Shangxiajiu street or beijing lu pedestrian street?
Hi, will be in guangzhou next month, would like to know if staying near shangxiajiu or beijing lu better? We r a couple w a 10yr old kid. Which one would have more variety of food and shopping? And do all the restaurants and shops close at 10pm in both area?
And are all the must try must eat food located mostly around beijing lu?
Beijing Road is better, very busy and crowded with nonstop shops and restaurants all directions, subway station and many historic attractions. There is no need for restaurant suggestions, as you’ll see 100 different restaurants everywhere.
Shangxiaju has been in sharp decline since the pandemic, half of the pedestrian street are now dark and shops closed. The area is traditional old neighborhoods with narrow streets, very authentic and interesting.
