Sanzhe Waterfall Resort

As the name suggests, Sanzhe Waterfall has three sections, but most tourists only visit the Lower Fold Waterfall and exit the Middle Fold Waterfall, which takes no more than an hour. During the flood season, the Middle Fold Waterfall is still very spectacular, earning it the reputation of "the most scenic spot in Yanshan."

Strangely enough, the scenery printed on each scenic spot's ticket at Yandang Mountain isn't their own, but rather that of other scenic areas. For example, the "Sanzhe Waterfall" ticket is printed with "Dalongqiu" waterfall, which is incredibly confusing.

Why is Upper Folding Waterfall rarely visited? Honestly, it's not that Upper Folding Waterfall isn't worth seeing, but rather that the distance and the steep mountain path are too long. The 1.2-kilometer, winding mountain path from Middle Folding Waterfall to Upper Folding Waterfall took me 40 minutes to reach, making it quite challenging. Furthermore, if the water level isn't high, Upper Folding Waterfall isn't much to see, though the distance is quite steep. Therefore, I think just seeing the lower two waterfalls of Three Folding Waterfalls would take less than an hour, while seeing Upper Folding Waterfall would probably take 2.5 hours. The key issue is the long and difficult mountain path to Upper Folding Waterfall.

You can go and see the Middle Fold Waterfall. The Upper and Lower Fold Waterfalls are a bit unremarkable. The Middle Fold Waterfall is like a big pit that is half-cut, and then the stream flows down from the sky, which is quite artistic.

Wenzhou's Three-Fold Waterfall Scenic Area: Cascading down three tiers, shrouded in mist, you'll witness the wonders of nature. Each fold of the waterfall unfolds a different, more magnificent poem as you step, leaving visitors breathless and yearning.

I went to Yandang Mountain five years ago in 2014. At that time, you could enter the Sanzhe Waterfall Scenic Area by going up the stairs on the right side of Figure 5 from the Jingming Valley Scenic Area without buying a ticket.

The best waterfall in Yandang Mountain is the one that looks better when it rains heavily.

You can enter from the gate of Sanzhe Waterfall Scenic Area or from the Jingming Valley Scenic Area. During the flood season, the Zhongzhe Waterfall is quite nice to see, very spectacular, but you have to climb a mountain, which is still a bit high.

I advise everyone not to go to the Sanzhe Waterfall if possible. The lower waterfall, middle waterfall and upper waterfall are simply embarrassing and not as big as the Longtou Waterfall.

The journey to Sanzhe Waterfall is quite long, and there is more than 4 kilometers of climbing.

Sanzhe Waterfall is a unique scenic spot in Yandang Mountain. There are three waterfalls from top to bottom. The upper and middle fold waterfalls are the most interesting.

The waterfall is three-fold and it is better to see it in summer.

I just went today, and it was still incredibly crowded on the second day of National Day. Overall, exploring this scenic area is a real challenge. Why? The Lower Fold Waterfall is closest to the entrance, just a few hundred meters away. Unless it's raining, the water level is minimal. The Middle Fold Waterfall is a thousand meters away, requiring a climb up some stairs. The path is decent, but the water level is highest, and considering the distance to the Upper Fold Waterfall, many visitors return at this point. The Upper Fold Waterfall is four kilometers away, and the path is essentially small steps of gravel with no handrails. Be careful not to slip and fall when ascending or descending. Generally, if you're bringing elderly people, avoid this activity. The climb up and down will leave you with shaky legs and knee and ankle injuries. The commanding views of the mountains from the Middle and Upper Fold Waterfalls are truly breathtaking, and the cool mountain breeze adds a special sense of accomplishment to reaching the summit.

Among the many scenic spots in Yandang Mountain, this one is quite unique and was discovered relatively late.

The Zhongzhe Waterfall is still worth seeing, but the steps are high and it feels like climbing a mountain.

