Old Faithful

Old Faithful is the most famous attraction in Yellowstone National Park. Unlike other geysers, which erupt irregularly, it erupts every few dozen minutes, never disappointing visitors. Its unwavering loyalty has earned it the name "Old Faithful." Old Faithful erupts approximately every 90 minutes, each burst lasting about four minutes. The highest and most beautiful eruption occurs in the first 20 seconds, ejecting approximately 10,000 gallons of hot water to a height of 40-50 meters at a temperature of 93 degrees Celsius. A visit to Yellowstone is a must-see for anyone visiting Old Faithful. While it might be quiet, when it erupts, it resembles a galloping horse, and when it does, the sun's rays shimmer in a dazzling array of colors, creating a truly breathtaking spectacle.

When you come to Yellowstone National Park, you can’t miss Old Faithful.

Old Faithful Geyser is really faithful, spraying every 90 minutes, as if it has a schedule.

Everyone arrived here early and waited. Their feet were frozen, but they definitely didn't leave disappointed. They started spraying on time.

Because the weather is too cold and the water temperature is too hot, a lot of water vapor is generated as soon as you come out, rising up. It's quite interesting. I guess you can see the hot spring water gushing out in the summer~

Over the past 100 years since its discovery, Old Faithful Geyser has erupted every 33 to 93 minutes, with each eruption lasting 4 to 5 minutes. The water column reaches over 40 meters high, never stopping. This regularity is why it got its name.

The Old Faithful Visitor Center will display the eruption schedule in advance. Visitors entering Yellowstone Park from the West Gate or South Gate can choose to go to the Old Faithful Visitor Center first to check the eruption time, and then feel free to visit the surrounding attractions.

Old Faithful is located just behind the visitor center. When we arrived, the benches surrounding the scenic spot were already filled with spectators. According to Sangge's recommendation, the best vantage point for viewing Old Faithful is on the hill about 50 meters north of it. To avoid any regrets, we summoned the same spirit we had yesterday when we climbed Delicate Arch. We reached the summit in less than ten minutes, and before we could even catch our breath, Old Faithful erupted. Steam curled calmly from the surface, but suddenly a powerful column of air shot straight into the sky. Thick mist moved slowly in the cold wind, lingering for a long time. The eruption lasted about three minutes. Descending from the mountain, we continued along the boardwalk. Along the way, we encountered more than a dozen geysers, though they showed no pattern or scale, sometimes appearing so fleeting that we couldn't capture them.

The best places to take photos of Old Faithful Spring are on the mountain north of Old Faithful Spring and on the second-floor platform of the Old Faithful Hotel, where you can have a panoramic view.

Although Old Faithful is known for its regularly scheduled eruptions, its eruption times can vary from day to day. When I visited during the summer, it had just erupted, and I had to wait an hour to an hour and a half. This time, I was a bit lucky, and it only took about half an hour. Although Yellowstone announces eruption times on Twitter, the frequency seems to be very random, not always available. Therefore, it's best to first visit Old Faithful to confirm the eruption time before making any further arrangements. Eruption times can be found at the visitor center near the parking lot or at the art center next to the geyser. However, the art center closes in September.

The Old Faithful Geyser Basin is huge, and it would take an hour or so to walk through it all. But the shortest way to go is just to walk around Old Faithful, which is not very interesting.

Old Faithful erupted a few minutes later than expected. It's said to have reached a peak of over 20 meters. The strong winds today blew all the eruption away, mixing it with the mist. But it was still spectacular.

Old Faithful is one of Yellowstone's most famous attractions. It erupts every 65 minutes, lasting about four minutes each time. The highest and most beautiful eruption is in the first 20 seconds. Each eruption releases approximately 10,000 gallons of hot water, reaching a height of 40-50 meters at a temperature of 93 degrees Celsius. Before Old Faithful erupted, we arrived early on the boardwalk to await this extraordinary spectacle. Smoke rose from the scorching earth, and visitors gradually gathered. For the safety of visitors, the boardwalk was built slightly further away from the spring before erupting. Two rows of wooden chairs were arranged along the boardwalk to allow for easy viewing. The view during eruption is as shown above. It's best to take a photo with Old Faithful first! You won't have the chance to take photos once the eruption actually begins, as the crowds will be so dense that there won't be any space for group photos.

Old Faithful Geyser, Yellowstone's most famous geyser, earned its name because it has erupted at a consistent interval for 200 years, with a predictable error of 10 minutes. Each eruption ejects approximately 45,500 liters of water to a height of 30-45 meters, at a temperature of 93 degrees Celsius, for five minutes.

