The world's first Disneyland is not very new, but you can feel the Disney culture as soon as you enter the park. Across from Disneyland is the Adventure Park, which is more suitable for older children and adults, while younger children are more suitable here. There are many large parking lots around Disney. If you want to park closer to the park, you need to arrive early. If you arrive late, you need to follow the navigation to find the surrounding parking lots. There are shuttle buses from the parking lots to the park entrance. When you get off, remember the location and wait for the shuttle bus at the same place when you get back.

Disney has several parking lots, all with names. We navigated to the Toy Story parking lot, which was $25 a day with no time limit, and then took the shuttle bus into the park. It was incredibly crowded, and it wasn't even a holiday.

There are too many people. Who says Americans don't want to queue? Some projects take 80 minutes to shoot, which is unbearable. The projects are a bit childish. Except for a bungee jumping machine and a big roller coaster, the others are not exciting.

You must buy tickets online in advance or bring cash. When I went there on a Monday, I still had to queue for half an hour to buy tickets with a credit card. There was a separate window for cash purchases, and I could buy them in less than 10 minutes.



Ticket prices have increased. In June 2019, a single-day ticket was $149 for adults and $141 for children (after tax, $164 for adults and $156 for children). An additional $50 can be converted into a pass for the adjacent California Adventure Park (but Disneyland is already enough for a full day).



Unlike Universal Studios, where you have to pay to buy a Fastpass, Disney's Fastpass is free. You take your ticket to each popular area and exchange it for a Fastpass. The Fastpass will be marked with the time you should arrive. When you are queuing in the Fastpass line, the staff will check both your ticket and the Fastpass ticket.



This is my fourth time to Disneyland (once in Orlando, once in Hong Kong, and twice here), mainly to bring my daughter here to play. I didn't find anything else new, but I thought the big comet in the fireworks at night was really magical. It was just like every Disney opening, a big star with a long tail behind it. The star was obviously very big, and the tail was thin at first and then thick and very long.

Arriving at Disneyland felt like arriving at an amusement park in China. There were crowds of people waiting for the park to open, and there were also student activities—perhaps they were on a spring outing. Seeing so many people in the US is truly rare; it felt like returning to my homeland. There were two lines to enter the park: first, for security, where you had to have your bag checked. For some reason, I had a brain glitch and brought a selfie stick. I'd read in the guidebook that selfie sticks aren't allowed at Disneyland, but I completely forgot about it that day. The guy who checked it was a portly guy. I asked if I could leave it in my bag, but he said, "Either leave it at the hotel or give it to me. I won't give it back!" Okay, so I handed it in.

After passing security, you can choose to enter California Adventure Park or Disneyland. The Adventure Park is on the left, which has many young people, while the traditional Disneyland has more family groups.



We bought our tickets from Zuzuche, printed them out beforehand, and scanned the QR code to enter. It was very convenient and relatively inexpensive. Upon entering the park, we realized our previous guide wasn't enough. We were completely lost as to which attractions to visit first and how to get a FastPass. Thankfully, we quickly divided the work: I was responsible for deciding the next attraction based on my guide, while Mr. M planned the route. We found our teamwork to be quite effective, and we managed to try almost every attraction along the way. With the exception of the relatively unremarkable children's rides, all were quite enjoyable.

There were so many people and the sun was so strong. No one in foreign countries used umbrellas, so we could only spray sunscreen over and over again...



The location for the fireworks show was really disappointing. We walked around the central square twice and the staff kept telling us to keep going and not to stop. It was not until later that we realized that we could get through the cordon.

Since we both had seen Disney's fireworks in China, the quality of the fireworks was incomparable. When the music started, classic Disney animation characters appeared on the buildings and castles on both sides of the road, and the fireworks, Mr. M and I couldn't help but be moved.

We entered the park at 9 am and came out at 10 pm. As we hadn't adjusted to the time difference, we were both extremely tired from the sun and the walking. But I am very glad that I didn't miss the fireworks show that night, because now I don't remember how tired I was, but the fireworks show with the chorus is deeply imprinted in my mind. I still tear up when I think about it. This should be one of our best memories.

As soon as I entered the park, I forgot all my travel tips and didn't even bother getting fast passes for popular attractions. I simply rode whatever caught my eye. So, we rode the Snow White train and the carousel, both with the kids, which was a true blast from childhood. The carousel was my favorite amusement park attraction as a child. I'd also ridden it at Orlando Disney before, and the line was incredibly long. Perhaps because we were midweek, it wasn't too crowded this time, so I was able to ride it in no time.

