Hangzhou Bay Bridge

杭州湾大桥

The Hangzhou Bay Bridge starts from Zhengjiadai in Haiyan, Jiaxing City in the north and ends at Shuiluwan in Cixi, Ningbo City, with a total length of 36 kilometers. It is a fast passage between Shanghai, southern Jiangsu and the northern gate of Ningbo. It is very convenient to drive to Ningbo and Zhoushan to eat seafood and to Suzhou to enjoy gardens via the cross-sea bridge on weekends. It looks even more beautiful when the lights are on at night. The winding bridge spans the Hangzhou Bay, and it goes without saying that it is visually shocking. The railings along the way are painted in seven rainbow-like colors, which is not only an interesting and beautiful scenery, but also can remind drivers of the mileage distance. The Haitian Yizhou in the middle of the bridge is the landmark building of the bridge. The building is unique in shape, resembling an eagle spreading its wings (platform + observation tower 100 yuan). You can go up to the observation deck to overlook the bridge and the scenery of Hangzhou Bay. You can also buy Jinhua ham, Putuoshan Guanyin cake and other specialty foods.

The Hangzhou Bay Bridge, a long bridge connecting Jiaxing and Ningbo in Zhejiang Province, boasts colorful railings, making driving across it a delightful experience. The sea, a golden hue under the sun, is a sight to behold.

By Begonia |

The car sped across the vast bridge, the boundless East China Sea visible on either side. Under a gray sky, snowflakes fluttered softly against the windowpanes, making it feel like a dream. After a while, we spotted a large platform and building on the right side of the bridge. It turned out to be an observation deck and rest stop built on the sea, offering accommodation, dining, and leisure. We bought a package ticket for 80 yuan per person to the 17th-floor tower and the recreation area. Amidst the heavy snow and chill wind, we gazed out at the vast East China Sea, overlooking the majestic bridge that stretched from the distance like a giant dragon beneath our feet. We watched a digital animation of the bridge's construction, marveling at the advancement of technology and the prosperity of the Yangtze River Delta.

On October 4, 2010, my family and I drove from Shanghai to Zhoushan, passing the Hangzhou Bay Bridge. We felt what China’s infrastructure mania is like.

By hyacinth! |

The view from the plane is very long and spectacular.

By zhm_jinan |

I've walked past it many times, but if you want to see it beautiful, you have to go up to the sky to appreciate it.

By Happy Hideaway |

Whether you go or not is up to you; you must walk on the bridge. On a nice day, I recommend visiting the "Hai Tian Yi Zhou" viewing platform for a surprising discovery. The only downside is that the entrance fee is a bit pricey.

A cross-sea bridge saves traffic routes and time, but it is not very meaningful to visit

By If the water is careless |

The long, long, long sea-crossing bridge has a surprising array of colorful guardrails. From the Jiangsu side, it's purple, blue, green, yellow, orange, and red. The red guardrail signals the end of the bridge. On the way, we passed a scenic spot called Haitian Yizhou. The parking lot was full on the empty bridge, so we missed it. Just across the bridge, right next to Ningbo Fantawild! I'll definitely come back next time!

By bamboo |

After all the red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple flowers have bloomed, we arrived in Zhejiang from Jiangsu. There is a "Sea and Sky Continent" in the middle. If you are interested, you can go and see it.

With some excitement, we planned to go to this legendary cross-sea bridge to experience it, but because the weather was not very good, the sea water was turbid yellow, and there was no sunset to contrast with it. Only the sea breeze blew, telling our thoughts. There is an observation deck on the cross-sea bridge. It is recommended to go up and take a look when the weather is good. The ticket price is also okay, but the parking fee is a bit expensive. We parked for less than 40 minutes and charged 15 yuan. It is recommended that everyone go there with caution.

By Liu Zhijun |

The entire course is 30 kilometers, the speed limit is 100, the railings have 7 colors, and there is an observation deck

By Massive |

The Hangzhou Bay Bridge has significantly shortened the distance between Shanghai and Hangzhou! The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, which opened at the end of 2018, is also quite impressive! Infrastructure maniacs dominate the universe!

