Grand Canyon National Park

Grand Canyon National Park is one of the seven wonders of the world. It is located in the northwest of Arizona and is divided into two parts: the South Canyon and the North Canyon, each with its own characteristics.
The South Gorge is the most visited route by tourists, and its self-driving road is also very well built; the North Gorge is at a higher altitude, with thinner air, but the sky is clear blue.
Although it is not the deepest canyon in the world, it is undoubtedly the world's largest and most beautiful canyon, and is one of the most worth-seeing national parks in the United States.

Tusayan is very close to the Grand Canyon's South Rim, reaching the park entrance in just a few minutes. After presenting our annual pass, we drove straight ahead and soon arrived at the Grand Canyon Visitor Center parking lot. The main attractions of the Grand Canyon's South Rim are located on the east and west sides of the canyon, marked by the orange and red lines on the official map. The red line requires a shuttle, while the orange line can also be reached by car. Our pre-departure plan called for parking in the Visitor Center parking lot. In the morning, we'd take the shuttle to explore the west side, the red line, and return to the center at noon for a self-drive tour of the east line's viewpoints. Finally, we'd drive directly out of the Grand Canyon's East Gate to Page. At the Visitor Center, we could pick up a map. There was also a small cinema with scheduled screenings of the Grand Canyon, where you could queue up for a free, approximately 10-minute film. After the film, we emerged to find the rain intensifying, mixed with snow, and the fog thickening. Visitors were all donning their ponchos. Despite our concerns, we decided to proceed with our plan to explore the red line. To reach the Red Route scenic area, you must first take the Blue Route bus from the Visitor Center to the Village Route Transfer Station, where you can transfer to the Red Route bus to reach the various attractions. I spent a good while at the souvenir shop, buying a 1,000-piece Grand Canyon jigsaw puzzle as a solace. I'll go home and recreate the beauty of the Grand Canyon myself. After waiting for a long time, the heavy rain and fog showed no sign of abating. I decided to head east to explore the self-drive attractions. If this continued, I'd just have to drive straight to Page. Although I'd personally visited the renowned Grand Canyon, I hadn't seen its true beauty. I was so frustrated! Alas, I had to accept the reality of not having a permit. Finally, I checked the real-time weather forecast: heavy rain and thunderstorms all day, with no sign of improvement. It turned out that the thunderclouds we saw yesterday were headed for the entire Grand Canyon. The Grand Canyon was enveloped in a massive, thick cloud layer, and the canyon was shrouded in rain and fog. As we drove more than ten miles, gradually moving away from the center of the Grand Canyon, the rain gradually subsided and the sky began to clear. Suddenly, I spotted a massive, cliff-like viewing platform on the canyon side of the highway, with a number of cars parked inside. This platform overlooked the fading edge of the Grand Canyon. This might be the last chance to capture a corner of the canyon, and it's also the last viewpoint outside the Grand Canyon Park. Thankfully, I didn't miss it. While I didn't get to see the entire canyon, I did get a last, stunning glimpse of it! It was a small recompense for those who missed out on the entirety of the canyon.

The Grand Canyon is divided into the West Rim and the South Rim. We went to the South Rim. We bought an annual pass for $80 at the park entrance, which allowed two signatures. At the South Rim shuttle bus fare counter, a map and Chinese guide were provided.

The Grand Canyon South Rim can be hiked over two days: the Red Route on the first day and the Blue Route on the second. The Red Route is only accessible by free bus, so you can't drive. No need to do any research; any stop you can park at is a highlight. Note that there are only three stops on the return trip. On the second day, you can drive the Blue Route, and the most popular spots are the ones you see with lots of traffic. In the afternoon, follow the scenic highway through the park toward the East Gate and visit the Orange Route viewpoints.

Desert View is the most important scenic spot on the east side. Its landmark building is a brick tower where visitors can climb up and have a panoramic view. There is a platform around the tower where you can take photos of the winding Colorado River.

As for the tour routes, I can summarize them into two:

Route 1

Hermit Road → Desert View Road

Drive into the park from the south gate, pick up maps and materials at the visitor center, then drive to the parking lot near the Hermit Rest Route Transfer and take the red line bus from the west end of Hermit Rest Road to the east for a self-driving tour.

Route 2

Desert Scenic Road → Hermit Road

Go the other way around and arrive at Pima Point on the Red Line at sunset to watch the sunset before leaving. (Please check the Red Line return schedule in advance.)

Route 2 is more suitable for photography enthusiasts and is better for taking sunset photos. Most tourists only have one day to visit the Grand Canyon, so if you want to take sunset photos, you can consider Route 2.

Of course, we took the regular route 1 because it was cloudy that day and it didn't look like the sun would shine, so it was good that it didn't rain.

If you take the regular route, you can drive to the visitor center to get a map. The GPS signal in the park is weak, so you basically have to rely on the map and the navigation is useless.

After getting the map, we walked to a nearby scenic spot: Mather Point.

The first point shocked me and the Rain God.

Many scenic spots do not have railings, which shows that Americans are very generous and are not afraid of tourists falling. However, many tourists are not afraid of death and will stand wherever there is danger.

Before we got off the bus, the driver repeatedly reminded us not to stand in dangerous places, as our lives were at risk!

We actually hiked the red line from Powell Point to Hpoi Point. It was quite tiring and we immediately decided to take the shuttle bus to the next point.

There is a small shop at the end of the Hermit Road, where you can also see the entire Grand Canyon.

Tips

1. If you get up late, the parking lot at the main gate is almost full, but you can actually consider parking at any parking spot on the blue line, as there are shuttle buses anyway;

2. It is best to bring your own water. Although there are water points, not every tap has water.

3. The scenery of Hermit Rest Route and Desert View is similar. If your energy and time are limited, choose Hermit.

4. You can drive yourself to explore the area in the order of the red line, blue line, and yellow line.

When you arrive at the Grand Canyon Visitor Center, you can sit down and watch a dome movie, which is actually a documentary about the formation, discovery and protection of the Grand Canyon. No matter where you sit on the spherical screen, the movie can be perfectly presented in front of you.

Following the advice of online experts, I planned to take the scenic area bus and change from the blue line to the red line. But when I got on the bus, I found out that the red line was closed. I don’t know if it was because of special circumstances today or because it was the off-season. To see the scenic spots, you have to drive or hike.

The wind was extremely strong on the mountain, so you should always have warm clothes in the car. There were not many people in the scenic area, and there were not many cars. We walked and stopped. The places where we could stop were the stops for the red line bus. There was only one road, so we just walked along it. We stopped when we wanted to see the scenery, and moved on to the next destination directly.

