Tiger Leaping Gorge is the canyon with the largest drop in the world. It is divided into three sections: upper, middle and lower Tiger Leaping Gorge, with a total length of about 20 kilometers.
The Upper Tiger Leaping Gorge is famous for its Tiger Leaping Rock, the Middle Tiger Leaping Gorge is known for its dangerous "Line of Sky", and the Lower Tiger Leaping Gorge is known for its beautiful "High Gorges and Calm Lakes".
The conventional way to visit is to take a bus from Tiger Leaping Gorge Town directly to Upper Tiger Leaping Gorge and walk through Middle Tiger Leaping Gorge to truly appreciate the magnificent momentum of Tiger Leaping Gorge.
In addition to its magnificent natural scenery, it is also a world-renowned hiking destination, attracting many outdoor enthusiasts.

TIPS: The hike up and down is extremely tiring. I didn't feel anything when I was going down, but I felt like my soul was empty when I was climbing up. The river water is really fierce, and you might get splashed by it if you walk by it. There are staff at the tiger below to help take free small photos, which can be picked up in the small house next to it. If you want to print them into large photos, you have to pay extra. You can get the electronic photos by scanning the QR code [they are not very good-looking hhh]; the altitude here is not particularly high, but it is really breathtaking walking up.
Recommended playing time: 1-2 hours
Recommendation index: 4 stars
As soon as you enter the parking lot, you will reach the Tiger Leaping Gorge Scenic Area. It takes about an hour to hike up and down the plank road. The plank road is quite steep, so it is really tiring to walk up. Your legs will be sore and you will be out of breath.
After passing through the small house, you can see the whole view of Tiger Leaping Gorge from the top viewing platform. However, it is not very clear because of the trees. And the platform is relatively open, so the wind is naturally strong, which is not suitable for staying for a long time.
When you go down, there is a plank road on the left. There are three viewing platforms at the bottom. Although you can see Tiger Leaping Gorge from different angles, it is very difficult to find a place to take pictures.
Tiger Leaping Gorge is really worth seeing.
In fact, the Tiger Leaping Gorge scenic area is not really that big. You usually walk from the downstream to the upstream. There is a man-made wooden plank road underneath, and many small ribbons for praying are hung on the handrails.
From the first viewing platform, you can see the "tiger" and the Tiger Leaping Rock, and you may get splashed by water. However, there are too many people taking photos here...
After passing the first viewing platform, there is a long plank road, and then you will slowly approach the Tiger Leaping Rock, the big rock that legend has it that even a tiger can jump over it. The water there is probably the most turbulent.
Keep walking forward and you will reach the second and third viewing platforms. The Tiger Leaping Gorge seen here is actually similar to that from the first viewing platform, but it feels closer to the water.
Going further up is the way back, and the road goes up all the time, and it is super steep.
But it's basically over when you get to the top. Although it's tiring, it's still worth going to see and walk around.
I didn't know there was a place called Tiger Leaping Gorge until I read the guide. It's really spectacular. It's said to be one of the deepest canyons in the world, with towering mountains and turbulent rivers. On the Internet, it's a yellow rapids, but what I saw was a turquoise rapids. It might be because it's not the rainy season, but I was still shocked by the thrill of nature. The wind was so strong that I felt my hands were not mine when I took pictures. Tears were streaming down my face when I was facing the wind. I must wear gloves. Standing here, you can see the super high mountain behind you. The effect can't be seen in the photo. You have to be there in person, like looking at Mount Everest, towering into the clouds. This is a peak of Yulong Snow Mountain. It doesn't feel so high even at the foot of Yulong. It should be related to the peaks on the side and the angle. It looks very strange!
The tour of Tiger Leaping Gorge is quite complicated. First of all, the scenic area is divided into two parts, the Lijiang section on the right side of the river and the Shangri-La section on the left side of the river. Generally speaking, everyone visits the Shangri-La section. In addition, the Shangri-La section is divided into the Upper Tiger Leaping Gorge where you walk on the public plank road and the Middle Tiger Leaping Gorge where you climb the private ladder. If you are not confident in your courage and physical strength, it is recommended to go to the Upper Tiger Leaping Gorge.
