Shuanglong Bridge is located 3 kilometers west of Jianshui City. The Lujiang River and the Tachong River meet here, like two winding dragons, hence the name. Shuanglong Bridge was first built during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. At that time, it only had three holes. Later, due to the flooding of the river, the riverbed was gradually widened. In the 19th year of Daoguang (1839), 14 holes were built, which were connected end to end with the original three-hole bridge, so it is also called "17-hole bridge". The bridge is 9 meters high and 148 meters long. There is an exquisite pavilion in the middle and south end of the bridge. Shuanglong Bridge is the largest and most artistically valuable ancient bridge in Yunnan. It occupies an important position in the history of bridges in my country and is a key cultural relic protection unit in Yunnan Province.

Shuanglong Bridge, commonly known as the "Seventeen-Arch Bridge", is a large stone arch bridge with three pavilions and seventeen arches. It spans the water surface where the Lujiang River and the Tachong River meet, and is named because the two rivers meander like a dragon. This bridge is considered to be the largest and most artistically valuable multi-arch bridge in Yunnan Province, and has been included in the history of Chinese bridge construction. There are many ancient bridges in my country, and their shapes are also ever-changing, such as the Zhaozhou Bridge, the Lugou Bridge, the Luoyang Bridge, the Guangji Bridge, and the "Seventeen-Arch Bridge" in the Summer Palace. Whether single-arch or multi-arch, they all have one common feature: symmetry. The unique feature of Shuanglong Bridge is asymmetry. The reason is that as the river channel becomes wider, the length of the bridge has also changed from the earliest three arches to seventeen arches. The three pavilions on the bridge have experienced war, reconstruction, and damage, and only two pavilions remain today. The Shuanglong Bridge has many special features: the width of the bridge deck is different; the length of the arch span is different; the length of the piers that divide the water is different... Although the shape of the Shuanglong Bridge is strange and weird, it does not affect the beauty of the bridge at all. Isn't it amazing!

It is difficult to see the beautiful sunset at Shuanglong Bridge during the rainy season in Yunnan.

We passed Shuanglong Bridge twice. The first time, it was cloudy and it was going to rain heavily so we didn’t stop.

Later, when the sky was cloudy, I went there

We walked around Shuanglong Bridge, but it started to rain heavily.

Jianshui Seventeen-Arch Bridge, commonly known as Shuanglong Bridge, is located 5 kilometers west of Jianshui Ancient City, spanning the intersection of Lujiang River and Tachong River. This ancient bridge was built during the Qing Dynasty and is a famous historical site in Yunnan. The ancient bridge has a total of 17 arches connected, and there are three-story pavilions on the bridge. It looks ancient and very impressive, and looks like a large ship floating on the water from a distance.

The most famous thing about Jianshui Ancient City is the Seventeen-Arch Bridge outside the city (which reminds me of the Thirty-Three-Arch Bridge in Iran)

Three arches were first built during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, and 14 arches were added during the Daoguang period. It is the oldest bridge in Yunnan.

The Seventeen-Arch Bridge is actually quite far from Jianshui Ancient City. You can either take a sightseeing train or charter a car to get there, which is not very convenient, but it is worth the trip. Shuanglong Bridge is the most beautiful ancient building along the way the train passes. The quaint building is also shining under the sunlight.

In my opinion: there is actually no need to take the train. You only need to appreciate the attractions along the way at Shuanglong Bridge. The other attractions are not very meaningful.

Shuanglong Bridge is also called the Seventeen-Arch Bridge. There are three eaves-style pavilions in the middle of the bridge. The middle one has three floors and there is a pavilion on each side. You can get off the train to take pictures and walk around for 20 minutes to half an hour. The conductor will remind you to get off the train and inform you of the stay time. There will also be people to explain. You can cross the bridge and walk around it, which should take about the same amount of time.

Jianshui Seventeen-Arch Bridge, also known as the Double Dragon Bridge, spans the water surface where the Lujiang River and the Tachong River meet. According to historical records, this bridge was not built all at once. Three arches were built during the reign of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty, and fourteen arches were built during the reign of Emperor Daoguang, so it is commonly known as the "Seventeen-Arch Bridge". It is a good place to take pictures of the sunrise at the Seventeen-Arch Bridge. Because this bridge is old, it is recommended to go and see it.

This is an ancient city with a long history and well preserved. It is really worth a visit. The scenery is nice, but parking is difficult in the surrounding area. The free parking area is unattended and congested, so you can't get in or out. The fee is 20 yuan with no time limit, which feels a bit unreasonable.

Jianshui Seventeen-Arch Bridge is a great place that does not require tickets and has free parking. Walk slowly along the banks of the river. There is a meter-gauge railway next to it, bunches of papayas on the roadside, and many small vendors at the bridgehead. I bought pickled pears, which looked good but turned out to be salty and sweet; the sugar cane next to it was delicious and very sweet.