I finally understand the travelogues that say no matter how many photos you've seen, once you stand before the Grand Canyon, you'll still be struck by its majesty. The myriad ravines and gullies before me perfectly illustrate the wonders of nature. The colors of the Grand Canyon change dramatically depending on the cloud cover and lighting conditions.

The Grand Canyon is very large, and the viewpoints seem close to each other, but it still takes about 5 minutes by car, and it may take about 15 minutes to walk. However, there are few trees around to block the view, and the sunlight is very strong. Tourists like us who are just visiting here need to conserve our energy and should not try hiking easily.

The Grand Canyon South Rim tour is simply divided into three parts: the Red, Blue, and Orange routes. Shuttle buses run for all three routes, but the buses are all the same color, so you'll need to read the signs. The Blue Route is accessible by car, while the Red and Orange Route are bus-only. There are also many hiking trails at the bottom of the canyon, and many Americans hike them with backpacks and walking sticks. Next time, if I have the chance, I hope to hike a trail and experience the beauty of the Grand Canyon from a different perspective.

Our itinerary was to enter from the South Gate, exit from the East Gate, and then stay in Page at night. We arrived at the Grand Canyon around 11 o'clock. Time was limited and we couldn't watch the sunrise and sunset, so we decided to focus on the red line, then get a car and see how to play the rest of the route based on the situation.

The red line is called the Hermit Road. I did not get off the bus at the last one or two points, but I got off at all the other points. To be honest, these viewpoints are similar, mainly to appreciate the Grand Canyon from different angles.

The South Rim is divided into two parts: the South Rim and the North Rim. The South Rim is generally more popular with tourists and has a relatively flat terrain, making it easy for tourists to visit. The North Rim, on the other hand, is much more rugged and can only be visited by a special sightseeing helicopter.

Take a quiet hike down to the canyon floor and explore the hidden gems of the Grand Canyon. The canyon is home to a wealth of wildlife and reptiles, and a chance encounter would surely enrich your trip!

We spent the whole morning exploring the area, and we were practically exhausted. We had already fully appreciated the natural gifts of this unique landscape.

It’s not just big, it’s super big!

No one has ever seen the entire Grand Canyon, and we have only seen a quarter of it.

One of the highlights of the Grand Canyon: red rocks.

Those neatly arranged red rocks look like pieces of braised pork or thousand-layer cake.

The second attraction of the Grand Canyon: the abyss.

The canyon's largest drop is 1.5 kilometers, roughly the height of a 500-story building. It's easily enough to hold two Jinmao Towers. With my encouragement, several members approached the cliff edge to experience the canyon's depth, and were deeply moved.

The third attraction of the Grand Canyon: cute animals.

The animals in Grand Canyon National Park are quite friendly, as you can tell from the park's ecology. Squirrels abound, hopping up to people and begging for food. They're responsible for being adorable here. Besides these adorable squirrels, there are also wild deer roaming the woods. "Deer Ahead" signs are often seen along the roads in Grand Canyon National Park.

I heard that the Grand Canyon can experience four seasons in one day. I don't know if it's like that year-round. In the winter, I'm afraid the only difference is snow and hail. But we did experience the four seasons.

Although you have to find a place to hide from the rain all the time, the rainbow will appear at any time.

Grand Canyon attraction number four: sunrise and sunset.

The Grand Canyon is naturally at its most beautiful at sunrise and sunset. Why? Besides the expansive views, the red rocks are incredibly beautiful in the golden sunlight—rosy, you know? Add a touch of mist to the canyon, and it's like a paradise on earth.

Therefore, you must not miss it. It will be dark within a few minutes after watching the sunset.

Don't worry, the park's shuttle bus will take tourists back to the visitor center. In the evening, these buses are usually packed with people and there is a queue to get on the bus.

If you miss the sunset, you can still see the sunrise the next morning. Of course, the pain is that you need to get up early. But one advantage of getting up early is that the Grand Canyon Park staff haven't arrived yet, so no one will collect the entrance fee.

The air was exceptionally fresh in the morning. The Grand Canyon, looking over at it, seemed a bit lighter than yesterday. It was quite relaxing to sit quietly on a rock for a while.

By Adrian.Z |

There are so many beautiful pictures and video introductions that we actually have a basic idea of what many attractions look like before arriving, and the sense of surprise and shock gradually decreases.

But please believe me, the shock brought by the Grand Canyon will not be reduced at all, because it is far beyond what photos can express. Standing on the edge of the Grand Canyon, the sense of grandeur is beyond words. My camera can only record one thousandth of its beauty.

The fatigue from driving disappeared after seeing the Grand Canyon.

Driving into the Grand Canyon, the fee for private cars is US$35 per car, which should be a price increase (it used to be US$30).

The southern section of the canyon, known as the South Rim, has two scenic highways: Hermit Road to the west and Desert View Drive to the east. Since I was heading to Page, I took the easterly route. There are areas at the south end of the Grand Canyon where cell phone service is lacking. We had a GPS as a backup for navigation, but it turned out to be perfectly adequate. The road here is simple and easy to navigate.

Driving along the scenic highway, the road signs are clear, and there are signs at every viewpoint, and parking is available. Some areas have small areas on the roadside where you can stop and take photos, and some well-known viewpoints have dedicated parking lots. With more than 5 million tourists visiting the Grand Canyon South each year, the parking lots are usually full, and finding a spot requires patience.

By Mannibaby |

A leisurely stroll, stopping here and there! Actually, the scenery at each stop is pretty much the same—it's all Grand Canyon, but the perspectives vary. Different viewpoints offer distinct natural formations, all very striking. If you enjoy natural scenery, it's worth staying a few days longer; exploring deeper might yield even more!

By zeze |

I can't describe how awe-inspiring I felt. Photos can't capture its beauty, and too many adjectives would make it seem cheesy. When we went, there weren't many tourists left, and I felt like I had a vast expanse of space to explore. The typical tour involves several routes, and many people spend a full day exploring the rocks. A magnificent sunset over the Grand Canyon. The light casts a dreamlike golden hue on the rocks. It was a beautiful sunset, the wind was strong, and everything was beautiful. It was truly magnificent, the sun tinting the rocks with a golden glow.

By Sky traces flowing clouds |

The first sight of it is absolutely stunning, with its rolling, undulating, and magnificent landscape, a true work of nature. However, after visiting the more than 20 viewpoints along the east and west lines of the Grand Canyon (South Rim), you'll start to experience aesthetic fatigue, as the scenery is so homogenized.

It is said that the most beautiful viewing moments are at sunrise and sunset. However, one thing to note is that the temperature difference between day and night in the canyon area is large. It is best to wear a down jacket to watch the sunrise in the autumn morning in October, otherwise you will be frozen to death.