As it is winter, it is shaded in the entire morning at Hutiao Peak, so it is more appropriate to arrange the visit in the afternoon.
When we reached Xiahutiao, the driver and I found an open area for us to take pictures. Looking down the river valley, the river water was clear and the flow was slow, which was very different from the yellow mud soup in summer.
There are a lot of tourist resources around Lijiang, including Lugu Lake and Lahai City. I chose Tiger Leaping Gorge.
Probably because I lived in the plains of the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River when I was a child, I have a deep affection for this river, so I had to go and see her thrilling appearance in the upper reaches.
There are buses from Lijiang Bus Station to Tiger Leaping Gorge, but this bus only goes to Tiger Leaping Gorge Town, and at most only to Upper Tiger Leaping Scenic Area. The ticket is 17 yuan per person. If you want to go to Middle Tiger Leaping or Lower Tiger Leaping, you can discuss with the driver to arrange it. The price is very reasonable. We went to Middle Tiger Leaping and paid the driver 70 yuan for the return trip. You need to buy the ticket for Tiger Leaping Gorge Scenic Area by yourself.
We had originally only planned to take a look at Upper Tiger Leaping Tide. We hadn't made any plans to go to Middle Tiger Leaping Tide as we heard that only hikers would go there for hiking. But when we got to Upper Tiger Leaping Tide, we walked down and saw that it was just a simple viewing platform. We felt that it wouldn't be exciting to go back after only half an hour, so we followed the driver to Middle Tiger Leaping Tide.
This deepest canyon in China is indeed worthy of its reputation and has attracted many people to come for hiking. Unfortunately, I didn’t have time and could only take a quick tour, but I think it was enough.
The water flow was quite turbulent that day, and we couldn't hear what the two of us were saying, we could only hear the huge sound of waves. My friend asked me to take a picture of him from above, and we were both deaf and dumb the whole time, so we couldn't hear what the other said.
Although it is the off-season and the water level is the shallowest, the number of people watching Tiger Leaping Gorge has not decreased. The tickets bought by the driver are cheaper than normal. Tiger Leaping Gorge was formed by the sudden obstruction of the two snow-capped mountains of Yulong and Haba. The originally calm and peaceful river water suddenly became furious and became the largest canyon of the Yangtze River. It is surging and majestic. Standing on the observation deck, watching quietly, all the troubles will disappear, and you will also feel the insignificance of human beings. When you are happy or unhappy, everything becomes clear when you stand there. The surging river water hits the rocks, splashes water, and makes a loud noise, a most beautiful symphony. The driver told us that Tiger Leaping Gorge is divided into two, one in Lijiang and the other in Shangri-La. In fact, one is on this side of the shore and the other is on the other side of the shore. The straight-line distance is very close, but it takes a long time to walk the mountain road between the two places.
This place has not yet been officially developed. The road from Yixiantianxia Canyon is a narrow path built by villagers that can only accommodate one person. Many of the paths along the canyon are carved on the cliffs. A fee of 10 yuan per person is charged for each section. People who come here include outdoor and photography enthusiasts from all over the world.
Here, the mountains on both sides are towering, one after another. Here, the ink and color are painted, and the cliffs are as sharp as a knife. Here, the river water is rushing back and forth, the waves are surging, and the fog is hazy.
There are steep mountains on both sides of the Upper Tiger Leaping Gorge and the river is narrow. The waves here are surging and majestic, shaking the canyon like a tiger's roar and thunder, which is thrilling. The mist raised by the waves refracts a beautiful rainbow under the sunlight.
The scenic area is too small, only a small section is cut off as the scenic area, and other places cannot be visited;
But it is quite interesting to feel the momentum of the gold sands changing from gentle to roaring down from a close distance;
If you want to experience the charm of Jinsha Golden Canyon in a wider range, you can walk along the west line from the scenic area for 8 or 9 kilometers. There are two small viewing platforms (it is said that they were built by local villagers?). One of them is called Wangtian Waterfall Viewing Platform. It is very stunning. On one side is Haba Snow Mountain and on the other side is Yulong Snow Mountain. Sandwiched in the narrow canyon is the roaring Jinsha River...
