Located in the Dananxi Scenic Area, the Lion Rocks are two small islands nestled in the front pond of Xi'an Village in Yantou Town. Standing on the shore, the peculiar rocks look like lions playing with a ball, hence the name Lion Rocks. This enchanting area is a natural bonsai of the Nanxi River. One of the Lion Rocks islands resembles a lion, its body clad in jagged rocks, its head held high and mouth open, facing the current. The other, shaped like a ball, is known as "Lion Ball Island." Overgrown with lush trees and grass, the river breeze sways the treetops, resembling a lion's ball rolling. During the day, the Lion Rocks' graceful silhouette, cast in the mirror-like water, exudes a majestic and charming presence, captivating countless photographers from both China and abroad. At night, under the radiant moon, bamboo rafts and cormorants catch fish, while fishing lanterns illuminate the river. The dim lights beneath the turquoise water create a surreal underwater world.

Lion Rock is very beautiful. The huge rock in the middle of Nanxi River does look like a lion half-lying there. The sun is shining, the sky is blue and the clouds are white. The river flows quietly. The reflection of Lion Rock is also very clear, and the light of the setting sun is fascinating.
The Lion Rock Scenic Area, nestled on the banks of the Nanxi River, is a free attraction. It's only a 5-kilometer drive from Yantou Town. But there's always a gap between ideal and reality. At the Nanxi River wharf, I saw a frenzy of tourist development. A shabby 212 jeep, without a muffler, belched black smoke and emitted a deafening exhaust note as it repeatedly ran ashore, stirring up waves and drawing screams from the passengers. It was a heartbreaking sight! Before I visited the Nanxi River, I imagined the emerald waters, circling egrets, huts of fishermen and woodcutters, and the lights of bamboo rafts. What a pity! Lion Rock is indeed beautiful, but the surrounding bustle diminished the experience. The afternoon weather was beautiful, sunny, blue sky, and white clouds. I was looking forward to the sunset glow. Sadly, just as the sun was about to set, a large dark cloud descended, preventing Lion Rock from basking in the sunset's glow.
Nanxi River Lion Mountain Scenic Area: Clear waters lap at verdant mountains, while Lion Peak towers proudly into the sky, lush and verdant. Hiking through the mountains, amidst gurgling springs and the chirping of birds, it's like stepping into a vivid landscape painting. From the summit, the view stretches like a ribbon, creating a picturesque pastoral scene that is truly refreshing.
Lion Rocks are two small islands in the river. They are made of rocks and covered with lush vegetation. One of the islands looks like a lion and the other looks like a ball, which means "lion playing with a ball".
Lion Rock has always belonged to Xia Richuan Village, not Xi'an Village! I hope you can change it... Thank you!
The stream water is good, the rafting time is very short, about half an hour, 55 yuan per person, you buy a ticket at the door, after getting on the bamboo raft, the boatman said you need a parasol ⛱️, give him another 20 yuan, otherwise the umbrella will be put away. He walked back not far and said you need to pay more to go further. There is a pebbled shallow in the middle and I wanted to take pictures, but he said I had to pay before he stopped. The management is simply chaotic, it's just a robbery. The town government should manage it well, otherwise it will damage the image of the beautiful Nanxi River.
I like this piece of landscape, and I come back and forth in a hurry in one day.
I'll stay two more days next time.
The Lion Rock Scenic Area is probably one of the best scenic spots in the Nangui River. The high mountains in the clouds and the cascading waterfalls make people linger.
The Nanxi River Lion Rock Scenic Area is just a few dozen meters away from us. After leaving the inn, we went down to the stream and walked along the path, which saved us the entrance fee and was quiet. Lion Rock is actually a large rock in the stream. I can't tell whether it looks like a lion, hehe.
There are local old ladies praying.
Feel good, read some travel notes, it's worth a visit
The ticket to the Dragon Waterfall Cave is 70 yuan, and the bus ticket is another 10 yuan, which is basically a free gift. The waterfall only has one pump. I think the price is a bit high.
Very bad, it's a waste of time to go there, and they will threaten you if you don't pay for parking
It is the representative of Nanxi River, and many photos were taken here.
From the Second Bridge, you can raft to the Lion Rock Scenic Area. The trip takes about an hour and costs 370 yuan per boat for 5 people.
The river surface was very calm, with only a small drop in the water where it was quite turbulent. The water was cool and clear, and the children had a lot of fun playing there.
Lion Rock is the highlight of the Nanxi River Scenic Area. When Wenzhou people talk about Nanxi River, they think of Lion Rock.
