-zone mountains. Whether evergreen in summer or covered with snow in winter, the majestic and tall pine trees will make you deeply feel the beauty of Xinjiang.

After visiting Sailimu Lake, Tianchi Lake in Tianshan Mountains is indeed not that attractive anymore. It is just a lake in the mountains and there doesn’t seem to be anything to see.

Maybe the weather was not very good that day, with dark clouds. We heard the tour guides of the tour groups next door say that when the weather is good, you can see snow-capped mountains in the distance, which are very beautiful against the blue sky and white clouds. Well, we can just imagine it.

Tianshan Tianchi scenic spot is the most crowded among all the scenic spots we have visited. Of course, we tried our best to avoid the crowds when taking photos.

The ticket to Tianshan Tianchi is 215 yuan per person, including the shuttle bus. After entering the gate, take the shuttle bus to the mountainside, but to reach the top of the mountain, you still have to walk for about 20 minutes. Or you can take the battery car at your own expense, 10 yuan per person.

When we took the bus to the mountainside, the temperature was only around 10 degrees Celsius (it was around 30 degrees Celsius in the city). I was afraid it would be too cold walking all the way up the mountain, so we took an electric car to the top of the mountain at our own expense.

It was even colder when we reached the top, only about 11 degrees. Many people rented down jackets on the mountainside to climb the mountain. I didn’t feel cold at first so I didn’t want to rent one. I walked on the top of the mountain for an hour or two, and finally I was shivering (there was no place to rent down jackets on the top of the mountain). Plus, my boyfriend and I didn’t think there was anything to see, so we stayed there for about two hours and then went down the mountain.

After leaving Bole, we drove back to Urumqi, visited the Grand Bazaar, climbed Tianshan Mountain, and visited Tianchi Lake. Looking at Tianchi Lake from the lakeside, it was boundless and unfathomable. Looking at Tianchi Lake from the top of the mountain, it looked like the foot washing basin of the Queen Mother. The higher you stand, the smaller the world becomes.

Tianshan Tianchi is a scenic spot very close to Urumqi, and the drive takes about an hour. Urumqi is prone to traffic jams. If you have to travel after visiting the scenic spot, it is recommended to set off early. Tianshan Tianchi is more suitable as the starting point of the trip to warm up for the trip. The scenery is only average in the whole trip, but it is still quite shocking at the beginning.

Tianshan Tianchi is an excellent summer resort. The breeze blows across your face, bringing you coolness and making you feel relaxed and happy. The sound of birdsong and streams adds a bit of liveliness and harmony to this beautiful scenery. In the distance, the Bogda Peak stands tall and majestic, surrounded by clouds and mist; the nearby lake water is as green as jade and sparkling. Here, you can feel the magic and beauty of nature, and appreciate the tranquility and depth of the alpine lake.

I personally think the scenery of Tianshan Tianchi is pretty good. Maybe it’s because I went to Sailimu Lake and Kanas Lake first and then came to Tianshan Tianchi, so I didn’t find it particularly amazing, but the scenery is also beautiful and worth a look.

On the bus to the scenic area, the tour guide Xiao Li introduced the scenic area along the way. Later, he recommended taking the Maya Mountain Cableway to see the stone forest, sea of clouds, and snow-capped peaks. Maya Mountain is two kilometers southwest of Tianchi Lake, with an altitude of 3,056 meters. The top of the mountain is lined with huge rocks, shaped like a row of huge horse teeth, hence the name. Maya Mountain Stone Forest is known as the unique feature of Tianchi Scenic Area. Those huge rocks have been eroded by the wind, forming a unique horse tooth landscape, or giant fangs, like the bloody mouth of a beast; or layers of rolling like waves in the sea. At the top of Maya Mountain, you can look north to Tianchi Lake, which is full of splendid scenery; look east to Bogda, and you can see the three peaks of the sea of snow; look west to Urumqi, and the houses and farms are clearly visible.

The scenery is beautiful, but the shuttle bus plus the cable car cost another 220 yuan per person, which is much more expensive than the tickets and shuttle bus of the main scenic area. Xiao Li said that he had a coupon worth 10 yuan, and we could ask him for it if we needed it. We asked for it, but in the end we didn't spend the money. We decided to save this optional spot and exchange it for a good meal. So, for dinner today, we found a popular restaurant - Xiaohe Princess's secret roasted lamb leg and fried belt noodles.

As the saying goes, there are gains and losses. I don’t know whether this decision has made us gain or...

The lake reflects the green mountains, making it even more charming. Tianchi is a barrier lake formed by the melting snow on Bogda Peak. The lake is sparkling, and several cruise ships are docked by the lake, waiting for tourists to take a boat to the deeper part of the mysterious Tianchi.

The pool is surrounded by mountains, and the spruce and birch trees on the mountains create a beautiful picture. The green spruce is painted in a thick or light style according to the terrain. Facing the sunny hillside, there is no tall tree, only weeds and some wild flowers with yellow flowers dotted in between, and occasionally one or two small shrubs show their branches and leaves next to the brown rocks.