By Wenwen |

A geyser that has been erupting for over 200 years, it typically erupts every 50 to 120 minutes, reaching an average height of 40 meters, with each eruption lasting 1.5 to 5 minutes. This 200-year unwavering commitment earned it the name "Old Faithful."

You can check the eruption schedule at the nearby visitor center. We called before our visit and got a rough idea of the eruption time.

When we arrived, the surrounding benches were already full of people. After waiting for about 10 minutes, we heard a gurgling sound, which seemed to be accumulating energy. I have seen this in Iceland.

After about another 5 minutes, a strong stream of water spurted out in the rising mist, like a rocket rising into the sky, with a height of about 40 meters, and continued to erupt for about 2-3 minutes, which was spectacular.

There is a large service area just outside Old Faithful Geyser, where the earliest hotel built in Yellowstone Park is located. After the federal government officially established Yellowstone National Park through congressional legislation in 1872, the first group of soldiers arrived here and built the original hotel using various logs.

By Cape of Good Hope |

Leaving the West Thumb Geyser Basin, we came to Old Faithful Geyser, where we saw a crowd of people waiting for the "unfaithfulness" of Old Faithful. According to the tour guide, the fountain erupts about every 94 minutes, with an average height of more than 20 meters. It is like this every time, no wonder it is named "Old Faithful" Geyser!

Old Faithful is more than just the Old Faithful geyser; it's a vast area. Besides the spectacular, regularly scheduled eruptions, there's a long hiking trail offering stunning views of various hot springs, culminating in the famous Morning Glory Pool. Even the Old Faithful Inn near Old Faithful is a beautiful sight. Old Faithful is also spacious, offering convenient parking, shopping, and dining.

By Mico |

Attraction Rating: 4 stars. Old Faithful is arguably the most popular attraction in Yellowstone. There are several large parking lots, so try to find one near the geyser entrance. Unfortunately, Old Faithful was erupting when we pulled into the parking lot. All we could hear were cheers from the distance. There were almost no empty parking spaces, so we had to wait for the tourists who had already left to see it. Directly across from the geyser, you'll see a large, white-smoke-belching structure called Old Faithful. Two circles of stone benches surround Old Faithful, so if you want a good seat, be sure to sit down and wait early, as most seats will be gone before the eruption. The building to the right of the geyser is the visitor center. The front desk displays the daily Old Faithful eruption schedule. There's also a lounge, souvenir shop, and cafe. The large building to the left is the historic Old Faithful Inn. Since we missed the previous eruption and had to wait a long time, we bought postcards and some souvenirs at the shop after learning the next eruption date. For those looking to send postcards, please note: You can't send them at the visitor center near the geyser. You'll need to go to the visitor shop at the main entrance. We even had to walk back and forth quite a bit to buy stamps and mail them. Tip: The restrooms along the way in from the parking lot are quite dirty and have long lines. It's worth taking a short walk to the visitor center. The eruption was scheduled for 2:28 PM, and the seats were already filling up before 2:00. The sudden drop in temperature (only a few degrees outside) couldn't dampen everyone's enthusiasm. Visitors from all over the world, some even in shorts and flip-flops, packed Old Faithful. Latecomers had to stand near the back. Old Faithful isn't as punctual as people imagine; it was a full five minutes late.

By A fish |

After descending from the Grand Prismatic, we wandered south to Old Faithful. It was still early for Old Faithful's next eruption, so we wandered around the nearby visitor center and took a break to restock our belongings. Yellowstone's weather is incredibly unpredictable. The sunny morning had already vanished, and dark clouds had settled in, bringing a sudden drop in temperature. We shivered in cold as we waited for the eruption. Finally, the eruption arrived, and the water level initially dipped, then gradually rose. It was quite spectacular. The geyser has erupted on schedule for years, living up to its reputation as a "faithful" geyser.

