The park is centered on Moon Lake, with more than 60 sculptures scattered along the lake. Themed on the four seasons of spring, summer, autumn and winter, the lakeside is divided into four different piers with different scenery.
The Chun'an is composed of a water curtain bridge, a stalactite cave, and a water stage. The restroom in the stalactite cave is very interesting, as if you have walked into a cave. Even the faucet is shaped like a stalactite.
Qiu'an is a vast lawn with buildings such as Qiuyuefang Restaurant and Yuehu Art Museum. The museum often hosts series of painting exhibitions, art exhibitions and large-scale car shows, and often displays award-winning art works from home and abroad.
There is a tourist bus in the park that visits the four banks of the park every 15 minutes. There are restaurants and cafes in the park. It is very pleasant to sit in the cafe, drink coffee and enjoy the scenery outside the window.

I'm here for the weekend, and as long as the environment is beautiful and the air is fresh, it's a good place. Another thing is, there really shouldn't be too many people.
The Moon Lake is divided into north and south. Relatively speaking, there are more things to visit on the north side than on the south side, and on the east bank than on the west bank. It just so happens that the east bank has good light in the morning, so it is natural to visit the Moon Lake in the morning and Tianyi Pavilion in the afternoon. If you visit the east bank of the Moon Lake from north to south, you will be visiting the east bank.
One of the unique features of Yuehu Lake is that there are a number of large and small museums around the lake, all of which are free.
Fangcaozhou is a small island carved out of Yuehu Lake. Passing through a moon gate, you'll find yourself in a typical Jiangnan garden. The lake is surrounded by an island, and the island is surrounded by the lake, complementing each other beautifully. Pavilions, waterside terraces, winding corridors, and winding paths make this truly more than just an ordinary park.
Like West Lake, Moon Lake is also free and unfenced, and just as clean and tidy, with gentle breezes and chirping birds, and the same fearless squirrels. Some people stroll and read, others play and laugh, and young and old speak the soft Wu dialect, but it's not at all noisy.
When I arrived in Ningbo, I decided to visit Yuehu Lake. It felt like a smaller version of West Lake, and the scenery was quite nice. Walking around the lake, I found many buildings with a quaint style, as well as many small attractions and memorial halls of famous people. Many of them are open to the public free of charge, so you just need to choose the right time. The greenery on both sides of the lake is also very good, and the overall scenery is very good.
Ningbo Yuehu Park is the heart and lungs of Ningbo's old city. The lake was dug to store water as early as the Tang Dynasty, and by the Song Dynasty, it had become a gathering place for scholars and poets to recite poetry. Even now, the air of books can be smelled beneath the willow trees by the lake. At dawn, old men carrying bird cages wander into the bamboo forest. Women practicing Tai Chi and men practicing swordsmanship undisturbed each other on the stone pavement. Dew drenches the corners of the pavilion on the island in the center of the lake. Boatmen paddle their black-sailed boats under the arched bridge, shattering the surface of the water into a shimmering expanse of gold. Walking around the lake, you'll encounter the blue brick walls of the He Mijian Temple. Stone tablets at the ruins of the Goryeo Embassy tell stories of diplomatic missions from centuries ago. With the windows of a second-floor teahouse open, you can relax for an afternoon with a pot of Longjing tea and two slices of osmanthus rice cake. A young girl in Hanfu (Chinese traditional clothing) circling the Nine-Curve Bridge, an elderly monk crouching with a DSLR camera photographing dragonflies on water lilies, a group of students constantly crowding around the tricycle of an elderly woman selling sweet cakes, a bite of sesame dumplings so hot they burn the tip of their tongues and make them jump. The autumn air wafts with the fragrance of golden osmanthus, and beneath an old camphor tree stands a chess stall. An elderly man in reading glasses fiddles with the chess pieces for ages, not making a move. A fellow across from him, wearing cloth shoes, doesn't bother to urge him, squinting as he listens to a Yue Opera fan singing the "Eighteen Farewells" from "Butterfly Lovers" by the lake. The Tianyi Pavilion Library on the west side of the lake reveals its overhanging eaves, while the glass walls of the Modern Art Museum on the east side reflect light. New and old cultures harmoniously blend on this waterfront. Rainy days are the most captivating. Raindrops dimpled the lake's surface, leaving behind countless dimples. Hiding under the porch of the Huxin Temple, I watched an old man write "Lanting Preface" on the blue brick floor with a brush dipped in water. The finished work was then washed away by the rain. The air was filled with the pungent scent of moss and the aroma of rapeseed oil from oil-burning dumplings. After dark, streetlights cast long shadows across the lake. Young people jogging at night, Jay Chou blasting through their headphones, passed by a woman carrying her erhu to a pavilion for a duet of "Jasmine Flower." Stray cats crouched beneath a Ming Dynasty stone archway, licking their paws. This area is a veritable open-air museum of Ningbo's slow-paced lifestyle.