By Run fast, run fast |

I was very excited before going there, and I was shocked when I first saw it, but after two days of walking around, I felt that they all looked the same from every angle. I still think Bryce and Zion are more to my taste.

By Bessie |

Since the beginning of March, the Red and Orange Route scenic routes have been closed to vehicles, with the park's free shuttle bus available. The Orange Route departs from the Visitor Center, while the Red Route departs from the village. The two routes are separate.

Perhaps due to evaporation and the temperature difference between day and night, the clarity and visibility of the scenery in the morning is much better than in the afternoon. The Red Line shuttle was very quiet around 8 AM, and the observation decks were also mostly empty. By 10 AM, the Red Line line had become crowded.

If you're going in winter or early spring, you should check the weather forecast. When we went, it had already snowed for over a week, and the roadsides were still quite thick with snow. I imagine it would affect travel if it snows.

The downhill trail is covered with ice and snow, so you need to wear anti-slip shoes when hiking.

The lodges in the park are average, and don't even have microwaves! But at least staying inside the park saves time getting there (driving from the nearest town to the red line shuttle takes at least half an hour).

In addition to having a good time in the city, you can of course also spend some time with nature.

Because I have been to all the national parks before, this time I chose the Grand Canyon West route, which is closest to Vegas and has a glass plank road.

The one-way trip takes about two hours, and you can pass the Hoover Dam on the way. Other places like Death Valley take at least 3.5 hours, which feels a bit too far and not enough time for a round trip in one day. Anyway, we just want to get closer to nature, so we decided on the route without too much hesitation.

The west line of the Grand Canyon has an entrance with a starting point. Everyone parks their car here and then buys a ticket to take the bus. It is not a purely self-driving trip.

You are not allowed to bring your cell phone or any camera equipment when you go up the glass plank road. Firstly, they can charge you to take pictures, and secondly, it is so small! I think if people can take pictures casually and take pictures of such a small glass plank road, people may not be willing to pay $25 to go up and see it.

I don't have too many tips. The only thing I want to say is that you should eat a full meal in the morning because it will be difficult to find food along the way.

By AzureFlame |

The Grand Canyon was the first national park on my trip, so I bought an annual pass at the entrance for $80. After purchasing, I had to sign the pass. Upon entering the park, I was asked to present my passport and pass for verification. This pass grants unlimited entry to all national parks in the US (though not to Indian reservations like Antelope Canyon) as long as the group of four or fewer adults (children are allowed). We later used it to visit Glen Canyon National Park, Arches National Park, Yellowstone National Park, and Grand Teton National Park, repeatedly entering and exiting several parks and saving a lot of money on entrance fees. We had originally planned to visit Yosemite National Park, but after visiting so many national parks, my family didn't want to go any further, so we didn't make full use of the pass.

As for the Grand Canyon, if you're traveling with a large family, head straight to the South Rim. After all, it's the most iconic and perfect for both young and old. First, take the Blue Route bus from the South Rim Visitor Center to the Village Route Transfer station, where you'll return to the end point. (There's a drop-off point at this station, but it doesn't go all the way down to the canyon floor, so the visual distance isn't very far. We didn't go down with the elderly and children, but we recommend the walk.) From there, transfer to the Red Route bus. The Red Route offers the most iconic views, but getting off at every stop and then waiting for the bus is time-consuming, so it's better to choose a few stops.

Bring plenty of water with you on your tour; it's hot in the sun, so you'll need water. Keep empty bottles. At Hermits Rest, at the end of the Red Line, you can get drinking water and there are restrooms. On your way back, there's an express Blue Line bus from the Village Route Transfer Station, where the Red and Blue Lines meet, back to the Visitor Center. It's recommended to take the express bus, as it will take you past more stops on the way back than on the way in.

The Orange Line also has many good attractions, but you can drive there (the Red Line section is not open to private cars), and the road from the visitor center to our next stop, Page, happens to be the Orange Line, which was convenient for us. We happened to take pictures of the sunset over the Grand Canyon from the Orange Line's viewing point.

Important! Important! Important! There's no cell phone signal here, at least not on AT&T phones. If you're driving, be sure to download offline maps for your next destination in advance. We weren't expecting no signal, so we ended up asking for directions several times at the Grand Canyon (from staff at the South Gate and then from tourists along the way) before we finally found Page's directions and drove straight to the destination.

There are deer in the Grand Canyon. When we were driving, we encountered a deer running onto the road. So you have to be careful when driving and don’t drive too fast. It’s not good to hurt either the deer or the car.

The breathtaking blue sky divides the canyon's flat edge. If the abyss below were a bottomless abyss, it wouldn't be a geological wonder. Instead, small, independent hills are closely spaced, yet they don't rise above the sides. Their colors gradually fade from top to bottom, red at the top and gray at the bottom. The color shift is not chaotic, but rather follows a consistent horizontal line. Between the two canyons, countless peaks and ravines crisscross the valley floor, while the Colorado River flows through the low valley floor. As the saying goes: "The work of nature is beyond mortal reach."

Standing at the edge of the canyon, the wind was biting cold. Looking down, I still couldn't find any trace of the river, it was bottomless. Looking straight ahead, I saw that one side of the canyon was free of snow, while the mountain top on the other side was covered in white. This is a view that cannot be seen in other seasons.

The park charges a per-car fee, though it's free in winter. The small town of Tusayan, located at the park entrance, acts as a sort of refueling station. After watching the sunset, you can stay there to watch the sunrise the next morning. This is key: be sure to refuel in Tusayan before entering the Grand Canyon. You might get lost somewhere.

By Huahua |

It's very big and can be played for two days. The helicopter experience is superb!

By frozen rice |

In winter, it was -10 degrees outside, there was snow, and it was very windy. The sunrise was beautiful!

By Meghan |

Tickets are charged per car, $35 per car, and you can enter and exit freely within seven days.

There is a bus stop next to the parking lot not far from the entrance to the park, where you can get on the Orange Line, Blue Line, and Purple Line.

The weather in the canyon is so unpredictable. Even the southern kids who have seen snow are still very happy.

Advice: If you like nature and animals, stay at the Grand Canyon for a day!

By Eat potatoes with a heart that never changes |

The two most famous tourist spots in Grand Canyon National Park are located on the South Rim and the West Rim. Since we only had two days, it was impossible to drive to the Grand Canyon and visit both sides. In the end, we chose the South Rim, which has preserved the original appearance of the canyon billions of years ago, for a day of sightseeing.