If you are not traveling independently, you may only have enough time to check in at the Tianchi Lake. So cherish the scenery along the way on the shuttle bus. The mountains outside the car window were first barren, low, and exposed with brown sand. Gradually, at the foot of the mountain next to the winding mountain road, piles of short grass emerged, creeping quietly, with a chaotic color, as if afraid of being discovered. Then the mountains retreated, and a rushing clear stream appeared outside the window. There were gradually small flat green lawns beside the stream, and the hot and dry air became misty and moist without knowing when. I don’t know how many slopes I climbed and how many turns I turned, the continuous mountains grew into the clouds, becoming majestic, and the spruce on the top of the mountain pierced into the sky like a sword.

Tianshan Tianchi is the most representative alpine lake that you must visit on your trip to Xinjiang! Personally, I think it is a must-see. We passed through [Shimen Line], one of the eight scenic spots of Tianchi, [West Small Tianchi], and drove to see the second scenic spot of Tianchi [Longtan Biyue]. The green lake, the snow-capped mountains in the distance, and the surrounding spruce trees all tell the autumn mood. After getting off the car, the sun was very warm, and walking on the lush mountain road was exciting.

Tianshan Tianchi Scenic Area (5A) is probably the most famous scenic spot in Xinjiang. Tianchi, formerly known as "Yaochi", is located halfway up the mountain below Bogda Peak (5445 meters above sea level). It is a moraine lake left by ancient glacial movement. The road to Tianchi is still very experienced~~ The scenic area may be too popular, there are still many tourists, but there are much fewer than the scenic spots in the city. The overall scenery is still good~~

A must-visit scenic spot around Urumqi~One day is enough for a round trip~In fact, the commercialization here is very high. Before taking the shuttle bus up the mountain, you must walk through a long "commercial street". If you don't want to walk up, you can take the bus or cable car for the whole journey. It must be better if the weather is fine. The snow on the spruce had not melted on May Day, adding a little fairy air. Drones must be reported in the Tianshan Tianchi Scenic Area. You must write a note at the police booth in front of the entrance to successfully report it! You can bring some snacks to the mountain with you, and there is no need to eat a full meal in the scenic area~ There will also be shops selling snacks. During the National Day, "My Motherland and I" was played on Maya Mountain. Perhaps only when facing such a beautiful land can you truly feel "I sing every mountain, I sing every river".

The Queen Mother Temple is built on the hillside. After getting off the boat, you have to climb a long and high flight of stairs. I stopped halfway up the stairs to take pictures. I think it can be regarded as a good viewing point for Tianchi.

Tianchi Lake in Tianshan Mountains lacks a sense of mystery.

There are three ways to play: stroll along the lake, take a boat and go up the mountain. We chose the Maya Mountain Cableway. After getting off the car, we climbed the plank road for 1.5 hours to the top of the mountain. We can see the Bogda Snow Mountain up close and overlook the Tianchi Lake from a distance. I personally think it is more interesting than by the lake. It’s just that climbing the mountain is more tiring, so it’s best to plan three hours for the round trip.

According to legend, the Queen Mother of the West held a Peach Banquet in Yaochi Lake, and all the gods were invited to the banquet, but the Yaochi water monster was not invited. It started to cause trouble, turning the lake upside down, and making the whole sky cold, so that the people at the Peach Banquet could not enjoy the feast. In a rage, the Queen Mother of the West pulled out a hairpin from her head and inserted it on the north bank of Yaochi Lake to suppress the water monster and calm the raging waves. Later, an elm tree grew where the hairpin was inserted.



When leaving the scenic area, I deliberately sat on the left side of the scenic area car and took a photo of the West Xiaotian Pond. The pond is not big, but it is said to be bottomless.

The lake is crescent-shaped, 3,400 meters long, about 1,500 meters wide at its widest point, covering an area of 4.9 square kilometers, and about 105 meters deep at its deepest point. The lake water is clear and crystal-like. Surrounded by mountains, green grass, and wild flowers, it is known as the "Pearl of Tianshan Mountains". Tall and verdant spruce and pine trees cover the mountains and ridges, blocking out the sun.

Southeast of Tianchi Lake is the majestic Bogda Peak ("Bogda" in Mongolian means sacred mountain or holy mountain), with an altitude of 5,445 meters. This section of the mountain is steep, not to mention that this is only a part. There are still many steps to climb after getting off the cable car to the top, so save your energy). After getting off the cable car, there is a platform here where you can enjoy the Tianchi Lake in the distance. You have to continue to climb to the top. The road is long, and this is the other side that you need to grit your teeth and persevere to reach. Walk and rest along the way, while enjoying the Tianchi Lake at different heights of Tianshan Mountain, and take pictures as souvenirs. Although it's hard, the beautiful scenery you see is incomparable to the mountain below. On the mountainside of Bogda Snow Peak, the second highest peak of Tianshan Mountain, there is a natural alpine lake, which is Tianshan Tianchi, which enjoys the reputation of "Pearl of Tianshan Mountain". The water of Tianchi Lake is clear and transparent, surrounded by mountains, green hills, deep valleys, and green grass on the lakeside. The name "Tianchi" comes from the stone tablet inscribed "The Divine Pool is Vast, and the Sky Mirror Floats in the Sky" by Xinjiang Dutong Mingliang who visited Tianchi of Bogda Peak in the 48th year of Emperor Qianlong's reign in the Qing Dynasty. Tianchi is derived from the first and last two characters of the two words "Sky Mirror" and "Divine Pool" respectively.