It has the beauty of West Lake but without its noise.
The scenic spot is located in the city center of Ningbo City and is the best choice for many Ningbo citizens and tourists to take a walk and relax.
The beauty of Yuehu Lake is like a beautiful girl from the south of the Yangtze River. Although it is not graceful and elegant, it has its own unique beauty.
The lake isn't large, but it's lushly wooded, dotted with pavilions and winding paths. Though winter has arrived, the crimson leaves and flowers still create a picturesque scene. I was tempted to rush through, and I'd neglected Yuehu. This is probably the most beautiful scene of my trip to Ningbo. It's a bit like West Lake, only much smaller.
Yuehu Lake is a park in the urban area of Ningbo. It is adjacent to Tianyi Pavilion and Drum Tower. It is also a must-see attraction in Ningbo. The cultural relics and lakeside scenery are indeed worth visiting.
Shipu Hotel is right next to Yuehu Lake, so I took a few photos by the lake after dinner. In fact, Yuehu Park is quite large, and it will probably take about 2 hours to visit it all. Now the scenery of Yuehu Lake is quite unique and beautiful. It is close to Tianyi Pavilion and not far away, so if you really come here for tourism, you can visit Tianyi Pavilion and Yuehu Lake at the same time!
A quiet place in the downtown area of Ningbo, a very nice city park.
Unexpectedly a nice park, it's very pleasant to sit by the lake
It is a good place to enjoy maple leaves and ginkgo in autumn. There are not many people and the scenery is beautiful.
A small circle, the Moon Lake and the Ten Continents, are rich in cultural landscapes.
It's comparable to Ningbo's West Lake. It's divided into two main sections, north and south, separated by a road. There are also several former residences to visit, and the park's facilities are on par with those of paid tourist attractions. We arrived a little late, though, and the former residences were already closed, which was a bit disappointing.
Known as the West Lake of Ningbo, the scenery is quite good. After breakfast, I went to Tianyi Pavilion to digest the food.
This place is said to be the locals' backyard. From time to time, you can see elderly people walking their dogs, parents taking artistic photos of their children, and a few friends strolling here. It is cozy and comfortable. The small bridges, flowing water, and people's houses are all Jiangnan scenes.
Yuehu Lake is very similar to Shichahai Lake in Beijing, but it is much quieter than Shichahai Lake. Walking along the lake, you will see a different scene at every step.
There are many former residences of ancient celebrities in the park, which now become places for local people to exercise.
The air is good, there are not many people, and it is a quiet place in the bustling city.
Suitable for quiet daze... In short, it is suitable for
It is not suitable for trampling on the lawn!!!
Yuehu Park is very big and it is connected to Tianyi Pavilion, so I went there on the way.
The park is free and packed with visitors. Its pavilions and towers exude a Jiangnan charm. We walked from Tianyi Square and suddenly stumbled into the charming Jiangnan region from the modern city. Ningbo locals love coming here to enjoy playing chess and dancing.
Next to Tianyi Pavilion is Yuehu Park, a crescent-shaped lake. It is now a leisure park for Ningbo people. You can take a walk here after visiting Tianyi Pavilion Restaurant. Yuehu Lake is very quiet. Beside the busy streets, it enjoys a unique tranquility with willow banks and shaded trees.
Yuehu Lake has always been a major scenic spot in Ningbo City. The water here is clear and the vegetation is beautiful. Many celebrities and scholars in history have lingered here and left many historical relics in the Yuehu area. In addition to the world-famous Tianyi Pavilion, there are also Guandi Temple, He Mijian Temple and several official residences.