We then spent a long time wandering the park looking for a restroom, only to remember to check the app and finally find our way. After a long morning of wandering, we ate a rather unappetizing lunch and continued wandering the park. The number of visitors surged in the afternoon, and since we didn't have a fastpass, we had no choice but to wait in line. We tried a few less-crowded attractions, then queued for Indiana Jones, a ride highly recommended by a friend. Mom found it incredibly thrilling. There were a few sections where it was completely pitch black, which scared me, but she remained completely calm.

I was really scared of the whitewater rafting, so I gave up on queuing. Since I had dinner with a friend that evening and needed to leave early, I queued up to take pictures with Mickey and Minnie, then took the train around the park. That was the end of my Disney trip.

There are huge pumpkins (special dolls for Halloween) in the square after entering the park where you can take photos. If you like it, it is recommended to take photos in advance, otherwise there will be more and more people. When we left the park around 11:30 pm, there were still people queuing to take photos~

Since there are so many games to play, I have listed a few of the most impressive games here and recommend them to everyone~

1. Indiana Jones's Adventure is a scene where you ride a simulated car through the jungle. I recommend it.

2. Splash Mountain: Take a wooden boat ride through the mountains and ride a water roller coaster. It's quite thrilling and highly recommended!

3. Small World: Perfect for children, quiet and peaceful, the park is well-made. It's a great place to sit and relax after enjoying the thrilling rides.

4. Star Tours: I recommend getting an express ticket in advance, as the line can be over an hour. The entire video is about three minutes long, and the visuals are great; a shorter wait would have been much better.

5. Other projects: Pirates of the Caribbean, Disneyland Monorail, and Disneyland Railroad are all relatively large and easy to ride. They are suitable for family outings and are recommended for families with children.

Playing also requires physical strength. I recommend everyone to buy a turkey leg. One is enough for two people to last a whole day. You don’t need to eat the others. The taste is also quite good.

Regarding parking in Disneyland, I must give a detailed introduction, because we wandered around there for a long time before we found the parking lot: Navigate to "Disneyland parking", which is the exclusive parking building of Disneyland. Self-driving cars must park here and then take the free Tram (tram) into the park.

There is a driveway on each floor, and you can drive directly upstairs. Unlike domestic parking buildings, you have to go up one floor at a time after driving in and remember the floor number where you park. When you pick up your car, you take the long escalator that goes directly to each floor.

No matter which floor you park on, be sure to park near Area 9A (the parking areas on one side of the rectangular building are numbered 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9, while the areas on the other side are numbered A, B, C, D, E, F, G, and H, and the numbers are the same on every floor). The escalator downstairs is in Area 9A, which makes walking down the stairs the shortest distance. We parked in Area 5H and walked for a long time before we found the escalator.

After going downstairs, I went through security first. Then I took the tram. It took only a few minutes to get to the entrance of Disneyland.

Tips: You can bring food in, unlike Hong Kong Disneyland where you are not allowed to bring any food in.

I sigh that American children are so lucky. Every weekend, many parents bring their children to Disneyland because they buy annual passes to the park and there won’t be as many people as in China.

Strollers are parked anywhere on the roadside and there is no one to supervise them. You can just come back and pick them up when you are done playing.

At Disneyland, I fully experienced the diversity and inclusiveness of American culture. The women, regardless of size, were confident and cheerful. I even saw a man in a wheelchair, using oxygen, enjoying the joyful atmosphere of Disneyland.

At 9:30, the fireworks display began. Americans actually love fireworks displays, too. Everyone arrived in front of the Sleeping Beauty Castle early, waiting. It was crowded, but not crowded. Everyone stood to watch or take photos, with plenty of space between them, which was a very comfortable feeling.

But just before the show started, the announcement came that it might be cancelled. Halfway through the fireworks, before the climax even began, the announcement came back that due to high-altitude clouds, the show couldn't continue. Everyone had to leave with regret.

Tips: Remember to bring a cup or bottle to drink drinking water.

Disneyland Park in California is divided into two parts: Disneyland and California Adventure. Since we were traveling with children, we naturally chose Disneyland. Disneyland Park in California is the oldest Disneyland and has undergone numerous expansions, resulting in numerous sections. However, none of them are large, and the attractions are very compact. With proper planning, you can easily enjoy most of them in a single day (because the children are afraid, we basically skipped the roller coasters).

Remember to use the Disneyland app; you can get a FastPass on your phone for a small fee. The whole experience was fantastic. If you want to enjoy all the attractions (including California Adventure), it will probably take about three days.