Looking at the Grand Canyon that was formed and evolved billions of years ago, I wondered if this might be the true meaning of the relationship between nature and us humans.

We drove to the Grand Canyon and had the option of continuing to drive through the national park or taking the park's sightseeing line. Some viewpoints were only accessible via the park's sightseeing line, so after parking our car, we opted to take the sightseeing line at the visitor center.

There are four sightseeing lines, and the most worthwhile ones are the Blue and Orange lines. They stop at every station, so you can get off and explore at any time, then wait for the next bus to continue or return. The guidebook will also tell you which viewpoints have the best views. I actually saw beautiful views everywhere, just from different angles.

There are two large visitor centers in the park, with a selection of restaurants, cafes, bookstores, and souvenir shops nearby.

The Grand Canyon area is at a high latitude, so the sunset is relatively late, around 5 o'clock. Find a viewpoint in advance and watch the entire sunset process quietly. The scenery of hundreds of millions of years is completely presented before your eyes. What are the anxieties in life?

We bought an annual pass for $80 per car, which allowed four people to enter the national parks for a year. Later, when we returned to China, we actually sold it online. So, in other words, our national park tickets in the United States only cost $40, which is less than 300 RMB.

The Grand Canyon consists of South, West, and North Rim. This time, we chose the South Rim. Upon entering the South Rim toll booth, we were given a map and a Chinese guide. We drove around the park for a while before finding our accommodations. We parked in the Visitor Center parking lot, checked in, and decided to take the Blue Route. We didn't know this route was accessible by car, but we'd have driven around to save time waiting for buses. The Blue Route, the Village Route, primarily passes through the park's hotels, restaurants, and other amenities. The Red Route, the Hermits Rest Route, goes to the west, while the Orange Route, the Kaibab/Rim Route, goes to the east. The Red and Blue Route interchange at Grand Canyon Village. We quickly visited most of the attractions on the Blue Route and then quickly returned to the interchange to catch the Red Route. The Red Route route is not accessible by car; you can only take a bus. Take the Blue Route to the end and then transfer to the Red Route. It is worth noting that if the arrow at the red line station on the map is not bidirectional, then this station is one-way. There are many viewing points in the Grand Canyon National Park. In fact, the overall landscape is similar at different viewing points, so I don’t recommend that you stay too long. Just go to the best point before sunrise. After watching the most beautiful sunrise, you can go directly to Las Vegas or other places.

The recommended sunrise spots are Yavapai Viewpoint or the Observation Tower. Choosing one of these two places will give you the best view of the sunrise. We didn't catch the sunrise, so we visited all the viewpoints and only went back in the evening after watching the sunset. Basically, I felt that all the spots were not cost-effective. After all, in the United States, time is money!

The magnificent Grand Canyon is vast and boundless, but what impressed me more was the feeling of driving on the lonely road in Arizona. There were basically no cars, only myself and the world. It was infinitely vast, infinitely free, and infinitely lonely, but not lonely. Instead, it became more and more peaceful.

By Yu Laobei |

I later learned that many tourists said that the West Gorge we visited was not the real Grand Canyon of Colorado, but a canyon area managed by Indians.

The entire scenic area is staffed by white people, who reap the benefits annually by collecting rent. It's one of the attractions you'll visit on tours from Los Angeles to Las Vegas. It's equally beautiful, though. Next time, I'll try the South Rim, which is accessible by car. The North Rim is accessible, but it's less developed and a bit inconvenient to access.

Here, you can explore the Grand Canyon by water, land, and air. Of course, boat and air travel are additional fees. We chose to walk the entire scenic area. Entering the scenic area requires a shuttle bus, which takes you to three attractions. You can get off at each attraction and wait for the next shuttle bus to pick you up. The first attraction is the man-made Indian West World.

We could have done some horseback riding and other small activities, but it was too hot and no one wanted to stay outdoors. We only saw a bored salesperson in the souvenir shop.

There are neat plains and neat rift valleys. Most of the rocks are red. From the bottom of the valley to the top, there are rock layers from the Cambrian to the Cenozoic. The layers are clear and the colors are different. It contains representative biological fossils from various geological ages. It is a "living textbook of geological history", so it is one of the seven wonders of the world.

Grand Canyon National Park is the most popular park in the West. Despite its heavy traffic (over 4 million visitors annually), it's just a small part of the southern edge of the Colorado Plateau, where vast wilderness remains. If you hike with gear, you're more likely to see coyotes, mule deer, and rattlesnakes than humans. In the heart of the plateau, the Colorado, Green, and San Juan rivers collaborate to carve a maze of landforms, creating a magnificent and diverse wilderness.

As I slowly drove the helicopter into the canyon, the entire picture of this scar on the earth appeared before my eyes without any cover. I was moved, solemn, and filled with awe for nature.

By TravelKay |

This is a must-see place in the US, and you should hike down to the bottom of the canyon for a truly unique view. It does get a bit cold in the fall, though.

By Fuzzy |

It is very majestic and spectacular, especially the experience of flying in the canyon by helicopter is great.

The ticket price for the Grand Canyon is per car, not per person. Our business class ticket is $50 per car.

No matter how many beautiful scenery you have seen, or how many famous mountains and rivers you have seen, when you stand in the Grand Canyon, the beauty is simply legendary and really shocking!

Area: Grand Canyon National Park is divided into three main tourist areas: South Rim, North Rim, and West Rim.

North Rim: It is only open from May to October each year. It is 300-400 meters higher than the South Rim. The air is thinner and there is no public transportation, so there are fewer tourists.

South Rim: Self-driving tourists generally choose the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. The roads at the South Rim are well-maintained, and the supporting facilities are more complete, making it convenient to visit.

By Shell Shell |

The entrance to the North Rim is located at a different location. The West Rim is Indian territory and is off-limits to tourists. The North Rim is higher, but the most developed and busiest part of the route is the South Rim. With the exception of the Desert View route, we took the park bus instead of driving within the park. This avoids the problem of parking along the way, and it proved to be the easiest and most time-efficient route. Driving yourself would have been inconvenient, as stopping at each attraction wasn't always easy. The park bus was quite nice, and the drivers were friendly and welcoming. The journey from one point to another wasn't far at all, only about 5-10 minutes. Although I'd seen photos in other travelogues, I was still blown away by the scenery. I marveled at the sheer beauty of nature. If it hadn't been a bit overcast, I'm sure it would have been even more spectacular! We took plenty of photos, and my dad even managed to grab a selfie stick. We didn't get off at every stop, and I didn't think it was necessary. Some of the scenery was similar, and some didn't offer good viewing angles. For the red route, we got off at about five stops. There is a 15-minute interval between each bus, which is just enough time for you to walk around and take photos before taking the next bus to the next observation point, Lookout.

