Highly recommended! I expected it to be just a typical song and dance performance, but it completely exceeded my expectations! The evening was divided into three parts: buffet, performance, lantern display, and party. The entire show perfectly showcased the folk songs and dances, customs, and costumes of Banna and the entire Lancang-Mekong River Basin (including Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and others). In short, I highly recommend everyone to come and see it if you have the time; it's definitely worth the trip! Considering my parents, I bought VIP tickets for 380 RMB per person, which was a fantastic value. Firstly, despite the long line at the entrance, we were able to proceed directly to the ticket gate. The buffet was also exclusively on the second floor, and the food was truly sumptuous. Besides the singing and dancing, a highlight of the evening was the host, who interacted with the international audience in various ways, entertained them with jokes, and even invited "lucky" guests to experience the hospitality of the Dai people, bringing endless joy to everyone present. The stage setting was exquisitely detailed and uniquely designed, which was truly eye-catching. Every performer was dedicated and professional, smiling throughout, and perfectly interpreting the charm of dance and the characteristics of different ethnic groups. It was truly amazing!
There was a lantern-lighting event after the party. Although the lanterns were very simple and there were a lot of people after the party, haha~ But in that situation, I really felt like I wanted to make a wish devoutly.
After the lantern-lighting event, people from all directions gathered in the square. A bonfire was lit in the middle, and one person built a bonfire, forming a circle that got bigger and bigger. Everyone followed the Dai girls in dancing the local dance in unison, with enthusiasm and great fun.
It seems that at that moment, all worries can be temporarily put aside, just indulge yourself~
The main purpose is to enjoy folk songs, dances and performances. The whole evening show combines ethnic customs, exotic scenery, and humorous live interactions, showing the audience the multicultural Xishuangbanna.
The host of the party was quite funny, and there were segments in the program where the audience was invited to participate, which was very interesting.
After the performance, each person received a water lantern and walked through a pitch-black forest. The tall tropical plants around us were blurred and indistinct. The long line, each holding a small lantern, was quite impressive. Finally, we arrived at the lake. We found a spot, silently made a wish, and slowly released the lantern into the lake. The gentle ripples carried the lantern's beautiful wishes as it drifted slowly toward the center of the lake.
People danced joyfully around the bonfire, led by performers in ethnic minority costumes and a host. Everyone moved and danced to the rhythm. After about three or four rounds, the performance concluded. Indeed, this evening showcased the singing and dancing prowess, the passion, and the unrestrained spirit of the ethnic minorities. Yueyue believed it would be filled with mystery. All in all, the evening passed with joy and happiness.
The bonfire party features unique ethnic minority song and dance performances and includes a sumptuous dinner. Afterward, visitors can watch the water lantern festival. Finally, visitors can dance with the handsome men and beautiful women from the ethnic minorities, creating a truly wonderful and memorable bonfire party.
A must-visit place when you arrive in Xishuangbanna. It is recommended to come at night!
The VIP seats are high up, the location is good, the experience is good, and the performance is also good.
The value for money was extremely poor. The pre-show buffet was truly terrible, worse than a three-star hotel breakfast. As for the performance, it depends on your personal preference; I'm not particularly artistic, so I wasn't a big fan. Afterward, there was a formal lantern display and bonfire party. I imagined about a hundred people circling around a large fire.
The quality of the party was pretty good, but the dining hall was terrible. If you are afraid of crowds, be careful not to enter.
It was completely pointless. I just paid to watch a Spring Festival Gala. At first, some people were recording, but by the end, everyone was just on their phones. Especially after watching "A Romance Through the Ages," watching this felt like throwing money away. I'm not exaggerating. The whole thing was just dancing and the host spouting dirty jokes and awkward conversation. The bonfire party had no ethnic flavor at all; it felt like a bar scene full of booing. Extremely disappointing.
I personally think the show is okay, but the price is not worth it.