Tiger Leaping Gorge is a canyon formed by the Jinsha River in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River crossing the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and the Haba Snow Mountain. It is the largest canyon in the Yangtze River. The canyon is 23 kilometers long, with the narrowest part of the river only more than 20 meters, and a gradient of 213 meters. The altitude difference between the bottom of the gorge and the top of the mountain is 3,900 meters, and it is famous for its majestic and steepness.
Haba Snow Mountain is in the west, Yulong Snow Mountain is in the east, and Tiger Leaping Gorge is in the middle. The scenic area includes the Upper, Middle and Lower Tiger Leaping Gorges and the high road hiking line known as one of the "Top Ten Classic Hiking Routes in the World".
Tiger Leaping Gorge is divided into three sections from upstream to downstream: Upper Tiger Leaping, Middle Tiger Leaping and Lower Tiger Leaping. The Upper Tiger Leaping scenic area is located by the river, with a relatively low altitude. It is a mature tourist area and is also the place where most tourists check in at Tiger Leaping Gorge.
Tiger Leaping Gorge is one of the deepest canyons in the world and one of the ten most beautiful canyons in China.
The south bank of Tiger Leaping Gorge is the Yulong Snow Mountain in Lijiang City, and the north bank is the Haba Snow Mountain in Shangri-La City. The mountains on both sides of the gorge are composed of slate, phyllite and marble, and the rocks are relatively broken due to fracture and compression. The cliffs on both sides are thousands of feet high, and the relative drop above the river surface is almost 90 degrees within 200 meters. The height difference between the river surface and the snow-capped mountains on both sides is 3700~3900 meters, which is more than 1500 meters deeper than the Colorado Grand Canyon in the United States. Constrained by the high mountains on both sides, the river is only more than 50 meters wide after entering the gorge. The narrowest part is so narrow that tigers and leopards can jump over it, so it is named Tiger Leaping Gorge. The altitude is 1800 meters.
Most tourists visit the Upper Tiger Leaping Gorge section of the Tiger Leaping Gorge Scenic Area in Shangri-La.
Ticket price: 45 yuan. Opening hours: 8:30-17:30. Tiger Leaping Gorge Town, Shangri-La City, Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province.
You can walk up and down Tiger Leaping Gorge. You can also take the escalator up and down, one way down costs 35 yuan, one way up costs 65 yuan, and the whole journey up and down costs 100 yuan. People with poor physical strength, the elderly, and children can choose to take the escalator, as it is quite tiring to go up from the canyon.
Tiger Leaping Gorge is a huge canyon that runs between the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in Lijiang and the Haba Snow Mountain in Shangri-La. It is nearly 100 kilometers away from Shangri-La and about 80 kilometers away from Lijiang. The canyon is more than 20 kilometers long and has an altitude difference of 3,900 meters.
Tiger Leaping Gorge is the fourth largest canyon in the world and the second largest canyon in China. It is the largest canyon in the Yangtze River and a national 4A-level tourist attraction. It consists of the Upper, Middle and Lower Tiger Leaping Gorges and a high-road hiking route. Currently, only the Upper Tiger Leaping Gorge has been developed.
As long as you take a step, you can harvest different beauty. Tiger Leaping Gorge High Road is definitely a high-scoring hiking route. With only a short and light hike, you can enjoy the spectacular snow-capped mountains and the surging Jinsha River.
Tiger Leaping Gorge is located at the junction of Lijiang City and Shangri-La City in Yunnan Province, stretching between Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and Haba Snow Mountain. The canyon is 23 kilometers long. On weekdays, it has huge waves and terrifying momentum. In the rainy season, it is more spectacular than the Hukou Waterfall of the Yellow River. It is famous for its shocking, strange and dangerous nature. It is a world-class canyon along with the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon in Tibet and the Colorado Grand Canyon in the United States. It is known as "one of the ten most beautiful canyons in China" and "one of the deepest canyons in the world."
