Klong muang vs krabi

We are a couple who are interested in activities and little nightlife but not much
Is it better to do 7 nights in klong muang in a resort or do 4 nights in ao nang and 3 in klong muang?
This trip is in start of June so because of the rainy season we are thinking to do all 7 nights in the resort in klong muang.

Ao Nang beachfront strip is way too busy for our taste. There are a lots of pool villas a few kms inland of Ao Nang that are excellent, eg Blue Sea Villas WAY more restaurants and businesses than Khlong Muang which is quite sleepy. With transport easy to et back and forth. Beach way noicer at Khlong muang but the boats to Princess Cave and the ikslands depart from Ao Nang.
What about staying in varana hotel in klong muang and few days going to ao nang for tours and nightlife?
If it's raining it will be better to be in a bigger resort?
We hated Ao Nang. We loved Klong Muang. I would base your self in KM and go into Ao Nang for a look.
Been to both definitely 7 in klong muang
The only thing is the night life in KM would not appease most tourists compared to AN and the costs involved in transferring to AN from KM adds up quick.
Unless you plan on just lounging around the resort everyday, with arranged tours from them, I would suggest sticking with the half half it's the best of both worlds. Relax and do nothing in KM and do most of the excursions and tours in AN where just about everything departs from easily with no extra charges.
