It is the largest freshwater lake in Zhejiang Province, consisting of Guzi Lake, Mei Lake and Wai Lake, which is four times the size of West Lake in Hangzhou.
The most popular attraction of Dongqian Lake is the long embankment near Xiaoputuo. It is recommended to walk along the long embankment and enjoy the scenery of Dongqian Lake.
In addition to visiting scenic spots, cycling around Dongqian Lake can be said to be the most popular activity, where you can leisurely enjoy the lake and mountain scenery and natural villages along the coast.
The Plum Garden by the Dongqian Lake is known as one of the most beautiful plum blossom viewing spots in Ningbo.

Beware! Beware! When you visit Dongqian Lake, after arriving at the tourist distribution center, don't be deceived by scammers who say "you can't drive there" or "it's very close to ride around the lake" and go to the store in the first picture below to rent a bicycle. This store is in collusion with more than one scammer. We were deceived into renting a single bicycle at a price of 50 yuan per bicycle. As a result, we could only ride a few kilometers from here to the entrance of Xiaoputuo Scenic Area and had to return the same way. Because it takes more than five hours to ride around the lake on a mountain road for dozens of miles from here, we had to give up. When we returned the bicycle, we met two groups of tourists who were also deceived by scammers to rent bicycles here. Two of them gave up after riding for only half an hour. Chatting, I learned that it was not the same person who deceived us, but the reasons for deceiving were similar. In fact, tourists who drive themselves can drive along the lakeside road to Jijiazhuang, park there, and then rent a bicycle. There is a special cycling path there. You can ride for a few kilometers to experience it. The scenery is also good. There is grass where you can set up a tent to rest when you are tired. There are also rental points in Shili Sixiang nearby. Single-person bikes are valid for 21 hours, and there are also three-person bikes, as shown in Figures 2, 3, and 4 below.
The late spring morning mist soaked the banks of Dongqian Lake, the bluestone slabs were soaked with the coolness of the Southern Song Dynasty stone carvings, the lake surface was wrinkled into silk by the tips of egrets' wings, the water marks cut by the cruise ship had just healed and were pecked by wild ducks, the reflection of Hanling Ancient Village floated in the sparkling waves, the horse head wall and the homestay cafe collided into ink in the ripples. The wooden plank road caught the drooping willow lines, the silver arc thrown by the fishing rod scared the fish swimming among the algae, the cyclists passed by the Northern Song Dynasty Miaogou Stone Archway, the jingling of the bicycle bells shook off the 800-year-old moss in the cracks of the stone, and when the bell of Xiaoputuo in the center of the lake reached the foot of Taogong Mountain, the tram around the lake crushed the bayberry fragrance all over the ground, the dusk spread over the Butuo Dongtian stone carvings, and the evening breeze rolled up thousands of hectares of green glass. Looking back suddenly, Dongqian Lake has turned into a half-wet inkstone, soaked with the Siming Mountains and the skyline of the new city, and slowly spread out into a half-rolled, wet water-colored long axis in the twilight.
It's not far from Shanghai, and it only takes three hours to drive there. I stayed at the Huaboyuan Resort Hotel by the lake. I rode a bicycle around the lake in the morning, which was very relaxing.
In the misty rainy season, take a stroll and your soul will find peace and relaxation.
Today is the second day of my shift. I brought my wife and children to Ningbo's back garden - Dongqian Lake. Although Dongqian Lake is not well-known, the scenery is very beautiful. Today is a sunny day. Under the bright sun, the lake is as clear as a mirror, with rippling blue waves. It is surrounded by mountains and green trees. The lake is vast and misty, and occasionally you can see a small boat, which is a pleasing picture. It is just like a paradise on earth.
Known as the back garden of Ningbo, it has mountains, water and temples.
On a cloudy day, the lake is covered with mist, giving it a sense of landscape painting.
Cycling by the lake, stopping and starting, catching the tail of summer, admiring the lotus flowers waiting for me to appreciate
The night at Dongqian Lake is still very peaceful. The wind is strong and cool by the lake. The north is a little more lively than the south. The scenery by the lake is still good. Many people dance by the lake at night. When the weather is good at night, you can see many stars. The scenery you see in the morning is even more beautiful, with white clouds in the south sky. It is very suitable for breathing oxygen when you have time.
