To be honest, I only passed by this place, but I didn't expect it to be a tourist attraction. It is the only way to pass by the back door of Yunnan University. Across the bridge is the old campus of Yunnan Normal University.
When I was studying in Yunnan, there was Wenhua Lane just across the street. I spent a lot of time there. There were lots of snacks and bars, and it was full of youthful atmosphere... I miss it so much.
It's a popular neighborhood. I walked around a lot to find a bookstore. There are also many small restaurants around the school.
It used to be the dormitory area for professors of National Southwest Associated University. Now it has been transformed into a main road. There are various snack shops on both sides of the road. Foreigners also frequent it. The local snacks of Yunnan are very distinctive.
A small street near Yunnan University reminds me of my spare time in college. There are many small shops selling strange things, and the prices are just so-so. Many labels are written very high, and when they sell it to you, they give you a very disappointing price. In fact, they still make a lot of money... emmm
It's really worth a stroll!!!
Wenhua Lane, near Yunnan University, is a typical academic place. It is full of small shops with a strong literary and artistic atmosphere, and offers cost-effective cuisine, Yunnan snacks, and special snacks. It also has many well-known restaurants, such as Saldowa and Guozilou. I recommend the Tin Foil Seafood Shop, which is very delicious.
The cultural atmosphere here in Wenhua Lane is quite strong
Come and experience the local culture.
Wenhua Lane looked quite popular in travel guides, but after actually visiting, I felt like there wasn't much to do there. There weren't that many bars or shops, so I didn't really need to go there specifically. (Maybe there's some code to get there, I don't know.) There is a tea shop with a really wide selection, though, so if you're interested in that, you might want to stop by.
When I went there, Wenhua Lane was no longer as lively as before. The locals told me that the schools were all relocating and there wasn't much to do nearby. It's true, but it's still worth a visit.
I didn't expect Wenhua Lane to be so mini. I finally understood the meaning of streets and alleys. It's right next to several universities and has a bit of a cultural atmosphere. It's actually a food street. The view of the lane at night is pretty good.
Balianghai, an unmarked coffee shop, is located in this bustling area.
I feel like there is something to eat, but I didn't see anything I particularly wanted to eat.
After a walk around, I felt that there was nothing special here, probably because there are several colleges and universities here. There are some small restaurants, drink shops and bookstores in the alley.
People who don't have a strong connection with Culture Lane may not be able to appreciate its flavor... It would be better to go there at night~
When I got there, I found that it was the place for lunch. There were some small shops, which I was not very interested in. I bought a bunch of yogurt in a yogurt shop.
It is just a small commercial street, just like the small commercial streets near many of our universities. There is nothing special about it. If you are visiting Cuihu Park or Yunnan University in the morning, you can come here to find something to eat. But if you want to come here specifically for a visit, I personally don’t recommend it.
Coming out of the east gate of Yunnan University is Wenhua Lane, where you will find all kinds of internet-famous shops and small restaurants. You can go shopping and fill your stomach at the same time.
It's quite comfortable to go shopping or sit in a coffee shop during your leisure time.
It's part of the old street, very nice.
I checked online and found that there are a lot of food options in Wenhua Lane, but after searching for a long time, I really didn’t see any place to eat. I wonder if I went to the wrong place.
It's more lively at night! You can go and feel the local enthusiasm at night!
Wenhua Lane was recommended to me by a friend in Kunming.
It is said to be a street with a strong literary and artistic atmosphere that Kunming people like.
After I went there, I just felt that there were more cafes here.
Instead, a bookstore on the corner attracted me.
It's called Manlin Academy. You can buy some foreign magazines and books here.
There are also tourist souvenirs and postcards, etc.
It's not a very good place to go. I mostly shop for clothes, go to coffee shops, and eat pizza.
Together with the nearby Wenlin Street and Qianju Street, it forms the most stylish area in Kunming. There are many bookstores and cafes nearby.
A famous gathering place for young artists in Kunming, Wenhua Lane is just a two-minute walk from the west gate of Yunnan University. Together with the nearby Wenlin Street and Qianju Street, it forms one of Kunming's most stylish areas.
Wenhua Lane is a bit of a walk from Yunnan Normal University. Since I wasn't very time-sensitive, I decided to walk. If you continue along Jianshe Road, you'll reach Wenhua Lane.
Walking into Wenhua Lane, you'll find bars, cafes, and bookstores lining both sides. Even though it's still early, the bars are still bustling with activity. The bars here are all about the artsy atmosphere. There are also many bookstores lining the street, which is my favorite place to stop by.
A typical tourist consumption district, not too keen on bar culture, passing by without staying.
No features, not fun, not fun, not fun, not recommended
It's like a commercial street, and some of the small shops are worth visiting, but I didn't buy anything.
