Xuedou Mountain Scenic Area

I went there on May Day, and here are some suggestions for traveling during the short holiday:

1. There will definitely be a lot of people at Xuedou Mountain during holidays. If you don't want to squeeze in with the crowds, it is recommended to book your ticket online one day in advance and go to the visitor center to check in at 7:30 (8 o'clock on weekdays). The scenic area will check in earlier during holidays. This time I arrived at the visitor center at 7:30, and ticket checking had already started, and there were quite a lot of tourists.

2. The first conventional route: Take the scenic bus from the tourist center - get off at Yushu Pavilion, walk to the Xuedou Temple Transfer Center, change to the Sanyintan Transfer Center - Sanyintan (down the mountain from the top) - small train - cable car - Miaogaotai - Qianzhangyan - Xuedou Temple and Zhang Xueliang's confinement place - Xuedou Temple Transfer Center and take a bus to the tourist center. This route is the most energy-saving. But you must get up early, otherwise you will have to wait in line for an hour or two at the small train and cable car.

3. If you have enough energy and are not carrying children or the elderly, you can also take the second route: take the scenic bus from the tourist center - get off at Yushu Pavilion, play Qianzhang Rock - Miaogao Terrace - cable car - small train - Sanyintan (from the foot of the mountain) - take the scenic bus from the Sanyintan Transfer Center to the Xuedou Temple Transfer Center - Xuedou Temple and Zhang Xueliang's Confinement Place - Xuedou Temple Transfer Center and take a bus to the tourist center. The advantage of this route is that you don't have to queue up for the cable car and the small train. In fact, the mountain road of Sanyintan is not steep, and it is not very strenuous to walk. My five-year-old son basically climbed the mountain by himself.

4. One thing you must pay attention to: taking the scenic bus from the tourist center only takes you to the Imperial Book Pavilion. If you want to go to Sanyintan, you have to walk a distance to the Xuedou Temple Transfer Center to take a bus to Sanyintan. There is a road next to the Imperial Book Pavilion that leads directly to Qianzhang Rock. If you want to take the first regular route, you must not check your ticket to enter, skip this place, go directly to the Xuedou Temple Transfer Center, and take a bus to Sanyintan. This time I went there without carefully studying the guide in advance, so I was cheated and took the second route.

5. There are buses to Xu Xiaoyan at the Sanyintan Transfer Center. I heard from the staff that there is only a glass plank road there, and the scenery is far inferior to Sanyintan. So if you go there on holidays, the queue for the bus will be very long, so it is recommended to skip this place.

6. Next to Xuedou Mountain is Zhang Xueliang’s first imprisonment place. Friends who are interested in the history of the Republic of China should not miss it.

7. It is recommended to visit Xuedou Mountain Scenic Area and Jiang's Hometown Scenic Area in two days. One day will be very tiring and time will be very tight.

8. Wait for the bus from Xuedou Mountain Transfer Center to the Visitor Center early in the afternoon. If you leave late, there will be a long queue at the Xuedou Mountain Transfer Center.

9. The scenery of Xuedou Mountain is only average.

It took less than an hour to reach the destination from Yunlong. After arriving at the scenic spot, the bus pick-up, sightseeing train and sightseeing cableway were all very good. A bottle of Coke and an ice cream in Sanyintan cost 25 yuan, which was a bit expensive, but it was understandable to carry it so far, right? There were many mountain climbings. I personally felt that Sanyintan and Wulongtan were similar, but there were more sightseeing trains and cableways. It is recommended to buy tickets online, which will be much cheaper

It rained for a long time, but today it was cloudy and the sun came out~ The weather is really great, the waterfall has a large flow, and the air is very fresh. It is cool to go there at this time. Feel the impact of the water flow and steaming your face under the waterfall. It's so cool! The supporting services in the entire scenic area are quite good. There are toilets everywhere, very clean. After experiencing the whole route, there are buses, walking, and small trains. The cable car is great~

We drove to Xikou for a visit, and also visited Chiang's former residence. It took two days to visit. Xuedou Mountain is still very large. The sign of the 5A scenic spot is hung there. The ticket price is still a bit expensive. It is recommended to buy a package ticket, which will be more cost-effective. The cableway and the happy train need to be purchased separately. Because the scenic area is relatively large, you need to take the scenic bus to various scenic spots. There are many waterfalls in the scenic area, especially Qianzhang Rock, with a very large drop. It is quite physically demanding to walk from the upstream to the downstream waterfall. You need to walk there by yourself. It takes about 40 minutes to go back and forth. Because it is winter, the water flow of the waterfall is not much, but it is still difficult to hide its momentum. There is a Maitreya Buddha in the Xuedou Temple at the foot of the mountain, which can be used by tourists to worship Buddha while playing. The cultural landscape is Miaogaotai and Zhang Xueliang's confinement place, which is still worth seeing. It takes a whole day to play the entire scenic area compactly. It is very tiring, but it is also worth it.

★ Xuedou Mountain, the place of Maitreya Buddha, is known as the "No. 1 Mountain in Siming". It is the highest peak of the Siming Mountain branch, with an altitude of 800 meters. It is known as "Penglai on the sea and Tiantai on the land". Xuedou Mountain was named "Famous Mountain in Dreams" because Emperor Renzong of the Northern Song Dynasty, Zhao Zhen, visited it in his dream. Emperor Lizong of the Southern Song Dynasty, Zhao Yun, wrote "Famous Mountain in Dreams" afterwards.