Although my hometown is not far from Dongqian Lake, I always drive past it. This time I bought a ticket to go into Xiaoputuo to take a look. There were not many people. I walked in and had a look. It was a good experience to take a speedboat for 50 yuan and then take a boat back to the entrance of the scenic area.
It is really big. So it is suitable to ride a bicycle to visit Dongqian Lake.
Some small scenic spots in the lake, such as Taogong Island, are charged separately.
The entire lake is too big to cycle around in one day and it would be very tiring.
Dongqian Lake looks very grand and majestic from a distance, but when you get close, you can find that it is also charming and gentle. It feels like being in a water village in the south of the Yangtze River.
Dongqian Lake is backed by green mountains and bordered by plains to the north. It is more beautiful than West Lake. Unfortunately, the sky was not good during the rainy season and it rained heavily. Despite this, the mist in the rain made Dongqian Lake look like a fairyland.
Dongqian Lake is very big, three times the size of West Lake. There are many nice attractions around the lake, but there are very few tourists, so it's fun to play there. Fuquan Mountain is particularly fun, with beautiful scenery, tea trees, terraced fields, ponds, and teahouses, which are very suitable for a rest. Longtan Teahouse is especially suitable for outdoor weddings during travel.
Dongqian Lake, praised by Mr. Guo Moruo as "the scenery of West Lake and the spirit of Taihu Lake", is indeed very large. It is very nice to stroll around after the rain, without the sun and accompanied by a cool breeze, with fresh air and not many people. However, the scenery is still far from that of West Lake. I feel that such a good scenic spot is poorly planned. If the planning is better, it would be better to string together several scenic spots. However, there are local villagers who ride electric tricycles for dozens of yuan to take you around small attractions, which is also good. If the weather is clear, you can go for a walk in the nearby hotel for a holiday, which is great to relax!
Dongqian Lake was praised by Mr. Guo Moruo as having "the scenery of West Lake and the spirit of Taihu Lake", but I feel that it has neither the beauty of West Lake nor the vastness of Taihu Lake. It is a bit neither good nor bad, and the scenery is still relatively rough.
Ningbo Dongqian Lake is also known as East Lake. It takes about 40 minutes to take a boat around the North Lake. Xiayu Temple is a place to visit. You don't have to get off the boat for the rest. Ningbo Dongqian Lake (also known as Wanjin Lake), praised by Mr. Guo Moruo as "the scenery of West Lake and the spirit of Taihu Lake", is the largest natural freshwater lake in Zhejiang. It consists of Guzi Lake, Mei Lake and Waihu Lake. Famous attractions include Fuquan Mountain, Taogong Island (there is a saying that Yue doctor Fan Li retired here with Xi Shi to fish in seclusion), Yue Ewang Temple, Yu Xiang Book House, etc.
I have been to Dongqian Lake twice. I experienced the bustle once and the tranquility once. I have never written a review. I am so sorry. 😂
I like Dongqian Lake in the early morning. It is so beautiful, like a park and a big oxygen bar. I can't love it more! Blue and green~ It is worth driving to Shanghai in the early morning of the Qingming Festival to see this beautiful scenery!
It is a very suitable place for cycling around the lake, and the scenery is also good. Especially at sunrise and sunset, it is great!
The grandeur of Taihu Lake and the elegance of West Lake, the Oriental Fortune Lake is also a national tourist resort, and the scenic spots in the middle of the lake are still very good
It's a very good attraction, but we were in a hurry and didn't have much time to play.
Dongqian Lake, also known as Qian Lake and Wanjin Lake, is a famous scenic spot in Zhejiang Province. It is 15 kilometers east of Ningbo City. The southeast of the lake is backed by green mountains, and the northwest of the lake is close to the plain. I went there on October 22, 2017. The scenery is very beautiful. If you want to see the water, it is better than Jiulong Lake. I personally feel that Dongqian Lake has both the vastness of Taihu Lake and the misty beauty of West Lake. Walking along the lake, you will feel different. The lake breeze is intoxicating. Xiaoputuo has pleasant scenery. The ticket price is 30. It will be cheaper if you buy it online. It is worth a visit. The banks of the lake are all stone, flat and can be sat on. You can enjoy the scenery of the lake and mountains, or you can meditate.
