Hi,
Currently trying to finalize a rough itinerary and want to spend from my 5,5 weeks in total around 2 weeks around.
Interest in culture, nature and food and more on a slow pace as Traveller. I prefer bus and train and would occasionally join a group tour
Any ideas, feedback?
23/10 arrival in Nagoya (7.20 pm international flight)
24/10 Nagoya
25/10 Nagoya
26/10 Nagoya - Magomejuku - stay somewhere over night along the train line )
27/10 Matsumoto
28/10 Matsumoto
29/10 Matsumoto - nagano
30/10 Nagano
31/10 nagano-alpine route (use option to send bag)
1/11 Toyama
2/11 Toyama
3/11 Toyama - Kanazawa
4/11 Kanazawa (day trip to Shirakawa-go)
5/11 Kanazawa
6/11 Kanazawa-Fukui
7/11 Fukui
8/11 Fukui- Okayama
- is the detour to Nagano really worth it?
- could I buy the alpine pass ticket shortly before depending on weather or as someone coming from germany with the alps isn’t worth the money and time as I also miss the famous snow road bit
- skipping Osaka, Kyoto and Nara as I have been there before - next is Shikoku before catching probably a flight to Tokyo on the 24th for the last week in Tokyo
Thanks so much
Forgot to add that i visited takayama for the spring festival in 2010 - so giving it a miss this time
Also none of the regional passes will probably work since they are simply to short if one wants to spend more time in the area
Edited: 3:11 am, February 01, 2025Why so much time in Nagoya? I have read that there is not much to see there. Please explain
I will arrive late on the first evening and I found a lot of things to explore and do for at least two days, even without adding ghibli park
And yes people often say to skip it - but then I don’t want to rush or focus on Kyoto for example
Any thoughts?
