Varanasi-PrayagRaj-Lucknow-Ayodhya Trip Plan

My questions are:

How would be weather condition in Uttar Pradesh in last week of December?

I will mostly visit Varanasi, Prayagraj, Ayodhya and Lucknow. But I want to add Amritsar also. Is it possible?

I have ten days in hand. I do not want to miss Amritsar, Varanasi and Prayagraj.

So, Lucknow and Ayodhya is worth watching or what? Can we skip this two place?

Please suggest. And also if possible make me an itinerary for these places.

I will start on 24th December from Kolkata and planning to end the trip on 31st December.

Thanks in advance

//weather condition in Uttar Pradesh in last week of December?//

For me worst time to visit,extreme cold,dense fog and overcrowded with domestic tourist specially in Varanasi and Ayodhya.

//have ten days in hand.//

As per yourself you have 8 days ,::-$ will start on 24th December from Kolkata and planning to end the trip on 31st December. $

//But I want to add Amritsar also. Is it possible? //

If you are ready to travel then you can but I won’t,will stuck with UP,during December last week a weather from UP to Punjab would be almost same,all mode of transport would be slow,train and flight delay and cancellation,have to take this in consideration.

//Lucknow and Ayodhya is worth watching or what? Can we skip this two place?//

Totally depends upon individual interest,for me Ayodhya is max for a day ,Lucknow is good for 2 days .

Thanks for your reply. So, you are saying we should avoid UttarPradesh in December then?

I will have kid and senior citizen with me also.

I shared the the weather and other conditions that time ,rest its on you whether to travel or not as thousands of tourist travel that time too during Christmas to New Year,its peak season rush .

In these places weather will be cold and foggy and also more or less similar in all cities.

You plan as below :

Day 01 Arrive Prayagraj

Day 02 Visit Prayagraj > Varanasi

Day 03 Varanasi

Day 04 Varanasi > Ayodhya

Day 05 Ayodhya > Lucknow

Day 06 Lucknow > Amritsar

Day 07 Amritsar

Day 08 Fly Amritsar to Kolkata

Pan to hire car & driver from Prayagraj till Lucknow, later can use flight.

Crabtree India Travels, Thank you so much for your expert advice and itinerary.

I have a question, which would be more economical taking Cab for all these 3-4 places or rather I will take Train for short distance?

First I want to visit Varanasi. So, car can be hire from there if I want? And if available then how much would be approx. fare for 3 places?

Also, please tell me how many days will be sufficient to visit Varanasi and Prayagraj fully?

I am thinking this time I will skip Ayodhya and Lucknow and rather I will include Amritsar in the trip.

How it would be?

//will take Train for short distance?//

That time of year I would go with cab,atleast I would have flexibility.

Problem with trains that time that if I do reservations for train between Varanasi and Ayodhya have to wait for trains even if its late by 8-10 hr,that will ruins my further plan.

Or go without reservation with general ticket ao that don’t have to wait for particular train then its not at all comfortable option in this part of India,too overcrowded general compartment.

//Varanasi//

3 days

//Prayagraj//

1 day

//How it would be?//

Your call but I won’t,when I am in Varanasi /Prayagraj will try to cover other nearby destination than covering Amritsar when all trains would be running record late.

Hi,

For a tourist, Varanasi need 01 & 1/2 days to visit all must see places & excursions. Prayagraj needs a full day, so you have time to visit to Ayodhya. You may skip Lucknow as it is not a holy place. Prayagraj to Amritsar, there is no good connection of train / flight. If no Lucknow, then plan Kolkata >Prayagraj > Varanasi> Ayodhya > Amritsar > Kolkata. These places are well connected by trains, but I do not recommend for short distance.

Check the schedule if its suites you may opt it.