Today, Yuehu Lake is a park. The Ningbo Municipal Government has renovated and maintained Yuehu Park in the past two years, and it is very well managed. During the third and fourth lunar months, when spring is in full bloom, it is the best time to visit.
If you come here to visit, it is recommended to arrange a visit with the nearby Tianyi Pavilion Museum on the same day. At noon, you can consider having lunch at the Shipu Hotel between the two, so that you can taste local delicacies and take a break.
It was my first time to visit Yuehu Park, and with the perfect weather, it was a perfect trip!
Behind Ningbo Railway Station lies a large park in the heart of Ningbo, with famous attractions like Tianyi Pavilion nestled around it. As I entered the courtyard, I encountered an old man playing his favorite flute piece, "A Journey to Suzhou." It was a delight. It's not a particularly stunning garden, but nestled in the heart of Ningbo, it offers a tranquil escape.
It is a short walk from the south gate of Tianyi Pavilion to the destination.
There is only a cruise ship pier on the west side of the lake, and there are more ancient houses on the north and east sides, including Yintai Mansion, Jiang's House, Goryeo Embassy, Yuan's House, Guandi Temple, etc.
Unfortunately, many houses are just names, and have been converted into other exhibition halls. Jiang's house is the home of the Ningbo Painting and Calligraphy Academy, and there is no sign at the door, which makes it feel like it is secretly hidden inside. Maybe there are too many old houses in Ningbo, so it doesn't matter.
The buildings are well-preserved and have an ancient charm. From the City God Temple, you can take a leisurely walk to Moon Lake, which is actually quite large, divided into two sides, north and south, each with different views. In addition to the pavilion, there is a large lawn on the south side.
Moon Lake is located near Tianyi Pavilion. Several historic buildings, including free admission, form the Moon Lake-Tianyi Pavilion Tourist Area. While small in scale, the tranquil scenery is truly relaxing. There's also a museum dedicated to Ningbo merchant culture.
Yuehu Park, also known as Ningbo's West Lake, was built during the Tang Dynasty and boasts breathtaking scenery. The area is vast, with excellent facilities, and it takes about half a day to fully explore. Best of all, the park is free. Adjacent to it is Tianyi Pavilion, which is worth a visit along the way. Tickets are 30 yuan.
It was raining when I went there, the weather was not good, but there were few people and I could walk around.
Located in downtown Ningbo, Yuehu Lake was excavated during the Zhenguan reign of the Tang Dynasty and completed during the Yuanyou reign of the Song Dynasty. Its name stems from its shape, resembling a full moon at its widest point and a crescent at its narrowest. It is a public park in Ningbo and is open to the public free of charge. Yuehu Lake is to Ningbo what West Lake is to Hangzhou, and for many Ningbo residents, it is the West Lake of Ningbo. The lake itself is vast, with many old houses converted into museums and small gardens. Boat trips are available at the cruise center, offering beautiful views and a great place for a leisurely stroll.
Yuehu Park is quite big. It's a bit tiring to walk. The scenery is pretty good. It's suitable for walking. There are many elderly people.
It was excavated during the Zhenguan period of the Tang Dynasty (636 AD) and the Ten Islands of Yuehu Lake were completed during the Yuanyou period of the Song Dynasty.
During the Shaoxing period of the Southern Song Dynasty, pavilions and towers were built and flowers and trees of all seasons were planted, forming the beautiful scenery of the Ten Continents on the Moon Lake.
Connected to Tianyi Pavilion~~Free big park~~The environment is good and suitable for walking~~
The water is shimmering and beautiful when the weather is fine, while the mountains are misty and strange when it rains. This Moon Lake feels a bit like a small West Lake.
It was better than I expected. Following the map, it still took half a day to circle Moon Lake. The scenery around Fangcaozhou on the north side of Moon Lake is quite nice. The only drawback is that the elderly people playing music there are too loud! It completely ruins the beauty. Walking from north to south, past Liuting Street, you'll find the beautiful ginkgo trees at the Academician Forest. I walked along the eastern side of the lake from north to south; the western side is closer to the road, so I skipped that part. At the southernmost end of the lake, you'll reach the train station.
Yuehu Scenic Area is a large, free park in the heart of Ningbo. It fully reflects the generosity of Ningbo people. Today, I'd like to share with you the past of Yuehu...