The scenery here is picturesque, and the services and recreational facilities are relatively complete. You can swim in the water, go bamboo rafting, watch the twinkling fishing lights and hear the evening singing of fishermen...
Bamboo rafting is suitable for family trips. The water depth in most places does not exceed two meters. In some places, you can wade in the water. The water is clear and you can swim in the river. If you are interested, you can help the boatman to paddle the bamboo raft. Parking fee is 10 yuan a day. It is an open scenic spot with no entrance fee. You only need to pay for the bamboo raft.
If you only have one day, I recommend rafting first, then exploring Yantou's Lishui Street and the surrounding Furong or Cangpo Ancient Villages. The rafting trip to shore is the core of the Lion Rock Scenic Area, and this section of the river is the hallmark of the Nanxi Scenic Area. Holidays are often crowded, so there are some entertainment options on the other side of the river that are closed on weekdays but open on holidays, but with a higher fee. To reach the other side, you need to take a ferry, which costs 20 yuan per person round trip.
Lion Rocks are two small islands in the front pond of Xia Richuan Village in Yantou Town. Standing on the shore and looking out at the rocks in the water, they resemble lions playing with a ball, hence the name Lion Rocks. The scenery in this area is charming, and it is a natural bonsai of the Nanxi River.
It is said that the sunset at Lion Rock is very beautiful. In the evening, we rushed to Lion Rock from Longwantan, but unfortunately the weather was not good. There was neither sunset nor sunset glow.
The fishing fires on the river bank are very pleasant to the sleepy soul.
Lie with open eyes, Lion Rock belongs to West Coast Village, misleading tourists
The locals are not kind.
1. No matter where you park, someone will ask you for parking fee.
2. There are many paid entertainment options on the other side of the river. The river is only a few centimeters deep and narrow, so you could walk across on the rocks on the side. However, a group of interest groups has put up a sign saying "Danger Water, No Passengers Allowed" and hired people to man it, discouraging those who would prefer to wade across. Instead, they use their ferry. The people of Wenzhou are dishonest.
Lion Rock, an island in the Nanxi River, resembles a bonsai. Admission is free. As one of the major scenic spots within the Nanxi River, Lion Rock seems a bit less impressive than previous ones. However, the hike along the greenway between Yantou Town and Lion Rock is surprisingly enjoyable.
Located in the Dananxi Scenic Area, the Lion Rocks are two small islands nestled in the front pond of Xiarichuan Village in Yantou Town. Standing on the shore, the unusual rocks resemble lions playing with a ball, hence the name Lion Rocks. This enchanting scenery is a natural bonsai of the Nanxi River. During the day, the Lion Rocks' graceful silhouette, shrouded in the mirror-like water, exudes a majestic and charming presence, captivating countless photographers from both China and abroad. Standing on the shore and looking at the strange rock in the water, it looks like a lion playing with a ball, so it is named Lion Rock.
The river is wide and the water is flat. I swam for a while.
The beautiful and quiet Nanxi River allows you to feel the beauty of life just by sitting by the river.
After getting ashore, Master Yao and I swam in the water for a while. The water was neither too hot nor too cold, just right. It was just too sunny, so we came out soon.
The real Lion Rock Scenic Area is located on the opposite bank. Tickets are required. You can take a bamboo raft to cross the river, but it is just a different angle to see the "big rock" in the river. So we didn't spend the money and just walked along the river. It was also nice.
I didn't go to Yantou Town, but got off at the Lion Rock Scenic Area. Fortunately, during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, the Nanxi River Scenic Area was incredibly less crowded than the popular attractions. Most importantly, the scenery was beautiful. Lion Rock may not impress you at first glance, but it is a very beautiful place. You can go bamboo rafting.
Take a bus from Yantou Village to visit here and watch them rafting and playing in the water.
It is indeed quite good to be divided into two parts by water, but it lacks some characteristics.
The Lion Rock Scenic Area is located in the Nanxi River's Nanxi Scenic Area. Two small hills in the middle of the river resemble lions playing with a ball, earning its name. This area is the middle reaches of the Nanxi River and the center of the entire scenic area, offering opportunities for rafting and swimming.
After rafting at Lion Rock, I felt unsatisfied and continued down the riverside path. The path was overgrown with weeds, and I was the only other person there. But as I reached the Lion Viewing Pavilion, a beautiful scene unfolded. The water in this area was incredibly blue, and several large rocks nestled in the rapids, topped by trees, created a natural bonsai. Wild birds like ducks and egrets were also spotted nearby. If you're ever in that area, it's worth a visit.