After passing Ningbo, an old classmate took me for a tour around Dongqian Lake. No tickets were required. There were a lot of people on weekends, but the scenery was great. It was nice to take a walk and have a look in your spare time.
The scenery is beautiful. It was a bit cloudy that day, so the photos are not very clear.
Renting a bicycle and riding around the lake will definitely give you a different experience. Not necessarily the places with expensive money are the best, and not necessarily the places with five-star recommendations are the best. Dongqian Lake completely refreshed my cognition, and it was worth the trip. Go deep into the alleys and go around West Street and East Street. If you are a city dweller, there will definitely be surprises waiting for you in two hours. There is a different scenery on rainy days.
During the Spring Festival, there were not many people in this scenic spot, and the spring scenery could not be hidden.
The scenery is beautiful, but the weather is so hot! On the way there, we got off at Xiaoputuo, and then saw the lake view, Limin Village, stalls selling snacks and fish, floating houses, and travelers resting on the big lawn. On the way back, it took at least half an hour to walk from Xiaoputuo back to Taogong Island and then to the Music Square. By the end of the walk, my feet were a little sore. It is also a good choice to relax and walk and feel the sea breeze during the holidays.
I really couldn't find the tourist service center using the navigation, and the management of bicycle rentals was a bit messy, but it is undeniable that the scenery is really good, and it is even more enjoyable to ride around if you have good physical strength.
Both Bus 906 and Bus 906 major station sections can reach Dongqian Lake Tourist Service Center, and the journey takes about 1 hour.
When I arrived at the tourist service center at around 9 o'clock, it was still empty. There were information shelves introducing attractions in various parts of Ningbo, and even some attractions outside Ningbo, but there was no map information about Dongqian Lake.
After exiting the tourist service center and walking past the hotel, you will see the lake. A security guard said that this is the cruise ship terminal and you can take a boat there or walk there, which is about 4 kilometers away.
Walking on the plank road in the lake, you can see the golden light in the middle of the lake. That should be the statue of Tao Gong on Tao Gong Island.
There is a "Mirror Water" in the middle of the wooden plank road. At this moment, the water has been drained and a group of workers are cleaning the floor inside. Is this to prepare for the large flow of tourists during the Spring Festival? The lotus and lotus stone carvings inside...
From the visitor center, you can take 901 or 907 to the core scenic area to Xiao Putuo, or you can walk. Cross the wooden plank road and walk along the lake for more than 20 minutes. The road is divided into two sides. Continue to walk along the lake to the left road. You can see the entrance to Taogong Island in 5 minutes. Don't go in, keep going forward. It is 1.5 kilometers away from Xiao Putuo. There is an upward road on the side of Taogong Road. One sign points to the Park Hyatt Hotel and the other one points to the shuttle bus of Xiao Putuo Scenic Area. I don't understand what it means? The ecology is good, there are big birds and red-billed wild ducks in the lake.
The beautiful Dongqian Lake Shili Sixiang Scenic Area has a Shiwai Taoyuan Ceramics Museum, which I really like. Next to it is a large Qiqi barbecue garden with fresh and delicious ingredients. You can also ride a bicycle around the lake. It is suitable for family outings or group activities. Recommended
Dongqian Lake is worth a visit, and the cycling experience around the lake is great. Dongqian Lake Scenic Tourist Area is the largest freshwater lake in Zhejiang. It consists of Guzi Lake, Mei Lake and Waihu Lake, which is four times the size of West Lake in Hangzhou and can be called "the first lake on the coast of China". There is a dike on the lake, which is 4 kilometers long from east to west and divides the lake into two. The lake is surrounded by mountains, and 72 streams converge here to form a huge natural reservoir. Whenever there is drought, the gates are opened to release water, which can irrigate the farmland in Fenghua, Yinxian and Zhenhai. It is also a freshwater breeding base, so it is also called Wanjin Lake. Dongqian Lake originally had ten scenic spots such as Tao Gong Fishing Rock, Yu Xiang Book House, Baibu Songcui, Xiayu Suolan, Shuanghong Luocai, Erling Sunset, Shanglin Xiaozhong, Luting Suyan, Yinwan Fishing Fire, and Baishixianping.