Located in the heart of Ningbo's urban area, this scenic spot is surrounded by the famous Tianyi Pavilion, various old residences, and unexpected discoveries. The artist Wu Guanzhong's masterpiece "Double Swallows" was inspired by this location.
Located to the north of Ningbo Station, this is a long and narrow, large urban open park. There are many museums and small gardens built in old houses, and the scenery is pretty good.
Yuehu Park is unexpectedly large. It is very close to Ningbo Railway Station and can be reached on foot. The houses inside have been converted into various museums. It is worth visiting except on Mondays. The environment is still very quiet!
Parking is metered and convenient along the roadside. The park is open to the public, so no tickets are required; simply register and enter. The buildings are well-preserved and have a classic charm. The environment is quiet and perfect for a relaxing getaway. We visited attractions like Yintaidi, which not only boasts well-preserved architecture but also meticulously protected cultural heritage. We arrived in the afternoon, so time was limited. I wasn't expecting so many attractions within Yuehu Park, so I left with some regret. I'll definitely visit again next time I'm in Ningbo.
It's a leisure park, right in the city center, so you can just stop by and take a look. It's similar to parks in every city.
The most beautiful city parks are those that don’t require tickets. I recommend them.
In the city of Ningbo, the lake is not very big and the scenery is average.
It's right next to the North Square of the train station. The park is huge, with a road in the middle and nice scenery.
It's just a park in the city, you can walk around there, there's nothing special about it.
I stumbled upon this by accident, and it definitely exceeded my expectations. It's beautiful, and it has a real local feel, with a touch of the grandeur of Jiangnan gardens. It's a blessing to find a park like this in the city.
In 2006, I went to Ningbo by chance. The environment was very good.
Yuehu Lake is located in the southwest of Ningbo city. It was dug during the Zhenguan period of the Tang Dynasty. It is a famous scenic spot in Ningbo city. The lake is long and narrow with an area of about 0.2 square kilometers.
The leisure park for citizens, we walked to the north part, the style of Jiangnan garden
There was drizzle and a gentle breeze.
A small bridge, flowing water, and the faint fragrance of books.
I think of the ancient scholars and poets who loved to gather here to discuss the past and the present. Today, on the shore of Yuehu Lake, there is also a middle school in Ningbo.
As I passed by, I heard the school bell ring. Looking eastward from the vast lake, I saw the national flag in front of the school gate, and suddenly felt the change of times and the vicissitudes of the world.
There are several old houses on the banks of Yuehu Lake, which seem to have been relocated from various places in Ningbo. Some of them have been opened as museums, but there is little information about them.
It's close to the train station, Chenghuang Temple and Drum Tower, so you can take a stroll before going to the train station.
It is a quiet place in the midst of noise and is a good place to daydream.
I prefer Yuehu Park, it is very quiet and suitable.
The scenery inside is very good, and the plants are very lush. I also rowed a boat inside.
It's best to go there during leisure time, as the playing time is not long. It's suitable for Saturdays and Sundays.
As a free park, it's quite good. Clean, quiet and beautiful!
In Yuehu Park, you can lie on a stone bench and close your eyes to rest, sit on a pavilion to enjoy the view, or stroll along the willow bank and chat. It is extremely comfortable.
This is a park visited by locals, you don't have to come specially. There is a Haishu District Art Gallery and a small tea museum that are not open. The most impressive thing is that I didn't see any garbage on the ground during the one-hour visit. It is clean and exquisite, which is simply impossible in Jiaxing's free parks...ps. Ningbo No. 2 Middle School across the lake is simply beautiful.
Ningbo was called "Mingzhou" in ancient times.
In addition to being named after Siming Mountain, the city is also named after the Sun Lake and Moon Lake.
Today, Sun Lake is no longer there, only Moon Lake remains.
However, Yuehu Lake basically appeared before me as a street park. Ningbo No. 2 Middle School is located in it, and some ancient monuments and alleys have been preserved, adding a lot of characteristics to this place.
A must-go place for Ningbo people to relax during holidays in the city
Just opposite Tianyi Pavilion, it is a sports and leisure place with beautiful views in the city center.
It turns out that in the eyes of Ningbo people, this is their West Lake. The scenery is pretty good. I felt much happier after watching it. I found an old couple in Yuehu Lake✌✌
This place is pretty good, bustling with people and lots of food.