By QUAN QUAN |

After leaving the Grand Prismatic Spring, we drove about 20 kilometers to reach Old Faithful. This area looked completely different. Besides a large parking lot, it boasted a comprehensive array of amenities, including hotels, shopping, restaurants, and entertainment. As we approached, we discovered Old Faithful encompassed a large, open area, roughly the size of a football field. A wooden plank path formed a large semicircle around the perimeter, with two rows of benches placed along the edge—presumably for viewing the spring. Initially, we hadn't figured out the intermittent eruption time of Old Faithful and assumed it erupted every 15 minutes. We waited for over 10 minutes with no sign of activity. It was almost noon, and the sun was blazing, so we sat in the shade of a nearby log pile to cool off and wait. After about 10 minutes, we saw people gradually sitting on the benches surrounding Old Faithful. My wife, excited, thought the spring was about to erupt, and ran over. We waited for another 10 minutes, but tired, we returned to the shade and waited. After a while, we noticed that people in the distance were rushing towards Old Faithful, and some people even started running. At this time, we realized that the spring was really going to erupt, so we hurried over and got a good viewing position. Old Faithful immediately began to erupt, and the hot springs were about 40 meters high. It lasted for about 1 minute and then slowly stopped. It was really amazing. The tourists present enthusiastically applauded the performance of Old Faithful. Of course, everyone did not forget to take pictures of the eruption. After visiting Old Faithful, we returned to the parking lot. It was already noon, so we had a simple meal in the car as lunch and planned to leave. In fact, there is a large hot spring scenic area next to Old Faithful, but we were too lazy to see it because there were hot springs everywhere.

By Good Mom and Dad |

Although the park's official prediction error is about 10 minutes, the errors we encountered were all within 5 minutes.

The data shows that the height of different eruptions can vary greatly, but the forecast only shows the time, not the height. So it doesn't hurt to watch it a few times when you have time.

Although we have seen Old Faithful erupt many times, we have only seen a rainbow once.

By An ant |

The weather was clear, and people gathered around Old Faithful, waiting for its next eruption. Over the years, the pauses between eruptions have been increasing, possibly due to changes in groundwater levels caused by earthquakes.

By Lolo's Happy Face |

The eruption time of other geysers is more uncertain, and whether you can see them is basically a matter of luck. Old Faithful has basically no error, which is where it gets its name. It has erupted on time for decades, just like an alarm clock.

There was smoke before the official eruption, and then water columns began to spray out and the smoke became larger.

Unfortunately, we seemed to be standing in the wrong position and were splashed with the spraying water, which smelled of sulfur.

By clouds |

Old Faithful Hot Springs has many hot springs concentrated together, and the geyser times are irregular, so you have to pay attention to the broadcast time, but I personally don’t think it’s too spectacular.

At six o'clock in the morning, Old Faithful was surrounded by the smell of sulfur, and suddenly recalled the feeling of seeing the burning of straw in the countryside in winter in the 1970s.

By China-TravelNote users |

The geyser erupts every few dozen minutes. The exact time can be found at the indoor information desk in front of Old Faithful.

By Pepsi's Ghost Recon |

I wasn't sure when it would erupt, but when I saw the huge crowds of people surrounding it, I knew it was going to erupt soon. Sure enough, after about 5 minutes, a column of water shot up into the sky, and the crowd cheered.

By The man chasing the wind |

Super, super many people were sitting on the sidelines watching, and super, super many voices were saying: Wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow...

The eruption is very high and the eruption time is regular. Anyone may let you down, but Old Faithful is always there and will never miss an appointment❤️

By Wang Bao's home |

After seeing the fountain, you can find a hidden hiking trail along the plank road behind it. Climbing up, you can see the panoramic view of Old Faithful Spring. One hour is enough!

By shortcut key |

First, ask when the eruption will occur. The intervals are 33-93 minutes, and each eruption lasts about 4 minutes. The Old Faithful Visitor Center has an animation explaining the geological formation, which is a good opportunity to practice your English listening skills.

Leaving the Grand Prismatic Spring area, driving south for less than half an hour, we arrived at the main attraction of the day: Old Faithful. The setting sun was obscured by clouds, and the geyser, hidden within its shadows, seemed remarkably quiet, like the calm before a storm. While we didn't know how long the next eruption would be, the surrounding benches were empty, indicating no one was likely to erupt for a while. Officials predicted Old Faithful's next eruption would occur at 6:05 p.m., plus or minus 10 minutes. It was a perfect time, and it seemed the weather wasn't about to keep us waiting too long. My wife and I leisurely strolled to the edge of the main geyser, picked a prime viewing spot, and patiently waited. Soon, more and more people gathered around, and the sun finally broke through the clouds to join in the fun. After much waiting, the eager crowd finally witnessed Old Faithful's "faithful" eruption at 6:09 p.m. It started a little, then quickly soared into the sky. Without wind, nothing could be seen, and the fog was incredible. It felt like a rocket launch. After the blast, the water volume dwindled, leaving only wisps of smoke swirling in the wind. The large "frog cloud" behind us seemed to snort. After watching Old Faithful erupt, we retreated to the parking lot, feeling satisfied.

By Small shrimp balls 0219 |

I pulled out my phone, got into position, and waited about 10 minutes. Just when my hands were starting to feel a little sore, a stream of sparkling water shot up into the sky.

