Xishuangbanna General Buddhist Temple is the center for Buddhists in Xishuangbanna to worship Buddha, and it is also the highest-level Buddhist temple in Xishuangbanna.
The main buildings of the Zongfo Temple are majestic, with exquisitely carved beams and pillars. They mainly include the Weihan Hall and the Buddhist College Teaching Building.
There is an altar in front of the north wall of the current courtyard building, with several Buddha statues on it and the Jataka Tales painted on the wall.

Xishuangbanna General Buddhist Temple ("Wabaji" in Dai language) is the core holy place of Theravada Buddhism in Yunnan. It was built in 615 AD and is the residence of Xishuangbanna Buddhist Association and the highest-level Buddhist temple. The main building complex includes the Golden Summit Hall, Aga Muni Relics Pagoda, and the Ordination Hall. The standing Buddha is a bronze Buddha cast in Thailand, and its magnificent gilded decoration forms a unique contrast with the rattan bamboo Buddha.
Historically, it was the religious and political center where the Dai King "Zhao Pian Ling" held oath-taking ceremonies and approved the promotion of monks. The temple houses treasures such as palm leaf scriptures. The second floor of the main hall houses one of the largest bronze Buddhas in Southeast Asia, which was consecrated by the Thai monk king. It is open to the public free of charge.
Its long history, coupled with the emergence of many eminent monks throughout the ages, makes it enjoy a high reputation among Theravada Buddhists throughout Southeast Asia and is a holy place revered by believers in Xishuangbanna.
Xishuangbanna General Buddhist Temple is the center of Buddhist worship in Xishuangbanna, and it is also the highest-level Buddhist temple in Xishuangbanna. The General Buddhist Temple is majestic and has exquisitely carved beams and pillars. It mainly includes the Weihan Hall, the Buddhist College Teaching Building and other buildings. The General Buddhist Temple is a free scenic spot. The General Buddhist Temple is connected to Manting Park (there is a ticket gate at the connecting gate). The two scenic spots can be visited separately or you can visit the General Buddhist Temple from the direction of the park when visiting Manting Park (you need to check your ticket again when returning to Manting Park from the General Buddhist Temple).
The Zongfo Temple is connected to Manting Park. The buildings inside are more concentrated and exquisite than those in Manting Park. Many girls took beautiful photos. I saw a white peacock spreading its tail, which was amazing.
Behind Manting Park is the Zongfo Temple. Although both are Buddhist temples, they have different styles. If the previous Dafo Temple is magnificent, then the Zongfo Temple is dignified, elegant and exquisite. The temple was a holy place for the supreme rulers and chieftains of Xishuangbanna to worship Buddha before liberation. Even the abbots of Buddhist temples from all over the country would come here from time to time to worship and discuss scriptures.
Square golden pagodas stand on both sides of the bluestone road, leading to the main hall in the middle called "Weihan". The main colors of the hall are gold, silver and red. The roof is purple-red tiles, the beams and walls are painted gold, and the spires are decorated with silver. The hall is shining with golden light, like the Buddha's light shining on all living beings.
The Dharma Protectors stand in a silver niche. When you look closely, their faces are full of majesty, making people feel the solemnity and sacredness of Buddhism.
Whether it is the eaves, railings, or pagodas, every corner here is a scene worth savoring. Follow the golden dragon handrail to the second floor of the Great Hall, where sits a bronze Buddha that was cast and carved by Thai craftsmen in Thailand, and was consecrated by the Thai monk king, with members of the Thai royal family participating in the consecration process. It is the largest bronze Buddha in Xishuangbanna so far. It reflects the inheritance of Southern Buddhism between China and Thailand from ancient times to the present.
The main hall of the Zongfo Temple is a perfect combination of traditional Dai craftsmanship and modern architectural culture. It has now become the largest and most splendid building in the Theravada Buddhist area in Yunnan's border area.
