Where to stay August 2025
Hi everyone. We are planning to visit Okinawa in August and would appreciate advice on where to stay for a resort type experience that doesn't break the bank. Onna looks lovely but the resorts on the beach are very pricey - particularly in August. We would like to be somewhere with a pool, beach access nearby and ideally shops/eating areas nearby. Area recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks
What I imagine is Chatan-cho Mihama American Village area. Restaurants and shops are there. AEON Mall Rycom isn't that remote by drive.

I visited AJ Resort Island Ikeijima earlier this month. The hotel has a beautiful private beach, and the price is more affordable compared to hotels in Onna. However, you will need a car to get there.