Dongqian Lake is great and worth a visit, but if you want to ride around the lake and visit attractions like Xiaoputuo Taogong Island, you need to set aside a whole day, otherwise you will not have enough time.
The charm of Xizi Lake and the grandeur of Taihu Lake are both very worthwhile attractions to visit, but they are not as well-known as West Lake and Taihu Lake.
Dongqian Lake has beautiful scenery.
The scenery of each season is different, a good place to go on weekends and holidays~
Yay! I spent the whole afternoon at the small Dongqian Lake. A very comfortable little park. :)
On the last day, we came to Dongqian Lake. The biggest regret is that we didn't have enough time here. Parking is 10 yuan, and Xiaoputuo is 30 yuan.
It's a small scenic spot. I wandered around for a long time... From noon to sunset! It was a little foggy, and the fairyland-like Dongqian Lake was revealed in the haze.
There were no more than ten people in the entire scenic area. It was a small lake. I stayed there for the whole afternoon and left after watching the sunset. It was comfortable and heartwarming.
When we arrived, we went to the first scenic spot, Dongqian Lake! We didn't spend money to buy tickets to enter the scenic area, but just looked around. It's okay. You can drive around the lake and stop to see nice places, such as waterside trails and green spaces. There are more people and cars if you get close to the scenic area!
It is not recommended to pay 30 yuan for the ticket. It is not worth it to row a boat and you have to spend extra money.
Dongqian Lake is so big, it's nice to bring your own food and drinks and find a place you like to sit down.
The lake is vast and the entire scenic area does not require tickets, but each small attraction along the lake requires separate tickets. The most unique experience here is cycling around the lake and mooring a boat on the lake. It is a great place for leisure and vacation.
Like many cities, Ningbo also has a large lake, Dongqian Lake. Dongqian Lake is neither too close nor too far from the city center, and is said to be larger than the West Lake in Hangzhou. Although a lot of money has been invested in it, the degree of development is basically the same as the original ecology. There are no high-rise buildings or mountains around it. When the weather is clear, the not-so-clear lake water matches the entire sky, which also has a unique flavor.
At first, I went there for Dongqian Lake, but later, what really attracted me was the water village culture here. Generations of fishermen have made a living here by fishing, and the original ecological houses have been preserved. Fishing boats are moored outside the door, and people are resting by the lake, washing clothes and mending nets. Their lives seem to have not changed for many years, and this is exactly what attracts me the most.
Beautiful scenery, not many tourists, a good place near Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai
There is nothing to see in the lake, and the bridge is charged. I am drunk~ But the original fishing village is quiet and simple~ The locals fish and cook twice-cooked pork~ Warm
Dongqian Lake is a place with extremely beautiful scenery. It is also well-known in the eastern Zhejiang region. The tickets are very cheap. Several small scenic spots are 30 yuan each. Student ID cards are half price (but we are already past that age). We rode through many places. When we came, we took Zhaolong Road and Century Avenue through Changhong Tunnel. When we came back, we were exhausted from Beilun and passed through Yongjiang Tunnel. The Yongjiang Tunnel on the return trip was a little longer than the Changhong Tunnel. I almost didn’t get up 😂😂. In fact, I was physically exhausted. If I ride again next time, I still need to practice more. There are beautiful scenery everywhere along the way. The deepest ones are Taogong Island and Xiaoputuo and the natural scenery on the bicycle path along the way. Yager Zoo, Southern Song Stone Carving Park, Fuquan Mountain, the lakes and mountains along the coast and the natural villages are also the biggest gains. The whole process can only be described in one word: very cool! It was a wish come true, and I didn't lose anyone. I didn't fall behind during the whole process. The only drawback is that the bike is not very powerful. The 21-speed is indeed a bit slow. Next time, I will definitely change to a 27-speed one. It's been two years since I graduated from college. I will use a heartfelt ride to commemorate this Labor Day! 😀😀😀
The scenery is good, but the public facilities are average and need to be improved
There is a lot of traffic on weekends, it is easy to get stuck, and the scenery is average~
The scenic area has a good view but parking is difficult. The barbecue inside is good and there are wooden houses.