There are quite a lot of people visiting the Seventeen-Arch Bridge. The entire bridge is connected to the sky and water. The sky reflects the clouds and the water reflects the sky, with the bridge in the middle, which is particularly beautiful.

It's nice to see the scenery on the bridge and by the river, and to identify the differences between the new bridge and the old bridge.

It is very beautiful. When you get off the bridge, follow the guide who will explain the history of the bridge. There are several photo spots beside the bridge where you can go to see the beauty of the light and the blue sky and white clouds.

This is the first stop that the meter-gauge train arrives at. The bridge is built with huge stones. From a distance, it looks like a ship, and from a close distance, it looks like a rainbow lying on the waves. The stop time at Shuanglong Bridge Station is about half an hour, which is enough time to visit Shuanglong Bridge.

By Gray and white orchid |

The first stop of the meter-gauge train is the Seventeen-Arch Bridge. It is very beautiful, with fast-flowing water under the bridge. Unfortunately, it was a cloudy day as it has been raining recently. The river water was very turbid when the water level rose, and it was not as clear as it would be in sunny days.

Shuanglong Bridge is the largest ancient stone bridge in China. There are pavilions and terraces on the bridge, which are very beautiful. Unfortunately, it is under renovation recently and cannot be viewed from close up. Worth it!

By Ekship |

It is located in the west of Jianshui County, not far from the county town (about 10 kilometers from the bus station). Public transportation is not convenient. We went there during the Spring Festival in 2017 and hired a taxi for 60 yuan round trip. It is quite attractive and the scenery is good. The photo was taken around 4 pm.

By Jump forward 1261 |

The Shuanglong Bridge is really beautiful under the sunset, with blue sky, green water, yellow bridge, green willows on both sides, and the wind chimes on the three-story pavilion in the bridge make clear and pleasant sounds in the wind. The sunset outlines the clear outline of the Shuanglong Bridge

By A desolate |

Jianshui Seventeen-Arch Bridge (Shuanglong Bridge) is pretty good and worth seeing, but I had seen photos of it before going there, so my expectations were quite high, but after going there, I slightly lowered my score. Driving from Shuanglong Bridge to Tuanshan, there are many ancient bridges on the river along the way. I wonder if you have noticed them? Although none of them are as beautiful and exquisite as Shuanglong Bridge, such as the Jianlong Bridge in the last picture, it is already pretty good, but it is still worse than Shuanglong Bridge, and it is already dilapidated. But it feels good to get off the car occasionally to take a look and walk around.

By Cherry tomatoes |

It's quite close to the ancient city, the place is not big, the environment is good and there are few people.

By loong |

I saw the road sign on the yellow panel car from Tuanshan Village to Huanglong Temple and from Huanglong Temple to Jianshui City, so I simply got off the car to take a look (I didn't catch the millet track, but the round-trip fare by van was less than 20 yuan). It was nearly 6 o'clock in the afternoon. At first glance, I felt the west wind on the ancient road and the setting sun. Walking on the bridge felt a sense of vicissitudes. Walking on the smooth stone slabs, listening to the wind chimes on the bridge tower, and watching the water sparkling in the sun, it was quite pleasant. However, there was some garbage on the bridge, and there were graffiti on the walls of the building. But since I came here, I should see everything I should see.

It is only 3 or 4 kilometers from Jianshui County. It is hard to get used to the change from the noisy Jianshui Ancient City to the beautiful scenery, tranquility and comfort. It is still this kind of place with less commercial atmosphere that attracts people. It is also nice to sit quietly across the bridge and enjoy the breeze for a while.

It is 155 meters long and 3 meters wide, and is entirely inlaid with flat stones. A three-story attic with flying eaves is built on the bridge, 20 meters high. There is a bridge pavilion at each end of the bridge, which complements the pavilion. There are buildings within buildings, and eaves outside eaves, and they are exquisitely carved. Looking at the bridge from a distance, it looks like a long dragon lying on the waves, which is a precious masterpiece in the history of Chinese bridge construction.

On the way back to Jianshui by minibus from Tuanshan Village, you will pass by Shuanglong Bridge. You can get off here to visit Shuanglong Bridge. After the visit, you can walk to the other side of the bridge to the old road and take the bus from Huanglong Temple to Jianshui back to Jianshui. The last bus of this bus leaves at around 20:00, so you can watch the sunset leisurely.

The sunset at Shuanglong Bridge is unforgettable. Step onto the polished bluestone slabs and walk to the attic in the middle of the bridge, and the scenery of Lujiang River will unfold on both sides of you. The breeze blows by, and the crisp sound of the copper bells on the eaves can be heard from time to time. The bluestone slabs of the ancient bridge in the sunset, the copper bells in the river breeze and the ancient attic, the artistic conception is irresistible even for those who are not so keen on ancient buildings, especially since this place is rarely visited by tourists.