As the name suggests, it's a stream of water that cascades down in three sections. Not far from the entrance to the scenic area is the Lower Fold Waterfall, a mere 50 meters high and shallow. Due to the lack of rain in Yandang Mountain this year, the Lower Fold Waterfall's flow is quite small. Continuing the climb, we reach the Middle Fold Waterfall. The Middle Fold Waterfall has a drop of 120 meters. Its remarkable feature is that the central bank resembles a half-opened tube, with the waterfall cascading down through it, cascading like smoke and mist – a truly breathtaking sight! Unfortunately, the weather wasn't favorable. The previous rainfall was lighter than usual, so the waterfall wasn't large. But imagine how majestic, thunderous, and magnificent it will become after a heavy downpour! The Upper Fold Waterfall is quite a distance (3,300 meters from the Middle Fold Waterfall), and the path is steep and slippery. It's said to be perched atop a cliff. Due to physical limitations and the constant flow of the water, we had no choice but to turn back.

The 3,300-meter walk from the middle waterfall to the upper waterfall takes about an hour, intermittently. The path ahead is quite difficult, so don't bring children; it's quite dangerous. There are no restrooms upstairs, so you'll need to use the restroom downstairs before coming back up. Remember to bring water.

Xiazhe Waterfall is located not far from the entrance of the scenic area. You can see a thin waterfall slowly falling from the sky, looking weak. Waterfalls with small water flow always lack momentum, but the three words "Xiazhe Waterfall" are vigorous and powerful. They were written in the 24th year of the Republic of China.

The Shangzhe Waterfall is actually a cave, several dozen meters high. A waterfall cascades down from the top of the cave, splashing into the pool. The rising mist is so powerful that it sounds like pearls falling on a jade plate. The pool seems to be filled with boiling water. This is not a wall-mounted waterfall, but faces the sky on all sides, like a beam of white light shooting directly into the pool. The ding-dong sound of the waterfall is like melodious music, which makes us reluctant to leave for a long time.

About 100 meters to the right of the halfway point on the downhill trail, you'll find the Middle Fold Waterfall. Similar to the Upper Fold Waterfall, it boasts a more impressive waterfall and a deeper pool. White water droplets float on the emerald green water, while mist drifts among them, creating a fairyland-like scene. Known as the mountain's most scenic spot, it's a must-see.

There wasn't much water when I went there, so it didn't feel like a waterfall.

Sanzhe Waterfall is different from Lingyan, Lingfeng and Dalongqiu. It is a real mountain climb. There are no commercial stalls and no cable cars. The mountain is high and the road is long to get to Sanzhe Waterfall, so you need to have enough time and physical strength.

The road is not easy to walk on and some places are dangerous, but this is the fun of climbing.

It takes some strength to reach the Upper Fold Waterfall, but it is easier to walk below the Middle Fold Waterfall

It hasn't rained much in the local area recently, so there is very little water. Therefore, Sanzhe Spring is really not interesting at this time. We only went to the lower and middle folds, and did not go to the upper fold. The upper fold is too far, and many people turned back halfway. The water in the middle fold is relatively large.

I climbed all the way to the upper waterfall, but there was no one else there. I walked around the top of the mountain for over an hour, but still no one was around. The road didn't look like it was often used by people. Just when I was wondering if I had taken the wrong path, I saw the Jingming Valley ticket booth. Actually, if you enter from Jingming Valley first and then take this road, you can go directly to Sanzhe Waterfall for free, haha, but the other way around doesn't work. There is another way from Fangdong to Lingyan, which allows you to avoid the Lingyan ticket, but the other way around doesn't work either. Don't get the order wrong, haha.

A very small waterfall, nothing impressive

It's a very small attraction, the ticket is 20 yuan, and after walking through the upper, middle and lower three-fold waterfalls, you can return the same way. Don't go any further inside, as that's the path the villagers use to collect herbs. It takes two hours to walk past the Jingming Valley Scenic Area, but you have to buy a ticket to go there, otherwise you have to walk another two hours back the same way.

The scenery is nice. When we went there it was the dry season and the water volume was not large.

The Sanzhe Waterfall is divided into three sections: upper, middle, and lower. We went to the middle and lower sections, but it wasn't as nice as we'd imagined. I don't know if it was due to the weather, but the waterfall wasn't very big. There's a large pool at the middle section of the waterfall, and it was quite pleasant to sit on a chair next to it and watch the water flow.