Disneyland in California has tons of trains, a testament to Walt Disney's love of trains. In the waiting area, staff paint on the floor. These details are key to Disneyland's success as the world's premier theme park. It just so happened that during Pixar Days, the month-long parade featured Pixar characters, but it still felt a bit inferior to Disneyland's.

1. Before visiting Disneyland in Los Angeles, be sure to do your research and choose which park you want to visit. Then, be sure to download the app. There are two parks: Disneyland Los Angeles and Disney California Adventure. They enter from opposite sides. I should have chosen Adventure, because I actually fell asleep at Disneyland. They're both too childish for adults.

2. The Disneyland parking lot is also quite large, with several levels, divided into self-parking and valet parking. The self-parking area is open-air, so it can get a bit sunny if you park all day. However, Disneyland has a convenient parking spot where you can enter and exit the park for free with a parking ticket. If you've had enough for the day, you can leave Disneyland for food and drinks and then return for the magic show and fireworks from 8 PM to 10 PM, which is a must-see at Disneyland. After parking, everyone needs to take a free shuttle to the ticket office.

3. The express ticket to Disneyland is not expensive, only $10 per person. This express ticket can only be used to reserve the project and time you want to play on the App. After you finish playing, you can reserve the fast track for the next project.

4. I went to Hong Kong Disneyland many years ago. The entrances of all Disneyland locations around the world look the same, with a lawn slope and a circular train. When visiting Disneyland, both adults and children will have some Disney elements on them, such as Mickey’s ears, Mickey hats, and Mickey T-shirts. Especially the babies, all wearing Cinderella and Snow White costumes, are so into the show. It’s really fun to look at these dolls.

Since they're all geared toward kids, the thrills weren't particularly thrilling. Hahahaha, it truly is a childhood dream destination. Of course, there's a new Haunted Mansion, which is the only attraction in Disneyland that I'm even slightly excited about. I noticed the line was mostly made up of adults. The glasses-free 3D effect is truly amazing.

6. The most adrenaline-filled part of my visit to Disneyland was the float parade. 1-2 hours before the scheduled time, many people started sitting on the roadside to reserve seats, just to get close to the character actors from various Disney cartoons and wave to them.

7. Disney's Mickey Mouse Magic Show and fireworks are absolutely worth seeing. You had to start reserving your spot two hours in advance. Mickey Mouse's Magic Show uses water effects, which is definitely worth the money. The Pirates of the Caribbean ship was also bobbing around the lake, performing acrobatics, and Captain Jack Sparrow was a real eye-catcher. Of course, the princesses and princes from Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, Snow White, and Frozen were all dancing on another boat, which was so romantic. The crowd only left after the fireworks faded. Everyone was so satisfied and moved. The fireworks and magic show were the best! It was worth waiting so late.

During peak season at Hollywood and Disneyland, crowds and lines are often long, meaning you might not be able to enjoy many popular attractions in a day. Before our trip, I read a lot of posts about Disneyland California, including tips on what to do first and what to do later. You can also do some research before your visit. However, we bought the off-season weekday tickets, and we only visited Disneyland, so we just went wherever we wanted.



However, there is a little tip that is quite useful. There is a commercial street outside the park. Don't rush to go there. Wait until the park opens in the morning and go in to play the attractions directly. The commercial street is open until very late at night, so it is not too late to come out and stroll around slowly after the park closes.

At the end of the day, I had already tried all the rides that required a fast pass. It's true that getting a fast pass makes sense; the rides that don't require a line are much more fun than the other rides that do require a line.



Because the main street was under maintenance when we went there, there was no parade during the day and no fireworks show at night.

So I could only watch the Fantasia performance in the evening.

Oh, and a reminder: if you go to take a photo with Mickey, remember to bring your own camera or high-definition phone, and ask the staff to take a photo with their own device. This way you can save $10 for printing the photo.

I was planning to walk through Downtown Disney and enter through the main entrance, but I stumbled upon the Tomorrowland train station, which lets you enter directly. The best part is, you barely have to wait in line! It's a huge time saver. From the train, I could see the long queue at the main entrance... I was so glad I'd already gotten in. The weather was great.

Similar to China, popular attractions will have FPs. FP redemption locations are usually not far from the attraction itself, so ask nearby staff; these locations are often quite hidden. We bought a one-day, two-park ticket. It might have been off-season, but aside from waiting in line for nearly two hours at the Adventure Park race car, most rides took 15-30 minutes. That was because it happened to be broken, so it was out of service for a while, which pushed back a lot of people passing through, so we were so slow. My biggest regret of the trip was that the Adventure Park roller coaster and Ferris wheel were under maintenance, so I didn't get to ride them. I guess I have to go again, haha.