Tiger Leaping Gorge is divided into three sections: upper, middle and lower. The whole journey is 20 kilometers and is famous for its "danger". Among them, the middle Tiger Leaping Gorge is the most dangerous and the most beautiful. I saw the golden mountain in the morning when I went out! The golden sunlight hit the top of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. The top of the mountain is covered with snow all year round. The snow-capped mountain is really beautiful with the golden light! When I arrived at Tiger Leaping Gorge, I had a meal to replenish my energy, and then I followed the large group all the way down to the bottom of Tiger Leaping Gorge, where I could see a line of sky. The scenery is really beautiful, and the road is really difficult to walk! The elderly people who were traveling with me were very powerful. Although they were supported all the way, they all walked down! It was a bit of a "bolt from the blue" to return by the original route, but there was only one road, but the mentality of going up the mountain and down the mountain was completely different. Going up the mountain gave me time to appreciate the beautiful scenery along the way.
Now you can take the escalator from the entrance of the scenic area to go up and down Tiger Leaping Gorge for 70 yuan, saving you the trouble of going up and down the mountain.
A must-visit scenic spot in Shangri-La, the shock from nature cannot be expressed in words
Look at the danger, even a tiger can't jump over it, the waves are rough, Chinese idioms are indeed profound, you will understand what they mean as soon as they are mentioned.
It is worth a visit, firstly because of its fame, and secondly because of the really nice scenery.
For purely natural scenery, you shouldn’t sell tickets, but you can charge for the elevator.
Passing by to climb Haba Snow Mountain, compulsory consumption, so the service is only 1 star. It is still worth a visit. Hiking should be better
Tiger Leaping Gorge, famous for its danger, is one of the deepest canyons in China.
Experience the surging river water up close. Compared with the Upper Tiger Leaping Gorge, the Middle Tiger Leaping Gorge has fewer people, has not been formally developed, and requires hiking to enter.
The beauty index is 5 points, the danger index is 5 points, the hard work index is 5 points, and the overall score is 5 points!
It's worth a visit. It's spectacular and magical. It's really good.
The surging waves in Tiger Leaping Gorge are truly spectacular!
Tiger Leaping Gorge, known for its danger, is one of the deepest canyons in China. There are two sections of Tiger Leaping Gorge: Shangri-La and Lijiang. The Shangri-La Tiger Leaping Gorge is a national AAAA-level tourist scenic spot, which includes the upper, middle and lower Tiger Leaping Gorges and the high-road hiking route.
Tiger Leaping Gorge is a tourist attraction on the way from Lijiang to Shangri-La. Many people who travel to Shangri-La with a tour group will pass by here and visit it by the way, but in fact, the hiking route along the Tiger Leaping Gorge is the classic!
Tiger Leaping Gorge is one of the must-visit places in Lijiang! Well, I really just came here to check in.
I went to Upper Tiger Leaping Rock and walked along the plank road to the Upper Tiger Leaping Rock Observation Deck. An hour and a half was enough for the visit. It is not the flood season now, so I did not see the surging river. It was the flood season when I came during the National Day in 2008, and the river was surging and very spectacular. Looking through the old photos, I found that I came down from the hiking plank road on the opposite mountain. I don’t know if it has been rebuilt after 10 years~
Tiger Leaping Gorge in December is cold and windy, so it is recommended to wear a down jacket. I almost froze silly even wearing a fleece jacket.
Before entering Tiger Leaping Gorge, Zhaxi went to the tourist reception center to get us winter clothes and introduced an oral liquid for preventing altitude sickness, which costs 80 yuan per bottle. It is said that it can prevent altitude sickness. Mr. Zu bought two bottles, but I felt it was unreliable and did not buy it. If you go to Tiger Leaping Gorge, you need to wear winter clothes (free of charge). The canyon is very windy, so don't buy the oral liquid (I personally think it has no scientific reason).
They are currently building things like glass plank roads, and it would be even more exciting if there was a bungee jumping facility.