Coming out of Manting Garden, next to it is the Main Buddhist Temple, which is one of the earliest temples built in Xishuangbanna. It has a history of more than 1,300 years and is called "Wabajie" in Dai language.
As with other temples, do not make noise, take artistic photos, or wear revealing clothes when entering the lobby.
After visiting Manting Park, we went out the back door of the park and arrived at the Zong Buddhist Temple, which did not require a ticket. This Buddhist temple is very similar to the temples I have seen in Southeast Asia before. The Zong Buddhist Temple is not large and can be visited quickly. Many tourists will re-enter Manting Park to continue their visit after visiting. In this case, you need to keep the tickets for Manting Park. We took a taxi directly back to the hotel.
The night before, I bought tickets for Manting Park and Zongfo Temple online. The two scenic spots are adjacent to each other, and the tickets are also universal. I checked online that the combined ticket for Manting Park and Zongfo Temple was 76 yuan, but when I bought the ticket, the price changed again, and the combined ticket was only 36 yuan, which saved a lot. Then I saw the combined ticket with Dafo Temple on other platforms, which was more affordable, so I refunded the original ticket and bought a new combined ticket for three places. But this ticket is manually picked up, and you have to contact the staff to exchange the ticket, and you can't exchange the ticket yourself. It's just that this little process delays time, and there are no other problems.
There are 2 entrances for entry. You can visit it separately, or you can enter from the direction of the park and visit it while visiting Manting Park.
It is said that the Xishuangbanna Main Buddhist Temple was built in the mid-seventh century by two Theravada Buddhist monks who came from Myanmar to spread the Dharma. It has a history of more than a thousand years. It is one of the earliest Theravada Buddhist temples established in Xishuangbanna, with a long history and profound Dharma affinity.
The Xishuangbanna General Buddhist Temple was established as the highest-level Buddhist temple in Xishuangbanna by the Xishuangbanna Xuanwei about 700 years ago. It is the place where the whole region’s Buddhist activities are announced, the promotion of senior monks is approved, and the oath-taking ceremony of the Xuanwei envoys and the chieftains of each Meng is held. It is also a holy place for the Xishuangbanna Xuanwei and the chieftains of each Meng to worship Buddha, and for Buddhist temples from all over the country to preside over the worship. Due to its long history and the emergence of many eminent monks in successive dynasties, it enjoys a high reputation among the Theravada Buddhist believers in the whole Southeast Asia and is a holy place respected by all believers in Xishuangbanna.
The free attractions in Jinghong are worth a visit.
The strongest temple, five-star recommendation, the fireworks are magnificent, it is worth a second visit.
The Zongfo Temple is magnificent everywhere and is worth a visit.
Because it is connected to Manting Park, there are also many tourists in the Zong Buddhist Temple. The architecture of the Buddhist temple is gorgeous and worth visiting.
The magnificent Zong Fo Temple is located next to Manting Park, and you can visit it together.
There is no ticket. It is quite nice. It is much more fun than the Big Buddha Temple in the suburbs. It is what I imagined Banna to be like... It is not very big and is close to Manting Park.
From Manting Park, you can go to the Zong Buddhist Temple. The Zong Buddhist Temple is the center for Buddhist believers in Xishuangbanna to worship Buddha. It is the highest level among the Buddhist temples in Xishuangbanna. The Zong Buddhist Temple is free to visit.
Xishuangbanna General Buddhist Temple is the center for Buddhists in Xishuangbanna to worship Buddha. It is the highest-ranking Buddhist temple in Xishuangbanna.
The Zong Buddhist Temple is located near Manting Park in Jinghong and is connected to Manting Park. There is no entrance fee to the Zong Buddhist Temple.
Behind Manting Park, we went there on the first day of the new year, and the incense was quite popular. Unlike the Central Plains Buddhism, the Hinayana Buddhism is believed here.
Forgive me for using the word beautiful to describe a temple. The buildings inside are really nice-looking, but they are not very big. If you walk quickly, you can finish the walk in ten minutes, but they are really beautiful.