The performance includes a buffet meal, and the best thing about it is the noodles... "Lancang-Mekong Night" showcases dances from various ethnic groups and Southeast Asian countries. The choreography is good, but it feels a bit monotonous. People who don't have a high level of artistic aesthetics should not go. You won't understand it, and after watching it, you won't be able to remember which ethnic group or country is which...
After the dance, the final segment was the release of animals and a "national square dance." The release was incredibly formal, with everyone holding a candle and looking back like brainwashed cultists. The square dance at the end was even more awkward. Aside from the host's enthusiasm, the audience wasn't particularly engaged. The lead dancer danced mechanically, without a trace of expression.
The children watched it with great interest and said it was very interesting. Personally, I think the performance is good and full of exotic customs.
After the performance, each person received a water lantern and walked through a dark blackheart forest. The tall tropical plants around them were blurry and unclear. The long team had a little light in their hands, which was quite impressive to watch.
To be honest, the buffet there is really expensive and unpalatable, but the buffet fee is included in the ticket price. If you eat it, you will lose money, but if you don’t eat it, you will lose a lot!
The performances are worth watching. There are performances by various ethnic minorities in Xishuangbanna and performances with ethnic characteristics from surrounding countries. The children are also very excited to watch them.
After the performance, each person will have a wishing lantern and go to the lake to make a wish. After making a wish, they will participate in the bonfire party.
More than 200 yuan for a ticket... There is a buffet for ethnic minorities, performances, and bonfires... But it is full of commercial atmosphere everywhere...
It is a very large theater, and the overall dance includes the ethnic groups that have lived in Jinghong for generations and several countries through which the Lancang River flows.
The interactive part was okay.
I don't know why all the dances are about love. Ethnic minorities are very open-minded and far surpass the traditional Confucian concepts of love held by the Han Chinese. Everyone likes it, so over time, the songs and dances have mostly expressed the diverse youth culture of ethnic minorities. :)
Their clothes are so beautiful. But the ones available in the market aren't very good. The most common clothing I see in Jinghong is from the Shui Dai. I've never seen any from the Huayao Dai. :( Clothing from other ethnic groups is even rarer. Or are we just not going to the right place? Can anyone tell me where I can buy decent ethnic minority clothing?
I'm getting off topic. I highly recommend watching the Mekong River Show. Choosing between regular and VIP tickets is a matter of personal preference. VIP tickets are in the first row, while VIP tickets start from the third row and go five or six rows back, mid-show. Buying tickets early will give you a better seat; buying later that evening will definitely be a big difference.
The simple meals for ordinary tickets are really simple meals, while the VIP tickets have a buffet and the dining time is longer.
The lantern-giving activity afterwards was not well organized and quite messy, so children should be careful.
The atmosphere at the final bonfire party was good, with dancers leading the dance and some dancing inside.
I'll review the Dai show later and compare it to this one. It's a completely different style. It's basically technology, acrobatics, and a love story about an ethnic minority. The songs and dances have nothing to do with ethnicity.
This performance is a must-see, it's very shocking. There will be many activities in the evening.
Very good, very funny, the Han male host said 666~
I didn't like watching performances, but I had no choice but to watch them since I was traveling with a tour group. I was pleasantly surprised to experience the customs and costumes of various ethnic minorities in a short period of time. I love studying these things.
Definitely watch it when you have time~
It's a place worth visiting. The dances of the ethnic minorities in Xishuangbanna and several surrounding countries were brought to the stage. It was quite impressive. Behind the stage was the Lancang River. However, you have to buy tickets in advance. Otherwise, the viewing effect of the A-class tickets you buy will definitely not be as good as that of the VIP or VIP tickets. We didn't buy any. There was also a bonfire party after the show. I personally felt that the effect was average and not that fun. The show was still good.
Personally, I think it is worth seeing. There are dances of many ethnic groups. My favorite is the Dai dance "Light of Bayeux". The ticket also includes dinner, which is not bad. There is also a water lantern ceremony after the party, and then there is a bonfire party. A group of people who know each other and don't know each other gather together to dance and sweat to their heart's content.
