Going west from Erhai Gate, the whole street is Renmin Road. The middle section of Renmin Road is a pedestrian street. Renmin Road in the daytime is completely different from Renmin Road at night. Most restaurants with singers are closed during the day, so Renmin Road is quiet and peaceful during the day, with the sound of reading in Dali No. 4 Middle School. At night, Renmin Road is filled with folk songs and late-night restaurants. There are not many people on Renmin Road during the day, and the shops are not fully open, so you can walk around quickly. You can visit some small shops if you are interested.

Wandering around Renmin Road, it was probably too early, maybe around 9-10 o'clock, many shops were not open yet, and there were not many people. I started walking around aimlessly, going wherever I wanted.

Here I met the local sister whom I met on the first day. She had a bright smile. I liked her smile and her gentleness.

I met a big dog on Renmin Road. The dog owner’s red shoes were so beautiful and warm.

The local old ladies selling vegetables were chatting with each other, but unfortunately I had no place to cook, and I probably liked buying their vegetables the most.

In the morning, it was quiet and peaceful. Students in school uniforms were eating rice noodles in a small shop, a fruit seller was selling fresh fruits, and people were choosing ingredients. Most of them were locals or long-term residents, and there were few tourists at this time. It was full of the flavor of the ancient city, which was completely different from the style of Renmin Road Bar Street at night.

Renmin Road is the most artistic street in Dali Ancient City. You can feel the lazy and slow time of Dali on this street. The former "street stall culture" rose here, and many travelers gathered here. Openness, avant-garde and tolerance are best reflected here. If you come to Dali and want to bring some small things back, you have to go to Renmin Road. There are also many snacks, delicacies and pubs on this road, which is a paradise for foodies.

By Freelancer |

It is one of the streets in the ancient city. There are many shops along the street. Just like the ancient cities in various scenic spots, it is noisy and bustling. The most popular products are Pu'er tea and rose cakes, which can be regarded as local characteristics.

By Hanori |

You can go to the vegetable market on Renmin Road to have a look. The fruits are very cheap. You can also go to the shops selling various plant tie-dye and batik, leather goods, bags, shoes and handicrafts.

By Air Belle |

There are many specialty shops on Renmin Road, including bars, cafes, clothing stores, etc., which are all very fun to visit.

By Andy.Bohu.Tang |

There are a lot of people on Renmin Road, where tourists gather and many people buy things.

By DDDG |

It is the main tourist route in Dali Ancient City. The nightlife has just begun. When I came at 9 o'clock, not all the snacks were ready. I heard that they would be ready at 10 o'clock.

By MIKA |

It's not very busy, but there are many shops selling flower cakes.

By Two flowers |

As soon as you enter Renmin Road, you can see tie-dyed fabrics hanging on the wall. There are all kinds of colors. You can take pictures here. The auntie selling fabrics is very friendly. I first learned about tie-dyeing technology from "The Brain". I didn't expect to see the real thing. It's very beautiful.

There are many ethnic minorities in Yunnan, including the Bai in Dali, the Naxi in Lijiang, the Mosuo in Lugu Lake... Each ethnic group has its own unique customs, and the diverse Yunnan is truly fascinating.

By Hot |

This place is heavily commercialized, with few specialty shops, most of which sell common snacks, flower cakes, etc. There are also pubs with people playing music and singing.

By Yi Shio |

You may not feel its enthusiasm during the day, but at night, it is definitely bustling with people. Walking out from Renmin Road and connecting to the night market near Erhai Gate is the right way to open the night life of Dali Ancient City.

Renmin Road is even more exciting at night. Many good-looking young men and women come out at this time, setting up stalls on the roadside to sell some handicrafts, or playing and singing with a guitar or ukulele. The romance and temptation of the night are everywhere.

By Ying Xuan |

I have come to Dali once a year in the past few years. Even with such frequent visits, I still feel that Renmin Road has changed a lot. Many of the shops that I remembered are gone, which makes me a little sad.

Renmin Road is the most distinctive street in the ancient city, gathering backpackers from all over the world. It is the place where all travelers' dreams begin. And I never deny my fascination with it. In the evening, walking on Renmin Road in the evening with the gentle breeze will make you feel happy. This street from east to west is not long, but it attracts backpackers from all over the world.

Going up slowly from Erhai Gate to Cangshan Gate, you can see stalls selling all kinds of small items everywhere, and intermittent singing can be heard from time to time. In recent years, there are more and more bars on Renmin Road.