The scenery is average, but the bamboo rafting is okay.
The mountains and rivers are picturesque, the water is beautiful, and the Lion Rock scenic spot is free to enjoy.
I often come here to barbecue, in the woods by the river, but you have to take a boat to the other side of the river, which costs 10 yuan per person.
Tickets cost 80, what a rip-off! There's nothing much to see.
I was deeply attracted by this photo and Xiaoqian thought I would try my luck early in the morning.
The alarm clock is at 4:30 and we are ready to go out before 5:00
The door of the accommodation was not open yet.
We had to shamelessly wake up the boss to help us open the door.
Two people walked in the dark on the country road with flashlights and then walked along the road to Lion Rock.
Since we didn't make a detailed guide in advance, we could only follow our feelings and walk along the river to enjoy the sunrise.
It was already dawn on the way back
We had breakfast and went back to the room to take a nap
Came here again in the afternoon for bamboo rafting
The quiet and peacefulness of the morning contrasts with the noise of playfulness in the afternoon.
The price for four people is 220 yuan, plus an umbrella for 20 yuan, and the price for two people is 200 yuan. It is more cost-effective if there are more people.
However, it is said that there are about 100 privately contracted areas. Can you ask?
I think this bamboo rafting trip is too crowded and not quiet enough
It is recommended that you go early if you want to go
It's a holiday and there are no boats.
At 15:40, we arrived at the Lion Rock Scenic Area.
The green mountains are like dark blue, the river is like a belt, and the beach is clean.
The quiet Nanxi River is like a gentle bride, and the mountains on both sides are the groom who silently gazes at her and gently embraces her.
I went with an outdoor group at that time, slept in a tent by the river, and had a great time!
I went there in 2014. It was a great experience swimming in the river in the summer. It was very crowded and lively. There were many accommodations and restaurants along the river.
The next morning, we went to Shizi Rock. After parking, we saw a large group of people swimming in the Nanxi River. The Shizi Rock scenic area is surrounded by mountains, and the Nanxi River is so clear that I almost wanted to jump in. But just when my heart was beating, I saw a girl squatting by the river, washing a freshly killed chicken. On one side, a large group of people were playing in the river, and on the other side, someone was removing the chicken's internal organs and washing it. The scene was very asymmetrical, so I decided to move on to the next attraction.
We didn't go down to the riverside. It was said that the bamboo raft costs 190, which is not cost-effective for one person.
It takes about 30 minutes to drive from Yantou Town to the Nanxi River Shiziyan Second Bridge rafting spot, and the ticket price is 75 yuan per person.
The entire rafting trip is approximately 4 kilometers and takes 30-40 minutes. There are two options for returning to the starting point: chartering a car for 50 yuan, or taking a bamboo raft back the same way for 150 yuan per boat. We had a great chat with the raft operator, and he gave us a 100 yuan discount for the return trip. However, we had to turn back a short distance from the end point because the company doesn't allow raft operators to take private jobs.
We started rafting around 8:30 that day. It was cloudy but not sunny, so the scenery on both sides was pretty good.
The boatman said the Nanxi River's water level is relatively low at the end of May, and the rafting program will be suspended during high water periods in July and August. Around 2010, the Nanxi River flooded, and the water level exceeded the second floor of the ticket office. It was unimaginable...
We strolled along the Nanxi River. Bamboo rafts, off-road vehicles, and other recreational activities were available, and groups of young people were barbecuing on the riverbank. From the Lion-Watching Pavilion, we gazed across the river at Lion Rock, leaping, taking photos, and playing among the tumbling pebbles on the riverbank. Bamboo rafts drifted downstream in the emerald green water, and a flock of ducks frolicked in the shallows.
The Lion Viewing Pavilion is the best vantage point for viewing the Lion Rocks. These are two gigantic, unusual rocks nestled in the river. One resembles a lion, its body crammed with jagged rocks, its head held high and mouth open, facing the current. The other, named "Lion Ball Island," is shaped like a ball. Trees sway in the breeze, resembling a rolling lion ball. Despite this, we couldn't discern the details, so we had to rely on our intuition. Later, locals also commented that the Lion Rocks weren't very iconic.
To be honest, there is nothing to see in the Lion Rock scenic area. If you plan to camp or barbecue on the river beach, it is still possible. In spring and autumn, the river water is too high, and it is said that you can raft. But for a simple tour, it is also average. Especially at night, it is pitch black.
The beautiful and quiet Nanxi River allows you to feel the beauty of life just by sitting by the river.