The copper bell was blown by the wind, and the crisp sound of the bell, accompanied by the afterglow of the setting sun shining on the bridge, was an experience so beautiful, so beautiful, so beautiful.

Jianshui Seventeen-Arch Bridge, also known as Shuanglong Bridge and Sange Seventeen-Arch Stone Arch Bridge, is known as the largest and most artistically valuable multi-arch bridge in Yunnan Province. The weather was not very good when I came here. The map shows that it is not far from the city. It is a transfer station to Yuanyang. It should be more beautiful if the weather is good. The first stop of the Jianshui tourist train is the "Shuanglong Bridge", also known as the Seventeen-Arch Bridge.

When we arrived at the first stop, Shuanglong Bridge Station, the tour guide led us to get off the bus and look for the most frontal angle to take photos of all 17 holes of the bridge piers. However, the clouds in the sky were not directly behind the bridge, but behind the left, so the frontal photo of Shuanglong Bridge was not good.

In order to show the clouds behind Shuanglong Bridge, I continued to walk forward and took photos in front of the right side of the bridge. Although the view in front of me was blocked by some plants, I just took it as the foreground of the picture.

I have almost finished taking pictures of the bridge’s exterior, let’s go up the bridge and take a look.

The pavilions at both ends of the Shuanglong Bridge are very tall and cool inside, so many tourists and local residents come inside to enjoy the cool air.

Let me start with the key point. Don't follow the official navigation. It's wrong. You will be directly navigated to the village. You must search for Jianshui Seventeen-Arch Bridge. It's easy to enter the village by searching for Shuanglong Bridge. Then after a lot of trouble, I accidentally ran into the train station. I was lucky. The scenery is still good and the overall scenery is quite spectacular, but there is construction around it, and there is a lot of dust when the wind blows.

We arrived at Shuanglong Bridge, the southern part of Jianshui Ancient City, in the evening.

By Laughing Snow |

On the second day in Jianshui, I really saw the quaint side of Jianshui. I rushed to Shuanglong Bridge early in the morning. It was the right choice to have breakfast after filming. Whether it is to see the beautiful scenery or to take pictures of the beautiful scenery, early morning is always the best choice. Only in the early morning, avoiding the crowds, can you see the original and quaint side of the ancient city. This is the experience I have gained from shooting in various ancient cities, towns and villages for many years.

Shuanglong Bridge is located 5 miles west of the ancient city of Jianshui. Willows swaying in the wind grow on the riverbank. Shuanglong Bridge is a large stone arch bridge with three pavilions and 17 arches, so it is also called the Seventeen-Arch Bridge. It spans the water surface where the Lujiang River and the Tachong River meet, so it is named after the meaning of locking two dragons in one bridge. It has been included in the history of Chinese bridge building. You can view the bridge from all sides, and you can choose to shoot in the front light or against the light whether it is sunrise or sunset. Park the car next to it and walk onto the bluestone-paved bridge. The quaint stone bridge and the old trees beside the bridge piers are telling its history.

I have to say that we had good weather. The sun gave us enough face and hid behind the clouds. The clouds acted as a softening cover. Only under this kind of light can we take such beautiful reflections and layered photos.

By Go your own way |

Climbing up the Shuanglong Bridge, you will find many special features: the width of the bridge deck is different; the length of the arch span is different; the length of the bridge piers is different. It is said that the Shuanglong Bridge was first built during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. At that time, only three arches were built on the Hujiang River. Later, due to the flooding of the Hujiang River and the Ta Chong River, the riverbed gradually widened. The three-arch bridge was alone in the river and could not cross the two banks. In the 19th year of Daoguang (1839), fourteen arches were built and connected to the original three-arch bridge end to end, forming a whole, so it is also called the "Seventeen-arch Bridge".

The key bridge is still beautiful. Look at the current bridge. It has been three months. Look at the bridge of Lao Wang's family! I won't say more. Go, my friends!

A free attraction, right on the roadside, with very beautiful scenery at sunset.

This is the best place to take photos in Jianshui, no doubt about it.

Shuanglong Bridge is a must-visit place in Jianshui. I don't know if there are any shuttle buses passing by here. Apart from the shuttle bus, if you want to go there, you can only take a taxi or ride a bike. It takes about 20 minutes to ride a bike, and it is still a certain distance. If you want to see the sunrise and sunset, you can only ride a bike by yourself. In addition, you can also take the Lin'an train, but the train is for sightseeing, the ticket price is 100, the departure time and the stay time are regulated, and it only stays for half an hour. If you just take it to see Shuanglong Bridge, it is not cost-effective. It is recommended that if conditions permit, it is best to watch the sunrise and sunset of Shuanglong Bridge once. It is really beautiful, and this place is very quiet. There are pastoral scenery nearby. The scenery along the way from the ancient city to Shuanglong Bridge is also very good.