The tradition of setting up stalls on Renmin Road has been around for a long time, and it is not easy for it to continue to this day. It is precisely because Dali is so inclusive in accepting people from all over the world that many young people fall in love with this land and stay there and don't want to leave.

It's interesting to take a walk around.

A street in the ancient city of Dali, lined with shops.

It costs about 10 yuan to take a Didi from the East Gate of Dali Ancient City to Renmin Road. Of course, you can also walk there, which is about 2 kilometers. The ancient city is surrounded by a strong commercial atmosphere.

I've heard before that Renmin Street is a holy place for street vendors. When I got there, I saw that it was well managed and in good order.

By China-TravelNote users |

I found an interesting handmade market on Renmin Road. There are stalls everywhere. I heard that they used to be street vendors on Renmin Road, but later the city management took control and they moved indoors. You can take a look.

At night, my favorite place is Renmin Road. I go there almost every night. Although there are still the same few shops, it is still nice to listen to music in front of the bar.

By Xiaoyang Chosen |

There are many interesting small shops concentrated at the lower end of Renmin Road, which may be snack shops, cafes or bars.

By acrazydeer |

There are still certain local characteristics, but I think the cultural characteristics of Dali are no longer just ethnic minority culture, but a rapidly developing and diversified city. Just like Renmin Road is no longer a simple Bai culture ancient street, the newly added national emerging elements make the ancient city exude new vitality. What we feel now is Dali's contemporary culture, such as snacks from all over the country, and those existing snacks and accessories unique to the old Dali. The combination of the two has created the new Dali today. Like bars, so many bars are modern products, but tourists who go on tours will choose to consume, so these new things are still necessary. From a tourist's perspective, I still like Dali now, the combination of new and old is beautiful.

By Wang Zhubao |

Apart from the houses, there should be no locals on Renmin Road.

The atmosphere is very commercial, with too many bars. At night, there is singing and dancing, but the songs are all folk songs that people are tired of listening to.

Fortunately, the buildings here are well maintained, and taking a walk inside is a unique experience.

Renmin Road is located in the central area of Dali Ancient City. It runs east-west and goes up a gentle slope from Erhai Gate, connecting Yeyu Road, Guangwu Road, Fuxing Road, and Boai Road. If you continue walking to the west of the ancient city, that is, the direction of Cangshan Mountain, you will walk out of the ancient city and reach National Highway 214. On both sides of the road are Bai ethnic minority houses, old courtyards, small shops and small alleys; there are also some street vendors. As the street vendors grow stronger, more and more problems arise, such as quarrels over land, disturbing residents, affecting students, and polluting the environment... The competent authorities began to dispatch urban management to rectify Renmin Road.

Dali will not die, but people will die. Whether you come or not, Dali will be there, neither sad nor happy; whether you leave or not, Dali will still be there, neither born nor dead.

By Kajie loves traveling |

This is the busiest street in the ancient city. When I went there in April, it was during the water quality rectification period, and this street was the only one with a lot of food.

By Tracy |

I really like Renmin Road, the quietness in the early morning, the crowds after 11 o'clock, and the brilliant lights at night. The shops on both sides have their own characteristics, exquisite, simple, elegant, and special. Compared with Lijiang Old Town, I like it here more. I should have stayed one more night.

By Travel photographer |

Renmin Road in Dali Ancient City is the most worthy of the name "Renmin Road" among all the people's roads I know. Of course, this is also relatively speaking. All under heaven belongs to the king, and Dali cannot escape all the unreasonable things that are common in this country, but relatively speaking, this Renmin Road is still worthy of the name.

Renmin Road goes from east to west, all the way from Erhai Gate to Cangshan Mountain, with a slight slope. Most of the old houses and courtyards on both sides of the road are old, and there are also some small alleys with twists and turns. Sometimes when walking on Renmin Road, you will stop inadvertently and look deep into the alleys, and you will always sigh at the vicissitudes of time. The two towering white walls are gradually getting old under the touch of moss and dust, with kind eyes. On the green tiles on the top of the wall, there are always colorful flowers outside the wall, adding new words to this old house.

By Double trip |

The main commercial street in Dali Ancient Town has bars, shops, accommodation and restaurants, and is crowded at night.

By Ten plus one |

I rented an electric scooter at the hotel (PS: I found many rental shops in the ancient city after entering, which was 20 yuan cheaper than the hotel (50 yuan)). Basically, I walked around and rode the electric scooter. Some sections of the road were not allowed to ride electric scooters. I basically walked around in an afternoon.

