Day Hotel for a few hours
Hi, we will be reaching Hanoi Airport around 1pm and taking the 10pm overnight train to Sapa in Apr. Would appreciate any suggestions on what we could do between the time we touch down at the airport and the time we board the train. We could just chill and have our lunch and dinner at the airport before making our way to the train station. Or is there any recommended day hotel either near the train station where we could freshen up before embarking on our overnight train? Appreciate some suggestions. Thank you.
Your times aren't really day times. In 2 - 3pm, out 8 - 9 in evening. That when room usually occupied by overnight stayers.
If you want a room,just use a booking site eg Agoda to book something cheap, in a convenient location.

For a day hotel near train station, you can consider Hanoi Lucky Hostel. I have booked it for my clients and got really nice feedbacks
Edited: 1 year agoAs SimonPedal says you're not day rate time. Just book a hotel room for one night. It'll be somewhere to freshen up and check out in time to go to the train. Max price to pay? For the relatively short time, cheap and cheerful comes to mind. Just make sure the shower works!
Don’t linger at the airport- head into Hanoi and either book a cheap hotel or tip someone in a restaurant or hotel to mind your bags for you(obviously keep your valuables on your person) and take a wander around Hanoi

May I know, what hotel you booked for a day rate stay? We have the same travel time to hanoi
Hi, it's Sojo Hotel Ga Hanoi. Directly opposite the train station. 7-hours block.
There's another hotel on the same side of the station, Mango Hotel.
Sojo is nicer, newer and more modern while the location of Mango does not require us to cross the wide road with heavy traffic at times, to go to the train station.