If you want to rank the many beautiful scenery in Xinjiang, Tianshan Tianchi is definitely the best. We set off at 9:30 in the morning and arrived at the gate of the scenic area at around 11 o'clock. After a simple group meal, we took a 40-minute shuttle bus up the mountain to the main scenic area. At this moment, the large green forest outside the window has formed a sharp contrast with southern Xinjiang. There are several ways to play in the scenic area, such as climbing Bogda Peak, taking a yacht to tour Tianchi, or hiking along the lake to the West Queen Mother Temple. Of course, we chose to climb the mountain in pursuit of new heights in life. First, we took a cable car to the halfway point of Bogda Peak, and then started the real mountain climbing. There were several sections of the road that were very steep, surrounded by snow. The higher we went, the lower the temperature and the wider the view. The process of climbing is also a process of conquering nature and returning to nature. After reaching the top of the mountain, all the distractions in my heart are gone. The way down the mountain is very easy, and I am reluctant to return to the world from the fairyland.

Tianshan Tianchi is only an hour's drive from Urumqi, and we passed by Tianchi on our way to Altay from the east. We wanted to give up because of the bad weather, but we turned the steering wheel and drove in when we saw a fork in the road.

The shuttle bus has a transfer at the Folk Customs Park, which actually requires you to walk around the commercial street to stimulate consumption.

At the end of the shuttle bus, you can change to an electric car for 10 yuan. You can buy a one-way trip because it only takes 10 minutes to walk.

To be honest, I had too high expectations for Tianshan, so the difference was huge. It was inconvenient to go there by public transportation, and I had to transfer. The scenery was not as good as Jiuzhaigou, but Namtso was pleasantly surprised. It was just okay. It was highly commercialized and lacked the original charm.

The legendary Queen Mother's footbath has beautiful scenery and a pleasant environment. You can see the mountains, water, flowers and plants. If you have time, go there~ Tianchi Lake at the foot of Tianshan Mountain. At that time, I followed my teacher and classmates to check out the spot. When I was a student, I used an OPPO A37 mobile phone with very poor pixels, but now looking through the photos, I can still see that the scenery is very beautiful, and it can't be blocked from overflowing the screen. The Tianchi parking lot is a short distance away from the Tianchi, so you don't need to take the shuttle bus. It's very close. You can take a boat tour of Tianchi Lake. You can see the snow-capped mountains in the distance, but there is not much snow on the snow-capped mountains.

The cruise ship will pass by the Temple of Queen Mother of the West. You can choose to get off the ship to visit it. The ship is a mobile cycle. For those who are new to Xinjiang, Tianchi is worth a visit. The scenic area is very mature. The light is better for taking photos in the morning, but it is backlit in the afternoon. There is a business renting Uyghur costumes for taking photos by the lake. It costs 10 yuan per piece and you can take photos at will. It is very suitable for girls.

It is about 90 kilometers from Urumqi to Tianshan Scenic Area, mainly urban roads and highways. It takes about an hour and a half. The roads in Xinjiang are often congested.

Many people say that Tianshan Tianchi scenic spot is a place you will regret if you don't go there. After more than an hour's drive, we arrived at the ticket office of Tianshan Tianchi scenic spot. Even if you bought a card, you still need to print a small ticket and then buy a section ticket.

There is still a distance from the gate of the scenic area to Tianchi Lake, which requires taking a shuttle bus. There are several routes to visit Tianchi Lake. One is to take a cruise ship to play on Tianchi Lake, and the other is to take a shuttle bus and a cable car to an observation deck on a mountain. The observation deck can overlook the Urumqi city and the entire Tianchi Lake. After getting off the cable car, there are about 3,000 steps to climb to the top of the mountain to see Bogda Peak in the distance.

There is nothing to see near the lake, so we decided to take the cable car to the top of the mountain. We bought the mountaineering bus and cable car tickets from a scalper for 200 yuan per person, and the last cable car was at 18:30.

We took the shuttle bus and the cable car in Tianchi Scenic Area, then hiked up the mountain to see Bogda Peak and then came down the mountain. It took less than six hours in total. We originally planned to play for 2 hours but ended up playing for 6 hours.

It took about 40 minutes to reach Tianchi. The road was winding along the mountain road. The driver was a very good driver, but since I was afraid of heights, I had to pretend nothing happened and just look at the mountains.

After going through various hairpins, we finally arrived at Tianchi. The blue lake water, the yellow leaves by the lake and the snow-capped mountains in the distance set off each other, forming a picturesque dream scene.

Touring along the lakeside, there is a quiet path in the forest, which has a "contracted" effect. It is hard to believe that this is Tianchi during the National Day.

Another way to play is to continue riding the battery car up the mountain beside Tianchi, reach the cable car station, and take the cable car up the snow mountain.

Fortunately, the weather was good, and I felt that the tickets were not wasted.
