TIPS: The hike up and down is extremely tiring. I didn't feel anything when I was going down, but I felt like my soul was empty when I was climbing up. The river water is really fierce, and you might get splashed by it if you walk by it. There are staff at the tiger below to help take free small photos, which can be picked up in the small house next to it. If you want to print them into large photos, you have to pay extra. As soon as you enter the parking lot, you will reach the Tiger Leaping Gorge Scenic Area. It takes about an hour to hike up and down the plank road. The plank road is quite steep, so it is really tiring to walk up. Your legs will be sore and you will be out of breath.

The hiking entrance (Figure 6) is 2 kilometers inside the ticket gate. Tell the driver that you know that there are large luggage that can be stored at a nearby inn for 10 yuan per time. Ask the driver to pick up the luggage on the return trip.

Hiking entrance → Shanghutiao, 10 kilometers one way by road.

Hiking entrance → Zhonghutiao, the mountain road is 30 kilometers one way.



My itinerary:

On the first day, we took a bus from Lijiang to Shanghutiao and stayed at the hiking entrance.

The next day, we got up early and set off on foot. We arrived at the Midway Inn at 4 o'clock (Figure 5), 40 yuan/bed, 15 yuan/portion of fried rice. The inn is facing the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, with a great mountain view, recommended.

On the third day, get up early and go to Zhonghutiao, go down to the bottom of the valley and come back, go to Tina International Youth Hostel to book tickets and return to Lijiang or Shangri-La.

There is one bus per day, departing around 3:00-3:30 pm.

The Tiger Leaping Gorge I visited on the way from Lijiang to Shangri-La should be the Upper Tiger Leaping Gorge. The Tiger Leaping Rock is very eye-catching and it feels pleasant to walk along the river.

Come and experience the magic, magnificence and uncanny workmanship of Tiger Leaping Gorge.

It is easy to go down here, but it is particularly difficult to go up, probably because of the altitude. You have to take a break after walking a few steps, and there are many sedan chair bearers nearby.

The river water was extremely turbulent, like boiling water, and the mud and sand at the bottom were all surging out, splashing everywhere, and anyone standing on the shore would be splashed from time to time.

Arriving at the scenic spot, we could hear the roaring sound of water from afar. We couldn't wait to go to the observation deck to see this spectacular scenery, listen to the roar of the river, watch the splashing water, and the waves hitting the shore. The broad and mighty river, when squeezed and blocked by the dangerous cliffs, gathered its strength and continuously impacted the cliffs. The waves surged, the waterfalls flew across the sky, and the empty valley roared, shaking the valley. Finally, I checked in at the same scenic spot as Douyin.

It is a must-see attraction!

You will be impressed by the infinite power of nature. Seeing Tiger Leaping Gorge makes me feel in awe of nature and life! Human beings are so insignificant in front of nature!

Unless you are there in person, pictures cannot show how magnificent it is! The majestic and magnificent waterfalls are so majestic!

Well-known for its danger, this attraction is also a hiking destination, so it is worth visiting. Due to continuous rain for several days, the Tiger Leaping Gorge that we had originally planned to visit on the first day was not open. However, the weather was fine on the return trip, allowing us to appreciate the magnificence of the Tiger Leaping Gorge. Love you!

Upper Tiger Leaping Gorge is mainly a tourist area. This season is when there is relatively less water, but the Tiger Leaping Gorge is still majestic.

It takes about 2 hours to drive from Lijiang Ancient Town. It is really cold here. If you go there in winter, you must wear more clothes. There are very few people in this season and the place is basically reserved. If you come in summer, you can go rafting, but it is really dangerous, so pay attention to safety.

To get to the Tiger Leaping Leaping Scenic Area, the hike is a circular route, which goes down first and then up again. It requires climbing up and down about 10 floors. It is not very strenuous, and the 70-year-old couple who were traveling with us were able to complete it.

If time is not limited, I really want to walk to the middle tiger leaping, the hiking distance is said to be much greater than the upper tiger leaping

Tiger Leaping Gorge is divided into Upper Tiger Leaping Gorge, Middle Tiger Leaping Gorge and Lower Tiger Leaping Gorge. Upper Tiger Leaping Gorge is the better developed one and is the place where people usually go to the scenic spot. However, those who have a car can try Middle Tiger Leaping Gorge because the scenery there is better.

It is best to go in July or August, when the flow is high during the rainy season and the scenery becomes spectacular.

July and August are the rainy seasons, with heavy water levels, so the scenery at Tiger Leaping Gorge at this time is spectacular and breathtaking.

It has been raining since we arrived in Lijiang, which has both advantages and disadvantages. The water level in Tiger Leaping Gorge has risen, which is magnificent and shocking. It is worth the trip.

I gave it one star less because I was so scared the whole time that I couldn't appreciate its beauty anymore.

Tiger Leaping Gorge is very spectacular and is located in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River. Tiger Leaping Gorge is the narrowest section of the Yangtze River, and the water flow is particularly turbulent, which is very shocking!

To be honest, if you don’t go to the Middle Tiger Leaping Gorge to try out the Sky Ladder, the One Line Sky and the Middle Tiger Leaping Rock, it’s like you haven’t been to Tiger Leaping Gorge. The spectacularness of the Middle Tiger Leaping Gorge easily surpasses the Upper Tiger Leaping Rock, but it’s very difficult, especially if you want to walk the Sky Ladder, you must be mentally strong!

Here you can see the roaring river flowing, and the scenery along the way is still picturesque. When approaching Tiger Leaping Gorge, the road begins to narrow and become dangerous.