The Bonfire Night package includes a buffet, a performance, admission to Manting Park, and a wishing lantern release. The buffet is only included for viewing, and the performance itself is somewhat unique, but after seeing many of these shows, you'll find it lacks any particular highlights. The wishing lantern release after the performance was a highlight. Each participant received a wishing lantern and followed a guide to the wishing fountain behind the stage to release their lantern. The twinkling lights, combined with the elaborate lighting and fountains, created a dazzling effect.
The color wisdom and enthusiasm of the nation must be said to belong only to them.
First of all, I went there to watch the water lanterns, but the water lanterns were of very poor quality, the ticket price was not cheap, and you had to donate money to receive the water lanterns for blessing. All in all, I was very disappointed with the water lanterns. As for the evening party, I personally felt it was just average. It would be better to watch the Dai show. Moreover, the buffet there was quite unpalatable. At first, I thought we would eat while watching the show, but it turned out that everyone had to eat in a big cafeteria before entering to watch the show. The bonfire segment at the end was even more intoxicating. So many people were dancing around a funny bonfire. After watching for a while, we retreated to the night market to eat. I just want to say that none of them were satisfactory. I suggest that those who go there think twice.
A party full of handsome men and beautiful women, you must go to it
I personally think it's average, no need to go out of your way to watch it.
The gala, titled "Lancang-Mekong Night," brought together the cultural characteristics of the six Lancang-Mekong River basin nations: China, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam. It also included folk performances by the Dai, Jinuo, Bulang, Lahu, Yao, and Hani ethnic minorities, who have inhabited Xishuangbanna for generations. The show blended ethnic customs, exotic landscapes, and humorous live interactions, showcasing a vibrant and multicultural Xishuangbanna. Lazy Pig's travelogue, "Lazy Pig Journey," was published on China-TravelNote. You can check out the detailed guide here. The gala also included a delicious buffet, and the show was a delightful experience. Highly recommended.
It is indeed a wonderful and high-standard performance. It is a pleasure to come to Banna to watch Mengbala Naxi, and it is worth seeing.
If you go to Jinghong, you can go there. The singing and dancing are quite good and the host is very humorous.
Very good experience! The interaction was very good, and the organizers arranged it in an orderly manner! There were many people, and everyone danced together 👯 and circled. It felt really good 😊 Highly recommended
Absolutely, absolutely, you have to go. It's so spectacular. Different style.
Very ethnic minority characteristics, really good performance
It was so exciting!!! It was a very happy experience~
On the way back, our guide, Abu, recommended the Manting Park Bonfire Party, an add-on. It cost around 150 yuan to book individually, or 80 yuan per person to join the tour. It started around 6:00 pm and ended around 9:00 pm. The itinerary included: ethnic minority welcome dance, buffet, song and dance party, water lantern release and blessing, and bonfire dance. Compared to the ticket price, it was a great value. Finally, everyone danced together in the square, which was quite lively.
The performance, "Mekong Night," was fantastic. After the show, everyone was given a prayer lantern, and tens of thousands of these lanterns merged into a spectacular sea of lights, flowing toward the river. Everyone was allowed to release lanterns by the river, and a giant Buddha statue shimmered in the center of the river, illuminated by LED lights. As the crowds continued to flow, a vast sea of joy formed around Manting Park. Dancers from the troupe dotted the crowds, moving visitors to dance to the music. Manting Park was like a giant stage, and every visitor was an actor on it. People sang and danced to their heart's content, and even as the night deepened, they were reluctant to leave.
I bought a 280 yuan ticket for the bonfire evening. It included a meal, a performance, a water lantern display, and a bonfire. The meal was a buffet and was average, but filling. The performances were fantastic, featuring various ethnic groups, and there were interactive sessions. The host was very entertaining. The water lantern display was beautiful, and everyone danced around the fire, having a blast. However, phones were not allowed.