It is still very good to visit Dongqian Lake in summer. Dongqian Lake is very large, you can practice your leg strength, you can get close to the water, and you can visit Buddha from afar. It is said that Fan Li once lived in seclusion here, but I don’t know whether it is true or not. (Went here on May 2, 2007)
It's a pretty big lake with nice greenery around it. It's quite comfortable to ride a bike.
Dongqian Lake is the largest lake in Zhejiang. A long embankment divides the lake into two parts, east and west. The scenic spots are divided into two major scenic spots, Taogong Mountain and Xiaoputuo. The ticket price for Taogong Mountain is 20 yuan, and the ticket price for Xiaoputuo is 30 yuan. You can get a 5 yuan discount if you book on the website. You can rent a bicycle around the lake for 35 yuan per hour for a double bicycle and 25 hours for a single bicycle. The price is negotiable. There is a lot of traffic, so you need to be very careful when riding a bicycle. Dongqian Lake is more than 15 kilometers away from the city of Ningbo, and most people drive there by themselves. Therefore, there are so many people that you have to count the number of people after 10 o'clock.
Friends who like rapeseed flowers must go, but be sure not to destroy the rapeseed flowers on a large scale, after all, these are the source of income for farmers.
I went to Ningbo in August 2012. I had nothing to do so I went to Dongqian Lake. The weather was good that day and there were not many tourists. We walked around the lake.
The morning view of Dongqian Lake is tranquil and beautiful, showing the graceful charm of the Jiangnan region.
Dongqian Lake is very big and has many scenic spots, but none of them are worth visiting and are not recommended. Don't go to Xiaoputuo, Taogong Island, Yuewang Temple, Southern Song Stone Carving Park, Fuquan Mountain, etc.!!! When you come to Dongqian Lake, you have to do one thing: go around the lake! Go around the lake! Go around the lake! I say it three times! There are routes around the lake ranging from 30 to 70 kilometers, which can be walked, driven, or bicycled. Remember to walk along the lakeside, as the roads are now repaired!
I had planned to go to Tianyi Pavilion during the Golden Week this year, but Typhoon Dujuan caused water accumulation in Tianyi Pavilion and it was temporarily closed. I temporarily changed to Dongqian Lake, which is said to be 4 times the size of Taihu Lake, but the road to Xiaoputuo was under construction and there was not even a sign. I had to go back and the traffic was congested, so it took me twice as long to get there. The scenery is picturesque, with green trees and ⛺️ everywhere on the embankment around the lake. It is really a good place to enjoy a slow life!
I went there during the National Day holiday. Because I was traveling on a budget, I only visited Xiao Putuo and Taogong Island. I visited Xiao Putuo first. The ticket I booked online was 26 yuan, but the original price was 30 yuan. It was mainly for worshiping Buddha. I didn't think there were any highlights in other attractions. The Guanyin Pond on the Water was also dirty and the lake water was also turbid because it had just flooded. After visiting Xiao Putuo, I came back to visit Taogong Island. The ticket for Taogong Island was 30 yuan. I bought the ticket on the spot because I couldn't find a reservation online. I felt that this 30 yuan was really not worth it. The attractions inside were very ordinary and there were no highlights. Free or less than 10 yuan tickets were barely acceptable. 30 yuan was too expensive and super not worth it. If you want to take a bus, just take 901. You can take it at the East Bus Station, but the bus takes a long time on the way. The bus terminal is Xiao Putuo Scenic Area, and Taogong Island Scenic Area is at Taogong Island Station two or three stops away from the terminal~
Usually, we go to Dongqian Lake in groups of three or five to ride bikes and have barbecues.
I rented a bicycle and rode around the lake. It was a unique experience. Looking at the lake, I thought of the vastness of the lake.
Not bad, it's worth going in summer! The sky is blue, there are many activities, and there are not many people as long as you don't go on weekends!
Friends who are not familiar with the road conditions said that they took a lot of detours. At first, they arrived at the Dongqian Lake Tourism Distribution Center, which was very deserted. It was a naval training base, full of military vehicles, and no photos were allowed. Later, I walked for a long time before I got a taxi. It turned out that I was supposed to go to Dongqian Lake Park. Too much time was wasted in the morning, and there was no place to eat lunch. There was a restaurant by the lake, but it was past lunch time when we arrived, so we strolled around the lakeside plank road and went back. If I was not in a hurry, I really wanted to ride around the lake and go to Xiao Putuo~~~ Unfortunately, I missed too much time in the morning. I will go there again if I have a chance. The scenery by the lake is beautiful, and the key is that there are no large crowds, so I can enjoy this tranquility!
