Simply sitting on a seat next to the River in the late afternoon, early evening happy hour at Boat Quay at one of the pubs there, watching the cruise boats pass by and with views over to the civic district is a very relaxing experience.
From what you have requested I would definitely say Boat Quay. Lots of bars/restaurants there. We love it there and always go a few times each trip, or if we are staying nearby more often as its a good place to bar hop.
My preferences change with the moon.
Chili crab, right now with a bit of a view and some alfresco by the river is Jumbo Riverwalk.