There is nothing special about Yuehu Park. There are many places with boating and pavilions. The environment is still good. There are many elderly people dancing and doing activities. It is very exciting.
The weather had just warmed up. After getting off the train, I planned to walk to Tianyi Pavilion, taking in the sights along the way. Instead, I came across the lake, pavilions, and the Xu family's former residence. It was a beautiful place to wander around. There's also a tea culture museum and other attractions. Registration is all you need. It was mostly visited by locals. It was warm today, and the scenery was beautiful.
As a water park within the city, it is quite good. There are some famous people's residences around it, including the former residence of Jiang Jieqing. The Buddhist Association on Liuting Street, which runs through the lake, also adds a cultural landscape to the city.
It's divided into two lakes, north and south. Due to time constraints, I only visited the half near the Drum Tower. The weather wasn't very good that day; it was gloomy and it started to rain halfway through my walk. Most of the people in Yuehu were elderly, sitting around a stone table playing chess or chatting. Some were holding their grandchildren, and there were only one or two young people here. The architecture of Yuehu has a bit of a garden feel, with various pavilions on Hongqiao, making it a great place to stroll.
It's a very ordinary park. I came in January. If you have time, you can go. I don't recommend it.
It's best to go boating from Tianyi Pavilion. Moon Lake is really beautiful, with lotus and willow trees.
Moon Lake Park
Moon Lake Park is just a 10-minute walk from the Drum Tower. It was originally a stop on my itinerary, but after reading the reviews, I decided not to go. Since I was passing by, I decided to pop in for a quick stroll, which only solidified my fondness for it. If you ask me why, I can't explain. Among all the similar parks, I just find it "beautiful." Perhaps it has something to do with my mood at the time. Moon Lake Park on a rainy day has a unique charm.
Yuehu Lake also boasts a rich history, though without the grandeur of the surrounding scenery, covering just 0.2 square kilometers. Small museums dot the lakeside, and there's also the obligatory paid boating. It feels similar to Yiyuan Garden in Yixing, though certainly lacking the expansiveness of Jiubin (next to the three-pointed waterside).
An open park with good greenery and few people, suitable for a walk in the early morning or evening
When I came to Ningbo and met up with my classmates from kindergarten to high school, my first impression was that the city of Ningbo is very clean, leisurely and comfortable!
Yuehu Park is a major park in downtown Ningbo, located between Tianyi Pavilion and Drum Tower. It's primarily used by local residents. Since it's not a major tourist attraction, it doesn't see many visitors. However, if you're looking to experience the life of Ningbo locals, this is a great place to visit.
It's called a park, but there's no fence. And there are people swimming there?!
The lake is sparkling under the setting sun, which is very beautiful.
Ningbo Yuehu Park boasts numerous attractions. In recent years, with the expansion of Liuting Street, the Ningbo municipal government and private sector have invested heavily in the renovation of the He Mijian Shrine, the Buddhist Lay Buddhist Association, the Guandi Temple Market, and the Chaoran Pavilion, giving these historic sites a fresh look and attracting widespread attention.
Excavated during the Zhenguan reign of the Tang Dynasty (636 AD), the Ten Islets of Yuehu Lake were constructed during the Yuanyou reign of the Song Dynasty. During the Shaoxing reign of the Southern Song Dynasty, pavilions and towers were extensively built, and seasonal flowers and trees were planted throughout, creating the stunning Ten Islets of Yuehu Lake. These are: Bamboo Island, Moon Island, and Chrysanthemum Island in the east; Flower Island, Bamboo Island, Willow Shore, and Fragrant Grass Island in the center; and Smoke Island, Snow Shore, and Hibiscus Island in the west. Furthermore, three embankments and seven bridges complement each other beautifully. Since the Song and Yuan Dynasties, Yuehu Lake has been a center of scholarship in eastern Zhejiang, a gathering place for scholars and writers. The great Tang Dynasty poet He Zhizhang, the renowned Northern Song Dynasty official Wang Anshi, the Southern Song Dynasty prime minister Shi Hao, the renowned Song Dynasty scholar Yang Jian, and the late Ming and early Qing Dynasty historian Wan Sitong—all these luminaries, whether in seclusion, teaching, serving as officials, or writing, have left indelible marks on Yuehu Lake.