The Sanzhe Waterfalls are practically dry in the winter, which was a bit disappointing. The Middle Fold Waterfall is right at the entrance, and the Lower Fold Waterfall isn't far to walk either. The Upper Fold Waterfall is a bit more arduous to reach, but it's connected to Jingming Valley, so you can walk there. There's a staff member midway between the two scenic areas asking for additional tickets.

The Three Fold Waterfalls are three scenic spots within the scenic area, namely the Upper Fold Waterfall, the Middle Fold Waterfall, and the Lower Fold Waterfall. When purchasing tickets, I followed the staff's advice. The Lower Fold Waterfall is closest, the Middle Fold Waterfall is the most worth seeing, and the Upper Fold Waterfall can be visited depending on time.

The Lower Fold Waterfall was indeed very close, less than a 10-minute walk away. However, if the road hadn't ended, I wouldn't have known I had reached my destination. The so-called waterfall was no better than the flowing water in the mountain stream at that time, and there was almost no trace of it. I had no intention of staying at the Lower Fold Waterfall, so I turned back to the Middle Fold Waterfall.

After climbing up for about 10 minutes, we arrived at the Middle Fold Waterfall. However, the water volume was still very limited, so it was hard to imagine what a waterfall looked like. Comparing the Lower and Middle Fold Waterfalls, the latter was superior, at least with a man-made circular pool to enjoy. The Upper Fold Waterfall, which requires further climbing, was out of the question.

As the rainy season approaches, the water volume remains low. I don't have high hopes for the Sanzhe Waterfall, but I'm worried about the same for the Dalongqiu Waterfall.

The Lower Fold Waterfall is located not far from the entrance to the scenic area and is the smallest of the three. The Middle Fold Waterfall is also not far away, but is much larger. The view from the inner edge of the pool is stunning! This section of the trail is relatively easy to walk. However, the Upper Fold Waterfall is quite far away, and some of the steps are damaged, so be careful when it rains and the path is slippery. While the waterfalls are similar in size to the Middle Fold Waterfall, the scenery along the way is fantastic – after all, the higher you stand, the farther you can see!

Let's talk about the Sanzhe Waterfall. The entrance fee is 20 yuan, but we naturally waived it. Those who visit Yandang Mountain and reach the Upper Fold Waterfall are truly exceptional! While the water level at the Three Fold Waterfalls isn't large, I particularly enjoyed the Middle Fold Waterfall. Perhaps it was because I was tired...

I personally think there is nothing to see at Sanzhe Waterfall, but the ticket is not expensive.

This is a place you really shouldn't go to. There were no people, no beautiful views, and only a very rugged mountain road. One of my friends was too scared to even go up. Is it really okay for this scenic spot to charge us a fee? Although the price was very cheap, the mountain road had no protection at all. It was really difficult to walk with many twists and turns. The middle waterfall was relatively easy to walk to, but getting to the upper waterfall was really challenging, especially because there were no guardrails. I personally felt it was very dangerous.



I don't recommend it to people who don't have good physical strength and are afraid of taking risks.

In my eyes it is not a scenic spot, but just a quiet mountain.

There is actually an entrance fee. It is just like the Dalongqiu with a thin waterfall, a pool and stone carvings. It is a bit far to walk from the middle fold waterfall to the upper fold waterfall. Don't go to the upper fold waterfall.

The scenery of Sanzhe Waterfall is average, the middle fold waterfall is OK, the upper fold waterfall is second, and the worst is the lower fold waterfall. However, if you just want to climb the mountain and walk around in the mountains, this place is good. It is cheap and you can walk for a long time. You can also go to Jingming Valley Scenic Area.

The three waterfalls are called Sanzhe Waterfalls.

The Sanzhe Waterfall Scenic Area winds its way up to see the Upper, Middle, and Lower Fold Waterfalls. Locals call these waterfalls "dragon's tears." The best time to view them is during the Qingming Festival when it rains.

This is the characteristic of Yandang Mountain, but few people can climb to the highest level of the Three-Layer Waterfall. Generally, climbing to the middle level is very tiring.