The water temperature at Old Faithful was still quite high, so even with the snow, it wasn't too cold.

Old Faithful has a visitor center that not only announces the next eruption time, but also houses a museum and a screening room. They show a 15-minute promotional video about the park's origins, current state, and unique features, making it a great place for children. The museum also features a pH meter (acidity and alkalinity chart). Selecting a pH value illuminates an image of a hot spring with the corresponding pH, and displays foods with the same pH value, which is quite interesting. Free animated bookmarks are also available at the museum, allowing you to see Old Faithful eruptions from different angles.

By Peng's Final Fantasy |

The interval between eruptions at Old Faithful has been fluctuating. Previously, it was reported as 65 minutes, while others said it was over 50 minutes. Currently, it erupts every 90 minutes, demonstrating that even the so-called "faithful" has its limits. However, compared to nearby geysers that erupt only every few days, Old Faithful is quite punctual. Arriving at the Old Faithful scenic area, it's clearly different from the previous smaller areas. The parking lot is enormous, and there are several hotels and restaurants.

You won't have to worry about being alone at Old Faithful. There were probably thousands of people sitting in a circle facing the setting sun. Ten minutes later, Old Faithful lived up to its name and erupted on time. The first twenty seconds were truly spectacular, with plumes of water rising into the sky. The entire eruption lasted for several minutes. The crowd erupted in cheers and applause. Even more fortunately, a gust of wind blew, creating layers of mist and bringing with it a rainbow, adding a perfect touch to the eruption.

By /ylContinuous flow |

You just have to wait for it to erupt. It seems to erupt every 90 minutes, and the size of each eruption varies, ranging from small to large, depending on your luck. There are a lot of people here, so you need to get a spot early, so the wait is usually an hour. There are many geysers in the Old Faithful area. We walked around them, but they weren't very impressive. This area is quite time-consuming, so you need to plan your time carefully.

By Watercolor car and Melaleuca |

Faithful Fountain now erupts approximately every 90 minutes. It can be seen from the hotel balcony at night. When we arrived, we just caught an eruption. The water vapor was dozens of meters high, which was very spectacular. The sign in the center of the lobby of the Old Faithful Visitor Center wrote the estimated time of the next eruption.

By ffangwang |

Yellowstone National Park boasts thousands of geysers, but Old Faithful stands alone as a natural wonder, creating a mythical mystery. Its constant eruption and rest are both on time. But to whom is Old Faithful truly loyal? Who controls and activates its eruption? Old Faithful's devotion is truly awe-inspiring.

By Autumn Leaves |

Old Faithful Geyser, with its remarkably stable eruption schedule, is one of the only geysers in the world with predictable eruption times. It's said to have erupted regularly for at least 200 years. Before the predicted eruption time, the area surrounding the geyser was already crowded with people. When not erupting, Old Faithful emits a faint, unremarkable mist. But just before an eruption, the mist thickens and bursts forth, creating a truly magnificent spectacle.

By Cynthia |

It seemed to be playing a game with people. Every time a slightly larger amount of water vapor came out, the crowd cheered. However, what followed was sighs again and again. I don’t know how many times I pressed the red button on my mobile phone to record the video, just to record the moment of the eruption. After all, Old Faithful did not disappoint us. When the water flow arrived as expected, cheers and exclamations broke out in the crowd. It soared higher and higher, straight into the sky, forming a giant water column tens of meters high. Presumably, the feeling of sitting in the front row should be more spectacular! As the water flow became lower and lower, I prayed silently in my heart, Old Faithful, I hope you can always be so faithful.

By ffyummyshare |

I recommend arriving early because the eruption is time-varying, and arriving early also gives you a better vantage point. The crowds of people taking photos are unimaginably large. The fountain lasts only about two minutes, a truly stunning sight before disappearing in a dazzling haze of water. Standing in the photo booth, I spotted a father in the front row holding hands with his daughter, a truly endearing sight.

By Wang Kai Photography |

We arrived at the Old Faithful Visitor Center around 1:40 p.m. The next eruption was predicted to occur around 2:25 p.m. We walked around for a while and then went to the front row to get a good seat.

As the eruption time approaches, the originally empty square is already crowded with people (if you want to grab a good seat, you must go early).

At the predicted 2:25 PM, everyone at the scene, cameras and phones in hand, awaited Old Faithful's performance. But as time ticked by, aside from a few minor, mild eruptions, the anticipated eruption never materialized. Around 2:45 PM, some visitors had already begun to leave, and we were also considering leaving. Just as we had accepted Old Faithful's less-than-perfect performance and were about to leave, the spring suddenly erupted, its columns rising higher and higher with a shrill roar. We immediately grabbed our cameras and began snapping away. The crowd erupted in thunderous applause and applause, saluting Old Faithful! She truly demonstrated that surprises are always present, even if they are late. She truly lived up to her name!