By Soaring Tree |

Very awesome, very grand, I like it very much, it's a magical and great project

By jangkii |

When we arrived that day, there were too many tourists and the parking lot of Haitian Yizhou was full, so we were unable to go in for sightseeing.

By Doudoudoudoudou |

You can pass by by car or by car. It is quite spectacular, but the car cannot stop, so you can only look at this bridge.

By Bald Qiang |

The longest bridge in China was originally 32 kilometers long, but it has just been surpassed by the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge. I imagined it to be very beautiful and spectacular, but when I was actually there, I didn’t feel anything at all!

By hbzczwzj |

Tickets for Haitianyizhou are 50 yuan for the viewing platform, 60 yuan for the tower, and 80 yuan for all. Watch a 4-minute 3D film introducing the Hangzhou Bay Bridge. Parking is free for the first 15 minutes and 20 yuan per hour.

By Liu Xixi |

The bridge, designed to lie on the waves, resembles a colorful chain stretched across the sea—magnificent and beautiful! Now nearly eleven years old, it has withstood typhoons, high tides, wave impacts, deck loads, and other external forces, yet it continues to perform exceptionally well, maintaining its stable performance and pristine appearance. This monumental project is truly impressive! This Spring Festival, Mr. Duo and I decided to visit the free shipping area to experience the bridge's charm. We were on the bridge at sunset, and the sun was so large and slowly setting. It was truly breathtaking! A phone can't capture the breathtaking scene; you have to experience it in person.

By Little Ant |

The bridge railings are in seven different colors, each 5 kilometers long. Passing through the colorful and spectacular buildings, you arrive in Ningbo.

By Travel to the edge of the universe |

It shortened the journey from Zhoushan to Shanghai, which is great

By DrZou |

Driving from Jiangsu to Zhoushan through the ropeway is spectacular

By Study hard and work hard every day |

I've walked this bridge many times, and the weather and the amount of traffic can affect my experience. Going to Haitian Yizhou on a clear day with less traffic is a great way to take a break and see it. It's a bit pricey, though.

By Back |

It is very convenient to enter and exit Zhejiang, and there is basically no congestion. I drive by it several times every year.

By Eagle |

The bridge is winding and there is an exhibition hall in the middle that you should visit.

By Yuanyuan's mother |

It is bigger and longer than the Jiashao Bridge, and it took a very long time to drive on the sea before reaching the land.

By ty |

The Hangzhou Bay Bridge is the longest line connecting Hangzhou and Ningbo. The sea view along the way is breathtaking. There are also places where you can stop and rest in the middle of the journey.

By mewkuma |

The over 30km long cross-sea bridge is incredibly impressive and served as the closest land route on our journey from Shanghai to Zhoushan. We passed Haitian Yizhou on the way, which boasts the world's only offshore viewing platform. I hope to visit someday.

I went to Ningbo late at night. Although I couldn’t see the sea, I was still very excited. I checked the information about the Hangzhou Bay Bridge. Hmm, it’s great!

By Mars User |

The chartered car to Ningbo is to go through the Hangzhou Bay Bridge, which is magnificent. There is a rest stop in the middle. It is really a big deal.

By A small boat |

The Rainbow Bridge is very unique. I was a little scared when crossing it on a rainy day, for fear that the car would slip and fall into the sea, haha

By Peaceful and tranquil |

I deliberately made a big turn to walk across the sea bridge. Although the weather was not very good when I passed by and there was a rainstorm in the second half, it did not affect its greatness and magnificence.

By Yushan Aboriginal people |

In just over half an hour's drive, you can feel the country's powerful strength throughout the journey. What is even more shocking along the way is the perfect dividing line between the mudflats and the sea water.

By Reply 1988-Azhe |

Cixi was built in 2008. It has been ten years.

By Snail Loves Travel |

Driving on the cross-sea bridge, you can see different scenery and have different feelings all year round, regardless of whether it is sunny, cloudy, rainy or snowy.