Download the Disney app in advance. You can get a pass for $10 there, but we didn't, but we should have. After entering the park, go to Soar Over the Horizon to get your pass. Then, go to the water ride next to it. Please buy a disposable raincoat from China and keep your feet elevated. Don't ask me why, haha. Then, check the time to play a small ride. Go to Soar Over the Horizon according to your schedule, then queue up for the car races. We were afraid we wouldn't miss the bungee jump. Then, head straight to Disneyland. I personally drove there on May 7, 2018. It was off-season, so the park opened at 9:00 AM (please download the Disneyland app for specific opening times). Google located the Mickey and Friends Parking Structure. We arrived at 8:30 AM and paid $20 cash for the entire day. I asked the staff if we could pay $35 for priority parking, but they said they only had general parking. Following the car in front of you and the staff's instructions, you should drive to your designated parking spot. Generally, cars are parked in order, with no spaces left in between. Remember your parking area and follow the flow of people. After exiting the escalator, you'll see your parking level (Disney typically uses famous characters, like Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck). Follow the signs to the park entrance and take the tram, a multi-car carriage designed like a car. Follow the flow of people to enter the park. One final note: We found it difficult to find the Fast Pass machine each time we entered the park, so we bought a Max Pass on the app ($20 for the two of us). This feature allows you to book a FP pass online without having to change to a FP machine, and then use the FP lane. We were able to do all the popular attractions in one day and not feel tired at all. We thought it would be less crowded during the off-season, but it was still packed, so buying the Max Pass right after entering the park was a real smart move.

Disneyland in Los Angeles is divided into two parts: Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. Disneyland is more suitable for younger guests or those like us who don't enjoy too many thrilling rides. California Adventure Park is more suitable for adults or those who enjoy thrilling rides.

Disneyland consists of eight theme parks: Main Street, Adventureland, New Orleans Square, Animal Kingdom, Pioneerland, Mickey's Toontown, DreamWorks, and Epic. Central Avenue is lined with elegant old-fashioned carriages, quaint shops, restaurants, and teahouses. Getting There: Take MTA bus No. 460 from Figueroa St. in downtown for about 120 minutes. Entering the park a little after 10:00 AM, I spent my days searching for places and waiting in line. On average, I could only get one entry per hour, so by the end, I couldn't tell whether I was still feeling satisfied or disappointed. Since my previous two visits to the park had been disappointing, I'd like to offer a few tips to help future visitors avoid the pitfalls.

1. You can prepare snacks the day before entering the park, because you have to queue up for everything and you may not be able to complete all the activities, so don’t waste time buying things.

2. The second point is also preparation. It is recommended that you download an app from the official website before visiting the park. The app will show the waiting time for each project. You can choose the order of play based on the waiting time.

3. California has plenty of sunshine, and the sun shines brightly from 12 noon to around 4 pm. During this time, you can choose to take some water-related rides. At the same time, you should avoid taking such rides after the sun sets, after all, it is still a bit cold at night.

6. Avoid standing on the main path when watching the fireworks at night. Everyone understands that the main path is centrally located and offers a clear view. However, given the sheer number of visitors, it's impossible for the staff to allow anyone to remain there permanently. Therefore, it's best to find a sidewalk with no obstructions in front of you and ensure you're not blocking traffic.

Some people might stay there early to occupy space, which is fine, but I still hope to play with other things for a while.

7. Friends with strollers should note that when taking the shuttle bus from the Disney parking lot to the park, please wait in the first two rows of each car. The first two rows of seats are facing each other.

Guests staying at a Disney hotel will have an Extra Magic Hour every day during their stay, allowing them to enter the park one hour earlier and into both parks (Disneyland on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and Adventureland on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays).



Some popular attractions in the park offer FastPass (FP), a fast-track entry system. Each ticket allows you to draw only one FP at a time, and each ticket displays the next available time for a FP draw. FastPass tickets typically require no long lines, and you can get in line in just 5-10 minutes.

Let's just say that the 2-day ticket is $199 per person, which I think is totally worth it. We entered the park at 10 am and started playing non-stop until midnight (the park closed late on the day of its 60th anniversary celebration). From the excitement when entering the park to the yawning when leaving the park, it seemed that the two children fell asleep while walking.

With a front-of-the-line ticket, you can enjoy every attraction by mid-afternoon. Afterward, a visit to the Griffith Observatory and the Walk of Fame is a great way to make your itinerary more balanced.