By Occasionally looking around |

The world-famous geyser. I don't know who gave it this name, but it's so fitting. It's like a loyal and punctual old man who, for ten years, has been giving passing tourists a fountain show every 90 minutes.

Safety reminder: You must walk on the plank road!!! Do not leave the plank road under any circumstances (extremely high temperature, life-threatening)!!!

The Old Faithful Visitor Center displays an eruption schedule in advance. You can check the eruption time and arrive 10 minutes early to queue up and wait (as there's a chance of an early eruption). The highest and most beautiful eruption occurs in the first 20 seconds.

Everyone sat in a row like children, waiting for the fountain, and played the "human wave" five or six times.

I heard there's another way to view Old Faithful: along a mountain path next to the observation deck, up to the summit... I only found out about this later, so I didn't get to see it. They say it's a perfect photojournalist's paradise when the sky is clear and the sun is gentle (or at sunset).

But we are already satisfied to be able to appreciate it quietly, hahaha.

Old Faithful, named for its 90-minute eruption interval, is a truly breathtaking sight. Though I've seen pictures of it, the actual sight is truly breathtaking. It's one of the few places in Yellowstone National Park with comprehensive visitor services. The visitor center also offers a valuable educational opportunity, allowing visitors to explore the mysteries of nature while enjoying the beautiful scenery.

Old Faithful is a major attraction in Yellowstone National Park. It has erupted regularly every day for hundreds of years without fail.

Old Faithful is the most famous geyser in Yellowstone National Park. A must-see when visiting Yellowstone National Park is Old Faithful.

From winter to summer, Old Faithful geyser gushes continuously according to a certain pattern, hence the name Old Faithful.

It's a famous Yellowstone geyser, with eruptions every 90 minutes. You can find the timetable at the information center. I live next door, and when I open the door, I'm greeted by a sulphurous smell (which I actually find pleasant!).

Old Faithful is a hot spring that erupts at a scheduled time. You can see the next eruption time in the Office Center. To be honest, it is quite punctual. People who come here for its reputation are waiting there early, with three layers of people inside and outside.

By Tu Mi Feng Lin |

Old Faithful erupts about every hour, so if you miss it this time, you'll have to wait an hour in the freezing cold. When we arrived, the front seats were wet—we weren't sure if it was rain, snow, or Old Faithful, so we sat in the back, just to be safe. Since it wasn't peak season, there weren't many people.

At its highest point, the height can reach about 3 meters, and the pressure is extraordinary. However, the water on the seats is not caused by the eruption of the fountain.

People abroad are quite educated. If this kind of open-air attraction, without any fences, were in China, there would surely be people watching from close up, leading to casualties. But here, everyone stayed in their seats, with no one taking a step forward.

By Hu Zijiesen |

From a photography perspective, this place is truly unremarkable, but it's a must-see in Yellowstone. We calculated the eruption time to be 90 minutes, arriving 15 minutes early. As thick smoke suddenly billowed from the surface, Old Faithful erupted once again, gushing hot water over 30 meters high, a truly spectacular sight.

By xi-xi |

The coordinates for the Old Faithful Visitor Center are: 44.458303 -110.829700. Upon arrival, we first checked the eruption time at the visitor center. The next eruption is within 10 minutes of the announced time. When we arrived, there was still half an hour before the eruption, but the waiting area was already packed; the two rows of wooden benches were almost full.

By My son loves driving |

Old Faithful is a huge semi-circular square surrounding a small steaming hill. The white steam is sometimes big and sometimes small, so much so that we thought it was erupting when we drove past it.

Seeing that the square was full of people, we expected that the next eruption should be around the corner, because if we missed it, we would have to wait for more than 60 minutes. The outdoor temperature that day was only about 10 degrees. We saw many foreign children rolling on the ground in fleece jackets, while many of their parents were wearing shorts and short sleeves as if nothing had happened. It was amazing how different people of different races are.

Old Faithful Hot Springs really lived up to everyone's expectations. After a few small teasings, it finally erupted. The estimated height was about 30 to 40 meters. Unfortunately, the weather was bad that day, with dark clouds. The white steam merged with the sky, and the photos taken were very poor. In addition, our observation angle was from the side, and it felt like we only captured a vast expanse of white... Old Faithful Hot Springs erupts every 65 minutes, and for about 4 minutes. The first minute is quite spectacular.