By lvxiyao |

This is my favorite street in Dali Ancient Town because the surrounding buildings are probably the oldest and best preserved.

By Little fox demon |

Renmin Road is really lively at night! It's a bar street!

By A Solo Trip |

Renmin Road is a very prosperous street in Dali Ancient Town, mainly bars, shops and restaurants. The consumption on Renmin Road is not low. A bowl of rice noodles there starts at 20 yuan. On the first night, a bowl of fried noodles at the food city at the end of Renmin Road also costs 20 yuan. The commercialization of Dali Ancient Town is quite serious now. Compared with Lijiang, Dali has its own unique aspects. It should be said that it is a little quieter than Lijiang Ancient Town. You can walk around the ancient town when you have nothing to do, which is also a unique experience.

By NuoNuo |

Before I went to Renmin Road, I imagined that it was the same as the road in Lijiang Ancient Town. Walking on Renmin Road is actually quite different from Lijiang. I saw all kinds of people. Some were like wandering poets, with dreadlocks all over their heads, sitting casually on the roadside; some were like corporate white-collar workers, wearing shiny leather shoes and meticulous expressions, filling the lively night mixed in Renmin Road. The stinky tofu was really delicious, and it was the first time I had the turmeric-colored dipping sauce. I chatted with the people who set up stalls selling handicrafts on the roadside, talking about the past glory of Renmin Road, which is now a bit dilapidated and clichéd. But it doesn't matter, maybe in a few years, Renmin Road will be another scene. In fact, there are a lot of snacks on Renmin Road, but because I ate too many snails in Erhai Lake and had diarrhea, I could drink porridge. The big golden retriever who lives in the inn in the ancient city is called Maomao, the owner of the Spring Inn. Very cute, fluttering, I went to walk the dog, but was walked by the dog.

Renmin Road is the most famous street in Dali Ancient Town. Several famous restaurants in the ancient town are on this street, such as Zai Huishou. There is also a bar, GALA, on this street. However, the sanitation is still a bit worrying. There are very few people setting up stalls. "Fenghuaxueyue: Love is by the Erhai Lake" http://www.mafengwo.cn/i/6632990.html

Snack Street

We ate all the way, and made some special preparations when we went there. There are many recommended shops on China-TravelNote.

But I can't get used to the food in Dali. There is only one small stall selling tofu. The hot sauce there is really good. As a Sichuan girl, I love it.

I am not used to the famous Rushan and Diaomeikourou. If you like milk and sweets, you can try them.

Also, the strawberries in Dali are very sweet and delicious, and they are also very cheap at the fruit stalls in the ancient city, 10 RMB per box.

There is a Doraemon restaurant in the middle of Renmin Road. It is a bit like cold skewers and tastes good. You can try it.

In Dali, you will find that street stalls and night markets are also a kind of culture and pursuit.

By Little Hedgehog |

The bars and street vendors on Renmin Road are very famous. It is very lively at night. There are many bars and many foreigners living in Dali setting up street vendors. You may find unexpected small items. I was attracted by the singing of the singer "On the Road", so I went in to sit for a while. The consumption is average, there is no minimum consumption, and the prices are clearly marked. On the Road cocktail is 120 yuan/cup, Long Island iced tea is 90 yuan/cup, and French fries are 50 yuan/portion

By Padding |

There is still a breath of life on Renmin Road. There are schools, vegetable markets, and old houses. There are not only tourists but also local people living there.

By chris |

The street stalls on Renmin Road are all small stalls selling small items. They are small in scale, but the entire ancient city is full of small shops. In comparison, this street stall is more commercialized and has no special features.

There are a lot of small things in this kind of place. Even if you know there is nothing to buy, you will still go there to look around.

Renmin Road in Dali Ancient City is always bustling no matter morning or night. It is quite lively. After returning the electric bike after visiting Huanhai West Road, I went directly here. On the wide stone road, eating snacks, looking at various Bai ethnic buildings, and listening to the cheerful flow of the stream, it was quite relaxing. When I was playing, I happened to meet the children of Dali No. 1 Middle School after school. The stone road was instantly crowded with children in school uniforms, intertwined with tourists from all over the world, which was quite interesting. Occasionally, I could hear tourists envious of the students, envious that they could live in the ancient city every day~

It should be considered a must-visit in the ancient city. You can see the scenery during the day and feel the people at night. The main road of the ancient city is becoming more commercialized. Many ancient cities look the same. Renmin Road at night is free of tourist groups. There are warm night lights and music from the bar. Sometimes the music is continuous. The air is filled with moisture and the aroma of food. It is worth a visit.