From the west to the east, you can reach Manting Park. The entrance fee to the temple is free. As for the scenery, it is quite unique.
The building is exquisite and very very stunning.
The Buddhist temple behind Manting Park is small in scale, but has a lot of historical charm. It does not charge admission. It is said that there are more locals. It is connected to Manting Park. The landscape is not big and there are not many people. It is high up on the mountainside. There are holy water and white pagodas. I think it is a must-see attraction. It is located in the center of Jinghong City, about one kilometer next to the Splashing Water Square~
The building is magnificent, and the Buddha statues have local characteristics, which are different from the Buddha statues in the mainland that are more like those in Thailand.
The Zongfo Temple is free to visit. It is next to Manting Park. It is small and compact. The temple is in the park and the park is in the temple. It is very quiet. It may have missed the peak season. It gives people a good feeling, just like what a temple should look like...
The General Buddhist Temple is the center for Buddhists in Xishuangbanna to worship Buddha. The temple is located in a rectangular courtyard with the gate opening at the west end of the north side.
Nowadays, Buddhists still regard this temple as a holy place for worshipping Buddha. There are many pilgrims and tourists who often come here to visit.
The Zongfo Temple is at the north gate of Manting Park, and you can also enter from Manting Park. After all, it is not the main gate, but there are two different plaques hanging on both sides of the gate.
Walking into the Zong Fo Temple is like walking into a temple in Thailand.
The tall coconut palm trees are set against the blue sky, white clouds and golden roofs, which is incredibly beautiful.
Behind the main hall is a courtyard with a Buddhist temple in the middle. The red tiles and golden Buddhas shine in the sun, a typical Southern Buddhism architectural style. This temple has a lot of history. It was built by the late Thai King Bhumibol Adulyadej on his 72nd birthday with a donation of 260,000 RMB and domestic Buddhist believers.
On the right side of the Buddhist hall are the monks’ offices and dormitories.
In front of the main hall of the Zongfo Temple is a golden statue of Sakyamuni, which looks like a three-story building but is actually only two-story. The upper part of the main hall is a wooden structure built in Dai style, with a thatched roof and four-story eaves. After visiting many places, I found that Dai buildings have at most four-story eaves, which may be the most noble level. The lower part of the main hall is a cement frame structure, with a large surrounding terrace on top and steps on both sides.
I don't recommend you to stay in Manting Park, it's too remote. Behind Manting Park is the Zongfo Temple, which is not big but has beautiful architecture. No tickets are required. There are many people burning incense inside. The last tower is inside Manting Park.
In addition to the rich tropical rainforest and other plant resources, Xishuangbanna also has graceful ethnic customs and exotic buildings that dazzle the eyes. The Zongfo Temple can be entered directly from Manting Park without charging additional tickets. The Zongfo Temple is magnificent and has a more pious Buddhist feel.
The Zongfo Temple is the main temple of Theravada Buddhism in the south, and is the center of all the large and small Buddhist temples in the state. It has a strong Buddhist style, and you will inevitably feel more pious when you step into it. The temple is not large in scope, and the entertainment is not high, so it is more suitable for pious worship.
The representative of Xishuangbanna temple architecture, although many of the buildings are renovated, it is worth a visit
Free admission, exotic atmosphere, exquisite and unique architecture.
The Royal Temple of the Dai King. You can visit it directly after buying the ticket of Manting Park without buying a separate ticket. There is also a Big Buddha Temple in Mengla, but I didn't go there. I heard that it is very commercialized. If you are not very interested in religion, I think it is enough to visit the Zong Buddha Temple.
The magnificent temples and tropical plants are intertwined with each other to create a unique atmosphere
It is connected to Manting Park, magnificent and worth a visit.
I was staying at the K2 Youth Hostel next door, and had originally planned to get up early to see the empty Buddhist temple. However, I was woken up by the noise of people getting up before I could even wake up. I found that I had arrived at a ceremony for young monks to be ordained. Nearly two hundred young men were being ordained as young monks. Such a large-scale ceremony was particularly spectacular.