When you come to Xishuangbanna, you must watch this bonfire party. This is the most ethnic characteristic of Banna, and you can eat, drink and play with one ticket.
The performance was good, and you could see costumes, songs and dances of different ethnic minorities.
Through song and dance performances, we learned about the customs and habits of several ethnic groups
The show was enjoyable, and the pre-show buffet is a must-try. Over 1,000 people scrambling for food is thrilling. There's a wide variety of food, and again, I emphasize not wasting food. The show lasted just over an hour and had a strong ethnic feel. Then there was the bonfire party, with over 1,000 people gathered in circles in the square, singing, dancing, and laughing. There was also the river lantern show, which was worth trying. The only problem was the price of admission, even with the 20% discount during the Spring Festival.
The content is very rich and worth playing, but the price is chaotic. It is recommended to book a one-day tour for Xiao Phai on China-TravelNote, and then add this show. It costs about 100 yuan. It is very expensive to book it separately. I bought it from a local for 150 yuan, which is also expensive.
v Mom just gave the customer a good look ujkpzhfg
This is one of Jinghong's evening activities, mostly for travelers brought in by travel agencies and chartered drivers; individual visitors are rare. The price is 280 yuan, so if you're interested, ask a local to buy it. The ticket includes a buffet, a singing and dancing party, a water lantern display, and a large-scale ethnic square dance. It's a great way to have some fun.
There are three types of ticket prices. We bought VIP, which was quite cheap and included dinner, a buffet, and the dishes were good.
The Mekong River Song and Dance Bonfire Party takes place at Manting Park, No. 35 Manting Road, Jinghong District, Xishuangbanna. There's a buffet dinner and a song and dance performance. The lineup is impressive, featuring not only dances from local ethnic minorities but also dances from Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, and other Southeast Asian countries.
It's good. Although the song "Songcheng Eternal Love" is so shocking, the host is very humorous, the folk dance is also good, and the river lantern and bonfire party are different. It's more interesting when there are more people.
The evening party is worth going to. I suggest everyone to watch it when they come.
But the ticketing issue was particularly infuriating. We were on a self-guided tour and saw a review from a friend that recommended contacting the following person to get a discount. So we contacted him to book the tickets and he asked us to add WeChat and pay a deposit first. He said someone would send us the tickets on the day of the party. As a result, the party was at 6:30 and we were waiting at the entrance of the scenic area at 5:50. After waiting for 50 minutes, someone contacted us and said that there were no VIP tickets for the first 5 rows, only general tickets from the 20th row onwards. The original price of the first 5 rows of tickets was 320 yuan per ticket. We agreed on 15 0/ticket, and now the general ticket is 150/ticket, and they said I can watch it or not. During the whole process, the person who collected our deposit did not answer the phone or reply to WeChat (the truth is in the picture below). Seeing that we could not enter the park, if we didn’t go today, we would leave Xishuangbanna tomorrow. After weighing the pros and cons, we still went in, but we felt very depressed. The most depressing thing was that the person deleted our WeChat, refused to receive messages, and we couldn’t even find the person. Alas, it’s all our fault for being too trusting. I’m writing this to remind everyone to be careful of this ticket scalper and not to be fooled.
P.S. I just found out today when I was writing this review that this ticket scalper registered accounts on major travel websites to promote his own products. Please be sure to avoid the ticket scalper with the phone number 15969199241.
We had a buffet first. There were so many people that it was hard to get food. After dinner, we went outside to the square and danced around the bonfire twice. Finally, we went in to watch the evening performance.
Yes, there are dances of 12 ethnic minorities, and then there are river lanterns and bonfire parties. It is very participatory and worth attending. It is much cheaper to ask a local tour guide to get tickets than to buy them yourself.
The noodles are 260 yuan, and the chef's is 220 yuan. It's not bad. It's in row 11, which is relatively close to the front.
Actually, you can also buy it on Meituan, it seems to be cheaper now
Arrive here at 6 o'clock, it's in Manting Park, less than 5 minutes' walk
Dai girls are still beautiful. There is a free buffet here.