I was shocked as soon as I entered the scenic area.
The wind was very strong and there was a cliff thousands feet below, but luckily I was strong enough.
About 5 kilometers into the scenic area, there is a parking lot where parking costs 5 yuan. Going down the layers of stairs is "Shanghutiao".
This time is the rainy season in Yunnan, which is more spectacular than Hukou Waterfall! The deafening sound makes people sigh at the power of nature. Tiger Leaping Gorge is divided into three parts: Upper, Middle and Lower Tiger Leaping. Among them, the tour groups or most of the tourists who check in are in Upper Tiger Leaping, which is also the only commercialized tourist place. Middle Tiger Leaping and Lower Tiger Leaping need to be reached by foot, and they are not connected to Upper Tiger Leaping. You need to take another road at the entrance of the scenic area to reach the entrance of the hiking route, and then take the mountain road to Middle Tiger Leaping, and then to Lower Tiger Leaping. There are two inns of Teacher X and X Youth Hostel that can be found on the Internet. They are completely for hiking enthusiasts and outdoor enthusiasts. Normal tourists are not recommended to go there because of inconvenient transportation. The mountain road is a pure mountain road, which is undeveloped and very dangerous.
Tiger Leaping Gorge is divided into three sections: Upper, Middle and Lower Tiger Leaping Gorge. I forgot which section we went to, but it was magnificent. Walking down the stairs to the bottom, you can get close to the roaring river. It was spectacular.
It was not the flood season when we came, but we could still feel the shock of the river pouring down, the thunder and the roar of the valley. It would be even more shocking to come here during the flood season. Standing on the wooden plank road, the raging waves are only a stone's throw away from the tourists, which is absolutely thrilling.
Faced with the danger of Tiger Leaping Gorge, I couldn't help but stick my head out from the cliff and look down at the rapids. My legs couldn't help but go weak. Here, the roaring waves, the rumbling mountains and the roaring valleys, and the magnificent rapids and dangerous shoals attract countless Chinese and foreign brave people to come here for hiking adventures.
Located on the way from Lijiang to Shangri-La, it is OK.
Because we didn't have much time, we just went downhill on the left after entering the scenic area. The water flow was still quite turbulent, but because it was winter, the water volume was not that abundant.
My personal suggestion: Tiger Leaping Gorge is best visited in spring and autumn, when the water flow will be particularly spectacular.
It was once popular on Tik Tok. Looking at the vigorous tide surging away, I was deeply attracted at that time. Only when I came here could I feel the surging feeling. The river water hit the rocks, rolled up, and then fell back. The photos cannot reflect its grandeur.
This is a must-see attraction. Tiger Leaping Gorge is divided into three sections: Upper Tiger Leaping, Middle Tiger Leaping, and Lower Tiger Leaping. We ordinary tourists often only visit the Upper Tiger Leaping, but the Upper Tiger Leaping alone is already extremely shocking. When we went there, the rainy season had just ended, and the water in Tiger Leaping Gorge was abundant, which was particularly shocking. The river water rushed forward like an angry buffalo, and it felt like a person would be crushed to pieces in an instant if he fell in.
The water in Tiger Leaping Gorge is not that big, so it may not be very spectacular, but for me who has never seen it, it already feels very turbulent. The lucky ones can see the rainbow in this photo.
Only when you go to Tiger Leaping Gorge will you know what it means to "climb stairs until you doubt your life"! The entire scenic area is full of stairs, so be careful with your steps, otherwise you will not just kneel down, but roll directly to the viewing platform...
It is recommended to take a one-day tour group to visit Tiger Leaping Gorge
It's very inconvenient and a little dangerous to go there by yourself
It was spectacular, with rough waves crashing against the boulders. There were many steps and it was very tiring, but the feeling was deeper when you were up close.
I don't know whether the tiger can jump over or not, but a tigress in full force should be able to do it. Compared to close contact, I prefer to watch from a distance.