In the Dai people's concept, a man is considered educated only after he has stayed in a temple, so the Dai people will send their children to the temple to let them live a life away from the world for a while.
It is connected to Manting Park and is free, so if you go to Manting Park, you can just go there.
The Zongfo Temple is located next to Manting Park. After visiting the park, you can just walk out to the Zongfo Temple on one side. The area is not very large, but the temple building is very magnificent and worth a visit.
Xishuangbanna General Buddhist Temple is the center of pilgrimage for Buddhist believers in Xishuangbanna, so it is a must-see attraction when traveling to Xishuangbanna. The area of the General Buddhist Temple is not large, and it is much smaller than the temple buildings on the mountains and hills in other places, but as soon as you walk in, you will see the golden splendor, the people who worship Buddha are also very pious, and the incense is very strong. In general, as a signature indoor attraction in Xishuangbanna, it is always right to go and see it.
It is very similar to the Grand Palace in Bangkok, not crowded, relaxing, and there are Dai girls singing!
The Zongfo Temple and Manting Park are connected. When you return to Manting Park, you can just show your Manting ticket and go back to Manting.
The whole Buddhist temple is magnificent and gorgeous. I have seen many simple and elegant temples in the mainland, but I was shocked to see this one! The key is that it is free
It's really awesome. It's free to go here alone, but it's better to go there together with Manting Park.
We lingered here and took many panoramic photos. It was really shocking and felt so beautiful!
The buildings are beautiful and the atmosphere is peaceful, which is different from those in the north. It is also nice for taking photos. There are few people and it is quiet, suitable for stopping.
You can enter from Manting Park. The guide says it is free to enter from the other side, but we were going to watch a performance in Manting anyway, so it didn't matter. It's still worth a look. It's quite nice to take pictures here in Dai costumes.
Beautiful! The same style as Thailand. If you are visiting Manting Park, you can go directly to this temple, visit it and then return to the park~
Xishuangbanna General Buddhist Temple has a long history. It was a holy place for the former supreme ruler of Xishuangbanna, Zhao Pianling (literally translated as the Lord of the Land or the King of the Land), and chieftains to worship Buddha. Now Buddhist believers still regard this temple as a holy place for worshiping Buddha. There are constant pilgrims and tourists who often visit here.
The folk songs and dances at Zongfo Temple are worth seeing, and it is even better to participate in the bonfire party yourself
Jinghong General Buddhist Temple is located near Manting Park in Jinghong City. It is the center for Buddhist believers in Xishuangbanna to worship Buddha. The temple is located in a rectangular courtyard with the gate opening at the west end of the north side. The current General Buddhist Temple covers an area of 3,000 square meters and a construction area of about 1,000 square meters. It consists of the Buddhist Hall "Weihan", the Buddhist College Teaching Building, the "Posu" (literally translated as the Lotus Top Pavilion) under construction, and the monk's room "Hongnuan". On one side of the gate of Jinghong General Buddhist Temple, there is a bungalow with a big drum. The walls of the room are painted with Buddhist stories called "Dasaxi Za" and several Buddha statues.
The Zongfo Temple is located in Manting Park and is very beautiful.
It was under renovation when we went there, but the environment was still good, just a little small. It is in Manting Park.
You don't need a ticket to visit the Zongfo Temple. You can also walk into the Big Buddha Temple in the middle. You have to buy incense and other things yourself. It's a big temple. Walking from the temple is the back door of Manting Park. The ticket for Manting Park is 43 yuan on Meituan. Whether it's worth it depends on the individual. I think it's okay. There are Dai buildings and a small Dai palace. The toilet is only at the main entrance!!!
It is at the back door of Manting Park. It is free to visit. It is not big and some buildings are under repair. You can go there if you have time.