By CiCi |

We arrived about 20 minutes before the next eruption, and like the other tourists, we sat around waiting. Suddenly, within a few minutes, hundreds of tons of hot water gushed out from the ground. The entire spring resembled a roaring dragon, gradually soaring into the air, reaching heights of dozens of meters! The momentum was truly spectacular and awe-inspiring! The enormous column of water, accompanied by a towering white mist, rose up, a truly spectacular sight. It only reached its peak three or four times before gradually descending. The entire process took several minutes.

Afterwards, the Old Faithful geyser gradually decreased and slowly returned to calm.

By July of Freedom |

Old Faithful Geyser has a set eruption schedule. It's called Old Faithful because it erupts almost always on time, rarely with a miss. It's like an old performer, standing in the center of a theater, with people sitting on benches around him, waiting for his performance. The Old Faithful Hotel has a schedule for eruptions, so be sure to arrive ten minutes early; if there are a lot of people, you might not get a front-row seat.

The entire eruption process lasts about 2-3 minutes. It is powerful and can reach a height of 50 meters. The billowing white mist rises into the sky for a long time and does not dissipate, like a white dragon lingering.

By April Mo |

Old Faithful, as its name suggests, erupts predictably, about every 90 minutes, and has never disappointed over the years. Eruptions reach heights of approximately 30-55 meters. Before erupting, Old Faithful is not completely still, and continues to emit steam.

Yellowstone National Park is home to countless geothermal vents, and Old Faithful is the most famous. It erupts every 90 minutes, consistently for a century, each eruption lasting several minutes and reaching heights of over 50 meters. True to its name, "Old Faithful," it's a true gem.

We drove to the Old Faithful Visitor Center. Inside, a sign clearly indicated the next eruption time at the information desk. At first, we thought it might be a few minutes off, but it was accurate to the minute. It truly was Old Faithful. Just past the other end of the visitor center, we found Old Faithful.

Old Faithful geyser is named for its remarkably regular eruptions. For over 100 years since its discovery, it has erupted every 33 to 93 minutes, each eruption lasting four to five minutes and reaching a column of water reaching over 40 meters high, uninterrupted. The Old Faithful Visitor Center displays the eruption schedule in advance. Entering Yellowstone from the West or South Gates, it's recommended to visit the Old Faithful Visitor Center first to check the eruption schedule before continuing on to explore the surrounding attractions.

TIPS: Facilities include a visitor center, post office, clinic, gas station, store, restaurant, and accommodations. Along the route from Old Faithful Geyser to Madison, you'll see the Upper Geyser Basin, the Midway Geyser Basin, and the Lower Geyser Basin, from south to north.

Old Faithful Geyser, erupting every 40 minutes, is often the first stop for travelers entering Yellowstone Park from the South Gate. Each eruption is about 10 meters high, making it less spectacular than you might imagine, but sitting quietly on a bench waiting for the eruption is a pleasant way to relax.

One of the must-see attractions in Yellowstone National Park is the Old Faithful geyser. The fountain sprays continuously according to a certain pattern, hence the name "Old Faithful". It sprays about once every hour.

There were already a lot of people waiting around, and it started to erupt. It sprayed very high in the first few minutes, and you could see a colorful rainbow under the sunlight. The water vapor went up to the sky. It was a natural fountain, and it really didn't disappoint. It was so beautiful and spectacular, and I was amazed. There was also the Old Faithful Inn next to it, a tourist attraction in Yellowstone~

Our self-driving trip to the middle east and west of the United States is the most precious memory of our life. It also started our family's self-driving journey. After that, we drove all over China for 5 years. Now looking back at Yellowstone in the United States, it is so beautiful, so beautiful that it cannot be described in words.

The punctual Old Faithful always lives up to everyone's expectations. His burst of energy amidst everyone's anticipation represents a spirit of contract, truth, goodness, and beauty.

The highest and most beautiful eruption occurs in the first 20 seconds, with each eruption releasing approximately 10,000 gallons of hot water to a height of 40-50 meters at a temperature of 93 degrees Celsius.

There's a great hotel next to Old Faithful. You can check the eruption forecast at the front desk to avoid being frozen outside. The hotel has restrooms, a restaurant, and a cafe, so you can sit inside after buying something and wait.

The visitor service center of Old Faithful Springs reminds us that the next eruption time of Old Faithful Springs is 18:10. The reason why Old Faithful Springs is called Old Faithful Springs is because of its reliable eruption time.