★The biggest attraction of Xuedou Mountain in terms of culture is the Buddhist culture. After all, it is one of the five famous Buddhist mountains in China and the dojo of Maitreya Buddha. In addition, the Xuedou Temple in the center of Xuedou Mountain was named "Xuedou Zisheng Zen Temple" by Emperor Zhenzong of Song during the Northern Song Dynasty. In the Southern Song Dynasty, it was listed as one of the "Five Mountains and Ten Temples", that is, one of the highest temples in the official temple system of the Southern Song Dynasty. Another major attraction of Xuedou Mountain in terms of culture is the hometown of the modern historical figures Chiang Kai-shek and his son. The mountain is full of their relics, which is also one of the important cultural highlights of the scenic spots set up in the scenic area.



★The biggest attraction of Xuedou Mountain in terms of natural landscape is the waterfall valley landscape. There are also self-funded recreational projects such as rock climbing and glass plank road.

I had never heard of Xuedou Mountain before, and I didn't have high expectations. I just wanted to take a leisurely walk, but I really didn't know how amazing Xuedou Mountain is! Xuedou Mountain is the highest peak of the Siming Mountain branch, with an altitude of 800 meters. It is the fifth famous Buddhist mountain, along with Wutai Mountain in Shanxi, Putuo Mountain in Zhejiang, Emei Mountain in Sichuan, and Jiuhua Mountain in Anhui. It is known as the "No. 1 Mountain in Siming". Xuedou Mountain is surrounded by mountains, with crisscrossing paths, refreshing breezes, and a pleasant climate. It is also famous for its unique cultural landscape and natural landscapes that integrate mountains, lakes, and waterfalls. Compared with the cultural landscape "Jiang's Former Residence", I prefer Xuedou Mountain with its green peaks and overlapping waterfalls.

Xuedou Mountain was named "Famous Mountain in Dreams" because Emperor Renzong of the Northern Song Dynasty, Zhao Zhen, visited it in his dream. Emperor Lizong of the Southern Song Dynasty, Zhao Yun, later wrote "Famous Mountain in Dreams". It is famous for its beautiful natural scenery. Its iconic attractions include Qianzhang Rock, Xuedou Temple, Sanyintan, Xufu Rock, Miaogao Terrace and the world's tallest bronze statue of Maitreya Buddha. Xuedou Temple, located in the center of Xuedou Mountain, was founded in the Jin Dynasty, flourished in the Tang Dynasty and prospered in the Song Dynasty. It has a history of more than 1,700 years. For thousands of years, it has been a place of worship for many eminent monks. It is the fundamental dojo of Maitreya Buddha. Xuedou Mountain in Zhejiang is one of the five famous Buddhist mountains in China, along with Wutai Mountain in Shanxi, Putuo Mountain in Zhejiang, Emei Mountain in Sichuan and Jiuhua Mountain in Anhui.

The whole route is good, the waterfall after the rain is also beautiful, the air is good, not very tiring

The mountain is not high, but the scenery is quite quiet.

5A charging project, A-level service attitude. The sightseeing bus takes tourists to the top of the mountain, but there is no sightseeing bus at the end of the tour, and the security guards drive people down!

The Xuedou Mountain Scenic Area is very beautiful, especially the Sanyintan Scenic Area.

Xuedou Mountain has beautiful scenery and you can enjoy it. It is recommended to walk up the mountain and take a sightseeing bus down the mountain. You can enjoy the beautiful scenery without being too tired, and vice versa! It is not recommended to spend time going to Jiang's former residence. It is a waste of tickets and time, and it is not very fun.

It's fun to have mountains and water, and here you can find both. People who go up the mountain don't feel tired and their feet don't feel soft when they go down the mountain. It's moderate here, and a few waterfalls add a lot of points. The small train is a bit of a pit

We set out from Beilun at 8:00 am on September 23, 2018. We took the subway to the south square of the railway station and waited for bus 988. It was a ride of less than an hour and a half, and we arrived at the tourist center at a little after 11:00. As we had almost no travel guide before going, we spent a long time looking around in the lobby, wondering how to travel best. After looking at the recommended route in the lobby, we followed it. We bought a package ticket for Xuedou Mountain, which cost 150 per person. We took a bus directly to Sanyintan for transfer, and immediately transferred to Xufuyan to see the waterfall after getting off the bus. It happened to be a foggy day, so we didn't see much of the scenery. The waterfall was pretty good, but it was a bit tiring to get to the bottom of the waterfall and then climb up.

Then take a bus to Sanyintan.

The whole way down was filled with mountains, rivers and waterfalls, and the air was quite nice. Unfortunately, it was drizzling and we arrived a little late, so we left in a hurry because we were afraid we wouldn't have enough time, and we didn't get to savor the feeling carefully.

All the way down to the Happiness Express and cable car, you must take this, otherwise there will not be enough time. The total ticket price is 50.