By Walter Jin |

In the past, you had to take the Shanghai-Hangzhou-Ningbo Expressway through Hangzhou to get from Shanghai to Ningbo. After the bridge was repaired, it became much more convenient for business trips. When I first crossed it, I noticed the color change of the guardrail, from blue to yellow to red. Later, I took a client to Haitian Yizhou, but I didn't go to the observation deck. As a result, I didn't take any pictures of the scenery, only the turbid sea water.

By sea salt river fresh |

It's a huge project, quite shocking. There aren't many cars, probably because the toll is too expensive.

By Ha ha |

The railings of the Hangzhou Bay Bridge use seven colors, and are basically changed every five kilometers.

By Mars User |

This is the pride of Ningbo people. The funds for building the bridge were mainly invested by private enterprises in Ningbo. Because of the experience in building the Hangzhou Bay Bridge, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge was successfully built.

By venimeux |

The Hangzhou Bay Bridge is a sea-crossing bridge across the Hangzhou Bay in China. It is a magnificent wonder built by the concerted efforts and sincere cooperation of thousands of designers, engineers and construction workers.

By 59697 |

Driving on it and looking at the scenery on both sides, it is quite spectacular, but the sea water is too yellow.

By Dugu Qiubai |

China's bridge-building technology is first-class, so magnificent, it directly crosses the sea

By wA-TT Rainbow |

The bridge is very long and out of reach. It is amazing that there is such a project on the sea.

By Wandering Qiqiqi |

The world's longest cross-sea bridge

The sea level is still very calm, and at first glance it looks like yellow land.

The most thoughtful thing is that the fences on both sides will have different colors

It's good for the driver

By Xiaofeng |

The Hangzhou Bay Bridge is China's second sea-crossing and river-crossing bridge after the Shanghai Pudong East China Sea Bridge. It is accessible from Ningbo to Shanghai. At 36 kilometers long, it is 11 kilometers longer than the King Fahd Bridge connecting Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. It once held the record for the world's longest sea-crossing bridge, as determined by the China World Records Association. It is currently the third longest sea-crossing bridge in the world, after the Lake Pontchartrain Bridge in the United States and the Jiaozhou Bay Bridge in Qingdao.

By Jiang Xian |

The span length is indeed the pride of my country's modern bridges, but the quality of the Yellow Sea and East China Sea is too average, a piece of yellow soup

By Teddy |

I've never seen it before, but it's a novelty. Actually, there's nothing much to see. I really admire the Chinese bridge engineers.

By shuishou |

It is a magnificent cross-sea bridge that facilitates travel from Ningbo to Shanghai.

The Hangzhou Bay Bridge, a sea-crossing bridge spanning Hangzhou Bay in China, is a magnificent feat of collaboration and collaboration among thousands of designers, engineers, and construction workers. The bridge stretches from Zhengjiadai in Haiyan, Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province in the north to Shuiluwan in Cixi, Ningbo in the south.

By China-TravelNote user 92926296 |

When our car started to cross the sea bridge, the whole way was very spectacular.

By Snow Mountain Flying Fox |

I've been going to Putuo Mountain almost every year for the past few years, so I've crossed the bridge twice a year, but never the observation deck. Driving across the bridge isn't anything special, but watching the construction process described in the TV series "Super Project" is truly impressive.

By Han Fei Home |

The southern end is in Cixi, connecting to Shanghai. On clear days, the sea is vast from the bridge. It was still under construction when I saw it in 2005, and opened to traffic in May 2008.

By 🐳Old Fish |

Back then, a Yangtze River Bridge once made the Chinese people very excited.

Today's cross-sea bridges are often tens of kilometers long, which is incomparable!

So spectacular!

By Pretty Fat Guy |

The Hangzhou Bay Bridge is more famous than the East China Sea Bridge. It is the second super-long cross-sea bridge built in my country after the East China Sea Bridge, but its scenery is not as beautiful as the East China Sea Bridge!

By Is that Miss Liu Maomao? |

It has long held the honor of being the world's longest cross-sea bridge. It is well-deserved. The night view is beautiful and it is worth a walk.