There's not much to see along the blue line, as you can see from the map. It's not near the Grand Canyon's observation rim, so it's mainly restaurants, hotels, and banks. The orange line is divided into two lines, left and right. You need to take different buses. The left one goes to Mather Point.

One thing to note is that the lines on the Grand Canyon map aren't actually proportional to distance. The red line looks far away, but it's only about 20 minutes. The orange line only takes 15 minutes, while the Desert View route takes a full 40 minutes one way, so I was a little worried about whether I'd make it in time.

The Grand Canyon is not a scenic spot, but a canyon that stretches across most of the state of Arizona.

The entrance fee is $35 per car and should be valid for 7 days. All accommodations in the Grand Canyon Scenic Area need to be booked in advance on the official website. I booked it 10 months in advance. Remember to book it early.

There are two common signs throughout the scenic area: one warning against stealing food from wild animals and keeping them wild; the other warning against lightning and thunder. The Grand Canyon is a minefield, and the experience was truly breathtaking. Our trip to the Grand Canyon was quite full, as we saw sunset, sunrise, bright sunshine, and even dark clouds. We were truly lucky to see all four sides in one day.

By tin_tin |

I originally thought I entered the Grand Canyon from the South Gate, but later found out from the map that I entered from the Desert View Road. Technically, this is the East Gate, and there aren't many cars. This section is called Desert View Road, and there's no parking lot until Yapi Point, making it a good road for self-driving. However, it's difficult to find parking at some of the viewpoints, especially on Saturdays.

The Grand Canyon National Park is arguably the most popular national park in the western United States, aside from Yellowstone. Compared to other national parks, Grand Canyon National Park also boasts the most comprehensive facilities. There are two tour routes throughout the Grand Canyon: the South Rim Trail and the North Rim Trail. The North Rim is generally better suited for helicopter viewing of the canyon's magnificent scenery. Self-driving tours often opt for the South Rim route.

My son had no interest in the Grand Canyon. For adults, if you don't have a hiking plan, you can only plan half a day for the Grand Canyon. While the first sight is truly stunning, as you walk along, seeing canyon after canyon, you'll quickly become visually fatigued. But if you don't visit the Grand Canyon in Arizona, you'll regret it.

By zhuihaomfw |

This was the second national park we visited on this trip. It was such a relief to be able to enter directly after showing our annual pass at the checkpoint. However, the best parking spots were already taken at that time, so we had to park in a parking lot further from the visitor center and then walk to the bus stop. Grand Canyon National Park is located on the south rim of the canyon. If you're not exploring the canyon floor by foot, you'll usually only consider the west and east routes, which offer a northerly view of the canyon from the cliff edge. The west route doesn't allow private vehicles, so you can only take the park's free shuttle bus, hike, or bike. The east route allows you to drive to various scenic spots. Then, we embarked on a torturous Grand Canyon hike under the scorching sun. Starting from west to east, we passed Pima Point, Monument Creek Vista, The Abyss, and finally reached Mohave Point (written as Mojave on our pocket map), where we boarded the red bus for the return trip. The hike took over three hours and covered 8 kilometers, with stops and stops under the scorching sun. Although exhausting, it was also a joy. I was incredibly pleased with my helicopter ride, but I was a bit disappointed that I hadn't made it to the Grand Canyon's East Route, as I'd originally planned. I checked the weather and saw that sunset was still some way off, so I rushed to Grandview Point (literally, "spectacular viewpoint"), one of the main viewpoints on the Grand Canyon's East Route, before dark to capture the sunset. Unfortunately, daylight ran out soon after we set off, so I quickly found a roadside stop with a U-turn. When I got out, I realized I was still a step too late. Clouds obscured the view to the west, and the last rays of sunset failed to illuminate the Grand Canyon's rock formations. I only caught a glimpse of pale pink clouds.

Later I looked at the map and found out that the place where I parked was also a small tourist attraction called Duck On A Rock Viewpoint.

We stayed there until 18:40, and there was basically nothing left to take pictures of, so we got in the car and headed to Grandview Point. All that was left for me were the dark clouds that had faded away in the sky, and the brightest star, blinking in the night sky.

By Humid, hot, sunny |

We were ready to enter the Grand Canyon National Park at 9:00. The entrance fee was 35 yuan, so be sure to have some change. I gave them 100 yuan, but they said they couldn't make the change, so I ended up using a credit card. They gave you a map when you entered, but since there was no signal once you entered the park, you had to use the offline map.

The Grand Canyon is now divided into three routes: the Red Route, the Blue Route, and the Yellow Route. If time is limited, I recommend visiting the Red Route directly. Private cars are not allowed on the Red Route, so it can only be visited by bus. The Red Route is also the highlight of the Grand Canyon. Accommodation areas are generally concentrated along the Blue Route.

The significance of each station on the red line is to see the Grand Canyon from different angles.

By Watercolor car and Melaleuca |

We stayed in a small town near the Grand Canyon that day. The Grand Canyon is indeed a miracle of nature. God took 2 billion years to carve this work. Compared with human history, even a moment is too long to describe human civilization.

By Peipei Nanjing |

We checked out at 5:30 and headed straight to the Grand Canyon for sunrise, which occurred around 6:10. We didn't see any other cars along the way, so we assumed the navigation had misdirected us. Upon arrival, we realized we were late... The only downside was that the best photo spots were already occupied. The morning was incredibly cold, and even a down jacket was enough; my teeth were chattering. Gradually, a crimson glow appeared in the east, expanding and growing ever redder. Suddenly, the sun crested the horizon, illuminating the Grand Canyon with a dazzling display of beauty. It was truly breathtaking, and humans seemed insignificant in the face of nature.

By Kimi is undeterred by wind and rain |

You can drive or take the canyon bus inside the Grand Canyon, but private cars are not allowed on the red bus line. After checking into our lodge, we immediately asked the staff about sunset views. The recommended options were mostly along the red bus line. While waiting for the bus, we encountered a wandering deer. We continued east along the yellow line, exploring and walking until we exited the Grand Canyon. The South Kalbab trailhead also happened to be the starting point for a trail, so taking my parents on a short hike to experience the winding mountain trail was another great way to get closer to nature.

By The other side, flowers bloom |

We chose the South Canyon of the Grand Canyon. One reason is that the route is smoother this way, and more importantly, compared to the West Canyon, I feel that the South Canyon can better reflect the grandeur of the Grand Canyon's natural scenery.

At the park entrance, I bought an annual national park pass for $80 per car. From then on, I could enter and exit all the national parks along the way as many times as I wanted! In addition, there are 58 national parks in the United States (as long as I can walk to them), so I can visit them all year round.