First, we took the Happiness Express to the bottom of Qianzhangyan Waterfall. This waterfall is really nice. The water vapor is refreshing.

Then take the cable car to Myokodai, which is Chiang Kai-shek's behind-the-scenes command center and also the top of the Qianzhangyan Waterfall.

Then we went down to Xuedou Temple, looked at the Big Buddha and left. It was about five o'clock.

There was no rest during the whole journey. We walked a lot. It would be more convenient to go earlier. It took about 20 minutes to take the bus from Xuedou Temple to the tourist center. Then we stood for more than an hour back to Ningbo. We were exhausted. 😢

Overall it's OK, it would be better if you drive yourself

Xuedou Mountain is located in the west of Fenghua, Ningbo, and is a branch of Siming Mountain. It is 800 meters above sea level, with deep valleys and steep cliffs. The stream water gushes down like a snowy cave, hence the name. It has the Tang Xuedou Temple and is one of the five famous mountains of Chinese Buddhism. It also has other scenic spots such as the Imperial Book Pavilion, Qianzhang Rock Waterfall, Miaogao Terrace, and Sanyintan Waterfall. It is a national key scenic spot.

I bought a pass for Xuedou Mountain, which includes the sightseeing bus, forest train and cableway. As soon as we entered the scenic area and got on the sightseeing bus, it started to rain heavily. Our family's trip to Xuedou Mountain started in a difficult mode. Although it was a bit regrettable, Xuedou Mountain in the rain also has a unique flavor. The entire scenic area was contracted by our family, and we didn't encounter other tourists on the forest train and cableway... Our trip to Xuedou Mountain ended in a hurry in the heavy rain, but the beautiful scenery of Xuedou Mountain is worth recommending. I look forward to appreciating the beauty of Xuedou Mountain under clear skies next time...

At that time, it was drizzling in Xuedou Mountain Scenic Area, and the mountain was shrouded in clouds. The air was fresh and the scenery was beautiful. I wanted to hike up the mountain to see the Buddha, but there was no hiking trail, there were many vehicles, the distance was long, and it was dangerous, so I gave up. (So self-driving is highly recommended)

We took the scenic area shuttle bus at the Xuedou Mountain Visitor Center and got off at Shangyintan Scenic Spot. Then we set out from Shangyintan, climbed down the stairs, walked and stopped, and took a rest to Zhongyintan, and then to Xiayintan. Some tourists came in the opposite direction, all up the mountain road, which was obviously more strenuous. We went from Xiayintan, crossed the Jiulong Bridge to the West Station of Xingfu Express, took a bus to the East Station, then to Miaogaotai, and then walked to the exit of Xuedou Temple. It took more than three hours. On the west side of Qianzhangyan, there is a strange peak, called Miaogaotai, also known as Tianzhu Peak. It is directly facing the abyss on three sides, and it looks particularly high and steep. The platform area is about 350 square meters. It has been a place for Xuedou to climb and enjoy the scenery and a summer resort since ancient times.

We drove to Xuedou Mountain in Xikou, Fenghua. When we arrived at Xuedou Mountain Tourist Center, we were stopped and told that we could only visit Xuedou Temple by car and that we had to go to the tourist center to buy a combined ticket to take a bus. So we parked the car near the tourist center and saved 10 yuan by not going to the paid parking lot. The total cost was as follows: Xuedou Mountain combined ticket 150 + Xufuyan Glass Plank Road 50 + small train and cable car 50 yuan, a total of 250 yuan per person. There is no catering in the scenic area, so you have to prepare your own food in advance. We just ate a little at noon. The overall tour time takes about 8 hours.

Xuedou Mountain Scenic Area is the highest peak of the Siming Mountain branch, with an altitude of 800 meters. It is known as the "No. 1 Mountain in Siming". There is a breast peak on the mountain, and there is a sinus on the breast peak. The water flows out of the sinus, and the color is white like milk. Therefore, the spring is called Ruquan, and the sinus is called Xuedou. The mountain is also named after this. The scenic area includes Xikou Town, Xuedou Mountain, and Tingxia Lake. There are Qianzhang Rock, Sanyintan Waterfall, Miaogao Terrace, Shanglianggang, Linhai and other landscapes. It is a national key scenic spot and is listed as a national forest park. It is one of the scenic spots in Zhejiang Province. It is located 8 kilometers northwest of Xikou Town. The mountains are beautiful, the rocks and gullies are magnificent, the waterfalls are gorgeous, and the forests and springs are deep. The breast peak on the mountain is like a sinus, and the water flows out of the sinus like milk. Among them, Miaogao Terrace and Qianzhang Rock Waterfall are particularly eye-catching.

Time required for a single person walking tour in the scenic area: 5 and a half hours. At 6:30 am, take bus 988 at the South Square of Ningbo Station to Xuedou Mountain Scenic Area (5 yuan ticket), transfer to the scenic area bus to Sanyintan Transfer Station first, and then change to the bus to Xufuyan, where there is a glass plank road (50 yuan ticket) and a large waterfall. You can walk down the cloud ladder to the bottom of the waterfall, and then return by the original route. Take the bus back to Sanyintan Scenic Area, walk to the deepest point, change to the Happy Train (45 yuan) and the cable car (maintenance on the same day) to Miaogaotai and Qianzhangyan, where you can see the Giant Buddha and the tour ends.