The guide says that Tiger Leaping Gorge is divided into three sections: upper, middle and lower. I thought they were sold separately. After buying the ticket, I found out that only the upper Tiger Leaping Gorge is open for ticket sales. Plank roads and viewing platforms have been built, so you can safely go to the riverside to enjoy the spectacular scenery. The middle and lower Tiger Leaping Gorges need to be driven further into the mountains. They are hiking holy places and are not recommended for ordinary tourists. The water was high this year, and I was lucky enough to see the roar of the galloping tiger. After buying the ticket, you have to drive another 5 minutes inside to see the parking lot of the upper Tiger Leaping Gorge. It is recommended to park on the lower level so that you don’t have to walk another step. Because you have to walk a plank road up and down the mountain, it is all stairs, so it is recommended that you bring some water. Following the road signs, you can easily find the way to the riverside. Go down the stairs all the way to the riverside, and the sound will get louder and louder, which is very shocking. After that, go forward and there is another section of stairs up the mountain. You need to climb for a while here, but the parking lot is up there, which is very convenient.
The water in Tiger Leaping Gorge is fast-flowing and spectacular. You need to walk up a flight of stairs from the entrance of the Tiger Leaping Gorge scenic area to the viewing platform. It is okay to go down, but it is very strenuous to come up. You can take a sedan chair on the way, which is carried up by some masters manually, which is very hard work.
It's spectacular. You can spend a long time looking at the water. Every frame is different. P.S. I was lucky to see a rainbow on the water.
The only drawback of Tiger Leaping Gorge is that you need to walk down the stairs to take pictures at the bottom, and then you have to climb up the same number of steps as you went down. This is so scary and it's almost fatal.
Tiger Leaping Gorge is a must-see attraction from Lijiang to Shangri-La. The entire Tiger Leaping Gorge route is a very classic hiking route, but it is very difficult. The water volume in Tiger Leaping Gorge during the rainy season is extremely large, the waves are turbulent, and the water is always rolling. If you look closely, you will feel terrible, as if you are about to be swept in. I watched the video and felt it myself. The whole journey is like swallowing up mountains and rivers.
The water is not very strong, and I feel that there is nothing to see. It is easy to go down the mountain, but difficult to go up the mountain. It may be that I haven't exercised for a long time, or it may be a bit of altitude sickness. I was a little out of breath when I climbed the stairs.
Maybe it was the wrong time, the water was not strong and not as spectacular as I had imagined.
It’s magnificent to be there in person, it’s worth a visit!
The name itself sounds awe-inspiring, not to mention arriving there and listening to the roar of the river, one can't help but be impressed by the wonders of nature.
In response to various opinions, let me explain. Some people say that it is wrong to take eight hours to climb Tiger Leaping Leap. Maybe many years ago, the climb is mainly for tourists. You can drive directly to the Tiger Leaping Leaping Leaping Leaping parking lot, go in from the ticket office and go down the stairs, and it will take about 15 minutes to see the tigers while walking. The climb to the tigers is Tiger Leaping Leaping Leaping Leap, and the climb of seven or eight hours you mentioned is the climb up, middle and lower tigers. It is recommended for backpackers who like hiking and self-abuse, mostly foreigners, and it is best to complete it in two days, with accommodation halfway. One day really requires a lot of physical strength and perseverance. The key is that if you are tired, you will not be in the mood to enjoy the scenery. Generally, tourists can go to Tiger Leaping Leap. You still have to climb up. Those who can't climb can ask the sedan bearers for 200 yuan for a round trip, and 150 yuan for a single trip, so don't worry about the old and the young who can't climb. The elevator was built next to it. Two years later, the sedan bearers lost their jobs. They rely on this for a living. Although it's hard to bear, they are happy to sit in their sedans, so they have food to eat and their children can go to school. They are very worried that they will have no way to make a living after the elevator is built. So friends who go there within these two years can go and experience it. It's an hour's mountain road from Lijiang Ancient Town, but it's all highways, not the very primitive roads you imagine [picking nose] We took the old road with few cars and people, and we could pass by Lashi Lake. We decisively gave up this attraction. The reason is to check the guide and evaluation by yourself, so that you can get off halfway to eat local dishes and buy an apple. It's 450 yuan to charter a car from Lijiang Ancient Town for a round trip. The price depends on your ability. The asking price is generally more than 500 yuan.