Shivering in the cold wind, we waited until it finally erupted at 18:15. It was higher and longer than expected, and the crowd watching exclaimed "Oh~"

The last eruption before dark, with hot steam coming out of the spring mouth before it erupted.

There is a time forecast for Old Faithful, and there is a viewing area next to the fountain, which is quite spectacular when it erupts.

This is a must-see attraction in Yellowstone National Park. Old Faithful is a geyser that erupts approximately every 90 minutes, earning its name. It rises about 30 meters high and then slowly subsides, gathering strength for the next eruption after a few minutes.

It has never stopped erupting and is truly "faithful and reliable"

I'm quite satisfied with Yellowstone National Park. I've also been to Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong National Park in China. Many people say that after visiting Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong, Yellowstone is just so-so. But when I actually arrived in Yellowstone, I was thrilled and amazed. Although it's all formed by volcanic eruptions, you suddenly feel so close to nature. How can nature's beauty be surpassed by humans? Yellowstone is definitely worth visiting; every attraction is worth seeing! Because I went in May, two attractions were closed, but I'll definitely make up for it when I get a chance! Highly recommended!

I waited for an hour and a half for Old Faithful. It was so cold in Yellowstone in May, but it was worth it!!! It was definitely worth it! The video is even more spectacular!

This is when the fountain is about to erupt. For me, it is a place where I would regret not having been there and would regret having been there. On the surface, it is just a fountain. Of course, if you are a sensitive and sentimental person, you can see the essence through the appearance and sigh at the magic of nature. It is still worth seeing. There is a sign next to it, which says when the next eruption will be and how long it will take. If you come at the wrong time, you may have to wait for 1 or 2 hours.

Next to the fountain is an all-wood hotel, which was built a long time ago in Yellowstone Park using local materials. The hotel is supported by logs that go straight to the roof, which is very unique. Rooms in this hotel usually have to be booked a year in advance.

Passing Old Faithful, I saw the white plume already clearly visible. The surrounding benches were already filled with tourists, so I joined them without hesitation. Everyone held their breath, cameras and phones at the ready, eagerly anticipating the gushing jet of water. With a roar, the water arrived, rising higher and higher, forming a massive column several dozen meters high. It shot straight into the sky, blending with the clouds above, and finally bursting into the air like fireworks, dripping onto the surrounding silica.

Although the intervals between eruptions have been increasing, from the original 45-minute interval to the current 90-minute interval, Old Faithful's eruption pattern remains stable and easy to predict, so it never disappoints visitors and always arrives as scheduled. As long as you are in Yellowstone, you are not afraid of not being able to see its water column erupting straight into the sky.

Tip: To see Old Faithful erupt, you'll need to check the estimated time of the next eruption at the visitor center. The next eruption date is posted on a sign at the entrance. If you're feeling lazy, you don't need to bother. If you see a lot of people waiting, it means the eruption is not far away.

The spray was very high, at least 10 meters away, but it didn't last long. We were not satisfied with just watching it, so we had to walk around Old Faithful for a long time. Finally, when we walked out, we encountered another awesome fountain. Why do I say awesome? It's not just that it sprayed hard, the key is that this thing sprayed for too long, and when we walked to the exit, we could still see it continuing to spray.

It is said that it takes several hours for this to erupt, it seems that we are really lucky!

We arrived about 15 minutes before the pre-eruption time, and the best seats were already full. We had to sit on the side and watch for about 25 minutes before the eruption began.

Old Faithful now erupts approximately every 90 minutes. We arrived just in time for one, and the plumes shot dozens of meters high, a truly spectacular sight. It's said that in the past, eruptions were even higher and more frequent, suggesting Old Faithful may be aging. Nearby, there's a large area of geysers, several of which also erupt regularly.

A sign in the center of the Old Faithful Visitor Center lobby lists the estimated time of the next eruption.

The eruption of Old Faithful Geyser is regular. The nearby visitor service center has a timetable of the estimated time of Old Faithful eruption. You can check the eruption time first and then plan your own tour route!

Next, our friends took us to the famous Old Faithful. Why is it called "Faithful"? This natural fountain always gushes water at a fixed time, never disappointing the tourists waiting nearby. As long as you time it right, you can catch the "Old Faithful" show. Indeed, the railings were crowded with tourists waiting to see the fountain erupt.

Old Faithful, a famous geyser in Yellowstone National Park, is so punctual it erupts about every hour that it's called "Old Faithful." Each guide has a timetable for Old Faithful eruptions, ensuring they arrive in time to witness the spectacular event.

Old Faithful, book a time to spray, go to the visitor center to check the time, it is best to go to the surrounding area. When it bursts, it is still very spectacular and worth seeing.