The bridge is very long, dozens of kilometers long, with yellow sea water on both sides. There is a hotel in the middle. It should be interesting to sleep here.

It's a great building with seven colors, five kilometers each. It's very grand and not easy to build.

The bridge is 36 kilometers long, of which 35.7 kilometers are on the bridge deck. It is a six-lane highway in both directions with a design speed of 100 kilometers per hour and a design service life of over 100 years. This length is 11 kilometers longer than the King Fahd Bridge connecting Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, and exceeds world-famous bridges such as the Chesapeake Bay Bridge in the United States[2]. It is the third longest bridge in the world and the longest cross-sea bridge in the world.

Hangzhou Bay Bridge

I came here because I was going to study in Nanjing, and my father asked me to come and take a look.

We bought a combined ticket, which included the observation tower and the observation platform, for 100 yuan per person. If you hold a university admission letter, it is 40 yuan cheaper, and the price may be the same if you have a student ID.

The sightseeing platform is a very large platform. It feels great to come here when the weather is good and you can see the endless sea.

Then there's the observation tower. A tip: When you get on the elevator, there'll be a staff member directing you. Tell them you need coins, or bring some one-yuan coins with you. The telescope requires one-yuan coins for 60 seconds. There's not much to see, really; just get a close-up look at the bridge, and two views are enough.

The elevator goes up to the 16th floor, and you have to climb up to the 17th floor yourself, which is quite quick. The 17th floor is the 3D Magic Palace, which is basically a 3D art gallery with pictures on the wall, shot from different angles to create a three-dimensional effect. There are also photo poses near each picture. It was quite fun.

You can go up to the highest floor, which is also a platform, and see the sea.

I went back to one floor and took a photo of the News Broadcast and the commemorative ticket, "Hai Tian Yi Zhou".

I played in it for a total of one and a half hours, and I think it's worth a visit.

This is a must-go route for buses from Ningbo to Zhoushan. I looked up this bridge online before going there. The bus took 40 to 50 minutes to cross the entire bridge. It was really spectacular.

By HeXiangs |

It's very long. It would be better if the speed limit was raised to 120. I heard that the service area is cleaner...

By Maria |

This is the only way to go from Suzhou to Ningbo. There are not many roads and there are windmills for power generation.

By Every |

Standing by the window where I live, I can see the lights of the Hangzhou Bay Bridge in the distance, like a long dragon.

By why |

The colorful bridge deck is amazing. This huge project is great. I deeply admire the bridge builders.

By Radish Ouye |

The bus I took from Zhoushan back to Shanghai passed the Hangzhou Bay Bridge. It felt average, a very ordinary bridge.

The bridge is very long and flat, unlike the one in Zhoushan that is curved.

The Hangzhou Bay Bridge, spanning Hangzhou Bay in China, is a magnificent feat, the result of the collaborative efforts of thousands of designers, engineers, and construction workers. Following the Shanghai Pudong East China Sea Bridge, the Hangzhou Bay Bridge is China's second sea-crossing and river-crossing bridge built since the country's reform and opening up. It is also the gateway to travel from Ningbo to Shanghai.

The bridge is 36 kilometers long, with 35.7 kilometers of it serving as a six-lane, bidirectional expressway. It has a design speed of 100 kilometers per hour and a service life of over 100 years. This makes it 11 kilometers longer than the King Fahd Bridge connecting Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, and surpasses world-renowned bridges such as the Chesapeake Bay Bridge in the United States. It is the third-longest bridge in the world and the longest cross-sea bridge.

It shortens the distance between Ningbo and Shanghai. There is also a viewing platform on the bridge, which is nice.

The Hangzhou Bay Seacross Bridge is a sea-crossing bridge spanning the Hangzhou Bay area of China, with a total investment of 11.8 billion yuan. It starts from Zhengjiadai in Haiyan, Jiaxing City in the north, crosses the vast Hangzhou Bay area and ends at Shuiluwan in Cixi, Ningbo City. It is a convenient passage for the National Highway No. 3 to cross the Hangzhou Bay.