In addition, at the park entrance, staff will provide you with a park map, and you can choose the Chinese version.

After the whole trip, I found that the various signs on the map of the Grand Canyon National Park can be said to be the clearest and most concise. They include information about the four-color shuttle bus, the characteristics of different attractions, the time schedule, etc., which can be very conveniently arranged according to your own time.

The Grand Canyon National Park shuttle buses come in four colors: red, yellow, blue, and purple. While it might seem confusing at first, it's easy to get used to. Private cars aren't allowed on the red Hermitage Route and parts of the yellow route, so you can hop on and off as you please, saving you the hassle of finding parking.

The red and yellow lines are located on the east and west sides of the park respectively. They are the main attractions that need to be visited. You can take the shuttle bus to get on and off at any time along the way; the blue line is in the middle, mainly responsible for connecting the red and yellow sections, as well as various hotels and service areas in the park; and the purple line is responsible for connecting the park and the town of Tusayan.

We first took the yellow route to the best viewing point in Chaoyang to watch the sunset... However, it turns out that for non-professional photographers, the Grand Canyon at any location is enough to make us amazed at the first sight, and photos are really not enough to show the changes in light and shadow under the sunset.

By Dolphin |

You cannot drive in by yourself because it seems that Xixia is also the territory of the Indians, so you can only take the public bus they provide to enter.

There are three stations inside. The first station is the horse riding field, the second station is Eagle Rock, and the third station is Bat Rock.

There is no repaired path for people to walk on Bat Rock, so you can only climb up by yourself. There is a deep abyss on one side, which looks a bit scary. But standing on the top, the view is really spectacular.

The second stop is Eagle Rock, which really looks like an eagle! It was at this moment that I was amazed at the wonders of nature.

There are three tour routes in the South Rim Grand Canyon: the red line, the blue line, and the yellow line. The red line, Hermit Road, is closed to private cars from March 1 to November 30 and requires a shuttle. The blue line is in Canyon Village, and the yellow line is on the east side of the canyon and leads to Highway 64 at the east gate. The landform is very unique and it is recommended to watch the sunrise and sunset.

By Li Xiaozhu wants to lose weight |

You can see the red canyon landform. The park covers a vast area. Looking at the vast canyon land is still very shocking.

I won’t introduce the Grand Canyon in detail, as I think everyone knows it. It’s one of the most famous national parks in the United States and a must-see! Especially watching the sunset here is so magnificent that it leaves you speechless!

The Colorado River created the Grand Canyon. Standing on the top of the canyon and looking into the distance, looking at the now quiet Colorado River, the silent canyon makes people think continuously.

By Uncle Erqi |

The South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park offers two tourist routes: Hermit Trail and Desert View Drive. As planned, we had to brave the strong wind and heavy snow to explore Hermit Trail in the afternoon. The snow was fine, but the wind was too cold. Furthermore, the fog was so thick that many viewpoints were completely invisible. Fortunately, the wind soon cleared some of the fog, revealing a glimpse of the Grand Canyon's beauty. Our perseverance in exploring the snow and wind was truly worth it.

The weather was good the next day, and I saw a Grand Canyon that was completely different from yesterday. It was magnificent and I felt the wonders of nature.

The magnificent and ever-changing Grand Canyon Park.

By Daddy Wu |

It's very large and has many entrances, but the roads between them are not fully connected. The West Rim and North Rim are close to Las Vegas, while the South Rim, which is where we are going, has more beautiful views but is also relatively far away.

There's a toll booth at the entrance to the Grand Canyon. If you're driving, you're charged per vehicle: $25 for a sedan and $30 for an SUV. They'll record the number of people in the car. You'll then be given a sticker to put on the left side of the driver's windshield. This sticker allows you to enter and exit the Grand Canyon for seven days. If you're not driving, you'll be charged per person, but I've never seen anyone enter without a car...

Upon entering the Grand Canyon, you can park your car in the Visitor Center parking lot and then take a shuttle bus to the scenic viewpoints. There are three shuttle bus routes, and if you're pressed for time, we recommend the Orange Line, which is shorter and closer. The Grand Canyon's scenic viewpoints are quite fascinating, with some accessible by bus and car, others only by bus, and still others requiring a car. If you have time, be sure to watch the Grand Canyon sunrise and sunset – they're absolutely worth it!

By Fairy tales of stars |

After reading a lot of reviews online, they all said that the scenery at the South Rim was better than the West Rim, so I chose the South Rim.

The helicopter ride was a $230 optional extra on the tour group. However, booking it on the Papillon Grand Canyon Helicopters website was only $200. I was a little concerned because of a helicopter accident at the Grand Canyon earlier this year. Seeing that this company has over 50 years of experience put me at ease.

The propellers were so loud that even two people facing each other couldn't hear a single sound. Headphones blocked out the noise, allowing us to talk and listen to the introductions. Although the program was available in Chinese, we chose English because we saw three French passengers on the same flight. Unexpectedly, it later played in French. The Grand Canyon is one of the Seven Wonders of the World, amazing! Perhaps it's because of Antelope Canyon, but when I saw photos of it on WeChat Moments, it always overshadowed the Grand Canyon.

When you drive into the gate, swipe your card to buy your ticket.

It costs $35 per car, as long as it is a private car with seven seats or less, no matter how many people are in the car.

When you buy a ticket, you will be given a detailed Chinese map, which is very convenient~

Drive the car to the parking lot and walk a few steps to the visitor center.

There are various shuttle buses to various viewing platforms~

There are three shuttle bus lines: Yellow Line, Blue Line, and Red Line

The yellow line and the red line mainly connect various viewing points

The blue line area is mainly living and accommodation area

The three lines are connected by stations, which is very convenient.

The Grand Canyon is truly the pride of the American people. Every American I met on the road was full of pride when talking about the Grand Canyon.

There is a small geological museum in the park that introduces the origin and geographical conditions of the Grand Canyon, and there are also cute souvenirs for sale.

I bought my daughter a hat and a vest with pockets all over it.

At Yaki Point, I found a really cool viewpoint. It's a triangular rock that extends outwards. Sitting on it, you can see the canyon hundreds of meters below. It's so cool!

I sat here almost all afternoon, waiting for the sunset~

In a place like this, listening to the wind, there will be a lot of thoughts~

Many fragments kept flashing through my mind

Running at the school sports meeting

Dozing off in front of the computer while working overtime late at night

The touching moment when my daughter just called me dad

Those subtle, unexpected emotional fluctuations

In this environment, it has given new meaning.