A very famous scenic spot in southern Zhejiang, it is very popular, has beautiful scenery and is worth seeing.

The Sanzhe Waterfall cascades over three cliffs, forming three waterfalls, the upper, middle, and lower, with the middle one being the largest. It is a secluded spot well worth a visit.

It is best to visit the Sanzhe Waterfall on a sunny day after rain. If it hasn't rained for a few days, there is no point in not seeing the waterfall.

The Upper and Middle Folds offer similar scenery, but also some differences. Those with more stamina should definitely visit, as they offer a unique experience. Sitting in the Upper Fold is incredibly comfortable and refreshing, and listening to the echoing waters is pure and clean. This proves the saying: What goes around comes around.

It's a pretty good scenic spot. There are not too many surprises but it's not too bad either. You have enough time to go shopping!

Located between the "Two Spirits," the scenic area is a must-see for visitors. Its picturesque scenery boasts unique peaks and ridges, deep pits and treacherous valleys, cascading waterfalls, and bizarre caves. The secluded and mysterious Sanzhe Waterfall, the majestic Tiecheng Peak, and the magnificent Martyrs' Cemetery are truly the "Three Wonders" of this area.

Compared to the previous Big and Small Dragon Falls, the water flow is much smaller. But standing below, you can still feel the joy of water droplets falling on a jade plate.

There are very few tourists at the Three Fold Waterfall, which is a relatively steep stone staircase. There are three main scenic spots: Upper Fold Waterfall, Middle Fold Waterfall, and Lower Fold Waterfall.

You must be in good physical condition to go to Sanzhe Waterfall, otherwise it will be very painful to go down the mountain. This is a very natural attraction. There is no artificial bridge, no modern cable car, only random stone stairs.

There are many waterfalls in Yandang Mountain, but the Sanzhe Waterfall is the most magical, and there is also a volcanic crater hidden in the Sanzhe Waterfall.

There was not enough rain when I went there, so the waterfall was relatively small, but it was still worth a visit.

The scenery is slightly inferior to Yuedalongqiu Waterfall, but it is still worth seeing.

Great waterfall, not too big but very delicate.

My father, my son, and I climbed up to the Middle Fold Waterfall together, and it was a truly remarkable sight. A stream flows down the cliff, and the constant flow of water has formed a shallow pool beneath.

The picture is wrong. It's a very disappointing attraction. It is recommended to climb from the Forest Park.

The waterfall is not high and has three tiers. Combined with the surrounding scenic spots, it is still very distinctive.

Coming over the mountain from Jingming Valley, the first thing you see is the Shangzhe Waterfall. It is really ethereal, with birds circling in the air and the waterfall pouring into the pool from the top of the urn-shaped cave, splashing clear water. The water moves with you as it falls. It is truly a different world.

Yandang Mountain, a scenic spot in the southeast, boasts some of the most breathtaking beauty in the world. I visited the mountain back in the late 1980s, while attending university in Wenzhou. Twenty years later, revisiting the site at a class reunion was filled with emotion. The beauty remains the same, yet the youthful classmates of yesteryear are now gray-haired.

Because this place is divided by three layers of water, some stairs are staggered and seem to be scattered here.

After leaving Lingyan, we continued to visit Sanzhe Waterfall in the afternoon. The whole journey was really disappointing, as we could not reach the end. After going through so much hardship, we finally reached the top of the mountain, where the clouds and mist were lingering, like a fairyland.

If you go there during the rainy season, there is not much water in the waterfall and it has no momentum at all.

It was quite quiet. There were only two of us climbing all the way and we didn’t see many people. Everything was green and the Three-Fold Waterfall was quite unique.

I have been to Yandang Mountain many times, but only to this scenic spot once. The scenery is okay, but the upper fold waterfall is a bit demanding.

It took us a whole afternoon to finish the climb, which wasn't worth it (compared to the Sandie Springs at Lushan). But there were very few tourists, and it felt great to be the only one on the mountain when we got to the top!

The Sanzhe Waterfall Scenic Area is very close to Xianglingtou Village, only about 15 minutes' walk away. It is quite tiring to walk to the waterfall on the walking path.