The temple is small but majestic. It is connected to Manting, and there are many incense offerings. You can draw lots without spending any money. Just donate some merit money and feel at ease. I think it's good to come here just to see the temple. After all, the tickets for the general temple are a bit expensive, but the atmosphere is still the same😊
This is a place worth visiting in Xishuangbanna. If you are interested, please contact me.
The Xishuangbanna Main Buddhist Temple is located in Manting Park. The temple is magnificent and imposing, and the Thai-style temple makes people feel like they are abroad. The entire temple area is not very large, and the incense is still very prosperous. It is basically one of the must-see attractions when traveling to Xishuangbanna.
It is not a must-see attraction. You can go there if you have more time. It is next to Manting Park.
Overall: the ticket is free, but the scenery is beyond imagination.
The Zongfo Temple is very beautiful. It is outside Manting Park and no tickets are required to enter.
Xishuangbanna Main Buddhist Temple was built in the 7th century by two monks from Myanmar. It has a history of more than 1,000 years and is the earliest Theravada Buddhist temple established in Xishuangbanna.
I went there many years ago, so my memory is a bit vague. I just remember there was a very tall Buddha and the whole temple was magnificent. I don't know if it was the one in the picture.
The Zong Fo Temple is adjacent to Manting Park and is open to the public free of charge. It can usually be visited after visiting Manting Park.
Among the Buddhist temples in Xishuangbanna, we highly recommend the Xishuangbanna General Buddhist Temple, which is located behind Manting Park. In addition to being free to visit, it is absolutely a visual feast to see the magnificent and majestic Buddhist temple standing brightly under the blue sky of southern Yunnan. And each of the temple-guarding Vajra, which is meticulously carved and vivid, is also worth savoring slowly. We lingered on every stair of the temple like tireless children, our eyes slowly glide over the beautiful golden murals. We were lucky to see a group of yellow-robed monks coming to the temple to look at the sunset before leaving. Although the gradually darkening sky did not have a blazing sunset glow, it was slanting with a round, yellow-orange, bright sunset, which moved us deeply.
The toilet is at the back near the river. It's pretty, and the night market is around it.
There are very few people. I think if you are not a Buddhist, there is no need to come here. It is not very straight.
Xishuangbanna Main Buddhist Temple is behind Manting Park. It is free to visit. It is magnificent.
From the White Pagoda in Manting Park, you can reach the Buddhist center of Xishuangbanna - Zongfo Temple, which is free but has fewer tourists. The building was rebuilt in the 1990s and looks magnificent.

Xishuangbanna General Buddhist Temple, located in the southwest of Manting Royal Garden in Jinghong City, is a very beautiful free tourist attraction. It is magnificent and magnificent. It is a tourist attraction worth recommending.
The environment and architectural style are great, the details are also very good, with style and characteristics, the construction of the Buddhist temple can be called art ~ At the same time, you can pretend that you are in Thailand every minute, hahahaha
The Zongfo Temple is located in Manting Park, and the architecture is magnificent.
What is sacred and what is spectacular. This is a free attraction unique to Banna. Others are too commercial.
This is the only free Buddhist temple I know of in Xishuangbanna. It is magnificent and very impressive. It is a great free place that you should visit.
Zongfo Temple is the center for Buddhists in Xishuangbanna to worship Buddha. It is seamlessly connected to Manting Park. The temple is magnificent and golden, and you feel like you are in Thailand. Buddhist stories are played in the temple, and there is a special flavor in the lingering incense and candles. You can sit anywhere and listen quietly, and spend an afternoon.
The Zongfo Temple is free, but another Mengle Grand Buddha Temple in Jinghong charges a fee, so we didn't go there! I think it's enough to visit the Zongfo Temple and experience the Buddhist culture.
If Manting is the back garden of the Dai King, then the Zongfo Temple is more like its soul. Once you step into the temple, you will be shocked by the lifelike Buddha statues. The momentum is different from the temples you have seen before. It is more brilliant and splendid. Listening to the chanting played over and over again in the temple, it seems that you can understand part of it. This ticket is really worth the trip...