The sun gradually set and the young people took photos and left.

On the contrary, the elderly foreign couples just found a stone to sit on, leaning against each other and watching the sunset quietly.

In the Grand Canyon, I actually saw the appearance of love~

As I continued to think about life,

Suddenly, an old white lady who had been standing behind me called me,

I walked over and she showed me her phone.

It turns out she took a super cool photo for me, and she kept saying awesome~

It's funny that when her husband gets up and walks around

She kept reminding him to be careful not to fall.

Then she smiled and said to me, Do you think I just like a Chinese mother?

I told my mother about her worries every time I went out.

She laughed so loudly~

This is probably the difference between American old ladies and European old ladies

They seem more cheerful and free.

The canyon under the sunset is so beautiful~

Immersed in the scenery, I took in the vast sky, the uneven brick-red canyons, the winding rivers, and the vastness of the heavens and earth. Suddenly, I felt how insignificant humans really are. So accustomed to the hustle and bustle of the city, I almost forgot the extraordinary power of nature's creation.

There are many activities to do here - watch an introductory video about the Grand Canyon, hike, ride a donkey, take a bus tour, kayak, etc.

By Flower Room |

No matter how many roads you have traveled and how many famous mountains and rivers you have seen, you will always feel that the Grand Canyon seems to exist only in another world, another planet.

Drive straight to the Grand Canyon Visitor Center. From there, you can take the park's free shuttle bus to various scenic areas off-limits to private vehicles. If you want to watch the sunset, remember where to park, as it's almost pitch black after sunset, making it difficult to find a bus. There are five color-coded bus routes within the park. Four of them are accessible from the Visitor Center, and there's a red line that requires a transfer to the blue line. The purple line also has a stop in Tusayan. For specific routes, please search Baidu.

The hotel provided a schedule of Grand Canyon sunset and sunrise times for each season. In July, it was around 7:30 PM. We entered the park just before 4 PM, so we took a bus for a quick stroll and hiked a few trails before heading to the sunset viewpoint.

There are animals in Grand Canyon National Park too.

The entrance fee to Grand Canyon National Park is $35 per car (you can also buy an annual pass for the national park, which is more cost-effective). When you pay at the gate, if you are from China, they will give you a Chinese map of the Grand Canyon.

It was almost evening when we arrived at the Grand Canyon. In order to catch the sunset at Hermits Rest, we calculated the time just right and parked the car directly at the Village Route Transfer, the starting point of the red bus. However, our plan was interrupted by the children going to the bathroom. We missed the last red bus and had to watch the sunset at Hopi House.

Later, I studied the map. If you only stay in the Grand Canyon for one night like us and leave the next day, and miss the sunset at Hermits Rest (Hermit Road is not open to private cars from March 1st to November 30th), you can drive directly to Yaki Point to watch the sunset, park your car and take the orange BUS line. This is a good choice.

It's said that the best way to appreciate the Grand Canyon is to take a helicopter ride around it, giving you a panoramic view of its beauty. Because the Grand Canyon is so vast, it can only be fully appreciated from the air. So, we arrived early at the helicopter ride location, but reservations were required, and they were already fully booked. So, we could only explore the area on foot. It turns out that not planning ahead and cramming at the last minute sometimes doesn't work. The weather was good on the day we visited the canyon, but visibility was limited. Looking into the distance, it was always foggy. Still, it was truly breathtaking.

By yve_Nefertari |

It is recommended that you go to the visitor center to ask all your questions after arriving, including recommended routes and worthwhile scenic spots. There are dedicated staff to give you directions and they are very considerate to draw them on the map. If you want to park closer to the visitor center and save some walking, drive as far as possible to the parking lot. We parked in parking lot 2.

The wonders of nature are truly amazing, and I was deeply shocked at the time.

By Garfield is me |

The shuttle buses that are actually used for sightseeing in the national park are the red and orange lines. We decided to take the shorter orange line first and try to get to Yaki Point to watch the sunset.

We were amazed when we first arrived and took lots of photos. It felt like a big stage, and we, the latecomers, were quietly watching this symphony of time and nature.

Because the weather was gloomy and the mountain wind was howling, there were no railings on the edge of the canyon. I was very worried about being blown down and was terrified.

I felt that the sunset at Yaki Point was not very special. Perhaps it was because the clouds were too thick, and the sunset only turned into a golden line on the horizon, which made it not look real.

On the other hand, at Pipe Creek Vista, the sun passed through a leak, casting a unique ray of light on the mountain wall, lighting up a golden belt. The strong contrast between light and dark was very eye-catching.

The sunset will eventually set, but it will turn into a rosy sunset glow all over the sky, like uneven rouge.

The Grand Canyon is truly a beautiful place. We went up the mountain during the day and stayed in a cabin. It was almost dusk when we arrived. The clouds in the sky were so beautiful. We stayed in separate cabins and had a bonfire party at night. However, there were a lot of mosquitoes. The next morning, we woke up to an open space in front of us and the Grand Canyon in the distance. We sat at the door, watched the sun rise, and drank a drink. The sight of the moon, stars, and sun appearing at the same time was really beautiful.

According to our guide, you can see about 40% of the Grand Canyon from a helicopter, compared to only about 3% without one. This makes a helicopter tour of the canyon more comprehensive, and I highly recommend it for that reason alone. The helicopter experience allows you to experience the canyon's abyss, a truly crushing feeling that left me feeling completely paralyzed. The Colorado River winds through the canyon, and those who have a boat tour package can even go aboard. Both Eagle Gorge and Bat Gorge are directly on the edge of the cliff, with no protection at all.

By xi-xi |

The Grand Canyon is divided into three routes: Red, Blue, and Orange. The classic viewpoints are all on the Red Route. Driving along the Red Route is prohibited during the season, but is permitted in winter. Navigate your car to the parking lot near the Village Route Transfer and take the scenic shuttle bus.

Mornings in the Grand Canyon are very cold. Be sure to bring warm clothing. Many people hike in the Grand Canyon. Horses are used to carry those who can't walk. It's said you can walk to the river at the bottom of the canyon. Many foreigners bring their young children with them.

I went to see the sunrise over the Grand Canyon. Usually, when it comes to extremely beautiful scenes, I just use my eyes to see and feel them, and I don’t waste time taking pictures!

Grand Canyon National Park has only one main viewing platform... the rest are natural rock platforms, so please exercise caution when visiting. Wearing athletic shoes is recommended for this day's tour, as some areas require climbing to experience the natural beauty. Helicopter tours are available from several companies, costing approximately $245 per person and taking about 30 minutes. Since we arrived at an unlucky time, the sky was quite cloudy, making the viewing conditions less than optimal, so I opted not to wait for the flight.