The bus will stop at the ticket office before entering the scenic area to buy a ticket first.
The hiking entrance (Figure 6) is 2 kilometers inside the ticket gate. Tell the driver that you know that there are large luggage that can be stored at a nearby inn for 10 yuan per time. Ask the driver to pick up the luggage on the return trip.
My hiking route (Figure 1), map (Figure 2), the route is well-established and has road signs (Figure 7)
Hiking entrance → Shanghutiao, 10 kilometers one way by road.
Hiking entrance → Zhonghutiao, the mountain road is 30 kilometers one way.
My itinerary:
On the first day, we took a bus from Lijiang to Shanghutiao and stayed at the hiking entrance.
The next day, we got up early and set off on foot. We arrived at the Midway Inn at 4 o'clock (Figure 5), 40 yuan/bed, 15 yuan/portion of fried rice. The inn is facing the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, with a great mountain view, recommended.
On the third day, get up early and go to Zhonghutiao, go down to the bottom of the valley and come back, go to Tina International Youth Hostel to book tickets and return to Lijiang or Shangri-La.
There is one bus per day, departing around 3:00-3:30 pm.
The Tiger Leaping Gorge I visited on the way from Lijiang to Shangri-La should be the Upper Tiger Leaping Gorge. The Tiger Leaping Rock is very eye-catching and it feels pleasant to walk along the river.
Come and experience the magic, magnificence and uncanny workmanship of Tiger Leaping Gorge.
It is easy to go down here, but it is particularly difficult to go up, probably because of the altitude. You have to take a break after walking a few steps, and there are many sedan chair bearers nearby.
The river water was extremely turbulent, like boiling water, and the mud and sand at the bottom were all surging out, splashing everywhere, and anyone standing on the shore would be splashed from time to time.
Arriving at the scenic spot, we could hear the roaring sound of water from afar. We couldn't wait to go to the observation deck to see this spectacular scenery, listen to the roar of the river, watch the splashing water, and the waves hitting the shore. The broad and mighty river, when squeezed and blocked by the dangerous cliffs, gathered its strength and continuously impacted the cliffs. The waves surged, the waterfalls flew across the sky, and the empty valley roared, shaking the valley. Finally, I checked in at the same scenic spot as Douyin.
It is a must-see attraction!
You will be impressed by the infinite power of nature. Seeing Tiger Leaping Gorge makes me feel in awe of nature and life! Human beings are so insignificant in front of nature!
Unless you are there in person, pictures cannot show how magnificent it is! The majestic and magnificent waterfalls are so majestic!
Well-known for its danger, this attraction is also a hiking destination, so it is worth visiting. Due to continuous rain for several days, the Tiger Leaping Gorge that we had originally planned to visit on the first day was not open. However, the weather was fine on the return trip, allowing us to appreciate the magnificence of the Tiger Leaping Gorge. Love you!
Upper Tiger Leaping Gorge is mainly a tourist area. This season is when there is relatively less water, but the Tiger Leaping Gorge is still majestic.
It takes about 2 hours to drive from Lijiang Ancient Town. It is really cold here. If you go there in winter, you must wear more clothes. There are very few people in this season and the place is basically reserved. If you come in summer, you can go rafting, but it is really dangerous, so pay attention to safety.
To get to the Tiger Leaping Leaping Scenic Area, the hike is a circular route, which goes down first and then up again. It requires climbing up and down about 10 floors. It is not very strenuous, and the 70-year-old couple who were traveling with us were able to complete it.
If time is not limited, I really want to walk to the middle tiger leaping, the hiking distance is said to be much greater than the upper tiger leaping
It's amazing, it takes a long time to make your impression.
Tiger Leaping Gorge is divided into Upper Tiger Leaping Gorge, Middle Tiger Leaping Gorge and Lower Tiger Leaping Gorge. Upper Tiger Leaping Gorge is the better developed one and is the place where people usually go to the scenic spot. However, those who have a car can try Middle Tiger Leaping Gorge because the scenery there is better.