The planning and arrangement of the scenic spot is too bad. There is no other optional route for the small train from Sanyintan to Xuedou Temple in the back, and the train frequency is too low. Take a photo to feel this rubbish arrangement. It takes 40 minutes to wait for the train in this place

Let's focus on the travel guide. The weekday pass I bought on this website is 178 yuan. It is a pass. I took bus No. 988 from Ningbo Railway Station to Xuedou Mountain Scenic Area early in the morning. You can catch up on some sleep on the bus. It goes from terminal to terminal, which is great. The first bus leaves at 6:30 in the morning. Arrive at the scenic spot before 8 o'clock. Go to the WC, lose weight, eat some food in the bag, exchange a ticket. At 8:15, the first scenic spot bus will start. The first stop is "Sanyintan". If you don't have enough time, start from here. If you have good physical strength and enough time, wait on the spot. About ten minutes later, there will be a scenic spot bus going up the mountain. This stop is "Xu Fuyan". Get off the bus and pass through a RV club. Go up the steps to the scenic spot. You will reach the entrance of the scenic spot. It is said to be nine floors. Go down first and then go up. In fact, it is not just nine floors. There are no handrails on many steps going down. It is really dangerous. It is recommended that people with weak coordination should forget it. The more you walk, the weaker your legs are. After visiting this scenic spot, I am basically exhausted. There is a big waterfall at the bottom. If you have been to Huangguoshu or something, you don't need to come. Haha, I came here to see it, but I really regretted climbing. There is only one principle, go up and down and return by the original route, don't walk around. After the tour, remember to take the scenic area bus back to "Sanyintan". If the driver is not in the car, please ask the RV club to call the driver. We left at 10:30 and missed the bus in front of us. We waited for a long time for the next bus. The driver went to have a meal in the middle. Haha, fortunately, there was plenty of time that day and we could travel freely.

The scenic area bus arrived at the "Sanyintan". Basically, we went from top to bottom, all up and down, which was a bit tiring. We saw the upper spring, the middle spring, and the lower spring, and then took a small train to the "Miaogaotai". It was still beautiful spring water. After going up and down, we took the cable car to Miaogaotai, the house where Chiang Kai-shek lived in those days. It was really wonderful. After the tour, we walked out and went to see the place where Zhang Xueliang was imprisoned. In fact, there was nothing to see. We had enough time and a pass. The last one was Xuedou Temple. Those who have energy can climb up. We couldn't climb anymore, so we took a small turn and came out to take the scenic area bus back to the service area. Go straight for a while and you will reach the 988 bus station. I recommend the taro nipple outside Xuedou Temple. It tastes very good, ten yuan a catty, about ten yuan a piece. We arrived at the station before five in the afternoon and had already eaten delicious food before seven in the evening. It was a day of physical work, and we slept until we woke up naturally the next day. Haha, we were exhausted.

Overall, it is a good scenic spot. I will visit it again next time I go to Jiang's house. If I have time, I can buy a two-day pass. I still have enough time to return to the vicinity of Ningbo Railway Station on the same day. I personally think the scenic spot is very beautiful and worth visiting. If you are not physically fit, don't go to the highest fountain. The only drawback is that the safety facilities need to be strengthened.

Different from the Wutai Mountain dojo of Manjushri Bodhisattva, the Putuo Mountain dojo of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, the Emei Mountain dojo of Samantabhadra Bodhisattva, and the Jiuhua Mountain dojo of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, there is some controversy over the dojo of Maitreya Bodhisattva. Fanjing Mountain in Guizhou and Xuedou Mountain in Fenghua both call themselves Maitreya dojo.

The main image worshipped at Fanjing Mountain is Maitreya with a heavenly crown, which is the image of Maitreya Bodhisattva when Buddhism was first introduced to China from India; while the main image worshipped at Xuedou Mountain is the image of "Budai Monk", the incarnation of Maitreya Bodhisattva, which is also the source of the image of "Big-bellied Maitreya" that we are familiar with.

Sanyintan is a landscape composed of three fold waterfalls. Because it is hidden in the valley and has three pools, it is called Sanyintan. From high to low, they are named: Shangyintan, Zhongyintan, and Xiayintan. It is also the essence of Xuedou Mountain's natural landscape.

Both Mount Fanjing and Mount Xuedou claim to be the place of practice for Maitreya Bodhisattva, but Mount Xuedou cannot be compared with Mount Fanjing. It is much worse than Mount Fanjing.

Fenghua Xikou is still worth a visit, where there are several scenic spots including Xu Fuyan, Sanyintan, Qianzhangyan, Miaogaotai, Xuedou Temple, and the first confinement place of General Zhang Xueliang. If you want to travel by yourself, it is recommended to take the scenic bus to the innermost Xu Fuyan, and then go out one by one. If you join a tour group, you may only be able to visit Qianzhangyan, Miaogaotai, Xuedou Temple, and other attractions that are easiest to reach.

Let me talk about the route first. I think the most reasonable way to go is: Xu Fuyan → Sanyintan Waterfall Group → Happiness Train → Yangzhi Bridge → Cable Car → Miaogaotai → Qianzhangyan → Xuedou Poetry → Zhang Xueliang’s First Confinement Place.

