Hi, I hope you can help..
Myself and my fiancé are looking for some recommendations for our honeymoon in November
We are looking for a beautiful sandy beach not rocky with shallow water preferably with a romantic laid back place to stay
But also want the best experience of Thailand bearby
We're late thirties and we love to experience new things we love bars and good food
Also love the idea of visiting new islands although this one isn't that important
We don't want to spend a ridiculous amount of money either
We're well travelled but have never been to Thailand
Thank you
- November is generally a good time. How long are you looking to visit Thailand?
- How do you define "a ridiculous amount of money" for your top in THB?
- Are you looking to skip Bangkok...which I feel is a huge mistake as I believe it is one of the top world travel cities?
" We don't want to spend a ridiculous amount of money either
We're well travelled but have never been to Thailand..."

Thailand gets quite a few first time visitors. They have all sorts of budgets and usually do okay. (For me, Thailand would be cheaper than visiting England again.) The more money you spend on a hotel room the more butt kissing and amenities you get. Narrow down what beach you want and go to that forum.. There will be hotel suggestions at the top of the website page.
How many days in Thailand?
Keep in mind that Thailand might be bigger than you may think. You may be using some long distant flights or trains for some distant places in Thailand. Many first time visitors go with round trip to Bangkok, a visit to Chiang Mai area and a visit to a beach area good for the month you visit. Return to Bangkok for a night or two before your departure. Do last minute shopping, some more exploring and be a simple taxi or train ride to the airport.

Budget. There are many posts with "budget" type questions and for changing your currency to Thai baht.
Only you know how much per night you want to spend on a room each night. (Use Thai baht for the nightly price range and someone will come up with a suggestion.) You can figure out how much your favorite airline will charge you. Lots of frequent flyer miles to and from Thailand. Use your favorite airline (or one of their partners) and add to your FF miles.
Each city you may be interested in usually has a specific forum. There will be posts for hotel advice, where and how to change money, etc.
Since you are an experienced traveler, Thailand could be cheaper than some of your previous countries.
Have fun in Thailand.