There are many foods, but most of them can be found in most cities, and only a few of them are unique.
Wenhua Lane is close to Yunnan University and is often visited by foreigners. It has a strong artistic atmosphere.
Located near Yunnan University, there are many small restaurants and it is quite stylish.
My favorite place to visit during my four years in college was definitely Wenhua Lane. Every day, as soon as the sun went down, the beautiful women and handsome men would come out to set up stalls. I never felt bored going there every day.
As someone who has lived in Kunming for many years, I absolutely love the climate there (except for the dry weather). Wenhua Lane is a favorite spot for generations of young people, college students, and foodies.
A relatively literary little place with a bar and a cafe where you can sit and rest and have delicious food
Generally, if you have time, you can go for a walk, it's okay.
It's a very ordinary street without any characteristics. Don't have any expectations for it.
When I went to Kunming in 2012, a local friend took me there. It was near Yunnan University and Kunming Normal University. I felt very good about it. Later, I took the postgraduate entrance examination of Yunnan University. I hope to go there again.
This is a university student paradise, but because it's Chinese New Year, the alley is quiet and almost all the shops are closed. The alley is narrow, and the shops on either side have unique names. I love that feeling, but I can't go in and browse every one. However, I had a surprise: at the entrance of the alley, I tried roasted milk fan, which tasted like roses.
At the back door of Yunnan University, there are a lot of food there, and there is also a western restaurant with many foreign tourists. It is worth a visit, although the whole alley is quite short.
It is not recommended to go there during the day, as there are few people and it is not lively, and there is nothing to see.
Every time my friends come to Kunming, they will take them to visit Wenhua Lane. Although it is becoming more and more commercialized like the old streets like Nanluoguxiang, the food places like Hu Jiu are still very delicious, and it is very close to Yunnan University and Cuihu Lake. I like Wenhua Lane very much.
Why five stars? It's purely personal, haha! I spent a lot of time there, and there was everything you could want for food, drinks, and entertainment, all at reasonable prices. It's right next to Yunnan University, so it's got a rich cultural atmosphere, and transportation is convenient. There are tons of little bars and restaurants nearby. I think back then, I ate everywhere.
I remember when I was in school, I went to Wenhua Lane every day and tried every store.
The night market at night is very interesting and worth seeing
Experience Cultural Lane again, Hu Jiu's ice porridge, Salvador's coffee, Duanshi Xiaoguo's rice noodles, and various snacks and delicacies, it is a paradise for foodies~
Walking in the alleys of old houses, old streets, and secluded private restaurants, it feels like traveling through time and space and having a conversation with the ancients.
There are lots of small shops and restaurants here. Just walk towards the International Students' Hall from Yunnan University. There are Thai shops, Indian restaurants, local Yunnan cuisine, and more. There are also plenty of coffee shops and relatively trendy shops. This was one of my favorite places to visit during my school days.
Wenhua Lane is located in Wuhua District, Kunming City, Yunnan Province. Because of these influences, literary giants like Shen Congwen, Bing Xin, and Li Gongpu often sat in a small teahouse in Wenhua Lane, chatting and laughing. Because of them, Wenhua Lane eventually changed its name from Cangma Lane to Wenhua Lane.
The road leading out of the university seems to have a spontaneous pedestrian street in front of every university, with shops selling clothes, pants, shoes and socks, snacks and restaurants, and artistic and bourgeois coffee shops and milk tea shops. You can stop by and stroll through it after leaving Yunnan University.
Come to experience the hustle and bustle of Kunming's university district at night. The streets are already lined with shops, and when the night market comes, vendors also come to set up business, selling accessories and various special foods. It is very lively.
There is a snack street called Wenhua Lane near Yunnan University. The prices are very cheap and there are a wide variety of things.
The Elephant Bookstore is well worth a visit. There is also a very good local original wooden furniture brand, which is located next to the Elephant Bookstore.
This street is a perfect place to experience the warmth of Kunming, where spring is the norm all year round. There are many small shops here, giving you a warm feeling. Although most of the shops are quite ordinary, there are many foreigners chatting in the cafes, making it a great place for a stroll.
There are small shops selling clothes and many snacks to shop around.
Unique alleys in Kunming, with various food, boutiques, bars, and Western restaurants.
It's a place with a lot of cultural atmosphere and it's definitely worth a visit.

Wenhua Lane and Wenlin Street are snack streets near Yunnan University, and now there are many bars. If you are in Kunming, you can go to Yunnan University for a stroll and have some snacks. The prices near the school are generally more affordable. There are also night markets and barbecues in the evening.
Wenhua Lane is where young people from Kunming gather. It is a lively place with special snacks, Western desserts, coffee bars and pubs, and a night market in the evening.