Scenic spot ticket (65 yuan, half price with student ID, including the tourist sightseeing bus ticket)
There are Brave Ladder, Glass Plank Road and Iron Chain Bridge in Zhonghutiao (tolls are required, ranging from 10 to 15 yuan per person)
Lao Fuzi: "Looking at the Tide of the Sea·Tiger Roars, Apes Weep, Wolfs and Leopards" - Tiger Leaping Gorge Town, Shangri-La County, Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, 18·8·15 Densely covered with dangerous rapids, flying and surging, whirlpools and rolling paintings. Feet on the rapids, head on the ravines, steep cliffs. The magnificent years of the gorge. The warriors dominate the gorge, the apes cry. The cymbals and strange rocks, the gorges appear and disappear. The ancient vines are intertwined and the horns are ringing. Majestic and heavy, the galloping is furious. Magnificent, walking on foot, listening to the waves is lamentable! Chasing the flags and clouds. The curtains are shuddering, staring at the singing crows. Relaxing the pursuit, the water is turbulent and the waterfalls are reeds! July 13, Wuxu Year
It is the flood season, and the water in Tiger Leaping Gorge is like a galloping horse. On both sides are majestic cliffs and thousand-meter-high peaks. I still can't forget the magnificent scene. I get goose bumps all the time. You must come and experience it for yourself.
It is best to go in July or August, when the flow is high during the rainy season and the scenery becomes spectacular.
July and August are the rainy seasons, with heavy water levels, so the scenery at Tiger Leaping Gorge at this time is spectacular and breathtaking.
It has been raining since we arrived in Lijiang, which has both advantages and disadvantages. The water level in Tiger Leaping Gorge has risen, which is magnificent and shocking. It is worth the trip.
I gave it one star less because I was so scared the whole time that I couldn't appreciate its beauty anymore.
Tiger Leaping Gorge is very spectacular and is located in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River. Tiger Leaping Gorge is the narrowest section of the Yangtze River, and the water flow is particularly turbulent, which is very shocking!
The river water is very fast and deep, so everyone must be careful ~ Don't jump in excitement! Hahahahaha
To be honest, if you don’t go to the Middle Tiger Leaping Gorge to try out the Sky Ladder, the One Line Sky and the Middle Tiger Leaping Rock, it’s like you haven’t been to Tiger Leaping Gorge. The spectacularness of the Middle Tiger Leaping Gorge easily surpasses the Upper Tiger Leaping Rock, but it’s very difficult, especially if you want to walk the Sky Ladder, you must be mentally strong!
Here you can see the roaring river flowing, and the scenery along the way is still picturesque. When approaching Tiger Leaping Gorge, the road begins to narrow and become dangerous.
Tiger Leaping Gorge is the canyon with the largest drop in the world. It is divided into three sections: Upper, Middle and Lower Tiger Leaping Gorge, with a total length of about 20 kilometers. Upper Tiger Leaping Gorge is known for its "gorge mouth" and "Tiger Leaping Rock", Middle Tiger Leaping Gorge is known for its "starry sky" and "a line of sky", and Lower Tiger Leaping Gorge is known for its "high gorge with a flat lake" and "great scenery". The conventional way to visit Tiger Leaping Gorge is to take a bus from Tiger Leaping Gorge Town directly to Upper Tiger Leaping Gorge, and walk through Middle Tiger Leaping Gorge to truly appreciate the magnificent momentum of Tiger Leaping Gorge.
On the way there, we encountered a landslide. On one side was a cliff, and on the other side was a collapsed mountain. For safety reasons, we all got out of the car and walked over, letting the car drive over by itself. However, the car body couldn't be too light, so the heavyweight model was left sitting in the car to balance the body. Haha, I wonder if he felt nervous in it. We were "eating dust" behind the car behind us, watching the car flying past on the slippery gravel road. If we were not careful, the car would fall off the cliff. Just watching it made me nervous.
