You can choose to take a bus or share a van from Shangri-La to Deqin County. I shared a van for both trips, which cost 70 yuan per person, about the same price as a bus. It was a green van with the words "Nongke" written on it. It was about an hour faster than a bus. It cost 30 yuan to charter a van to Feilai Temple after arriving in Deqin County.

The ticket to Feilai Temple Observation Deck is 40, valid for three days. But in fact, if you choose to stay in the row of hotels opposite the entrance of the observation deck, you don’t have to go to Feilai Temple. The view from the roof of each building is very good, so you can choose as appropriate.

It's sunny almost every day if you go there in winter, so you don't have to rely on luck, it's just a little cold.

The thirteen peaks of Meili Snow Mountain come into view without any obstruction. The snow-capped peaks glow with a cool light in the porcelain-blue sky. They are majestic, beautiful, distant and mysterious...

Prayer is still very useful. The golden light on the top of the mountain expands downward little by little, slowly illuminating the entire mountain. The main peak, Kawagebog, leads the 12 peaks to stand in front of you in golden glory. Even if you are not a believer, you feel that we are all blessed people, and all the hard work of the journey has vanished! Ajun told us that people who see the golden mountain in the sun when they first visit Meili Snow Mountain will be happy for the rest of their lives. We were originally scheduled to visit Mingyong Glacier today, but we were not interested. We decided to spend more time on the snow mountain and take as many photos as we could. A cloud belt was wrapped around the mountain. Ajun said this was Hada offering Meili. It was a different kind of beauty and a different feeling! It was a real bargain!

According to local residents, the chance of seeing the golden summit of Meili Snow Mountain in the sun is very high from early November to May of the following year, especially from January to February, because the air is relatively dry and fresh at this time.

The weather in mid-to-early October is not dry enough. The best time to see the Golden Mountain in the Rizhao Mountains is after late October. It starts to snow after November, and the temperature drops sharply, which is not conducive to travel. Therefore, I personally think that the period from late October to early November is more suitable! However, the snow coverage in Meili during this period is not large enough, which is also a shortcoming! We arrived in Meili on October 23rd. The weather was unbelievably good. There was no snow, and even a trace of cloud was hard to find. The temperature at night was above 0 degrees, and there was no hidden danger of ice on the road!

There are many viewing spots, so it is not necessary to go to Feilai Temple Observation Deck and Wunongding Observation Deck. Under the gloomy sky, the thirteen peaks of Meili Snow Mountain stand quietly in the distance, as if they have never changed.

There were many clouds on the Meili Snow Mountain that day, and we were all a little worried. As we waited, the sky began to turn slightly red, and the sun was about to come out. Gradually, a red glow appeared on the clouds on the top of the mountain, and slowly, the range became larger and larger. The top of the snow mountain was golden, as if it was burning. Everyone was intoxicated by this spectacular scene and forgot to talk. They just took their mobile phones and cameras to take pictures. How lucky we were to see the rare golden mountain in the sun! The golden mountain in the sun did not last long, only a dozen minutes, but was it worth it to come all the way for these ten minutes? Worth it!

It costs 50 yuan to enter the Feilai Temple observation deck (probably, because I didn't go in, I just glanced at the charging standard at the gate). In fact, staying in the hotel next to Feilai Temple, the location is higher and the view is better (second, third, fourth on the left in the picture). There are many such hotels, and the best ones are still 5 or 6 on the roadside, such as: Meili Past Hotel, Meili Yiju Hotel (these two are next to each other), Pearl Hotel, etc., with an observation deck on the roof. In the morning, you can see the sunrise on Jinshan Mountain. Feilai Temple is more than 10 kilometers away from Deqin County. The road is halfway up the mountain, flat, asphalt road, and good road conditions. If you take a taxi, the driver will charge 40 yuan, which is a bit high, but they rely on tourists' money, and they won't go if it's less than 40 yuan. We took a taxi to Feilai Temple and it cost 40 yuan. When we returned to Deqin County from Feilai Temple, we met a return taxi for 20 yuan.

Meili Snow Mountain is one of the eight sacred mountains in the hearts of Tibetans. They call it Kawagebo, or Ani Kawagebo (Grandpa Kawagebo). I remember there is a documentary that specifically records and narrates this beautiful snow mountain - "Kawagebo". Kawagebo Peak is a pilgrimage site for Tibetan Buddhism. Every year in late autumn and early winter, hundreds of Tibetans lead sheep and hold the corners to chant Buddhist scriptures and burn incense around the mountain to worship (turn the sutra). The scene is breathtaking. Tibetans have to worship a specific sacred mountain in different zodiac years. The mountain they specially turn around and worship in the year of the sheep is Meili Snow Mountain. We are climbing mountains, but the Tibetans' worship is almost on a flat surface around the foot of the mountain. I also learned this from watching a documentary. The "Sunshine Golden Mountain" of Meili Snow Mountain is a stunning beauty that many people want to see. You need to rely on luck and choose a good season and good weather to see it. Otherwise, you will be like some people and can't see it for a month.

The Rizhao Jinshan of Meili Snow Mountain is great, but other services are not up to par and need to be improved.

It was a pity that I only saw a little bit due to the weather, but I could imagine the magnificent scene.

The chances of seeing the golden mountain in the sun will be higher after November, but it will be very cold if you wait too late, with temperatures even below zero in the early morning, so you must be prepared to keep warm.

It is really beautiful, but not everyone who goes there can see it. You can't see it without the sun.

It exceeded my expectations. I felt that after seeing the Meili Snow Mountain, I didn't need to make a special trip to see other glaciers and snow-capped mountains (such as the Yulong Snow Mountain and the Midui Glacier).

Although I waited for two days but didn’t see Rizhao Kawagebo Peak, although the prices were not cheap, and although it took four hours to get there by car, it was worth it to see a different snow-capped mountain.

I passed by twice. It snowed in the middle of the night the first time, and I finally saw the sunrise on the second time. There are many stories about this mountain that has not been recorded by the government in the history of human mountaineering. Kawagebo is even more mysterious and awe-inspiring.

It is indeed a sacred mountain for Tibetans, and the scenery is particularly stunning.

Meili Snow Mountain has always been one of my favorite snow mountains. It is also the most beautiful snow mountain. Lucky people can also see the golden mountain in the sun, which is really beautiful.