Wenhua Lane, located behind Yunnan University, wasn't previously called Wenhua Lane. Because great writers like Shen Congwen, Bing Xin, and Li Gongpu often sat in the lane's small teahouses, chatting and laughing, the alley's name was eventually changed from Cangma Lane to Wenhua Lane. Wenhua Lane boasts three key features: a large number of teachers and students, numerous small shops, and a high concentration of pedestrians and cars. The coffee shops are excellent, so you can enjoy afternoon tea at any of them—a truly relaxing experience.
It's mainly a snack and shopping alley, but it's best not to buy things here, the prices are inflated
It's next to Yunnan University, and there are other universities nearby. It's packed with students, and there's plenty of food and entertainment, so women love to shop. Inside Wenhua Lane is the Wheatfield Bookstore, a great place for book lovers to stop by. The owner is very friendly. Entering Wenhua Lane and passing Yunnan University, you'll see the Ginkgo Path within. In spring, the leaves are lush and green, and sunlight filters through the foliage. At the turn of autumn and winter, everything is filled with golden color.
Wenhua Lane, located in Wuhua District, Kunming City, Yunnan Province, earned its name because great writers like Shen Congwen, Bing Xin, and Li Gongpu often sat in small teahouses along the lane. Today, Wenhua Lane has become a bustling street, bustling with people, cars, and businesses.
There are lots of food, many schools nearby, and many art shops.
At night, there are many stalls, many bars, many people and a good atmosphere.
The scenery is beautiful. I feel very good after watching it. Like it.
It's ordinary, with some graffiti. You can take a look and walk around.
I took various kuso street photos with my friends. There are also many restaurants nearby.
A small alley in Wenlin Street, with many restaurants, clothing stores, and street stalls, it is very lively and there are many foreigners.
It's a good place to stretch your legs and take a walk, but it's best to go in the evening when the night market is more abundant.
In fact, it is a gathering place for various small shops and snacks. It is brightly lit and full of young people, but it is not very interesting.
There are various small shops with artistic atmosphere. I go there mainly for food. I recommend mana~
We ate a lot, but not many places seemed delicious. However, it depends on the individual. When ordering, it is best to follow the aroma. Other people's recommendations can only be used as a reference.
It's a popular gathering place for young people. There's a wide variety of food options, including Dai, Korean, and Indian cuisine, snacks, and hot pots. There are also boutiques, and I often pick out gifts for friends there. There's also a night market. I once lost my phone, so I have to be careful with my belongings. Because it's near a school, there's a lot of student activity, and the Yunnan University International Students' Hall isn't far away, so you can often run into foreigners. My political science teacher explained that Wenhua Lane was where Wen Yiduo and others lived when they taught at Southwest Associated University. Scholars set up stalls here, carved seals, and wrote letters for families, hence the name "Wenhua Lane." Now, both Yunnan Normal University and Yunnan University are nearby, along with top junior high schools like Yunnan University Affiliated High School and Yunnan Normal University Experimental Middle School, as well as Yunnan University Affiliated Primary School, so it still retains a touch of cultural flair.
I heard there are a lot of good food in Wenhua Lane behind the university.
After walking through the university, we went to Wenhua Lane Snack Street to look for something to eat, but we couldn't find any restaurant we liked.
I didn’t see any snacks either. I wonder if it’s because the college students are on vacation?
A street of Republican-era buildings, an ancient and simple old street, with authentic and delicious snacks, local ethnic costumes, and local craftsmen chiseling and hammering silverware on site. Purely handmade snowflake silver is only 11 yuan per gram. Friends who like it can buy some as a souvenir, and you can also take it home to boil water and drink it, which has a detoxifying effect~
Although the buildings here are old-fashioned, they have not lost the local customs and culture at all. Friends who like taking pictures can take pictures here, which must be beautiful!
There is also delicious and sweet papaya juice here, but it is not like the papaya pulp we see. It is made from papaya through many processes, refined into something similar to jelly, and then paired with brown sugar, peas and other ingredients. It is cool and sweet, very delicious, and very cheap, only 3 yuan a cup~
The grilled skewers are not like the barbecue in Northeast China. Here we have volcanic stone grilled skewers, which are much cleaner and healthier than charcoal grilling and fire grilling. They are golden yellow instead of burnt black after grilling, so from the visual to the taste, they are unique and delicious. I recommend trying them~
"Salvador" is a very famous coffee shop here. This brand is all over Kunming and can be seen in the streets and alleys. The decoration and matching are very stylish. Coffee and sweet wine are both good choices!
Kunming is full of shared bicycles, including the green ones from Didi, the blue ones from Alipay, the yellow ones from ofo, and the orange ones from Mobike. Just scan and ride on the streets, and you will definitely see more than taking a taxi!