The Nanxi River is the highlight of this trip, and Lion Rock is a great place for rafting. Unfortunately, it was the dry season this time, so we couldn’t go there, but the scenery was still quite good!
The mountains and rivers are beautiful, and the water is beautiful. There weren't that many people when I went there, but I don't know what's happened in recent years...
The environment is average. If you have seen the river beach, you should not come again.
I've always loved the feeling of mountain climbing, and there are many similar benefits around Wenzhou. Lion Rock is a good spot. It's not a particularly tiring attraction and is suitable for those who want to stretch their muscles. The scenery of Nanxi River is generally very good, and the air is good and pollution-free, so being on the mountain feels like washing our lungs.
Beautiful, very nice environment. Beautiful, very nice environment.
The free attractions are mainly rafting. It was winter when we went there, so we just looked at the river. There were camels on the beach and restaurants on the shore.
Very beautiful scenic area, food, accommodation and transportation are very convenient. Popular and beautiful scenery!
We decided to go to the Lion Rock Scenic Area on a whim because we were passing by there by car and decided to go there for fun. You can go rafting there, and it's along the Nanxi River. The air is good and the water is crystal clear.
One of the Nanxi River scenic spots, you can just look at it from the roadside. There is a big rock in the river and nothing else around.
A scenic spot in the Nanxi River is still very beautiful. You can go rafting. The water is very clean and there is no industrial pollution. It is a good place to escape the heat in the summer and have barbecue.
Yongjia's famous scenic spot is near the Nanxi River
It was more than a decade ago. I stayed overnight at Shiwei Rock. In the evening, by the quiet Nanxi River, I experienced for the first time the saying, "The river is green as blue in spring." The next day, I hiked to Shiwei Rock (carrying about ten kilograms of weight).
The core attraction of Nanxi River Scenic Area. The scenery is really good
Located in the Dananxi Scenic Area, Lion Rock is named after the unusual rock formations, which resemble a lion playing with a ball when viewed from the shore. One of the islands resembles a lion, its body covered in jagged rocks, its head held high and mouth open, facing the current. The other island resembles a ball, covered in dense trees and lush grass. The river breeze sways the treetops, resembling a rolling willow ball.
The bamboo raft rafting at Lion Rock is quite fun. We went there during the National Day holiday and the water was not cold, which was suitable for going into the water. The little ones went into the water and pulled the boat with the boatman, haha.
Zhejiang is a relatively famous 4A scenic spot.
It is the core scenic spot of Nanxi River Scenic Area, the earliest to become famous and the most famous.
It's said this is the heart of the Nanxi River, forming people's first impression of the river. During the day, the graceful silhouette of Lion Rock, shrouded in the mirror-like water, exudes a majestic and charming presence, captivating countless photographers both domestically and internationally. At night, under a bright moon, bamboo rafts and cormorants catch fish, while twinkling fishing lanterns illuminate the river. The dim lights beneath the emerald waters create a surreal underwater world. On weekdays, the ripples of the water ruffle the azure waters, making the charming lion silhouettes dizzy. During the rainy season, flashing mountain torrents upstream obliterate the creek, leaving only Lion Rock as a pillar of support, standing alone in the midst of the river.
It’s okay. It should be nice for swimming in the summer. It’s okay to go there for fun if you live nearby.
The scenery is nice, but the cost of rafting is too high. If you want to experience it, it is recommended to sign up in a group.
One of the signature attractions of Nanxi River, it has a gurgling stream and beautiful scenery. It has rafting, beach entertainment, and many other activities. It is an important tourist distribution center that integrates travel, accommodation, and entertainment!
The scenery is nice, although the journey is a bit troublesome
Lend me a place so I can have this "heart-pounding" experience.
There are bamboo rafts on the surface of Nanxi River and many roadside restaurants. Lion Rock should be viewed from a distance.
You can take a bamboo raft to get a closer look. The person holding the raft will tell you where to take the most lion-like photos and will also help you take photos enthusiastically.
The Lion Rock Scenic Area is a representative scenic spot of the Nanxi River. It is close to the road and there is a parking lot nearby. You can go swimming, rafting on the river, and even take a big balloon up into the air. The mountains and waters here are green and the land is beautiful. The locals are relatively friendly. There are also many places to buy local specialties on the roadside. It is a must-visit place for Nanxi River tourism.
Lion Rock is not a single rock, it consists of two small islands. One resembles a lion and the other a ball, hence the name "Lion Ball Island". This is known as the natural bonsai of the Nanxi River. Since we did not reach the Lion Pavilion, the angle was wrong and the effect was not good.
