Yandangshan - Xiaolongqiu

After visiting Lingyan Ancient Temple, we began our ascent along the plank path next to the temple. A glass plank bridge, partly punctuated by sound effects, occasionally displays images of shattering glass accompanied by sounds. This creative touch might frighten the faint-hearted, but it's quite inventive. The trickling stream to the lower left of the bridge is Xiaolongqiu. Xiaolongqiu originates from an underground river in the mountains, converges into a pool, and then slowly flows down. This marks the end of the scenic area. On the way down, follow the signs for another path that leads directly to the bottom of Xiaolongqiu, where you can gaze up, listen to the waves, and enjoy the panoramic view.

We came at the wrong time. It was the dry season in Xiaolongqiu. The legendary majestic waterfall that cascaded down from the sky was reduced to a thin line. It was weak and powerless. There was no momentum or shock. Only the shape of the mountain remained. There was nothing we could do.

When we went there, the water volume of the waterfall in the mountains was not abundant, but for me who hadn't seen natural scenery for a long time, it felt pretty good; it was just that a company was organizing a team-building event, and a group of young people ignored the warning signs and went into places where they were not allowed to enter to play. I really worry about their company!

Xiaolongqiu in Yandangshan National Forest Park: A serene, emerald water descends from the heavens, dancing gracefully across the cliffs. The waters are as clear as a mirror, reflecting the surrounding peaks. Strolling through them feels like walking through a secluded ink painting, a truly refreshing experience.

There was basically no water in Lingyan when I went there.

Xiaolongqiu is located in Lingyan Scenic Area. It takes about 30 minutes to walk in. It is not as impressive as Dalongqiu, but the difference in height is still quite large.

Although the water level is a little smaller than that of "Dalongqiu", it has an additional "Wolong Valley" attraction, which is still quite interesting. The gimmick of a film crew filming adds a lot of luster to the attraction.

As we walked up the scenic area, the road split. One side led to Xiaolongqiu. It was actually nothing special, just a small waterfall, but for a three-fold waterfall, it was acceptable.

Also known as the Little Waterfall, it is located at the foot of Yinlongzhang, behind the right side of Lingyan Temple, and is one of the main scenic spots of Lingyan. Surrounded by cliffs, the rock belly is the color of coral and agate.

Xiaolongqiu is a waterfall in the Lingyan Scenic Area of Yandang Mountain. It is especially good to see it on rainy days. The waterfall is very spectacular.

Xiaolongqiu is inside Lingyan Scenic Area. It is quite beautiful. The waterfall is actually not much different. The main thing here is to feel the artistic conception. The characteristic of this place is that it is above the Broken Heart Cliff, the filming location of The Return of the Condor Heroes. You can feel that the place where Xiaolongnu jumped off the cliff is quite beautiful. There is also a pavilion with a nice view. Going further up, there is a glass plank road. The glass is already blurred and you can't see clearly below.

The drop is over 50 meters, surrounded by cliffs, the rock belly tinged with coral and agate. The waterfall cascades over the cliffs, hitting the rocks and soaring into the air like a swirling mist; the water swirls and splashes, creating a myriad of shapes. It's no wonder that ancient people exclaimed, "I can't see enough, so I lean on the railing and let out a long sigh!" The water flows out from between the rocks, merging with Wolong Creek, which then meanders southward into Biyu Creek. The stream is home to an unusual, charming little creature with a black back and a red belly, the spider salamander. On the hill to the left of Xiaolongqiu, monkeys holding fairy peaches and ducks playing in Wolong Creek are both worth seeing. Furthermore, the large rectangular stone in front of the pool resembles an inkstone, and next to it, a small, flat, rectangular stone slab resembles a piece of pine soot ink.

Big and Small Dragon Springs are must-see attractions for every tourist coming to Yandang, and they feel pretty good.

In Lingyan Scenic Area, you can reach it by walking on the glass plank road after going up the mountain. It is a very quiet scenery with a winding path until the end. The waterfall is not very charming, but it seems to have an atmosphere of retreat to the countryside.

Located in Lingyan Scenic Area, there are two roads, one climbing up the mountain to see the source of Xiaolongqiu, and the other walking flat to the destination of Xiaolongqiu.

We chose the former, as the mountain road was easier to walk on.

The source of the waterfall is also a pool of water, which is quite clear. It is said to be the filming location of the Unrequited Valley in "The Return of the Condor Heroes".

Although it is small, the green water is very beautiful...

Dalongqiu and Xiaolongqiu are two representative scenic spots in Yandang Mountain Scenic Area.

My favorite Yandang scenic spot, there is also the filming location of Zhang Jizhong's version of The Return of the Condor Heroes, and the stone tablet that says "See you again after 16 years" is there. It is definitely worth a visit.

In Lingyan Scenic Area, I went there on New Year's Day. The water was not very big and there were many people. I felt that I was just here to take a look.

In Lingyan Scenic Area, walk up the glass plank road halfway up the mountain to see the source of Xiaolongqiu. There's no need to go to Xiaolongqiu after visiting Dalongqiu.

Compared with Dalongqiu, I prefer the scenery of Xiaolongqiu. There are glass plank roads and cliff-side plank roads going up from Xiaolongqiu, which are quite thrilling.

Xiaolongqiu is the most beautiful scenic spot in the entire Yandang Mountain. The Dalongqiu scenic area is too small, and Lingfeng can only see boring night views. Xiaolongqiu has more and better views.

Yandang Mountain is a famous scenic spot, suitable for weekend leisure travel. It has typical Jiangsu and Zhejiang landscapes. It is not so stunning, but the natural scenery makes people feel comfortable.

After watching the Lingyan Ferry, I walked back to Lingyan Temple and took a leisurely walk along the narrow path behind the temple, enjoying the coolness of the summer. After a while, I saw a waterfall falling from the cliff. It was Xiaolongqiu, but the water volume was relatively small. I took a photo and went back.

We saw the small waterfall cascading down and heard the deafening screams. Looking up, we realized they were the tourists on the glass plank road, each taking a beautiful photo.

I went there at a bad time, there was road construction on the top, the waterfall was not very big, and the overall feeling was just average.

The big dragon pool is not very good, so the small dragon pool is naturally not very good either~~

Xiaolongqiu is a scenic spot within Lingyan Scenic Area and is said to be the filming location for Zhang Jizhong's version of The Return of the Condor Heroes. While the drop isn't as dramatic as that of Dalongqiu, the water volume is greater and you can get closer, so the experience is even more intense!

Why is it rated as worth visiting? Because we walked down a mountain road with no tourists, which we later found out was a closed mountain road. It was not a regular stone staircase, but a completely undeveloped mountain road. We were very surprised, but also a little scared. Because there was no signal on the mountain at that time, and it was almost evening, I had a lot of thoughts on the way down the mountain. What should I do if it gets dark and I haven't reached the mountain yet?

It has a smaller drop than Dalongqiu and a similar style. Overall, it is a more beautiful waterfall, not as majestic as Huangguoshu Waterfall.

In Lingyan Scenic Area, walk all the way to the end, which is similar to Dalongqiu in form, but smaller.

The scenic area is good as a whole, but the waterfall is really not good. After returning from Lushan, you will find that it is completely incomparable.

Compared with Dalongqiu, the water volume is much smaller.

The waterfall is very thin and high. The water level is not very high when I went there at the end of June. Although it is not as shocking as many large waterfalls in China, it is good enough for me who has not seen a waterfall for many years.