The South Rim of the Grand Canyon runs east-west and can be roughly divided into three areas, distinguished by three different color-coded bus routes. From the Visitor Center, you can take the Blue Line bus westward. The Blue Line stops mostly at hotels and shopping malls within the park, making it a loop with different routes to and from the park, so be sure to plan your destination in advance. The Blue Line has a transfer station where you can switch to the Red Line, heading further west to the South Rim. The South Rim is accessible only by Red Line bus or on foot; private cars are not allowed. You can park your car near the transfer station between the Blue and Red Lines, but parking is tight, so arrive early. The Red Line does not follow the same route for both round trips; stops are on the outbound route; there are no stops on the return trip. You can also take the Orange Line from the Visitor Center. The Orange Line has two buses, departing alternately from two stations. For sunrise, you can choose to visit the eastern attractions, while for sunset, you must visit the western attractions on the Red Line. The park's display boards show the distances between each scenic spot, making it easy for hikers to plan their itineraries and time. A word of caution: our cell phones had no signal inside the Grand Canyon, throughout the entire Grand Canyon area, and on parts of the Page section. I chose to hike, exploring the western scenery along the way, and it took about four hours to reach the Red Line terminus. It took me 7.5 hours to finally reunite with my companions, covering a total of about 20 kilometers. After gathering, we headed to the final attraction in the Grand Canyon, a Native American lookout tower, considered a relic.

Grand Canyon National Park is one of the Seven Wonders of the World. From every angle, you can admire the stunning spectacle created by sunlight reflecting off the canyon walls. The canyon's majesty will leave you in awe of nature's wonders. We'll focus on Desert Point, Vright Angel, and Mather Point.

It takes 5 minutes to drive north from Tusayan to the South Gate of the Grand Canyon. The entrance fee to the Grand Canyon is charged according to the vehicle. The general car fee is US$30 per car, which allows you to enter and exit freely within 7 days (the ticket for the West Canyon is a one-time ticket), and it is valid for both the South Rim and the North Rim. If you want to go to two or more national parks, it is recommended to buy a combined ticket. The ticket seller will ask you proactively.

We drove west along the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, passing many viewpoints along the way where we could stop and admire the magnificent scenery. We were very lucky to see a beautiful long-horned deer while passing through the forest. It was lively and agile, but unfortunately we didn't take a photo of it because it disappeared into the dense forest in a blink of an eye.

By Johnny on the Grand Line |

The South Rim of the Grand Canyon offers more scenic views than the North Rim. If you drive in, you'll need a $30 ticket per car, good for seven days. Afterwards, you can simply drive in with your ticket and enter as many times as you want. Maps are available at the hotel and visitor center. Some attractions require a free shuttle bus. There are several parking lots within the park for private cars, which are marked on the map.

Walking from the visitor center to the edge of the Grand Canyon, the first thing I saw was the desolate vastness of the land. The surface of the Earth was sinking deeply before me, leaving behind countless holes. If I had time, I'd definitely go all the way down to experience it.

The Grand Canyon has three access points: the South Rim, the North Rim, and the West Rim. It's usually easier to reach the North and West Rim from Las Vegas, while the South Rim is even easier from Page. We drove directly to the South Rim Visitor Center, where everyone was required to park their cars. We then took the park's shuttle bus to each stop.

The bus runs three routes: the Red, Orange, and Blue. The main attractions are on the Red and Orange routes. We stopped at every stop on the Red Route to admire the grandeur of the Grand Canyon. However, no one stop offers a complete appreciation of its majesty. I felt the scenery at each viewpoint was largely similar, so I only reserved half a day for the Grand Canyon. I've heard that helicopter flights offer a more comprehensive view.

It is said that the Grand Canyon has witnessed the movement and changes of the earth's crust. The colorful and diverse rock walls can probably be traced back to hundreds of millions or even billions of years ago. No wonder it is called a "living textbook of geological history."

When you arrive at the Grand Canyon, you can take a park tour bus and climb onto the glass floating platform to enjoy the magnificent canyon scenery. You can also take a helicopter tour (pay attention to the schedule) or take a boat to enjoy the scenery on both sides.

Tips: For self-driving travelers, be sure to bring your own map (paper or offline), as the signal near the Grand Canyon is extremely poor, requiring only primitive navigation methods. Also, remember to fill up your car with gas as there are few gas stations along the way, making it quite deserted. If you're truly out of gas, you can purchase gasoline at the entrance ticket booth. Due to the remote location, gasoline is in limited supply and should only get you to the nearest gas station. If you haven't made arrangements in advance, you can go to the visitor center and ask the staff, who will tell you the sunset time. It's really hot in the afternoon, so it's recommended to bring plenty of water; it's better to have more than less.

It was really cold in the Grand Canyon in April. The next morning, I watched the sunrise and was freezing cold. It didn't feel like -3 degrees Celsius at all.

There are two routes to the Grand Canyon. From March to November, Hermits Rest (Hermit Trail) cannot be accessed by car; you must take a shuttle bus. Of course, the US government has issued a very detailed notice, so you'll need to check the park's instructions.

It's super cold, so I went there to watch the sunrise. But to be honest, it's not as good as the famous mountains and rivers in my country. But it's another kind of vast beauty.

Arriving at the Grand Canyon, a car ticket cost $30, with unlimited entry and exit for seven days. The awe-inspiring beauty of the Grand Canyon is beyond words. The scenic area is vast, and you can transfer to various bus lines, offering free access to various viewpoints. The temperature was high at noon, requiring short sleeves, but snow still lay 3-40 centimeters thick in the grass.

It's truly spectacular. The sunset makes the colors even more vibrant, and the distinct layers of sedimentary rock on either side of the Grand Canyon, carved by the Colorado River, add to its geometric beauty. You can see it from the roadside.

You will be given a map after driving in. It is best not to drive all the way because there are a lot of people. The farther you get to the end of the park, the harder it is to park. So park your car in the large parking lot at the main station, and then take the internal park bus all the way to tour. It is much more convenient. Meals are relatively expensive there, so it is recommended to bring some dry food. To watch the sunset, choose the top and innermost point, which is beautiful.

Watching the sunset at the Grand Canyon is really beautiful and shocking, but it is cold, so be sure to bring a coat.

If you take the scenic area's car to see the Grand Canyon, it's actually similar, except that you can see a little bit of the Colorado River inside. The most shocking thing is probably the bird's-eye view from an airplane.

I personally think it's suitable for driving by and spending less than an hour to take a look, or for mountaineering and camping enthusiasts to spend a few days to go deep into the canyon.