If you drive, you can park your car at the Xufuyan parking lot for free. This place is isolated from other attractions and cannot be reached on foot. After the visit, in the off-season, you can drive to the Xuedou Mountain Tourism Distribution Center where you can park your car for 10 yuan. If it is the peak season, you can park your car at the parking lot where you buy tickets at Xuedou Mountain, which is also 10 yuan. The only difference is that you have to change buses one more time.

Attention if you come here by bus. The bus you take at the ticket purchase point will drop you off at Yushu Pavilion. Go forward to the entrance of Qianzhang Rock, and then to Xuedou Temple, which is the Xuedou Mountain Tourism Distribution Center. The bus to Xufu Rock runs every 20 minutes. Ask clearly before getting on the bus! There is a bus at the entrance of Xufu Rock. After visiting, you can take the bus to the Three Waterfalls. Friendly reminder, the Happiness Train and the cable car stop operating at 3:30. It takes at least 2 and a half hours to walk down from the Three Waterfalls, which means the latest time to visit the Three Waterfalls is 1 o'clock.

Finally, let's comment on these scenic spots. Xufuyan is far away, so there are relatively few people, but the waterfall of Xufuyan is far above the three waterfalls, and even above Qianzhangyan, because Qianzhangyan is a beauty with a protruding chin. This is the most worthwhile place to come! Because of the large drop, a 9-story sightseeing staircase was built artificially to go down the mountain. By the way, I have a doubt. The rocks in the stream at the entrance of the scenic spot are blood red. Why is this? Are there any friends who know geography? There are also RVs available for rent here, but the rent is a little expensive, and the cheapest one is 688. The three waterfalls are shorter than each other. The upper waterfall is the highest, but the cliff in front is not wide enough. By the way, there is also a mandarin duck waterfall under the lower waterfall, which is very suitable for couples to take photos. Yangzhi Bridge, there is a fork road before Yangzhi Bridge. One side is walking to Miaogao Terrace and the other side is walking on Yangzhi Bridge and then taking the cable car. Those who are physically fit can try to walk to Miaogao Terrace. Since I overlooked Qianzhang Rock from above yesterday, it was very spectacular. Today, I saw the whole picture of Qianzhang Rock at Yangzhi Bridge. The beauty with a protruding chin was very disappointed! Miaogao Terrace, Chiang Kai-shek’s former villa, but after so many years, don’t expect to see anything strange. They are all old photos. The photos of Chiang and his children and grandchildren having fun are still very moving. It is the other side of the former Chinese brother! Qianzhang Rock, the Qianzhang Rock overlooking from above is the most beautiful and spectacular. I once thought that this waterfall surpassed Dalongqiu, because when I went to Dalongqiu, there was no water, hahahaha. Xuedou Temple, the biggest attraction is the big Buddha, but from a distance, it looks a little small against the backdrop of the back mountain. When you get closer, it is actually very big. If you want to climb to the big Buddha, you need another 20 yuan. Zhang Xueliang's first confinement place. If you don't buy a package ticket or don't have time, you don't have to visit this place. There is nothing to see here. The original building was burned down that year. The current building was rebuilt in 1983. It can't even be called a replica. There are few buildings from 60 years ago that are still alive. How can they be imitated? Fortunately, Chinese people are good at thinking and imagining. This place is very small and you can visit it in ten minutes. Oh, by the way, although the confinement place is marked within the scope of the Xuedou Temple map, it is actually outside the courtyard wall, which made me find it difficult.

Fortunately, I chose a scenic spot with fewer people during the Spring Festival. There are plenty of shuttle buses, and all entrances support scanning QR code tickets. The route is well arranged, going down the mountain from Sanyintan, suitable for the elderly, the weak, women and children, and there are small trains and cable cars in the middle. When you go to Xikou, you must not miss Xuedou Mountain, because Xuedou Mountain has more beautiful scenery and small mountain villages, as well as the fat Maitreya Buddha in Xuedou Temple.

You need a ticket to enter Xuedou Mountain, 90 yuan including the shuttle bus. If you are there elderly people, don't be fooled by them. They will never take the feelings of the elderly and children into consideration in order to make money from your shuttle bus. Their shuttle bus is not always available. We were there for a long time and hardly saw a single bus. It would be terrible if the elderly and children were to stand on the roadside waiting for the bus under the scorching sun or in the rain. Just wait.

