1 week in Japan end of February 2025

First time in Japan and I was thinking a few days in Tokyo then the next in Kyoto, then going back to the US from Narita.

Should we go back to Tokyo the day before our flight to the US? Or would leaving from Kyoto to Narita be doable? 5pm flight out of Narita.

Also any suggestions on where to stay in Kyoto?

Consider flying out of Osaka to Narita. Shinkansen on back to Tokyo and Narita the day of or day before flying home is also doable.