There isn't much space to visit in the scenic area, so riding a bicycle along the lake is a good option.
If you walk eastward along the Taogong Causeway, which is similar to the Su Causeway in Hangzhou, you will reach Xiao Putuo. You can also take a small bus at your own expense of 8 yuan and go directly to the scenic spot from the gate of the scenic area.
In addition to Xiao Putuo and Fuquan Mountain, Dongqian Lake has two other places worth recommending:
First, the scenery of the section around the south lake road is also very good, especially the section from the water park to Xiangkan... Sitting on the grass for an afternoon, enjoying the lake breeze and watching the yachts, it is very comfortable... In addition, in the water park, you can see tulips in spring... In autumn, the ginkgo forest diagonally opposite the water park is a good place to see ginkgo...
Second, the wooden plank road around the lake on Huanhu East Road (Huabo Park-Shili Sixiang) is particularly suitable for cycling and watching the sunset...
Dongqian Lake is the largest freshwater lake in Zhejiang Province. Its area is nearly four times larger than that of West Lake in Hangzhou. There are numerous relics scattered on the lake, such as the Southern Song Dynasty grotto "Butuo Dongtian", which is a scene on the lake!
It's nice to stroll around leisurely, but there are a lot of bugs on the roadside
The summer in Dongqian Lake is unrestrained and passionate. Even if you live by the water, you can't stop the scorching heat.
Personally, I think if you are traveling on a budget, don't go to the scenic spot. Because there are several scenic spots in this area, the tickets are quite expensive. It is not very cost-effective. It is better to rent a bicycle and ride around the lake. If you want to go, you can go to Taogong Island or Xiaoputuo for barbecue, which is good.
Walking on the road, the sea breeze on both sides blows towards you, very fresh!
The scenery is very beautiful ~ there are not many people, it is recommended to go for a walk.
I am ashamed to say that as a fairly authentic Ningbo native, I have always been fascinated by the beauty of Hangzhou West Lake and the grandeur of Wuhan East Lake, but rarely visited the nearby Dongqian Lake. This time, taking the opportunity to soak in the hot springs, I was finally able to calm down, slow down, stroll along the lake, and savor the beauty of Dongqian Lake. I have always wanted to sit in a rowboat and shuttle through the reeds of Xixi, but today I suddenly discovered that it is also a special experience to have a close contact with the reeds in Mashan Wetland. ] The most beautiful Dongqian Lake, next time I will ride slowly and savor it carefully.
Ningbo is foggy today, the lake is gray and white, and the scenery is much less beautiful. Maybe it's because of the weather, there are basically no people in Dongqian Lake, but it's still okay overall.
It was evening when we went there, and there were a lot of people there. Unfortunately, the park was under renovation and we couldn't go in. We rented a bicycle in the square outside and rode around.
Dongqian Lake has gradually become a new tourist resort in Ningbo, and cycling around Dongqian Lake is one of its major features!
Dongqian Lake fulfilled my dream of riding a tandem bike. On the professional riding trail, the lake and mountains, lotus flowers and lotus couples are picturesque. The cool breeze blowing by is really comfortable!
Dongqian Lake, also known as Qian Lake and Wanjin Lake, is a famous scenic spot in Zhejiang Province. It is 15 kilometers east of Ningbo City. The southeast of the lake is backed by green mountains, and the northwest of the lake is close to the plain, that is, 121°34′ east longitude and 28°52′ north latitude. It is part of the geology of Fujian and Zhejiang, and is a natural lagoon formed by geological movements in ancient times. It was praised by Mr. Guo Moruo as "the scenery of West Lake and the spirit of Taihu Lake". Dongqian Lake consists of Guzi Lake, Mei Lake and Waihu Lake. It is 8.5 kilometers long from north to south, 6.5 kilometers wide from east to west, 45 kilometers around the lake, and covers an area of 22 square kilometers. It is the largest (natural) freshwater lake in Zhejiang Province, 3 times the area of West Lake in Hangzhou, with an average water depth of 2.2 meters and a total water storage capacity of 33.9 million cubic meters.