If you want to drive in, you need some tricks. There are many villages in the scenic area and cars can enter and exit freely. You just need to find the name of a village on the map and say you are going to the village to find Wang Ermaizi and Qin Erguaofu. It is a national 5A-level scenic spot, located in Xikou Town, Fenghua District, Ningbo City, the hometown of Chiang Kai-shek. You can take bus No. 988 from the South Square of Ningbo Railway Station to get there directly, or take a bus from Ningbo South Bus Station to Xikou, and then transfer to bus No. 106. The ticket to the scenic spot is 150 yuan, including 30 yuan for the scenic spot bus. The Xuedou Temple inside is said to be the Maitreya Buddha's dojo, and it has the tallest Maitreya Buddha sitting statue in the country. The essence of the scenic spot should be the section from Sanyintan to Qianzhang Cliff. This section has beautiful mountains and clear waters, waterfalls and rainbows, and the Qianzhang Cliff that falls straight down. It feels a bit like a small Jiuzhaigou. Unfortunately, I went there in winter, and the water volume is not as good as in summer. The best route is to take a bus to Sanyintan, starting from Sanyintan as the starting point of the tour, all the way down the mountain, saving time and effort, then take a small train to Qianzhang Cliff, and then take the cable car to Miaogaotai. The small train and cable car are charged separately, a total of 50 yuan. From Miaogaotai, you can overlook the entire scenic area, and finally walk down the mountain from Miaogaotai to Xuedou Temple. It should be noted that the cable car is overhauled one day a month. If it encounters maintenance, you can only rely on your own two legs. It is recommended to consult the scenic spot in advance to plan your own trip. Generally speaking, the scenery is still good.

The Maitreya Buddha in Xuedou Temple is super huge. You can see him from a distance, towering above the sky and between the green mountains.

Qianzhangyan Waterfall is really high. When I went there before, the water volume was relatively small, which affected the degree of shock.

At that time, I bought a combined ticket for Xuedou Mountain and Jiang's Hometown on Ctrip. It was quite cost-effective and I could visit for 2 days. The scenery of Xuedou Mountain is really nice. The gate of the scenic area is also very grand. The key is that the transportation is relatively convenient. Even at the bus stop in Fenghua, you still need to wave your hand to signal.

The mountain has beautiful scenery, fresh air, waterfalls and streams worth seeing. The most eye-catching is the open-air Maitreya Buddha statue in Xuedou Temple at the foot of the mountain. It usually takes half a day to visit Xuedou Mountain. It is very convenient to combine walking with sightseeing buses, cable cars and transportation buses.

Due to its age and layout, the overall architectural style of the Xuedou Mountain Buddha has its own characteristics. In the Buddhist temple built on the mountain, monks are doing their homework behind the main hall, and a solemn and sacred feeling fills the valley. The Maitreya Buddha on the top of the mountain can be climbed, and each person needs to pay 20 yuan. From the entrance of the scenic area, there are shuttle buses to take tourists to different scenic spots, and there are detailed instructions.

The scenery is pretty good, with various modes of transportation, such as small trains and cable cars. It was just thundering, so I waited for more than an hour at the cable car, and there was no place to sit. I was so tired.

Came here for Myokodai, and I was not disappointed, it was awesome

I bought a 180 combined ticket online, which includes bus, Happiness Express, cable car, and transportation tickets. My friend and I took the bus (the fee is included in the combined ticket) to Qianzhangyan but did not go in. We took a bus from the nearby Xuedoushan transfer station to Sanyintan and followed the hiking trail through the upper, middle and lower three pools. We took the Happiness Express to Qianzhangyan Waterfall but did not exit. We then took the cable car to the source of the waterfall, Miaogaotai, and went to Xuedou Temple. Finally, we took the bus from the transfer station to the end. The combined ticket is more convenient. It is actually mandatory to buy tickets and pay various transportation fees.

Fenghua Xikou, the water of Shanxi River is crystal clear. The disadvantage of traveling with a group is that you can't see the scenery you want to see the most. I never dare to underestimate it under the company of the elderly group members for two days. The little friends set a good example. We burned calories and sweated outdoors. Overall, the cost performance is not high. You can either take the 988 bus from the South Bus Station to the scenic spot, or take the bus to Xikou and then change to 106. The happy train waited too long. That is, the highest point of Myokotai can overlook the whole scenery. Overall, it is average…

Get on the scenic area shuttle bus from the scenic area ticket gate. Go to the Maitreya Buddha Temple. There is also a parking lot for the scenic area shuttle bus. You have to get on the bus there to go up and down the mountain. Because the scenic area bus ticket is 30 yuan and can go all the way to the Sanyintan scenic spot on the top of the mountain. It is time-saving and labor-saving to walk down the mountain from the top of the mountain, and you can see all the scenic spots. If you only take the bus halfway and then climb the mountain, it will take 2-3 hours for a healthy person to climb to the top of the mountain, which is very hard.

The Sanyintan in Xuedou Mountain has a very good natural environment, with waterfalls, green bamboos, and streams. Chiang Kai-shek visited here many times and once wanted to build it into a second Lushan Mountain.

We walked down from Shangtan, Zhongtan, and Xiatan and arrived at the Xingfu Train Station in the mountains. We bought a combined ticket for the train and the cable car for 50 yuan each. Sanyintan and Myokodai are two different mountains. You have to take the train and then transfer to the cable car to get to the other mountain. It is a must-go route for transfer. You can see the uphill cable car station after getting off the train. But you can't get there. You have to go up the mountain road for a long way. It takes about 20 minutes to continue to take the cable car to Myokodai. There is a big waterfall on the way. It is a waterfall coming down from the thousand-foot cliff on the mountain of Myokodai. It is very long. You can only see the lower half from the bottom. You have to go to the top of the mountain to see the upper half.