It has nothing to do with authenticity, it just tastes fun, and we can't really eat much.
There were so many people that they ate everyone away in the end.
We followed the end of the team and ran to the performance hall
The whole process lasted more than 2 hours, like a drama, and the performance was pretty good.
I didn't take a photo because it was dark and the photos were not very clear.
At the end, we were asked to go out and release lotus lanterns. Each of us received a lotus lantern at the gate. Well, this scene was really spectacular. So many people moved outside. I also admired this place. To be honest, it was a bit dangerous. After all, it was something with fire. It was not easy for it to be carried out smoothly.
Seeing such a spectacular scene
It seems to be made with some high-tech
Afterwards I attended a bonfire party, which was not as primitive as I imagined.
There is a furnace similar to a tripod in the middle.
Then everyone danced around it, jumping around
Still very happy
At around 9:30, everyone dispersed and the host announced the end of the event.
At this time, I saw that the traffic jam at the entrance of Manting Park was terrible, and the exhaust fumes from the buses were roaring.
I walked back to the hotel and heard from the guy downstairs that the traffic was so congested every day.
Considering how wonderful the performance is, it is still necessary to go and see it.
This is a complete money-making scheme, which will only make people less willing to go to Banna.
I still like it. It's full of ethnic flavor. There are delicious food and unique performances. Of course, the most important thing is the bonfire party. It's spectacular and fun. The ethnic minorities wear their own unique costumes and enthusiastically pull you to dance with them. You don't need to have any dance skills or talent, you can naturally follow their steps and dance with them. It's a great experience!
It's pretty good, worth going. The host is interesting. The water lantern and bonfire party are both good, but the time is short.
Manting Park's "Lancang-Mekong River Night Song and Dance Bonfire Gala" is an innovative cultural industry program. In Xishuangbanna, a city steeped in water, numerous works revolve around the theme, and fire also holds a profound significance in folk art. Legend has it that during the hunting era, people discovered that fire not only cooked food but also repelled wild animals and protected life, thus developing a primal reverence for fire. Through the accumulation of long history and culture, a series of relatively fixed rituals, beliefs, and entertainment forms have emerged, encompassing blessings, friendships, and shared good wishes. The most prominent fire-related folk custom in Yunnan is the fire pit, the most famous fire-related festival is the Torch Festival, and the most popular fire-related artistic performance is undoubtedly the bonfire gala. Dancing and cheering around a bonfire initially served as an expression of faith, but later evolved into entertainment. The bonfire party in Manting Park used the element of "fire" to quickly capture the curiosity of tourists and audiences. Fire does not necessarily have to be a real scene. The most important thing is to have "fire in the heart" - a passion, belief and pursuit of a prosperous life.
The bonfire party at Manting Park was fantastic and a must-see. I highly recommend it! It was truly lively. Everyone ate together, all-you-can-eat, including pineapple rice, lemongrass grilled fish, chicken legs, rice noodles, and rice wine and lemonade. After watching the wonderful evening show, we released wishing lanterns and danced with the performers around the bonfire. It was a truly captivating experience, though it can get quite hot, so dress coolly. The show truly reflects Yunnan culture, incorporating elements from several neighboring countries. It was a truly wonderful visual feast.
The river connecting the three countries is full of cultural atmosphere!
Very good, with ethnic characteristics, highly recommended...
The 2,000-person large-scale Jiamusi performance was really shocking. Hahaha. The performance was very interactive and very family-friendly.
You need to find a local dealer to buy this ticket! When my family and I went there, he bought us the lowest price! The listing price was 280! He bought it for us for less than 100! Hahaha! Recommend it to everyone! WeChat 13116911927
Dance until you are sweating all over, no wonder the ethnic minority girls are slim
It's fun, even more exciting than what we've seen before.
It was a good trip. Singing and dancing in Xishuangbanna at night is a good choice. I took a lot of photos. It was more interesting than during the day. The ethnic customs are still beautiful.