In the whole Dali Ancient City, my favorite place to visit is Renmin Road, because the hotel I stayed in is close to Renmin Road, and I would visit it almost every night. There are many shops on both sides of Renmin Road, and each has its own style. The bars and pubs are not very large, and the singers will sing softly, attracting passing tourists. There are also many restaurants, such as Xiaoduan Kitchen, which are all on this street, and there are many small food shops. Compared with the main street of Dali Ancient City, Renmin Road is narrower, but more flavorful and more refined.

I like it very much!! I highly recommend it! But it's best not to go during the peak tourist season. It would be boring if there were tour groups and tourists on a small street. Renmin Road is not very long, but short. There is a big flower stall at the corner of the street. The flowers are really beautiful, but you can't take them away if you want to play with them for a few days. There are also many tea shops inside, and the tie-dye ones are all good. You can go there to negotiate the price if you need them.

Some people say that Diaosi Street on Renmin Road in Dali is the soul of the ancient city, so I have to go and take a look out of curiosity.

Exotic customs, street performers, and some of them were carrying backpacks? I didn’t quite understand, all kinds of young people were setting up stalls, and for a moment I really wanted to join them.

By Swirling Water |

I have been to many ancient cities, but Renmin Road is the most impressive. There are many shops here, and you can see street vendors, but it is not too commercial. Maybe the practitioners are all young people, and the overall atmosphere is closer to the taste of literary youth. I walked back and forth several times, and everything I saw was new and interesting. No wonder a colleague resigned and ran to Renmin Road to open a barbecue shop. If you go to Renmin Road, remember to take a look, it's not bad!

By i love you |

The soul of the ancient city is on this road. Go to fewer bars and walk more on Renmin Road to get to know Dali better. In the morning when there are few people, take a look at her real appearance, and maybe you will have some special gains. Gradually after the sun rises, more and more people setting up stalls and tourists come, and the bustle of the day begins. At one o'clock in the evening, find a bookstore to read quietly, or listen to wandering singers singing, visit various shops, find a place to sit down and watch people coming and going, chat with people setting up stalls... It's all a kind of fun, a kind of life, a kind of freedom.

By Greedy |

Dali's street stall culture is unique. There are all kinds of people on Renmin Road, which should be the most vibrant road in Dali. However, it has now been occupied by outsiders.

By Snow Lotus |

Renmin Road is the main street of Dali Ancient City and the most prosperous street in the ancient city. This road is about 1.5 kilometers long, with cafes, restaurants, and various small shops on both sides. In addition, there are all kinds of novel stalls and singing singers on the street every night, which makes it very lively. When visiting Dali Ancient City, Renmin Road is a place that every tourist will not miss. Strolling along the street, the shops on both sides are mainly antique shops, handicraft shops, bars, bookstores, etc., and each one is interesting. There are often independent musicians singing their own songs on the street, and there are many craftsmen selling their own works on the stalls. There are often many flower farmers selling flowers in the middle section of Renmin Road, which is enough to show the love of Dali people for flowers and plants, and also makes the whole street look more literary. If you want to eat, there are also many choices on Renmin Road. There are petty-bourgeois Western restaurants and good local Yunnan dishes. Bai nationality private dishes, potato soup, grilled fish, cross-bridge rice noodles and other specialties must not be missed.

It's just that there are no more street vendors now, and it's much quieter.

By Couple No. 30 |

Renmin Road is a relatively bourgeois street in the ancient city. In a beverage shop at the lower part of Renmin Road, a big golden retriever has been standing at the door to greet customers. I ordered their red bean double skin milk, which tasted great. The quantity was sufficient, and I finished it all by myself. There is also a Taiwanese grilled sausage at the lower part, with many flavors, pure meat sausage, and two are enough to fill you up. I personally like spicy sausage. There are many fly restaurants along the road, which are not recommended, and they always feel unclean. There are several Yunnan restaurants along the street, with a good environment and an average of about 100 per person. You can refer to Dianping. There are also favorite jewelry stores and clearance clothing stores. You must shop carefully to buy good goods that meet your needs. If you only have one day in Dali, you can go to Cangshan in the morning, go to the ancient city after going down the mountain, and eat snacks along the way. There are also fruit stalls, where you can buy some wax apples, green dates and tamarinds, and it is very pleasant to eat and walk around.
