Weather currently
Is the weather really as bad as it looks at the moment? We arrive next week.
Why worry about the weather as there is nothing you can do about it so why stress.
One thing is that it will not be cold so take your sun factor 50 and I'm sure you will get more sun than you actually need.
Well there is something we can do. We could rearrange our holiday.

As someone else said in another thread, Langkawi island has it's own micro-climate and it can rain at one side of the island and be full sun at the other.
Best to ignore the weather reports to be honest. It won't be constant rain if that's what you are thinking.
Short afternoon showers are common in the tropics. Weather reports may tell you that it rains every day, but it just means there is a high probability of showers, not that it rains constantly.
Internet weather reports are usually unnecessarily alarming.
There are almost certain to be brght sunny spells or clear weather on most days, with a quick 1 or 2 hour shower here and there.
Crystal ball gazing generally isn’t too valuable and I think you’ll have a pleasant holiday overall.
We are here now at Datai Bay, the weather hasn’t been great at all and we go home tomorrow, however things seem to be picking up for next week. Locals say it’s unprecedented for the time of year so hopefully it’s a random bad spell and will improve👍
The reason for the bad weather is because a tropical depression at Bay of Bengal has intensified to Cyclone Fengal which is currently close to Sri Lanka.
The cyclone is now drawing strength from South China Sea. As the pressure is crossing over the Northern parts of Peninsula Malaysia and Southern Thailand, rain and wind are being dumped. This is likely to continue on for another couple of days.