The show was performed by Hong Kong's humorous host, and the audience was filled with laughter.
It's a beautiful place, and the actors performed very well. It's very beautiful and I love it.
La la la la la, highly recommended. Very humorous host, wonderful song and dance performances, I love their lighting effects, the Buddha statue looks like it's looking at you from any angle. Everyone can participate in the final dance, and it's not difficult to learn, it's especially fun... You can ask the inn owner to help book tickets and also take care of pick-up and drop-off, which is very convenient.
It was my first time to attend a bonfire party, and it was so much fun. Before the bonfire party, there was a buffet of special snacks, and a show showcasing ethnic minority customs. The host was super funny, and finally it was the bonfire party. Everyone, whether they knew each other or not, sang and danced together. It was such a great atmosphere and we had so much fun!
The "Lancang-Mekong River" large-scale song and dance bonfire party is a live outdoor performance. With its grand scale and impressive cast, it's well worth a visit. The performances and interactive activities are lively and exciting. Tickets include barbecue, rice noodles, and other meals, so you can enjoy a bite to eat and rice wine while watching the music and dance. At the end of the show, each person receives a river lantern and releases it into the Mekong River, creating a spectacular dragon of lanterns on the surface. Everyone can also join in the fun, dancing and dancing to the rhythm.
First, we had a buffet, which I'd rate as filling. The performance was truly mediocre. The dance consisted of a large group of performers in ethnic costumes leaping around on stage. The choreography seemed lacking, and I've always felt that ethnic minority dances were much better than this. The host tried desperately to liven up the atmosphere and crackle jokes, but the effect wasn't impressive. At the end, everyone lit river lanterns for blessings. As for the bonfire party, it rained the day we went, so it didn't happen. With the time and money, I'd be better off eating fruit and snacks at the night market.
I don’t particularly appreciate this type of evening party, but those who like watching evening parties can go.
In Manting Park, there was a very unique performance with a lot of interaction with the audience. Everyone was very happy and the purpose was achieved.
Song and dance remind us of our youth. Xishuangbanna's grand "Lancang-Mekong River" bonfire party is a must-see. Every evening, nearly a thousand people sing and dance in Manting Park, completely forgetting the fatigue of their journey. Two key features of the event are: a shared meal with thousands of people, offering free samples of Dai cuisine and rice noodles and rice wine; and the second half, the release of water lanterns. Everyone receives a free water lantern, forming a long dragon that slowly moves to the riverside, carrying good wishes downstream. Then, around the bonfire, everyone dances and twists to the rhythm and direction of the host, bringing the revelry to a climax.
It's worth a visit. The performance is pretty good. There is also interaction on site. The stage background is great.
The bonfire party was really fun. 2,500 people danced hand in hand in the square. It was so much fun. I was so busy dancing that I didn't take many photos.
A bunch of people were singing and dancing around the bonfire, it was so lively and it felt really good!
The tour group Miss Yang and I signed up for was decent, costing 480 yuan per person. However, we also attended a bonfire party and took a Lancang River cruise, which added 650 yuan per person. However, the extra expenses were very interesting. Both the party and the cruise included meals, especially the buffet-style meal. We ate fish until we were stuffed, and I really miss the pineapple rice. The performance on the cruise was also wonderful.
The food is delicious, such as pineapple rice and Dai cuisine.
The evening party was held in Manting Park, very close to Gaozhuang, about a ten-minute taxi ride away. It started promptly at 6:30 PM. After entering the park, we had a buffet, then watched a folk song and dance performance. After the performance, we released water lanterns (1 yuan per person), and then joined the bonfire party, which ended at 9 PM. The performance was okay, but not particularly understandable, as it was all folk dances. Aside from the Jinuo and Dai, which I could understand thanks to my understanding of their culture, I couldn't understand the others. There was an interactive segment in the middle that was quite funny, and the host was very good and eloquent.
