Hi hope someone can help!
Me and my wife are flying to Bali from heathrow this weekend and we have a 50 minute layover in Changi airport. Our flight from London looks like it will land at Terminal 3 Changi but our next flight to bali departs from Terminal 2. Will this be a problem?
Flights are all booked under one booking so luggage should be booked to final destination. Has anyone done this before? How long does it take to get from Terminal 3 to Terminal 2 gates for a connection?
Thank you in advance
Are you travelling with Singapore Airlines?
That is the minimum connection time offered by Changi airport, so if your plane arrives on time, you’ll need to hot foot it to your next flight. Flight attendants will know you’ve got a short connection so they’ll prioritise you when getting from one flight to another. I have made that connection time before, and the airport is very efficient.
If you’re lucky you’ll have time for a pit stop along the way. Pack your essentials in your carry on.
Yes both flights are with Singapore airlines
You are 5-10mins over the minimum connection time - assuming you have a through ticket from your description.
This will be a fast move to the next flight with no real waiting time the onward gate will have been open for around 20mins by the time you arrive.
If you have a through ticket and miss the flight due to delays (and LHR flights do get them) then you will get put on the next flight with available seats so research when those might be so you know what to expect.
So on a single ticket, this is tight but they expect you to make it otherwise as the airlines do not want to eat the costs of rerouting you. THere is no hanging around here.
THe downside is that there is basically no real buffer for delays in the connection here, so any lateness and you are goinb to be organising rebooking (which is why Id never take such a gap even with the protections of a single ticketed trip that you have)
Ha ha - I’m at least consistent, although I’m perhaps more eloquent in that link Minxbaby!
Singapore airlines has lots of 50min connections at Changi, so if you are in one ticket you should be fine. There will normally be some one at the end of the airbridge when you get off to point you in the right direction for the next flight and they will already know those passengers who are connecting. It should take around 20min to get the next gate in T2 if you take the Skytrain. Gates close 10min before the flight. So you don’t have time to look around. This is a popular route there are likely a few passengers making the same connection on your flight,
Thank you, how do i know for sure i have a through ticket? The flights are all booked under one booking reference and PNR and are all SQ flights provided by Singapore airlines.
I have also checked and there is another singapore airlines flight to bali 55 minutes later if we did miss the first flight so i guess that is lucky!
Me and my wife are in our early 30's and will def be more than willing to run so fingers crossed!
travlntheblood, I think both of your responses are equally eloquent :)

You have a through ticket.
Edited: 2 years agoBut I flew from London to Singaporef in January, and the flight arrived an hour late, de-icing in London, delays by thunderstorms in Singapore.
And our return flight was 40 minutes late, I didn't hear the reason.
If that happens, you'll be put on the next available flight, which is not necessarily the next flight.
Personally I'd prefer more time for the transfer.