After getting off the ropeway, we walked a short distance to Myokodai. That was Chiang Kai-shek's villa. After Chiang Kai-shek stepped down from office, he and Soong Mei-ling lived here. The villa is on the platform at the top of the mountain. The view is wide and the air and environment are excellent. At that time, it was not only a residence, but also Chiang Kai-shek's actual command post.

Continue walking down for another 40 minutes and you will return to the shuttle bus parking lot. Next to it is the Maitreya Buddha's temple. (Just like Putuo Mountain is the temple of Guanyin Bodhisattva and Wutai Mountain is the temple of Manjusri Bodhisattva). It is one of the five major temples of Buddhism in my country. It is large in scale and holds grand ceremonies every year. It is an ancient temple from the Jin Dynasty and is very popular. The temple is divided into the new site and the old site. The new site is large in scale and has the largest open-air Maitreya Buddha statue in the country. The old site is outside the right wall of the new site and is connected by a door. It is mainly the main hall, Buddhist school, monks' accommodation, Sutra Library, etc. Most tourists and tour groups only go to the new site, not the old site. This is a great pity

After leaving the Maitreya Buddha Temple, walk along the wall on the right to the mountain path. That is where Chiang Kai-shek imprisoned Zhang Xueliang. In fact, it is separated from the old site of the Maitreya Temple by a wall. It is a small courtyard with a standing bronze statue of Zhang Xueliang in the courtyard. Behind it is a bungalow, which is Zhang Xueliang's residence. There is also a seated statue of Miss Zhao Si in the corner of the courtyard. Zhang Xueliang also walked out of the courtyard and went to the temple next door. Now the temple still has two nanmu trees planted by Zhang Xueliang himself.



1. Half a day is not enough to visit Xuedou Mountain.

2. The 30-yuan scenic area shuttle bus ticket is a round-trip ticket from the main gate to Sanyintan. If you get off at the scenic area and it is not Sanyintan, you need to find another bus to Sanyintan and continue to take the bus up the mountain.

3. When visiting, start from Sanyintan on the top of the mountain and go down to play, so that you can manage your time better. Don't go to Maitreya Temple first, but leave it for after you go down the mountain.

This must be recommended. I went to Xikou just to see it. There are many waterfalls, especially the waterfall at Qianzhangyan, which is spectacular. The stream water is cool.

I went there during the National Day holiday. Fortunately, it wasn't too crowded and was quite comfortable. There are many waterfalls on the mountain, but the climb is not very steep. The scenery on the mountain is nice. First, I took the scenic bus up, and then started climbing. The cable car requires a separate ticket. I also took what's called a small bullet train down the mountain, otherwise it would be tiring to hike down the mountain. Overall, the climb was not very tiring that day. By the way, the Maitreya Buddha looked so majestic, and there were so many stairs.

I went there at the end of March. The weather was just right, neither too hot nor too cold. The scenery was beautiful, with the Qianzhangyan Waterfall and Miaogao Terrace. When I visited the photography exhibition, I saw a picture of a monk standing in the snow, like an otherworldly master. I'm amazed! Next time I can go there on a snowy day in winter, as it lives up to its name, Xuedou Mountain!

At 7 o'clock in the morning, I took bus 106 to the tourist center, but it was not open yet. I waited until 8 o'clock to exchange tickets and enter, and then went straight to Sanyintan. Following the route of Sanyintan-Sanqiao-small train-Qianzhangyan Waterfall-Cableway-Miaogaotai, it was much easier to go downhill, but I had to wait for time at the small train and cableway to save operating costs. This section is the essence of Xuedou Mountain Scenic Area. Miaogaotai is really beautiful and wonderful. It is quiet, small and unique. On the platform, you can see the beautiful mountains and rivers, and your mood will be happy! After visiting Chiang Kai-shek's villa, Xuedou Temple, and Zhang Xueliang's prison, we went down the mountain to Xikou Town to see Wenchang Pavilion, small houses, Chiang Kai-shek's villa, Wuling Gate, Chiang's ancestral hall, and Fenggaofang old house.

Take bus No. 106 to the tourist distribution center, where images of Maitreya can be seen everywhere inside and outside the center.

Take the scenic area transportation to visit the Maitreya Buddha in Xuedou Temple first. Then take the scenic area transportation to the entrance of Sanyintan, where you can go down to visit Sanyintan and Qianzhang Cliff. You can also take the bus to Xufu Rock.

The Sanyintan-Qianzhang Cliff tour route requires the purchase of the Happiness Express + Cableway, a combined ticket of 50 yuan per person. If purchased separately: Happiness Express 45 yuan per person, Cableway 35 yuan per person. If you do not take the Happiness Express, you must return to the original route after visiting Sanyintan, and there is no walking path.

Xuedou Mountain has 6-7 main scenic spots. You need to take a bus from the tourist center to the mountain. The bus has about three stops. The main scenic spots include Qianzhang Rock, Xuedou Temple, Sanyintan, Xufu Rock, Miaogao Terrace and the world's tallest bronze sitting Maitreya Buddha statue. I think the most interesting one is Zhang Xueliang's first confinement place. The house where Zhang Xueliang was imprisoned was originally the Xuedou Mountain Travel Agency, but later it caught fire, so Zhang Xueliang was transferred to other places.

