Hi
I have been trying to find alternative options, other than taxis, to get to the high speed train station from the airport.
I do not want to take a taxi and get stuck in traffic.
The info available is a bit confusing . I can see there is a Skytrain from the airport, which can possibly take you to the Jabodebek LRT - which I believe takes you to Halim, however this is where the information gets really confusing, and I cannot be sure.
I will appreciate if someone can explain whether there is a reasonably easy way to get to the high speed train stationplease.
Many thanks
the system is a little convoluted. The whoosh train is not actually at Halim, even if you land there you would still have to take a short taxi/shuttle to the Whoosh station. Are you going to Bandung? To get there after Whoose you still have to take the local train (included in the ticket but no assigned seats) to Bandung train station, then from there take a taxi or whatever transport to the city or your destination. Or my suggestion is to take a taxi from the end of the whoosh line direct to your destion .
Hi.
Yes, I am going to Bandung.
Thank you. I am aware of the ‘feeder train on Bandung side.
My concern is in Jakarta as I would like to get to Bandung asap.
I understand a taxi to Gambir is about 45 - 60 min to catch the standard train, whilst a taxi to the Whoosh station can sometimes take 1,5 hrs if you get stuck in traffic.
However it will still be quicker with Whoosh to get to Bandung.
I believe you get really comfortable seats in Whoosh, and after a flight from the UK, we will need that! ;-)
I will be taking a taxi from a hotel near Soekarno-Hatta to Halim station for the Whoosh at 11am this morning with my daughter. My wife already took an early morning taxi to Halim station with my son at around 5.30am. She is Indonesian and chooses to travel this way. We estimate the taxi to cost about Rp250k (probably Rp180k if we took a Grab car) and the journey around 1.5 hours.
I disagree about the Whoosh seats being more comfortable than the standard train seats, although maybe the first class seats are better. The economy class seats are nothing special but then you only need to sit in them for around a half hour.
Just wanted to add that a taxi from near Soekarno-Hatta airport to Halim Station at 5.30am when there is no traffic took 45 minutes and cost Rp250k inclusive of the toll charges. So a lot depends on what time your flight arrives.
Thank you.
Our flight arrives at 9h35, and I’ve been told it will take about 1hr to get through immigration and baggage collection and out of the airport.
We are flying business class, and have already got visas, and will have our eCD done. We arrive at terminal 3.
The other reason for considering Whoosh above the standard is that there are more trains available on regular intervals on Woosh.
It would seem the only feasible train on the standard train from Gambir is at 13h10, and then only one more a couple of hours later.
This would mean we will only get to Bandung later in the evening if we miss the 13h10 - should there be a delay on our flights.
Being NY eve we will need to be prepared in advance as seats will sell out.
After you passed through immigration you should consult Google maps for how long it will takes to halim station by taxi, it usually is pretty accurate.
For train to halim station
1. Sky train from T3 to the main airport station, ride 2 stops.
2. Airport train to bni city station, ride 4 stops.
3. Walk to LRT's Dukuh Atas station. Do note that there is a MRT station and a LRT station, you want the LRT. The walk should take 10-15 minutes
4. From LRT dukuh atas make sure that you get on the bekasi line, both lines share the same platform but they depart one after the other.
Thank you for your reply.
Much appreciated.
My own taxi trip from a hotel bear the airport at 10.45am took around1 hr 15 minutes and also cost Rp255k inclusive of toll charges. At Halim Station I bought tickets at the ticket counter for Rp225k each and that was for the 13.02 train. Yes the seats aren't bad. The change from the Whoosh train to the commuter train into Bandung was very hectic and unpleasant. Sometimes it's nice to take the normal train all the way from Gambir to Bandung. It's slower but has great views and you can relax.
Thank you. We have opted to take the slower train.
Now it’s just fingers crossed our flight isn’t going to be delayed!
for the slower train, I recommend you book the panoramic class.
you can see what it looks like in YouTube.