Old Faithful Visitor Education Center is the newest visitor center in Yellowstone Park. It displays the formation and eruption principles of intermittent fountains in a dynamic form. At the visitor center, visitors can learn about the eruption time of Old Faithful Geyser.

Old Faithful Geyser is the most famous landscape in Yellowstone National Park and one of the most famous geysers in the world. Unlike most geysers, it erupts about once an hour and a half, reaching a height of about 30 meters, which is very spectacular.

It erupts every few tens of minutes and never disappoints tourists. It is loved by people all over the world just like its name.

Each eruption of Old Faithful geyser can spray approximately 8,400 gallons of boiling water 145 feet into the air (about 31,798 liters, about 44 meters). These eruptions typically last from one to five minutes. Old Faithful has been erupting regularly for at least 200 years, earning it the name "Old Faithful" because of its consistent eruption schedule, which is guaranteed to occur approximately every hour and a half.

"Geyser" comes from the Icelandic word "geyser," meaning "gushing well" or "raging one." Deep beneath the Earth's surface lies in fiery rock. When these rocks heat water within a vent or nozzle to boiling point, steam and water build up until they erupt from the top. As the geyser's nozzle empties, it gradually refills, and the process begins all over again. In the case of Old Faithful, underground lava powers it.

Visiting Old Faithful Geyser is what I look forward to most on this trip to Yellowstone Park.

Old Faithful is also known as Old Faithful. Yellowstone has its own monitoring station for its eruptions. Ask beforehand and arrive on time to save time. The time is generally accurate, but there are always occasions when someone might be in a bad mood and decide not to erupt on time. Please come and watch with a calm mind; everyone has a few bad days, right?

All attractions, whether natural or cultural, should be visited early. Some of these incidents have nothing to do with vandalism or commercial encroachment. Old Faithful was said to have erupted 200 feet in the past... This year, I see it's only around 100 feet... Alas, nature is unpredictable, the Earth's crust is constantly shifting beneath it, and there's no telling when this geyser will become quiescent. Everyone, please visit early!

Yellowstone's largest man-made service area has everything you need. The fountain wasn't as large as I'd imagined, supposedly due to environmental factors. I expected a noise before the eruption, but there was no sound at all, and the water just came out.

Old Faithful is known for its precise eruption times. However, seasonal fluctuations often affect the eruption. In winter, the cold temperatures create a spectacular display of mist. Our eruption wasn't very high, so we waited a long time and were a bit disappointed. If you're going to see it, be sure to pay attention to the eruption times and arrive early to secure a spot. During peak season, crowds are often very high, so please be careful.

One of Yellowstone's landmarks, it boasts the tallest geyser in the park. Its eruptions are very regular, occurring approximately every 90 minutes, and each eruption lasts for a long time, providing ample opportunity for visitors to take photos and observe the scene. Consequently, the park has made significant investments in this area, building a visitor center, an education center, and various restaurants and hotels. The education center is quite good, explaining the formation, geography, and history of Yellowstone's many pools, springs, and geysers, including Old Faithful. Old Faithful itself is located within a basin, with a boardwalk and other geysers, though these are similar to those found elsewhere.

Old Faithful erupts every 90 minutes, and when we first arrived, we had to wait for nearly an hour. However, like Mammoth Hot Springs, the area around Old Faithful is bustling with restaurants and hotels, and most importantly, there's a large parking lot!

There is a rest area next to the Old Faithful Geyser, which has a cafe, a souvenir shop and a "food court". We found a seat by the window, where we could see the geyser. We ordered two Teriyaki rice bowls, and the taste definitely exceeded Fat Rabbit's expectations!

After lunch, with about ten minutes left before the eruption, the entire Old Faithful Geyser was already crowded with tourists. Despite the large crowds, the atmosphere wasn't particularly noisy, as if everyone was quietly waiting for the moment of eruption, afraid that the noise would drown out the sound of the water column soaring into the sky.

Of all the geysers in Yellowstone, Old Faithful is undoubtedly the most renowned. While most geysers have long, unpredictable intervals between eruptions, Old Faithful has consistently held its promise, erupting every 60 to 90 minutes without fail. Having traveled all this way to Yellowstone, how could one not visit Old Faithful? The water, mixed with steam, rose higher and higher, and from the downwind position, we could clearly feel the steaming hot mist. It's hard to imagine such immense energy hidden beneath the surface of the earth.

The most crowded place, it erupts every hour, and it is also the largest rest area in the Yellowstone area. It is recommended to come at noon, stop for lunch and watch the fountain. Overall it is good.