Like Jiang's hometown, Xuedou Mountain is in Xikou, and you can get there by bus from Ningbo. Xuedou Mountain is a large scenic spot, and you need to take a bus to various places. When you enter the gate, you will get a tourist map, which is divided into three major scenic areas. We went there in April, the weather was not cold, it was relatively quiet, and the scenery was very good. There were photos of Jiang Gong here and there everywhere. I was deeply impressed by passing a bamboo forest. After a storm, the bamboo leaves fell down, which was particularly beautiful. There are also small trains and cable cars inside, which are included in the purchase of the pass.

I went there on a department trip. Xuedou Mountain is a beautiful place with clear water and mountains. It's nice to go there for a self-driving tour on the weekend. Climb the mountain and look at the water. The air is fresh.

Zhejiang's mountains and rivers are quite beautiful, the air in the mountains is fresh, and there is more rain in spring and summer. Remember to bring your own raincoat when you go into the mountains. They are very expensive in scenic spots. It looks great to take pictures in the mountains wearing pink and yellow jackets!

The scenery in this area is similar after seeing it many times: bamboo forests, mountain streams, small waterfalls, mist and smoke in the mountains, old trees covered with vines, and lakes in the mountains.

The famous mountains and rivers in Zhejiang are really impressive. The transportation is very good. Whether it is a bus, light rail or cable car, it takes less than one minute to get there. This is the first time I have seen such a strong transportation capacity for scenic spots.

The design of the entire tourist route is quite good. All the basic points are involved, so you don't have to go back much.

From Zhoushan to Xikou, we drove along the highway and arrived at Fenghua Xikou about two and a half hours later.

Xikou has two main attractions, the Chiang's Former Residence and the Xuedou Mountain Scenic Area. The Chiang's Former Residence is mainly the residence of Chiang Kai-shek in those days. It was built magnificently. Coming here can give you a more comprehensive understanding of this very important political figure in modern China. Friends who love history and architecture can choose to visit. The scenery of Xuedou Mountain is beautiful, and we will talk about it in detail later. The weather is very good, so we plan to go to Xuedou Mountain, but due to time constraints, we still have some regrets.

Tickets: The ticket to Jiang's Former Residence is 120 yuan, and the ticket to Xuedou Mountain is 150 yuan (120 ticket + 30 bus ticket). You can buy a combined ticket for 230 yuan (200 ticket + 30 bus ticket). Student ID is half price. You can choose to drive up the mountain to Xuedou Mountain, but due to the large number of tourists during the Spring Festival holiday, small cars are not allowed to drive up the mountain, and you can only take the scenic area public transportation.

We arrived at Xikou at about two o'clock, but we had to queue for a long time to enter the scenic area, so we bought tickets at about three o'clock to take the scenic bus up the mountain. When buying tickets, the ticket seller asked us that there would be no bus down at five o'clock. Are you sure you want to buy it? Of course, we are sure. Since we are here, although time is tight, we still have to go to see the scenery of Xuedou Mountain. Just as we passed the ticket gate, a bus was about to leave, so we hurried up. More than ten minutes later, we arrived at the destination. After getting off the bus, we found that we were riding with a tour group, so we followed the tour guide for a while. First, we came to Xuedou Temple. It turned out to be unwise because we stayed in Xuedou Temple for too long, and then we left by ourselves. Finally, when we finished visiting Miaogaotai, it was about four forty-five. We couldn't continue to go up to Sanyintan. It felt a pity because I heard that the scenery of Sanyintan is very beautiful, so it is recommended to come to Xuedou Mountain before 1:30 pm. You can choose to go to Sanyintan first and then go down to Miaogaotai and then to Qianzhangyan, which is more labor-saving. Of course, if you only want to see the waterfall, or don’t have enough time, you can choose the same route as me, from Senjo Rock to Myoko Terrace and then return the same way.

We were a little reluctant to return. The scenery and planning of the Xuedou Mountain Scenic Area are so well done that it makes people feel as if they are in a national deep forest park or a natural oxygen bar. The scenic area is also very clean. It is an original ecological experience all the way. There are many tourists on holidays, so it is recommended to come on weekdays. You can play there for a whole day and fully experience the charm of Xuedou Mountain. It will definitely be worth the trip.

We started from Ningbo and went to Xufu Rock, the westernmost part of Xuedou Mountain, and then passed Sanyintan, Miaogaotai, Qianzhangyan Waterfall to Xuedou Temple. There are many scenic spots. Please start the tour early. I personally recommend that you prepare food and water. The price of the scenic spot is slightly expensive. The service of the scenic spot is relatively complete. It is a mature scenic spot and you don’t have to worry too much. I think some scenic spots are very majestic and beautiful, which is what I like. I went to Sanyintan, which is highly recommended online. It is really very good. It can be said to be the essence. The fun of the mountains and clear streams and small waterfalls are super refreshing. I highly recommend this scenic spot.

It costs 100 RMB to take a taxi from Jiang's former residence to Sanyintan-Shangyintan, and 20 RMB to go directly to the foot of Xuedou Mountain (about 25 RMB for a taxi). If you don't live there, you must check in advance, check in advance, check in advance, check in advance the latest departure time of the return trip from Xikou Bus Station (important things should be said three times!)...
